The Tartan Army has decided to give back to Boston charities after <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/boston-has-fully-embraced-the-tartan-army-takeover?author=Gus+Wilson&amp;category=undefined&amp;elementPosition=30&amp;row=3&amp;rowHeadline=Latest+News&amp;rowType=Vertical+Carousel&amp;title=Boston+Has+Fully+Embraced+The+Tartan+Army+Takeover">drinking their pubs dry</a> and drastically increasing revenue.
Fans of Scotland’s national team, also known as the Tartan Army, have taken over the New England area for their team’s first two matches in the 2026 World Cup. Local bars have reported “triple” the number of sales since their arrival. 
In their first act of kindness, the fans were <a href="https://x.com/1scottishbanter/status/2067301916686635123?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E2067301916686635123%7Ctwgr%5Ec5bee34e271161d31d97a59ad51293d1464d3146%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailywire.com%2Fnews%2Fboston-has-fully-embraced-the-tartan-army-takeover">picking up</a> after themselves. They followed that up with thousands of dollars of donations to local organizations.
“If we can help ease the pain, it’ll make their life a little bit better, why shouldn’t we help out in some way?” a member of the Tartan Army said in an <a href="https://x.com/PeterAdamSmith/status/2067357629437935814">interview with ITV News’ Peter Smith</a>. “I hope that message spreads as well. It’s that simple.”
The tradition of donating to their hosts communities spans two decades as the army follows Scotland all over the world.
The Tartan Army visited Hasbro Children&#8217;s Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island, where they later donated $10,000 for cancer research. Sarah Frost, the hospital&#8217;s president, even met up with the fans to personally thank them for the five-figure donation.
“The energy, the excitement, the love, the passion that you all bring, you know Providence is a smaller community, but you have won the hearts and minds of everyone here,” Frost told the fan in the interview.
“Job done,” the fan replied with a smile.
The fans made their next stop at Horizons for Homeless Children in Roxbury, a Boston neighborhood. Members of the army toured the center, played bagpipes for the children, and capped it off with a $1,200 contribution.
“All we were seeking to do was to come with the Tartan Army, spread a little peace, hope, and goodwill and make a difference to the American people,” a Tartan Army “soldier” <a href="https://x.com/kumoriRaver/status/2067386250298789958">told NBC10 Boston</a>. 
Scotland’s last match in Boston takes place June 19, 2026, against Morocco. The Tartan Army will follow the national team to Miami for their final group stage match, where they will surely continue the tradition of donations and drinking bars dry.

Scottish soccer fans have settled into their new home for the first two games of their first World Cup appearance since 1998 — Boston, Massachusetts — and they are making quite an impression. 
Boston, thus far, has welcomed the Scots with open arms and even passed laws to keep their party rolling.
Members of the Tartan Army — diehard Scotland national team fans — have made themselves at home in Boston over the last week following their opening game win over Haiti, 1-0. The victory didn’t stop on the field, and businesses around the city benefited from the influx of Scots — and a well-timed change in state and local laws made just for this summer.
Sam Adams Boston Taproom, one of the more well-known bars in the New England area, was shocked by the ability of the Tartan Army to drink the entire pub dry over the weekend. Sam Adams told local news that they drank four times as much as what is normally consumed over a four-day holiday weekend.
“We’ve never seen anything like it,” Billy DeCain of the Sam Adams Boston Taproom <a href="https://www.nbcboston.com/news/local/are-scottish-soccer-fans-drinking-all-of-the-beer-in-boston/3966171/">told local NBC News</a>.
Hennessy’s Bar, another famous spot in Boston, was also left in disbelief after reviewing its numbers from the opening weekend of the tournament.
“We’ve been here for over 30 years, and we’ve never seen anything like it,” Noelle Somers, chief operating officer of the bar, told the Boston Globe. “We tripled St. Patrick&#8217;s Day.”
The record-breaking sales across the city derive from what Scots are dubbing the “Tartan Army Bill.” 
Last week, the Boston Licensing Board passed a measure allowing 144 establishments to stay open an hour past the usual closing time through July 31 under a state law signed by Governor Maura Healey.
“This bill will provide more opportunities for people to celebrate with their community for the World Cup and the other exciting events we have happening this summer for MA250,” Governor Maura Healey said in a statement after she signed the bill.
Scottish fans caught wind of the measure over the weekend — dubbing it the &#8220;Tartan Army Bill&#8221; — and repaid the hospitality with a full rendition of the U.S. national anthem in a Boston bar.

Scotland is facing backlash as the country could potentially adopt the most extreme abortion laws in the European Union.
Scotland is currently regulated by the 1967 Abortion Act, which allows abortions up to 24 weeks of gestation if two doctors agree that the criteria are met. This is notably higher than in many other European countries, where the limit is usually 12 weeks. 
But now, thanks to a <a href="https://www.gov.scot/publications/review-abortion-law-scotland-expert-group-report/pages/2/">review</a> of abortion law commissioned by the Scottish Government, those restrictions could be abolished entirely, with women able to access abortion up to birth for “social reasons” including for reasons of sex selection, such as aborting a daughter if the mother wanted a son instead.
The Abortion Law Expert Group said the current requirements demanding approval from two doctors are “anachronistic, paternalistic and failed to reflect best modern practice.” A new proposal would require approval from two “healthcare professionals,” which would broaden the scope to include nurses, midwives, and other roles in the medical field issuing those approvals.
The topic of sex selection abortions was mentioned in the recommendations, <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/11/18/scotland-abortion-plan-dystopian-nightmare/">per</a> The Telegraph.
“[The review group] believed that any prohibition would be unworkable in practice,” Anna Glasier, the chair of The Abortion Law Expert Group, said, “&#8230;requiring either intrusive and inappropriate questioning of all women regarding their motivation for seeking abortion, or racial profiling and additional questioning of a smaller proportion of women from ethnic communities where sex-selective abortion is believed to be practiced.”

No decision has been made on the recommendations, but Jenni Minto, Scotland’s Minister for Women’s Health, said the government will “take time to carefully consider all the findings.”
There has been backlash against the extreme proposal. Telegraph columnist Celia Walden called it a “dystopian nightmare,” <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/11/18/scotland-abortion-plan-dystopian-nightmare/">writing</a>, “the idea of engineering your children like you’re picking toppings on a pizza makes me queasy.”
Director of advocacy and policy for the Christian group Care for Scotland, Caroline Ansell, said, “If enacted, we believe they would have heartbreaking consequences for women and babies, including exposing more women to the dangers and harms of late-term abortions.”
Several pro-life groups have <a href="https://thecatholicherald.com/article/scottish-government-misreads-public-opinion-on-sex-selective-abortion">pointed out</a> that this proposed change does not reflect public opinion, which has become increasingly opposed to abortion. 
A recent Ipsos <a href="https://www.ipsos.com/en-us/data-dive-how-women-and-men-feel-about-abortion-issues">poll</a> across 29 countries found that a higher percentage of Millennial and Gen Z women were opposed to keeping abortion legal in all cases compared to Baby Boomers, who were the biggest supporters of abortion of the demographics surveyed.

In a move that the U.S. State Department called “tyrannical,&#8221; a 75-year-old anti-abortion grandmother, Rose Docherty, once again found herself in handcuffs in Scotland—not for a crime of violence, but for holding a sign.
Docherty was arrested over the weekend outside Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, allegedly for violating Scotland’s sweeping “buffer zone” law, which criminalizes not only harassment or intimidation around abortion clinics, but even the vague notion of “influencing.”
In response to the arrest, the State Department issued a <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/us/politics/2025/09/28/us-condemns-arrest-scottish-antiabortion-campaigner/">statement</a> to the Telegraph, saying:

The law forbids any such action within 200 meters of every hospital in Scotland.
This isn’t Docherty’s first run-in with the law. She was previously arrested in August for holding the same sign in the same spot. That case was quietly dropped after global outrage and a direct rebuke from the State Department.
Docherty has had two hip replacements. After her most recent arrest, she was reportedly denied a chair for several hours while in custody. Her bail conditions now prevent her from returning not only to the buffer zone, but also to an area even larger than the restricted zone—an expansion her legal team at Alliance Defending Freedom International calls “disproportionate.”
Legal counsel Lorcan Price <a href="https://adfinternational.org/news/tyrannical-arrest-of-scottish-grandmother-abortion-buffer-zone">hit</a> the nail on the head: “This is not a case about harassment or intimidation&#8230; This is simply a grandmother, who held a sign offering to speak to anyone who would like to engage.”
Scotland’s government, led by those determined to muzzle dissent, seems committed to pushing the narrative that a peaceful granny is somehow a public threat.
In a now-infamous moment, Scottish Member of Parliament Gillian Mackay, architect of the law, even admitted that someone could potentially be criminalized for praying inside their home if visible from the street, “depending on who’s passing by the window.”
Docherty summed it up: “Conversation is not forbidden on the streets of Glasgow. And yet, this is the second time I have been arrested for doing just that.”

In a viral video from Dundee, Scotland, three schoolgirls stand on a hilltop. One clutches a knife and a hatchet, brandishing them toward an advancing man. Another shields a third girl in a pink sweatshirt, her voice breaking as she cries: “Don’t touch my sister, she’s twelve!”
It is a moment that distills civilizational decline. In that scream lies the sound of failure — the burden of defense shifted from the strong to the small, from institutions to children. Collapse rarely announces itself with flames and rubble; more often, it creeps in through abdication. 
The state’s first response was not to <a href="https://redstate.com/streiff/2025/08/26/fourteen-year-old-scottish-girl-arrested-for-resisting-probable-assault-by-migrants-n2193258">confront the predator, but to charge the girl</a> for holding a weapon to defend herself and her sister.

This is the inversion of justice that defines too much of Western life today: The fear of offending a racial and religious minority outweighs the fear of harming innocent civilians, including and especially young girls and women. “Tolerance” is stretched to excuse the intolerable, and girls are left to bear the costs of the public class’s cowardice. The impulse to confront evil has been hollowed out, replaced by the reflex to punish those who resist it or even name it.
The forthcoming “Women and the West” report, which I authored for Independent Women, reckons with this reality. It documents how Western societies practice what scholars call “<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NknDCkgdENQ">suicidal empathy</a>” — the refusal to confront illiberal practices, even when they imperil women. It is why <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/society/2025/jun/16/grooming-gangs-in-uk-thrived-in-culture-of-ignorance-casey-report-says">British authorities ignored grooming gangs</a> that preyed on thousands of girls, because the men were Pakistani Muslims and the girls were largely white. It is why Sweden, once among the safest nations on earth, now faces <a href="https://www.gisreportsonline.com/r/sweden-immigrants-crisis/">epidemic levels of sexual violence</a>. Why a Dundee schoolgirl is treated as a criminal while her desperate cry — “She’s twelve!” — is brushed aside.
But the tragedy extends beyond abandoned girls. It is also about men stripped of their civilizational role as protectors. Where were the men in Dundee? Where were the men in Rottingham and in the other cities across the UK while their daughters were being raped? We know the legal system bears the brunt of the blame: Those who act are punished. In the UK, even those who speak out about what happens risk jail.
America knows this story too: <a href="https://www.thefp.com/p/the-interrogation-of-daniel-penny">Daniel Penny,</a> a Marine veteran, intervened on a New York subway to restrain a violent man threatening passengers. For protecting strangers, he was not honored but indicted. The message on both sides of the Atlantic is too often: step forward, risk prison; stay silent, stay safe. But safety purchased by silence comes at the cost of culture itself. A society that criminalizes protectors breeds passive men and terrified women. Ultimately Americans rallied around Daniel Penny. Our commitment to free speech and to the sacred concept of the right to self-defense trumped our tendency for suicidal empathy. Will the UK rally around this brave girl in Scotland? 
The fate of women has always been the measure of a civilization’s strength. Where law is upheld and courage honored, women thrive. Where cowardice reigns and defenders are vilified, women and girls suffer first and most. From Kabul to Cologne to Dundee, the pattern holds.

True liberalism never meant limitless tolerance. It meant ordered liberty: borders that protect sovereignty, cultures bound by shared norms, and institutions willing to enforce justice without apology. Strength sustains freedom. Freedom safeguards women. If the West cannot recover the will to defend its daughters and honor its sons who rise to protect, then our undoing will not come by invasion from without but surrender from within.

This week Scotland <a href="https://adfinternational.org/news/state-department-scotland-rose-docherty#:~:text=GLASGOW%20(18%20August%202025)%20%E2%80%93,Glasgow's%20Queen%20Elizabeth%20II%20Hospital." target="_blank" rel="noopener">dropped</a> a criminal lawsuit against a pro-life grandmother seeking peaceful conversation outside of a hospital.
Glasgow native Rose Docherty, 75, was arrested and issued a warning in February 2025 for standing within 200 metres of the city’s Queen Elizabeth II Hospital with a sign that read “Coercion is a crime, here to talk, only if you want.”
Docherty was arrested under Scotland’s new <a href="https://www.legislation.gov.uk/asp/2024/10/section/4" target="_blank" rel="noopener">buffer zone law</a>, which came into effect last September. The Abortion Services Bill makes it illegal to stand within 200 meters (656 feet) of a hospital for the purpose of “influencing, preventing access, or causing harassment” to women seeking abortions. Offenders can receive fines of up to £10,000.
A State Department spokesman told the Telegraph that it applauds Scotland’s decision to drop the case.
“The United States stands with all those fighting for free speech and religious liberty.”
Docherty <a href="https://adfinternational.org/en-gb/news/prayer-by-window-in-scotland-buffer-zone-2" target="_blank" rel="noopener">says</a> she wasn’t violating the buffer zone.
“Everyone has the right to a consensual conversation. I simply made myself available for a chat, should anybody like to approach me and speak about any matter on their mind. I didn’t breach the buffer zone – I didn’t harass, intimidate, or even seek to influence anyone. I simply stood there, available to speak with love and compassion.”
After her arrest, Docherty was issued a formal warning that required her to admit wrongdoing and refrain from similar actions in the future. She refused to sign it.
This week, a prosecutor for Glasgow notified Ms. Docherty by letter that &#8220;on the basis of the current information available to me, I have decided to take no further action… at this time.&#8221;
The warning was withdrawn, and authorities agreed to return Docherty’s sign.
The letter noted there was an &#8220;obligation on the prosecutor to keep cases under review,” meaning that charges could technically be reintroduced at a later date.
Docherty and her legal counsel, ADF International, are celebrating the development as a win for free speech: “This is a victory not just for me, but for everyone in Scotland who believes we should be free to hold a peaceful conversation,” Docherty said.
“I stood with love and compassion, ready to listen to anyone who wanted to talk. Criminalising kindness has no place in a free society.”
ADF International Legal Counsel Lorcán Price said that &#8220;Rose’s case is a stark example of how ‘buffer zone’ laws can be weaponised to silence peaceful expression.”
Scotland’s buffer zone law sparked controversy earlier this year when Vice President JD Vance <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c87d9j17pjqo" target="_blank" rel="noopener">accused</a> the Scottish government of policing citizens’ thoughts in his address at the Munich Security Conference in February.
&#8220;This last October, just a few months ago, the Scottish government began distributing letters to citizens whose houses lay within so-called safe access zones, warning them that even private prayer within their own homes may amount to breaking the law.&#8221;
The government denied the accusation, saying the legislation did not target private prayer.
The <a href="https://www.gov.scot/binaries/content/documents/govscot/publications/foi-eir-release/2025/03-a/foi-202500452910/documents/foi-202500452910---information-released---annex/foi-202500452910---information-released---annex/govscot%3Adocument/FOI%2B202500452910%2B-%2BInformation%2Breleased%2B-%2BAnnex.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letters</a> sent to residents did not mention prayer specifically, but warned them against performing offenses “in a private place…if they can be seen or heard within the Zone.”
These could include putting up pro-life signs in your windows or holding a vigil or protest in your front yard, according to the <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c87d9j17pjqo" target="_blank" rel="noopener">BBC</a>.

The National Library of Scotland (NLS) is under fire after Amina Shah, Scotland’s national librarian and the NLS chief executive, opted not to include a pro-women&#8217;s rights book in a centenary display.
The NLS initially asked the public for nominations, calling the display a &#8220;love letter&#8221; to reading and literacy and suggesting that people submit titles that had inspired and encouraged their love of reading — and titles that received a certain number of nominations were to be included in the planned ten-month display.
One book that received more than double the requisite number of nominations was &#8220;The Women Who Wouldn&#8217;t Wheesht&#8221; — a series of essays that chronicled the fight between feminists like &#8220;Harry Potter&#8221; author J.K. Rowling who questioned radical gender ideology and former Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon&#8217;s gender self-identification law. The title comes from their refusal to remain silent — in the Gaelic &#8220;haud yer wheesht&#8221; — while radical trans activists effectively erased women.
Despite meeting the threshold for display, &#8220;The Women Who Wouldn&#8217;t Wheesht&#8221; was banned by the NLS after LGBT staffers complained that it was &#8220;hate speech.&#8221; Shah claimed that she&#8217;d made the decision in light of &#8220;the potential impact on key stakeholders&#8221; who could potentially &#8220;withdraw support for the exhibition and the centenary&#8221; altogether.
Susan Dalgety and Lucy Hunter Blackburn, who edited the book, sent a letter to Shah questioning the decision.
&#8220;We have written to the National Librarian about her decision to remove The Women Who Wouldn&#8217;t Wheesht from the centenary exhibition for the National Library of Scotland, Dear Library, in response to complaints from its LGBT staff network,&#8221; an X post including the letter explained.

For Women Scotland also issued a statement criticizing the NLS, saying, &#8220;Just when we thought censorship in Scotland couldn&#8217;t get any worse, it emerges that @natlibscot decided to remove WWWW from an exhibition due to tantrums from the staff LGBT group. President Trump showed European allies the ‘art of the deal’ this week as his own luxury resort in Scotland played host to negotiations for one of the largest trade deals in history.
Accompanied by bagpipes, the President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/europe-laughed-at-trump-now-theyre-going-to-cut-a-big-energy-check">shook hands</a> with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and U.K. Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, and heralded a major new US-EU trade pact — encompassing a 15% tariff rate on European imports.
But while Scotland was hosting talks on open markets, its own government continues to close off a core tenet of liberal democracy: the freedom to speak — even, in some cases, to silently pray.
In April 2024, Scotland enacted the Hate Crime and Public Order Act, which criminalizes words that amount to subjectively “stirring up hatred” based on a wide range of characteristics, such as someone’s “gender identity.” One may be found guilty of using the wrong words even if offence was only taken, but not intended. The consequences include up to seven years in prison.
Legal scholars, writers, and civil liberties groups have raised serious concerns. The law invites the state to police not just conduct but private expression — even within a family home. What was once a proud tradition of robust, even unpopular debate, is being eroded in favor of subjective standards of offense.
Meanwhile, new legislation in Scotland has imposed “buffer zones” around hospitals, vaguely criminalizing “influence” on the matter of abortion within 200 meters of the building. That radius can encompass private homes. <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/02/26/praying-at-home-a-crime-depending-on-who-is-passing-window/">According</a> to the law’s own architect, Gillian Mackay MSP, a person praying silently near a window in their home could be guilty of a crime, “depending on who’s passing the window.”
One recent case under a similar “buffer zones” law across the English border drew international attention: Livia Tossici-Bolt, aged 62-years-old, was arrested simply for standing with a sign reading “Here to talk, if you want.” She was not disruptive. She was not loud. She simply offered consensual conversation to other adults.
The U.S. State Department <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/us/news/2025/03/31/free-speech-row-threatens-starmers-us-trade-deal/">took notice</a>. A senior official confirmed “concern” about the state of free speech in the UK, adding, “It is important that the UK respect and protect freedom of expression.”
Vice President JD Vance raised similar concerns in his landmark speech at the Munich Security Conference earlier this year, even highlighting Scotland’ notorious prayer problem, noting, “free speech, I fear, is in retreat.” Who can blame him? In the UK, police are <a href="https://www.economist.com/britain/2025/05/15/britains-police-are-restricting-speech-in-worrying-ways">arresting</a> over 30 people per day for <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/meet-the-people-around-the-world-on-trial-for-a-tweet?author=Lois+McLatchie+Miller&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Meet+The+People+Around+The+World+On+Trial+For+A+Tweet%C2%A0">online posts</a> deemed offensive.
Such statements reflect a growing discomfort with what appears to be a widening values gap between the U.K. and its allies. Free societies are built not just on GDP and diplomatic summits, but on the intangible infrastructure of liberty — the right to live and speak freely, according to one’s own conscience. Trade flows best when rooted in mutual trust, shared principles, and the confidence that citizens on both sides of the Atlantic are protected by the same basic freedoms.
The U.K. cannot credibly advocate for open markets while tolerating closed discourse. A nation cannot speak loudly on the world stage while silencing its citizens at home. If Britain wishes to remain a trusted partner in the transatlantic alliance — not just economically but morally — it must reaffirm its commitment to the freedoms that define liberal democracy.
No ally is perfect. But the U.K. must meet the standards it helped to set. Free trade among free nations requires more than signed agreements. It requires trust in mutual political courage to protect liberty where it is most easily lost: quietly, at home.

Flashback to September 2018.
That’s when President Donald Trump stood before the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/united-nations">United Nations</a> and warned Germany about the dangers of becoming addicted to Russian energy.
In response, the <a href="https://www.c-span.org/clip/white-house-event/germans-laugh-after-trump-warns-of-reliance-on-foreign-oil/5029974">German delegation laughed</a> in his face. They scoffed. The global press rolled their eyes. Trump, they said, didn’t understand how the world worked.
Fast forward to 2025: those same European leaders are preparing to cut a <a href="https://www.foxbusiness.com/energy/eu-ditch-russia-agrees-purchase-750b-american-energy-supplies">$750 billion check</a> for American energy – as a result of President Trump’s deal-making.
Who’s laughing now?
The energy investment is a centerpiece of <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/fact-sheets/2025/07/fact-sheet-the-united-states-and-european-union-reach-massive-trade-deal/">the trade agreement</a> reached between Washington and Brussels on Sunday. The deal isn’t just a seismic shift in European policy — it’s a vindication of Trump’s America First vision. It is also a humiliating rebuke of the Biden administration’s energy failures. While Biden spent four years kneecapping American producers and begging hostile foreign actors for help, Trump was laying the groundwork for energy dominance.
Now, the world is willing to pay for it — literally.
<h3>Biden Begged For Foreign Oil</h3>
Let’s not forget the image that defined Biden’s energy policy: the President of the United States traveling to Saudi Arabia, <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/business/2022/jul/18/oil-price-rises-joe-biden-saudi-output-petrol-diesel-prices">fist-bumping the crown prince</a>, and pleading for more oil. Not only did the Saudis say no, they mocked him by cutting production just months later.
Even worse, Biden’s administration reportedly <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2022/10/13/biden-admin-asked-saudi-arabia-to-postpone-opec-cut-by-a-month-saudis-say.html">begged the Saudis</a> to delay that production cut until after the 2022 midterms — because keeping gas prices low wasn’t about helping Americans, it was about helping Democrats stay in power.
All Biden had to do was unleash American energy. But he couldn’t. His green agenda wouldn’t allow it. He blocked drilling, shut down pipelines, and <a href="https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/biden-pauses-approval-new-lng-export-projects-win-climate-activists-2024-01-26/">froze LNG exports</a>. He made it harder to produce energy here, so we had to buy it from over there.
President Trump’s deal flips the script. Instead of American dollars flowing to foreign regimes, European money is now flowing to the U.S. This isn’t diplomacy through weakness — it’s dominance through strength. President Trump didn’t have to beg because he knows how to lead.
<h3>A Boon To The American Economy</h3>
This $750 billion deal is more than just a geopolitical win — it’s rocket fuel for the American economy. More domestic energy production means more high-paying jobs, more local prosperity, and more opportunities in towns that the Biden economy left behind.
While Biden shut down LNG export projects, Trump is cranking the valves wide open. American energy workers aren’t waiting for a government subsidy — they’re producing real energy the world needs.
Let’s also not ignore Europe’s glaring hypocrisy. In 2024, the European Union spent nearly <a href="https://energyandcleanair.org/publication/eu-imports-of-russian-fossil-fuels-in-third-year-of-invasion-surpass-financial-aid-sent-to-ukraine/">€22 billion on Russian energy</a> — more than the €18.7 billion they gave Ukraine in aid. So, while they waved Ukrainian flags and tried to shame America, they were still funding Putin’s war machine. Now, thanks to President Trump, those Euros will come to American producers instead of Moscow’s war chest. It&#8217;s not just an energy shift — it&#8217;s a moral one.
<h3>Fueling The Fight Against The Deficit</h3>
There’s another upside Biden’s team never understood: when America produces energy, America generates revenue. According to the Government Accountability Office (GAO), the federal government <a href="https://www.gao.gov/products/gao-24-103676">took in over $16 billion</a> in <a href="https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/us-federal-energy-revenue-falls-10-2024-still-among-biggest-years-ever-2024-11-08/">just one year</a> from oil and gas leases and royalties.
Trump’s deal promises to supercharge those numbers. More production means more revenue — without raising taxes on a single American family. It’s simple math: energy made here, sold abroad, grows our economy and shrinks our deficit. No gimmicks. No IRS expansion. Just common sense.
Perhaps the most staggering contrast between Biden and President Trump’s EU deal comes down to this: where the money is going.
Under Biden, the federal government <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/08/11/biden-regrets-calling-spending-bill-inflation-reduction-act/">dumped $369 billion </a>of your tax dollars into green energy pipe dreams — Chinese solar panels, offshore wind disasters, and EV charger projects that never got built.
Under Trump? He just secured more than double that amount — $750 billion — in foreign investment in American energy. No taxpayer gimmicks. No dependence on Beijing. Just American energy, made by American workers, powering the world again.
Yes, it’s safe to say the German delegation isn’t laughing anymore. But thanks to Donald Trump, they’ll have plenty of American natural gas to keep them warm through the winter.

President Donald Trump confirmed on Tuesday that Secret Service Director Sean Curran is addressing what could have been a major security breach after an agent attempted to sneak his wife aboard a transport plane accompanying the president to Scotland.
The incident was first <a href="https://x.com/susancrabtree/status/1949206006178689488">reported</a> by RealClearPolitics National Political Correspondent Susan Crabtree over the weekend. The USSS Dallas agent reportedly flew his wife, a member of the U.S. Air Force, to Maryland, and she received an official Secret Service briefing on the trip. The agent&#8217;s wife then rode a bus to the distinguished visitor lounge at Joint Base Andrews, where she was finally discovered and told to leave, Crabtree reported, citing five Secret Service sources.
Trump told reporters on Air Force One on his way back to the United States on Tuesday that the Secret Service incident was a &#8220;weird deal,&#8221; <a href="https://x.com/PhilipWegmann/status/1950256824760095065">according</a> to RealClearPolitics White House reporter Phillip Melancthon Wegmann.
&#8220;Wouldn&#8217;t you think that might be a little dangerous?&#8221; Trump added.
The president said that he had confidence Director Curran would &#8220;take care of it.&#8221;
The agent who attempted to bring his wife along for the president&#8217;s trip to Europe is reportedly in his first year on the job, which means he is still a new trainee, <a href="https://x.com/susancrabtree/status/1949884512944738670">according</a> to RealClearPolitics. The agent has reportedly been in trouble before, as he was written up for misconduct on several occasions while completing his preliminary training at the Rowley Training Center.
Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said that the agency has opened an investigation into the incident.
&#8220;Prior to the overseas departure, the employee was advised by supervisors that such action was prohibited, and the spouse was subsequently prevented from taking the flight,&#8221; Gugliemi added. &#8220;No Secret Service protectees were aboard and there was no impact to our overseas protective operations.”
It&#8217;s unclear if the agent has been suspended as the Secret Service conducts an investigation or if he is still on the job.
The Secret Service has faced public scrutiny for months following the assassination attempt on Trump last July, when a shooter climbed onto a roof near the rally stage in Butler, Pennsylvania, and fired off eight shots before he was shot and killed by Secret Service snipers. Questions still swirl around how the shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was able to get so close to Trump with a rifle without being stopped by Trump&#8217;s detail.
Weeks later, Secret Service agents sprang into action to stop an apparent assassination attempt on Trump at his golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida.
While Trump was in Scotland, security around him was forced to tighten as demonstrators in Aberdeen and Edinburgh gathered to protest his visit to the country, according to the <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/ckg4210lygko">BBC</a>.

‘A Weird Deal’: Secret Service Agent On Trump’s Detail Tried To Sneak Wife Onto Plane To Scotland

WASHINGTON—When President Donald Trump returns from Scotland, he&#8217;ll have plenty to show for his visit.
The White House is touting the &#8220;peace deals and trade deals&#8221; the president negotiated during his trip to the United Kingdom, including a major trade agreement with the European Union and a crucial truce between Thailand and Cambodia.
The trade deal with the European Union will &#8220;provide Americans with unprecedented levels of market access to the European Union,&#8221; the White House said Monday afternoon, noting that it rebalances the economic relationship between the two countries, &#8220;marks a generational modernization of the transatlantic alliance.&#8221;
White House Assistant Press Secretary Taylor Rogers told The Daily Wire that the president is on a &#8220;winning streak&#8221; in Scotland.
&#8220;From peace deals to trade deals, this President has proven to be the ultimate negotiator and Deal Maker in Chief on behalf of the American people.&#8221;
Under the terms of the deal, the United States and European Union reached a Cooperation Agreement on Reciprocal, Fair and Balanced Trade, enabling American farmers, ranchers, fishermen, and manufacturers to increase their exports and expand their opportunities as well as reduce the goods trade deficit with the European Union.
The EU will also remove &#8220;significant&#8221; tariffs on American goods, and the White House specifically notes that this includes EU tariffs on American industrial goods exported to the EU — &#8220;creating enormous opportunities for American-made and American-grown goods to compete and win in Europe.&#8221; The White House predicts that this will drive growth across the American economy.
The European Union will purchase $750 billion of United States energy exports during the duration of the president&#8217;s time in office, strengthening American energy dominance and reducing Europe&#8217;s reliance on Russia. The EU will also invest $600 billion in the United States throughout the president&#8217;s term, in addition to over $100 billion invested in the United States every year by EU companies.
Also, during his British travels, the president negotiated a ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia.

&#8220;Congratulations to all! By ending this War, we have saved thousands of lives. I have instructed my Trade Team to restart negotiations on Trade. I have now ended many Wars in just six months — I am proud to be the President of PEACE!&#8221;
Trump had warned both parties that he would not make any trade deals with either country if they continued warring with one another.
&#8220;We happen to be, by coincidence, currently dealing on Trade with both Countries, but do not want to make any Deal, with either Country, if they are fighting — And I have told them so!&#8221; the president said in a TruthSocial post on Saturday.
Speaking to the press alongside British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Scotland on Monday, Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-shortens-initial-50-day-deadline-for-putin-to-reach-peace-deal-with-ukraine?author=Zach+Jewell&amp;category=undefined&amp;elementPosition=11&amp;row=3&amp;rowHeadline=Latest+News&amp;rowType=Vertical+Carousel&amp;title=Trump+Shortens+Initial+50-Day+Deadline+For+Putin+To+Reach+Peace+Deal+With+Ukraine">emphasized</a> that he is “disappointed” with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump said he will reduce the 50-day deadline he gave Putin two weeks ago, complaining that every time there appears to be progress, Russia launches another attack on Ukraine.
“We thought we had that settled numerous times, and then President Putin goes out and starts launching rockets into some city, like Kyiv, and kills a lot of people in a nursing home or whatever,&#8221; Trump said Monday. &#8220;You have bodies lying all over the street. And I said, ‘That’s not the way to do it.&#8217;”
“I’m going to make the new deadline of about 10 or 12 days from today. There’s no reason in waiting,” he added. “We just don’t see any progress being made.”
He also addressed the situation in Gaza, promising that the United States will provide food to children in the area. The president told <a href="https://x.com/Acyn/status/1949804079187927359">reporters that he does</a> &#8220;not particularly&#8221; agree with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu&#8217;s <a href="https://x.com/kenvogel/status/1949810126451335514">claim</a> that no starvation is happening in Gaza, saying: &#8220;Those children look very hungry.&#8221;
&#8220;We&#8217;re gonna be getting some good, strong food,&#8221; the president noted. &#8220;We can save a lot of people. Those kids — that&#8217;s real starvation. I see it. You can&#8217;t fake that.&#8221;

President Donald Trump said Sunday that not a single wind turbine would be built in the United States under his administration.
Trump pummeled the green energy source for its inefficiency and risks to the environment, and he pointed out that the market for wind turbines is dominated by one of the United States’ chief geopolitical adversaries, China. He called the wind industry a “con job.”
“The other thing I say to Europe, we will not allow a windmill to be built in the United States. They&#8217;re killing us. They&#8217;re killing the beauty of our scenery, our valleys, our beautiful plains,” Trump told reporters on Sunday. “It&#8217;s the most expensive form of energy. It&#8217;s no good. They&#8217;re made in China, almost all of them.”
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen sat beside the president during his attack on wind energy. Von der Leyen, who is from Germany, has supported wind energy and renewables generally as her country’s energy prices have <a href="https://www.heritage.org/renewable-energy/commentary/germans-are-getting-mugged-reality-green-energy">skyrocketed</a> under its “Energiewende,” an attempt to transition Germany’s power grid from fossil fuels and nuclear energy to renewables.
“In all fairness, Germany tried it, and wind doesn&#8217;t work. You need subsidy for wind, and energy should not need subsidy. With energy you make money, you don&#8217;t lose money,” said Trump.

Trump appeared especially aggravated at wind turbines on Sunday after he played a round of golf at his Turnberry Golf Club in Scotland. He mentioned that he was able to see a cluster of nine turbines from his course that ruined the view.
“You have the same thing all over, all over Europe, in particular. You have windmills all over the place,” said Trump. “Some of the countries prohibit it, but people ought to know that these windmills are very destructive. They’re environmentally unsound.”
The president called environmentalists pushing for widespread adoption of wind energy “hacks.”
Trump’s dislike of wind turbines dates back over a decade when, before his career in politics began, he engaged in a high-profile fight to keep wind turbines from appearing offshore in sight from another of his Scottish golf courses, Trump International Scotland near Aberdeen. 
In 2011, Trump in a letter <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-north-east-orkney-shetland-14923612">complained</a> to then-Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond about the plans to erect the wind turbines. Trump called the planned project an “ugly cloud … hanging over the future of the great Scottish coastline.”
