Amid all the talk about tariffs with China, and how they steal America&#8217;s intellectual property and establish all kinds of trade barriers with this country, you might have missed this story. It&#8217;s not about economics, but at the same time, it tells you a lot about what authoritarian countries like China fear the most.
Beginning on May 1, China will accelerate its crackdown on religion, and Christianity in particular. Foreign missionaries will be banned from preaching unless they obtain formal approval from the government.
According to Chinese <a href="https://www.persecution.org/2025/04/04/china-moves-to-formally-ban-missionary-activity/">state media</a>, the goal of the new regulation is to protect &#8220;national security&#8221; and &#8220;political stability&#8221; by forcing people to attend official, state-run religious services with pre-approved messaging. Additionally, Chinese state media has recently boasted about the fact that religious groups — which the government calls &#8220;cult organizations&#8221; — have been increasingly shut down in China. At this point, one of the fastest ways to disappear in China is to deliver a sermon that upsets the ruling party.
Of course, this is the exact opposite of the result we were promised when the United States normalized free trade with China several decades ago. As Bill Clinton put it, “Membership in the W.T.O. will not create a free society in China overnight or guarantee that China will play by global rules. &#8230; But over time, I believe it will move China faster and further in the right direction.”
That hasn&#8217;t happened. Instead, China is now aggressively moving to crush Christians, for the simple reason that Christians believe in a higher power than their government. We have not introduced Western norms to China. We have not exported our values to them. Instead, despite the promises of free trade, China has successfully exported its totalitarian impulses to the West. One by one, Western countries are adopting anti-Christian crackdowns, to the point that they&#8217;re making it illegal for Christians to practice their faith.
What&#8217;s happening right now in New South Wales, which is a state on the east coast of Australia, makes this very clear. Earlier this month, something called the &#8220;Conversion Practices Ban Act of 2024&#8221; became law in New South Wales. This law, by its own terms, allows the authorities to arrest Christians for praying. That is not an exaggeration or an overstatement. It&#8217;s actually <a href="https://legislation.nsw.gov.au/view/whole/html/inforce/current/act-2024-019">written</a> into the legislation. From <a href="https://antidiscrimination.nsw.gov.au/discrimination/conversion-practices/frequently-asked-questions.html#What4">the government</a> of New South Wales: &#8220;Praying with or over a person with the intent to change or suppress their sexuality or gender identity is unlawful. It is unlawful even if that person has asked you to pray for them to be able to change or suppress their sexuality or gender identity.&#8221;
This again is in Australia, a western nation. Not China. Praying with someone who wants you to pray with them could land you in jail. That&#8217;s happening right now, in a supposed western democracy.

In other words, if someone wants to pray to God so that he can overcome his gender dysphoria — a condition that, by definition, causes significant mental distress — then his pastor cannot pray with him. In fact, his own family members cannot pray with him. If the police discover that any unapproved prayers have been occurring, they can kick down the doors of the church, or the family home, and haul away the violators. And then they&#8217;ll spend up to five years in prison for their crimes against the state: The crime of praying.
Just to emphasize this point, the government of New South Wales published the single most Orwellian video you&#8217;ll ever see. No matter how many times you&#8217;ve heard the word &#8220;Orwellian,&#8221; believe me, this qualifies. This is the government&#8217;s attempt to intimidate the millions of people who live in New South Wales, with their new law that bans prayer.

First of all, by the terms of this legislation, every single gender activist in Australia is a criminal. They all believe, without exception, that you can choose to be &#8220;LGBTQA&#8221; (which is apparently the acronym now). There&#8217;s no other way to explain people who ping-pong between genders at will, or people who de-transition. In fact the concept of “fluidity” is now dogma in the LGBT religion. Fluidity — sexual fluidity, gender fluidity — means that you can change at will from one sexuality or gender to another. If someone identifies as a Bi-gender Toasterkin, and then a few weeks later decides he&#8217;s really a Demi-gender, half-humanoid alpaca, or whatever, then at some point, we can conclude that this person made a choice to identify in some arbitrary way. And every step of the way, gender activists — according to the tenets of their ideology — have no choice but to affirm everything. This is one of the reasons trans activists keep losing in court, by the way. They have to admit that, under their logic, so-called &#8220;Trans people&#8221; can choose, at any time, to be trans or not trans. And therefore, because &#8220;trans status&#8221; is malleable — again, malleable by definition, by THEIR definition —  they&#8217;re not entitled to civil rights protections, which only apply to immutable, unchanging traits.
As the video continues, things become even more dystopian.
There&#8217;s this line for example: &#8220;All people should feel welcome and valued and be able to live authentically and with PRIDE.&#8221; 
Yes, all people — every single one of them — should feel welcome and valued. They should all be able to &#8220;live authentically.&#8221; But this promise apparently does not apply to Christians who believe (as all of humanity did until 15 minutes ago) that men are men and women are women. Those Christians do not have the right to live authentically or &#8220;feel welcomed.&#8221; Instead, they can go straight to prison. Here&#8217;s more of the video, because again, as it goes along, things get worse and worse:

This is where they casually establish that &#8220;family members&#8221; — including a mother and father — can be incarcerated if they don&#8217;t affirm their child&#8217;s imagined gender identity. And of course they do it with a sing-songy, HR lady reading the voiceover. Scratch an HR lady and you will find a power-mad despot, every single time.
We&#8217;ve <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/conversion-therapy-bans-are-an-outrageous-attack-on-free-speech" target="_blank" rel="noopener">talked</a> about so-called &#8220;conversion therapy&#8221; before, and how efforts to ban the practice are both unconstitutional and incoherent. In this country, the Supreme Court is about to hear a case concerning whether Colorado&#8217;s ban on conversion therapy violates the First Amendment. The problem is that bans on &#8220;conversion therapy,&#8221; in every case, are premised on the idea that sexual orientation cannot be changed. But in the same breath, the government of New South Wales will tell you that sex is extremely changeable. In fact, you can go to the doctor and change it tomorrow. See the problem? If you&#8217;re changing your sex, then you&#8217;re also changing your sexual orientation, under their logic. A man who supposedly &#8220;becomes&#8221; a woman, but retains his attraction to men, would become a lesbian, in their view. This is the logical problem with these conversion therapy bans that they simply have no answer for. It&#8217;s like dividing by zero. 
But now they&#8217;re using this phony logic to justify throwing parents and priests in prison. Watch:

The scope of this law is so broad that you could probably claim I&#8217;m violating it, if my show is broadcast in New South Wales. They want Australians to snitch on each other if they get a whiff of anyone who dares to suggest that gender ideology isn&#8217;t real. In a lot of ways, it&#8217;s like the COVID lockdowns all over again. You might remember that, at the height of the &#8220;pandemic,&#8221; there was a nationwide manhunt in Australia when some guy sneezed in an empty elevator without a mask on. Now they&#8217;re going to have manhunts over unauthorized prayers.
If you don&#8217;t believe that, consider what just happened a few weeks ago to Billboard Chris. He was peacefully standing in a market in Brisbane, wearing a sign that expressed his opposition to the castration of children in the name of gender ideology. He only spoke to people who spoke to him first. He didn&#8217;t obstruct anyone&#8217;s movement or anything like that. People were walking around him the whole time. There&#8217;s no dispute about any of this; it&#8217;s all on video. Nevertheless, Brisbane police arrested Billboard Chris, on camera. Watch:

They arrested him for standing in a public place with a sign. There&#8217;s no doubt that, if the sign had been pro-gay marriage or whatever, then none of this would have happened. If you watch the full video, the police can&#8217;t name a single other instance where they&#8217;ve jailed someone for peacefully protesting at that location. But Billboard Chris blasphemed Australia&#8217;s state religion, so they took him away in handcuffs. And now they&#8217;re planning to do the same thing to the clergy.
The other day, an Australian commentator named Evelyn Rae outlined exactly what&#8217;s happening here. Here was her assessment, which is worth playing — not only because she&#8217;s right, but also because it&#8217;s good to know that Australia hasn&#8217;t been completely captured yet. Here it is:

Everything Evelyn Rae just said also applies to many other countries. This is not a problem that&#8217;s limited to Australia. 
Here&#8217;s a <a href="https://reason.com/2024/10/17/british-man-convicted-of-criminal-charges-for-praying-silently-near-abortion-clinic/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report from Reason</a> late last year, for example. This is the kind of story that JD Vance mentioned in his recent address to European leaders.

The man, Adam Smith-Connor, did not attempt to harass, intimidate, or interact in any way with those entering the clinic. Instead, he wordlessly prayed with his head bowed slightly. He wasn&#8217;t even on clinic property—he was outside the sightline of the clinic itself. &#8230; As a result, Smith-Connor was questioned by police and later charged with violating a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO), a broad censorship order enabled by the 2014 Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act. Under this law, local authorities can obtain special status for some public places, allowing them to ban a huge range of conduct. In the name of limiting &#8216;anti-social behavior.&#8217;</blockquote>
Yes, prayer is considered &#8220;anti-social behavior&#8221; in England. These kinds of arrests are happening because — from Britain to Colorado to Canada to Australia to China — authoritarians in government detest any challenge to their authority. These government officials know that they&#8217;re not impressive people. Australia&#8217;s prime minister has barely held a real job in his life. Most of the country is represented by people like this. They&#8217;re petrified that their subjects might worship someone other than themselves. As a result, they&#8217;re now throwing Christians in prison for practicing their faith. This trend has accelerated in China, and it&#8217;s now spreading throughout the West. Christians are being forcibly silenced, at scale. They are being vilified and incarcerated for what they believe.
I began by saying this isn&#8217;t a monologue about economics or trade wars. That&#8217;s true. But as we consider how we&#8217;ll work with these countries in the future — as we negotiate trade deals and so on — the assaults on Christians simply cannot be ignored. These attacks are as unlawful and immoral as they are systematic. They are becoming a fundamental part of the culture of both our allies and our adversaries. For the benefit of billions of Christians, and to preserve basic constitutional rights like the freedom of speech, this coordinated assault on religion must end before it progresses any further.

On Monday, California Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom signed into law legislation making his state the first in the nation to ban school districts from alerting parents of their children&#8217;s sexuality, or if they use pronouns or have adopted gender identities that conflict with those on their school records.
“This bill would prohibit school districts, county offices of education, charter schools, and the state special schools, and a member of the governing board or body of those educational entities, from enacting or enforcing any policy, rule, or administrative regulation that requires an employee or a contractor to disclose any information related to a pupil’s sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression to any other person without the pupil’s consent unless otherwise required by law.”
Assembly Bill 1955 <a href="https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id=202320240AB1955" target="_blank" rel="noopener">states</a>, “LGBTQ+ pupils have the right to express themselves freely at school without fear, punishment, or retaliation, including that teachers or administrators might &#8216;out&#8217; them without their permission. Policies that require outing pupils without their consent violate pupils’ rights to privacy and self-determination.”
California Legislative LGBTQ Caucus Chair Susan Eggman celebrated, “Today is a great day for California. The Governor’s signature on AB 1955, a first-in-the-nation policy, reaffirms California’s position as a leader and safe haven for LGBTQ+ youth everywhere.”
&#8220;AB 1955 is an outrageous attempt to keep parents in the dark while schools indoctrinate kids with radical gender ideology,&#8221; said Harmeet Dhillon, CEO and Founder of the Center for American Liberty. &#8220;By signing the bill, Gov. Newsom is transferring power away from our local communities and centralizing it in Sacramento, blatantly undermining our democratic values.&#8221;
In July 2023, the Chino Valley Unified School District became the state’s first to require parental notification if a student adopted a transgender identity. The next month, California Attorney General Rob Bonta filed a temporary restraining order to bar the district from implementing that policy.
“I can’t believe we’re at a point in America where authoritarians in power are fighting this hard to keep sexual secrets about children from their own parents,” Liberty Justice Center Board Member Corey DeAngelis <a href="//E1D32FF3-2E21-4127-96A0-6E4A9764580C/v" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stated</a>. “They are now using the heavy hand of the state to subvert local control and try to strip away the most fundamental parental rights. I’m proud of the parents in Chino Valley Unified who are fighting back for their constitutional right to direct the upbringing of their children. I’m proud to be a board member at Liberty Justice Center, fighting alongside them. We will win this war the authoritarians are waging on parents.”
After AB 1955 was introduced earlier this year, Jacob Huebert, the president of the Liberty Justice Center, which represented Chino Valley, declared, “Parents have a right to know what their own minor children are doing at school — and school officials have no right to keep secrets from parents. That’s true now, and it will still be true if the state passes this bill. We will continue to stand with parents and the school districts that want to respect their rights — and we’ll continue to represent them free of charge, at no cost to taxpayers.”
Several school districts in the state implemented parental notification policies, including Anderson Union High School District, Chino Valley Unified School District, Murrieta Valley Unified, Orange Unified School District, Rocklin Unified School District, and Temecula Valley Unified.

As Nathaniel Blake <a href="https://wng.org/opinions/the-lies-of-born-this-way-1691493975" target="_blank" rel="noopener">writes</a>, “the LGBTQ movement was built on a lie, and it is now breaking the promises it made to secure support from ordinary Americans.”
That lie is that queer people were “born this way.” The last ten years’ explosion in queer identification, coupled with social science research’s <a href="https://doi.org/10.1038/d41586-019-02585-6" target="_blank" rel="noopener">failure</a> to find a gay gene, as well as its <a href="https://doi.org/10.1080/00224499.2019.1577351" target="_blank" rel="noopener">findings</a> that sexuality is fluid, indicate that cannot be true. If people are “born queer,” the explosion in young people identifying as transgender simply wouldn’t be happening.
And it’s clear that identification is encouraged by social conditioning. As journalist Abigail Shrier writes in &#8220;Irreversible Damage,&#8221; “Those who teach gender ideology do not make adolescents transgender. They simply fill kids’ heads with gender options and ideology. Then, when the adolescents do experience a crisis, the heroic solution readily bobs to mind.” The multiple-hundred-fold <a href="https://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/949842?form=fpf#vp_2" target="_blank" rel="noopener">increase</a> in children seeking transgender mutilation coinciding with the saturation of culture in queer imagery and ideology indicates that people aren’t born queer — a piece of evidence that erases any claim to legal privileges for immutable characteristics.
The survival of Western culture depends on strong natural families and government structures that protect rather than destroy those families. In homes and institutions like schools whose authority descends from homes, culture is passed on to children authoritatively in the form of normative moral judgments, loyalties, and distinctions. When one learns both at home and in school to restrain one’s passions, it frees the soul to participate in self-government through rational thought and dialogue: logic, argumentation, and debate. This rational self-government culminates in Western culture and its highest expression, the American form of constitutionally limited government.

Sexual politics makes war against Western culture by attacking its origins in the father-headed household. Identity politics is an assault against the families who discipline their sexual relations within lifelong monogamous relationships. Its explicit goal is to overthrow Western civilization by overthrowing marriage and the families marriage naturally creates. Committed Cultural Marxists in the recent past, like the 1970s domestic terror group Weather Underground, followed New Left philosopher Herbert Marcuse’s “theory, outlined in his book Eros and Civilization, that sexual and political liberation are intertwined. They broke up monogamous relationships and asked members to submit their sexuality to the collective in order to surpass bourgeoise norms and ‘commit suicide as a class.’”
Sexual politics seeks to enact the Communist Manifesto’s demand for the “abolition of the family” as a means to abolish property and “bourgeoisie” social norms.  Marxist critical theory’s <a href="https://archive.org/details/marginsofphiloso0000derr">demand</a> for “inverting the hierarchies,” as applied by sexual identitarians, practically <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2017/11/06/bolshevik-revolution-reveals-six-phases-freedom-communist-misery/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">works out</a> to destroying marriage, the relationships between parents and children, and all strong male leadership. This is what sexual revolutionaries mean by their ubiquitous call for “smashing the patriarchy.”
Sexual politics’ true goal is not simply to grant government privileges to a tiny percentage of Americans who claimed discrimination — but who could have found workarounds such as powers of attorney to facilitate hospital visits between homosexual couples, or pro bono lawyers to write their wills and defend them in court. The goal was to destroy organic families as a mediating social institution that naturally limits government. The queer activist Masha Gessen made this explicit at a writer’s festival in 2012.
“It&#8217;s a no-brainer that the institution of marriage should not exist,” <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20130501084256/https:/www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/04/29/lesbian-activists-surprisingly-candid-speech-gay-marriage-fight-is-a-lie-to-destroy-marriage/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Gessen said</a>, voicing the stance of Karl Marx, Friedrich Engels, and the Cultural Marxist Frankfurt School to loud applause. “&#8230;Fighting for gay marriage generally involves lying about what we’re going to do with marriage when we get there. Because we lie that the institution of marriage is not going to change. And that is a lie. The institution of marriage is going to change — and it should change and, again, I don’t think it should exist.”
Queer theorists and practitioners aren’t kidding that they want a Marxist cultural revolution. They have openly proclaimed that everywhere from street protests to “academic” journals for 100 years. This revolution is already well underway in far-left states such as California, Illinois, Minnesota, and New York. LGBT laws that are replacing the normative American way of life and its original form of government are at the spearhead of this violent regime change.

TV personality <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">Wayne Brady</a> has announced that he is “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lgbtq">pansexual</a>.”
The host of the popular game show “Let’s Make a Deal” discussed his sexuality during a recent interview with <a href="https://people.com/wayne-brady-comes-out-as-pansexual-exclusive-7569897">People</a>. 
“In doing my research, both with myself and just with the world, I couldn’t say if I was bisexual, because I had to really see what that was, especially because I really have not gotten a chance to act on anything,” the 51-year-old <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">actor</a> and comedian told the outlet. 
“So I came to pansexual because — and I know that I’m completely messing up the dictionary meaning — but to me, pan means being able to be attracted to anyone who identifies as gay, straight, bi, transsexual or non-binary.”
“I took pan to mean that not only can I be attracted to any of these people or types physically, but I could be attracted to the person that is there,” he added.
GLAAD, an LGBTQ advocacy nonprofit, defines pansexual as “a person who has the capacity to form enduring physical, romantic, and/ or emotional attractions to any person, regardless of gender identity.”

Brady was previously married to Diana Lasso from 1993 to 1995. He was married to ex-wife Mandie Taketa from 1999 until 2008 and shares a 20-year-old daughter, Maile Brady, with her.  
The women described their reactions to Brady&#8217;s revelation.
“I just said, ‘Great.’ As I knew coming out would help him be happier,&#8221; Taketa said. His daughter Maile said, “I just said, ‘Okay.’&#8221;
Brady also discussed feeling attraction to men in the past but not wanting to admit it. “Let&#8217;s be really honest: I&#8217;ve also been attracted to certain men in my life, but I&#8217;ve always pushed that aside because of how I was raised, and because I live in today&#8217;s world, and it&#8217;s scary as sh**,” he said.
“What&#8217;s the fastest way to hurt another man? I&#8217;m gonna call you out of your name. I&#8217;m gonna call you gay. I&#8217;m gonna emasculate you. I&#8217;m gonna use the F-word. I learned that very early from the people around me, they&#8217;re like, &#8220;Oh, so those are bad things? Yeah. You, you don&#8217;t wanna be that.&#8221;
Brady said in the interview that he had previously been &#8220;treated for love addiction.”

A <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/michigan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Michigan</a> hate speech bill that has passed the state House and is now in the hands of the Senate is alarming conservatives, people of faith, and legal experts. 
The bill, <a href="http://www.legislature.mi.gov/documents/2023-2024/billengrossed/House/pdf/2023-HEBH-4474.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">HB 4474</a>, is part of a package of legislation that would <a href="https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/politics/michigan/2023/06/20/michigan-house-oks-new-hate-crime-church-synagogue-cemetery-desecration-penalties/70337842007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">replace</a> Michigan’s existing Ethnic Intimidation Act and make it a hate crime to cause someone to “feel terrorized, frightened, or threatened.” Under the bill’s framework, “sexual orientation” and “gender identity or expression” are included as classes protected against intimidation. If passed, the hate speech legislation would make violators guilty of a felony punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of $10,000.  
Many conservatives have voiced concerns that the bill infringes on Americans’ First Amendment rights. Distinguished Professor Emeritus William Wagner, a former federal judge and legal counsel in the U.S. Senate, joined the chorus of politicians and lawyers warning against the bill.
“Make no mistake about it. Those advocating for this legislation will wield these policies as a weapon capable of destroying conservative expression or viewpoints grounded in the sacred,” Wagner told The Daily Wire. “One merely needs to look at the scores of cases brought against schools, churches, businesses, and individuals around our country. Proponents use these laws to silence and financially cripple those who dare to adhere to a different viewpoint and oppose their agenda.”
The newest version of the bill, which passed the House, uses the term “harassment” without defining specifically what it could refer to. 
&#8220;’Intimidate’ means a willful course of conduct involving repeated or continuing harassment of another individual that would cause a reasonable individual to feel terrorized, frightened, or threatened, and that actually causes the victim to feel terrorized, frightened, or threatened,” the bill states.
Wagner said that under HB 4474, someone could listen to a speaker such as a religious preacher or read a conservative writer and claim they’re being intimidated because their “perceived gender identity” is under attack. Under the legislation, intimidation and harassment could be up to the interpretation of the listener and a local prosecutor, according to Wagner, who added that the bill determines what is criminal “after the action,” the opposite of the due process required by the Constitution. 
Rep. Angela Rigas, a Republican freshman in the state House, told The Daily Wire that including sexual orientation and gender identity as a “protected class” specifically targets conservatives who speak out against radical gender ideology.

“The state of Michigan is now explicitly allowing the gender delusion issue to be used as a ‘protected class.’ This opens up numerous issues when it comes to the courts and the continued weaponization of the system against conservatives,” Rigas said. “We saw similar concerns when they wanted to pass blocks on ‘conversion’ therapy. It seems Dems want to be in the business of telling people how to think. We are determined to keep choice and opinion a free choice despite those efforts.”
While HB 4474 includes a brief mention of constitutionally protected speech, it does not detail how the government would address First Amendment concerns such as religious liberty if the legislation passes and inevitably pits those who identify as LGBTQ against people of faith who oppose such lifestyles. 
“Intimidate does not include constitutionally protected activity or conduct that serves a legitimate purpose,” the bill states. 
In a Tuesday ruling that could potentially have implications for the hate speech legislation in Michigan, the Supreme Court <a href="https://apnews.com/article/supreme-court-true-threat-first-amendment-34dae41b15463a52b90f2b936fa3bb83" target="_blank" rel="noopener">set new standards</a> for what constitutes a threat, making it more difficult for a state to convict someone of making a threat. 
“The State must show that the defendant consciously disregarded a substantial risk that his communications would be viewed as threatening violence,” Justice Elena Kagan wrote for the majority opinion and was joined by six other justices. 
HB 4474 <a href="https://www.bridgemi.com/michigan-government/michigan-house-votes-expand-hate-crimes-protect-gay-disabled-residents" target="_blank" rel="noopener">passed</a> Michigan’s Democrat-controlled House 59-50 and is currently before the Senate, which is also controlled by Democrats. If passed, the bill will likely become law after a quick signature from the state&#8217;s Democratic governor, Gretchen Whitmer. With Republicans lacking the votes to stand in the way of the legislation, conservatives will have to rely on the courts. 
“Unfortunately here in Michigan, we have lost all three branches of power in our state,” Rigas said. “While my colleagues are introducing great bills to counter the infringements to our freedoms, there is no current way to fix these issues without higher courts becoming involved.”

<a href="http://dailywire.com/topic/minnesota" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Minnesota</a> lawmakers explicitly excluded <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/pedophilia" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pedophiles</a> from the state’s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/civil-rights" target="_blank" rel="noopener">human rights</a> statutes after one of their colleagues suggested loosening language that exempted adults attracted to children from enjoying legal protections under the law.
Minnesota State Rep. Leigh Finke, a member of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party and the first self-identified <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/transgender" target="_blank" rel="noopener">transgender</a> in the Minnesota Legislature, introduced an <a href="https://www.billtrack50.com/legislatordetail/27553" target="_blank" rel="noopener">amendment</a> in his Take Pride Act that would have altered the <a href="https://www.revisor.mn.gov/bills/text.php?number=HF1655&amp;version=0&amp;session=ls93&amp;session_year=2023&amp;session_number=0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">definition</a> of “sexual orientation” in the Minnesota Human Rights Act such that a provision clarifying that the term “does not include a physical or sexual attachment to children by an adult” would have been omitted. The move, in other words, would have allowed adults who claim attraction to children as part of their “sexual orientation” to be protected from discrimination under the law.
After the proposed amendment made national headlines, however, the Minnesota House unanimously <a href="https://www.house.mn.gov/cco/journals/2023-24/J0426057.htm#7103" target="_blank" rel="noopener">voted</a> on Wednesday to amend the Minnesota Human Rights Act in order to explicitly clarify that “the physical or sexual attachment to children by an adult is not a protected class” under the law. Minnesota State Rep. Harry Niska, a member of the Republican Party who introduced the clarification, <a href="https://twitter.com/HarryNiska/status/1651397025995399171" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> the unanimous vote was a “glimmer of common sense.”
Finke, a biological male who claims to be a woman, later <a href="https://twitter.com/leighfinke/status/1651388081595904007" target="_blank" rel="noopener">asserted</a> on social media that the original amendment would have changed “nothing about sexual orientation” and was misrepresented by the media. “Folks could have listened, but they didn’t want to,” the lawmaker added. “They instead used the opportunity to amplify the hatred of trans people. There was never a controversy, but it didn’t matter. The lie exploded into a whirlwind of hate intended to hurt me.”
Minnesota Family Council CEO John Helmberger told The Daily Wire that the organization appreciated the unanimous vote and expressed hope that both parties would work to protect children from exploitation. “We’re also extremely grateful that this amendment was adopted unanimously; that’s a great expression of the desire of legislators in both parties to protect children from exploitation,” he remarked. “However, we wish it hadn’t come to this point; we wish that the authors of this bill would have realized the potentially extremely dangerous direction this legislation would lead, and corrected it before it got to the House floor.”
Helmberger added that some lawmakers had told their constituents that the Minnesota Family Council was “misleading” the public on the dangers from the loophole for pedophiles offered by the initial amendment. “Yesterday’s unanimous vote shows that our concerns were grounded in fact, and Minnesota legislators realized that,” he continued. “We hope this is the start of a new bipartisan drive to protect Minnesota’s kids from exploitation.”
Democrats won control of the Minnesota State Senate last year, enabling lawmakers to <a href="https://www.revisor.mn.gov/bills/text.php?number=SF23&amp;version=latest&amp;session=ls93&amp;session_year=2023&amp;session_number=0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pass</a> a ban on so-called conversion therapy, defined as any measure “intended to change an individual&#8217;s sexual orientation or gender identity” or “reduce sexual or romantic attractions or feelings toward individuals of the same gender.” Lawmakers also <a href="https://www.revisor.mn.gov/bills/text.php?number=SF165&amp;version=latest&amp;session=ls93&amp;session_year=2023&amp;session_number=0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">approved</a> a measure requiring Minnesota to protect individuals who violate “a law of another state” to procure an abortion.
Minnesota Democratic Gov. Tim Walz <a href="https://twitter.com/GovTimWalz/status/1651608166780616704" target="_blank" rel="noopener">endorsed</a> both bills on Thursday, as well as legislation which will “protect access to gender-affirming health care.” Finke <a href="https://twitter.com/leighfinke/status/1651623913208651791" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> that the enactment of the three bills marked “an amazing, celebratory day in the movement for a more just future.”

Teachers from a Southern <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/california" target="_blank" rel="noopener">California</a> school district are allegedly teaching children through health education textbooks that 10 sexual orientations and eight genders exist.
Fox New Digital <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/california-district-curriculum-claims-10-sexual-orientations-skoliosexual-gynesexual" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that a textbook called &#8220;Comprehensive Health Skills for High School&#8221; ordered by the Newport-Mesa Unified School District makes such claims about gender and sexuality.
Alicia Beget, a mother with a child enrolled in the district, told Fox News Digital that the education system is sexualizing children by normalizing sexual behavior at a young age.
&#8220;We are placing them in a situation where they think that this is safe, that this is healthy, this is how we show love,&#8221; Beget said. &#8220;And so they are being exploited by very evil people.&#8221;
&#8220;This is part of a larger agenda that those at the very top are well aware of what they&#8217;re doing,&#8221; she added.
Teaching kids that their sexual orientation is separate from their gender identity, one textbook lists eight genders that include agender, androgynous, and bigender. Other identities listed are cisgender, gender fluid, and gender non-conforming. And to further confuse the kids, the book provides an option for them to be gender questioning.
On the sexual orientation front, the book also describes 10 different preferences.
Aside from hetero, homo, and bisexual orientations, the curriculum includes androsexual, polysexual, skoliosexual, demisexual, pansexual, gynesexual, and asexual.
Newport-Mesa district was also exposed previously by Fox New Digitial, which found that the district uses a &#8220;Genderbread Identity&#8221; man in sex education class.
Public records request by the news channel discovered that the district uses the so-called &#8220;Genderbread Identity&#8221; man to teach middle and high school students about what it&#8217;s like to be a transgender person in high school.
The character appears in a purchased curriculum called &#8220;Teen Talk,&#8221; which thousands of California students learn.
In response to Fox News Digital, the district said it follows the state-adopted health education standards, including sexual health.
&#8220;We use a state-approved health curriculum with select modules, taught by credentialed teachers. Parents can opt out their child from participating in comprehensive sex education. Parents also have the ability to review all curriculum taught in our schools so that they can be well-informed and make the best decisions for their child. We understand that there are varying viewpoints and beliefs, and we follow California State Standards for curriculum while also supporting parent choice.&#8221;

California School District Disseminates Health Education Curriculum With 10 Sexual Preferences, 8 Genders: Report

An elementary school teacher who was disciplined by her school after posting a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/tiktok" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TikTok</a> saying she talked to her students about sexuality has been hired again and is teaching even younger children at a new school.
Fourth-grade teacher Jenna Hall <a href="https://kutv.com/news/local/lehi-teacher-tenders-resignation-amid-backlash-over-tiktok-video">parted ways</a> in May with Renaissance Academy in Lehi, Utah, after the school investigated a TikTok in which Hall says some of her students &#8220;are queer because I&#8217;m queer.&#8221;
&#8220;A lot of them are queer because I&#8217;m queer, and they figured it out, and so I&#8217;ve become their safe space,&#8221; Hall says in the video posted on her TikTok account, which was <a href="https://twitter.com/libsoftiktok/status/1522642244720766976">highlighted</a> by the Twitter account Libs of TikTok.
She adds that her students, who by then had moved on to fifth grade, put a &#8220;queer&#8221; spin on a game called &#8220;Guess Who&#8221; when they came to visit her classroom.
Students said things like, &#8220;This person looks like a lesbian baddie who&#8217;s going to come over and make you dinner,&#8221; and &#8220;Which character just looks gay?&#8221; according to Hall.
&#8220;Man, I could never imagine being in fifth grade saying these things out loud, even though I know they&#8217;re all okay. I grew up super religious where nothing was okay,&#8221; she adds as the words &#8220;internalized homophobia&#8221; pop up on the screen.
After Hall&#8217;s TikTok went viral on social media and attracted national attention, she was placed on administrative leave while Renaissance Academy investigated the video, which they called &#8220;concerning.&#8221;
&#8220;In the video, the teacher described several inappropriate conversations with former students,&#8221; Renaissance Academy said at the time.
“Our teachers are expected to comport themselves with the highest degree of professionalism. Behavior that is unprofessional, in violation of state code, or that violates the trust placed in us by the families of Renaissance Academy will not be tolerated,” the charter school said.
Shortly afterward, Hall and the school &#8220;mutually agreed to separate,&#8221; and Hall resigned.
“I think parents across Utah, when we see things like this, you can’t help but feel a little bit violated,” Corrine Johnson, public relations director for Utah Parents United, <a href="https://www.wkbn.com/news/national-world/utah-teacher-on-leave-over-tiktok-video/">said</a> at the time.
“That is a parent’s domain — values, attitudes and beliefs of their children to be shaped by parents. And these topics, they do stray into the realm of religion,” Johnson said.
However, Hall is once again teaching elementary students this year.
Beehive Science &amp; Technology Academy in Sandy, Utah, has hired Hall as a second-grade teacher for the 2022 school year.
&#8220;Right now, my school is a brand new school, so none of the kids know each other, so we&#8217;re working on those social-emotional skills to know how to make friends and what good friends do,&#8221; Hall said in a video posted to her TikTok account on Tuesday.
In other TikToks posted in the last week, Hall says she is &#8220;going into my fourth year&#8221; of teaching, gives a tour of her classroom, and describes the activities she plans to assign on the first day of school.
&#8220;Welcome to Miss Hall&#8217;s class! I&#8217;m so glad you&#8217;re here!&#8221; is written on the whiteboard in the classroom she shows. &#8220;Welcome to second grade&#8221; is written in colorful letters on the door.
On Thursday morning, parents of children attending Beehive Academy organized a small, peaceful protest outside the school to protest Hall&#8217;s hiring.

One parent of a child at Beehive Academy said they were &#8220;horrified&#8221; to learn that Hall would be teaching at the school when a group of parents recognized her at a back-to-school event in July.
&#8220;Jenna Hall should not even be around children, let alone teach a second grade class,&#8221; the parent told The Daily Wire.
&#8220;Our kids deserve more from our teachers. Many of us at Beehive removed our children from the public school system in search of real academic excellence without a political agenda. There now seem to be few options free of children groomers like Ms. Hall. Therefore, my family and others with similar concerns have decided to fight back,&#8221; the parent said.
The parent called for Beehive Academy to terminate Hall immediately.
Contacted for comment, Beehive Academy defended Hall&#8217;s hiring, saying it is &#8220;confident&#8221; students will benefit from Hall&#8217;s presence.
&#8220;Since its inception, Beehive Science and Technology Academy has been a strong advocate of human rights for all of its students and staff members. Discrimination in any form is against everything this school stands for. Diversity of beliefs and cultures helps encourage an environment of growth and acceptance among all of us,&#8221; Beehive Academy Director Hanifi Oguz told The Daily Wire in an email.
&#8220;Due to privacy laws, we will not be discussing the qualifications of the individual in question. However, we can assure you that this person—like all of our staff members—has been carefully vetted and interviewed.  We’re confident that all of our students will benefit from this individual’s presence on our campus,&#8221; Oguz said.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/michigan">Michigan</a>’s highest court ruled Thursday that the state’s civil rights protections preventing discrimination on the basis of sex also apply to sexual orientation and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/gender-identity">gender identity</a>.
In a 5-2 decision, Michigan’s Supreme Court ruled in favor of a same-sex couple and a transgender person, arguing that their civil rights were violated by businesses refusing them service, WOOD TV <a href="https://www.woodtv.com/news/michigan/michigan-supreme-court-says-anti-bias-law-protects-lgbtq/">reported</a>. The ruling is being heralded as a major victory for the LGBTQ community, but many are concerned about its implications for religious liberty.
“Discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation necessarily constitutes discrimination because of sex,” the majority opinion, written by Republican-nominated Justice Beth Clement, <a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JbhtiOlZlS_ImF5k546gNLzE8O5KtuZk/view">stated</a>. “Accordingly, the denial of ‘the full and equal enjoyment of the goods, services, facilities, privileges, advantages, or accommodations of a place of public accommodation or public service’ on the basis of sexual orientation constitutes discrimination ‘because of . . . sex.’”
Four Democrat-nominated justices joined Clement in the opinion that targets small businesses in the state that are not already subject to federal workplace laws.
In a dissent, Justice David Viviano expressed concern for religious liberty protections, <a href="https://www.bridgemi.com/michigan-government/michigan-supreme-court-lgbt-discrimination-barred-under-existing-law">according</a> to Bridge Michigan. “This departs from the normal principle that courts will first consider whether an interpretation raises grave constitutional doubts before adopting that interpretation,” he wrote.
The case appeared before the Supreme Court after the Michigan Civil Rights Commission <a href="https://www.mlive.com/news/2018/07/commission_disregards_attorney.html">authorized</a> the Department of Civil Rights to investigate complaints of discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity in 2018. Two businesses, Rouch World and UpRooted Electrolysis, sued in response to complaints filed against them, relying on their religious beliefs as the reason they do not serve gay and transgender people. The lawsuit also argued that the Civil Rights Commission did not have the authority to bypass the legislature and interpret Michigan civil rights law differently from how it was laid out in 1976, since the law does not mention sexual orientation or gender identity.
Rouch World refused to host a same-sex wedding, and laser removal company UpRooted Electrolysis did not give service to a transgender person identifying as a woman who wanted hair removed. The court ultimately ruled against the two companies&#8217; arguments in the landmark decision.
Michigan Democrat Governor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/gretchen-whitmer">Gretchen Whitmer</a> applauded the high court&#8217;s decision, saying it is a historical moment for her state. “For too long, LGBTQ+ Michiganders had been left out of our state’s civil rights protections,” Whitmer <a href="https://twitter.com/GovWhitmer/status/1552785248529915904">tweeted</a>. “For years, I have fought to bring our LGBTQ+ community under the protection of the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act. Today, I am proud that history has been made.”
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, also a Democrat, personally appeared before the court during arguments in March and urged the justices to rule in favor of the LGTBQ community.
&#8220;Michiganders deserve to live in a state that recognizes the value of diversity &amp; rejects the notion that our own civil rights law could be used as a tool of discrimination,&#8221; Nessel, who is Michigan&#8217;s first openly gay politician elected to statewide office, <a href="https://twitter.com/dananessel/status/1552762342361948161">wrote</a> following the court&#8217;s decision Thursday. &#8220;This ruling is a victory for the LGBTQ+ community, for all MI residents, &amp; one that’s long overdue.&#8221;

In the clip, Baymax stood in the feminine hygiene aisle of a store and stared at the shelf in front of him. After a moment, he turned to the woman next to him and asked for her recommendation for a good product. She responded first with surprise, and then immediately did her best to assist him — and a crowd of others quickly joined in with their suggestions as well.
&#8220;Excuse me. Which of these products would you recommend?&#8221; Baymax asked.
&#8220;Oh, um — well — these are the tampons I usually use,&#8221; the woman replied.
&#8220;Thank you,&#8221; Baymax said.
&#8220;I prefer pads,&#8221; another woman interjected. &#8220;They&#8217;re more comfortable for me.&#8221;
&#8220;Thank you,&#8221; Baymax said again.
&#8220;I always get the ones with wings,&#8221; another person — whose shirt was a transgender flag — chimed in as well.
As the crowd around Baymax continued to grow, another woman added, &#8220;Get unscented and bleach-free if you can.&#8221;
&#8220;Yo, my daughter loves these!&#8221; a man reached over Baymax&#8217;s shoulder to show him another package.
&#8220;These might be easier if it&#8217;s her first period,&#8221; yet another woman held a package out to Baymax, as one more approached the group, saying, &#8220;These are really environmentally friendly!&#8221;
Rufo&#8217;s previous efforts to expose the goings-on within Disney netted a number of videos revealing an executive&#8217;s &#8220;<a href="https://dailywire.com/news/not-at-all-secret-gay-agenda-disney-employees-break-down-adding-queerness-to-shows-and-degenderizing-theme-parks/">not-at-all-secret gay agenda</a>&#8221; and plans to infuse shows for children of all ages with examples of multiple different gender identities and sexual orientations.

Tom Hiddleston hopes his Disney Marvel character &#8220;Loki coming out as bisexual was meaningful&#8221; and a &#8220;small step&#8221; but said &#8220;there&#8217;s further to go&#8221; when it comes to representing the comic book&#8217;s character&#8217;s sexuality.
During the 41-year-old actor&#8217;s recent interview with the <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2022/may/07/tom-hiddleston-year-in-tv-loki-coming-out-bisexual-meaningful-to-people">Guardian</a>, the &#8220;Thor&#8221; star was asked about his character making the transition from the big screen to the small one with his hit <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/new-thor-love-and-thunder-trailer-has-fans-predicting-marvel-superhero-is-gay">Marvel</a> spinoff series on Disney+ and called it an honor.
&#8220;I was just really honoured to be asked,&#8221; Hiddleston explained. &#8220;We all wanted to retain the integrity of the character – I wanted to make sure we didn&#8217;t lose the bits that people loved, while doing something new.&#8221;

For those that might&#8217;ve missed it, it happened during the third episode &#8220;Lamentis&#8221; in which Hiddleston&#8217;s character discusses his past romantic relationships with Lady Loki, i.e. Sylvie (played by Sophia Di Martino), <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/loki-bisexual-mcu-canon-director-delighted">reported</a> IGN.
Sylvie asked Loki whether he&#8217;s ever been interested in &#8220;would-be princesses, or perhaps another prince?&#8221;
&#8220;A bit of both. I suspect the same as you,&#8221; Loki replied.
After the episode aired, director Kate Herron tweeted that &#8220;From the moment I joined Loki it was very important to me, and my goal, to acknowledge Loki was bisexual.&#8221;

In 2021, &#8220;The Avengers&#8221; star&#8217;s co-star Di Martino <a href="https://variety.com/2021/tv/news/loki-sophia-di-martino-sylvie-bisexual-1235005695/">told Variety</a> that having Loki come out as bisexual was important to Herron.
&#8220;I think people have been waiting a long time for it,&#8221; Sophia shared. &#8220;The comic books allude to it and even the Norse mythology, I think. Megan Fox is the latest in a long line of celebrities to promote radical leftwing gender theory with her children.
The 35-year-old mother of three recently discussed the issue during an <a href="https://www.glamourmagazine.co.uk/article/megan-fox-digital-cover-interview-april-2022">interview</a> with Glamour UK. Fox said that when her 9-year-old son Noah started expressing his desire to wear dresses, she decided to educate him with literature made for and made by transgender individuals.
&#8220;I do have a child that suffers,&#8221; she said of her son being bullied. &#8220;I have a lot of worries about that, because I just wish that humanity was not like this. Although my kid is so brave and my child is so brave and I know that they’ve chosen this journey for a reason. It’s just hard as a mom.”
“I bought a bunch of books that sort of addressed these things and addressed a full spectrum of what this is,” she told the publication. “So from the time they were very young, I’ve incorporated those things into their daily lives so that nobody feels like they are weird or strange or different.”
&#8220;Some of the books are written by transgender children. Some of the books are just about how you can be a boy and wear a dress; you can express yourself through your clothing however you want,&#8221; Fox continued. &#8220;And that doesn&#8217;t even have to have anything to do with your sexuality.&#8221;
Fox shares Noah and her two other children with ex-husband Brian Austin Green. The pair split, and the “Jennifer’s Body” star moved on to an intense and public relationship with musical artist Machine Gun Kelly, whose real name is Colson Baker. They are engaged now.
Fox has long been a supporter of LGBT causes.
“I think people are born bisexual and they make subconscious choices based on the pressures of society,&#8221; she said in a 2009 <a href="https://classic.esquire.com/article/2009/6/1/good-morning-megan">interview</a> with Esquire. &#8220;I have no question in my mind about being bisexual,&#8221; the actress added.
In 2019, she asked her followers to speak against legislation in Tennessee. &#8220;My home state of Tennessee is on the verge of passing a &#8216;Slate of Hate.&#8217; A slew of anti-LGBTQ bills including business license to discriminate, child welfare and anti-trans bills,&#8221; she <a href="https://www.facebook.com/MeganFox/photos/my-home-state-of-tennessee-is-on-the-verge-of-passing-a-slate-of-hate-a-slew-of-/10156120255690423/">shared</a> at the time.
During the most recent interview, the actress also told Glamour UK how the guilt of motherhood plagues her because of her profession.
“I travel for long periods of time and they have to attend school, which is what it is. I wish I could take them out to travel with me, it would make things a lot easier,” Fox said. “I cry often, every new moon usually. I get in the bath and cry a lot about it, because it is hard and not because of pressures that anybody else or society puts on you, but it is just hard being separated from them in that way. They are my DNA.”
“It’s hard to not feel obligated to be with them all the time or to constantly feel like I’m not doing a good enough job, but I’m also separated from their father,” she continued. “So, I can only have them half of the time. That just is what it is. And in some ways that allows me to have moments for myself, where I can live my life as me, not just always being someone’s mother and that’s nice, but you always struggle with the guilt, kind of feeling like, ‘I haven’t done enough.’”
