A lone child emerged from the brush along the banks of the Rio Grande River in Hidalgo, Texas, last month, availing herself to Border Patrol agents.
The girl told the agents she was heading to Chugaik, Alaska, to live with her sponsor, Douglas Price, who was later determined to be a 44-year-old registered sex offender, according to the Department of Justice. Price allegedly funneled $5,000 from his business to pay migrant smugglers to bring the child and his mother across the border.
The child, who was separated from her mother before crossing, was rescued before she ended up in the hands of a criminal, thanks to the Trump administration&#8217;s crackdown on sponsors of unaccompanied alien children.
“This man allegedly paid smugglers to bring an illegal alien child and mother to this country, and in doing so, the child ended up alone during the dangerous journey,” Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said.
“Under POTUS, vetting of sponsors for unaccompanied alien children is as strong as ever, and federal partners found this &#8216;sponsor&#8217; to be unfit. It is a crime to smuggle illegal aliens into this country, and particularly horrendous to expose a child to untold dangers. Working with our federal partners, we will continue to uphold the law and in doing so, keep children from potential harm,&#8221; Blanche added.
The Trump administration has sought to improve the vetting of migrant child sponsors who cross the border alone, while also working to hunt down the roughly 320,000 such children that the Biden administration lost track of, and in some cases handed to gang members and sex and labor traffickers.
During the Biden administration, personnel from the Department of Health and Human Services made a &#8220;simple phone call&#8221; and reviewed an email photo before placing a migrant child with their sponsor, The Daily Wire previously reported.
The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/inside-the-trump-administrations-effort-to-stop-child-migrant-trafficking">Trump administration now requires</a> sponsors and other adults living with them to undergo background checks. The sponsors must also provide proof of income.
Additionally, if the sponsor claims to be a relative, they must also undergo a DNA test. Homeland Security agents meet with the sponsor, while HHS officials visit their home.
Thus far, federal authorities have successfully tracked down 145,000 of the missing children, White House border czar Tom Homan recently said.
Through that effort, Price has been charged with conspiracy to bring aliens to the United States and encouraging aliens to come to, enter, or reside in the country, according to the Department of Justice. He could now spend up to a decade behind bars and a possible $250,000 maximum fine if he&#8217;s convicted.
The child left her home country of Honduras with her mother and a smuggler. Her mother told the child that Price would be her sponsor and would assist her with &#8220;obtaining her U.S. citizenship,&#8221; according to court documents.
In an interview with a Homeland Security Investigations agent, the child said Price sent money to her mother to pay the smugglers.
Price paid roughly $5,000 to fund the mother and daughter&#8217;s dangerous journey to the border &#8220;through payments from his business, Black Bear Construction,&#8221; according to court documents. He allegedly sent the funds &#8220;to a phone number provided by the smugglers.&#8221;
Price also sent photos of himself to the mother and &#8220;inquired about&#8221; her daughter&#8217;s &#8220;status,&#8221; court filings said.

At some point in their journey, the mother and her child were separated, according to the Justice Department.
The child&#8217;s mother crossed the border less than a week after her daughter traversed it alone. The woman told federal agents that she befriended Price roughly four years prior when the two worked &#8220;together in the hotel remodeling business,&#8221; according to court documents.
The migrant mother had also worked as Price&#8217;s &#8220;housekeeper and babysat his children,&#8221; she said.
The child&#8217;s mother promised to pay Price back &#8220;by working for him.&#8221;

You can tell a lot about the strength of a particular argument or world view by how long it lasts before reality ends up discrediting it. There are some debates that don&#8217;t need to be settled by consulting with dozens of experts or asking ten different AI models and then comparing notes. Instead, certain events take place, and they resolve the disagreement right away. A catastrophic nuclear meltdown ended any discussion about how effective Chernobyl&#8217;s emergency shutdown mechanism was. An iceberg convinced everyone that, despite all of the marketing hype, the Titanic could in fact sink. There are limits to the ability of liars and charlatans to deceive the population, in other words. Even the most convincing fraudsters face the risk of exposure if their deception is simply too absurd to be compatible with reality. The more absurd the deception is, the faster it falls apart.
By that standard, there are few lies that are more flagrant — and obviously so — than the fiction that gay men should be allowed to adopt children, or to acquire them by paying for a woman to serve as a &#8220;surrogate.&#8221; As we saw recently, a journalist named Glenn Greenwald personally <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/glenn-greenwald-called-me-morally-deranged-then-this-happened">attacked</a> me for holding the position that children should be raised by a mother and a father. He maintained, in a very public and vitriolic fashion, that I was a terrible person for suggesting that gay adoption isn&#8217;t an ideal outcome. He presented himself as infinitely more virtuous than I am because of his decision to acquire young children. And then, within a matter of weeks, Greenwald himself demonstrated through his own conduct — on camera — why my position was correct.
That was back in June. And now, just a month later, it&#8217;s happened again. Reality has caused yet another major problem for the Left&#8217;s narrative about homosexuals who adopt children. Only this time, reality reared its head even faster — as in, within 24 hours. And the implications here are somehow even more disturbing and grotesque than they were with Glenn Greenwald&#8217;s debauchery. This is a story that makes it very clear that laws need to change, and they need to change immediately. And then people need to go to prison.
It all began on Sunday, when an Irish political activist named Derek Blighe discovered some videos that had been posted on a gay couple&#8217;s social media feeds. The videos show the two gay men, both of whom are overweight, marking monthly anniversaries with a child they&#8217;ve obtained. In every video, they blow out a candle on the cupcake. And the videos keep going, as the men seem to somehow get fatter each time. Watch:

In response to these videos, on Sunday, Derek Blighe posted simply, &#8220;Unless a miracle happens, this child has almost no chance at a normal life.&#8221;
And he was right, of course.
At a visceral level, this footage is repulsive. Everyone understands that, whether they&#8217;ll admit it or not. When a child is deprived of his mother and father, it isn&#8217;t something to celebrate. It&#8217;s a tragedy that&#8217;s inflicted on someone who cannot possibly deserve it, and who may never recover from it. And that&#8217;s especially true when, in lieu of a mother and a father, a child is obtained by two men who belong to a demographic whose behavior, in a very disproportionate number of cases, is completely incompatible with raising children, to put things as mildly as possible. It&#8217;s also a demographic that&#8217;s disproportionately interested in adopting male children. And again, everyone understands what&#8217;s going on there, though nobody will say it.

And yet, when Blighe made this simple and straightforward observation, hundreds of thousands of Left-wing activists pretended to be shocked and horrified by what he had written. They also claimed that, in fact, it&#8217;s *better* for the child to be raised by two gay men, than by his own mother and father.
Here&#8217;s <a href="https://x.com/LouiseScot51918/status/1949441171085799511">one representative post</a>, which has more than 6 million views and 220,000 &#8220;likes&#8221; on X:
<blockquote>Makes me happy. That baby is going to be raised not to hate people and will be loved.</blockquote>
Here&#8217;s another post, from someone named &#8220;Bev Jackson&#8221; of a group called &#8220;Alliance LGB.&#8221; This came in response to Derek&#8217;s post expressing disgust at the footage: 
<blockquote>That is homophobic. If the child has two loving male parents, there is no evidence whatsoever that he or she will not prosper.</blockquote>
But Bev Jackson&#8217;s response didn&#8217;t last very long. Just a few hours later, Bev <a href="https://x.com/BevJacksonAuth/status/1949907957203751331">deleted</a> it. And a lot of people like Bev deleted their reactions, too. That&#8217;s because, in record-breaking time, the narrative took an extremely dark turn. The journalists at Reduxx decided to take a closer look at the two gay men in the video with that toddler. <a href="https://reduxx.info/gay-man-who-crowdfunded-surrogacy-journey-with-husband-revealed-as-child-sex-offender/">Here&#8217;s</a> what they found:
<blockquote>A widely circulated video showcasing a gay couple’s &#8216;surrogacy journey&#8217; has revealed that a baby boy is currently in the custody of a registered child sex offender. &#8230; Brandon Keith Mitchell is a Tier 1 sex offender in the state of Pennsylvania, and was arrested in 2016 after attempting to solicit a 16-year-old boy for sexual abuse. The victim in the case was a student at Downingtown West High School, where Mitchell had worked as a chemistry teacher. He was 30 years old at the time.</blockquote>

According to local news reports, Mitchell was, &#8220;charged with texting obscene images and texts to a student, [and] asking for nude images of the underage student.&#8221;
Mitchell taught at this school from 2010 to 2015. And during this period, he reportedly sent more than 12,000 text messages to this student. He ended up pleading guilty to &#8220;felony child pornography possession and one count of Corruption of Minors&#8221; — because police found sexually explicit videos of the child on his personal computer — and was sentenced to nearly two years of incarceration. But he didn&#8217;t serve anywhere near that sentence. Just two months after his conviction, Reduxx reports, he was granted parole. For a crime that should&#8217;ve resulted in life imprisonment, at a minimum, he barely spent any time in jail.
The Reduxx article <a href="https://reduxx.info/gay-man-who-crowdfunded-surrogacy-journey-with-husband-revealed-as-child-sex-offender/">continues</a>:
<blockquote>Part of his conditions included that he have no unsupervised contact with minors and that he surrender his teaching license. He quickly moved on to obtain a job as a chemist at Eurofins BioPharma Product Testing in Lancaster, where he has worked for the past 9 years. &#8230; In 2021, Mitchell married Logan Riley, a second-grade teacher from Maryland, and moved to Seven Valleys, Pennsylvania. In 2023, the two launched a GoFundMe to raise money for a surrogate.</blockquote>
Of course, the GoFundMe didn&#8217;t mention the whole &#8220;convicted sex offender” thing.
In any event, the fundraiser has since been taken down. But it reportedly had a goal of $50,000, and raised just over $2,000, so it wasn&#8217;t exactly a success. Nevertheless, Riley — the husband of the convicted sex offender — reported that, in November of 2023, they had found a surrogate.
<blockquote>Our surrogate went through extensive medical and social worker evaluations in order to be approved for surrogacy. Once approved, the lengthy legal and financial process began. We are so excited that our amazing surrogate will carry one of our embryos for us, helping to expand our family.</blockquote>
It&#8217;s hard to miss the irony here. According to these two gay men, there was an &#8220;extensive&#8221; screening process for their &#8220;surrogate&#8221; — meaning, the woman whose body they were going to rent, so that she would bear a child for them, so that they could pretend to be parents. Social workers, doctors and lawyers were all involved. And yet, evidently, there was no screening process whatsoever for these two gay men. No one in the federal government, or the state of Pennsylvania, saw any problem with creating a new human life, for the sole purposes of handing the child off to a convicted sexual predator. And not just any convicted sexual predator. We&#8217;re talking about a convicted <a href="https://x.com/MrAndyNgo/status/1949915000589443072">sexual predator</a> who specifically preyed on a child.
At first, you might think — well, there must have been some massive, very unfortunate mistake here. Surely, you&#8217;d assume, there must be a thorough vetting process for the parents of children who are born through surrogacy. And somehow, in this particular case, someone must have fallen asleep on the job. Maybe they ran a criminal records check under the wrong name or something like that.
But that&#8217;s not remotely what happened. As it turns out, there is no legal bar in the state of Pennsylvania — or many other states — for convicted sexual predators to obtain children through surrogacy. It&#8217;s completely legal. There are no roadblocks whatsoever.
Again, this is from <a href="https://reduxx.info/gay-man-who-crowdfunded-surrogacy-journey-with-husband-revealed-as-child-sex-offender/">Reduxx</a>:
<blockquote>Reduxx reached out to the division Pennsylvania State Police responsible for maintaining Mitchell’s registration, and was informed that the state does not automatically forbid individuals convicted of sex crimes from having children, gaining custody, or exercising parental rights. While Pennsylvania’s adoption law does prohibit sex offenders from adopting or fostering children, gestational surrogacy circumvents any such laws through pre-birth parentage orders.</blockquote>
You heard that correctly. Individuals who are convicted of sex crimes, including sex crimes involving children — crimes so severe that the guilty party had to agree to have &#8220;no unsupervised contact with minors&#8221; for a certain period of time — are allowed to obtain children in Pennsylvania. The only restriction is that, instead of adopting a child, they have to pay for a woman to give birth to a child. This is a policy that&#8217;s so incomprehensible, and so evil, that it&#8217;s hard to even talk about. And it&#8217;s also a policy that, evidently, a lot of officials in Pennsylvania aren&#8217;t even aware of.
One of Reduxx&#8217;s writers <a href="https://x.com/Slatzism/status/1949926492651024812">posted this</a> on social media, as she was working on this story:
<blockquote>While I was talking to the state police sex offender division, the agent actually stopped for a moment when I mentioned it was a surrogate baby and said, &#8216;But surely … there’s a vetting process for this kind of thing?&#8217;</blockquote>
Well, actually, no. There&#8217;s no vetting process for &#8220;this kind of thing,&#8221; as it turns out.
If someone is a pedophile in the state of Pennsylvania, and they’ve been convicted for &#8220;corrupting minors&#8221; and possessing child pornography, they are still completely free to obtain a child through surrogacy. And not just any child — a newborn with no known relatives, no next of kin to check in on him. And then, once they have this defenseless child in their home, he is entirely at their mercy and helpless, and no one can see what they’re doing, and there is no one who actually knows the child or cares for him. Even his mother isn&#8217;t allowed to speak to him. It&#8217;s almost as if the state went out of its way to create a loophole for pedophiles. There are no words for how dark this is.
And by the way, this is one of the many fundamental, fatal problems with relying on &#8220;statistics&#8221; and &#8220;experts&#8221; who tell you that gay adoption is completely fine and appropriate. Every single mainstream expert will tell you that gay men are just as capable as straight couples to raise children, if not more so. They&#8217;ll tell you to suspend all of your intuitions and common sense, and they&#8217;ll call you a bigot if you disagree. But the truth is, none of these experts actually knows what goes on inside these households where men are raising children that aren&#8217;t theirs.
None of the statistics can capture the reality of what&#8217;s happening, because only the parents who are caught abusing their children will actually be reflected in those statistics.
That&#8217;s why we have intuition and basic morality. And it&#8217;s why we should always pay close attention whenever activists on the other side, in a demonic kind of rage, attempt to claim the moral high ground — only for it to crumble immediately in a matter of days (or hours, in this case). There are some lies that are simply too evil and unsustainable to survive contact with reality. The fiction that gay men are appropriate foster parents for other people&#8217;s children is one of them. In recent months, we&#8217;ve repeatedly seen <a href="https://people.com/ga-couple-adopted-young-boys-filmed-sexual-abuse-house-of-horrors-8766348">glimpses</a> into the horrors that many of these children are enduring behind closed doors. The recent case of William and Zachary Zulock in Georgia is an example of two men who were sexually abusing their two adopted children. They probably would never have been caught, if they hadn&#8217;t bragged about their behavior to others.
Especially in light of stories like this, it shouldn&#8217;t be remotely controversial to say that the safety of children is infinitely more important than any gay man&#8217;s desire to become a parent. Nature has already decided that gay couples will be childless by definition. The law should follow suit. Starting with the state of Pennsylvania — which should immediately change its law and remove this particular child from this household — this very straightforward principle needs to become law. Any society that doesn&#8217;t protect its own children does not deserve to exist. Under the guise of helping children, a system has been created that allows for children to be abused in the most horrific ways imaginable. That system must be dismantled. The abusers should go to prison for the rest of their lives. And no child, no matter the circumstances, should ever be forcibly prevented from having a mother and a father ever again in this country.

This week, the Oklahoma House passed a bill requiring registered child sex offenders to be “chemically castrated” in order to be released on parole.
<a href="https://www.oklegislature.gov/cf_pdf/2025-26%20ENGR/hB/HB2422%20ENGR.PDF" target="_blank" rel="noopener">House Bill 2422</a> states that a sex offender must be someone who is over the age of 21 and who has committed a crime involving physical touch against a child under the age of 13 that requires registration as a sex offender. If a mental health evaluation determines that the sex offender would commit a sex crime again, the offender is offered the possibility of hormonal treatment in order to gain parole, which must be accepted voluntarily.
“Reoffending, ending treatment or seeking reversal of the treatment, which &#8216;use chemicals or drugs to stop sex hormone production,&#8217; would result in returning to prison for life without the possibility of parole,” Oklahoma Voice <a href="https://oklahomavoice.com/2025/03/10/bill-seeking-to-chemically-castrate-child-sex-offenders-advances-to-oklahoma-senate/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
“I mean, if I’m just brutally honest with you, this is the third freaking year I’ve run this bill in some form or fashion, trying to fix these problems, to keep our kids safe,” GOP Rep. Scott Fetgatter, who authored the bill, stated.
&#8220;For whatever reason, this legislative body in the Senate over here, they’ve killed the bill all three years. So I’m trying to get something with some traction going forward so that we can fix this issue and keep our kids safe. Because what happens daily all across the state is unacceptable. And if it were up to me, I’d take them down on the town square in Okmulgee, and you know what I might do with a pair of snips.”
“So to be clear, I’m not allowing anybody to go on parole. Okay?” Fetgatter said. “Because they currently could become eligible for parole as a part of their sentencing, what I’m saying is you can’t get out on parole unless you are mentally evaluated and chemically castrated. You’re not even eligible to be paroled.”
The bill now goes to the Oklahoma Senate for a vote.

The Chicago Tribune editorial board viciously <a href="https://www.chicagotribune.com/2025/01/27/editorial-doctor-phil-deportation-ice/?lctg=B4845491D5F64499A4E4B513EB&amp;utm_email=B4845491D5F64499A4E4B513EB&amp;utm_source=listrak&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_term=https%3a%2f%2fwww.chicagotribune.com%2f2025%2f01%2f27%2feditorial-doctor-phil-deportation-ice%2f&amp;utm_campaign=trib-chicago_tribune-dont_miss-nl&amp;utm_content=alert" target="_blank" rel="noopener">attacked</a> television’s Dr. Phil McGraw for appearing at the scene as ICE arrested an illegal immigrant who was a convicted sex offender and “internet predator,” according to <span class="c5aZPb" tabindex="0" role="button" data-enable-toggle-animation="true" data-extra-container-classes="ZLo7Eb" data-hover-hide-delay="1000" data-hover-open-delay="500" data-send-open-event="true" data-theme="0" data-width="250" data-ved="2ahUKEwj_3dyy9JiLAxWFnokEHbcTHjAQmpgGegQIGxAD">U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). In an editorial Monday, the once reliably conservative newspaper for over 100 years — until it took a swing to the Left, refusing to endorse a GOP presidential candidate since 2004 — went so far as to liken McGraw to the Taliban.
McGraw <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/01/27/us-news/tv-host-dr-phil-films-as-ice-targets-migrants-in-chicago/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">embedded</a> with U.S. immigration officers during deportation raids and interviewed Sam Seda, a Thai national whom border czar Tom Homan stated was “an illegal alien convicted of sex crimes involving children.” “He’s walking the streets of Chicago,” Homan added.
McGraw asked Seda if he’d “been charged with sex crimes involving children,” as Homan had stated, prompting Seda to answer, “Not really.”
“Here in America, we don’t have show trials nor do we ritualistically lambaste such people in service of political power or television ratings,” the Tribune editorial board huffed. “Unlike some nations, we don’t hang, beat or interrogate people in the public square, either.”
Then the Tribune vilified McGraw, saying, “We were astonished to see Phil McGraw, a man who uses a sobriquet that includes the word ‘doctor,’ embedding himself with ICE, a questionable move in and of itself for a person who has claimed to heal, and then literally shining a spotlight on a Thai national who was rounded up by ICE on Sunday in Chicago.&#8221;
The Tribune wrote dramatically, “Dr. Phil’s quarry told him he recognized him from TV and then took part, consciously or not, in his own ritual humiliation for a hungry TV audience.”
After acknowledging that the man &#8220;reportedly was a convicted sex offender and internet predator, and we want him gone,” the Tribune took a swipe at the Trump administration, writing, “We understand the propaganda value, too, for a Trump administration that wants to confirm the president’s point that there are bad people in this city and state without legal authorization.”
“There was something profoundly unsettling about a man who found fame and a huge fortune in our city on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show,’ a man who made his bones by offering advice to often vulnerable guests as a psychotherapist would, someone who set himself up as an avuncular healer, telling people how to nurture their relationship with their spouse or cope after a relationship has fallen apart,” the Tribune complained.
Not yet done attacking the Trump administration, the Tribune snapped, “We get why Donald Trump’s Department of Justice wants him there: It implies that such people won’t just be removed; they’ll be humiliated at the same time.”
Incredibly, the Tribune then compared Dr. Phil to the Taliban, writing, “Given the abhorrent nature of the Thai national’s crimes, it’s easy to say that’s all fine. Take all the licks you want, Dr. Phil But it’s not. The Taliban do not roam the streets of Chicago, and their modus operandi should not be applied here.”

A male convicted sex offender in Oregon was arrested on Friday after he pretended to be a 15-year-old girl to try to enroll in a high school, police said.
Twenty-seven-year-old Makayla Craig &#8212; also known as Alec Ray Craig &#8212; is accused of computer crimes, forgery in the second-degree, and false swearing, the Albany Police Department said in a statement.
&#8220;Employees of Families and Communities Together (F.A.C.T) contacted School Resource Officer Williams with concerns about a person registering for high school,&#8221; a <a href="https://www.facebook.com/albanypd/posts/pfbid02hPVPPopfwZBVHsfm2NkTKf2p33SCbKSmhNEK2pPQPJktUWkzhCdMEidci6DmYRTgl">Facebook post</a> from the department said. &#8220;The person appeared to be an adult but was portraying themselves as a 15-year-old girl. After further investigation, the individual gave a false name and date of birth attempting to enroll in high school.&#8221;
&#8220;The subject was identified as 27-year-old, Makayla Craig, a registered sex offender and subsequently arrested,&#8221; the post reads.
Craig was convicted of sex abuse in 2023, FOX 12 reports, but additional information is not available.
The department also disclosed that, per a state mandate, &#8220;homeless youth&#8221; can &#8220;initially register for school without verifiable identification.&#8221;
&#8220;However, prior to the youth actually attending school, there are safeguards in place to confirm identity,&#8221; the post said. &#8220;We want to thank F.A.C.T. and Greater Albany Public School administrators for promptly alerting us to the suspicious circumstances and working cooperatively with Albany Police Department.&#8221;
The post has been inundated with residents asking for more information about the suspect, viewing him as a threat to children in the area. For example, one person wrote, &#8220;This announcement is useless without a name and a face. Not letting the community actually be able to see the creeps doing this type of stuff just allows them to continue to fly under the radar and keep doing sick stuff.&#8221;
&#8220;The people deserve to know who this person was!&#8221; another comment said. &#8220;Especially since they’ve already been released!!&#8221;
Others demanded to see a mugshot. &#8220;We need to see a photo !!!!&#8221; one person wrote.
The police department has now disabled comments on the post, writing, &#8220;Comments will be turned off because of hate speech.&#8221;
The only name listed on the Facebook post from the police department is &#8220;Makayla Craig.&#8221; The name does not match that of anyone in custody. The Daily Wire reached out to the department asking if Craig was booked under a different name and why they were not listed on an intake report.

&#8220;In short, Makayla Craig was taken into custody and lodged at the Linn County Jail,&#8221; the department responded. &#8220;Makayla Craig is no longer in custody at the Linn County Jail, and is probably the reason the system you are looking at doesn&#8217;t show any information.&#8221;
The Daily Wire was told to contact the Oregon State Police Sex Offender Unit for more information. We have yet to receive a response from the Unit.
In a <a href="https://www.kptv.com/2024/12/19/27-year-old-sex-offender-arrested-after-attempting-enroll-albany-high-school/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a> sent to FOX 12, Greater Albany Public Schools praised F.A.C.T. for its actions to stop Craig.
“I want to start by saying we are very proud of our Families and Communities Together (F.A.C.T.) employee for being thorough and trusting their instinct in this situation,&#8221; the statement said. &#8220;Thanks to them, the individual was identified and prevented from enrolling, thanks to the employee’s attentiveness and trust in their instincts. When the information provided in the application raised concerns, the employee contacted GAPS partners to verify the details. This collaboration led to identifying the individual as a 27-year-old registered sex offender and alerting law enforcement.&#8221;
&#8220;To clarify, the individual is not known to Greater Albany Public Schools,&#8221; the statement continued. &#8220;This situation highlights the importance of our thorough application review process. We will continue to evaluate each application carefully and, when something feels off, take the necessary steps to investigate further before moving on.&#8221;

Every state makes it a crime to intentionally injure someone — like shooting or stabbing them without justification.
That’s why it has long been a crime in most states to intentionally infect someone with a disease — including a sexually transmitted disease (STD). After all, the consequences of an STD can be just as long lasting and deadly as if the perpetrator shot or stabbed the victim.
But apparently the Biden administration disagrees. Led by radical Assistant Attorney General <a href="https://www.dailysignal.com/2021/06/28/the-justice-departments-lawsuit-against-georgia-is-completely-partisan/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kristen Clarke</a>, the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division is suing Tennessee for attempting to enforce a statute that is designed to protect the public from HIV-positive prostitutes.
According to Clarke and her cronies, Tennessee’s attempt to protect is citizens is actually thinly veiled <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/justice-department-sues-tennessee-enforcing-state-law-discriminates-against-people-hiv" target="_blank" rel="noopener">discrimination</a> that violates the Americans with Disabilities Act.
In addition to Clarke, the zealots who filed this lawsuit against Tennessee include Disability Rights Section Chief Rebecca Bond, Deputy Chief Kevin Kijewski, Trial Attorney Stephanie Berger, and Trial Attorney Ali Szemanski. A brief look through their resumes — even those of the lower-ranking trial attorneys — shows that they have worked for various organizations that support the far-Left’s pet projects.
For example, <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/stephanie-berger-914b448" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Berger</a> previously spent several years working for the Empire State Pride Agenda, which disbanded after then-New York Governor Andrew Cuomo signed an executive order protecting transgender rights. And <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/ali-szemanski-7b448042" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Szemanski</a> previously worked or interned for the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights of Boston, the ACLU of Pennsylvania, the Charles Hamilton Houston Institute for Race &amp; Justice, and the MacArthur Justice Center.
These connections to the radical Left shouldn’t come as a surprise. The politicized and Left-leaning hiring practices within the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division have been a <a href="https://oig.justice.gov/reports/2013/s1303.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">long-standing problem</a>. Only a full embrace of the far-Left’s worldview can explain the filing of this otherwise inexplicable lawsuit.
Passed in 1991 at the height of the AIDS epidemic, Tennessee’s <a href="https://www.tn.gov/content/dam/tn/health/program-areas/39-13-516.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">aggravated prostitution statute</a> provides that a “person commits aggravated prostitution when, knowing that such person is infected with HIV, the person engages in sexual activity as a business or is an inmate in a house of prostitution or loiters in a public place for the purpose of being hired to engage in sexual activity.” In other words, if a person knows he or she has HIV and engages in prostitution (itself a crime), then that person faces harsher penalties.
According to the Biden Justice Department, however, this is discrimination because it unfairly treats individuals differently based solely on their HIV-positive status and “does not require prosecuting entities to make any individualized determinations in order to achieve a conviction.”
But think that through: It’s not discrimination to prosecute an alcoholic for driving while under the influence. And it’s not discrimination to prosecute a drug addict for possessing or selling drugs. Tennessee isn’t prosecuting and punishing people based on their status but instead is prosecuting and punishing them based on their conduct and the risk of harm that conduct poses to the community. It’s why most states prosecute armed robbery more harshly than unarmed robbery — lawmakers view the former as posing a greater risk, and being more harmful, to the community. The same is true here.
Of course, the Justice Department doesn’t have a sound legal argument against this. They simply allege that since “the passage of Tennessee’s aggravated prostitution statute, there has been significant progress in the understanding of and treatment of HIV.” According to them, “beliefs and assumptions that individuals with HIV will spread it, or that having HIV is a death sentence, are now outdated and unfounded.”
That may well be true, but as that same filing readily admits, that largely depends on following proper protocols for medication and treatment. Furthermore, Tennessee isn’t targeting the HIV population at large — only those who know they are infected and are engaging in the crime of prostitution where the transmission risk is likely much higher than in other settings.

Why shouldn&#8217;t Tennessee be able to punish criminal conduct with aggravating circumstances such as these more severely? After all, no one is seriously contending that engaging in prostitution while being HIV-positive is less dangerous and less harmful than doing so without.
The Justice Department filing identifies “Complainant A” as one of the “victims” of Tennessee’s supposedly discriminatory law. According to the Justice Department, “Complainant A is a Black transgender woman who lives in Memphis, Tennessee.” This individual had HIV, knew it, and engaged in “prostitution near a church or school.” Tennessee charged this individual with aggravated prostitution, which of course comes with the subsequent sex-offender registration requirements and other collateral consequences.
Because Tennessee simply enforced the law, the Justice Department now says the state discriminated against this individual. In fact, they’re asking the court to prohibit any further enforcement of Tennessee’s aggravated prostitution statute, remove individuals from the sex-offender registry who have been convicted of aggravated prostitution, terminate reporting requirements for individuals on the sex-offender registry who have been convicted of aggravated prostitution, expunge their records, and provide compensatory damages (money!) to Complainant A and others the Justice Department has deemed harmed.
With all the problems facing the Biden administration this year, their dedication to extorting everyday Americans to advance a radical social agenda is astounding. Americans deserve, and should expect, more from a department supposedly dedicated to seeking justice. Enough is enough.

Rowling went on to say that the defense of such predators — trans-identifying males who demand to be housed in women&#8217;s prisons despite records that show them to be a danger to women — was a concerted effort to prevent the breakdown of the defenses offered when trans-identifying men demand access to other women&#8217;s spaces.
&#8220;Such activists can&#8217;t bring themselves to concede that a man who was convicted of harming women/girls ought not to be incarcerated with the demographic to whom he is a proven danger, because if they do, all their stock arguments (&#8216;no sexual predator would bother to pretend to be trans&#8217;, &#8216;no trans woman has ever harmed a woman in a women&#8217;s only space&#8217;, &#8216;there is no danger in making all single sex spaces unisex&#8217;) are exposed as the lies they are,&#8221; she said.
&#8220;If they admit that even a single man isn&#8217;t a woman because he says he is, the entire edifice of gender identity ideology crumbles,&#8221; Rowling continued, noting that once that &#8220;edifice&#8221; begins to crumble, the activists are left with little recourse beyond simply screaming that any detractor must be transphobic.
&#8220;This leaves activists who rely on bullying and slogans with nowhere to go but &#8216;you hate all trans people&#8217;, &#8216;so you&#8217;re saying all trans people are rapists&#8217; and, of course, &#8216;you are causing a trans genocide.&#8217; I think this particular issue also causes conniptions because it threatens the activists&#8217; self image,&#8221; she explained. &#8220;These are people who preen themselves on their kindness and virtue, so acknowledging the truth — that they&#8217;re indifferent to vulnerable women being assaulted or traumatised — threatens the idea they have of themselves.&#8221;

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/charlotte" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Charlotte</a> Pride now says no one will be awarded the 2023 Harvey Milk award for exceptional “LGBT+” advocacy after the announced winner&#8217;s past as a convicted child sex offender came to light.
“We do not give every single award out every year. Charlotte Pride was originally going to do Harvey Milk, but upon further discussion, decided not to give out that award this year,” the leading Charlotte, North Carolina, LGBT organization <a href="https://www.wsoctv.com/news/local/charlotte-pride-removes-2023-harvey-milk-award-recipient-website/FEKOU3KJMNCKVMCWZNVM4LXVEM/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> local outlet WSOC on Friday.
The group did not detail what led to the decision not to give out the Harvey Milk Award after all.
Chad Sevearance-Turner, a former music minister who <a href="https://sexoffender.ncsbi.gov/details.aspx?SRN=008345S1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">served years</a> in prison for sexually abusing a minor boy, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/charlotte-pride-lists-child-sex-offender-as-lgbtq-award-recipient" target="_blank" rel="noopener">was originally slated</a> to receive the award this year.
Charlotte Pride had <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20230805194403/https://charlottepride.org/champions/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">praised</a> him as an “influential advocate for LGBT+ issues,” Reduxx first <a href="https://reduxx.info/north-carolina-charlotte-pride-awards-child-sex-offender-with-2023-harvey-milk-award/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
Sevearance-Turner, 45, is president and chief executive officer <a href="https://www.clgbtcc.org/our-staff/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">at the</a> Carolinas LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce, a nonprofit that “supports LGBT+ and allied businesses” in North and South Carolina.
He was <a href="https://www.goupstate.com/story/news/1998/09/26/music-director-charged-fondling-teens-kidnapper-sentenced-assault-masked-gunman-li39l-food-store/29604171007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">accused</a> by three minor boys of sexual abuse in 1998 when he was 20, all three of whom he met through his position as music director for New Harvest Church of God in Gaffney, South Carolina, <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20160313221333/http://www.goupstate.com/article/20000720/NEWS/7200320?p=2&amp;tc=pg&amp;tc=ar" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to a 2000 report from GoUpstate.com.
The three boys’ accusations were tried in three separate cases.

The first case involved a 14-year-old boy who testified that he spent the night with Sevearance-Turner at one of the other victims’ houses and awoke to Sevearance-Turner fondling his genitals. The boy also testified that Sevearance-Turner invited him to spend the night at his house, and when he did, Sevearance-Turner asked him how he would feel about a man performing oral sex on him.
“I thought he was joking,” the boy told the court at the time.
The child said Sevearance-Turner’s questions about sexual acts were upsetting because of his position in the church.
The second boy, who was 15 at the time of the alleged incident, testified that Sevearance-Turner invited him to his house and showed him a pornographic video of sex between a man and woman. The boy went to sleep in the same bed as Sevearance-Turner and awoke to Sevearance-Turner fondling him, the child said.
“He told me if I ever told the pastor, he’d make me look like a fool and a liar,” the boy said.
The third boy, who was also 15 when he said the incident happened, said Sevearance-Turner made the same advances to him when he stayed at the boy’s home for three weeks and fondled him multiple times.
Sevearance-Turner’s defense attorney Thomas Shealy accused the boys at the time of a “Salem witch hunt” against their alleged abuser.
Sevearance-Turner was eventually convicted in 2000 of performing a lewd act on a minor under 16 and <a href="https://sexoffender.ncsbi.gov/details.aspx?SRN=008345S1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sentenced</a> to ten years in prison. He served just two years before being released on parole.
He is currently <a href="https://sexoffender.ncsbi.gov/details.aspx?SRN=008345S1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">listed</a> on the North Carolina sex offender registry.
Charlotte Pride quickly scrubbed Sevearance-Turner&#8217;s name from its website page listing this year&#8217;s &#8220;Champions of Pride&#8221; award winners after his child sex offense conviction came to light.
However, an archived version of the page <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20230805194403/https://charlottepride.org/champions/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">shows</a> him listed.
This is not the first time Sevearance-Turner’s child sex offender status has been unearthed while in a position of influence.
In 2016, Sevearance-Turner <a href="https://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/politics-government/article64943682.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">resigned</a> as president of Charlotte’s LGBT Chamber of Commerce after his child sex offender conviction became known. He <a href="https://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/politics-government/article64943682.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> at the time that his past had not stopped him from being successful.
At the time, Sevearance-Turner <a href="https://www.wcnc.com/article/news/politics/charlotte-lgbt-chamber-head-steps-down/275-75015312" target="_blank" rel="noopener">was at the forefront</a> of a push for North Carolina to allow trans-identifying men to use women’s bathrooms.

Singer <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/nicki-minaj" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nicki Minaj’s</a> neighbors aren’t thrilled about her husband Kevin Petty, who is a convicted <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sex-offender" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sex offender</a>, living in their midst.
The 40-year-old <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities" target="_blank" rel="noopener">rapper</a>, whose real name is Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty, currently resides in a $19.5 million estate in the upscale Hidden Hills neighborhood in the western part of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/los-angeles" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Los Angeles</a> County. 
Minaj’s husband registered his new address with the Megan’s Law website as he was required to do. That&#8217;s when neighbors took notice and started circulating a petition called “SAY NO TO SEX OFFENDERS IN HIDDEN HILLS,” per <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2023/06/23/nicki-minaj-neighbors-want-her-gone-concerns-husband-kenneth-petty-hidden-hills-petition/">TMZ</a>. 
The petition by resident Beverly Bardan started soon after Petty moved there in December 2022, but it is gaining steam and earned more than 100 signatures in the third week of June, the outlet noted. As of June 23, it had 912 signatures with a goal of 1,000.
“The Petty couple moving in would lead to appraisal value of our homes to go DOWN due to safety concerns. It would lead to children and women being a target,” the change.org <a href="https://www.change.org/p/say-no-to-sex-offenders-in-hidden-hills" target="_blank" rel="noopener">petition</a> says in part. “DO NOT allow this dangerous sex offender to live near you, SHOW that you are against sex offenders in our Hidden Hills neighborhood!”
The backlash stems from an alleged <a href="https://www.okayplayer.com/news/what-to-know-about-the-sexual-assault-case-against-nicki-minajs-husband-kenneth-petty.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">incident</a> which happened between Petty and Jennifer Hough. Then 16-year-old Hough said Petty, then 15, came up behind her while she was walking to school, then forced her back into his house and raped her at knifepoint. Hough said she went to school and then went home and immediately reported the alleged crime to her adoptive mother. 
Petty denied the allegations and said the two were dating at the time. 
Petty was later convicted of attempted rape in the first degree, assault in the second degree, unlawful imprisonment in the second degree, and criminal possession of a weapon. He was sentenced to 18-to-54 months in prison, serving almost four years before being released in January 1999.

A Texas man was arrested after he allegedly took pictures of women underneath a stall in a mall bathroom while reportedly dressed as a woman and brandished a pepper ball gun when confronted.
Douglas Egan, 45, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and improper photography.
On Christmas Eve around 4:30 p.m., a woman said she noticed a cellphone underneath the stall in the bathroom at Hulen Mall in Fort Worth, <a href="https://lawandcrime.com/crime/sex-offender-in-disguise-secretly-took-pictures-in-womens-restroom-and-pulled-pepper-ball-gun-on-witness-cops/">according</a> to police.
The woman exited the stall and confronted the suspect, &#8220;a male that was dressed to look like a female,&#8221; who attempted to flee, police said.
A male attempted to intervene and stop the suspect from leaving the premises. The suspect allegedly reached into his backpack and pulled out what looked like a handgun and pointed it at the male. Police later ascertained that the weapon was a pepper ball gun.
Some witnesses said they saw the suspect change out of the women&#8217;s clothes he was wearing and into men&#8217;s clothes after he left the mall.
“The suspect then left the mall, but was being observed by several witnesses,” officers said. “These witnesses saw the suspect changing his clothes and also observed what appeared to be a handgun in the back waistband of the suspect’s pants.”
Police were called and arrested Egan at a nearby apartment complex.
He is currently being held on a combined $30,000 bond at the Lon Evans Corrections Center. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 3.
Egan is a previously convicted sex offender <a href="https://publicsite.dps.texas.gov/SexOffenderRegistry/Search/Rapsheet?Sid=06129533">classified</a> as &#8220;high risk&#8221;in the Texas Department of Public Safety, which means he is considered a danger to the community and expected to reoffend and commit more sex crimes in the future.
He is registered for life as a sex offender for multiple incidents, including indecent exposure to a 16-year-old girl in 2015 and two other indecent exposure incidents to female victims in 2010 and 2011. He was incarcerated for seven years for his offense involving the teen girl, and 60 days and 120 days for the two other offenses.
In recent years, controversy has erupted over the issue of biological men who identify as transgender using women&#8217;s bathrooms. Critics have expressed concerns about men taking advantage of access to women&#8217;s restrooms in order to victimize women sexually, physically, or both.
In October, a transgender high school student allegedly <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/transgender-student-charged-for-alleged-violent-assault-of-two-girls-in-school-bathroom">assaulted</a> two female students in the girls bathroom at an Oklahoma high school, leaving them with injuries. The transgender student has been charged.
Earlier this month, a transgender man, 52, was <a href="https://www.lamag.com/citythinkblog/exclusive-transgender-fugitive-who-spurred-wi-spa-riots-bares-all/">arrested</a> after 15 months on the run for allegedly exposing his penis to a locker room full of women at Wii Spa in Los Angeles. He has been charged with five felony counts of indecent exposure and sits in a male inmate jail on $350,000 bail.

A <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/wisconsin">Wisconsin</a> court ruled Thursday that a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/transgender">transgender</a> sex offender could not legally get a name change because it is illegal for sex offenders to change their names. 
In a 4-3 decision, the Wisconsin Supreme Court said that Ella, a 22-year-old 6’5’’ biological man who identifies as a woman, could not get a name change due to Ella’s status on the state’s sex offender registry.  
The sex offender was only referred to as &#8220;Ella&#8221; in court documents. The original legal name was not available because the incident involved juveniles. 
Court documents showed that a 15-year-old Ella was convicted of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old autistic boy who was blind in one eye. This led to Ella’s placement on the sex offender list. Ella, who was over 200 pounds heavier than the victim, also bullied the victim on Facebook after the assault.
The teenage boy experienced further “victimization and traumatization” due to Ella’s additional bullying, court documents demonstrated, <a href="https://apnews.com/article/health-wisconsin-supreme-court-government-and-politics-b5e9293fc502cb9679d7436247fc7bae">according to the Associated Press</a>. 
Ella’s lawyers claimed that the name change denial constituted “cruel and unusual punishment” and that it was a violation of the First Amendment’s protection of free speech. The court’s four conservative leaning justices, however, were unpersuaded.
“Consistent with well established precedent, we hold Ella’s placement on the sex offender registry is not a ‘punishment’ under the Eighth Amendment,” Justice Rebecca Bradley said in her majority decision.  
“Even if it were, sex offender registration is neither cruel nor unusual. We further hold Ella’s right to free speech does not encompass the power to compel the State to facilitate a change of her legal name,” she added. 
Wisconsin Supreme Court Chief Justice Annette Ziegler and Justice Patience Roggensack signed on to Bradley’s decision. 
Justice Brian Hagedorn wrote a separate concurrence referring to the sex offender as &#8220;C.G&#8221;  because he disagreed with the other justices decision to use female pronouns for the plaintiff. 
Justice Ann Walsh Bradley wrote the dissent, saying that the name change denial would “expose” Ella to “discrimination and abuse.”
“Requiring Ella to maintain a name that is inconsistent with her gender identity and forcing her to out herself every time she presents official documents exposes her to discrimination and abuse,” she wrote. 
She was joined by Justice Rebecca Dallett and Justice Jill Karofsky. 
Justice Rebecca Bradley, though, said the decision did not prevent Ella from living as a transgender person. 
“For example, nothing prohibits her from dressing in women’s clothing, wearing make-up, growing out her hair, or using a feminine alias,”she said. “The State has not branded Ella with her legal name, and when Ella presents a government-issued identification card, she is free to say nothing at all or to say, ‘I go by Ella.’”

Authorities in Tennessee arrested a registered sex offender last week after he admitted to filming a mother and her 2-year-old daughter in a restaurant bathroom outside of Nashville.
James Josey III, 31, admitted to police that he entered a women’s restroom at a Whataburger in Hermitage, Tennessee, last month and filmed a woman and her child. The woman saw him filming in a gap in the bathroom stall and yelled at him, causing him to flee the restaurant.
An employee recognized him and identified him to police. Officials later released a <a href="https://www.nashville.gov/departments/police/news/parolee-and-registered-sex-offender-arrested-being-peeping-tom-womens">statement</a> explaining the incident:
<blockquote>Youth Services detectives today charged parolee and registered sex offender James B. Josey III, 31, with invasion of privacy/peeping tom for hiding in a stall of the women’s restroom at the Hermitage Whataburger restaurant and using his cell phone to video persons in the adjacent stall.
A woman who had taken her two-year-old child into the restroom on March 27 noticed a phone pressed against the open gap between the two stalls. The mother yelled at the individual, causing a man (Josey) to quickly flee from the stall and the restaurant. A Whataburger staff member followed Josey and recognized him as a former employee.
During an interview with Youth Services detectives today, Josey admitted to videoing in women’s restrooms for sexual gratification.
The charge against Josey is a felony. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $2,500.
Josey is a registered sex offender out of Knoxville, where he committed similar invasion of privacy offenses. The State of Tennessee is expected to file a parole violation warrant against Josey.</blockquote>
Police arrested another man last week for allegedly sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl. Authorities say the man grabbed the girl’s buttocks in a Kroger in Hermitage. The suspect, 38-year-old Reuben Thornhill, claimed that he just bumped into the girl. The city of Nashville said in a <a href="https://www.nashville.gov/departments/police/news/man-charged-aggravated-sexual-battery-grabbing-buttocks-11-year-old-girl">press release</a>:
<blockquote>Youth Services detectives this afternoon charged Reuben Thornhill, 38, with aggravated sexual battery for grabbing the buttocks of an 11-year-old girl inside the Hermitage Kroger on March 12. The victim stepped away from Thornhill who, she said, then offered her money. Thornhill fled, but was subsequently identified.
During an interview with Detectives Chris Beery and Melissa Flores, Thornhill claimed that he accidentally bumped into the girl. Store security video clearly shows to the contrary.
A judicial commissioner set Thornhill’s bond at $75,000.</blockquote>
At an unrelated incident in Virginia last month, a school board in Alexandria, Virginia, allegedly kept hidden from parents an assault that left one student hospitalized. As <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/virginia-school-district-knew-about-alleged-sexual-assault-that-left-victim-in-hospital-they-didnt-tell-districts-parents-report">The Daily Wire</a> reported:
<blockquote>According to a new report, the Alexandria, Virginia, school district and school board did not inform parents in the school district regarding a reported violent sexual assault that left the victim in the hospital.
“Alexandria police have now directly confirmed to Independent Women’s Forum via email that the police arrested a 14-year-old suspect in early December for ‘aggravated sexua[l] battery, rape, and forcible sodomy’ in connection with the October incident at Minnie Howard campus,” Inez Stepman of <a href="https://www.nationalreview.com/2022/03/virginia-school-covered-up-sexual-assault-that-left-victim-hospitalized/">National Review</a> reported on Friday, adding that a series of emails were sent vis-à-vis the incident between school-board members, the superintendent, the mayor, and Alexandria police. “Parents, however, were largely left in the dark,” National Review noted.</blockquote>
