Comedy Central should continue to air the &#8220;South Park&#8221; episode that mocked the late conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, one of those closest to him is saying.
Andrew Kolvet, executive producer of &#8220;The Charlie Kirk Show&#8221; and a friend of the Turning Point USA founder, said that Kirk would not want the episode pulled from the network in the wake of his assassination at Utah Valley University

The episode, titled &#8220;Got a Nut,&#8221; originally aired on August 6 — and featured the character Cartman parodying Kirk&#8217;s debate style and mannerisms. The show even got a positive review from Kirk himself: &#8220;Not bad, Cartman.&#8221;
Another person commented on the way the show&#8217;s creators had animated Cartman put down the microphone and take a sip of water while listening to a question — and then pick it back up afterward — prompting Kirk to add, &#8220;Eerily spot on.&#8221;

Kirk also made a video response to the episode, saying that the fact that they were mocking him was proof of just how big the movement he started had become. &#8220;There&#8217;s going to be a lot said about this, but we need to have a good spirit about being made fun of,&#8221; he said. &#8220;This is all a success, this is all a win. We, as conservatives, we have thick skin, not thin skin. And you can make fun of us, it doesn&#8217;t matter. And until next time, I hope all of you all become master debaters for truth.&#8221;

“South Park” announced that it wouldn’t be airing a new episode on Wednesday night as planned because they “didn’t get it done in time.”
The update came from series creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, per <a href="https://variety.com/2025/tv/news/south-park-delays-episode-1236522027/">Variety</a>.
“Apparently when you do everything at the last minute sometimes you don’t get it done,” they said. “This one’s on us. We didn’t get it done in time. Thanks to Comedy Central and ‘South Park’ fans for being so understanding. Tune in next week!”
This will be the first new episode of “South Park” since the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was parodied on the August 6 episode called “Got a Nut.” Cartman appeared as a character meant to mimic Kirk’s method of debate.
At the time, Kirk <a href="https://x.com/charliekirk11/status/1953290604365885923">reacted</a> by laughing at the bit, writing, “Not bad, Cartman,” and saying it was “eerily spot on.”
At one point during that episode, a character who wins the “Charlie Kirk Award for Young Master Debaters” says, “You can’t trust Jews, white people are the underprivileged, and women belong at home.”
After Kirk was assassinated while giving a campus talk last week, the episode was removed from Comedy Central reruns, but was still available to watch on Paramount+, the outlet noted.
Andrew Kolvet, an executive producer of “The Charlie Kirk Show” and a friend of Kirk’s, said the Turning Point USA founder would have wanted the episode to stay up.

This season of the series has been going hard with jokes about the Trump administration, including the president, Vice President JD Vance, and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. The season 27 opener started with a bit about Trump being in a romantic relationship with Satan, and the writers have continued pushing that trope in subsequent episodes.
While President Trump has yet to react to the bit publicly, Vance tweeted, “Well, I’ve finally made it,” after an episode featuring his likeness aired. Noem reacted by telling Glenn Beck, “It never ends, but it’s so lazy to constantly make fun of women for how they look. It’s always the liberals and the extremists who do that. If they wanted to criticize my job, go ahead and do that, but clearly, they can’t. They just pick something petty like that.”
Homeland Security used the show to advertise its ICE recruitment currently underway.
“We want to thank ‘South Park’ for drawing attention to ICE law enforcement recruitment,” the agency said in a statement just ahead of the “South Park” episode airing. We are calling on patriotic Americans to help us remove murderers, gang members, pedophiles, and other violent criminals from our country.”
A new episode of “South Park” is slated to debut on Wednesday, September 24.

Howard Stern spent years complaining about the media’s coverage of him. And for good reason. Journalists loathed Stern’s shock jock shtick.
And then, slowly, the media began affording Stern a Strange New Respect around the same time he went woke and embraced the Democratic party.
Does that explain the stunning shift happening over at “South Park?”
The irreverent series debuted in 1997 and is still going strong, while kindred comic spirits like “The Simpsons” and “Bob’s Burgers” lack the snap of their early years. “South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone just signed a <a href="https://variety.com/2025/tv/news/south-park-paramount-plus-billion-dollar-deal-1236466524/">$1.5 billion deal with Paramount+</a> to keep the misadventures of Cartman and co. going.
Not bad for a crudely animated show featuring a talking piece of <a href="https://www.youtube.com/shorts/MSp-KFJXJVo">excrement</a>.
The show’s willingness to mock both sides of the aisle has been one of its selling points over its nearly 30-year run. The show has made fun of smug EV drivers, Catholicism, Mormons and more.
The series tweaked transgender athletes dominating biological women in sports years before Riley Gaines called foul on Lia Thomas’ “stunning and brave” swimming victories.
Fair? Balanced? Pretty darn close for most viewers, and a rare example of a comic institution unwilling to become yet another DNC platform. It was all about the funny, and Parker and Stone didn’t care whose toes they stepped on along the way.
That not only forged the show’s fame but also generated keen interest from the Right. We’ll take our lumps if our liberal friends share in the honor.
Until now, perhaps.

The first three episodes of “South Park’s” current season have hammered President Donald Trump, Director of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, Vice President JD Vance and other GOP targets. It’s been crude and, gasp, atypically one-sided. 
Recent shows have also attacked ICE agents rounding up illegal immigrants and suggested Christians are trying to swarm public education with a cameo from Jesus himself.
While most animated shows take months, or even a year, to complete, the turnaround time for new “South Park” episodes is shockingly fast. That allows them to cover recent ICE raids, for example, even as the headlines were mere days old.
It’s been relentless. And, in many ways, less funny than usual. Showing a cartoon Trump threatening to sue everyone on sight is funny because he has been litigious, even if one agrees with his legal strategies.
Satire stings when it has a kernel of truth. Other bits, though, feel desperate and clapter-adjacent.
Even more curious? The show is missing so much comic material. What about prominent Democrats siding with accused wife beaters and gang bangers, a la Kilmar Abrego Garcia? Or progressive mayors insisting their crime-infested cities aren’t crime-infested cities?
What’s going on?
The Stern theory is in play, no doubt. The media has been moderately kind to “South Park” over the years, but the adulation shown to “South Park” in recent weeks has been eye-opening.

Even the Associated Press has begun chronicling the new episodes as if they were suddenly newsworthy. That’s how reporters have treated anti-Trump “Saturday Night Live” sketches over the years and many late-night monologues.
It’s Strange New Respect, The Sequel. Here’s betting liberal Hollywood, Inc. is warming up to Parker and Stone in ways they haven’t felt for some time, too. After all, they can’t keep “South Park” going forever, and they’ll need to pivot to new projects soon.

The recent shift also runs counter to the show’s original take on Trump. “South Park” hasn’t hammered the real estate mogul as consistently as other pop culture institutions over the past decade.
“Saturday Night Live” trolls Trump on a weekly basis.
Parker and Stone are self-described Libertarians, which has helped explain their equal opportunity skewerings up until now. Have their political leanings shifted of late? Note that they left President Joe Biden alone for four years despite enough comic material to flesh out an entire season. Maybe two.
Another possibility, one in line with the duo’s brand, is the Trump attacks are making a larger point. The Left and the Media insist, without evidence, that President Trump helped get Stephen Colbert fired from “The Late Show.”
He’s silencing dissent, the Left collectively cries, citing Colbert’s cancellation. This could be the duo’s attempt to mock that fear-mongering. Just try to censor us! We’re willing to mock Trump, but not eager to cost our <a href="https://www.facebook.com/officialbenshapiro/videos/stephen-colberts-show-loses-40-million-per-year/2218688955237636/">employers’ $40 million a year</a>.
“South Park” is no stranger to censorship, so any real sign of it from Team Trump would draw its ire. The show’s willingness to show a comic likeness of Muhammad <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2010/apr/22/south-park-censored-fatwa-muhammad">caused a kerfuffle</a> earlier in the show’s run. Comedy Central ended up censoring the visuals, not Parker or Stone.
If the “South Park” pranksters do a heel turn and start smiting the Left again, expect a vastly different media reaction to future episodes. The disappointment will be palpable.
Even the best shows run out of fresh ideas. That may happen to “South Park” sooner or later. Abandoning the show’s bipartisan spirit could be the quickest path to just that fate.

Comedy Central had planned for South Park to take a hiatus this week, long before the animated show’s 27th season premiered. Which means viewers will have to wait another week to see how creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone choose to lampoon the Trump administration next.
South Park parodied Trump last month in its season 27 premiere, prompting many viewers to note that the show — which has poked fun at both Democrats and Republicans — never mocked President Joe Biden while he was in office, despite having plenty of opportunities to do so.
“The Left’s hypocrisy truly has no end – for years they have come after ‘South Park’ for what they labeled as ‘offense’ content, but suddenly they are praising the show,” White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers said. “This show hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention.”
Unfortunately for the South Park team, the rest of the Trump administration seems to be getting a kick out of the parodies.
The show’s latest episode, “Got a Nut,” includes a parody of Trump and JD Vance. The millennial vice president was thrilled,

But Noem and her team also embraced the parody. The day before the episode aired, Homeland Security used the show to advertise its ICE recruitment currently underway.

The same episode depicted the character Eric Cartman impersonating Turning Point USA co-founder and CEO Charlie Kirk at a campus event. Cartman takes questions from the crowd as they discuss abortion.
“What makes you think you have the right to say what I do with my body?” a woman asks.
“Let me ask you something. If a pregnant woman is killed and the baby dies too, why is the killer charged with a double homicide?” Cartman replies.
“Well, but because people have different beliefs,” the woman responds.
“It’s not about belief. It’s about truth,” Cartman says. “Science confirms life begins at conception.”
Kirk <a href="https://x.com/charliekirk11/status/1953290604365885923" target="_blank" rel="noopener">shared the clip</a> on X and wrote, “Not bad, Cartman,” alongside crying laughing emojis. The TPUSA founder also changed his X profile picture to a screenshot of his South Park caricature.
The episode features school counselor Mr. Mackey being fired from his job and deciding to join Immigration and Customs Enforcement. After being hired by ICE immediately, Mackey watches a recruitment video where Noem shoots dogs, which is a reference to her once discussing killing an “untrainable” family pet.
Mackey later gets invited to Mar-a-Lago, where Trump offers to make him the “new face of Homeland Security.” Trump then brings Mackey into his bedroom and introduces him to Satan, who is reading a book in bed. Vance is also present and depicted as Trump’s short-statured servant.
The Season 27 premiere, “Sermon on the ‘Mount,” also depicted the president having a romantic relationship with Satan.

South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone revealed in an interview this week that the famed animated comedy show will do something that it has never done before — go an entire year without releasing any new episodes.
The duo told Vanity Fair that the show would not return for its 27th season until 2025 as they wait for &#8220;Paramount to figure all their s**t out,&#8221; meaning they won&#8217;t do any episodes on the upcoming election.
They indicated they were tired of satirizing Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and are passing up doing more episodes on Trump &#8220;on purpose.&#8221;

&#8220;We’ve tried to do South Park through four or five presidential elections, and it is such a hard thing to—it’s such a mind scramble, and it seems like it takes outsized importance,” Stone said. “Obviously, it’s f**king important, but it kind of takes over everything and we just have less fun. I don’t know what more we could possibly say about Trump.”
They said that it&#8217;s a lot more fun for them to stick to producing the kind of classic material that made the show great in the first place. “It’s just way more fun to be like, Oh, Cartman’s going to dress up like a robot,” Stone said.
The show has always premiered a new season every year it has been on air, dating back to 1997. In recent years, it has also released specials on Paramount+ and Comedy Central.

They said that while culture has shifted because TikTok, the social media app that critics say is controlled by communist China, has incentivized short-form videos, they still see tremendous value in “writing a story and building a frame so that you can do more complicated stuff.”
“We’re the Rolling Stones, man—we’re trying to get out five, six nights a year,” Stone says. “We could do more, but I don’t think it’d be better.”

South Park Creators Announce Show Will Do Something It Never Has Before

The 36-year-old singer, who has made herself a poster child for the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/body-positivity">body positivity</a> movement, shared a “blind duet” reaction to her inclusion on the show. “Guys, my worst fear has been actualized. I’ve been referenced in a South Park episode,” she began in a TikTok video posted on Sunday.
The episode focused on the popularity of semaglutide drugs like <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/ozempic">Ozempic</a> and Monjaro for weight loss. “South Park: The End of Obesity” debuted on May 24.

&#8220;I’m so scared,” she said as the clip started playing.
In the episode, Sharon and Sheila, moms of characters Stan and Kyle, are discussing using weight loss drugs. Sharon says her doctor would not prescribe her medication like Ozempic because she doesn’t have diabetes. Sheila responded by asking how she’s managing her weight if she’s not using those drugs.
“Don’t you know, Sheila?&#8221; Sharon says. &#8220;Now, there’s a whole new obesity drug for those of us who can’t afford Ozempic and Mounjaro.&#8221;
“I controlled all my cravings to be thinner with Lizzo,&#8221; she says, at which point Lizzo makes a surprised face while reacting to the clip.
A commercial for the fictional drug Lizzo starts playing, including a parody of the song from the Ozempic commercial. Sharon makes it clear that the drug doesn’t do anything besides make the user not care about being overweight. 
The faux commercial says Lizzo “makes you feel good about your weight — and it costs 90% less than Ozempic.”
“I’ve lowered my standards and my expectations,” Sharon says, while the real Lizzo continues reacting with shock at the bit.

“70% of patients on Lizzo no longer care how much they weigh,” the fake drug commercial narrator continues. The ad also warns about listening to Lizzo’s music, causing her to say, “Not the f***ing album!” as the commercial cuts to an image of someone bleeding from the ears after listening to her songs. 
The commercial concludes with Sharon saying, “Ask about the power of not giving a f*** with Lizzo.”
&#8220;I really showed the world how to love yourself and not give a f*** to the point where these men in Colorado know who the f*** I am, and put it on their cartoon that’s been around for 25 years,” Lizzo said in conclusion as part of her reaction.
“And I’m gonna keep on showing you how to not give a f***,” she added.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/elon-musk">Elon Musk</a> on Tuesday reacted to recent remarks from &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/star-wars">Star Wars: The Acolyte&#8221;</a> creator <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/yet-another-star-wars-show-wants-to-challenge-the-story-this-is-about-power">Leslye Headland</a> about her new Disney+ show, calling them &#8220;crazier than the &#8216;South Park&#8217; parody.&#8221;
Musk took to <a href="https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1770169640926277928">X</a> and commented on an old clip of the director/showrunner talking about watching &#8220;Frozen&#8221; as an adult and was captivated by &#8220;the concept of true love being between two sisters and not a heterosexual relationship. She said it &#8220;inspired&#8221; her to create a similar story that her parents would have allowed her to watch when she was a younger &#8220;queer&#8221; person.
&#8220;Reality is actually crazier than the South Park parody!” Musk wrote, referencing a &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/gina-carano-skewers-disneys-kathleen-kennedy-over-hilarious-south-park-send-up">South Park&#8221;</a> episode that torched the President of Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kennedy, for recent Disney box office flops, specifically &#8220;Star Wars&#8221; movies that have had little to no connection to the original trilogy.
In the episode titled &#8220;Joining the Panderverse,&#8221; Kennedy is ripped for recycling successful films but replacing the characters with minorities. 
The <a href="https://x.com/ginacarano/status/1718115256055267802?s=20">clip</a> shows one part of the episode where a group of Disney executives tell CEO Bob Iger, &#8220;We don&#8217;t understand it, sir. We keep making the same movie over and over and pandering to everyone, but suddenly it&#8217;s not working.&#8221;

Headland said her new series looks &#8220;at the Jedi as an institution, as a concept, as an entity that has amassed a lot of power. And that&#8217;s good, I&#8217;m not saying that&#8217;s wrong.&#8221;
&#8220;But I do think that when Jodie Turner-Smith has that line at the end of the trailer, when she says, &#8216;It&#8217;s not about good or bad, this is about power and who&#8217;s allowed to use it,&#8217; really I think that&#8217;s the question we’re asking,&#8221; she added. &#8220;That&#8217;s really the question. It&#8217;s not, &#8216;Is somebody good, is somebody bad?&#8217; There&#8217;s an imbalance.&#8221;
&#8220;Someone might be imbalanced morally, but if there&#8217;s a power imbalance, how does that affect the power of Star Wars?&#8221; the director continued. &#8220;And we&#8217;ve never seen the good guys outnumber the bad guys to this extent. I guess that&#8217;s how it&#8217;s different.&#8221;

“South Park” doesn’t believe in half measures.
The Comedy Central series has been delivering brutal takedowns since its very first season.
The pandemic. Trans athletes. The King of Pop. Paris Hilton. Jesse Jackson. PC gone wild. Name the subject, and chances are Stan, Kenny, Kyle, and Cartman have tackled it, sans apology.
The following eight episodes offer “South Park” unleashed. Pity the targets of the show’s satirical cudgel. They may never recover from the animated tongue lashing.
<h2>1. “With Apologies to Jesse Jackson” &#8211; Season 11, episode 1</h2>

Stan Marsh&#8217;s father, Randy, accidentally says the &#8220;n-word&#8221; as a contestant on &#8220;Wheel of Fortune.&#8221; He&#8217;s quickly branded a racist, and the reverberations fall on both his son and the boys&#8217; elementary school.
The episode mocks Jackson for pretending to be the embodiment of black America while initiating a tough conversation about race and the word in question.
It&#8217;s blunt satire, full stop, and an example of how &#8220;South Park&#8221; is willing to explore complicated issues from various angles. It&#8217;s not a lecture, and the laughs are both consistent and, often, uncomfortable.

It’s the episode even “South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone may not be able to get away with today given the trans community’s rage against criticism.
The episode aired in 2019 before the trans issue flared up across the country. Vice Principal Strong Woman announces she’s entering a Strong Woman competition, in part, to inspire female students to be empowered. She’s upstaged by a biological man who transitioned to womanhood mere weeks ago.
And the trans athlete happens to look and sound like Randy “Macho Man” Savage, the wrestling icon from the ‘80s and ‘90s.
Chaos ensues, naturally, with the storyline echoing future conversations about trans athletes and biological differences. Clips from the episode went viral earlier this year, connecting the 2019 satire with modern conversations on the topic.
<h2>3. &#8220;The Worldwide Privacy Tour&#8221; Season 26, Episode 2</h2>

The couple known by their first names, Harry and Meghan, enjoy a rarefied space in pop culture. Mock the duo relentlessly and suffer the consequences. Just ask Piers Morgan, who did just that and <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-61105178" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lost a high-profile gig with “Good Morning Britain.”</a>
“South Park” turned that cultural protection racket on its head.
The episode features a Canadian royal couple who wish to be left alone. And they’ll shout their wishes from the rooftops until every living soul hears them. It’s obviously Harry and Meghan, and the secondary plot involving a quest for victimhood makes the comedy bite even harder.
After the episode aired we learned about Meghan Markle’s <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/06/19/meghan-markle-faked-podcast-interviews-her-voice-added-later-sources/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dubious podcasting tics</a>, a story that may not have been told if “South Park” hadn’t made it culturally acceptable to do so. Her feminist podcast <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/spotify-cancels-second-season-of-meghan-markles-feminist-archetypes-podcast" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ended after just one season.</a> 
<h2>4. “The Jeffersons” Season 8, Episode 6</h2>

What if the biggest pop star on the planet moved to South Park? Even more improbable? An animated series skewers him in ways many were thinking but couldn’t discuss in polite society.
Yes, the Mr. Jefferson in question is a Michael Jackson stand-in, complete with a child named Blanket. The new neighbor can’t connect with adults and dresses like Peter Pan for his young South Park friends.
When the adults accuse him of oddball behavior he cries, “that’s ignorant” in a high-pitched whine. Later, Mr. Jefferson’s face begins to crumble after one too many plastic surgeries.
We all knew about Jackson’s eccentricities, but “South Park” lined them all up for our inspection in one withering, 30-minute broadside. 
A subplot, riffing on the O.J. Simpson case, finds local police trying to frame Mr. Jefferson because he’s wealthy and black. Satire atop satire, and all of it stings. 
<h2>5. “ManBearPig” Season 10, Episode 6</h2>

Former Vice President Al Gore’s climate change mantras are rarely, if ever, questioned in the media. He’s considered an oracle on the subject, even though he’s <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/02/20/al-gores-eco-friendly-investment-firm-owns-shares-in-polluting-companies-report/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">profited off his declarations</a> and some of his predictions have been less than accurate.
“South Park” mocked him all the same.
The episode finds an animated Al Gore tracking down the evil ManBearPig, a creature which feasts on innocent humans. It’s clearly a metaphor for Climate Change, and the episode depicts Gore as an attention seeker first and foremost.
Few, if any, satirists approached Gore in such a fashion before or after the episode.
<h2>6. “Joining the Panderverse” 326th stand-alone episode </h2>

Parker and Stone pay homage to countless YouTubers who have been calling out Kathleen Kennedy’s disastrous Disney tenure. She’s been behind the wheel as “Star Wars,” the MCU, and “Indiana Jones” took sizable stumbles.
The episode finds Cartman dreaming of an alternate universe where he and his buddies are swapped out for diverse versions of themselves.
It gets meaner.
Cartman boils down the Kennedy ethos into a phrase sure to become as ubiquitous as “yada yada yada” and “Not that there’s anything wrong with that” from “Seinfeld.”

<h2>7 &amp; 8. “Cartoon Wars Parts I &amp; II” Season 10, episodes 3 and 4 </h2>

The show featured a bizarre cross-promotion with FOX’s “Family Guy” sitcom. The latter plans to show a character based on Islamic Prophet Muhammad, sending the town of South Park into a frenzy.
Could the series spark violence in the Colorado town or elsewhere?
The two-part episode matters for several reasons. Parker and Stone took the free speech fight into the public arena, coming after the attacks against a Danish newspaper for publishing a cartoon image of the Prophet.
Plus, it’s rare to see Parker and Stone lose a public fight with Comedy Central. The channel opted not to show the Muhammad character illustrated for the series, showing a black screen when the image was supposed to appear. Later, these episodes and several more with <a href="https://deadline.com/2020/06/south-park-episodes-missing-hbo-max-prophet-muhammad-1202969280/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">similar themes have been yanked from various streaming platforms.</a>

Critical mass is a tricky thing. You can’t make it happen by sheer force of will or by dropping a viral video at just the right moment.
The mad scientists at “South Park?” The folks behind the Comedy Central series can muster it with one perfectly timed episode.
The enduring creation of Trey Parker and Matt Stone has a knack for sharing thoughts we’re all having on challenging subjects we’re too shy to share in public.
Once the show’s foul-mouthed lads have a crack at it, suddenly it’s acceptable to speak on it loud and clear.

They did just that earlier this year with “The World-Wide Privacy Tour,” an episode featuring Canadian royalty who looked and sounded just like the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Cultural voices had struggled to critique Harry and Meghan up until then, fearing a similar backlash to what British pundit Piers Morgan faced for defying the royal couple.
Morgan lost a lucrative gig with “Good Morning Britain” for suggesting Meghan wasn’t telling the whole truth about the <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2021/09/01/world/europe/piers-morgan-meghan.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">alleged racism</a> she faced within the royal family and her suicidal thoughts.
The fiery pundit faced an investigation into the comments as well. It wasn’t worth it for other high-profile voices to weigh in on the former “Suits” star.
Cartman and co. had no such fears. And, after South Park’s “Privacy Tour,” it was open season on the royals. The commentary dam had broken. Suddenly, we began to hear stories about how <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/06/19/meghan-markle-faked-podcast-interviews-her-voice-added-later-sources/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dismissive Meghan Markle was</a> about her podcast gig, for example.
One brilliantly satirical episode made that happen.
We just saw something similar with the premiere of “Joining the Panderverse.” The “South Park”special episode skewered Disney executive Kathleen Kennedy for pushing woke on many Mouse House products, including movie reboots like the short-lived shows “National Treasure: Edge of History” and “Willow,” and franchise extensions like “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny”.
It also mocked Hollywood’s aggressive diversity mandates, where classic characters are routinely race-swapped in the name of progress and equity.

YouTubers and Right-leaning influencers have said as much repeatedly over the past few years, but the subject was mostly off-limits to mainstream journalists. Or, if the topic came up, journalists would dismiss it as the ravings of “right wing trolls.”
Suddenly, the hilarious “South Park” satire had even <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/south-park-disney-kathleen-kennedy-gina-carano-1235632407/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Hollywood Reporter weighing in</a> on the topic, exposing it to readers who may not follow the aforementioned YouTube stars. The news site even quoted Gina Carano, the “Terror on the Prairie” star who was famously fired for sharing opinions that clashed with her far-Left industry, in the process.
The magazine wouldn’t share Carano’s views on the subject under normal conditions. When “South Park” brought the issues up, however, it forced the outlet to expand its coverage.
Plus, viewers who never made the connection between inferior Disney content and Kennedy, a veteran Hollywood executive, suddenly did just that.
None of this is new for “South Park.”
The series, which began in 1997, routinely hits controversial subjects sans fear or regret. “The Jeffersons” episode skewered pop superstar Michael Jackson all the way back in 2004, offering an unflinching perspective on the icon’s relationship with young children and plastic surgery overkill.
Even longtime Jackson fans worried about his mental state and accusations of improper behavior with children. “South Park” shouted it from the Comedy Central rooftop, and the public could now reference the series as a portal into difficult conversations around the King of Pop.
The show introduced its “PC Principal” character in 2015, several years before the woke mindset took hold in both Hollywood and the culture at large. The character’s virtue signaling, combined with an aggressive mien that took no prisoners, captured what many would soon fear about the far-Left movement.
Some “South Park” fans even embraced that episode’s title, “Stunning and Brave,” to describe woke theatrics meant to inspire applause (or else…), such as declaring trans star Caitlyn Jenner in such fawning fashion.
Sometimes the “South Park” magic doesn’t happen overnight.
The prime example is <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/south-park-satirizes-transgender-athletes-beating-strong-women" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the 2019 “Board Girls” episode</a> which skewers trans female athletes competing against biological women. The show featured a Randy “Macho Man” Savage-inspired character who becomes a trans woman and crushes the competition.
“I’m not here to talk about my transition, I’m here to kick some f***ing a**,” the character, who transitioned two weeks prior, says.

The installment drew some <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/south-park-mocks-trans-athletes-1254732/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">mild media heat</a> at the time, but hardly as much as if it had come out this year or last.
Ironically, a clip from the episode went viral a few months ago, with even “The Clay and Buck Show” <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubKWk87fuyQ" target="_blank" rel="noopener">bringing it up</a> on their nationally syndicated radio show.
How does “South Park” do it? The series carved a unique niche in pop culture, one that gives it leeway in the raging culture wars. It’s been outrageous for so long that people no longer judge it like other Hollywood content.
It’s just “South Park” being “South Park.”
That, plus the crude and cutesy animation, help it steer clear of cancel culture’s clutches. It helps that the show hits both sides of the cultural and political aisle, to, leaving no one safe from its satire.
The “Panderverse” episode poked fun at conservatives who cry “woke” at every opportunity, for example.
Best of all? Parker and Stone aren’t interested in apologizing for their past “offenses.” Why apologize for sharing what the rest of us already think?

‘South Park’ Says What We’re All Thinking (Again)

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/gina-carano-reacts-after-seeing-emotional-sound-of-freedom-film-calls-on-everyone-to-see-it" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Gina Carano</a> absolutely skewered the president of Lucasfilm Kathleen Kennedy in response to what she called a &#8220;hilarious episode&#8221; of &#8220;South Park&#8221; that blamed the executive for recent Disney box office flops.
In a lengthy post on <a href="https://x.com/ginacarano/status/1718115256055267802?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">X</a>, the 41-year-old actress — who was dropped by Disney in February 2021 over social media posts the company deemed offensive — praised the latest episode from &#8220;South Park&#8221; creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker titled &#8220;Joining the Panderverse.&#8221; In the episode, Kennedy is destroyed for taking successful films and recycling them except with minority women and woke characters.
The clip shows one part of the episode in which a group of Disney executives tell Disney CEO Bob Iger, &#8220;We don&#8217;t understand it, sir. We keep making the same movie over and over and pandering to everyone, but suddenly it&#8217;s not working.&#8221;

Iger replied, &#8220;Then we&#8217;ve got to pander harder!&#8221; The episode&#8217;s version of Kennedy later shared that Iger had showed them an ancient Disney artifact, called the &#8220;panderstone,&#8221; that will make the &#8220;same movie over and over again while appealing to everyone.&#8221; However, it turned out Kennedy turned the stone too many times and ended up tearing a hole in the multiverse.
&#8220;This is the part where KK[Kennedy] demands any YouTubers get censored off of YouTube for sharing and laughing at this hilarious episode,&#8221; Carano wrote in response to the clip.
&#8220;She&#8217;ll [Kennedy] have YouTube disable the thumbs down option because of the ratio she&#8217;ll receive, then she&#8217;ll have her publicist ghouls make sure Variety and Hollywood Reporter run hit pieces about the South Park creators and their families smearing their names through every useful idiot she has under her thumb who would sell their soul to work for Lucas film,&#8221; she added.
&#8220;She&#8217;ll activate her online mob to repeat that the South Park creators are racist, bigot, transphobes, and demand the South Park creators publicly apologize by only using words she approves of and finally she&#8217;ll demand they subject themselves to a re-education course of 45 people in the LBGTQ community zoom call to sit there and listen of how badly they got their feelings hurt all over a little boop of a South Park episode,&#8221; Carano continued.
&#8220;Maybe just maybe the jig is up,&#8221; Carano concluded her post.
After being dropped by Disney, Carano&#8217;s first feature film was with The Daily Wire — &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/with-terror-on-the-prairie-gina-carano-takes-on-the-entertainment-establishment" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Terror On The Prairie</a>.&#8221; The film marked the epic comeback for the former star after she was cut from Lucasfilm&#8217;s popular series &#8220;The Mandalorian&#8221; over several social media posts that were called offensive by some.

Prince Harry told a trauma expert in an interview that aired over the weekend that he does not view himself as a &#8220;victim,&#8221; which comes just a couple of weeks after he and his wife Meghan Markle were mocked on &#8220;South Park.&#8221;
The episode, titled “The Worldwide Privacy Tour,” mocked both royal figures by showing thinly veiled stand-ins for the couple, “The Prince and Princess of Canada,” who claim they seek a life of privacy while seemingly trying to inject themselves into the public spotlight.
“I certainly don’t see myself as a victim,” Harry told Dr. Gabor Maté on Saturday while discussing his book. “I’m really grateful to be able to share my story in the hopes that it will help, empower, encourage others and, hopefully, let people understand — again back to the human experience — [that] we are in some shape and form all connected, especially through trauma.&#8221;
“I know how important it is to share these stories; how you can save a life and improve lives because you’re almost giving people permission to talk about their own stuff and be themselves,” he added.
“I do not and have never looked for sympathy in this,” he added in an apparent reference to the South Park episode.
Markle, Duchess of Sussex, was reportedly furious over how the couple was portrayed in the episode. A source told the Spectator that the Duchess of Sussex was “upset and overwhelmed” by the show’s mockery of the couple and that she “refuses to watch it all” because of how “annoyed” she is by the whole situation.

The New York Post reported that a royal commentator said the couple could pursue legal action over the episode, although that has not materialized.
“According to sources close to the ex-royals, it appears that, like so many things with Meghan and Harry, this may have legal ramifications attached,” royal reporter Neil Sean said. “Their legal team are casting an eye over the episode to see what is wrong, and what could be turned into something more sinister.”

“This appears to be their course of action rather than laughing it off, enjoying the moment and showing the world that they get the joke and understand this is how they may be perceived, and maybe, dare we say, change … dare we?” he continued. “The makers of ‘South Park’ have, as yet, received nothing but I am told they are aware of this and have nothing to fear, simply because they have the legals all over this and know they could not have broadcast it without the watertight details flattened out.”
However, a spokesperson for the couple said that claims that the couple was pursuing legal action were “baseless and boring.”
The Daily Mail noted that the statement from the spokesperson did not address claims that the couple’s lawyers were actively monitoring the show for future attacks, nor did the statement address reports that Markle was angered by the episode.
