When Kamala Harris took Joe Biden’s spot at the top of the Democratic presidential ticket, she also replaced him as the focus of Democrats’ favorite X account. 
In July, the popular “Biden’s Wins” account rebranded itself to “<a href="https://x.com/harris_wins">Kamala’s Wins</a>,” and now boasts that it’s the “largest online community supporting soon to be President Kamala Harris.” With over 765,000 followers, the account sits at the center of a Democratic influence operation, pushing false narratives to millions of potential voters. And its founder, a Biden-Harris administration staffer, may be violating federal law by running it.
The Biden’s Wins account was launched in January 2022 by Ethan Wolf, a recent college graduate who was working as deputy political director for Illinois Democrat Brad Schneider’s reelection campaign. Wolf’s account quickly became “a favorite of White House staffers” such as Ron Klain, Biden’s former chief of staff, and in July 2022, his account was <a href="https://www.politico.com/newsletters/west-wing-playbook/2022/07/18/always-tweet-00046393">profiled by POLITICO</a>.
By September 2022, Wolf was <a href="https://www.facebook.com/ethan.wolf.167/posts/pfbid02kKvrEF2uQYdp2fnVCLqPBuraESLJ8SNLWHmk6ACdKBwHvoPTQa4dUrBGzuJKSFo2l">invited</a> to the White House “for a private briefing with the President, Vice-President, Ron Klain,” Wolf said on Facebook. A month later, Wolf was <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/posts/activity-6989521571837083649-xL7I/">back at the White House</a> for another content creator briefing, posing for photos with top White House officials and <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/posts/activity-6989521571837083649-xL7I/">Doug Emhoff</a>.

Just over a year after launching the account praising Biden, Wolf had earned himself a job in the administration. In June 2023, Wolf was hired as a “communications specialist” in the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration, where he makes $94,000 a year, according to <a href="https://s.bookplum.org/live/hb2T9anuppRlDZ/1QDPUTHbp5uf4t/Ethan-Wolf-oge-278e.pdf">disclosure forms</a>. 
The timing of these events raises questions about the Biden-Harris administration&#8217;s relationship with Wolf. The Harris campaign, responding to one of the many viral lies that originated with his account, <a href="https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2024/aug/15/tweets/viral-photo-misleads-on-crowd-size-at-vances-michi/">told PolitiFact</a> it is not affiliated with Kamala’s Wins, though it seems that Harris and the administration have worked closely with Wolf from the beginning of his career, when he was fresh out of Ohio State University.
An administration official posting from the Kamala’s Wins account while working at the Commerce Department would be an apparent violation of the <a href="https://osc.gov/Services/Pages/HatchAct-Federal.aspx">Hatch Act</a>, which bars federal employees from engaging in political activity while on duty or in a federal building.
Asked about Wolf’s employment and political activity, a Commerce Department spokesman told The Daily Wire: “All Department of Commerce employees are subject to the Hatch Act, which is the law that governs political activities for federal employees.”
Wolf, who could not be reached for comment, would not be the first member of the Biden-Harris administration to violate the Hatch Act. In October 2022, Klain was found to have <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-chief-of-staff-informed-he-violated-hatch-act">violated</a> the Hatch Act with a post from that previous May. Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/u-s-government-watchdog-says-biden-hhs-chief-becerra-violated-hatch-act">charged</a> with a violation in April 2023, and White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre just <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/gov-watchdog-group-finds-press-sec-karine-jean-pierre-violated-hatch-act">two months later.</a> Jean-Pierre’s predecessor, Jen Psaki, received a <a href="https://www.citizensforethics.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/HA-22-000004.pdf">warning</a> about violating the Hatch Act in 2021.
Nor would Kamala’s Wins be the only thing that potentially put Wolf on the wrong side of the Hatch Act. He has <a href="https://x.com/ethanmwolf/status/1829551588782096473">repeatedly</a> <a href="https://x.com/ethanmwolf/status/1833961958451937759">shared</a> political content from his personal X account during work hours, as recently as <a href="https://x.com/ethanmwolf/status/1839032198436987296">September 25</a>.

Wolf appears to have launched the Biden’s Wins account as part of a business strategy. 
The same year he launched the account, Wolf also <a href="https://apps.ilsos.gov/businessentitysearch/businessentitysearch">formed</a> a company called “Democratic Wins Media LLC.” The Biden’s Wins X account seems to have been part of that operation: in June 2023, the account and several other “wins” accounts — “Democratic Wins,” “Pete’s [Buttigieg] Wins,” and “[Hillary] Clinton’s Wins” — reposted a <a href="https://x.com/ShadiaMartini/status/1667679310109609984">campaign video</a> for Shadia Martini, a Democratic candidate for Michigan state representative. Two days later, Martini’s campaign <a href="https://miboecfr.nictusa.com/cgi-bin/cfr/exp_anls_res.cgi">paid</a> Wolf’s company $2,000.
Since transforming into Kamala’s Wins, the account has been a major source of false information. The account was <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/07/30/politics/fact-check-nfl-quarterbacks-kamala-harris-fundraising-call/index.html">widely fact checked</a> after it erroneously claimed that a number of NFL quarterbacks, including Joe Burrow, were part of a “White Dudes for Harris” fundraising call. 
The account has promoted the false claim that former President Donald Trump is <a href="http://admitting">attached</a> to Project 2025, and repeated frequently debunked<a href="https://x.com/harris_wins/status/1834652339472417177"> claims</a> about Trump’s 2017 remarks in Charlottesville, Virginia.
The account has frequently misconstrued facts to present Harris’ record in a positive light, falsely claiming that Biden-Harris administration policies have caused inflation and grocery prices to <a href="https://x.com/harris_wins/status/1833523201923813719">plummet</a>, and led to a reduction in <a href="https://x.com/harris_wins/status/1840936148270563413">violent crime.</a>
Wolf’s political work for Biden and Harris began as a 20-year-old Ohio State University student in 2020, when he <a href="https://jewishjournal.com/news/united-states/315710/meet-jews-4-joe-the-jewish-student-movement-fighting-to-get-biden-elected/">launched “Jews 4 Joe” to help elect Biden</a>. He told <a href="https://www.politico.com/newsletters/west-wing-playbook/2022/07/18/always-tweet-00046393">POLITICO</a> that his work was what initially put him on the White House’s radar.

Wolf also appears to have launched an X account that same year called <a href="https://x.com/jews4kanye/">Jews 4 Kanye</a>, a reference to the openly anti-Semitic rapper Kanye West. The account’s bio reads: “Jews love Kanye &amp; Kanye loves the Jews.” One of the account’s only six followers is an Ohio State classmate of Wolf’s.
Posts from Kamala’s Wins account continue to reach millions of people a day in the final stretch of the campaign. Over the past weekend, the account posted repeatedly that Trump is “senile.”
In his personal capacity, Wolf <a href="https://x.com/ethanmwolf/status/1755760573625581946">insisted</a> in February 2024 that Biden was mentally competent, just five months before a series of embarrassing mental gaffes forced Biden to suspend his presidential campaign.

Ron Klain, former White House Chief of Staff to President Joe Biden, admitted during a recent interview that, although everyone in the Biden administration was &#8220;united&#8221; in their belief that Vice President Kamala Harris should &#8220;succeed,&#8221; they struggled mightily in finding a way to make that actually happen.
Klain spoke to <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/08/18/us/politics/kamala-harris-vice-president-record.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The New York Times</a> about Harris — who was catapulted to the top of the 2024 Democratic presidential ticket just a month ago despite three years of decidedly poor approval ratings and the fact that she&#8217;s never won a single primary vote on her own merits — and explained that it took the Biden White House some time to find any issue on which Harris could lead with any real success.
The NYT framed the piece very differently, running the headline, &#8220;A Vice Presidential Learning Curve: How Kamala Harris Picked Her Shots.&#8221;

Most of the article centered on Harris really coming into her own when she took charge of an abortion rights task force after the Supreme Court struck down the 1973 abortion law Roe v. Wade — and claimed she had been careful about that because &#8220;she had spent much of the previous year and a half trying to avoid being typecast as the first female vice president.&#8221;
It wasn&#8217;t until 11 paragraphs in that the outlet added Klain&#8217;s concern that the White House may not have done enough to make Harris and her contributions more visible.
&#8220;We were all united behind the idea she should be successful. We just didn’t find the path to do it,&#8221; he said. &#8220;People really liked her. There’s a lot of enthusiasm for her. And I don’t think we did a good enough job of selling her.&#8221;

Jeffrey Zients, who became Biden&#8217;s chief of staff after Klain left the job, agreed that Harris had been much more involved in the president&#8217;s decisions than people often saw. &#8220;When I started running the transition, the president’s first directive to me was the vice president must be involved in every decision that hits his desk, from start to finish.&#8221;
Zients&#8217; comments may also prove an obstacle for Harris as she pushes ahead with her own presidential campaign, given her apparent desire to put as much distance as possible between herself and the disastrous policies implemented by the Biden-Harris administration.

Some of President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joe Biden&#8217;s</a> diehard supporters made it clear on Sunday that they were not happy with the &#8220;geniuses that pushed the most consequential President of our lifetime out.&#8221;
President Biden made the official announcement in a letter on Sunday, saying that he planned to &#8220;stand down&#8221; and not accept the 2024 Democratic presidential nomination. A short time later, he endorsed his Vice President Kamala Harris. But although the letter came from Biden himself, many believe that he was pressured to step aside by a handful of high-dollar donors and powerful members of his own party.
Several of them took to X to air their frustrations — and to predict what would happen if the Democratic Party chose to run with anyone other than Harris, who has already announced her plan to run in Biden&#8217;s place.
Rep. Jasmine Crockett was quick to call them out, saying, &#8220;Well I hope the geniuses that pushed the most consequential President of our lifetime out, have a plan.&#8221;

Former White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain wishes President Joe Biden would stop talking about bridges and focus more of his attention on economic issues.
Biden&#8217;s former top man <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2024/04/09/ron-klain-joe-biden-infrastructure-00151438" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told POLITICO</a> that while there was certainly nothing wrong with Biden talking about infrastructure, even the greatest accomplishments might not move the needle if the American people were worried about day-to-day issues like the cost of gas, groceries, and rent.
&#8220;I think the president is out there too much talking about bridges,&#8221; Klain lamented. &#8220;He does two or three events a week where he’s cutting a ribbon on a bridge. And here’s a bridge. Like I tell you, if you go into the grocery store, you go to the grocery store and, you know, eggs and milk are expensive, the fact that there’s a f**king bridge is not &#8230;&#8221;
Klain went on to argue that a focus on local infrastructure projects might be more effective for a candidate running for Congress who was trying to show how effective he had been in bringing federal funding home to his district — but did not have the same impact to someone running for another term in the White House.
&#8220;He’s not a congressman. He’s not running for Congress. I think it’s kind of a fool’s errand. I think that [it] also doesn’t get covered that much because, look, it’s a f**king bridge. Like it’s a bridge, and how interesting is the bridge? It’s a little interesting but it’s not a lot interesting,&#8221; he added.
Klain&#8217;s advice was for Biden to stick to the economy — but not the current economy so much as the one he planned to foster in a second term.
&#8220;The president’s most effective economic message is contrast around whose side are you on, and compassion for the [pinch] of family budgets, and his agenda to bring down costs and raise incomes — and that lauding achievements — especially ones with abstract benefits — is less persuasive with voters,&#8221; Klain explained.

Biden may yet face an uphill battle even if he takes Klain&#8217;s advice, as recent polling suggests more Americans believe the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bidens-claims-of-economic-victory-slapped-back-by-worse-than-expected-inflation-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">economy</a> was better prior to Biden taking office in 2021.
Even an <a href="https://twitter.com/TrumpWarRoom/status/1778070441648623789">informal poll</a> done during a live MSNBC segment resulted in everyone surveyed saying that the economy was better under former President Donald Trump.

President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joe Biden</a> turned 81 on Monday as Democrats split on how to address the issue of the his age as he runs for re-election. 
Some aides to Biden — who frequently mumbles incoherently during speeches and occasionally appears lost at public events — are advocating for his campaign to lean into his age while others are attempting to brush off the topic. According to recent polls, a growing number of Americans do think that Biden&#8217;s age is an important factor to consider as he runs in 2024. 
“I don’t think the campaign should be focused on anything but the winning record,” Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA), a member of the Biden campaign’s national advisory board, <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/11/20/politics/joe-biden-birthday-81/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> CNN. “Everything else about people’s biographies or when their birthdays are – that doesn’t matter. People want to know, what did they do, and what are they going to do?”
Some Democrats have said that Biden&#8217;s age should be <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2023/11/19/biden-biggest-vulnerability-00127937" target="_blank" rel="noopener">used</a> to suggest he has wisdom and experience, with some wanting to brand him as &#8220;Grandpa Joe.&#8221;
One Democrat donor <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2023/11/19/biden-biggest-vulnerability-00127937" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> POLITICO that the Democratic National Committee rebuffed concerns about Biden’s age and “refused to even acknowledge it was a problem.”
“I think the strategy is not to even address it, to consider questions like that stupid or silly,” the donor said. “Literally everyone is talking about it, even amongst donors. But the response is always: ‘What are you going to do?’”

Some in Biden’s inner circle are also concerned about the “optics of age,” according to POLITICO. 
“Those close allies believe that Biden is mentally up for the job, but some acknowledge that the president can at times appear frail, according to two people involved in the conversations but not authorized to speak publicly about internal deliberations,” the outlet reported. 
Ron Klain, Biden’s former chief of staff, said that the Biden campaign needs to figure out how to deal with questions about age. 
“I think everyone knows it’s an issue, and we have to address it,” Klain said. “[Biden will] keep on doing the job, campaigning with vigor and demonstrating to the American people his energy level, which is quite robust.”

The campaign has also proposed various strategies to hide Biden’s aging. 
&#8220;People close to the president have discussed having him walk shorter distances while on camera. They’ve also advocated, at times, trading in formal shoes for more comfortable ones — both to make his stride seem less stiff, but also to reduce the risk of falls,” POLITICO reported. 
Biden has also reportedly attempted to “pass” reporters while out biking. In June 2022, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-falls-while-standing-partially-on-ground-after-stopping-bicycle" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Biden fell</a> while speaking to reporters while on a bike near his beach home in Delaware.

Additionally, aides to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) nicknamed Biden&#8217;s former right-hand man as &#8220;Prime Minister Klain.&#8221;
Klain was so powerful in the Biden White House, that even progressives praised him.
“A lot of people see him as one of the few avenues they have to have a glimpse into the dynamics and considerations of what’s happening in the White House,” Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2022/11/21/ron-klain-white-house-west-wing-00069645" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> of Klain to POLITICO. “When I think about some of the conversations that build trust, build the sense of open communication, he’s usually part of that.”
And then he left this past winter.
If Klain had been the progressive&#8217;s best friend calling the shots in the White House, Rice served as more of the moderate figure who blocked them out. Her role in Biden&#8217;s administration was so powerful that POLITICO described her as ruling a &#8220;fiefdom&#8221; within the West Wing and beyond. The outlet even reported that she had Biden&#8217;s ear around the clock and he heavily depended on her for policy-making decisions.
When Rice isn&#8217;t around to tell Biden what to say, he flounders.
Consider what happened in October when somebody asked him about his gender policies, unprompted.
&#8220;What do you say to Americans who disagree with your gender policies?&#8221; a reporter asked.
&#8220;My gender policies?&#8221; Biden said.
The reporter clarified, &#8220;Transgender policies like bathrooms, women’s sports, things like that.&#8221;
&#8220;I stand by my policies,&#8221; a confused Biden said before walking away.
As conservative strategist Greg Price put it, &#8220;Dude has no idea what his policies even are. He just reads what his handlers put on the teleprompter.&#8221;

The president couldn&#8217;t even remember he was in Ireland two weeks ago. How is he possibly going to lead the nation without his two shadow presidents?
Maybe they have stepped away because they know Biden won&#8217;t be attempting anything radical in the run-up to the 2024 presidential election. At an event Wednesday in the East Room, Klain choked up as he talked about the &#8220;best job&#8221; he ever had, standing next to his boss President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joe Biden</a>. Klain got emotional throughout his remarks, and toward the end, held up a small souvenir rock in his hand and tearfully explained its significance to him.
&#8220;This plain and simple rock was given to me a year ago on one of our darker days — by Louisa Terrell,&#8221;  Klain said, referring to the <a href="https://www.politico.com/newsletters/west-wing-playbook/2023/02/01/bidens-art-of-the-deal-00080624" target="_blank" rel="noopener">head of White House legislative affairs</a>.

President Joe Biden will appoint a former COVID czar to be his next chief of staff, according to a report Sunday.
Sources <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ron-klain-expected-to-step-down-as-bidens-chief-of-staff-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told The Washington Post</a> that Jeff Zients would be named the successor to Ron Klain, who is expected to step down as chief of staff in the coming weeks. A formal announcement has yet to be made as of press time.
Zients served as COVID response coordinator for the first year-plus of Biden&#8217;s presidency, leading the charge in <a href="https://www.virginiamercury.com/2022/02/03/white-house-plans-speedy-delivery-to-states-of-covid-vaccine-for-littlest-kids/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">promoting vaccinations</a>. In the spring of 2022, when Biden announced Ashish Jha would be taking over the role, the president praised Zients as <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2022/03/17/statement-by-president-joe-biden-on-the-white-house-covid-19-response-coordinator/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">&#8220;a man of service and an expert manager.&#8221;</a>
So far, the White House remains tightlipped about a chief of staff overhaul. Still, senior administration officials <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/01/21/us/politics/ron-klain-resigning.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told The New York Times</a> that Klain has been telling colleagues privately he planned to step down ever since the midterm elections.
Insiders told <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/01/22/jeff-zients-biden-chief-of-staff/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Washington Post</a> that Zients returned to the White House in the fall to help Klain with staff turnover after the 2022 elections. Klain has been assigning Zients various projects, which some insiders have viewed as Klain preparing Zients for the chief of staff position, the report added.
Zients established himself as a wealthy investor who took on various senior roles in the Obama administration and served on Facebook&#8217;s board of directors.  <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/bidens-wealthiest-cabinet-officials-zients-lander-rice-top-the-list-11616500809" target="_blank" rel="noopener">A Wall Street Journal analysis</a> in March 2021 showed Zients listed assets worth at least $89.3 million, placing him among the richest of Biden&#8217;s top aides.
If he does become chief of staff, Zients will take on the top job as Biden faces a growing controversy over his handling of classified documents.
The White House has repeatedly insisted the president and his attorneys are fully cooperating with the National Archives and Justice Department as an investigation turns up more classified documents at Biden&#8217;s Wilmington, Delaware, residence and a think tank office <a href="https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/fbi-finds-six-more-documents-marked-classified-in-search-of-bidens-home" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dating back as far back as his time in the Senate</a>.

White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain is reportedly planning to step down from his position in the coming weeks, a move that would have a significant impact on the administration.
Klain has been privately telling some over the last couple of months that he has had enough of the intense work that is required in the position and that he&#8217;s ready for something else, according to The New York Times.
The Times&#8217; sources would not disclose whether a replacement has already been picked or when a possible announcement may happen, the report said.
The report noted that the move comes as the 80-year-old president is expected to announce in the coming months that he will run for a second term in office.
The report said that some of the top choices to replace Klain included Labor Secretary Martin J. Walsh; former Gov. Jack A. Markell of Delaware, now serving as ambassador to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development; Steven J. Ricchetti, the counselor to the president; Jeffrey D. Zients, the administration’s former coronavirus response coordinator; Susan Rice, the White House domestic policy adviser; and Tom Vilsack, the secretary of agriculture.
The report of Klain&#8217;s departure comes as the administration gears up to face mounting legal and political scrutiny over the next two years after Republicans won control of the House of Representatives and Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed a special counsel to investigate Biden over classified documents that were found in one of his private offices and in his home.
Classified documents connected with Biden were first found in his private office at the Penn Biden Center, a think tank in Washington, D.C., on November 2, less than a week before the 2022 midterm elections. Since then, Biden’s attorneys have located more classified documents at Biden’s home in Wilmington on three separate occasions: an unspecified number found in the garage on December 20, one document found in Biden’s study on January 11, and five more found in the study on January 12.
U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/merrick-garland-appoints-special-counsel-to-investigate-biden-classified-document-scandal">appointed</a> former U.S. Attorney Robert Hur — who served during the Trump administration — to serve as special counsel in the investigation after the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois John Lausch, who was assigned to do an initial review of the case, recommended to Garland that a special counsel be appointed.
The Department of Justice reportedly <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/doj-declined-to-monitor-biden-attorneys-search-for-classified-docs-at-presidents-home-report-says" target="_blank" rel="noopener">declined</a> to assign FBI agents to monitor the search of Biden’s home under a mutual agreement reached with Biden’s personal attorneys. Department officials reportedly believed that FBI supervision would overly complicate the federal investigation into classified documents related to Biden, and that the supervision was unnecessary with Biden’s cooperation.
Biden <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-issues-statement-over-classified-document-scandal">responded</a> to the scandal by saying that he has &#8220;no regrets&#8221; over his actions and that getting questions about the investigation “quite frankly bugs” him.
“We’re fully cooperating, looking forward to getting this resolved quickly,” Biden claimed. “I think you’re gonna find there’s nothing there. I have no regrets. I’m following what the lawyers have told me they want me to do — that’s exactly what we’re doing. There’s no there, there.”

One of the worst years for <a href="http://dailywire.com/topic/stock-market" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stocks</a> in recent decades came after President <a href="http://dailywire.com/topic/biden-administration" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joe Biden</a> made a series of rosy predictions about their performance.
The S&amp;P 500 index has fallen nearly 20% since the beginning of the year, rivaling the 37% decline witnessed in 2008 amid the collapse of the American banking system, as well as the 12% and 22% declines witnessed in 2001 and 2002 amid the dot-com bubble. Persistent inflation, supply chain bottlenecks, and geopolitical pressures rendered 2022 the seventh worst year for stocks since the Great Depression began in 1929. To make matters worse, 2022 is one of the few years on record in which both the stock market and the bond market were negative.
Administration staffers and the commander-in-chief himself nevertheless lauded the stock market’s performance in the weeks before its substantial decline. During <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/speeches-remarks/2022/01/07/remarks-by-president-biden-on-the-december-2021-jobs-report/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">remarks</a> about unemployment delivered in the first days of January 2022, Biden noted that the stock market was approximately 20% “higher than it was when my predecessor was there.”
“It has hit record after record after record on my watch, while making things more equitable for working-class people. At the same time, we’ve created jobs, reduced unemployment, raised wages,” Biden said. However, rising price levels would continue to outpace nominal wage increases in the following months, leading to a 1.9% year-over-year decline in earnings by November 2022, according to <a href="https://www.bls.gov/news.release/realer.nr0.htm" target="_blank" rel="noopener">data</a> from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
During <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/speeches-remarks/2021/09/08/remarks-by-president-biden-in-honor-of-labor-unions/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">comments</a> about labor unions delivered in September 2021, the commander-in-chief noted that “the stock market has gone up exponentially” since he ascended to the Oval Office. “You haven’t heard me say a word about it. I’m glad it’s gone up.”

Americans saving for retirement saw their IRA balances fall year-over-year by an average of 25% in the third quarter, while 401(k) balances dropped 23%, according to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/401-pain-average-retirement-savings-continue-to-plummet" target="_blank" rel="noopener">research</a> from Fidelity Investments. The proportion of individuals with negative sentiment regarding their finances now surpasses the proportion of individuals with positive feelings, marking a significant reversal since last year.
The average 401(k) account value <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/its-not-just-yours-study-shows-how-much-average-401k-is-down-under-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dropped</a> from $135,000 on the first day of the year to roughly $101,000 by the middle of October, according to a <a href="https://committeetounleashprosperity.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/CTUP_BidenEconomicPoliciesAnd401k.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">study</a> from the Committee to Unleash Prosperity, offering a dismal view of the past several months under the Biden administration even as stocks have somewhat rebounded in recent weeks.
“This has inflicted considerable financial losses for senior citizens or those in the baby-boom generation who are nearing retirement,” concluded Stephen Moore and E.J. Antoni, the conservative-leaning economists who drafted the study. “For a married couple where each person has the average balance in their retirement account, their $270,000 in savings has declined about $80,000, which can be nearly the equivalent of a down payment on a retirement home. In this way, Biden’s economic policies have not only negatively affected the real take home pay of middle-class American workers but have also effectively stolen tens of thousands of dollars of lifetime savings.”

While Stinson agreed that Kennedy&#8217;s midterms were an unqualified success, he noted that several other presidents had seen good midterm results since — and better results than Biden could see even if Democrats are successful in the upcoming Georgia run-off between incumbent Senator Raphael Warnock (D-GA) and challenger Herschel Walker.

Although members of the former party criticize the Biden administration and progressive lawmakers for <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-economic-czar-claims-white-house-is-reducing-the-budget-deficit" target="_blank" rel="noopener">deficit spending</a> even while restricting <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-administration-severely-cuts-back-on-oil-and-gas-leases" target="_blank" rel="noopener">energy production</a>, members of the latter party claim that their expenditures are meant to decrease the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-signs-740-billion-inflation-reduction-act" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cost of living</a> for households.
Klain cited recent rebounds in the stock market, which has seen one of its worst years in history, as evidence that the administration’s economic policy has been effective. “Our mission here at the White House is to continue that kind of economic growth,” he said, naming inflation as “the problem we’re focused on.”
Voters nevertheless hold the commander-in-chief responsible for the lackluster economy. In a recent <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/americans-who-have-worse-finances-since-biden-was-elected-overwhelmingly-blame-democrats" target="_blank" rel="noopener">survey</a> from Bankrate, roughly 43% of respondents reported that their finances are worse than two years ago. Among those who reported worse finances, 69% placed “at least a moderate amount of blame” on Biden, while 71% placed blame on Democrats in Congress and a smaller but still salient 54% blamed Republicans in Congress. Although 93% of Republicans with lower financial prospects said Biden is to blame, a considerable 30% of Democrats agreed.
Administration officials have repeatedly seized on any glimmer of positive economic news as evidence that the economy as a whole is experiencing a normal recovery. After the release of the preliminary third quarter output forecast, Biden <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/economy-turns-positive-in-third-quarter-biden-takes-credit" target="_blank" rel="noopener">claimed</a> that “doomsayers” had been “rooting for a downturn” while falsely arguing that the nation was in a recession.
“Now, we need to make more progress on our top economic challenge: bringing down high prices for American families,” he remarked. “Congressional Republicans have a very different agenda — one that would drive up inflation and add to the deficit by cutting taxes for the wealthiest Americans and large corporations. It would raise the cost of prescription drugs, health care, and energy for American families. That failed economic vision is not the way to give families more breathing room and grow our economy so working families can get ahead.”
Elevated price levels recently caused the Federal Reserve to increase <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/federal-reserve-hikes-interest-rates-three-quarters-of-a-point" target="_blank" rel="noopener">target federal funds</a> rates by three-quarters of a percentage point. Monetary policymakers have <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/top-federal-reserve-official-reveals-consequence-of-higher-interest-rates" target="_blank" rel="noopener">repeatedly warned</a> markets that economic growth will be “essentially flat” in the second half of the year following the dismal first two quarters.
