Thursday night, former <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/obama-administration" target="_blank" rel="noopener">President Barack Obama</a> made a dig at Georgia&#8217;s GOP Senate candidate <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/herschel-walker" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Herschel Walker</a> by comparing him to an all-too-familiar &#8220;Uncle Joe&#8221; who says &#8220;crazy stuff&#8221; and is given no &#8220;serious responsibilities.&#8221;
This author&#8217;s knee-jerk conclusion was that Obama made a Freudian slip and was unwittingly describing the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-can-blame-senility-but-whats-kamalas-excuse" target="_blank" rel="noopener">possibly-senile President Joe Biden</a>. That was a naive conclusion for several reasons.
For context, here is the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/freudian-slip-obama-talks-about-crazy-uncle-joe-not-having-any-serious-responsibilities-during-warnock-campaign-rally" target="_blank" rel="noopener">relevant portion</a> of the quote:
“We all know some folks in our lives, who we don’t wish them ill will. They say crazy stuff and we’re all like, ‘Well, Uncle Joe, you know what happened to him.&#8217; They’re part of the family, but you don’t give them serious responsibilities.”

Upon further review, there is no way that Obama’s &#8220;crazy&#8221; &#8220;Uncle Joe&#8221; comment was an accident in Georgia.
Why?
Well, to start off, Obama is the greatest fraud ever foisted onto the American public. Biden is a close second, albeit for different reasons.
If media reports are to be believed, the American public knows that Biden wasn&#8217;t Obama&#8217;s <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2022/09/12/biden-obama-complicated-friendship-00056044" target="_blank" rel="noopener">first choice</a> in either 2016 or 2020. He reportedly told fellow Democrats to never underestimate Biden&#8217;s ability to &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/international-disorder-biden-is-a-remarkably-bad-negotiator-and-doesnt-understand-how-the-world-works" target="_blank" rel="noopener">f*** things up</a>.&#8221;
As others have said, Biden&#8217;s time in office has been <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/joe-biden-obama-great-recession-unemployment-tax-regulation-burkhauser-corinth-holtz-eakin-11628632460" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Obama&#8217;s third term</a>. If the 44th president isn&#8217;t calling the shots directly, Biden&#8217;s staff is certainly littered with allies of the Left-wing president who are implementing the radical agenda that he started back in 2008.
Obama, for his part, likely feels comfortable enjoying his millions in Martha&#8217;s Vineyard because he knows the presidency is in good hands — just not &#8220;crazy&#8221; Uncle Joe&#8217;s.
Obama, of course, also campaigned on making sure the rich pay their fair share and that those taxes trickle down to the common man, but now he seems content to keep the progressive base at bay to avoid implementing said socialist plans — again, he&#8217;s a major huckster.
So while the &#8220;Dreams From My Father&#8221; author might smack the back of Biden and call him a dear old friend, that isn&#8217;t really the case. Anybody who has been paying attention understands that those in charge of the Democrat Party view Biden as a useful idiot.
To steal a phrase from Obama, Biden has been given no &#8220;serious responsibilities&#8221; in office.
He has no real vision for the country — beyond spouting off about the &#8220;soul of America.&#8221; Yet the current president has proven to be remarkably effective, chiefly by using executive orders.
As you read this, there is currently a massive redistribution of wealth via Biden-mandated racial equity initiatives designed to unleash a &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/thanks-to-biden-our-nations-top-science-research-just-got-a-whole-lot-more-woke" target="_blank" rel="noopener">total transformation of government</a>.&#8221;
Does anybody seriously believe that Biden thought of that plan himself or even conceived the idea?
As many Daily Wire commenters pointed out, Obama is the same guy who infamously said during the 2008 presidential race, &#8220;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuizXVoY2bc" target="_blank" rel="noopener">You can put lipstick on a pig, but it&#8217;s still a pig</a>&#8221; while discussing his Republican opponents. The then-Democratic nominee made his comments roughly a week after GOP nominee Senator John McCain (R-AZ) had announced Governor Sarah Palin (R-AK) as his running mate.
Many people took it as a sexist attack, but the Obama campaign completely denied it was about Palin. Nonetheless, the reaction from the crowd at the time seemed to indicate that they were all in on the joke. Palin is a pig with lipstick, haha!
Meanwhile, Obama pretended he was too classy to ever say such a thing.
That brings us to the final reason why Obama could not possibly have slipped up while discussing &#8220;crazy&#8221; &#8220;Uncle Joe.&#8221;
He is a remarkably good politician who doesn&#8217;t make mistakes while revving up a crowd. That is one of the reasons why he, not Biden, is out on the campaign trail for Warnock.
Obama is a smooth operator and understands the power of language. Thus, his comments Thursday night served as a message to independent voters.
Warnock doesn&#8217;t really agree with Biden 96% of the time because Biden isn&#8217;t in charge. Warnock and the Democratic Party are in control. The president is just along for the ride so he can enjoy his golden years gallivanting around and eating all the ice cream he wants. The con that the Dems are pulling on the American people is all one big laugh, it appears.
Listeners get the sense that Obama&#8217;s real closing message in Georgia is if you don&#8217;t like Uncle Joe in the White House, don&#8217;t worry. He&#8217;s like those crazy uncles who are &#8220;part of the family, but you don’t give them serious responsibilities.&#8221; He just didn&#8217;t have to say that explicitly because everybody is in on the joke.
What a calculating phony.

Alaska&#8217;s ranked-choice voting system could lead to uncertainty and delays following the midterm elections, and the winners of some races could be unknown for several weeks.
Ranked-choice voting was approved by the state&#8217;s voters in the 2020 election. In the system, all voters receive the same ballot, regardless of the voter&#8217;s political affiliation. All candidates are listed on the same ballot.
Instead of voting for a single candidate for each office, voters rank all the candidates for a particular office based on preference, <a href="https://apnews.com/article/alaska-ranked-choice-voting-5ae6c163af2f8a70a8f90928267c4086">according</a> to the Associated Press.
If a single candidate receives at least 50% of first place votes, that candidate is declared the winner. If no single candidate receives at least 50% of the total first-place votes, the candidate with the least amount of votes gets eliminated and a second round commences. If the eliminated candidate was a voter&#8217;s top choice, then the voter&#8217;s second-place choice gets their vote in the second round.
In Alaska&#8217;s ranked-choice system, the rounds continue until there are two candidates left. The candidate with the most votes at the end of that round is the winner of the election. The second round of counting for Alaska&#8217;s elections will take place on November 23.
Critics argue the system is confusing and can lead to less popular candidates winning.
The first round of the Alaska Senate race included three GOP candidates and one Democrat, as the ranked-choice system included the top four frontrunners from the primary held in August. Trump-endorsed Republican Kelly Tshibaka currently leads with 44.48% of the vote and incumbent Sen. Lisa Murkowski follows at 43% with an estimated 70% of the vote counted, <a href="https://results.decisiondeskhq.com/national/2022-senate" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to</a> Decision Desk HQ.
Democrat Patricia Chesbro is currently third with just 9.57% of the votes, followed by GOP candidate Buzz Kelley at 2.94%.
The election is decisively Republican at over 90% of the total votes, but the ranked-choice system is making the final decision more complicated. If no single candidate receives at least 50% of the votes, the election will move to the next round.
In the Senate, Republicans are confident that either Tshibaka or Murkowski will win due to their large margin over other candidates. Some are concerned that Murkowski, who voted to convict former President Donald Trump after the events of January 6, could defeat her opponent due to being more moderate and picking up more second-place votes from Democrats.
Alaska also included a House race for the state&#8217;s only congressional seat. An August special election to replace the late Rep. Don Young that utilized the state&#8217;s ranked-choice system ended in defeat for Republicans.
In that election, Democrat Mary Peltola received 40% of votes, Republican Sarah Palin received 31%, and fellow Republican Nick Begich got 28% in the first round. Since no single candidate received at least half of the votes, the top two candidates, Peltola and Palin, remained, and in the second round the votes that ranked Begich as the first choice were redistributed among those votes&#8217; second choice picks. Peltola then defeated Palin 51.5% to 48.5%.
Peltola became the first Democrat to represent Alaska in the House in a half-century despite receiving less than half of the state&#8217;s first place votes.
In the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/democrat-mary-peltola-republican-sarah-palin-alaska-house-election-outcome-uncertain-in-ranked-choice-vote" target="_blank" rel="noopener">results</a> from Tuesday&#8217;s election, Peltola currently leads with 47.34% of the vote (101,236), with Palin at 26.66% (57,005), Begich at 24.27% (51,896), and Libertarian Chris Bye at 1.74% (3,716). An estimated 70% of the votes have been counted so far, <a href="https://results.decisiondeskhq.com/national/2022-house" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to</a> Decision Desk HQ. Republicans are currently combined for 50.93% of the overall votes.
Peltola could win again unless the GOP&#8217;s &#8220;rank the red&#8221; strategy was successful. Following the party&#8217;s August loss, both Palin and Begich emphasized voting for their Republican opponent as a second choice to keep a Democrat out of Congress.
The situation was even <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/republican-sen-murkowski-says-she-will-vote-for-democrat-running-against-sarah-palin" target="_blank" rel="noopener">more complicated</a> after Murkowski said she planned to vote for Peltola, a Democrat, as her first choice. Peltola later confirmed she was also planning to select Murkowski as her first choice.
The election for the state&#8217;s governor is shaping up to be far clearer. Incumbent Republican Governor Mike Dunleavy could <a href="https://results.decisiondeskhq.com/national/2022-governor" target="_blank" rel="noopener">win</a> in the first round, currently holding 52.17% of the total vote. If his percentage remains at 50% or above, it will allow him to avoid a runoff and secure his re-election.

With her win, Peltola became the state’s first indigenous person elected to Congress. She has <a href="https://www.marypeltola.com/my-policies">campaigned</a> on fighting climate change, strengthening affordable health care, increasing abortion rights, and defending the LGBTQ Equality Act.
The August win came as a shock to many Alaskans. Palin was endorsed by former President Donald Trump in the race and spent four times the amount of money spent by the Peltola campaign, <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2022/08/31/democrat-peltola-beats-palin-in-alaska-special-election-upset-00054428">according</a> to Politico.
Republicans have controlled the House in the state for decades, with Young serving nearly 50 years in his role prior to his death. Trump also defeated President Joe Biden by 10 points in Alaska in 2020.
The final outcome of the ranked-choice vote was not announced until August 31, a full two weeks after the election. The timeline in the general election may be similar, with the winner unknown for up to two weeks.
In addition to Peltola and Palin, Begich was again on the November general ballot, this time joined by Libertarian Chris Bye.
After the August special election, Palin and Begich both called for one another to drop out of the race to help secure a victory. Neither candidate would do so, leading to a new strategy. The party then moved to a new &#8220;rank the red&#8221; emphasis for the general election.
“This is the rule of the road now. We have ranked-choice voting, and until that’s gone, we have to rank the red,&#8221; Palin said, <a href="https://alaskapublic.org/2022/10/10/palin-and-begich-both-say-rank-the-red-while-diverging-in-style/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to</a> Alaska Public Media.
Both Palin and Begich have encouraged voters to mark their ballots with both GOP candidates as one and two to ensure a Republican wins.

Like her friend Peltola, Murkowski strongly supports abortion rights and even <a href="https://www.murkowski.senate.gov/press/release/-murkowski-reiterates-strong-support-for-codification-of-roe-v-wade-" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pushed</a> to codify Roe v. Wade. The senator also famously joined former Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME), and Senate Democrats to <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/senate-gop-effort-repeal-obamacare-fails-n787311" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stop</a> a Republican attempt at repealing Obamacare in 2017, dealing a huge blow to the Trump administration in its first year.
The Alaska senator, who will also be on the ballot next month, stood by her support of a Democratic candidate in a red state during a contentious election cycle.
“I know that bothers some people who want me to be that rigid, partisan person, and I’m just not. I’m not, haven’t been, and I won’t be,” Murkowski said. “I do not toe the party line just because party leaders have asked or because it may be expected. My first obligation is to the people of the state of Alaska.”

Alaska Republican House candidates Sarah Palin and Nick Begich continue to attack one another while urging voters to &#8220;rank the red&#8221; to ensure the GOP wins in the state&#8217;s ranked-choice vote.
Democrat Mary Peltola won an August special election under the new system despite winning just 40% of the preliminary vote, a concern both Palin and Begich hope to avoid in November.
“I had to swallow my pride, because here I am saying, ‘These are the cards that we’ve been dealt,&#8217;” Palin said, <a href="https://alaskapublic.org/2022/10/10/palin-and-begich-both-say-rank-the-red-while-diverging-in-style/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to</a> Alaska Public Media. “This is the rule of the road now. We have ranked-choice voting, and until that’s gone, we have to rank the red.”

The move proved harmful for the party, with both GOP candidates seeking to improve in the general election that will determine the state&#8217;s House member for the next two years.
Begich and Palin have now both asked supporters to vote for their Republican opponent as the second person on their ballot in the effort to return Alaska to conservative leadership.

The Alaskan race could also have a key impact on the balance of power in the House. Democrats currently hold the majority with a slight advantage, but numerous polls predict a red wave of GOP wins that could flip the lead to Republicans.

Former Alaska Republican Governor Sarah Palin has called on her fellow GOP House candidate Nick Begich to drop out of the November midterm race.
Palin made the plea during a Monday news conference following a loss to Democrat Mary Peltola in the state&#8217;s special House election to replace Republican Rep. Don Young, who passed away earlier this year.
Palin and Begich combined to take 60% of the vote, yet Peltola was declared the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/sarah-palin-loses-to-democrat-mary-peltola-in-special-u-s-house-election" target="_blank" rel="noopener">winner</a> due to taking the most votes in the state&#8217;s new ranked-choice vote system.
All three candidates will again face off in the November midterm election, where Palin and Begich could again divide the conservative vote and leave a Democrat in office for the next two years. Palin urged Begich to step down to clear the path for her to receive at least 50% of the vote and avoid the loss she endured in August.
“He keeps calling me a quitter,” Palin said during the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=426992799501883" target="_blank" rel="noopener">news conference</a> outside her Wasilla home. “Now he wants me, the one who is clearly the only true conservative in this race who can win, he wants me to quit! Begich&#8217;s campaign responded that he does not intend to drop out of the Alaska House race.
“We are confident that we are on a positive trajectory to win in November,” Begich <a href="https://mustreadalaska.com/palin-lashes-out-at-reporters-demands-nick-begich-resign-from-congressional-race-immediately/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. “Ranked choice voting showed that Palin simply doesn’t have enough support from Alaskans to win an election and her performance in the Special was embarrassing as a former Governor and Vice Presidential candidate. Pollsters have been telling us for months that Sarah Palin cannot win a statewide race because her unfavorable rating is so high. These same polls have consistently shown that Alaskans are looking for a less polarizing alternative.”
The fellow GOP candidate&#8217;s statement claimed he has continued to increase his percentage of the vote and that the election comes down to a choice between himself and Peltola.
“I have introduced myself to Alaskans, I have steadily increased my percentage of the vote since the June 11 Special Primary election. I will continue traveling the state, making the case that this election is about a choice between Mary Peltola and Nick Begich,” he said in a statement.

&#8220;Ranked-choice voting was sold as the way to make elections better reflect the will of the people,&#8221; Palin said in a statement. &#8220;As Alaska — and America — now sees, the exact opposite is true.&#8221;
Palin&#8217;s loss became clear Wednesday night, two weeks after voters went to the polls in the first-ever ranked-choice voting election in the state, which uses an electoral system that allows voters to rank candidates by preference on their ballots in rounds. A candidate can win outright with more than 50% of the vote in the first round.
If no candidate receives at least half of the votes, the lowest-ranking candidate is eliminated. Voters who chose the lowest-ranking candidate as their top pick have their votes count for their second-ranked choice. The rounds continue until two candidates remain, with the victory going to the candidate with the most votes in the final rank.
Palin argues the voting system effectively disenfranchised 60% of Alaska voters, considering Peltola won the state&#8217;s House special election with only 40% of first-place votes in the initial count.
&#8220;The people of Alaska do not want the destructive democrat agenda to rule our land and our lives, but that&#8217;s what resulted from someone&#8217;s experiment with this new crazy, convoluted, confusing ranked-choice voting system,&#8221; Palin said.
On Thursday morning, NBC News <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2022-election/sarah-palins-election-loss-sen-tom-cotton-calls-ranked-choice-voting-s-rcna45834">reports</a> that Peltola defeated Palin 51.5% to 48.5%, with 93% of votes counted in the ranked-choice results.
Alaska Division of Elections website said the system benefits voters.
&#8220;By ranking multiple candidates, you can still have a voice in who gets elected even if your top choice does not win,&#8221; according to the division&#8217;s <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.elections.alaska.gov/RCV.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">website</a>. &#8220;Ranking multiple candidates ensures your vote will go toward your second, third, fourth, or fifth choice if your top choice is eliminated, giving you more voice in who wins.&#8221;
Political consultant Sarah Erkmann Ward pointed to Wednesday&#8217;s results as a &#8220;big wake-up call to Republicans&#8221; for how they should vote under the new ranked-choice system.
&#8220;Today&#8217;s reels should illustrate to Republicans very clearly that when they choose not to rank, there&#8217;s a good possibility that when their favorite candidate is eliminated, then their vote will no longer be in the mix,” she said, according to the Anchorage Daily News. &#8220;That appears to be what happened here.&#8221;
&#8220;A certain segment of Republicans elected not to rank,&#8221; she added. &#8220;That&#8217;s the consequence of not continuing on down your ballot.&#8221;
Peltola&#8217;s victory comes after Rep. Don Young, a Republican who filled the state&#8217;s only seat for nearly 50 years, died in March. While Peltola defeated Palin in the special House race to immediately fill the congressional seat left open, the two will meet again in November for an election that will determine who gets the position for the full two-year term.
&#8220;Though we&#8217;re disappointed in this outcome, Alaskans know I&#8217;m the last one who&#8217;ll ever retreat,” Palin said. &#8220;Instead, I&#8217;m going to reload.&#8221;
The Trump-endorsed candidate said she would learn from the &#8220;voting system mistake&#8221; in the next election to bolster the America First conservative movement and &#8220;clean up the mess that Joe Biden and the radical democrats&#8221; created.

The <a href="https://www.cnn.com/election/2022/results/alaska/primaries" target="_blank" rel="noopener">initial returns</a> of the House special election on August 16 showed Peltola with 39.7% of votes, Palin with 30.9%, and Begich with 27.8%.
Under the state&#8217;s new ranked-choice system, voted into place by Alaskans in 2020, Peltola&#8217;s “final rank” was 51.5% to Palin&#8217;s 48.5% in the results <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/sarah-palin-loses-to-democrat-mary-peltola-in-special-u-s-house-election" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> on Wednesday.
In the ranked-choice system, ballots are counted in rounds. A candidate can win outright with more than 50% of the vote in the first round.

For example, Palin and Begich emerged from a primary field of <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/sarah-palin-candidate-congress-special-election/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">more than 40 candidates</a>.
Both Alaska&#8217;s House seat and Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski face another election in November.
For Peltola&#8217;s part, the news was celebratory. Her win at the age of 49 comes after Young held the state&#8217;s seat for 49 years. She is also the state&#8217;s first Alaskan native and the first woman to be elected to the position.
“Alaskans have made clear they want a rational, steadfast, honest and caring voice speaking for them in Washington D.C., not opportunists and extremists associated with the Alaska Republican Party,” state Democratic party chair Michael Wenstrup said in a <a href="https://www.usnews.com/news/politics/articles/2022-08-31/special-election-results-expected-for-lone-alaska-house-seat" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a> following the win. The Democrat, a former state legislator, beat out Palin and one other Republican candidate, Nick Begich III, in a tight race.
With her victory, Peltola became the state’s first indigenous person elected to Congress. She has <a href="https://www.marypeltola.com/my-policies">campaigned</a> on fighting climate change, strengthening Obamacare, supporting abortion rights, and defending the leftist LGBTQ Equality Act.
After the votes were tallied and Begich III was in third place, his votes went to the voters’ second option, giving Peltola 51.5% to Palin’s 48.5%. Republican Nick Begich and another candidate will also advance along with Democrat Mary Peltola to make the state&#8217;s ranked-choice ballot.
“As we wrap up the first phase of a wild and crazy election season, I would like to thank these wonderful supporters for placing their trust in me to be a fierce and unapologetic advocate for the interests of all Alaskans! I promise I won’t let you down,&#8221; Palin shared in a <a href="https://sarahforalaska.com/sarah-palin-issues-statement-on-election-night/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a> early Wednesday morning.
&#8220;I will be honored to fight for Alaska against the ever-growing corruption in Washington, D.C. I’m especially grateful to everyone who volunteered to help campaign – you guys are the happy warriors who make campaigning fun, and it’s an honor working with you. I know you’ll have the stamina to stick with me on the campaign trail through November,&#8221; she added.
The House race and special election were placed side by side on Tuesday&#8217;s Alaska ballot as part of a special election to replace the remainder of Rep. Don Young&#8217;s (R-AK) term. Young died in March at the age of 88.
As The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-alaska-gop-congressman-don-young-passes-away-at-88" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>, Young had served in Congress since 1973, making him the longest-serving member of the House.
The special election ballot followed a June <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/alaska-congressional-race-down-to-three-as-palin-seeks-return-to-politics" target="_blank" rel="noopener">special election primary</a> that saw 48 contenders for the state&#8217;s only House seat. Palin’s battle to return to politics following a 13-year gap led to her becoming one of the final Republicans along with one Democrat to face off in Tuesday&#8217;s ranked-choice vote.
The winner of the ranked-choice special election is not yet known. Results may not be completed until as late as August 31.
The ranked-choice system is a first for the state. Alaska&#8217;s voters approved the new method by a ballot measure in 2020.
In addition to Palin advancing, both Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski and GOP challenger Kelly Tshibaka are projected to advance to the November ballot. The two leaders are among the top four that will advance among the race&#8217;s 18 primary candidates.
Murkowski faces a strong challenge to keep her seat after voting to impeach former President Donald Trump in 2021. Trump has endorsed Tshibaka, appearing with her in a July rally.
In the state&#8217;s gubernatorial race, Republican Governor Mike Dunleavy is projected to easily advance as well. Also projected to advance to the November ballot are former Independent Governor Bill Walker and Democrat Les Gara.
Tuesday also saw the fall of Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) in Wyoming&#8217;s primary. Cheney <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-liz-cheney-destroyed-in-wyoming-gop-primary-trump-responds" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lost</a> by a wide margin to Harriet Hageman, who was endorsed by former President Donald Trump.
With more than 95% of the votes counted, Hageman held over 66% of the vote while Cheney was only at 28.9%.

The Deep State&#8217;s raid — er, scratch that — the Department of Justice&#8217;s (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation&#8217;s (FBI) raid on former President Donald J. Trump&#8217;s Mar-a-Lago home shocked the nation Monday and sent a jolt into mid-term races across the land.
A new poll from Trafalgar Polling and Convention of States <a href="https://www.thetrafalgargroup.org/news/nat-issues-survey-fbi-raid-motivation-0810/">reveals</a> that 53.9% of independent voters, as well as 76.7% of Republican voters, believe Trump’s political enemies are behind the FBI raid. It was taken between August 9 and August 10 and surveyed roughly 1,000 likely voters. 
Furthermore, that same poll shows that the majority of Democratic, Republican, and independent voters alike say that the FBI raid has increased their motivation to vote in the 2022 election. For the GOP, 83.3% of respondents said the feds&#8217; search gave them extra reason to get out and vote this November.
By now, Republicans of all stripes have condemned the raid in varying degrees, with some expressing caution until more details are revealed while others claim it is more evidence that &#8220;the swamp&#8221; is out to get Trump at all costs.
Here&#8217;s a round-up of some reactions and other relevant mid-term news.
(B)Lake Of Fire In Arizona
Arizona GOP gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake has gone full scorched earth in her reaction to the raid. The America First candidate called for a complete overhaul of the federal government until we &#8220;can figure out what the hell is going on,&#8221; to borrow a phrase from Trump himself.
“This is one of the darkest days in American history: the day our Government, originally created by the people, turned against us,&#8221; Lake <a href="https://twitter.com/KariLake/status/1556808739281203200">tweeted</a>. &#8220;This illegitimate, corrupt Regime hates America and has weaponized the entirety of the Federal Government to take down President Donald Trump.”
Then, she added, “We must fire the Federal Government&#8221; and promised to fight &#8220;these Tyrants with every fiber of my being.&#8221;
The Trump-endorsed Lake secured Arizona&#8217;s GOP gubernatorial nomination and is running as an outsider. In a speech, she <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-backed-kari-lake-wins-gop-primary-in-arizona-governors-race">claimed</a> triumph over the &#8220;McCain machine&#8221; — an apparent reference and shot at the late Senator John McCain.
Lake is facing off against Secretary of State Katie Hobbs (D-AZ). The Cook Political Report <a href="https://www.cookpolitical.com/ratings/governor-race-ratings">rates</a> the Arizona gubernatorial race a toss-up.
GOP Senate candidate Blake Masters pointed out that his opponent, incumbent Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), hadn&#8217;t said one iota about the raid on Trump&#8217;s home.
&#8220;Why isn’t Mark Kelly saying anything??? Is he concerned about the politicization of the DOJ?&#8221; Masters <a href="https://twitter.com/bgmasters/status/1557168140550713344?s=20&amp;t=-VdVPOy6PRgmx3XFNAfbHA">tweeted</a>. &#8220;About Joe Biden persecuting his political opposition? As usual, silence from Mark Kelly, as he helps drag the country further in the wrong direction.&#8221;
Masters is currently behind in polling but gaining ground.
He has cut Kelly&#8217;s lead in half since July. The latest poll shows Masters trailing Kelly by five points, 49%-44%. The Republican firm Fabrizio, Lee &amp; Associates conducted the survey for America Next, a pro-Masters political action committee.
Granite State GOP Rock Solid In Condemning Raid 
In New Hampshire, at least three GOP candidates running for Senate against incumbent Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH) have condemned Monday&#8217;s raid.
“Whenever Democrats get desperate &amp; low in the polls they decide to investigate President Trump,&#8221; Chuck Morse, the Republican president of the New Hampshire Senate, <a href="https://www.chuckmorsefornh.com/press/morse-statement-on-raid-targeting-president-trump">said</a>.
The Republican Senate candidate also harangued the Biden administration for having &#8220;enough on their plate&#8221; with open borders, increased drug trafficking, and rising crime rates without being used for &#8220;political prosecutions.&#8221; He went on to claim that such &#8220;over the top show of power stunts&#8221; are &#8220;designed in part to distract and intimidate&#8221; and &#8220;need to stop.&#8221;
Morse warned that the FBI raid was a &#8220;foreshadowing&#8221; of what the Democrats&#8217; proposed 87,000 new IRS agents could signal for New Hampshire families.
Many have been asking, &#8220;Where&#8217;s Hunter?&#8221; But Kevin Smith, the former director of a conservative advocacy group, is essentially asking, &#8216;When is the FBI going to raid Hunter?&#8217;
Smith, also seeking the Senate GOP nomination, <a href="https://twitter.com/TeamSmithforNH/status/1556809369978904576?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">tweeted</a> that the raid was a &#8220;complete abuse of power&#8221; and accused the FBI of &#8220;burying evidence on Hunter Biden’s blatant corruption.&#8221;
Smith says the answer to the FBI&#8217;s probe is another investigation into &#8220;politicized government agencies.&#8221;
And then there&#8217;s Don Bolduc, a retired general considered the frontrunner in this so-far sleepy race.  He said he would be concerned if the raid had happened to any former president, including a Democrat, let alone The Don.
&#8220;I think I&#8217;m like millions of Americans right now, wondering what&#8217;s going on,&#8221; Bolduc <a href="https://www.iheart.com/podcast/139-new-hampshire-today-with-j-27984874/episode/8-9-don-bolduc-candidate-for-senate-100702331/">said</a> on the radio show New Hampshire Today. &#8220;If there&#8217;s documents there that needed to be seized, fine, but there should have been a different process for this. This is a former president.&#8221;
Bolduc&#8217;s last name is French and likely derived from the term &#8220;bolduc&#8221; meaning ribbon or thread. Depending on how Granite State voters take his comments, he could be first across the finish line ribbon, or barely hang on by a thread.
Deja Vu All Over Again In Michigan
Tudor Dixon, the Republican nominee for governor, responded to news of the FBI raid by accusing current Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) and President Biden of weaponizing law enforcement against their political opponents.
&#8220;Biden raids President Trump’s home. Whitmer illegally prosecuted her predecessor &amp; continues to go after him &amp; his staff,&#8221; Dixon tweeted, referring to the prosecution of former Michigan GOP Governor Rick Snyder over the Flint water crisis. &#8220;Shameful abuse of power, contemptuous of American principles,&#8221; she <a href="https://twitter.com/TudorDixon/status/1556836096440471552">added</a>.

It would appear that Michigan&#8217;s Democratic Attorney General Dana Nessel apparently likes the idea of using government power to go after political opponents.
Nessel is <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2022/08/07/michigan-attorney-general-special-prosecutor-trump-00050244">asking</a> for a special prosecutor to look into Republican AG candidate Matthew DePerno for allegations that he conspired with Trump supporters to gain access to voting machines on the heels of the 2020 election.
The Michigan State Police and Michigan Department of Attorney General are <a href="https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/22128224-michigan-petition-for-appointment-of-special-prosecutor">investigating</a> &#8220;a conspiracy to unlawfully obtain access to voting machines used in the 2020 General Election&#8221; and have connected DePerno to the alleged plot.
Colorado&#8217;s O&#8217;Dea Says No Way To Trump 2024
“I hope he doesn’t run. I don’t want to see him as president again,” Republican Colorado Senate nominee Joe O’Dea, a first-time political candidate, <a href="https://www.cpr.org/2022/08/05/gop-senate-candidate-joe-odea-says-he-hopes-trump-doesnt-run-for-president/">told</a> radio host Ross Kaminsky on Friday.
“I think that seeing a Biden-Trump rematch again in 2024 would rip the country apart. I think a lot of people are ready to move our country forward,&#8221; he added. &#8220;So, I wouldn’t support him running again.”
During a debate earlier this year, however, O’Dea seemed to suggest he would support Trump if he were the party’s nominee. “If Donald Trump happens to be the Republican nominee, then I definitely won’t vote for Biden,” O’Dea said a week prior to the Republican primary for the Colorado Senate seat.
The O’Dea campaign <a href="https://twitter.com/KyleClark/status/1555645582512795649?s=20&amp;t=n-IJgsC82mPYsbaSkt0UXg">told</a> Colorado Public Radio that he won’t vote for Biden if Biden and Trump are the nominees in 2024. Another reporter <a href="https://twitter.com/KyleClark/status/1555645582512795649?s=20&amp;t=n-IJgsC82mPYsbaSkt0UXg">tweeted</a> that the “campaign confirms O’Dea would still vote for Trump in 2024 if Trump is the Republican nominee.”
“If former President Trump runs, he can expect Joe to campaign alongside [other possible GOP contenders] Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, or Tim Scott,” communication director Kyle Kohli told CPR.

Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) is airing a political ad featuring her father, former Vice President Dick Cheney, claiming, &#8220;In our nation’s 236-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump.&#8221;
We&#8217;ll let readers decide how they feel about the comments from the former VP who started two wars, oversaw torture, and emboldened the National Security Agency &#8230;  but couldn&#8217;t he have at least mentioned Wyoming in his TV ad? He didn&#8217;t say &#8220;Wyoming&#8221; once.

In case you haven&#8217;t heard, former Governor Sarah Palin is back in Alaska politics. The GOP congressional candidate knows a thing or two about Ol&#8217; Joe, having faced off against him on the 2008 presidential campaign trail when he was a senator from Delaware.
Palin said in a statement that she &#8220;was outraged but not surprised&#8221; by the raid on Trump&#8217;s residence, which she claimed was meant to stop the America First movement.
&#8220;President Trump is the target of yet another partisan witch hunt, but these third-world tactics will not deter him &#8211; or me &#8211; from fighting to Drain the Swamp and return control of government to the people where it belongs,&#8221; she <a href="https://twitter.com/SarahPalinUSA/status/1557057281451126784?s=20&amp;t=-h6JrGZTjMZ226HzRNqK8Q">added</a>.
Just hours before the raid, Trump joined Palin for a tele-rally, calling in on a phone to encourage GOP voters to choose her to replace the late GOP Rep. Don Young in the rank choice voting.
Nevada&#8217;s Gaming Industry Hedges Its Bets
A staple of the Nevada economy, its gaming industry, has <a href="https://www.reviewjournal.com/news/politics-and-government/nevada/nevadas-casino-industry-donates-to-both-gubernatorial-candidates-2618840/">collectively donated</a> hundreds of thousands of dollars to both Democratic Gov. Steve Sisolak and his GOP challenger, Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo. Sisolak has the edge so far, taking in $943,000 from the industry since last year. Lombardo is about $200,000 less, receiving a total of $730,000 from the gaming industry in the same time frame, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
Homeless Crisis In Oregon&#8217;s Leftist Paradise Takes Center Stage 
Oregon, a state that prides itself on being a beacon of far-left politics, has a homelessness problem.
Oregon&#8217;s GOP gubernatorial candidate Christine Drazan <a href="https://www.kgw.com/article/news/politics/christine-drazan-campaign-issue-roadmap-homelessness/283-b38562a2-0207-4ad2-93be-104ad0fbe735">announced</a> her “Roadmap for Oregon’s Future” on Monday, which promises to &#8220;declare a homelessness state of emergency.&#8221;
Her roadmap includes a plan to “[a]ddress the humanitarian crisis” of homelessness, “[r]estore safe communities” and “the rule of law,” and increase job production to help working families. She also detailed plans to boost education in the state, take care of the natural resources of Oregon in a sustainable way, and bring back trust in government.
Comeback Kent Wins It In Washington&#8217;s 3rd District
Tuesday evening, incumbent six-term Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-WA) lost Washington&#8217;s GOP primary, <a href="https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/politics/rep-jaime-herrera-beutler-concedes-primary-defeat-to-trump-endorsed-challenger-joe-kent/">conceding</a> to America First candidate and green beret Joe Kent. Kent looked like he was going to lose, but thanks to a surge on voting day gained enough ground to overtake his opponent.

Democrats Go All In On Abortion After Kansas Pro-Life Referendum Fails
Kansas voters rejected a referendum that would have <a href="https://www.kansascity.com/news/politics-government/election/article263832087.html">removed</a> the right to abortion from the state’s constitution by an 18 point margin. In reaction, President Joe Biden stated that the vote was a mandate from the American people to codify Roe v. Wade and protect the right to abortion nationwide.
&#8220;This vote makes clear what we know: the majority of Americans agree that women should have access to abortion and should have the right to make their own health care decisions,&#8221; Biden <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2022/08/02/statement-by-president-joe-biden-on-defeat-of-kansas-ballot-measure-threatening-womens-right-to-abortion/">said</a> in a statement after the election results were announced.
&#8220;Congress should listen to the will of the American people and restore the protections of Roe as federal law,” Biden added.
In Michigan, Another GOP Rep Who Voted For Trump’s Impeachment Loses
Representative Peter Meijer (R-MI) <a href="https://www.detroitnews.com/elections/results/2022-08-02/state/michigan/">lost</a> his primary battle in Michigan’s 3rd District against John Gibbs, a political appointee who served in former President Donald Trump’s Housing and Urban Development agency and earned the endorsement of Trump. Meijer was one of ten House Republicans to vote for Trump’s impeachment following the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021. Six out of ten of those Republicans have either retired from Congress or lost primary challenges.
Former two-time U.S. Senate candidate John James handily won Michigan&#8217;s GOP primary for a U.S. House seat. He will go on to face Democrat nominee Carl Marlinga in a newly redrawn district.
In the Wolverine State’s gubernatorial race, Trump-backed Tudor Dixon also proved victorious in the Republican primary. Dixon also was backed by the state&#8217;s party&#8217;s establishment. Dixon will now face incumbent Democrat Gretchen Whitmer in the general election, dubbing her “the queen of lockdowns.”
“Frankly Michigan, we deserve better,” Dixon <a href="https://apnews.com/article/2022-primary-elections-michigan-a1a3ec1327ea5d8795812ae2ef255963">said</a> during her victory speech. “Now we have the opportunity to truly hold Gretchen Whitmer accountable for the pain she has inflicted on each and every one of us during the past four years.”
Masters Wins In Arizona, Governor’s Race Too Close To Call
Blake Masters, a Trump-endorsed Silicon Valley entrepreneur, <a href="https://www.wsj.com/livecoverage/primary-election-results-august-2-az-ks-mo-mi-wa">knocked off</a> Attorney General Mark Brnovich and businessman Jim Lamon in Arizona&#8217;s widely watched GOP Senate primary election. Masters — a strong supporter of Trump’s America First agenda — ran on strong borders, taking on Big Tech, and supporting the right to life while creating an economy that allows Americans to raise a family on one income.
Meanwhile, the race for Arizona’s gubernatorial race is too close to call, but the MAGA candidate Kari Lake holds a lead over Taylor Robson. Former Vice President Mike Pence endorsed Robson. Trump endorsed Lake, and the election has been viewed as a quasi-proxy war between Pence and Trump.
Cheney Lands Hollywood Endorsement
Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/liz-cheney-touts-support-from-yellowstone-actor-kevin-costner-ahead-of-primary">touted</a> a recent endorsement from Hollywood actor Kevin Costner, but it is doubtful that the “Yellowstone” star will attract any new supporters to her campaign. Costner supported Pete Buttigieg in the 2020 Democratic presidential primary and then-candidate Joe Biden in the presidential election.
Polls indicate that Cheney will likely lose by a wide margin to her Trump-endorsed challenger Harriet Hageman. Hageman is up by 20 points over the January 6 Committee member, <a href="https://www.npr.org/2022/08/02/1115267074/how-liz-cheneys-attempt-to-get-re-elected-as-wyomings-member-of-the-house-is-goi">according</a> to one set of data.
Based on recent press comments, Cheney has not ruled out a 2024 run for president.
“At this point, I haven’t made a decision on 2024 …. I’ll make a decision on 2024 down the road,” Cheney <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/sunday-talk-shows/3572066-cheney-reiterates-she-hasnt-decided-on-running-for-president-in-2024/">said</a> on CNN’s “State of The Union.&#8221;
Crime Takes Center Place In Nevada
Nevada Democratic Governor Steve Sisolak is accusing his GOP opponent, Sheriff Joe Lombardo, of overseeing a crime and homicide surge in Clark County.
Sisolak <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/meet-the-press/meetthepressblog/nevada-gov-sisolak-hits-joe-lombardo-crime-new-ad-rcna40479">released</a> an ad last week harping on the point and referencing Trump&#8217;s claim that Nevada is a &#8220;cesspool&#8221; of crime. Sisolak&#8217;s ad also says that the state spends more than any other on law enforcement as a percent of its budget.
For his part, Lombardo is throwing the crime issue back at Sisolak, claiming that Nevada State Police is short-staffed and that is causing problems, such as long waits on the freeway.
Lombardo is also hitting Sisolak for staying silent on Clark County Judge Erika Ballou&#8217;s &#8220;anti-police&#8221; comments. Lombardo has called for Ballou&#8217;s resignation for implying that police officers are racist.
“You’re the one making the decisions not to walk away from cops,” Ballou <a href="https://www.nevadacurrent.com/2022/07/21/judges-comments-reflect-reality-say-civil-rights-leaders/">said</a> to one defendant. “You’re a black man in America. You know you don’t want to be nowhere where cops are.”
“You know you don’t want to be nowhere where cops are because I know I don’t, and I’m a middle-aged, middle-class black woman,” the judge added. “I don’t want to be around where the cops are because I don’t know if I&#8217;m going to walk away alive or not.”
Lombardo and Sisolak will face off against each other in the first gubernatorial debate on October 18.
Early Voting Starts In Alaska
Early voting <a href="https://alaskapublic.org/2022/08/02/early-voting-has-started-in-alaskas-august-elections-heres-what-to-know/">started</a> Monday for the race that includes former Republican Governor Sarah Palin seeking to return to politics in a House special election to replace the deceased Representative Don Young (R-AK).
Palin, Republican Nick Begich III, and Democrat Mary Peltola face off in a ranked-choice battle.
Wisconsin Dems Rally Around Leftist Senate Candidate, GOP Gubernatorial Primary Days Away
This past week, Wisconsin Democrats <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2022/07/29/sarah-godlewski-suspends-wisconsin-senate-campaign-endorses-barnes-00048717">consolidated</a> behind leftist Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes, who is running to challenge incumbent Sen. Ron Johnson. State Treasurer Sarah Godlewski, on-leave Milwaukee Bucks executive Alex Lasry, and county executive Tom Nelson dropped out of the race and endorsed Barnes. He is also supported by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).
Johnson responded to the recent news of Godlewski dropping out by <a href="https://twitter.com/RonJohnsonWI/status/1553020221576777729?s=20&amp;t=NVFlACYrCrwBVbIiFQ_Gqw">tweeting</a>: &#8220;Showing their lack of respect for voters and the democratic process, the power brokers of the Democrat party have now cleared the field for their most radical left candidate. Socialist policies have produced this mess, &amp; a radical left Senator from Wisconsin is not the solution.”
“I won’t be lectured about respecting voters by a pro-insurrectionist Senator,” Barnes said in response.
The Badger State&#8217;s Republican primary is less than a week away as GOP contenders attempt to connect with voters.
Candidates Tim Michels, a Trump-endorsed construction executive, state Assemblyman Tim Ramthun, and former Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch answered questions from callers for a local TV station on Monday.
An interesting note is that Trump <a href="https://www.wisn.com/article/upfront-recap-trump-pence-split-front-and-center-in-gop-race-for-governor/40758116">has a Friday rally</a> in Waukesha, Wisconsin, for Michels.
Meanwhile, Pence, the state&#8217;s former GOP Governor Scott Walker, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley are expected to campaign for Kleefisch throughout the state this week.
