The lead singer of Beartooth, an Ohio-based metalcore band, recently announced that he was gay despite being married to a woman for 14 years. 
Caleb Shomo, 33, declared on social media that he’s “a proudly gay man” after fans speculated on his sexuality. Now his wife, Fleur, has added her perspective to the conversation.
“Not really sure how to start this cause does anything even need to be said? But I guess I’ll just dive right in,” Fleur shared on Instagram Saturday. “The past few months have been a very disorientating and hurtful time to navigate. For both of us. But I will always want to love, protect, and support Caleb. I have cared more about his well being over the years than anything else in the world.”
She continued, “To see the confusion and pain he went through and the highs and lows and wanting to help but not knowing how. You never want anything more for your person than for them to just be ok. You also ask yourself constantly if you’re a bad person for wondering wtf this means for your world &amp; the anger you also feel. …You can love and support your person through the hardest time in their life, whilst also be completely demolished &amp; lose yourself at the same time.”
She confirmed the marriage is “over,” and wrote, “Nobody will know anything about our marriage like we do. And no one can ever truly know what depths of love exist between two people unless they are those people.”
“I already miss it &amp; my husband more than anything. Our story was a good one. And now it’s done,” Fleur said.
This was all in response to Shomo’s original <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DYr3ld8GzI3/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&amp;igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==">post</a> on Saturday, which said, “There has been a lot of speculation surrounding my personal life as of late and I feel compelled to set the record straight before it affects those I love any further. I am a proudly gay man,” he told his Instagram followers. “This is something I’ve been unpacking and reckoning with in my life for quite some time now. It’s been difficult to navigate the feelings surrounding the subject and figure out what to do with this fact.” 
The post went on, “When it comes to my art/Beartooth, I have always strived to chase who I am in the deepest part of my soul from album to album. As you could gather if you’ve followed the band at all in the earlier years, there are 4 very self deprecating albums about exploring my religious upbringing, depression, self hatred, self loathing, and hopelessness. I am grateful for all these albums, yet feel embarrassed at times that I wouldn’t allow myself to really dig up the roots for so long.”
This was all after Shomo temporarily disabled his Instagram in March following the release of the music video for the Beartooth single &#8220;Free,&#8221; which featured him wearing a cropped leather jacket and dramatic makeup. 
The rock star left social media after the onslaught of “homophobic” comments he received following the music video’s release.

Brad Arnold, the founder and lead singer of the popular band 3 Doors Down, has died at the age of 47.
The band released a <a href="https://x.com/3doorsdown/status/2020209301915390037/photo/1">statement</a> to X on Saturday. &#8220;With his beloved wife Jennifer and his family by his side, he passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, in his sleep after his courageous battle with cancer.”
“As a founding member, vocalist, and original drummer of 3 Doors Down, Brad helped redefine mainstream rock music, blending post-grunge accessibility with emotionally direct songwriting and lyrical themes that resonated with everyday listeners,” the statement continued.

“He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.”
Arnold <a href="https://www.fox29.com/news/brad-arnold-3-doors-down-cancer-tour">announced in May 2025</a> that he had been diagnosed with Stage 4 clear cell renal cell carcinoma and that 3 Doors Down would be canceling their summer tour. Despite the serious diagnosis, the singer said he had “no fear.”
While not overtly political, 3 Doors Down played at the &#8220;Make America Great Again Welcome Celebration&#8221; ahead of President Trump’s inauguration in 2017. When asked about playing the event when other musicians steered clear, Arnold <a href="https://loudwire.com/3-doors-down-brad-arnold-donald-trump-inauguration-concert-its-all-about-america-were-proud-to-be-here/">told</a> reporters, &#8220;Man, it&#8217;s all about America. We&#8217;re proud to be here.&#8221;
&#8220;We love America, man. This is gonna be a great experience. It&#8217;s a great honor to be here and we&#8217;re proud to be here,” he added.
The singer struggled with alcoholism in the past, but later committed to sobriety and became an outspoken Christian, even sharing that message from the stage. In August 2024, he made headlines for preaching the Gospel during a concert in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Before performing &#8220;Away from the Sun,&#8221; Arnold addressed the audience, <a href="https://www.christianpost.com/news/3-doors-down-lead-singer-stops-concert-to-share-the-gospel.html">saying</a>: “I feel like I can identify with this song more than most of our songs. &#8230; This world surrounds [us with] a message we’ll never be good enough, we’ll never be strong enough, we’ll never be beautiful enough, we’ll never be rich enough.”

Heavy metal star Ozzy Osbourne has died at the age of 76.
The musician died “surrounded by love,” his family said in a <a href="https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/23619758/ozzy-osbourne-dead-black-sabbath-parkinsons/">statement</a> shared with The Sun on Tuesday. The location of his death was not disclosed.
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.”
The rocker’s death comes just weeks after his farewell concert with Black Sabbath called &#8220;Back to the Beginning.&#8221; The July 5 event in Birmingham, UK, featured a full day of performances by various artists and marked the end of an era for both Osbourne and the iconic heavy metal band.
Osbourne had Parkinson&#8217;s disease and had suffered other health problems in recent years, including complications from injuries received from a fall in 2019. This led to the singer being forced to cancel some shows.
In 2023, Osbourne predicted he had ten years left, “at best,” and expressed a desire to perform at least one more time, despite his ongoing health issues.

After being kicked out of Black Sabbath in 1979 due to substance abuse issues, Osbourne launched a successful solo career. This included releasing hits like “Crazy Train” and “Mr. Crowley.” Over the years, he became a well-known figure in pop culture.
Osbourne married Sharon in 1982. The couple has three children: Aimee, 41, Kelly, 40, and Jack, 39. Their lives were documented in the popular MTV reality show “The Osbournes.”

Ronnie Winter, lead singer for the band Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, warned followers that he doesn’t want any Trump supporters attending the band’s concerts.
The alt-rock singer posted his views in an Instagram video, insisting that anyone who supports President Trump wouldn’t appreciate the “actual words of Jesus” and “acceptance” they’d experience at a show.
“Just doing a quick little PSA. I thought I was pretty clear about all this stuff in 2020,” Winter says in the opening of the video. “As you notice on my Instagram, I did not remove any of that stuff from the Stay Woke campaign, I guess you guys are calling it, from 2020. Look, man, the thing about being woke is: you’re awake, and once you’re awake, you can never go to sleep. And not only has nothing changed but everything they said was going to happen, the woke people, has happened. You have done nothing but prove them right.”
His rant continues with professions of faith and how he believes Christianity conflicts with following Trump.

Beyoncé rode a vintage car through the air &#8212; but does that hold a candle to getting busted by the cops while playing a Columbia, Missouri, house party?
In an era where over-the-top concerts and sky-high ticket prices dominate headlines, The All-American Rejects are taking a different approach. The pop-punk band, which rose to fame in the early 2000s, is reconnecting with fans on their House Party Tour, which brings the band to intimate, fan-suggested venues. 
Frontman Tyson Ritter explained the motivation behind this unconventional approach.
&#8220;I recently read something about people financing festival tickets, the complete inaccessibility of the concert experience in 2025, and how it&#8217;s juxtaposed against these wild and weird economic times,&#8221; he told <a href="https://www.vulture.com/article/all-american-rejects-interview-house-party-tour.html#:~:text=%2C%E2%80%9D%20he%20says.-,%E2%80%9CI%20recently%20read%20something%20about%20people%20financing%20festival%20tickets%2C%20the,our%20shows%20can%20still%20work.%E2%80%9D">Vulture</a> in a recent interview.
This realization led to the band investing their own money to bring live music directly to fans.
&#8220;We took $50,000 out of our own pockets, booked a bus,” Ritter explained. “For me, it was that we could find an opening and an opportunity as four guys from Oklahoma who didn’t come from much.&#8221;
&#8220;I was raised in a trailer house, my first concert was sitting on my porch listening to a band that was playing at an outdoor pavilion,” Ritter added, noting that the backyard tour is also a form of protest against the music industry status quo.
“It was like, this is the reason people are showing up. It’s the have-nots and have-littles in the middle-of-nowhere America who keep the lights on for our country. They’re often drive-through states for many of these big tours. Who’s playing Ames, Iowa? Who’s playing Green Bay, Wisconsin? Unless it’s a big arena with the big old sponsor,” he told the outlet.

“You’re seeing it now where these giant artists — I’m not going to say her name — aren’t really selling out their shows anymore, and they pay for these arenas to make it look like they did,” Ritter added. “The first 25% of the arena gets sold from people buying $300 tickets, and they don’t even know that the local promoter is getting hundreds of free tickets to fill the rest of the venue.”
The House Party Tour has taken off in a large part because younger concertgoers never got to experience intimate concerts. And since Gen Z is all about nostalgia, they were eager to latch onto something they’d heard about, but had never got to try firsthand.
“We did a show in LA that was the kind that you have to do when promoting new music. It left a sour taste in our mouths and in this giant gorilla of an industry we’re clawing our way back into, we decided to put on a show the next day,” Ritter told <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/music/2025/05/21/all-american-rejects-singer-tyson-ritter-pop-up-shows-interview/83777418007/">USA Today</a>, adding that the band first played at the home of a University of Southern California student with just five hours notice.
He added, “We start playing and there were [40 ounce bottles of beer] hoisted in the air and people crowd surfing. I looked into some of their eyes and I saw a rite of passage moment was happening. That they’re going, ‘I saw pictures of my parents doing this, but I never got to.’”
Ritter said the band recaptured a feeling from long ago. “We felt cool,” he told Vulture.
“So after that night, we all put our heads together to see what would be possible. My wife’s getting ready to bring our second child into the world, and she’s due in a week and a half. I told my manager, ‘What if we do as many as we can in this week-and-a-half space? Let’s do it the same way we did when we started out. Let’s reach out to college radio stations and local businesses. Let’s ask for a $5 donation at the door.’ It was that simple.”
Since then, the Rejects have performed in a variety of unconventional venues, including a Minneapolis bowling alley and fans&#8217; backyards in “flyover states” like Iowa and Missouri. These pop-up shows emphasize spontaneity and a return to the communal spirit of live music.
Despite not making money hand over fist like other artists charging hundreds or even thousands of dollars per ticket, the band has been prioritizing connection with fans over profit. And they’re finding new fans in addition to the millennials who remember viral hits from the early aughts like “Swing Swing,” “Move Along,” and “Gives You Hell.”
In the case of getting <a href="https://people.com/all-american-rejects-backyard-gig-shut-down-by-cops-11741776">busted by the police</a> while performing at the University of Missouri, the patrol sergeant admitted to listening to The All-American Rejects in college and allowed the band to play “one more song” before the party had to disperse.
Their choice? The viral 2008 jam “Gives You Hell.&#8221; Obviously.
The House Party Tour coincides with the release of &#8220;Sandbox,&#8221; the band&#8217;s first new song in almost 14 years. They will be opening for the Jonas Brothers on an actual stage beginning on August 10, but for now, they’re gaining fans and publicity by proving they don’t think they’re too good for a classic middle America roller rink.
And instead of being embarrassed or feeling like it’s beneath them, the band is proud of the route they’ve chosen. “This is going to be a feather we fly in our cap, and we’re going to Yankee Doodle as far as we can go,” Ritter said. “I felt like I was watching an echo of a yesterday that got me into doing this.”

Lizzo announced she’s been picked to play rock-and-roll pioneer Sister Rosetta Tharpe when she makes her lead acting debut in a new biopic about the gospel singer.
In a post on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DHlw_1rP0-0/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Instagram</a>, the 36-year-old singer/rapper &#8212; born Melissa Jefferson &#8212; said she was excited to finally be able to share the role she landed in Amazon’s MGM Studios&#8217; film, titled “Rosetta.”

For the part, the four-time Grammy award winner will take on the role of the gospel singer who is credited with being one of the first artists to appeal to both rock n’ roll and R&amp;B audiences, <a href="https://deadline.com/2025/03/lizzo-rosetta-amazon-mgm-studio-1236347889/">Deadline</a> noted.
Gaining popularity in the 1930s and 1940s, Tharpe’s work with the electric guitar and spiritual lyrics got her the title of “Godmother of rock and roll,” the outlet noted.
Natalie Chaidez (&#8220;The Flight Attendant,&#8221; &#8220;Queen of the South&#8221;) and Kwynn Perry (&#8220;Tigerbelles,&#8221; &#8220;The Burned Photo&#8221;) are writing the screenplay. Producers on the project include Lizzo, Kevin Beisler, and Significant Productions’ Nina Yang Bongiovi and Forest Whitaker, the outlet added.
