A major pro-life group is calling on Trump administration officials to step in and protect access to progesterone, used to reverse the abortion pill, as New York and California target the drug.
40 Days For Life wrote to Attorney General Pam Bondi, HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., FDA Commissioner Marty Makary, and other Trump officials asking them to acknowledge the safety of progesterone.
&#8220;The increasing efficacy of the use of progesterone to reverse the abortion pill has resulted in concerted legal action by radical pro-abortion states like California, New York and Colorado targeting pro-life organizations and health care providers serving the women seeking [abortion pill reversal],&#8221; 40 Days For Life wrote in their letter, which was provided to The Daily Wire.
&#8220;Ironically, they are removing women’s &#8216;choice&#8217; and limiting options to what the government decides is best for women and their babies,&#8221; the group wrote.
Progesterone, a hormone women produce naturally, has an important role in sustaining pregnancy and can reverse the effects of mifepristone, the popular abortion pill. Mifepristone causes the uterus to contract and expel its contents, while progesterone works to stop contractions and keep the uterine lining intact.
&#8220;We urge you to implement federal regulation and law that preserve[s] the right of health care professionals to provide progesterone to reverse the effects of the abortion pill, for those women who so choose, without fear or threat of frivolous over-bearing litigation by rogue state and local politicians and lawyers,&#8221; 40 Days For Life told Trump officials.

In New York, Attorney General Letitia James <a href="https://ag.ny.gov/press-release/2024/attorney-general-james-sues-anti-abortion-group-and-11-new-york-crisis-pregnancy#:~:text=With%20this%20lawsuit%2C%20Attorney%20General,experimental%20nature%20and%20potential%20risks." target="_blank" rel="noopener">launched</a> investigations and lawsuits trying to use consumer protection laws to crack down on progesterone.
California Attorney General Rob Bonta filed a lawsuit accusing pregnancy centers of &#8220;false and misleading advertising&#8221; around progesterone.
Both states targeted Heartbeat International, a pro-life group that connects women with progesterone who take the abortion pill and then change their mind.
Shawn Carney, co-founder and CEO of 40 Days For Life, said California is essentially claiming progesterone &#8220;doesn&#8217;t work, it&#8217;s bad medicine, it&#8217;s witchcraft.&#8221;
&#8220;What&#8217;s so beautiful about this stupid lawsuit that he filed is that we just line up a bunch of kids and say, you know, it&#8217;s documented. These women had a chemical abortion. These women then sought abortion pill reversal. And here&#8217;s little Tommy,&#8221; Carney told The Daily Wire.
&#8220;The pro-life side will definitely win,&#8221; he said. &#8220;My hope and prayer is that this is something other states look at and decide we&#8217;re not going into crazy land with California. We&#8217;re not suing people.&#8221;
Carney also said California banned his group&#8217;s signs that read, &#8220;Ask me about abortion pill reversal,&#8221; but the group is &#8220;completely ignoring their stupid law and hope they sue us.&#8221;
With more than a million volunteers, 40 Days For Life says it is the world&#8217;s largest grassroots pro-life movement. The group organizes 40 days of fasting and prayer outside abortion clinics around the world every year.
An <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/abortion-pill-22-times-more-dangerous-than-fda-claimed-new-study-says?author=Mairead+Elordi&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=7&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Abortion+Pill+22+Times+More+Dangerous+Than+FDA+Claimed%2C+New+Study+Says" target="_blank" rel="noopener">analysis</a> released in April found that more than one in 10 women experienced a “serious adverse event” after taking the mifepristone abortion pill in 2023. This can include hemorrhaging, needing a blood transfusion, an emergency room visit, and even deadly conditions like sepsis.
That is about 22 times higher than what the FDA listed on its label for the brand Mifeprex in 2023. The FDA <a href="https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/drugsatfda_docs/label/2023/020687Orig1s025Lbl.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cited</a> clinical studies saying less than 0.5% of women suffered “serious adverse reactions” to mifepristone.
Meanwhile, more than one in 20 women need a second abortion attempt after the abortion pill fails, another analysis of insurance claim data <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/more-than-1-in-20-women-need-second-abortion-attempt-after-abortion-pill-fails?author=Mairead+Elordi&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=0&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=More+Than+1+in+20+Women+Need+Second+Abortion+Attempt+After+Abortion+Pill+Fails" target="_blank" rel="noopener">released</a> this week showed.
A few months before Roe v. Wade was overturned, the FDA scrapped the requirement that women must obtain abortion pills in person from a health care provider, allowing women to get them online through the mail.
Carney said mifepristone &#8220;just needs to be removed from the market in general.&#8221;
&#8220;We have basically this government policy that sends one in 10 women to the ER that is not based on medicine or safety for women or any of that, but is based on politics,&#8221; he said.
Last month, HHS head Kennedy told lawmakers he had requested that the FDA do a “complete review” of the abortion pill in the wake of the new data, calling it &#8220;alarming.&#8221;
Carney also noted that unlike a surgical abortion, women who take the abortion pill at home often see the remains of their unborn babies and are left traumatized.
&#8220;I think we&#8217;ve seen the usage of the abortion pills in America peak. I think they&#8217;re at their height, I think we&#8217;re going to start seeing them go down because they have a horrible word-of-mouth,&#8221; Carney said.

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) stumped Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) at Thursday’s House Oversight Committee hearing when she asked him if he knows what a woman is.
The question came after a short discussion about whether or not Walz had ever been to Tiananmen Square, a plaza in Beijing where protestors were massacred in 1989. After Walz confirmed he’d once been to the Square, Mace asked for the year he was there.
“As I recall, January of 1990,” Walz replied.
“Okay. What is a woman?” Mace suddenly asked.

The question posed by Mace has regularly stumped Democrats and was asked by Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) to Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson in 2022. At that time, Jackson replied that she could not provide a definition for the word &#8220;woman&#8221; because she&#8217;s &#8220;not a biologist.&#8221; Daily Wire podcast host Matt Walsh later released a documentary titled &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/videos/what-is-a-woman?row=0&amp;elementPosition=2&amp;rowType=Square+Show+Carousel" target="_blank" rel="noopener">What is a Woman?</a>,&#8221; which sought to answer the obvious question and expose the dark roots of gender ideology.
Walz came under scrutiny after Kamala Harris chose him as her presidential running mate for a Minnesota <a href="https://www.revisor.mn.gov/bills/text.php?number=HF2497&amp;session_year=2023&amp;session_number=0&amp;version=latest#:~:text=ACCESS%20TO%20MENSTRUAL%20PRODUCTS.">law</a> requiring schools to provide free tampons to “all menstruating students.” The law did not distinguish between girls and boys, earning Walz the nickname “Tampon Tim.”
After Walz refused to answer Mace’s question, he asked, “What would you like me to say?”

Mace raised her voice and replied that she wanted him to say a woman is an “adult human female.”
“Men can’t become women!” she stated. “You guys are the party of violence and you’re the party erasing women. You don’t respect us! You’re a bigot, you’re a misogynist, you’re a sexist.”
She then turned to the chairman and yielded the floor.
Before this, Mace fired off multiple other questions, including one in which she asked whether or not Walz is “still friends with school shooters,” seemingly in an attempt to expose his ineptitude.

“Harry Potter” author JK Rowling is calling out a trans activist trying to justify taking photos of himself inside women’s restrooms.
Rowling responded to a post describing the behavior of Lilly Tino, a man who identifies as a woman and frequently posts videos of himself being “misgendered” at restaurants and complaining to wait staff and his followers about it.
Tino has over 400,000 followers on TikTok and 15.8 million likes on his posts.
Lately, the activist has been <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@lillytino_/video/7514325434583076139?lang=en">ranting</a> about how “trans men” shouldn’t be criticized for taking photos of themselves in the women’s restroom because celebrities do it all the time. But commenters pointed out that many of the influencer photos Tino refers to only show one person, whereas his photos from the bathroom include people in the background who are having their rights violated.

I&#8217;d call that a win,” the billionaire British author added in a follow-up post.

“He has zero interest in a greater cause. He&#8217;s using &#8216;activism&#8217; as a fig leaf and a free pass for what excites him, as is the case with a load of these men. If it gives him a sexual kick he&#8217;ll keep doing it until he&#8217;s stopped,” Rowling wrote.
Rowling&#8217;s comments were in response to a post about some of the bathroom selfies Tino has been sharing with followers.
“Lilly Tino, a man who presents as a woman, has come out in defense of a series of selfies he took inside a women’s restroom at Disney World, after facing backlash from both LGBTQ+ and heterosexual communities,” the <a href="https://x.com/ImMeme0/status/1932463761312330079">original post</a> says. 
“Tino justifies his actions by comparing himself to celebrities who have previously taken photos in women’s restrooms. However, he conveniently omits that his images captured women and young girls in the background without their consent—an act that constitutes a violation of Florida’s privacy and voyeurism laws.”
The original post said there’s a “growing petition” to have Tino banned from TikTok.

The two athletes clashed on Friday when Biles attacked Gaines seemingly out of the blue, calling the former University of Kentucky swimmer a &#8220;sore loser&#8221; and telling her to &#8220;bully someone your own size, which would ironically be a male.&#8221;

Gaines added that competition &#8220;by definition is exclusive.&#8221;
&#8220;To suggest that women and girls must be silent or ignore a boy who is PUBLICLY hurting or humiliating them is wrong,&#8221; Gaines said. &#8220;You can&#8217;t have any empathy and compassion for the girls if you&#8217;re ignoring when young men are harming or abusing them. I am not ashamed to be a voice for the voiceless.&#8221;
Gaines added that she agrees that the blame is on lawmakers and leaders, which she said is why she is suing the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and joined President Donald Trump when he signed an executive order on women&#8217;s sports.
&#8220;I didn&#8217;t see you there or championing this effort with your platform,&#8221; Gaines told Biles, adding that she welcomes Biles to the &#8220;fight to support fair sports and a future for female athletes. Little girls deserve the same shot to achieve that you had.&#8221;

Former NASCAR and IndyCar driver Danica Patrick said supporting men in women’s sports is “irrational” as she defended former NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines in her spat with Olympic gymnast Simone Biles over trans-identifying athletes.
“This issue has a shelf life,” Patrick said in a social media post. “I truly believe common sense will prevail. But until then, I am grateful for people like Riley Gaines who are making sure no one gets away with it. Not to mention the fact that she actually lived it.”
The argument began over the weekend, when Biles attacked Gaines and voiced support for trans-identifying athletes. Gaines had recently criticized a trans-identifying man who led a Minnesota high school softball team to win a state championship.
“You’re truly sick, all of this campaigning because you lost a race,” Biles said in a post on X. “Straight up sore loser. You should be uplifting the trans community and perhaps finding a way to make sports inclusive OR creating a new avenue where trans feel safe in sports. Maybe a transgender category IN ALL sports!! Patrick also criticized supporters of trans-identifying athletes.
“Defending men in women’s sports is the woke mind virus and/or another issue that requires therapy,” Patrick said.

Studies differ on whether or not biological differences impact driving ability. A 2016 study of 35 male drivers and 25 female drivers <a href="https://www.jebmh.com/articles/effect-of-gender-difference-on-brake-reaction-time.pdf.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">found</a> men had a higher reaction time when braking, while a Michigan State University study from 2019 of six male drivers and six female drivers <a href="https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30925578/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">found</a> no significant physiological differences between sexes in racecar driving.
Patrick herself seems to believe there is a biological difference. In 2023, she said racecar driving is “masculine” by nature, according to Planet F1.

President Donald Trump promised Sunday night to restore order in Los Angeles after riots broke out over the weekend with protesters burning cars and attacking federal officers in response to immigration enforcement operations. 
Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114649780431129598" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a> on Truth Social that he had directed his administration to take all necessary steps to end the “Migrant riots” and continue the deportations of illegal immigrants. Earlier on Sunday, Trump sent the National Guard <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/national-guard-rolls-into-los-angeles-after-days-of-anti-ice-riots?author=Tim+Pearce&amp;category=undefined&amp;elementPosition=2&amp;row=3&amp;rowHeadline=Latest+News&amp;rowType=Vertical+Carousel&amp;title=National+Guard+Rolls+Into+Los+Angeles+After+Days+Of+Anti-ICE+Riots">into</a> Los Angeles to help quell the unrest that began on Friday after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and other federal agencies conducted several immigration raids, <a href="https://www.foxla.com/news/dhs-crackdown-la-westlake-home-depot">including</a> outside of a Home Depot. 
“A once great American City, Los Angeles, has been invaded and occupied by Illegal Aliens and Criminals. Now violent, insurrectionist mobs are swarming and attacking our Federal Agents to try and stop our deportation operations — But these lawless riots only strengthen our resolve,” Trump posted on Truth Social.
“I am directing Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and Attorney General Pam Bondi, in coordination with all other relevant Departments and Agencies, to take all such action necessary to liberate Los Angeles from the Migrant Invasion, and put an end to these Migrant riots,” Trump added. “Order will be restored, the Illegals will be expelled, and Los Angeles will be set free. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
In another Truth Social post, Trump ripped into California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Democratic Mayor Karen Bass for their handling of the unrest. 
“Governor Gavin Newscum and ‘Mayor’ Bass should apologize to the people of Los Angeles for the absolutely horrible job that they have done, and this now includes the ongoing L.A. riots,” Trump wrote. “These are not protesters, they are troublemakers and insurrectionists. Remember, NO MASKS!”
Newsom has <a href="https://x.com/GavinNewsom/status/1931932116172104009" target="_blank" rel="noopener">blamed</a> Trump for the riots, claiming that he escalated the situation by sending in the National Guard to &#8220;manufacture chaos and violence.”  
The violence <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/losangeles/news/national-guard-troops-los-angeles-immigration-protests/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">continued</a> on Sunday afternoon as rioters continued to commit vandalism, throw objects and concrete at law enforcement, set vehicles and dumpsters on fire, and <a href="https://ktla.com/news/local-news/that-can-kill-you-l-a-police-attacked-with-fireworks-rocks-molotov-cocktails/">shoot</a> &#8220;commercial grade fireworks&#8221; at law enforcement. 
&#8220;That can kill you,&#8221; said LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell.

The FBI has <a href="https://www.fbi.gov/wanted/seeking-info/assault-on-a-federal-officer-and-damage-to-government-property" target="_blank" rel="noopener">offered</a> a $50,000 reward for a man who threw rocks at law enforcement, injuring a federal officer and damaging federal property.
Law enforcement has arrested dozens of people, and many face assault and vandalism-related charges. LAPD declared an unlawful assembly in downtown L.A. on Sunday night.

An LGBT “Rooted in Pride” art exhibit surrounding a children’s playground in Brooklyn, New York, features nude images and what appears to be a man dressed in drag, and promotes gender confusion and anti-Trump messages.
The LGBT content surrounds the JJ Byrne Playground, where families and children as young as toddlers play, according to images provided to The Daily Wire, and other images accessible via Google Maps. The art pieces will be displayed all summer long, until August 1.

“Done on Inauguration Day 2025, this piece is a reminder that regardless of the identities or beliefs of the communities the president seeks to destroy, we are still his constituency,” it reads. “His refusal to support or care for all who live in this country is a failure of his job to serve. A linguistic root of ‘constituent’ translates to: ‘to cause to stand.’ He cannot stand without me. Without us.”

The group displaying the LGBT artwork is called Arts Gowanus, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. On June 1, the group proudly posted about the exhibit “surrounding JJ Byrne Playground.”
&#8220;&#8216;Rooted in Pride’ is installed!!” the caption <a href="https://www.facebook.com/gowanusopenstudios/posts/pfbid02dVX69akCxkTHUKCyJsVpnxHboS66vHF18BfshNk7ZgytfooMDq48AfobZc4hh3FNl" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reads</a>. “So many wonderful artists from our LGBTQIA community are exhibiting work in this outdoor exhibition!”
Arts Gowanus also spotlighted the jurors, or the judges who chose the artwork for the exhibit. One juror is named Gayah Imani Gillson, who is described as “a BIPOC, QTPOC, TwoSpirit Brooklyn-based/ International Artist, Healer, Visionary Activist, and Spiritual Worker.”
The Daily Wire reached out to Art Gowanus about the nature of the public content, but have not received a response.

Olympic gymnast Simone Biles has been the subject of much criticism online after she attacked women&#8217;s rights advocate and Outkick podcast host Riley Gaines for her physical appearance, apparently to show her support for transgender-identifying male athletes in female sports and spaces.

A girls&#8217; high school softball team in Minnesota won its first-ever state championship on Friday thanks to the lights-out pitching of a boy who identifies as a girl.
The Champlin Park Rebels took down the Bloomington Jefferson Jaguars 6-0 in the 4A title game, riding the arm of Marissa Rothenberger, a boy, who pitched the entire game, giving up just two hits to Bloomington Jefferson. In the Rebels&#8217; three-game tournament title run, Rothenberger pitched all 21 innings for the team, allowing just two runs.

Champlin Park advanced to the state championship in a comeback win against White Bear Lake on Wednesday, with Rothenberger, a junior, hitting two huge doubles that sparked a rally for the Rebels, Outkick <a href="https://www.outkick.com/sports/trans-pitcher-champlin-park-white-bear-lake-minnesota-softball-semifinals">reported</a>. According to the outlet, two fathers of girls on White Bear Lake &#8220;expressed deep frustration with the system that allowed their daughters to compete against a male athlete.&#8221;
One dad specifically called out Democrats for allowing boys to compete against girls in Minnesota. &#8220;You&#8217;re looking at a whole team of future Republicans,&#8221; he said.
The Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) allows athletes to compete “consistent with their gender identity or expression in an environment free from discrimination with an equal opportunity for participation in athletics and fine arts,&#8221; according to <a href="https://www.startribune.com/why-did-us-rep-tom-emmer-single-out-a-teenage-transgender-athlete-on-social-media/601365117">The Minnesota Star Tribune</a>. In February, the Trump administration opened an investigation into the MSHSL over its transgender policy after President Donald Trump signed an executive order to protect women&#8217;s sports. Trump has gone after some states, such as <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-vows-large-scale-fines-on-california-after-boy-wins-girls-track-events">California</a> and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-sics-his-doj-on-maine-over-men-in-womens-sports">Maine</a>, threatening to cut off federal funding if they continue to allow boys to compete against girls.

The MSHSL did not respond when The Daily Wire asked if it would change its policy after Champlin Park&#8217;s state championship.
Minnesota Democratic Gov. Tim Walz has been blasted by conservatives and women&#8217;s sports advocates for allowing boys to play against girls in his state. Walz has made the transgender issue a big part of his platform, turning the state into a “<a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/08/07/tim-walz-minnesota-trans-refuge-bill/">trans refuge</a>” and supporting life-altering gender procedures on children.
Along with leading his team to the state championship, Rothenberger also received &#8220;All-Tournament Team&#8221; honors, according to Outkick reporter Amber Harding Snyder. Rothenberger was pictured towering over the girls selected for the &#8220;All-Tournament Team.&#8221;

Rothenberger was born “Charlie Dean,” but after turning 9 years old, his mother applied to the Hennepin County District Court to change the name and sex on her child’s birth certificate, a request that was approved, according to documents obtained by <a href="https://reduxx.info/we-need-sex-screening-womens-sports-watchdog-calls-for-mandatory-sex-screening-after-male-student-uses-fake-birth-certificate-to-join-girls-softball-teams/">Reduxx</a>. Rothenberger reportedly kept his gender transition hidden from his teammates, but one of his former teammates, who spoke to Reduxx on the condition of anonymity, said that eventually girls and parents started to figure it out. Rothenberger has reportedly shared locker rooms, bathrooms, and rooms with teammates while traveling for games.

A leading pro-LGBT group this week published a report on &#8220;anti-LGBTQ incidents&#8221; in the United States. It&#8217;s incredibly shocking — but not in the way you&#8217;d think.
GLAAD (Gay &amp; Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) <a href="https://assets.glaad.org/m/517666e6160db065/original/2025-GLAAD-ALERT-Desk-Report.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> more than 932 hate incidents across the country over the year that ended May 1. The group also claims that &#8220;anti-trans hate hit a record high&#8221; and that &#8220;52% of all incidents were targeting transgender and gender nonconforming people.&#8221;
Here&#8217;s the kicker: the biggest category of incidents GLAAD recorded was &#8220;protests.&#8221; Yeah, you read that right.
It&#8217;s not clear which specific protests GLAAD is referring to.
Perhaps it&#8217;s parents fighting for their children. Just last month, Colorado parents <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/how-parents-blocked-the-radical-child-custody-part-of-colorados-new-transgender-law?author=Mairead+Elordi&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=3&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=How+Parents+Blocked+The+Radical+Child+Custody+Part+Of+Colorado’s+New+Transgender+Law" target="_blank" rel="noopener">showed</a> up at the state capital to rally against a radical bill that declared that parents in custody battles who misgender or “deadname” their child were guilty of “coercive control” and could lose their child.
Or maybe it&#8217;s female athletes <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/most-likely-ended-my-career-disc-golfer-who-protested-trans-competitor-says-she-has-no-regrets" target="_blank" rel="noopener">walking</a> off the field and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-female-fencer-and-trans-supporting-usa-fencing-head-face-off-at-heated-doge-hearing" target="_blank" rel="noopener">refusing</a> to compete against trans-identifying male competitors.
Perhaps it&#8217;s one of the countless other events organized by the countless concerned Americans who have shown up at school board meetings, state legislatures, and <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/picture-gallery/news/politics/2025/04/22/demonstrations-supreme-court-religious-freedom-lgbtq-diversity-photos/83210169007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">even</a> the Supreme Court to speak out against LGBT agendas.
Meanwhile, of course, there&#8217;s a long list of actually violent acts the Left does not consider hate. How about the disturbed trans-identifying woman who shot up The Covenant School in Nashville in 2023, killing six people, including three nine-year-olds? Or the Black Lives Matter protests of 2020 that destroyed over $1 billion of property? Or maybe the firebombing of pro-life pregnancy centers around the time Roe v. Wade was overturned?

Another eye-catching category in GLAAD&#8217;s report was &#8220;propaganda drops,&#8221; with more than 60 incidents, although it is not exactly clear what a &#8220;propaganda drop&#8221; is. Perhaps college students <a href="https://www.christianpost.com/news/university-bans-student-from-handing-out-christian-pamphlets-to-lgbt-studies-class.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">handing</a> out Christian pamphlets to an LGBT studies class?
GLAAD claimed trans-identifying and &#8220;gender nonconforming&#8221; people were the target of over half of all the anti-LGBTQ incidents, but this includes 209 &#8220;protests&#8221; and 33 &#8220;propaganda drops.&#8221;
&#8220;Compared to last year’s data, this represents a 14% increase in incidents targeting transgender and gender nonconforming people,&#8221; GLAAD said.
The other categories included about 280 harassment incidents, 140 vandalism incidents, 85 assaults, 20 bomb threats, and 15 arson attempts.
So bomb threats, arson, and violent assaults are in the same &#8220;hate&#8221; category as legal, peaceful protests exercising First Amendment rights. Got it!
Sarah Moore, who runs GLAAD&#8217;s tracker, <a href="https://www.axios.com/2025/06/02/anti-lgbtq-incidents-glaad-data-transgender" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> the tracker includes &#8220;every expression of hate&#8221; regardless of whether it is a crime because &#8220;LGBTQ people are going to experience these things as acts of hate, regardless of if they&#8217;re prosecuted as that.&#8221;
GLAAD pointed the finger at the Trump administration, saying its executive orders &#8220;specifically demean and discriminate&#8221; against trans-identifying people.
Shortly after taking office, President Donald Trump issued multiple executive orders that banned federal funds for schools that allow males in girls&#8217; sports and bathrooms, as well as for hospitals that perform transgender surgeries on children.
One order also defined sex as male and female — remember when this was common sense? Now it&#8217;s &#8220;hateful.&#8221;
&#8220;Hope shines brightest in the darkest moments,&#8221; said GLAAD&#8217;s president and CEO, Sarah Kate Ellis, in a letter published with the report. &#8220;As we honor the queer and trans leaders of decades past and present, and resolve to overcome the challenges of today, we create a new legacy of joy as resistance.&#8221;
By the way, this is not even the first year GLAAD has counted protests and rallies as &#8220;hate&#8221; incidents.
GLAAD launched its &#8220;ALERT Desk&#8221; database to track anti-LGBTQ extremism back in June 2022. Of the 2,626 incidents GLAAD <a href="https://glaad.org/anti-lgbtq-extremism-reporting-tracker/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">says</a> have occurred in the three years since the database was launched, 872 of them are protests or rallies.
Can&#8217;t wait to see next year&#8217;s report, which will probably include every time someone looked sideways at a drag queen!

The Trump administration on Tuesday ended another Biden-era abortion mandate, specifically rescinding the most recent interpretation of what&#8217;s known as the &#8220;Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act,&#8221; or EMTALA.
Under Biden, EMTALA guidance forced hospitals and pro-life health care workers to provide abortions if it&#8217;s deemed necessary stabilizing treatment. Critics decried the guidance as unlawful and a rejection of conscience protections.
&#8220;The Department of Health and Human Services and Centers for Medicare &amp; Medicaid Services (&#8216;CMS&#8217;) are rescinding July 2022 guidance from CMS with the subject &#8216;Reinforcement of EMTALA Obligations specific to Patients who are Pregnant or are Experiencing Pregnancy Loss,&#8221; a press release from CMS said, adding that such guidance no longer reflects the policy of this administration.
&#8220;CMS will continue to enforce EMTALA, which protects all individuals who present to a hospital emergency department seeking examination or treatment, including for identified emergency medical conditions that place the health of a pregnant woman or her unborn child in serious jeopardy,&#8221; the statement added. &#8220;CMS will work to rectify any perceived legal confusion and instability created by the former administration’s actions.&#8221;
Pro-lifers were quick to celebrate the move from HHS. <a href="https://www.heritage.org/staff/roger-severino" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Roger Severino</a> of The Heritage Foundation, for example, posted, &#8220;President Trump promised to dismantle the abortion radicalism left by his predecessor and today another abortion mandate bites the dust.&#8221;

&#8220;Wide majorities of Americans oppose forcing doctors and hospitals to take innocent human life and this change goes back to respecting conscience and the rule of law,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;EMTALA requires hospitals to treat unborn children and mothers in labor, yet shamelessly, abortion radicals inverted this clearly pro-life law to unlawfully mandate abortion nationwide, even though every state already has life of the mother exceptions.&#8221;
&#8220;To add insult to injury, the Biden order refused to acknowledge that the law protected mothers, or even women. Instead calling them &#8216;pregnant patients,'&#8221; Severino noted. &#8220;A stain on America&#8217;s conscience is now gone, and good riddance.&#8221;

Days after taking office in his second term, Trump signed two orders to further prevent taxpayers from funding abortion, as previously highlighted by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-restores-mexico-city-policy-ends-taxpayer-funding-for-abortion" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Wire</a>.
One of the measures, referred to as the Mexico City policy, prevents taxpayer funds from being sent to foreign non-governmental organizations that perform or promote abortions. The other, an executive order, strengthens the Hyde Amendment, which is a ban on the use of federal funds for abortion.

Trump Rips Up Another Biden-Era Abortion Mandate

A liberal enclave on the western edge of the deep-red state of Montana is pushing LGBT &#8220;Pride&#8221; to new heights.
The Missoula, Montana, City Council voted 9-2 on Monday night to make the &#8220;Pride&#8221; flag the city&#8217;s official flag. The move flies in the face of a recent bill signed into law in Montana that bans &#8220;Pride&#8221; flags from being flown on government property and schools.
&#8220;Currently, there is only one official flag for the City of Missoula, and that&#8217;s the Pride flag adopted last night. There was no prior official flag,&#8221; Missoula City Attorney Ryan Sudbury <a href="https://nbcmontana.com/news/local/missoula-approves-pride-flag-as-official-city-flag-in-opposition-of-new-law">told</a> NBC Montana.
Missoula&#8217;s &#8220;Pride&#8221; flag designation is already reflected on the Wikipedia page about the city.

Montana Republican Gov. Greg Gianforte blasted the city council&#8217;s move in a statement shared with The Daily Wire.
&#8220;Last night, nine members of the Missoula City Council made clear their top priority is flying a divisive pride flag over government buildings and schools &#8212; all while ignoring the city&#8217;s housing affordability crisis, raising taxes by 17% because of over spending, and refusing to take firm action to end encampments in the city,&#8221; Gianforte said. &#8220;Missoulians deserve better, and fortunately, two council members voted against imposing this divisive, far-left agenda on their community.&#8221;
The sponsor of the resolution, Jennifer Savage — who identifies as queer — pointed to her daughter as a reason she pursued designating the &#8220;Pride&#8221; flag the city&#8217;s official flag.

“When I see the Pride flag, I breathe a little sigh of relief and think my kid is safe here,” Savage said.
Last month, Montana Republican Gov. Greg Gianforte signed HB 819 into law, prohibiting the display of flags on state property that represent a &#8220;political viewpoint, including but not limited to flags or banners regarding a political party, race, sexual orientation, gender, or political ideology.&#8221; Missoula, however, appears to have found a loophole in the law that allows cities to fly an official municipal flag, according to <a href="https://www.kpax.com/news/missoula-county/missoula-city-council-adopts-pride-flag-as-official-city-flag">KPAX</a>. With the city council&#8217;s vote on Monday night, the &#8220;Pride&#8221; flag now meets that designation.
“Leave it to Missoula to try and turn a city flag into a pride flag. Nothing says ‘unity’ like politicizing public property,&#8221; <a href="https://nbcmontana.com/news/local/missoula-approves-pride-flag-as-official-city-flag-in-opposition-of-new-law">said</a> Republican state Rep. Braxton Mitchell. &#8220;The ultra far left Missoula City Council and their mayor are completely out of touch with reality and the values of the vast majority of Montanans. Taxpayer owned property should represent everyone, not just the loudest political movements of the moment.&#8221;
Missoula County <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2024/11/05/us/elections/results-montana.html">voted</a> overwhelmingly for Kamala Harris over Donald Trump in 2024, 59% to 38%, while former Democratic Sen. John Tester received 66% of the vote in Missoula to just 32% for Republican Tim Sheehy. Trump and Sheehy went on to win the state.
Missoula is also represented at the state level by Zooey Zephyr, a man who identifies as a woman. In 2023, Zephyr was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/montana-house-votes-to-punish-transgender-member-who-said-colleagues-have-blood-on-your-hands">censured</a> by the Republican-controlled Montana House of Representatives for an outburst over a ban on gender procedures on minors.
“The only thing I will say is if you vote yes on this bill and yes on these amendments, I hope the next time there’s an invocation when you bow your heads in prayer, you see the blood on your hands,” Zephyr said.
