Senator Raphael Warnock (D-GA) compared former President Donald Trump&#8217;s supporters — particularly evangelical Christians — to segregationists and slavery advocates during a recent interview, suggesting that they must be answering to a different God.
Warnock joined host David Remnick for a lengthy conversation that aired over the weekend on &#8220;<a href="https://www.newyorker.com/podcast/the-new-yorker-radio-hour/senator-raphael-warnock-on-americas-moral-and-spiritual-battle" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The New Yorker Radio Hour</a>,&#8221; and Warnock insisted that the political fight against Trump was also a &#8220;moral and spiritual&#8221; battle.
It was Remnick who raised the question about pro-Trump evangelicals and what he called a &#8220;movement&#8221; among them to call for becoming a &#8220;Christian Nation with laws instituting Christian principles.&#8221;
&#8220;The enormous number of people of earnest faith, who look at someone who lives the way he does, who’s now been convicted of multiple felonies, how do you analyze that?&#8221; Remnick asked.
Warnock responded by suggesting that evangelical Trump supporters were no different from the Christians who had at one time supported either slavery or segregation.

&#8220;Well, there were a number of Christians, a whole lot of Christians, who were pro-slavery. And, there are a whole lot of Christians who were pro-segregation,&#8221; Warnock explained, adding, &#8220;There’s a recurring line by Martin Luther King Jr in his letter from the Birmingham jail. He says it a few times, and in his speeches — he says, &#8216;I am so disappointed in the American church. What kind of people worship there? Who really is their God?&#8217; That’s the question for this moment. &#8216;Who really is their God?&#8217; Particularly when we’ve been told by a lot of folks on the far right for years that their focus is family values.&#8221;
Warnock went on to attack evangelicals for their position on &#8220;matters of private morality,&#8221; such as sex and gender issues.
&#8220;And those same people now are lined up behind Donald Trump,&#8221; Warnock kept hammering the point. &#8220;A man who has, had several marriages who found himself caught up in the crosshairs of, his decision to having an affair with a porn star, and these same folks who raised these issues around family values and private morality are the ones who are speaking as if he is the Messiah of God. I think the question that Doctor King asked all those years ago is especially relevant at this moment: &#8216;Who really is their God?'&#8221;

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas hosted five “affinity” graduation events earlier this month, Campus Reform <a href="https://www.campusreform.org/article/university-of-nevada-hosts-multiple-segregated-graduations-/25519" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>, including celebrations for Asian and Pacific American, “Latinx,” Native American, African American, and LGBT students.
&#8220;Please join us for our Affinity Graduations sponsored by Student Diversity Programs; which include APMIE, Latinx, Lavender, and Native Convocation,” the school <a href="https://involvementcenter.unlv.edu/event/10083881" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a>, adding that participating students would “be provided a stole to wear at commencement as a part of the ceremony.”
The university system’s Reno campus offered similar graduation celebrations, Campus Reform reported.
“By recognizing and honoring different cultural traditions and themes, the celebrations create spaces where students can feel proud of their heritage and share it with others. These celebrations help foster a sense of belonging and inclusivity for students of diverse backgrounds,” student supervisor Emily Thao-Singh in <a href="https://www.unr.edu/nevada-today/news/2024/affinity-graduate-celebrations" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a campus statement</a>.
The affinity celebrations were scheduled to take place ahead of the university’s official spring commencement ceremonies.
In April, “Dirty Jobs” Host Mike Rowe <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/mike-rowe-slams-harvards-segregation-celebrations" target="_blank" rel="noopener">blasted</a> Harvard University’s use of affinity celebrations, asking, “What better way to celebrate Harvard’s rich commitment to diversity, [than] by encouraging diverse groups to celebrate separately?”
“These [affinity] celebrations allow students to separate themselves from each other based on their racial and ethnic identities, and then, celebrate graduation with their own kind,” Rowe wrote <a href="https://www.facebook.com/100044228419568/posts/pfbid037e5bvraYn8FoWhoUWawHFMkfgQT669HJnDKrhHkK8XxoJaHtCHR22ofu63EmqVaUl/?mibextid=cr9u03" target="_blank" rel="noopener">on Facebook</a>.
“I’m old enough to remember when this was called ‘segregation,&#8217;” he added. “At Harvard, they call it ‘affinity.’ To be fair, Harvard’s website says these celebrations are not in lieu of the official graduation, and open to all students who pre-register. But the celebrations themselves are clearly labeled, and the invitees are hard to misconstrue.”
Other schools have offered similar ceremonies for years. In 2021, The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/columbia-to-host-six-graduation-ceremonies-divided-by-sex-race-income" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that Columbia University would host six separate graduation ceremonies segregated by student race, sex, and income. Days later, Columbia <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/columbia-university-reverses-course-sort-of-on-segregated-graduation-ceremonies-now-calls-them-celebrations" target="_blank" rel="noopener">clarified</a> that the segregated events were not graduation ceremonies, but celebrations.
The College Fix <a href="https://www.thecollegefix.com/after-backlash-columbia-stealthily-changes-segregated-grad-ceremonies-to-celebrations/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> at the time that in response to the backlash the university received for the segregated “Multicultural Graduation Ceremonies,” the school’s website <a href="https://www.cc-seas.columbia.edu/multicultural/graduateregistration" target="_blank" rel="noopener">was quietly changed</a> to call them “Multicultural Graduation Celebrations.”
The Fix reported in its original article on the ceremonies that they were in addition to the graduation ceremonies for the entire “Ivy League university and its individual schools.”
“In most instances, these smaller, multicultural gatherings evolved from ceremonies originally created by alumni and students,” a school spokesperson told the outlet in an email. “The gatherings are voluntary, open to every student who wants to participate, and have become a highly anticipated and meaningful part of the Columbia graduation experience.”

President Joe Biden reportedly admitted that he had served in the Senate with &#8220;real racists&#8221; and segregationists — mentioning former South Carolina GOP Sen. Strom Thurmond by name — and then claimed that today&#8217;s Republican Party was &#8220;worse.&#8221;
According to a pool report from Wednesday evening, Biden compared Republicans to the men he&#8217;d served with who &#8220;set terrible records on race,&#8221; accusing the GOP of not believing in &#8220;basic democratic principles.&#8221;

But Biden did not elaborate on his own personal history with those &#8220;real racists&#8221; — probably because he has a well-documented history of praising them and even eulogizing them, as several were quick to point out on X.

The other day, I briefly talked about a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/boston-mayor-faces-backlash-over-christmas-party-excluding-white-officials" target="_blank" rel="noopener">racially segregated holiday party</a> that was just thrown by the mayor of Boston, Michelle Wu. In case you missed it, the mayor&#8217;s office only wanted to invite the non-white members of the Boston city council to the event. They wanted to exclude all the white people.
To that end, the mayor&#8217;s staff sent out a bunch of emails addressed to &#8220;electeds of color,&#8221; which is yet another example of the fact that Leftists are simply incapable of speaking English. They&#8217;re well on their way to creating their own language at this point.
But there was a problem with this party. By mistake, the mayor&#8217;s office sent out invitations to all of Boston&#8217;s city council members, including the white devils. It wasn&#8217;t just &#8220;Electeds of Color&#8221; who got an invite, seven white people got one, too. In an administration that cared about the Constitution, or basic morality, this would be a highly embarrassing episode. The mayor would apologize for discriminating on the basis of race and resign. But that&#8217;s not what happened in this case.
Instead, Wu apologized — not for the discrimination, but for accidentally sending the invitation to white people. She says that was the only error she made. Watch:

The mayor also clarified that this &#8220;Electeds of Color&#8221; party has been going on for several years, and it&#8217;s only now been discovered because of the mistake that her staff made. So rest easy, the racial discrimination is nothing new. That&#8217;s the position of the mayor&#8217;s office.
Whatever you make of that, there are a few legal experts who have suggested it might violate Massachusetts law, which doesn&#8217;t allow government officials to use city resources to enforce racial segregation. The Massachusetts Public Accommodations Act bars officials from, &#8220;making any distinction, discrimination, or restriction in admission to or treatment in a place of public accommodation based on race.&#8221; This event was held at the Parkman House, which is owned by the city, although it&#8217;s not open to the public.

Maybe that&#8217;s the &#8220;out&#8221; here. Maybe the mayor can say that it&#8217;s legal to discriminate on the basis of race, as long as it&#8217;s in a city building that isn&#8217;t a &#8220;public accommodation.&#8221; That still doesn&#8217;t address the question of why Wu was so intent on keeping white people away from this event. 
It&#8217;s especially strange given that Wu has a white husband. You might be tempted to think that Wu just wanted to attend a holiday party without her husband around. Maybe that&#8217;s what&#8217;s going on here. She also has two half-white children — are they allowed to be at the party for half the time? Is that how that works?
But this is not a completely satisfying explanation, mainly because it does seem that the mayor has a deep-seated disdain for white people, at least in general. 
For one thing, just a year ago, Wu cracked a joke about how many &#8220;white&#8221; problems she&#8217;s had to deal with in the city. Watch:

This is the point where you have to wonder how someone like Michelle Wu became the mayor of a city like Boston, given that she clearly hates most of the city&#8217;s residents based on their skin color. In fact, even though the white population in Boston is declining, it’s still one of the whitest major cities in the country. And yet it has, arguably, the most anti-white mayor in the country.
How does that happen? Well, not a lot of people are asking that question right now, even in Boston. As I mentioned yesterday, even white members of the city council — the very people that Wu excluded from the holiday party because of their skin color — are mostly shrugging this whole episode off. They&#8217;re suggesting it&#8217;s an isolated incident, as if that would somehow make racial segregation acceptable.
But it&#8217;s not an isolated incident, not even close. You don&#8217;t hear a lot about it, but explicit anti-white discrimination is no longer unusual in this country. I&#8217;m not talking about racial bias, or affirmative action admissions, or racial preferences in hiring and promotions. Everyone knows that&#8217;s been going on. I&#8217;m talking about policies — in government, universities, and school systems — that overtly ban white people from participating.
This is a real problem. It&#8217;s not just happening at the mayor&#8217;s holiday party in Boston. Racial segregation has made a comeback in this country in a big way. You just don’t hear very much about it.

Right now, for example, a school district in Illinois is <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/12/04/news/illinois-schools-segregated-classes-blasted-as-unconstitutional/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">segregating</a> its English and math classes by race. At Evanston Township High School, black and Latino students go into one classroom when it&#8217;s time to learn English, calculus, and algebra. Whites and Asians go into a different room. This is the kind of program that legal experts say is clearly unconstitutional. If anyone sued, it would be struck down immediately. But people aren&#8217;t interested in suing, at least not yet. So the program will continue. They even have a name for this whole system of racial discrimination. The school board calls it &#8220;AXLE&#8221; — for &#8220;Advancing Excellence, Lifting Everyone.&#8221;
As shocking as this sounds, it&#8217;s nothing new for Chicago. A couple of years ago, Chicago&#8217;s mayor at the time, Lori Lightfoot, announced that for one day, she wouldn&#8217;t talk to white reporters. She just straight-up said that she didn&#8217;t want to deal with them. Again, there was mostly a collective shrug from reporters in the city. Watch:

Lightfoot never apologized for that. And why would she? She understands that in Chicago — the third biggest city in the United States — open anti-white race hate isn&#8217;t just tolerated, it&#8217;s popular.
Again there are many more examples. In the wake of George Floyd&#8217;s overdose, Rice University students <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/rice-university-black-house-statue-demolition-demands" target="_blank" rel="noopener">demanded</a> the construction of a literal &#8220;Black House&#8221; on campus, along with segregated housing. And last year, the New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2022/08/19/off-campus-uc-berkeley-housing-bans-white-people-from-common-areas/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that an off-campus housing co-op at U.C. Berkeley had banned white people from the common areas. This is a five-story building called the &#8220;Person of Color Theme House.&#8221;
Here&#8217;s an excerpt from the house rules: 
<blockquote>Many POC moved here to be able to avoid white violence and presence, so respect their decision of avoidance if you bring white guests. &#8230; White guests are not allowed in common spaces.</blockquote>
In fact, some white guests weren&#8217;t allowed at all. As one student reported, &#8220;‘[I] was not allowed to let my dad enter the house because he’s white.&#8221;
If you&#8217;re wondering where Berkeley&#8217;s administration stood on all of this, the answer is that they support it. Anti-white hatred is endemic at the university. Three years ago, in the summer of George Floyd, a third-year student named Seth Smith was shot in the back of the head, execution-style, while he was out for a walk. Smith&#8217;s killer was a black career criminal who mocked Smith for being white when he was arrested.
How did Berkeley administrators respond to this incident? The chancellor released this statement: &#8220;Many of you may have had a close relationship with Seth and are feeling a sense of loss and disbelief. Others, like many of us, are experiencing stress, grief and anxiety related to the coronavirus pandemic and the recent murders of George Floyd, Riah Milton, and other Black Americans.&#8221;
In other words, sorry about the white kid who just got murdered. But isn&#8217;t the death of George Floyd — a felon with no connection whatsoever to Berkeley — also really upsetting? That&#8217;s what they said. Imagine being one of Seth Smith&#8217;s friends or family members and seeing that email. You&#8217;d understand the message immediately, which is that white people don&#8217;t matter.
This is a message that Berkeley has communicated a lot recently, in various ways. For example, the university recently held a blacks-only graduation ceremony. They&#8217;ve been doing this every year for a while now, but earlier this year one clip went viral. Watch:

This is state-funded segregation. And there are many more examples of it, outside of the Bay Area. As of 2019, more than 75 universities in this country <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/red-alert-politics/more-than-75-colleges-host-blacks-only-graduation-ceremonies" target="_blank" rel="noopener">offer</a> black-only graduation ceremonies. The actual number by now is probably much higher. Harvard still hosts &#8220;affinity celebrations&#8221; for graduates, which are subdivided by skin color. White people, of course, are the only racial group that doesn&#8217;t get one.
What&#8217;s important to keep in mind is that none of these incidents were national scandals, although they obviously should have been. In many cases, the people being discriminated against don&#8217;t seem to mind that much. Those impacted by these policies could file lawsuits and, even in our court system, easily win them. A lot of this stuff just isn’t remotely legal. But nobody challenges it. Nobody sues. Nobody even objects, most of the time. And because of that ambivalence, &#8220;racial equity&#8221; is rapidly becoming what it was always going to become, which is the return of racial segregation.

Public school parents in the Big Apple could pay $360 for a five-month “antiracism” workshop hosted by New York University, but only if they were white. 
NYU hosted six, two-hour workshops from February through June and barred minorities from attending in what legal experts called a brazen violation of civil rights, the Washington Free Beacon <a href="https://freebeacon.com/campus/woke-or-kkk-nyu-hosts-whites-only-antiracism-workshop-for-public-school-parents/">reported</a>. 
&#8220;It’s quintessentially illegal,&#8221; said Ilya Shapiro, the director of constitutional studies at the Manhattan Institute, according to the Free Beacon. &#8220;This episode illustrates the horseshoe theory whereby left- and right-wing radicals end up agreeing on race-based societal balkanization. It’s like that social media meme: ‘woke or KKK?’&#8221;
The workshop series, called “From Integration To Anti-Racist (FIAR),” was “designed specifically for white public school parents in New York City committed to becoming anti-racist,” according to a <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20230306012042/https://steinhardt.nyu.edu/events/integration-anti-racist-fiar-workshop-series">page</a> on the university’s website that has since been removed. The workshop organizers also handed out a <a href="https://static1.squarespace.com/static/581e9e06ff7c509a5ca2fe32/t/5986432386e6c09a29eedc62/1501971235500/01+AWARE-LA+Why+a+White+Space.pdf">three-page flier</a> on why they thought it was appropriate to segregate whites from minorities for the “antiracist” sessions. 
“It’s helpful to have a space where other white people engaged in this process can support and challenge us, without having to always subject people of color to further undue trauma or pain as we stumble and make mistakes,” the flier states.
“A white space serves as a resource to people of color who want to work with white people but don’t want to have to spend all their energy dealing with the racism of white people,” the explainer adds.
Samantha Harris, an attorney who focuses on campus speech and civil rights issues, was shocked that the workshop’s organizers failed to see the irony of the so-called “antiracist” seminar.
&#8220;They are literally running a ‘whites only’ program in the interest of so-called social justice,&#8221; Harris told the Free Beacon. &#8220;I find it inconceivable that the people putting these programs together don’t see the irony.&#8221;

Some participants were thankful that minorities were barred from attending, fearing that they would cause them “harm” by confessing their internalized racism. 
&#8220;I was so grateful that there weren’t, you know, people of color in this space to hear me say [that] my first experience learning about what my race was was a black boy with a knife. That can be harming,&#8221; one parent said. 
As parents came in for their first session, they were greeted by Woody Guthrie’s &#8220;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWUa7aAIfLE">All You Fascists Bound to Lose</a>,&#8221; which was performed by the &#8220;Resistance Revival Chorus,&#8221; a group “of more than 60 womxn and non-binary singers.” During one session, a parent questioned if it was “a little counterintuitive” to hold a workshop on “antiracism” while excluding minorities, but Barbara Gross, one of the workshop’s organizers, said it was for the good of minorities that the seminar was for white people only. 
&#8220;People of color are dealing with racism all the time,&#8221; Gross said. &#8220;Like every minute of every day. It’s a harm on top of a harm for them to hear our racist thoughts.&#8221;
NYU told the Free Beacon that it would be “reviewing these matters to determine whether they conform to our standards.”

The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/video-games">gaming convention</a> Gen Con is under fire for introducing a “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/segregation">BIPOC Lounge</a>” for black, indigenous, and other people of color who attend. 
“The BIPOC Lounge is a dedicated space for BIPOC attendees to connect, relax, network, and utilize for career focused endeavors. With the intention to build, assist, and provide resources for the growth of the community, we encourage BIPOC attendees to visit the space,” the Gen Con Instagram description <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/Cfo4gTApn0w/">said</a>. 
“This space was created to follow through on our goals of spotlighting underrepresented voices, supplementing convention experiences, and supporting new opportunities for those seeking to enter or move further into the tabletop industry. Gen Con is committed to maintaining this goal and will ensure this space is used for this purpose throughout the show.”
Comments were disabled on the Instagram post, but reactions on Twitter were brutal, especially after the popular account Libs of TikTok <a href="https://twitter.com/libsoftiktok/status/1545069629210591233">shared</a> a screenshot of the post announcing the BIPOC Lounge.
“So inclusive,” the account for The Daily Wire&#8217;s &#8220;Candace&#8221; <a href="https://twitter.com/thecandaceshow/status/1545073100504670213">wrote</a>.
“They’re so progressive that they’re actually regressive,” another Twitter user <a href="https://twitter.com/PrimeSC30/status/1545070523373199361">shared</a>.
While the BIPOC lounge at Gen Con is optional, leftists have been accused in the past of advocating for segregation in certain settings, mainly schools. Last September, Texas Tech University canceled a so-called anti-racism seminar that segregated students by race, The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/university-cancels-anti-racism-seminar-that-segregated-students-by-race">reported</a> at the time. 
“Upon reviewing materials from the ‘Deeply Rooted Conversations’ discussion series, we learned that some of the content does not align with our university values, and we have discontinued this program,” Texas Tech spokesman Matt Dewey told The Daily Caller News Foundation. This was after Young America’s Foundation revealed the segregation through a Freedom of Information Act request.
The groups for the event were divided up as “BIPOC affinity space” and “Ally affinity space” before the seminar got canceled.
In August, black parents in Atlanta became furious upon learning that their elementary school children were being <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/black-parents-outraged-after-learning-atlanta-elementary-school-segregated-classes-by-race">segregated by race</a> in their classrooms. 
“[The principal] said, ‘That’s not one of the black classes.’ And I immediately said, ‘What does that mean?’ I was confused,” mother Kila Posey told the local news outlet. “I asked for more clarification. I was like, ‘We have those in this school?’ And she proceeded to say, &#8216;Yes, I have decided that I’m going to place all of the black students in two classes.’”
“We’ve lost sleep trying to figure out, like, why would a person do this? First, it was just disbelief that I was having this conversation in 2020 with a person that looks just like me, a black woman,” Posey continued. “It’s segregating classrooms. You cannot segregate classrooms. You can’t do it.”

President Joe Biden is catching heat for remarking on the old days of having lunch with &#8220;real segregationists&#8221; during an event in Ohio, but readers should keep in mind that this isn&#8217;t the first time Biden has made such comments. In fact, during the 2020 campaign, then-Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) rebuked similar statements made by Biden as being &#8220;misinformed and &#8230; wrong.&#8221;
While appearing on stage in Hamilton, Ohio, with Senators Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and Rob Portman (R-OH) on Friday, the president went off on a tangent regarding the apparent lack of civility in D.C. nowadays that America sees from the halls of Congress.
&#8220;You know, things have kinda changed since the days when I first got there &#8230;&#8221; Biden said, Townhall <a href="https://townhall.com/tipsheet/spencerbrown/2022/05/06/joe-biden-longs-for-the-days-he-could-have-lunch-with-real-segregationists-n2606863">noted</a>. &#8220;We always used to fight like hell.”
&#8220;Even back in the old days when we had real segregationists like [James] Eastland and [Strom] Thurmond and all those guys, but [at least] we end up eating lunch together,&#8221; the president added. &#8220;Things have changed, we&#8217;ve gotta bring it back,&#8221; he added before complimenting Portman on his character.

The press secretary for Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO), Abigail Marone, wondered why the president thought it was a good idea to make such comments in the first place.

Indeed, his vice president had similar thoughts back in 2019.
Prior to Biden securing the Democratic 2020 nomination, Comedy Central&#8217;s Trevor Noah ran a segment highlighting that the now-president’s aides had advised him on the campaign trail not to discuss segregationists and his cordial relationships with them.
&#8220;Joe Biden is under fire this evening on comments he made about working alongside segregationist senators in the past,&#8221; NBC&#8217;s Lester Holt said during the segment, before cutting to NBC reporter Peter Alexander who provided more detail.
&#8220;Biden recalling his early Senate career, bringing up two segregationist senators, Herman Talmadge and James Eastland, who called African-Americans an inferior race,&#8221; Alexander said before quoting Biden.
&#8220;I was in a caucus with James O. Eastland,&#8221; Biden said. &#8220;He never called me ‘boy,’ he always called me ‘son.’ At least there was some civility. We got things done. We didn’t agree on much of anything. We got things done.&#8221;
&#8220;Biden made the comments despite his aides having long urged him not to discuss his relationships with segregationist senators,&#8221; Alexander claimed.
Noah quipped at the time, &#8220;You can’t come out in 2019 and say that these two senators from back in the day were super racist, but at least they were civil.&#8221;
&#8220;Yeah, civil to you maybe. Of course they never called you &#8216;boy,’” the host pointed out. &#8220;You’re white.&#8221;
Noah also noted that Harris blasted Biden for his comments, saying, &#8220;To coddle the reputations of segregationists, of people who, if they had their way, I would literally not be standing here as a member of the United States Senate, is, I think, um … It’s just &#8230; It’s misinformed, and it’s wrong.&#8221;

It would seem that Biden still hasn&#8217;t received the memo from his aides or his second in command that referencing segregationists in a positive light is not the best move politically.
Perhaps comments like that are why candidates like Ohio&#8217;s Democratic Senate nominee Tim Ryan have refused to commit to campaigning alongside the president. On Thursday, Ryan told Fox News that he didn&#8217;t &#8220;want any distractions&#8221; during the campaign while dodging a question about whether or not he would be making any appearances with Biden:

Centennial Elementary School in Denver, Colorado, is taking us back to the days of state-sanctioned racism a la their segregated &#8220;Families of Color Playground Nights.&#8221; The surprising event put on in the name of diversity, equity, and inclusion was flagged by Manhattan Institute senior fellow and City Journal writer Christopher Rufo on Tuesday.
Rufo tweeted, &#8220;Denver Public Schools now promoting racially-segregated playtime—for &#8216;equity.'&#8221; alongside a photo that featured advertisements for one of the events:

Denver Public Schools spokesperson Scott Pribble confirmed to Rufo that these events have been taking place. Pribble also said that the &#8220;Families of Color&#8221; playground nights &#8220;provide connections, support, and inspirations for families which share similar experiences, and come from similar backgrounds.&#8221;
&#8220;Efforts like these are about uniting us, not dividing us,&#8221; Pribble said regarding the school event.

In a statement <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2021/12/14/denver-public-schools-racially-segregated-playground-night/">given</a> to The Daily Caller, Pribble also said that the events were created after several black families had requested a &#8220;space of belonging.&#8221;
&#8220;Some of these families shared with us that, since the only time many of them see one another is at drop-off and pick-up times, we host some events where Black families can meet one another, connect with one another and share their experiences about the school with one another,&#8221; The Daily Caller reported.
Rufo — who has emerged as a leader in the anti-critical race theory movement — compared past forms of discrimination by saying, &#8220;[f]rom &#8216;separate but equal&#8217; to &#8216;separate but equitable.'&#8221;

Rufo also found that the monthly events included several activities based on critical race theory principles.
&#8220;In this first session, we will introduce the Equity Book Study and Equity Discussions which will alternate each month,” a Facebook post from September said, adding that the group would meet the first Wednesday of each month and that it would be reading &#8220;How We Show Up: Reclaiming Family, Friendship, and Community&#8221; by Mia Birdsong.&#8221;
&#8220;In alternating months, we will discuss another resource, topic, or equity-related theme,&#8221; the social media post added. “This first month, we will focus on getting to know each other and learning about how we can contribute to equity at Centennial.&#8221;
Likewise, Denver law professor Dave Kopel made note that these events are likely illegal.

Segregation sanctioned by school officials — who for some reason believe it to beneficial — has crept back up in America over at least the past year. In August, The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/black-parents-outraged-after-learning-atlanta-elementary-school-segregated-classes-by-race">reported</a> on a black mother in Atlanta who was outraged after learning her daughter&#8217;s school principal had divided classes between white and black students:

First, it was just disbelief that I was having this conversation in 2020 with a person that looks just like me, a black woman,” Posey said. “It’s segregating classrooms. You cannot segregate classrooms. You can’t do it.” </blockquote>
The &#8220;Families of Color Playground Nights&#8221; come nearly 70 years after the Supreme Court ruled that racial segregation in public schools was illegal under the U.S. Constitution.

‘Separate But Equitable’: Denver Elementary School Hosts Racially Segregated Family Playground Night

Texas Tech University has said it canceled a so-called anti-racism seminar that segregated students by race.
The Daily Caller News Foundation <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2021/09/17/college-segregates-students-diversity-inclusion-seminar/">reported</a> that the university said it had canceled the seminar after the Young America’s Foundation (YAF) revealed the segregation through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.
“Upon reviewing materials from the ‘Deeply Rooted Conversations’ discussion series, we learned that some of the content does not align with our university values, and we have discontinued this program,” Texas Tech spokesman Matt Dewey told the Caller.
YAF’s Kara Zupkus <a href="https://www.yaf.org/news/texas-tech-forces-students-into-segregated-breakout-sessions-during-anti-racism-training/">reported</a> on Thursday that the organization had received documents showing Texas Tech segregated its students by race during “anti-racism” training. Video footage revealed by YAF showed Mica Curtis-Wilson, who the Caller reported is no longer employed at the university, telling students and faculty to separate according to skin color. The groups were referred to as the “BIPOC affinity space” and the “Ally affinity space.” The groups were part of the “Allyship and Co-Conspirator” session of the training, which was called the “Deeply Rooted Conversations.”
“We are breaking up into two separate rooms just to facilitate conversation…and also to allow those who identify with each other to be able to communicate ways in which we can be better allies in different spaces,” Curtis-Wilson said in the video.
“If I accidentally move you to the wrong room please just let me know,” she added, saying she was segregating students based on their registration. “The point of this is to be able to identify how we experience these concepts and ideas and deeply listen to others and how they understand these ideas.”
Students were also segregated during the “Understanding Whiteness and White Allyship” and the “Racial Battle Fatigue” sessions. More from YAF:

YAF said it obtained the information through the FOIA request after a student tipped them off. Dewey, the university spokesman, defended the trainings by calling them “optional educational opportunity conversations.”
“When they registered, they self-identified…if they wanted to switch they could do that at any time,” he reportedly told YAF.
“This was an opportunity for people to discuss their individual experiences both on our campus and in their lives more broadly. I think in a lot of these situations it’s kind of a personal reflection and then they come back together and kind of discuss within the broader group,” he added.
Dewey later told the Caller that the seminar “was not part of the sanctioned academic curriculum at Texas Tech University.”
“It was a series of strictly voluntary, optional discussions offered as part of a pilot program to students who were interested in participating through the Division of Diversity, Equity &amp; Inclusion,” he added.

Her complaint argues that the school violated Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which claims that “no person in the United States shall, on the ground of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.” 
The fate of a discrimination complaint of this nature remains unclear, given that it was turned in to President Joe Biden’s Department of Education. 
The Senate education committee has held hearings with Biden’s nominee to lead the Office of Civil Rights, Catherine Lhamon. During her hearing, Lhamon <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/gop-urges-education-department-to-investigate-crt-complaints-biden-introduces-civil-rights-nominee-who-may-approve-of-crt">refused to answer</a> whether it would be “a violation of Title VI to ascribe character traits, values, moral and ethical codes, privileges, status or beliefs to a race or to an individual solely because of his or her race.”
The Biden Education Department has similarly reversed course on a Trump-era ruling that found racial “affinity groups” to be a form of segregation. Racial “affinity groups” — which could be used to justify racially segregated classes — separate students and staff by race in hopes of giving black people a “safe space” to discuss their experiences with racism while providing a separate space for white people to learn about their “white privilege.” 
Under current Education Department standards, racial affinity groups in public schools are permissible and do not violate Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Black Parent Outraged After Learning Atlanta Elementary School Segregated Classes By Race

One of MSNBC’s rare Republican contributors has said that the best way to bolster “democracy” is to “burn down” the Republican Party, because it has become the home of “the wackiest wackies” and “neo-fascists.” The Republican, a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lincoln-project">Lincoln Project</a> <a href="https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-01-11/del-percio-says-it-is-highly-unlikely-trump-to-be-convicted/13046598">senior adviser</a> and former adviser to Andrew Cuomo, offered herself as one of the people who could help rebuild the GOP after its four-year grassroots interregnum.
Republican strategist Susan Del Percio petitioned for the political arson during a special, two-hour edition of “The ReidOut” Monday evening.
Del Percio said, “I have been looking for a new word for Trumpism, because I hate it,” and the torrent of extremism “goes deeper than just Donald Trump within the Republican Party.”
“Forget Trumpism. It’s neofascism. That’s what the grassroots of the party looks like right now,” Del Percio continued.
Del Percio zinged Texas gubernatorial hopeful <a href="http://therightswriter.com/2004/01/frontpage-magazines-2003-man-of-the-year-col-allen-b-west/">Allen West</a>, whom she appeared to confuse with the late “Batman” star <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLZQ3OLEJWE">Adam West</a>, predicting that “the wackiest wackies are going to win the Republican primary, but they’re going to lose in general elections. And that may not just help Democrats, but it will help the Republican Party in a way, because it will burn it down — maybe not in 2022 or 2024. But after enough losses, we can see maybe normal returning, because those neofascists will be out of the party.”
Host Joy Reid told Del Percio, “I talk to Republicans like you all the time,” and they tell her that, since 2016, the GOP is “burning, like it’s gone straight to Hell, and no one seems to have an answer as to how you pull it back.”
“Do you have ideas on how to pull it back to at least sanity, where we’re just fighting about tax cuts again?” she asked.
“It needs to burn down,” Del Percio repeated. “It literally needs to be demolished before you can go in and build it up again.”
MSNBC and CNN make little pretense of equal coverage, but they sometimes feature registered Republicans who take a harder line against the GOP than the most partisan Democratic operative. Del Percio is such a Republican.
Del Percio, who led unsuccessful Republican campaigns for <a href="https://www.lohud.com/story/news/politics/politics-on-hudson/0001/01/01/cuomo-adds-gop-operative-special-adviser/6300047/">governor</a> of New York and <a href="http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/dailypolitics/2013/01/gop-consultant-susan-del-percio-on-board-as-joe-lhota-mulls-2013-mayoral-run">mayor</a> of New York City, has played both sides of the aisle. In March 2014, she served as a <a href="https://www.governor.ny.gov/news/governor-cuomo-appoints-susan-del-percio-serve-special-advisor">special adviser</a> to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D), earning a state salary of <a href="https://www.politico.com/states/new-york/albany/story/2014/03/cuomo-adds-gop-operative-as-special-advisor-011528">$160,000</a>, but left the administration the following January. “Her hiring at the time was seen as a smart tactical move by Cuomo to keep her from being swept up in an election year by his GOP opponent,” <a href="https://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/dailypolitics/goper-susan-del-percio-departing-cuomo-administration-blog-entry-1.2074056">reported</a> the New York Daily News.
Del Percio has continued to present herself as an Andrew Cuomo Republican, penning an NBC News <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/think/opinion/coronavirus-trump-s-failures-have-presidentcuomo-trending-s-fantasy-ncna1172541?cid=sm_npd_ms_fb_ma">op-ed</a> extolling his leadership during the COVID-19 outbreak.
“Andrew Cuomo is no longer just New York&#8217;s governor — he is now America&#8217;s governor,” she wrote. “Thanks to his excellent leadership during the overwhelming health crisis caused by the coronavirus, Cuomo has provided much-needed comfort and information to the entire country. He has been so effective and has presented such a stark contrast with the vacuum of leadership in the White House that now some people are saying he should be America&#8217;s president.”
The only reason Cuomo should not enter the presidential primaries, Del Percio concluded, is that New Yorkers like herself “are not willing to trade him. He belongs to New York, and we need him to stay here.”
Del Percio went on to become a special adviser to the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/steve-schmidt-resigns-from-the-lincoln-project-releases-statement-claiming-he-was-molested-at-13">scandal-plagued</a> Lincoln Project. She told Reid that Democrats tell her, “Please stay a Republican,” because the party will need leaders to turn the GOP away from the concerns that animate its base voters once they are routed. “That also means there has to be people willing to keep their Republican credentials to be there when it’s time to build it up.”
Reid mentioned none of Del Percio’s associations with unsavory political movements to her viewers, instead misinforming her audience that Allen West “has suggested black communities were stronger and better during segregation, so, he’s anti-Dr. [Martin Luther] King [Jr.].” Del Percio added that West believes in “secession.”
West has long noted that black families had a lower out-of-wedlock birthrate before the Great Society and the sexual revolution of the 1960s and 1970s — a trend <a href="https://www.brookings.edu/research/an-analysis-of-out-of-wedlock-births-in-the-united-states/">observed</a> by current Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen.
“When I was born in 1961, between 75 to 77 percent of the households had two parents,” West has said. “Today, it&#8217;s at 24 percent, and you can trace that right back to a failed policy from Lyndon Johnson, where the government provided checks to women who had children out of wedlock as long as they did not have a man in the home.” West <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fh34JJskCt8">told</a> Young America’s Foundation in April, “The black family is the reason why the black community survived through slavery, Jim Crow, segregation, all of these horrible things.”
West has also said he <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/texas-gop-chair-denies-calling-for-secession-the-real-perpetrators-are-states-who-broke-election-law">never endorsed secession</a>, saying his political opponents twisted his words.
