<p>Jennifer Siebel Newsom, wife of Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) and self-described &#8220;First Partner of California,&#8221; offered a bizarre defense of former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and former Attorney General Pam Bondi.</p>
<p>Newsom, in a recent video, claimed that the two women — both recently removed from cabinet-level positions in President Donald Trump&#8217;s administration — were victims of &#8220;the Patriarchy&#8221; and proof positive that the war on women was raging ever onward.</p>

<p>&#8220;Trust me, I&#8217;m not a fan of Pam Bondi nor Kristi Noem,&#8221; Newsom began, adding, &#8220;But I need to call out that it&#8217;s no surprise to me that the first two prominent people pushed out of this administration were women.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Let me explain. The conservative women that Trump handpicks, who align themselves with an agenda that controls women, restricting our rights, limiting our autonomy, and pushing us back into the straitjacket of femininity that is only in service of men, that&#8217;s a familiar pattern here,&#8221; Newsom claimed. &#8220;Women are brought in and packaged Mar-a-Lago-style and lifted up, as long as they commit to whole-heartedly serve the interests of the patriarch at the top.&#8221;</p>
<p>Newsom went on to argue that those positions only <em>appeared</em> to hold power &#8220;or proximity to power&#8221; and failed to provide any kind of real authority or security: &#8220;There’s no secure place inside this handpicked patriarchal body that systemically disrespects, devalues, and discriminates against women and girls.&#8221;</p>
<p>California&#8217;s &#8220;first partner&#8221; pivoted to attack Noem and Bondi — and other women aligned with the Trump administration — as &#8220;complicit&#8221; in devaluing other women and warned that they would always be the &#8220;first to go&#8221; when it mattered.</p>
<p>&#8220;Your power is only temporary,&#8221; she claimed, adding, &#8220;And ultimately, they will come for you.&#8221;</p>
<p>Newsom made no mention of the fact that Trump was responsible for hiring the first woman to manage a winning presidential campaign (Kellyanne Conway), the first working mother to serve as White House Press Secretary (Sarah Huckabee Sanders), and the first woman to serve as White House Chief of Staff (Susie Wiles). She also failed to acknowledge that it was actually a man — Green Beret veteran Mike Waltz, now serving as U.S. Ambassador to the UN — who was the first high-ranking official to be ousted from his role as national security adviser.</p>

<p>Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) claimed during a recent &#8220;listening tour&#8221; event that former Vice President Kamala Harris chose him as her running mate because he could &#8220;code talk to white guys&#8221; and provide a &#8220;permission structure&#8221; in which they might feel comfortable voting for a black woman.</p>
<p>Walz spoke Monday evening at a Harvard Kennedy School forum — and after stating that he had no plans to run for the Democratic nomination in 2028, he explained what he believed he&#8217;d brought to the table during the 2024 presidential campaign.</p>

<p>CBS News host Gayle King took issue with those who referred to her eight minutes in space — with an all-female, celebrity-heavy &#8220;crew&#8221; — as &#8220;a ride,&#8221; arguing that it was sexist and &#8220;disrespectful&#8221; to do so.</p>
<p>King responded to critics in an interview with Extra after her Blue Origin space flight — alongside performer Katy Perry and Blue Origin owner Jeff Bezos&#8217; fiancée Lauren Sanchez, among others — returned to earth, also hitting back at those who complained about the expense of such a &#8220;frivolous&#8221; trip.</p>

<p>&#8220;I think it’s good that we can really address it,&#8221; King said. &#8220;Because I was one of those people before I went on this flight and before I became educated on space. ‘Why are we spending so much money on space when there’s so much to do on Earth?’ I was one of those people.&#8221;</p>
<p>King said that part of what had changed her mind was learning that Blue Origin intended &#8220;to figure out a way to harness the waste here and figure out a way to put it in space to make the planet Earth a better place.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;So I wish people would do more due diligence. And then my question is, have y’all been to space? Go to space or go to Blue Origin and see what they do &#8230; and then come back and say, ‘This is a terrible thing,'&#8221; King continued, arguing that if there were more demand for commercial space flights, the cost of such a flight would eventually come down.</p>
<p>King went on to complain about the underlying sexist tone of those referring to the eight-minute space flight as &#8220;a ride,&#8221; saying, &#8220;You never see a man, a male astronaut, who’s going up in space and they say, ‘Oh, he took a ride.’ … It’s always referred to as a flight or a journey, so I feel that’s a little disrespectful to what the mission was and the work that Blue Origin does.&#8221;</p>
<p>The Daily Wire&#8217;s Matt Walsh hit back at King, mocking her for referring to herself as &#8220;an astronaut&#8221; and saying, &#8220;Gayle King thinks she’s an astronaut because she took a 10 minute ride on her friend’s boyfriend’s rocket ship.&#8221;</p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;">As former President Donald Trump marched to victory over Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday night, leftist members of the media and Democrats cited racism and misogyny.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Trump was declared the victor first by Fox News, but it took hours for other news organizations to admit the fact.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Former Barack Obama advisor David Axelrod cited sexism as part of the reason for Harris’ defeat.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“I think there are plenty of ways to critique her as a candidate; I think they’ll be time to do that,&#8221; Axelrod said. &#8220;But that doesn’t obviate the fact that there were some people who probably voted against her, we’ve never had a woman president, that there’s sexism in this country.&#8221;</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“I do have to wonder what role race and gender played,” ABC’s Linsey Davis said.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“I mean, we’re talking about, one thing that stands out, a less diverse electorate, when you think about even just at-large with the world, of the 193 member nations only 13 have a woman who leads them. Black women are often the last at the table when it comes to pay disparity in this country, getting 67 cents on the dollar when it comes to white men.&#8221;</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Davis went on: &#8220;And so I don’t know that we have the answers tonight, but I think that is kind of the elephant in the room that we’re not talking about, because we’re not just talking about having a woman, we’re talking about having a woman of color, and I think that that’s something that we cannot underestimate.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Asked why Trump won, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) declared, “Racism is the basic part. Now I know that there will be some support from some minorities, but basically, we’re outnumbered. We’re outnumbered. And it’s not about whether or not, y’know, people are selecting absolutely based on public policy or whether or not there’s an elected official who’s willing to do what’s in the best interest of all the people.&#8221;</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;People don’t like to talk about racism,&#8221; Waters said. &#8220;But the fact of the matter is the majority of his votes are going to come from whites, and that’s who he has been talking to, all campaign, about taking the country back, taking it back from too many minorities who are doing too well.”</p>

<p><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/stacey-abrams" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Stacey Abrams</a> this week accused black men who are not supporting Vice President Kamala Harris&#8217; presidential campaign of being racist and sexist.</p>
<p>The Georgia Democrat, who has denied the results of the elections that she lost when she twice ran to become the state&#8217;s governor and lost both times to Republican Governor Brian Kemp, was asked about remarks from a Georgia pastor who recently said that &#8220;misogyny&#8221; was &#8220;still real&#8221; in the black community and was the reason that Abrams lost.</p>
<p>&#8220;I know it&#8217;s a shock to everyone, but sexism remains real and a very pertinent issue,&#8221; Abrams claimed.</p>
<p>Abrams claimed that Harris was doing &#8220;very well with black men&#8221; even though polling has found that Harris is not doing as well with black voters as past Democrat presidential candidates, and former President Donald Trump has the highest support from that community of any Republican presidential candidate since 1960.</p>
<p>&#8220;However, we do have to acknowledge that there is sexism. There is racism,&#8221; she later added. &#8220;There are challenges in our electorate and that&#8217;s why it&#8217;s so important that Kamala Harris is going everywhere and talking to everyone. She respects voters. She meets them where they are and she refuses to be told that she has lost a cohort, lost a community simply because she&#8217;s different.&#8221;<b></b></p>

<p>He said that the lack of enthusiasm for Harris “seems to be more pronounced with the brothers.”</p>
<p>Obama then disparaged voters who might vote for Trump or sit out the election.</p>
<p>“You’re coming up with all kinds of reasons and excuses, I’ve got a problem with that,” Obama said. “Because part of it makes me think – and I’m speaking to men directly – part of it makes me think that, well, you just aren’t feeling the idea of having a woman as president, and you’re coming up with other alternatives and other reasons for that.”</p>
<p>Obama added that the “women in our lives have been getting our backs this entire time.”</p>
<p>“When we get in trouble and the system isn’t working for us, they’re the ones out there marching and protesting,” he added.</p>

<p>An instructor at the University of Kansas has been placed on administrative leave after he was recorded telling his class that men who don’t vote for a female president should be shot.</p>

<p>In a statement to The Daily Wire, the University of Kansas said the instructor had been placed on leave, “pending further investigation.”</p>
<p>“The instructor offers his sincerest apologies and deeply regrets the situation,” Erinn Barcomb-Peterson, the school’s director for news and media relations, told The Daily Wire in an email. “His intent was to emphasize his advocacy for women’s rights and equality, and he recognizes he did a very poor job of doing so. The university has an established process for situations like this and will follow that process.”</p>
<p>Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS) shared the video on X, calling it “disturbing.”</p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;">“Cornell University recently placed a <a href="https://news.cornell.edu/media-relations/tip-sheets/what-harris-candidacy-means-cornell-experts-weigh" target="_blank" rel="noopener">press release</a> on its web page in which three professors provided insight into Harris’ candidacy,” Campus Reform <a href="https://www.campusreform.org/article/cornell-profs-fear-harris-will-victim-misogynoir/26098" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“There is no question that Harris’s candidacy will open up a torrent of misogynoir, a term coined by Moya Bailey and Trudy for the intersection of misogyny and racism (particularly anti-Black racism, although Harris is also of course South Asian),” associate professor of philosophy Kate Manne complained. “It’s our job to fight it in our circles and even ourselves. Opposing the misogynoir Harris is about to face loudly and vocally is the only way forward. The fate of our country hangs precariously in the balance.”</p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;">Gay resigned after numerous allegations of plagiarism had been made against her and her testimony before Congress about anti-Semitism on Harvard’s campus. Following Gay’s resignation, Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/elise-stefanik-harvard-president-claudine-gays-resignation-was-long-overdue">stated</a>, “It was long overdue. She should have resigned immediately following the hearing.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“[S]he failed to stand up for Jewish students on campus who have been facing antisemitic attacks, who have been facing physical assault,” Stefanik continued. “We’ve seen that footage. We’ve heard that directly from students on campus. We’ve also heard faculty concerns about her tenure, and her position, and her lack of academic integrity. But it really goes back to protecting Jewish students. And, frankly, when it comes to Harvard, the only time that Harvard has pled for academic freedom or freedom of speech was when it comes to the genocide of the Jewish people. <p>Veteran news anchor Katie Couric outed former colleague Bryant Gumbel as &#8220;incredibly sexist,&#8221; claiming that he suggested she should deliver her baby &#8220;in a field&#8221; and come straight back to the show rather than taking some time off for maternity leave.</p>

<p>She went on to say that things kind of came to a head when she planned to take maternity leave when her first child was born.</p>
<p>&#8220;And he was giving me endless s*** for taking like a month or two off. I was having my first baby,&#8221; she said. &#8220;He was like, ‘Why don’t you just drop it in the field and come back to work right away or something?'&#8221;</p>
<p>Maher, who is friends with Gumbel, pressed Couric on that point and said that it sounded like he probably meant that last remark as a joke — and while Couric conceded that he&#8217;d been &#8220;kidding,&#8221; she said that wasn&#8217;t the only thing he had said on the matter.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s almost spring cleaning time, but according to one college <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/professor" target="_blank" rel="noopener">professor</a>, cleaning your pantry is <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/racism" target="_blank" rel="noopener">racist</a> and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sexism" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sexist</a>.</p>
<p>A viral TikTok trend has emerged where users share their well-organized refrigerators and pantry closets. But Loyola University Chicago marketing professor <a href="https://www.luc.edu/quinlan/faculty/jennadrenten.shtml" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jenna Drenten</a> wrote in <a href="https://theconversation.com/pantry-porn-on-tiktok-and-instagram-makes-obsessively-organized-kitchens-a-new-status-symbol-197517" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Conversation</a> criticizing the trend, which she dubbed &#8220;pantry porn,&#8221; for glamorizing and stylizing home organization. Drenten then said that the trend was similar to the desire for niceness, which was rooted in racism and sexism.</p>
<p>&#8220;In today’s consumer culture, &#8216;a place for everything and everything in its place&#8217; isn’t just a mantra; it’s big business. Nowhere is this more evident than the kitchen pantry,&#8221; Drenten wrote. &#8220;As someone who studies digital consumer culture, I’ve noticed an uptick in glamorized, stylized and fully stocked pantries on TikTok and Instagram, giving rise to a content genre I dub &#8216;pantry porn.’”</p>
<p>Drenten wrote about how pantries emerged as a status symbol in the 1800s, then became more common in middle-class homes in the 20th century, before becoming ubiquitous in modern times. She then said that modern celebrity culture has made the pantry a status symbol once again, while social media influencers have also stepped in to bring the status symbol back down to the masses.</p>
<p>Furthermore, &#8220;pantry porn&#8221; stems from the early social media phenomenon of &#8220;food porn,&#8221; highly glamorized pictures of cooking and eating food.</p>
<p>Having established the pantry as a status symbol, Drenten goes further. &#8220;Storing spices in coordinated glass jars and color coordinating dozens of sprinkles containers may seem trivial,&#8221; she said. &#8220;But tidiness is tangled up with status, and messiness is loaded with assumptions about personal responsibility and respectability. Cleanliness has historically been used as a cultural gatekeeping mechanism to reinforce status distinctions based on a vague understanding of ‘niceness’: nice people, with nice yards, in nice houses, make for nice neighborhoods.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;What lies beneath the surface of this anti-messiness, pro-niceness stance is a history of classist, racist and sexist social structures,&#8221; she concluded. &#8220;In my research, influencers who produce pantry porn are predominantly white women who demonstrate what it looks like to maintain a ‘nice’ home by creating a new status symbol: the perfectly organized, fully stocked pantry.&#8221;</p>
<p>Drenten also claimed that the trend reinforces sexist tropes about the domestic housewife as a feminine ideal. &#8220;Magazines like Good Housekeeping were once the brokers of idealized domestic work,&#8221; she wrote. &#8220;Now online pantry porn sets the aspirational standard for becoming an ideal mom, ideal wife and ideal woman. This grew out of a shift toward an intensive mothering ideology that equates being a good mom with time-intensive, labor-intensive, financially expensive care work.”</p>
<p>&#8220;Sure, all of those baskets and bins serve a functional purpose in the home: seeing what you need, when you need it,&#8221; she added. &#8220;But the social pressure to curate a perfect pantry might make some women work overtime. Pantry porn, as a status symbol, relies on the promise of making daily domestic work easier. But if women are largely responsible for the work required to maintain the perfectly organized pantry, it’s critical to ask: easier for whom?&#8221;</p>

<p class="p1"><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/missouri" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Missouri</a> House lawmakers <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2023/01/13/missouri-state-legislators-adopt-more-strict-dress-code-women/11046371002/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">voted</a> to <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/3812448-missouri-house-adopts-new-dress-code-for-women-requiring-covering-of-arms/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">change</a> the women’s dress code on Wednesday, sparking outrage from Democrats and several legacy media <a href="https://www.npr.org/2023/01/13/1149057491/missouri-house-dress-code-women-cardigan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reports</a> that looked to imply there was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sexism" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sexism</a> at play, even though the new code ended up looking surprisingly similar to the previous dress code.</p>
<p class="p1">Republican state Representative Ann Kelley pushed for the changes, saying that the dress code needed to be clarified.</p>
<p class="p1">&#8220;Isn&#8217;t it is essential to always maintain a formal and professional atmosphere on the House floor?&#8221; Kelley asked. &#8220;And to ensure this happens, I have felt compelled to offer this amendment, which cleans up some of the language in rule 98 by mirroring the previous language and the gentleman&#8217;s dress code.”</p>
<p class="p1">“Men are required to wear a jacket, a shirt and a tie, correct? And if they walked in here without a tie, they would get gaveled down in a heartbeat. If they walked in without a jacket, they would get gaveled down in a heartbeat. So, we are so interested in being equal,” Kelley also <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/01/13/politics/missouri-dress-code-lawmakers-house/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span class="s1">noted</span></a>.</p>
<p class="p1">“All we’re trying to do today is to take the same rules that we have and make them more clear,” Republican state Representative Brenda Shields <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/01/12/missouri-women-dress-code-arms-house/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>.</p>
<p class="p1">The previous dress code from 2021 <a href="https://house.mo.gov/billtracking/bills211/rules/rules.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span class="s1">states</span></a> that “[p]roper attire for women shall be dresses or skirts or slacks worn with a blazer or sweater and appropriate dress shoes or boots. This rule shall apply to all members and staff on the floor of the House and lower gallery.”</p>
<p class="p1">For men, it says that “proper attire for gentlemen shall be business attire, including coat, tie, dress trousers, and dress shoes or boots.”</p>
<p class="p1">The dress code amendment was approved in a voice vote. A rules package with the new dress code then <a href="https://house.mo.gov/BillTracking/PDFViewer/web/viewer.html?file=/billtracking/bills231/jrnpdf/jrn005.pdf#page=10" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span class="s1">passed</span></a> on Wednesday in a <a href="https://house.mo.gov/Bill.aspx?bill=HR11&amp;year=2023&amp;code=R" target="_blank" rel="noopener">vote</a> of 105-51.</p>
<p class="p1">One dress code amendment <a href="https://house.mo.gov/BillTracking/PDFViewer/web/viewer.html?file=/billtracking/bills231/jrnpdf/jrn005.pdf#page=10" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stated</a> that “[p]roper attire for women shall be business attire, including jackets worn with dresses, skirts, or slacks, and dress shoes or boots. For the purposes of this rule, ‘jacket’ shall include blazers and knit blazers.”</p>
<p class="p1">The word “cardigan&#8221; was also added after the word &#8220;blazers&#8221; in an amendment by Shields as people reportedly pushed back on the rule change.</p>
<p class="p1">Democrats, in particular, voiced their concerns on the House floor.</p>
<p class="p1">“We are fighting — again — for a woman’s right to choose for something. This time, it’s how she covers herself — and the interpretation of someone who has no background in fashion,” Democratic state Representative Raychel Proudie <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/01/12/missouri-women-dress-code-arms-house/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span class="s1">argued</span></a> during a speech. “I spent $1,200 on a suit, and I can’t wear it in the People’s House because someone who doesn’t have the range tells me that it’s inappropriate.”</p>
<p class="p1">Proudie also said that some coworkers might be pregnant and would have to spend money on new attire to be in line with the rule.</p>
<p class="gnt_ar_b_p">&#8220;We are a place of laws and words do matter,&#8221; Proudie said. &#8220;This is a place where we ought to be dressed in business formal, which does call for women to have our arms covered. I think we&#8217;re being quite pedantic here by making rules so petty and what it will ultimately lead to is the disenfranchisement of folks.&#8221;</p>
<p class="p1">“You surely don’t have the money off the salary that we make to go buy a bunch of new clothes or tailored clothes, and I hope you’re able to continue to wear your cardigan and vote on behalf of the people who sent you here,” Proudie said.</p>
<p class="p1">Democratic State Representative Ashley Aune also pushed back, saying, “Do you know what it feels like to have a bunch of men in this room looking at your top trying to decide whether it’s appropriate or not?”</p>
<p class="p1">Kelley, in favor of the change, questioned why they were discussing the matter on the House floor at all.</p>
<p class="p1">“You would think, you would think, that all you would have to do is, say, dress professionally, and women could handle it,” Kelley responded. “You would think elected officials could handle that.”</p>
