Former model <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/chrissy-teigen">Chrissy Teigen</a> weighed in on the discourse currently surrounding <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/social-media">social media</a> following the temporary ban of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/tiktok">TikTok</a>.
The 39-year-old cookbook author said she supports a “ban” of all social media between certain hours of the day, saying this should be instituted by the “government” or an “ethics committee.”
“I personally think that one day there will be the most incredible rule,” Teigen said in a video clip uploaded to her Instagram Stories, according to <a href="https://people.com/chrissy-teigen-says-she-thinks-there-should-be-curfew-on-social-media-following-tiktok-ban-drama-8777146">People</a>. ”I think the government, or some kind of ethics committee — somebody — should shut off social media between 6 p.m and 6 a.m. Leave it all up. Everyone gets to do anything they want, but only between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Shut it off. Done,” she added.
Teigen said she believes life was better before social media took over everyone’s lives.

&#8220;Guys, life was great. Life was awesome before this,” she said. ”I know it’s hard to see it now. But it’s doable. It’s very doable. This doesn’t have to be our lives. And I say this for myself as well because — obviously — I’m on here [social media] right now doing this. But it doesn’t have to define us or be our whole lives,” Teigen said.
The social media influencer has been involved in social media drama in the past, including deleting thousands of old tweets and apologizing for comments she made on X. &#8220;My targets didn&#8217;t deserve them. No one does. Many of them needed empathy, kindness, understanding and support, not my meanness masquerading as a kind of casual, edgy humor,&#8221; she <a href="https://chrissyteigen.medium.com/hi-again-3bb3faffa76d">wrote</a> on Medium in 2021. &#8220;I was a troll, full stop. TikTok restored service on Sunday after the popular social media app briefly went offline on Saturday in response to a new U.S. law that forces its Chinese parent company, ByteDance, to be completely divested from TikTok or else be banned in the U.S., as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/tiktok-restores-service-without-change-after-trump-statement-of-support">reported</a>.
The ban was initiated as a means of ensuring the security of private information from China. Now Trump is saying he’ll extend the deadline to give the company time to comply with the conditions that have been laid out. 
“I will issue an executive order on Monday to extend the period of time before the law’s prohibitions take effect, so that we can make a deal to protect our national security,” Trump said. “The order will also confirm that there will be no liability for any company that helped keep TikTok from going dark before my order.”

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/tiktok" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TikTok</a> said on Sunday that it was restoring service after it briefly went offline on Saturday in response to a new U.S. law that forces its parent company, ByteDance, to be completely divested from TikTok or else be banned in the U.S.
&#8220;In agreement with our service providers, TikTok is in the process of restoring service,&#8221; TikTok said in a statement. &#8220;We thank President Trump for providing the necessary clarity and assurance to our service providers that they will face no penalties providing TikTok to over 170 million Americans and allowing over 7 million small businesses to thrive.&#8221;
TikTok claimed that the issue was about &#8220;the First Amendment&#8221; and &#8220;arbitrary censorship&#8221; when, in reality, it&#8217;s about the company harvesting the data of Americans that can be used to weaponize algorithms to impact how Americans think and behave in line with interests of communist China.
The statement comes after Trump, who led the charge to ban TikTok during his first term in office, posted on social media that he was asking companies to let TikTok stay online.
Trump said that he wants the United States to own 50% of TikTok and said that allowing China to still own the other half would not be a problem.

However, even if Trump issues an executive order on TikTok, there are certain conditions that must be met to allow for the 90-day extension, which include the president having to certify to Congress that:

<li>(B) evidence of significant progress toward executing such qualified divestiture has been produced with respect to such application; and</li>

Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Tom Cotton (R-AR) slammed TikTok&#8217;s statement in a post on X.
&#8220;Any company that hosts, distributes, services, or otherwise facilitates communist-controlled TikTok could face hundreds of billions of dollars of ruinous liability under the law, not just from DOJ, but also under securities law, shareholder lawsuits, and state AGs,&#8221; Cotton posted on X. &#8220;Think about it.&#8221;

President-elect Donald Trump said over the weekend that he will &#8220;most likely&#8221; give <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/tiktok" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TikTok</a>, the social media company owned by the Chinese-controlled company ByteDance, an extension of 90 days to be sold off before it faces being banned in the United States.
Trump made the remarks during an interview with NBC News after the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously upheld a law on Friday that requires ByteDance to be completely divested from the app or be banned from the U.S.
&#8220;I think that would be, certainly, an option that we look at,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;The 90-day extension is something that will be most likely done, because it’s appropriate. You know, it’s appropriate. We have to look at it carefully. It’s a very big situation.&#8221;

President Joe Biden signed the law forcing the app to be sold last April, yet the administration does not want to take credit for it because they are worried about backlash from those who might be negatively impacted if the app ceases operations.
TikTok has said that it will &#8220;go dark&#8221; starting on Sunday, something that the Biden White House claimed was a &#8220;stunt&#8221; as they seek to punt the ball to the Trump administration.
&#8220;We have seen the most recent statement from TikTok,&#8221; said White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. &#8220;It is a stunt, and we see no reason for TikTok or other companies to take actions in the next few days before the Trump administration takes office on Monday.&#8221;
&#8220;We have laid out our position clearly and straightforwardly: actions to implement this law will fall to the next administration,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;So TikTok and other companies should take up any concerns with them.&#8221;

Last night, President Biden gave his farewell address.
On his way out, he decided to give an Eisenhower-like warning. Dwight Eisenhower, in his farewell address, famously inveighed against the military industrial complex.
I happen to be a believer that Eisenhower’s remark was one of the dumber statements he ever made. The military industrial complex theory, which was pushed by a Marxist-leaning sociologist named C. Wright Mills, says that the defense industry drives America toward war. It is a fool&#8217;s way of explaining how foreign policy actually works.
But somehow, Biden found an even bigger fool’s way to explain American policy.
On his way out, he warned about a tech oligarchy. Let&#8217;s be clear. One of the key reasons Biden became president in 2020 was because of the tech oligarchy working with his people — shutting down, for example, the Hunter Biden laptop story so he could win.
It turns out that billionaires disproportionately support Biden and his party. But Biden decided he would weigh in about the supposed “tech oligarchy.”
What Biden really means is that the people he wants to run the country are career bureaucrats and politicians who have never run a popsicle stand.
There are two alternatives. Either the people are going to be left to their own devices to actually hire people, build businesses, and run their own lives — or Joe Biden will run their lives.

Biden has never worked a real job in his entire life. He&#8217;s been politicking since the age of 29. He wasn’t even old enough to be in the Senate when he was elected to the Senate. And now, he&#8217;s 173-years-old, and he inveighed against the oligarchy in which he has been a key cog for his entire adult life.
He <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/speeches-remarks/2025/01/15/remarks-by-president-biden-in-a-farewell-address-to-the-nation/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stated</a>:

They didn’t punish the wealthy. They just made the wealthy pay the by — play by the rules everybody else had to. Workers won rights to earn their fair share. You know, they were dealt into the deal, and it helped put us on the path to building the largest middle class and the most prosperous century any nation the world has ever seen, and we’ve got to do that again.</blockquote>
Biden’s idiotic notion that we have to break the modern robber barons, that it&#8217;s people like Elon Musk and the tech bros who are really the problem, is garbage. 
Who do you think is creating the productivity, the innovation, and the jobs that Americans have? It isn&#8217;t Joe Biden. It isn&#8217;t the government. This is the key conflict of vision between people like Biden and those of us who actually like free markets, free enterprise, and freedom in general. Biden believes that by freedom, we mean the government should allocate to you a particular role in life.
When those of us on the other side refer to freedom, we mean that we should all be able to rise and fall on our own merits, and those actions generate positive externalities for everyone.

It’s repugnant to listen to Biden whine about the oligarchy while he himself has never produced a positive thing in his entire life. Then, he inveighs against people who actually do the producing, who actually do the innovation, who make life better for literally hundreds of millions of people.
Meanwhile, he&#8217;s been a complete leech on the ass of society for five decades, talking about the oligarchs.
You know who is truly an oligarch? Somebody who uses unearned power, somebody who is given power by the American people to crack down on the freedom of others for redistributive purposes. That person is much more of an oligarchy than whatever supposed oligarchy Biden’s talked of.
What a terrible old man.

If you aren’t on X — or Twitter, if you insist on deadnaming it — you will often be surprised to learn about the kinds of things people are arguing about on that platform. In many cases, the debates do not resemble anything that anyone outside of the site is talking about. These debates are often insular and parochial. Groups of people will get into heated disputes that last sometimes for weeks or months or longer, and yet which have no relevance beyond the confines of the platform itself.
I’ll give just one example of millions. Among Right-wingers on X, there has been a long running and quite tedious quarrel over the term “Woke Right.” Various groups of conservatives are accusing each other of being “Woke Right,” as they debate what the term means, and whether it describes anything real. I don’t know where this “Woke Right” idea comes from, but I do know that I’ve never heard a single soul in the three dimensional, physical world ever use the phrase or express any opinion on it one way or another. There are relatively prominent conservatives on X who have spent months locked in combat over a concept that has no real political or cultural relevance whatsoever. Nobody cares about it but them. Needless to say, there are a great many examples of this sort of thing. And even less do I need to say that I have myself been guilty of arguing about things on X that nobody outside of the app cares about. I might even sometimes be the one starting the argument, admittedly.
However, not every debate on X is so trivial. Sometimes the conversation is relevant beyond social media. Sometimes it reflects what’s actually happening in the world. Sometimes — more often now in the Elon era — a debate on X is actually important. And this week there has been one of those kinds of arguments — another round of it, anyway, as this has been a long running dispute. It’s important enough to write about here. And it will lead me to a very crucial point that I want to make, especially for younger people.
The debate revolves around the economic situation that young people in particular are facing today. One side of the argument says that although it is a challenging landscape for young people who are just starting out in the world, the best thing they can do is get an entry level job somewhere and work their way up in the world from that starting point. The other side says that this “bootstraps” mentality is obsolete. Young people have been totally screwed. They can’t just get a job and work their way up. And, they say, telling a young person to go work some low paying customer service job is insulting and out of touch. The game is rigged. American jobs are being stolen en masse by foreigners. The American dream, says this side of the debate, is effectively dead. Therefore the old school “go out there and work your way up the ladder” approach is simply to antiquated to be useful.

As you already guessed, out of the two camps, I tend to fall more into the former. Although the latter camp isn’t wrong about many of the fundamental points they’re making about the system as it&#8217;s currently constructed. I’ll get into that in a moment. 
First, let’s take a look at how this exchange is playing out. I think the debate may be best encapsulated by this. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/christopher-rufo">Chris Rufo</a>, in a series of tweets a couple of days ago, <a href="https://x.com/realchrisrufo/status/1878855931318198421" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote the following</a>:
<blockquote>Every generation has challenges. We currently have huge problems with the cost of housing and a splintering culture, but the economy is strong, incomes have never been higher, trades are hiring apprentices straight out of high school, and tech has enabled a wave of entrepreneurship and high-income &#8220;email jobs&#8221; from anywhere on Earth. We should remember that the Boomers, whatever their faults, had to make their way in a much poorer America and had to navigate war, stagflation, recession, and high interest rates. It&#8217;s never a cakewalk. We should work to provide opportunity for our kids, but should also remind them to be grateful for the opportunities they have. I didn&#8217;t make $50,000 a year or own a car until I was 30, then, after years of struggle in a creative field, things paid off. I could live in Seattle or New York or DC, but choose to live in a small town. It&#8217;s all a tradeoff, and one can make a good life in almost any metro area in the US.</blockquote>
In a follow up, he posted a job listing from Panda Express:
<blockquote>This is basically &#8220;full employment.&#8221; The Panda Express near my house is offering $70k/yr plus benefits for the assistant manager. You can make $100k/yr working at Chipotle for a few years and working up to store manager.</blockquote>
A prominent account that goes by the handle &#8220;Bronze Age Pervert&#8221; responded in a way that I think captures the general attitude of the other side of this argument. 
He wrote:
<blockquote>This is an absurd thing to post. This environment is the worst in decades and maybe ever in America to build wealth through any normal career. It’s the worst work environment and worst prospects for wealth accumulation ever. For a young person it’s next to impossible in fact even with the best degrees and “elite” job. It’s absurd and a joke to see conservative pundits, who work as writers and commentators in media and aren’t frankly exemplars of Protestant capitalist enterprise recommend working at Chipotle and UPS for a few smart young right wing men who are deploring decades-long trends. Maybe you’ll care to also give them advice on manning up and marrying a local sweet girl/highschool sweetheart.</blockquote>
The debate spiraled from there. A writer named Aaron McIntyre agrees with Bronze Age Pervert. He posted: 
<blockquote>If you are worried about Andrew Tate&#8217;s influence on young men telling them to climb the fast food ladder probably isn&#8217;t the move.</blockquote>
Another commentator named Scott Greer chimes in with a similar sentiment: 
<blockquote>Conservatives wonder why young men turn to Andrew Tate when they tell the same demographic to be content with fast food work and marrying much-older single moms.</blockquote>
Someone else gave his perspective. He said that it is possible for a young person to get started and succeed even in this tough environment. He offered the example of his own 22-year-old son, who he said has a job at UPS making $70,000 a year. He’s about to marry his girlfriend who is ten years older.
To that, someone else, in a post that has 27,000 likes, said: 
<blockquote>Poor kid is grinding, about to marry a 32 year old, living in his dad’s basement, stuck in a dead end job. He will likely never have kids or own a home. Imagine how out of touch you have to be to post this proudly. This is losing. But boomer dad imagines everything is ok.</blockquote>
Mike Cernovich is on the other side. What we might call the bootstraps camp. He thinks — and so do I — that work is not supposed to be fun. It’s not even necessarily going to be fulfilling. But you have to do it because that’s life and always has been. He wrote: 
<blockquote>You’re supposed to hate your job. That’s why it’s a job. Someone pays you because they don’t want to do it. Most of us had s*** jobs. It’s nothing special. You’re not a snowflake. Fight Club and Office Space covered this decades ago. Work sucks. This isn’t new.</blockquote>
But it’s this reply to that post that I think best captures the essence — and the fatal flaw — in the, I guess, anti-bootstraps position. Someone responded: 
<blockquote>The reason why jobs were worth it is that you could afford a home in a nice high trust society and support a family. Why do it now? I will not be reduced to an f-ing serf.</blockquote>
Jobs are not worth it, he says. Jobs make you a serf. This is why it’s worth talking about this very online controversy. It’s not just online. It seems clear to me that a lot of demoralized young people feel exactly this way. They think jobs aren’t worth it. There’s no point in even trying. They have it harder than anyone has ever had it. It’s hopeless. Everything is unfair. And so on. 
These young people are being encouraged down this hopeless road by people who are considered intellectuals on the right, like Bronze Age Pervert, who we recall said that today’s work environment is the worst ever — the worst ever, in history — and that it is “next to impossible” to become successful and accumulate wealth. They’re told by these supposed thought leaders that they should ignore anyone who even suggests that they start off in a low paying job working customer service or something similar. And a lot of young people — especially young men — have heeded this advice, to their own detriment.
So here’s what I want to say, after this very long preamble where I unfortunately had to give you a blow by blow account of a Twitter war. I acknowledge that young people face serious challenges starting out in the workforce. I can clearly see and do not deny that it is harder than it should be for a young man to get into a stable career, buy a house, and start a family. I agree that we are importing foreigners to take American jobs. That is hideously evil and unfair. I am in favor of any policy that puts an end to that scam. I agree with the anti-bootstrappers on that point. They will hear no argument from me.
Okay. Once we’ve agreed on that, what then? What is a young adult supposed to actually do tomorrow? This is the question that matters. It’s the question that, in these kinds of conversations, most people just skip over. It reminds me of my frequent debates with the Red Pillers and Manosphere where they declare that the dating scene is a disaster and young men have no hope of meeting a quality woman and building a stable family. My question to them is always the same: What do you want these young men to do then? What do you want them to actually do with their lives? Give up and die alone? What do you want them to do?
I ask that here as well: What should they do tomorrow? I’m not asking what the president should do or what congress should do or what government agencies should do. I’m asking what the actual individual human beings we’re talking about here — the newly minted young adults — should do. They will wake up in the morning and brush their teeth and eat breakfast — and then what? That young man who is 22-years-old and has no job. If you believe it is deeply insulting to suggest that he should go apply at Panda Express or UPS, what do you want him to do instead? What do you recommend? What is your plan?

Complaining about it incessantly on Twitter is not a plan. Calling for policy solutions is fine and I agree that we should work on those. But what about tomorrow? What is the demoralized young person supposed to actually do in his life tomorrow? Don’t deflect. Don’t tell me about the H1-B program. I think we should abolish it. I don’t want to import any foreign labor at all. But a young man who wakes up in the morning can’t abolish the H1-B program. That’s not something he can accomplish tomorrow. So what should he do? Should he post about abolishing it? Fine. That takes about 60 seconds. Let’s give him 30 minutes for a series of tweets about H1-B visas. Okay. What next? How&#8217;s he spending the rest of his day? If you have no answer to that question, then your contribution to this conversation is worthless. You have nothing of value to offer to this young man.
Here’s what I say. I say that he must get up onto his feet in spite of it all and begin to pursue his goals one small step at a time. He must get the best job he possibly can, which will almost certainly not be a very good job or a very fun job. But he is not in a position where he can afford to worry about what is fun. He has to work as hard as he can to achieve what he can. He must gain experience and establish himself. And if he’s just starting out in the world, the best job is whatever job he can get. You have to start somewhere. And a job is better than no job.
He has a difficult road. Every young man in his position throughout the entire history of the Earth has had a difficult road. Life itself is a difficult road. Is his road more difficult than the road that young men of my generation had to walk? Perhaps. I entered adult life right around the time of a great recession and housing market collapse. It wasn’t exactly an easy path. I worked many awful customer service jobs that I hated with every fiber of my being. My hatred of them fueled me even more. I was more determined to become successful so that I would never again have to work the kind of job where you wear a name tag and get paid by the hour. But I had to work those jobs in order to get to a point where I didn’t have to work those jobs. That’s how it goes. So I am not recommending that anyone do anything that I have not already done. Is it harder now? Maybe. Is it harder than it was for the Boomers when they were just starting out? Probably, although I think the comparison is overstated.
Is it the hardest ever? Is a young person in America today facing “next to impossible odds” and unprecedented hardship? Of course not. That is an absurd suggestion. If you are a 22-year-old man today, you may have it a bit harder than your parents and grandparents, but that is as far as it even theoretically goes. World history did not begin in 1955. No matter what, you and I and our parents all had it and have it easier than the vast majority of human beings who have ever existed on the planet. We are all in the top 1% of the easiest lives ever lived. Which is why, even with all of our problems, you wouldn’t want to live anywhere else on the planet today. And if you had a time machine, the farthest you might want to go back is the middle of the 20th century and no farther. And if you did go back even that far, you would almost certainly discover that it was not the cakewalk you imagine it to be.

None of this diminishes the difficulties that you, as a young person, are currently experiencing. I only mean to put it in context. The context is important. Because if you think that nobody has ever had it harder than you, you may be justified in wondering whether success is simply impossible in your case. After all, no one has ever succeeded against odds so great as what you are facing. But the point is that many millions of people have succeeded against odds many times greater. This should inspire you, not offend you. Either way, my message to the young man is that he has to get up and walk. Even if he did have the hardest life anyone has ever lived on this or any other planet. Still I would say, well then, get up and move forward. What else are you going to do? Lie down and die?
My attitude is condemned by some Right-wingers whose doomerism has now descended to a point where they will call you a traitor for suggesting that a young man has any agency at all in his life. They want to hear nothing but misery porn and hopelessness. Anything else makes you a Boomer cuck. That’s because they don’t actually give the slightest damn about the young people they pretend to be speaking for.
Instead we end up with the “solution” (which I’ve seen repeated in different forms countless times) offered by the commenter I mentioned earlier. Jobs aren’t “worth it,” he says. He will not be a serf. Instead he will, presumably, live off of the government or his parents. But here’s the problem: that’s not how you escape being a serf. That’s how you become one. You are volunteering for a life of failure and servitude. Working at Panda Express is beneath you, but to eat it for lunch on your dad’s dime because you refuse to support yourself is not beneath you?
That makes no sense.
So again I ask: what is your plan? What are you going to do tomorrow? Some people like to mock the “bootstraps” mentality but they have given young people precisely zero alternatives. They have not given them any idea of what they should do tomorrow. And to me that is the most important and useful question here. What should you do tomorrow? My answer is simple. Tomorrow you should get up, put on your shoes, and get started.

A former Alaska Airlines <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/airlines">flight attendant</a> has started a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/gofundme">GoFundMe</a> following the termination of her employment.
Nelle Diala said she was “wrongfully fired” from her “dream job” after making a video of herself twerking in the aisles of an empty plane and uploading it to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/tiktok">TikTok</a>. The flight attendant said she was let go for violating the airlines’ social media policy.
Diala defended her actions, saying she didn’t post which airline she worked for and that the clip was “harmless.”
“I never thought a single moment would cost me everything,” the former Alaska Airlines employees wrote in the GoFundMe <a href="https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-for-a-wrongfully-fired-flight-attendant">description</a>.
“I worked as a flight attendant for Alaska Airlines for over six months. In between those 6 months both of my English bulldogs died unexpectedly, my relationship was rocky because of the time I spent away, but I loved my job—meeting new people, seeing the world, and creating a safe, welcoming environment for passengers. It wasn’t always easy, but I was proud of what I did,” she said.
She continued, “One day, during a layover, I posted a lighthearted video on my personal social media account. It was a harmless clip that was recorded at 6 am while waiting 2 hours for pilots. I was also celebrating the end of probation and making it out of a hard upbringing in San Francisco, CA.”

“The video went viral overnight, but instead of love and support, it brought unexpected scrutiny,” Diala wrote. “Although it was a poor decision on my behalf I didn’t think it would cost me my dream job.”
“My employer accused me of violating their social media policy. I explained that the video wasn’t intended to harm anyone or the company, but they didn’t want to listen. Without warning, they terminated me. No discussion, no chance to defend myself—and no chance for a thorough and proper investigation,” she went on.
“Losing my job was devastating. I’ve always been careful about what I share online, and I never thought this video, which didn’t even mention the airline by name, would cost me my career. Now, I am trying to figure out how to move forward.”
Diala went on that she “learned” from her mistakes and encouraged people to donate to her campaign. As of Thursday afternoon, she had raised $1,700 of her $12,000 goal.

I am a woman with no breasts. I haven’t had a normal female body since I was 20-years-old, but it’s not because of a tragic accident, birth defect, or cancer. My body was born healthy, my breasts grew fine, and in most ways I am a normal 28-year-old. As developmentally appropriate, I dream of finding a mate, getting married, and having children, but this natural ambition has been delayed because instead of learning the necessary life skills to mature into adulthood, my teens and early twenties were spent in hell.
I grew up in a spiritual body modification cult: transgenderism.
A quirky tomboy on the autism spectrum, I didn’t dress or act like other girls my age, and with my emotional struggles with severe depression and anxiety, I believed I would make a bad mother and never wanted children.
In fact, I thought I made a terrible girl in general. I never wore makeup or felt pretty, and I related only to male characters in the media. Puberty, along with social awkwardness and alienating idiosyncrasies, was rough and lonesome. By the time I was 14, my Tumblr blog was my sole source of connection.
True Christian families would have provided more patience, love, and acceptance, but my father was not a Godly man. Emotionally weak and tyrannical, my father raged and tormented me for most of my adolescence, calling me worthless, disgusting, and unwanted. While he screamed and laughed I locked myself in my room, in tears. Though Catholic and compassionate, my mother failed to protect me, and the abuse endured.
Besides the hidden abuse, my Midwestern family was of typical democratic persuasion, supporting increased public school funding, feminism, and gay marriage. Along with my dad’s abusive messages, I absorbed Leftist views, and when joining Tumblr was ecstatic to participate in social justice causes like Black Lives Matter, smashing the patriarchy, and of course, queering one’s gender.

I was 15 when I came out as nonbinary, a revelation that felt like my androgyny and nonconformity were finally appreciated. Tumblr activists rejoiced. My Left-leaning advanced English teacher who ran the school’s Gay-Straight Alliance club validated my “genderqueer” identity, and my progressive peers sympathized with my unconventional appearance under the queer label.
In my naivety, I thought gender identity would free me from the conventional standards of femininity that I had always rejected. I wanted to be loved as an eccentric personality, not be the helpless female victim that both woke discourse and my father instilled was my destiny.
Though I was suicidal with untreated PTSD from childhood abuse, gender ideology and its well-intentioned but ignorant leftist champions taught me that distress around my body and identity meant I was trans, that gender dysphoria could only be cured through medicalization.
At my LGBTQ-inclusive college, my trans-identifying professor of “Sociology of Sexuality” groomed me into the body modification cult ritual of injecting testosterone. I was prescribed the steroid at 19 in a one hour appointment — the compassionate LGBT clinic nurse practitioner nodding along with the hoax that if a patient is suicidal with gender issues, they must urgently need hormones, not counseling which is slandered as “conversion therapy.”
The “life-saving care” predictably caused a mental breakdown as my body masculinized and I mentally deteriorated. Then, after only seven months of HRT, I was approved for surgery. At 20, before I was legally old enough to buy alcohol, my breasts were sliced off and thrown in the trash. It would be two more years of trauma living as a trans-identified “gay man” before I would be correctly diagnosed with PTSD and realize that I was never a boy, just a wounded girl. I was always meant to be a woman. At 22 I began detransitioning, and I wasn’t alone.

Since 2019, I and other detransitioners like <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/author/chloe-cole" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Chloe Cole</a>, Prisha Moseley, and Ritchie Herron have blown the whistle on transgender “health.” Victims have found their voices, exposed their scars, and formed coalitions across the world via the free speech app X.
Detransitioners connect with concerned parents, professionals, and journalists in independent media who are mortified to learn that the unthinkable has happened in Western nations–brainwashing, mutilation, and sterilization of mentally ill children and vulnerable young adults.
How did liberalism cannibalize itself so abhorrently?
Like the currently trans-identified, detransitioners were once quirky individualists who believed in the progressive promise of a free and just society, one where the disenfranchised were accepted, helped, and raised up into a diverse rainbow of love and tolerance. We advocated for bodily autonomy, mental health awareness, and voted blue no matter what, just like good, responsible citizens should. So we thought.
The Left failed its vulnerable. It lied to autistic, confused, mentally ill teens telling them their bodies were wrong, and society was somehow to blame. The Left made it “transphobic” for a therapist to question a mentally ill patient’s irrational beliefs, but “inclusive” for educators to teach that “male” and “female” are outdated and hurtful.
As I awoke to the horrors of what was done to my body in the name of progress, I also awoke to the callous nihilism of the Left overall. Queer ideology is anti-progress, anti-human, anti-reality. Through grueling years of daily therapy and healing in my mid twenties I not only became ex-trans, but ex-Left. As I studied interpersonal abuse dynamics like those I grew up in with my dad, I saw the same pattern of manipulation and gaslighting occur from the Left when my friends or I spoke of detransition. Immediately upon realizing the illusions we suffered, in the eyes of our former comrades, we become Right-wing bigots, subhuman.
For the raw, comprehensive story of why girls transition and how to detransition and recover, I have written a memoir releasing in late 2025, “Surviving the Trans Myth.” Detransitioners take healing from the biggest medical scandal of our time into our own hands, as the love from leftist institutions evaporates once their facade is exposed.
The Left claims to care about trauma victims, but detransitioners prove otherwise. I have tried to publish articles and do interviews with leftist outlets but have been met with worse than ignorance–avoidance, denial, apathy.
Once an emotionally-dysregulated queer activist who thought Trump would slaughter the trans population, I was hurt over the cultist&#8217;s “conservative” accusations until I realized some things are worth conserving.

When I was approached by Turning Point USA Productions to share my story in a mainstream conservative documentary, that old leftist fear was replaced with newfound strength to fight for what was left of my body–my heart, mind, and soul. The film explains the hydra of gender ideology and its history, exhibiting how it crept into every institution and exploded into online youth culture, while following personal stories of detransitioners’ struggle for self-acceptance, parents Adam Vena and Harrison Tinsely who lost custody of their sons for not affirming their trans identity, and professionals like Dr. Joe Burgo, a psychotherapist who despite being an expert on shame, cannot treat gender dysphoric patients without losing his license.
As for me, the night I watched <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/videos/identity-crisis">Identity Crisis</a> debut and saw my trauma on the big screen was a bittersweet coalescence of grief and gratitude.
Though I’ve moved on from the cult, nihilism, and mental illness, acknowledging the magnitude of loss will always create some self-doubt about fulfilling my dreams. After the film ended, I cried for the woman I could have been:
“I just want to be a normal woman. I want to have a normal, feminine, beautiful body. But I never will.”
My sexual organs were removed because nobody cared to help me process my childhood abuse that made me direct hatred inward. I am thankful to be the woman I am, but this was all unnecessary.
If there is one lesson I’ve learned from leaving the Left, it’s that the Right must step up where the Left has failed. Conservatives have an opportunity to offer a counter-narrative that prioritizes safeguarding children and promoting thoughtful, evidence-based approaches to gender issues.
Here are a few steps the Right can take:

<li>Advocate for Responsible Policies: Speak on legislation that ensures patients receive thorough mental health evaluations before accessing medical interventions. Protect parental rights while fostering environments that encourage open dialogue rather than ideological conformity.</li>
<li>Support Detransitioners: Create spaces where detransitioners can share their stories without fear of judgment or erasure. Acknowledge their experiences as survivors and offer healing from whatever toolkit you have.</li>
<li>Promote Mental Health: Address the root causes of gender distress — including social isolation, sexual confusion, and mental health issues — rather than colluding with the transition placebo.</li>
</ul>
Detransition is a testament to human resilience and the desire for growth even in the face of immense pain and loss. My story is not just a cautionary tale but a call to action. It is a plea for compassion, responsibility, and courage from all sides of the political spectrum.
The fight for a healthier, stronger, and more truthful life starts with us.

The online prostitution website OnlyFans has been in the news quite a lot recently. Last week a prominent OnlyFans prostitute went viral for propositioning a Five Guys employee while he was on the clock at the burger restaurant. Fortunately, the young man kept his dignity and turned her down.
This week, the same predatory degenerate — I think we should treat these people like mass shooters and try not to use their names, when possible— has now claimed that she set a “world record” by having sex with 1,000 men in a 24-hour period. You often hear people, especially conservatives, say that they feel sorry for women like this. I have to admit I don’t. I reserve all of my sympathy for whoever owns the AirBnB they used for this stunt. You’ll have to go in there with hazmat suits to fumigate that room.
Now, you may remember a few weeks ago the story of the OnlyFans prostitute who had sex with one hundred men. These are not the same people. That woman also planned to jump in bed with a thousand men, but she was apparently beaten to the punch. There is now an arms race among cyber hookers to see who can have sex with the most men in a day. Eventually someone is going to figure out a way to crack a million, which will be a pace of about 11 men a second. I don’t see how that’s physically possible right now, but someone will figure it out. This insatiable quest for sexual self-debasement will be the primary driver of scientific and technological advancement in the future, I have no doubt.
Needless to say, business over at OnlyFans is thriving. Back in the fall, it was reported that the website’s revenue for the previous year had cracked $1.3 billion. They are generating all of that money from the approximately 300 million “fan” accounts on the site. But the “fans” are all there for the hookers, or as OnlyFans refers to them: creators. This euphemism makes no sense, of course, because these women aren’t creating anything. They are selling their bodies — that which has already been created, by God Almighty — to the lowest bidder. They are profiting from their own degradation and humiliation. This is not an act of creation, but of destruction — self-destruction.

But whatever you call these women, how many are there? According to recent reports, there are currently about 1.4 million American women producing pornography for OnlyFans. 1.4 million. That number is undoubtedly a severe undercount. It doesn’t count all the women who “created” on OnlyFans in the past. And it doesn’t count the women who use other platforms to sell their bodies. All in all, it’s impossible to know exactly how many women in this country have elected to become prostitutes. We only know that the number, whatever it is, is well into the millions.
This is a truly unprecedented circumstance. Prostitution itself is not new or unprecedented. It is the world’s oldest profession, as the saying goes. And there’s nothing necessarily new about having such a high percentage of women in a given population turning to prostitution to make a living. You could almost certainly find more per capita prostitutes in most third world countries today. Historically, it’s thought that something like 1 in 5 women in 18th century London were prostitutes — 20% of the female population. There are a lot of OnlyFans “creators.” But there aren’t that many, percentage-wise. So the sheer numbers do not reveal the full scope of this problem.
As I tried to explain a few days ago, although prostitution has always been prevalent in basically all human societies, in one form or another, it has almost always been the province of young, poor, desperate women. You would have to drive down to the sections of the city where these women congregated. That’s because prostitution was not a part of polite, mainstream society. It was kept out on the fringes, in the shadows, in the dank, dark places where normal people would never want to go.
That is all changing now, and very rapidly. Suddenly, prostitution has become a career option, or a way to earn extra spending cash, for middle class and upper middle class women. The kinds of women who would never stand on a physical street corner now have the opportunity to sell their bodies on a virtual street corner. And a depressing, even terrifying, number of women have jumped at that chance. Some of them have even become multi-millionaires in the process. That is another thing that separates old fashioned prostitution from the newer variety. There are OnlyFans “creators” making $20 or $30 million a year. The highest paid star running backs in the NFL don’t make that much.
That’s not to say that most of the hookers on OnlyFans are raking in millions. The sad reality is that the vast majority are debasing and dehumanizing themselves for the sake of a few hundred bucks a month at most. They could earn as much selling homemade candles on Etsy. They could earn significantly more if they went out and got real jobs. Instead they choose to become masturbatory aides for random, unseen men. And in return they make only enough money to feed their Starbucks habit. It is hard to imagine something more pathetic than that.
But even this does not fully capture the width and breadth of this crisis. It’s not just that so many women are becoming prostitutes. And it’s not just that women who have many other options are choosing to be prostitutes anyway. It’s that, through platforms like OnlyFans, prostitution — or “sex work,” as it is euphemistically called — is now mainstream. It is a part of popular culture in a way that it never was before. It has been validated, accepted, and therefore elevated, so that prostitution is not just a common practice, but a conventional one. Prostitution may be the oldest profession but it was never considered a “normal” one. Until now.

This didn’t happen out of the blue. The stage was set over the course of decades, with the proliferation of internet pornography. Nearly all of the moral guardrails around sex were torn down and replaced with a flimsy, woefully insufficient consent-based moral structure which says that anything is permissible so long as both parties verbally agree to it. But it turns out that just because both parties agree to something, that doesn’t make the thing good, or acceptable, nor does it mitigate the harm done by it. If you sacrifice your dignity while robbing someone else of theirs, it doesn’t matter that you consented to it. A thing is not dignified merely because it was done on purpose, with the willful acquiescence of all parties.
Most of all, we have removed shame from society. At least we have removed it from the things that are actually shameful. History shows that we can put an end to pretty much any type of conduct, or drive it into the shadows and out of public view so that very few people engage in it, simply by using shame. We stopped shaming whorish behavior, and now we have soccer moms turning to prostitution for some extra spending money. One follows from the other.
50 years ago, around half of all adults in the country smoked cigarettes. Now that number is down to about 10%. We have cast cigarette smokers out to the edges of society, and this has been accomplished largely through shame and social pressure. Our culture has relentlessly demonized cigarettes as disgusting, dangerous, and low class, and as a result cigarettes went from cool and mainstream to obnoxious and odious. It used to be that you could smoke cigarettes anywhere. Now cigarette smokers are given an eight foot wide box outside, 100 feet from entrance of any building. Society is more welcoming of sex offenders than cigarette smokers at this point.
Now, I think the anti-cigarette campaigns are quite overdone and hysterical. My point is only that when a behavior is targeted and shamed — even an addictive one — you will end up with less of it, and when it does happen, it will happen out of view, on the margins, where shameful things belong.
We cannot get rid of prostitution entirely. It will always be one of the unsightly barnacles that attaches itself to the hull of civilization. But that’s what it should be. A slimy, crustaceous thing clinging to the outside of the ship, below the water line. Not sitting up on deck, reclining on a beach chair in full view, while the wait staff serves it margaritas.

This kind of behavior should be shamed. That goes for the customers, the men. Most people aren’t hesitant to call them out, nor should they be. But it also goes for the women. The women who choose this lifestyle. They are not resorting to it out of desperation, or forced into it. We should look at that choice with disgust and contempt, not acceptance and understanding. We should treat it with shame. Which is the primary reason why OnlyFans and all similar platforms should be outlawed. Prostitution is already illegal in most jurisdictions. It makes no logical sense that prostitution should be legal only if it is done with a camera and sold for a subscription. Why should the more accessible version of the thing be legal? If anything, it should be the other way around. Though I prefer for both versions to be banned. Would banning it stop women from selling their bodies online? No, not entirely. But it would go a long way towards ostracizing the behavior so that otherwise normal and financially comfortable people would not engage in it.
There is one side of the ideological divide that wants to actively normalize the most debased forms of human behavior. And the other side which, though not seeking to normalize it, has largely lost the wherewithal and appropriate sense of moral indignation to treat shameful things as shameful. Which is why the conversation around OnlyFans so often centers on how much pity we should have for the prostitutes, and how hard their lives must be, and the deep sadness you can see in their poor little puppy dog eyes. There is almost no one stating plainly what used to be commonly understood: that this kind of conduct is disgusting and reprehensible, and we are revolted by it. That message is harsh and impolite. It also happens to be true. It is honest. And if the recent history of our culture should have taught us anything, it’s that it is better to be honest than polite.

With the Supreme Court prepared to rule on whether the Chinese social media app TikTok — which has elicited warnings from legislators of its pernicious influence in the United States — could be banned in the United States, another Chinese-owned social media app is gaining adherents at a rapid rate.
ByteDance, which owns TikTok, will likely have to sell the social media platform by January 19. Otherwise, it will be shut down in the U.S., unless the Supreme Court rules in favor of the Chinese social media app.
“Congress and the president were concerned,” Supreme Court Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh has <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/01/10/us/politics/supreme-court-tiktok-ban-law.html">stated</a>, “that China was accessing information about millions of Americans, tens of millions of Americans, including teenagers, people in their 20s.” That possibility could lead to China using the personal information for spying or blackmail. Additionally, concern has been expressed over disinformation purveyed from China.
Meanwhile, the social media app Xiaohongshu, which means “little red book” in Mandarin, “was the most downloaded free app in the U.S. Apple store on Tuesday,” The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/01/14/business/tiktok-rednote-xiaohongshu-app.html?partner=slack&amp;smid=sl-share" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. “The Americans on Xiaohongshu have rallied under the hashtag ‘TikTokrefugee,’ which had been viewed 100 million times and sparked around 2.5 million discussion threads on the app by Tuesday.”
“Little Red Book” also happens to be the title of a book of sayings by Mao Zedong, the tyrannical former leader of Communist China. Under Mao, a reported 40 to 80 million victims died of starvation, persecution, prison labor, and mass executions.
In August 2023, Florida GOP Sen. Marco Rubio, who has led the fight to ban TikTok, wrote in an <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/08/08/as-tiktok-comes-for-american-businesses-its-past-time-to-ban-it/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">opinion piece</a>,  “TikTok’s public-policy chief blatantly lied under oath when he denied US data is stored in China. ByteDance, TikTok’s China-based parent company, was caught in October using the app to spy on American journalists.”
“Almost a third of the country uses TikTok semi-regularly,” Rubio pointed out. He delineated how TikTok was undercutting American companies by selling products more cheaply through its app. “Who, for that matter, will even be aware of American goods on the market when TikTok’s algorithm begins — as it surely will — to favor Chinese sellers?” he asked.

“China’s totalitarian regime hates the United States and is bent on displacing us as the world’s greatest power,” Rubio wrote. “If TikTok users believe their sensitive data are safe in Beijing’s hands — that Beijing wouldn’t use those data to influence, coerce, extort or spy on them in the case of a geopolitical conflict­­ — they need to think again.”
In March 2023, Rubio and Iowa GOP Senator Joni Ernst introduced the <a href="https://www.rubio.senate.gov/rubio-ernst-introduce-bill-to-deny-federal-funds-to-tiktok-partners/#:~:text=U.S.%20Senators%20Marco%20Rubio%20(R%2DFL)%20and%20Joni%20Ernst,partnership%2C%20or%20advertisement%20with%20TikTok." target="_blank" rel="noopener">No Funds for Enablers of Adversarial Propaganda Act</a> to deny federal funds to any individual or entity with an agreement, partnership, or advertisement with TikTok.
“Chinese-owned TikTok is a threat, but some entities, including our nation’s airports, are still willing to accept advertising dollars from the company. They are either naive, greedy, or both. Regardless, they shouldn’t receive taxpayer dollars if they are going to accept money from or partner with TikTok. These companies need to stop enabling Chinese Communist Party propaganda and espionage efforts,” Rubio <a href="https://www.rubio.senate.gov/rubio-ernst-introduce-bill-to-deny-federal-funds-to-tiktok-partners/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stated</a>.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: the Right must stop cheering on bad people who don’t care about their principles.
Today’s case: Andrew Tate.
Now, let me say at the outset, I’m not upset at all with anyone interviewing Tate. Go for it. Have at it. There are lots of great questions to ask him. But that’s not what’s happening here. What’s happening is that people are dishonestly conflating “interviewing” Tate with cheering on Tate — applauding him, talking about how brave and wonderful he is while he rips off thousands of people with his scam Hustlers University and preaches the virtue of treating women in a way you would never allow anyone to treat your wife or daughter.
No one is saying you can’t have Tate on your show. It’s a free country. What I’m saying is that if you claim you are a conservative and have someone truly disgusting on your show, and you proceed to tout them, praise them, and nod along to everything they say, you’re doing more than “platforming” — you are becoming a propagandist for that person. A person who purports to stand for Biblical values, American values, and traditional values has a moral obligation to ask Tate hard questions about his actions, beliefs, and past — not help him falsely rewrite his legal record or ignore all he has actually said while nodding enthusiastically.

Tate isn’t a conservative politician trying to push conservative policies, with part of the job being to separate out his agenda from his personal behavior. He’s an online troll who revels in precisely the evils conservatives hate. It’s his entire, self-stated persona. If you don’t ask about that, you’re not doing your job.
Now, I get the appeal of Andrew Tate. For decades, the hatred of traditional masculinity has been so strong, so thoroughgoing throughout the media and politics, that people have run away from traditional masculinity altogether. Young men were basically told they were useless, if not outright toxic. That left a vacuum. And Tate filled that vacuum with masculinity, but its ugliest iteration — not a responsible masculinity that protects women, children, and civilization, but the sort of masculinity that tears everything good down.
Tate’s basically playing a WWE heel, and he knows it. He says he wants to be the most hated man on Earth, and he professes to make money off of that — and that’s what he’s telling the truth about.
But here’s the thing: Andrew Tate is a crap sandwich. He presents differently to different audiences: He’ll present as a sort of low-rent anti-feminist talking head for people on the Right, bashing Left-wing wokeism; he’ll present as an anti-Semitic radical who’s willing to violate any taboo for the fringes; and he’ll pretend to be an upstanding person who cares about family values when he’s sitting down with someone conservative.
But what he really is, in the end, is a con artist.
And an evil con artist at that.

Last week the news broke that Meta — the company that owns Facebook, Instagram, and half the internet — claims it will be pulling back drastically from its censorship policies. Free speech will reign again on Facebook, supposedly. The CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, appeared on Joe Rogan a couple of days ago to elaborate on this decision. Much of what he says in the conversation — along with the entire conversation itself — would have been unthinkable four or five years ago. But times are rapidly changing.
Specifically, in the interview, Zuckerberg affirmed that there&#8217;s nothing wrong with a masculine culture in a workplace — and that, in fact, a lot of companies would benefit from it. Imagine that. Watch:

Eight years ago, these are the kinds of ideas that would&#8217;ve — and if you recall the case of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fired-google-engineer-james-damore-dropped-his-lawsuit-against-company" target="_blank" rel="noopener">James Damore</a> — did get rank-and-file employees fired at Google. And now the head of a major Big Tech company is saying it.
Of course, the obvious response to this interview is that Zuckerberg doesn&#8217;t actually believe any of this. He&#8217;s just saying it because Trump won the election, and he wants to cozy up with power. And that&#8217;s almost certainly true. But it doesn&#8217;t fully capture what&#8217;s going on — which is that there&#8217;s also been a major shift in American culture this time around. After all, Trump won the election back in 2016, too. And Zuckerberg didn&#8217;t say anything like this. Instead his companies reacted by entrenching themselves even deeper on the Left. Now the exact opposite is happening.
In the interview, Zuckerberg suggested that some of Facebook&#8217;s censorship was the result of pressure by the Biden administration, although he claims to have resisted some of it. Watch:

Of course, it wasn&#8217;t just &#8220;vaccine side effects&#8221; that the Biden administration wanted Facebook to censor. They also wanted Facebook to censor the Hunter Biden laptop story, for obvious reasons. It was a damning account of the Biden family&#8217;s corruption, and no one could really dispute its accuracy because it came directly from Hunter Biden&#8217;s laptop. And Facebook went along with that, too, on the ridiculous theory that the laptop was really some secret scheme by Russian intelligence.
It goes without saying that Facebook could have gone public with these concerns at any time in the last several years. They didn&#8217;t need to wait until Trump won a second term. So, no, we shouldn&#8217;t &#8220;trust&#8221; Mark Zuckerberg, now that he&#8217;s made a calculation that telling the truth is in his best interests. He had a chance to do the right thing when it would have required some measure of courage to do so. Although not that much, considering he was and is a multi-billionaire. That provides you a lot of cover that most of us don’t have. But Zuckerberg waited until now. 
There’s a lot of this going around right now. People who are seeing the light and coming out against wokeness, now that wokeness is a punch line and has no political power and little Cultural power. I welcome these people to Team Sanity. But I don’t trust them, and I certainly won’t congratulate them.

At the same time, again, Zuckerberg&#8217;s shift is a reflection of a broader change in the culture. And it&#8217;s a shift that&#8217;s quite dramatic in some respects. Here&#8217;s how the New York Times is <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/01/10/technology/meta-mark-zuckerberg-trump.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reporting</a> on some of the changes at Meta, for example: 
<blockquote>The company removed the transgender and nonbinary &#8216;themes&#8217; on its Messenger chat app. &#8230; That same day at Meta’s offices in Silicon Valley, Texas and New York, facilities managers were instructed to remove tampons from men’s bathrooms, which the company had provided for nonbinary and transgender employees who use the men’s room and who may have required sanitary pads, two employees said.</blockquote>
Yes, tampons have been removed from the men&#8217;s bathrooms at Meta. Presumably the tampons have also been removed from the virtual bathrooms in the Metaverse too, although I don&#8217;t have a &#8220;Meta Quest&#8221; VR headset, so I can&#8217;t verify that at the moment. This is a sudden change that happened virtually overnight, after years of having tampons in the men&#8217;s bathroom. The CEO decides one day to end it. And it ends.
Why did the men’s bathrooms ever have tampons to begin with? Why did he ever think that was a good idea? Did Zuckerberg believe that men could have periods and then see the light after reading a biology textbook? I don’t think so. He knew it was absurd the whole time.
And guess what? There have been no riots at Meta over this change. There have been no massive protests or mass resignations. The Metaverse hasn&#8217;t collapsed. That&#8217;s because everyone at Meta — including the supposedly &#8220;trans&#8221; employees — know that reality is not subjective. They know that men do not need tampons. And now that an adult has told them the truth, they&#8217;re accepting it because they have no other choice.
That&#8217;s all it really takes for a return to sanity. And it&#8217;s happening more and more often.
To give another example — recently a federal court in Kentucky handed the Biden administration a major defeat in a Title IX case. In case you&#8217;re not familiar with Title IX, it&#8217;s a law that prevents sex discrimination in educational programs, including sports, that receive any kind of federal assistance. The Biden administration unilaterally tried to re-interpret Title IX so that it prevents discrimination on the basis of so-called &#8220;gender identity.&#8221; Their rule would have required teachers to use students&#8217; preferred pronouns, among other demands.
From a legal perspective, the Biden administration and trans activists thought they had a winning case. And that&#8217;s because an earlier Supreme Court ruling had held, by a 6-3 vote, that a different provision of civil rights law — Title VII — prohibited discrimination on the basis of so-called &#8220;gender identity&#8221; in the workplace. Gorsuch and Roberts sided with the Leftist judges to come up with that ruling.
But last week, a federal judge in Kentucky held that the same logic doesn&#8217;t apply to Title IX, because Title IX is explicitly focused on sex discrimination — and no other form of discrimination. <a href="https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/25483131-order-in-title-ix-case/?q=eviscerates&amp;mode=document#document/p7" target="_blank" rel="noopener">This</a> is from the judge&#8217;s ruling: &#8220;The entire point of Title 9 is to prevent discrimination based on sex. Throwing gender identity into the mix eviscerates the statute and renders it largely meaningless.&#8221;
This ruling will obviously be appealed, and work its way up the courts. But as it stands, it could lay the groundwork for a new Supreme Court ruling — one that rejects any attempt to conflate &#8220;sex&#8221; and &#8220;gender&#8221; within the meaning of the law.

A ruling like that would&#8217;ve been hard to imagine a few years ago. But it&#8217;s not hard to imagine anymore. That&#8217;s because, even in places like California — some of the most Left-wing places in the country — there are clear signs that people are tired of this insanity. Consider the eruption of anger over California&#8217;s DEI policies and general incompetence in the wake of these historic fires, which still aren&#8217;t under control.
The corporate press is trying to run the same familiar narrative, where they blame racism and climate change. For example, <a href="https://apnews.com/article/california-wildfire-pacific-palisades-pasadena-altadena-inequality-63ea76d186740359f7f5dd188896354f" target="_blank" rel="noopener">here&#8217;s the AP</a>: 
<blockquote>The California wildfires could be leaving deeper inequality in their wake. .. The fires also burned through a remarkable haven for generations of Black families avoiding discriminatory housing practices elsewhere. They have been communities of racial and economic diversity, where many people own their own homes.</blockquote>
The reaction to this article online has been, as you might expect, universal mockery and derision. People aren&#8217;t persuaded by this anymore. Well, people never were persuaded by it. The difference is that now nobody pretends to be. No one talks like this, unless they&#8217;re a journalist for an outlet like the AP. The rest of us are sharing clips like this one, featuring the chief of the Los Angeles Department of Water &amp; Power. Watch:

She says: &#8220;The #1 thing that attracted me to this role&#8230; It’s important for me that everything we do is with an equity lens and social justice.&#8221;
It&#8217;s reminiscent of the aftermath of the Maui fires, when a top official <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/08/19/hawaii-official-worried-about-equity-over-water/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">talked</a> about how access to water should involve &#8220;conversations about equity.&#8221; These are the kinds of clips that have quickly surfaced in the wake of the California fires. And they&#8217;re surfacing because people are tired of DEI hires running their cities into the ground. People are realizing that lives are at stake now.
That&#8217;s especially obvious after the discovery that a key reservoir was <a href="https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2025-01-10/as-flames-raged-in-palisades-a-key-reservoir-nearby-was-offline" target="_blank" rel="noopener">empty</a> in the Pacific Palisades when the fires began. From the <a href="https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2025-01-10/as-flames-raged-in-palisades-a-key-reservoir-nearby-was-offline" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Los Angeles Times</a>: 
<blockquote>Officials said that the [Reservoir] had been closed since about February for repairs to its cover, leaving a 117-million-gallon water storage complex empty in the heart of the Palisades for nearly a year.</blockquote>
Keep in mind, that&#8217;s the L.A. Times with that exclusive reporting. That&#8217;s the same paper that called Larry Elder &#8220;the black face of white supremacy&#8221; not too long ago. Then (like Jeff Bezos), the Times&#8217; owner withheld the paper&#8217;s endorsement of Kamala Harris, so they&#8217;d focus more on the news. Now they&#8217;re exposing genuine misconduct and incompetence, no matter how embarrassing and damaging it may be for California&#8217;s Democrats.
You won&#8217;t find a clearer sign that wokeness — meaning the suspension of reality to appease the preferred demographic groups of the Democratic Party — is coming to an end. It may be coming to an end in part because of self-interested political actors like Mark Zuckerberg. But it&#8217;s ending, one way or another, because people are tired of it. When Donald Trump won in 2016, that wasn&#8217;t the case. But if there&#8217;s one overriding reason for optimism for Trump&#8217;s second term, it&#8217;s that this time around, no one — not even Silicon Valley mega-corporations like Meta — is pretending to take this nonsense seriously anymore.
