This year’s nominees for the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/music">Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame</a> were announced on Wednesday and included a mix of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/music-industry">genres</a>, from country to rock, pop, punk, and others. 
To become eligible, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">performers</a> must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years ago. About half of the nominees will be inducted based on who gets the most votes. Ballots are sent to more than 1,000 &#8220;rock experts&#8221; who evaluate the candidates and decide which names on the list deserve to be added.
&#8220;These remarkable nominees have each created their own musical style and attitude impacting generations of music lovers and contributing to the ever-evolving sounds and continued growth of rock &amp; roll,&#8221; said John Sykes, the Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame Foundation&#8217;s chairman, in a statement shared with <a href="https://www.npr.org/2025/02/12/nx-s1-5293515/rock-roll-hall-of-fame-2025-nominees">NPR</a>. 
Voting begins now and the finalists will be revealed in April, with a ceremony to follow in the fall. The full list of nominees is as follows:

BBC News noted that the British pop band Oasis was also nominated last year but ultimately didn’t get inducted. The band’s lead singer Liam Gallagher spoke harshly about the Hall of Fame at the time, telling potential voters, &#8220;Don’t waste your time&#8230; as much as it’s appreciated it’s all a load of bollox.&#8221;
&#8220;I don’t need some w**k award by some geriatric in a cowboy hat,&#8221; Gallagher <a href="https://www.musicradar.com/news/liam-gallagher-oasis-rock-hall-of-fame">added</a>.
Mariah Carey was also nominated and not inducted last year and is on the ballot once again. “My thoughts are: I didn’t get in,&#8221; she said at the time. &#8220;My lawyer got into the Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame before I did,” the pop star quipped, referring to entertainment lawyer Alan Grubman, who was inducted in 2022.
Last year’s inductees included Cher, Foreigner, Ozzy Osbourne, Dave Matthews Band, Mary J. Blige, Peter Frampton, Jimmy Buffett, Dionne Warwick, A Tribe Called Quest, and Kool and the Gang.

Heavy metal recording artist <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/ozzy-osbourne">Ozzy Osbourne</a> says he will perform one last time this summer at a charity concert in the United Kingdom.
The British <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/music">rocker</a> is set to reunite with his former band, Black Sabbath, for the first time in two decades for this show, per <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/music/2025/02/06/ozzy-osbourne-last-show-black-sabbath/78281571007/">USA Today</a>. Osbourne, 76, has been dealing with health issues for years following a Parkinson’s disease diagnosis.
&#8220;Ozzy didn&#8217;t have a chance to say goodbye to his friends, to his fans, and he feels there&#8217;s been no full stop,&#8221; Ozzy’s wife Sharon told BBC on Wednesday. &#8220;This is his full stop.&#8221;
The charity concert on July 5 will include other popular heavy metal bands such as Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, and dozens of others. Organizers said that profits will be donated to charities, including Cure Parkinson&#8217;s, the outlet noted.
&#8220;It&#8217;s &#8230; time for me to give back to the place where I was born,&#8221; Osbourne said in a statement about the upcoming show. &#8220;How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal.&#8221;
Osbourne previously said he believed he only had “10 years left” and wanted to play a farewell show for fans.
“I’m taking it one day at a time, and if I can perform again, I will,” he said in 2023, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ozzy-osbourne-gives-health-update-at-best-ive-got-10-years-left">reported</a>. “But it’s been like saying farewell to the best relationship of my life. At the start of my illness, when I stopped touring, I was really pissed off with myself, the doctors, and the world. But as time has gone on, I’ve just gone, ‘Well, maybe I’ve just got to accept that fact.&#8217;”
“I’m not going to get up there and do a half-hearted Ozzy looking for sympathy,” Osbourne added. &#8220;What’s the f***ing point in that? I’m not going up there in a f***ing wheelchair. I’ve seen Phil Collins perform recently, and he’s got virtually the same problems as me. He gets up there in a wheelchair! But I couldn’t do that.”
He also said not being able to say goodbye to his fans was “one of the things I’ve been the most f***ing pissed off at.”
“If I can’t continue doing shows on a regular basis, I just want to be well enough to do one show where I can say, ‘Hi guys, thanks so much for my life.’ That’s what I’m working towards, and if I drop down dead at the end of it, I’ll die a happy man,” Osbourne said at the time.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/rock-and-roll">Sum 41</a> frontman Deryck Whibley has accused his former manager and mentor Greig Nori of sexual and verbal <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sexual-abuse">abuse,</a> starting when Whibley was a teenager.
The Canadian-born singer discusses the allegations as part of his upcoming memoir, “Walking Disaster: My Life Through Heaven and Hell,” which was released on Tuesday. Nori is the frontman of the Canadian band Treble Charger. The two met when Whibley was 16 and Nori was 34, per <a href="https://people.com/sum-41-deryck-whibley-claims-former-manager-sexually-abused-him-8724712">People</a>.
Whibley claimed Nori spoke of a “special connection” they shared and was the first person to give him alcohol. Nori served as a musical inspiration for Sum 41 and eventually became the band&#8217;s manager.
&#8220;Greig had one requirement to be our manager — he wanted total control,” Whibley asserted in the book. “We couldn’t talk to anyone but him, because the music business is ‘full of snakes and liars’ and he was the only person we could trust.”
Whibley accused Nori of “passionately” kissing him when he was 18. The singer claims to have told Nori that he was not gay. Nori allegedly responded by saying most rock stars are “queer&#8221; and that &#8220;most people are bisexual; they’re just too afraid to admit it,” according to the <a href="https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/music/story/2024-10-07/sum-41s-deryck-whibley-alleges-sexual-abuse-by-former-manager-in-new-memoir-walking-disaster">Los Angeles Times</a>. They began to have sexual encounters, Whibley claimed.
&#8220;He was so relentless and convincing that after a while, I started to believe that maybe he was right,&#8221; Whibley wrote in his memoir.
 Nori also allegedly told Whibley that he wasn&#8217;t gay either, but said Whibley &#8220;brought it out in him because what we had was so special.&#8221; Whibley wrote about how Nori became angry and called him “homophobic” for trying to end the sexual encounters.

The Sum 41 singer said he told his ex-wife, singer Avril Lavigne, about the abuse while they were dating and also told his current wife, model Ariana Cooper. He said both women agreed that Nori’s alleged behavior was abusive. 
Whibley wrote that Cooper said, “He groomed you from a young teen and mentally forced you. You said no, you didn’t want to do this anymore, and he told you it had to continue or you would lose everything. That’s psychological, mental, and physical abuse.”
The recording artist wrote about how the alleged sexual abuse ended but verbal abuse continued until Nori was fired by the band in 2004.

Legendary British rock band <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/music">Pink Floyd</a> has agreed to sell its music rights and name-and-likeness rights to Sony Music for approximately $400 million after years of speculation.
Sources confirmed the news to <a href="https://variety.com/2024/music/news/pink-floyd-sells-music-rights-to-sony-400-million-1236165925/">Variety</a> on Wednesday. The deal was made after years of disagreements between band <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/music-industry">songwriters</a> Roger Waters and David Gilmour, drummer Nick Mason, and the estates of keyboardist Richard Wright and singer-songwriter Roger “Syd” Barrett, one of the band’s founding members.
Name and likeness rights will include all merchandising rights, making this one of the most lucrative deals in the industry. The Pink Floyd recorded music catalog includes popular albums such as “Dark Side of the Moon,” “The Wall,” “Wish You Were Here,” “Animals,” “Meddle,” “Piper at the Gates of Dawn,” “More,” and others.
The outlet noted that Pink Floyd’s catalog has been for sale for years with an asking price of $500 million. However, the sale was complicated by infighting among band members and the public’s opinion of Roger Waters making controversial political statements against both Israel and Ukraine, which is rumored to have made potential buyers hesitant to close the deal. 
Waters also <a href="https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/roger-waters-ukrainian-kill-list-1234604081/">told</a> Rolling Stone during a 2022 interview that the United States is “the most evil [country in the world] of all by a factor of at least 10 times.”

Pink Floyd was formed in London in 1965 and is considered one of the most progressive rock bands of all time. The band has gone through a lot of drama over the years as disagreements raged among the members. Wright left Pink Floyd in 1981, and Waters followed in 1985. Wright later came back and rejoined.
The albums “The Dark Side of the Moon” and “The Wall” were inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. These two LPs, along with “Wish You Were Here,” are among the best-selling albums of all time. In total, Pink Floyd’s albums have sold 75 million copies in the U.S., making it the 10th most of any artist, according to the Recording Industry Association of America.
The acquisition of Pink Floyd’s catalog is one of several high-profile buys for Sony, who also recently acquired Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, and Queen’s non-North American rights in the past few years, per Variety.

The Queen <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/music">music catalog</a> is soon to be acquired by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">Sony Music</a> for an astronomical sum, according to recent reports.
Two sources told <a href="https://variety.com/2024/music/news/queen-catalog-acquired-by-sony-music-1-billion-1236042619/">Variety</a> that the sale worth a rumored $1.27 billion is in the works. Per Hits Daily Double, the original outlet that broke the story, the only revenue not included in the deal is live performances by two of the band’s founding members, who tour with singer Adam Lambert.
The outlet noted that another interested buyer tapped out when the figure reached $900 million.
This acquisition includes a plethora of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/music-industry">money-making songs</a>, which is what attracted such high sales figures. Internationally recognized classics, including “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Another One Bites the Dust,” and “Radio Ga Ga&#8221; are all part of the deal. The hit Queen singles “We Will Rock You” and “We Are the Champions” are frequently played at sporting events.
Queen is a British rock band founded in 1970. The founding members included Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals), and Roger Taylor (drums, vocals). John Deacon (bass) joined the group later.
The band is one of the best-selling music artists in the world. Queen received the Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001. Each band member composed at least one hit single, leading to all four members being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2003.
Variety noted that Disney owns Queen’s recorded-music rights for the U.S. and Canada, which the company bought in the early 2000s. Disney would keep those rights, but some of the band members’ hefty royalties being paid out by Disney would now go to Sony, as would the group&#8217;s distribution deal and rights outside those two countries.

For example, the 2018 biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody” about Mercury’s life <a href="https://www.boxofficemojo.com/release/rl3439363585/">pulled in</a> more than $900 million against a $52 million production budget. 
Sony is notoriously quiet about their big acquisitions, which, in the past, included Bruce Springsteen’s publishing and recorded-music rights and Bob Dylan’s recorded-music rights, the outlet noted. Neither of those deals were ever officially confirmed but have been suspected for years.

The 74-year-old singer hit the stage in Phoenix wearing a red flannel shirt and dark jeans and looking very pale with white hair. But it was his face that got everyone talking, with some suggesting he looked like comedian Ellen DeGeneres and others saying he looked more like actress Tilda Swinton, the <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/03/21/entertainment/bruce-springsteen-unrecognizable-on-tour-tilda-swinton-ellen-degeneres-comparisons/">New York Post</a> reported.
&#8220;Is that Ellen DeGeneres,&#8221; one person wrote on social media.
Another added, &#8220;I&#8217;m not even trying to be funny when I say I thought this was Megan Rapinoe.&#8221;

While a third wrote, &#8220;That&#8217;s Tilda Swinton&#8221; and a fourth added that they thought the &#8220;Born In the USA&#8221; singer &#8220;looks freaking terrible.&#8221;
The show in Arizona marked the first time Springsteen had performed on stage with his E Street Band since September 2023. Last year, the &#8220;Dancing In The Dark&#8221; hitmaker announced that he was postponing the remainder of his 2023 tour dates.
In a post on <a href="https://x.com/springsteen/status/1707064991172476946?s=20">X</a> to his 1.3 million followers, the singer said per &#8220;doctor&#8217;s advice,&#8221; he was postponing all remaining shows until next year as he continues &#8220;to recover steadily from peptic ulcer disease&#8221; and continues treatment. He had previously postponed his August and September shows.
&#8220;All remaining 2023 tour dates for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will be postponed until 2024,&#8221; the message read. &#8220;When the new 2024 dates are announced, those unable to attend on the new date who purchased their tickets through official ticketing companies have 30 days to request a refund. All tickets for postponed performances will remain valid for the newly announced dates.&#8221;

&#8220;Phoenix, first I want to apologize if there was any discomfort because we had to move the show last time,&#8221; Springsteen told the crowd. &#8220;I hope we didn&#8217;t inconvenience you too much.&#8221;
Springsteen and the E Street band are set to tour for the rest of 2024, ending up in 17 countries across 52 dates between now and November, the New York Post noted.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/music-industry">Eagles</a> founder Don Henley is expected to take the stand as the criminal trial begins on Wednesday for three men accused of stealing and attempting to sell handwritten <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/music">lyrics</a> to classic rock songs, including the iconic “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">Hotel California</a>.”
The manuscripts, including more than 80 pages, are collectively valued at more than $1 million, per the Manhattan District Attorney, as Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/eagles-hotel-california-criminal-trial-stolen-lyric-pages-about-the-names-involved-a-gold-mine">reported</a>. 
Defendant Ed Sanders is accused of stealing notepads from The Eagles while working on a biography about the band in the &#8217;70s. The book never made it to print. Sanders reportedly kept the manuscripts and sold the documents to rare book dealer Glenn Horowitz for $50,000.
Horowitz next sold some of the documents to former Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame curator Craig Inciardi and collector Edward Kosinski.
The three men pleaded not guilty to conspiracy and other charges. Their lawyers said the case “alleges criminality where none exists and unfairly tarnishes the reputations of well-respected professionals,” per the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/hotel-california-lyrics-manuscript-trial-eagles-henley-8ec3a28657365ecce6bfd4003ead494a">Associated Press</a>. 
Sanders made different claims about how he came to have the pages in his possession, saying at different points that he found them in a backstage dressing room and that he got them from Eagles co-founder Glenn Frey, who died in 2016.
Henley discovered what was going on and purchased the handwritten “Hotel California” lyrics for $8,500 in 2012, the indictment says, while simultaneously reporting the pages as stolen.
Later, Koskinski tried to sell written lyrics for “New Kid in Town” to Sotheby&#8217;s in 2014. He and Inciardi continued trying to sell other pages the following year. In 2016, the DA recovered some of the pages from Sotheby’s and Kosinski&#8217;s New Jersey residence.
&#8220;When Don Henley learned that Inciardi and Kosinski were trying to sell portions of the manuscripts, he filed police reports, told the defendants that the materials were stolen, and demanded the return of his property,&#8221; a statement from the DA’s office said. &#8220;Rather than making any effort to ensure they actually had rightful ownership, the defendants responded by engaging in a years-long campaign to prevent Henley from recovering the manuscripts.&#8221;

&#8220;Shortly thereafter, Horowitz attempted to exploit the recent death of founding Eagles member Glenn Frey to prevent criminal prosecution; he produced a new false statement of provenance, this time claiming that the materials originated from the now-deceased Frey,&#8221; the statement continued. &#8220;In one email message, Horowitz observed that &#8220;[Frey] alas, is dead and identifying him as the source would make this go away once and for all.&#8221;
The three defendants opted to forgo a jury, meaning Judge Curtis Farber will decide the verdict.

The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/music">band</a> KISS just played their last live <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">show</a>, but promised they’d be back as digital avatars.
The band concluded their &#8220;End of the Road&#8221; farewell tour in New York City at Madison Square Garden by revealing the new <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/technology">digital images</a> onstage.
&#8220;We can be forever young and forever iconic by taking us to places we&#8217;ve never dreamed of before,&#8221; KISS bassist Gene Simmons said in an announcement <a href="https://vimeo.com/890053166/432d6a9749">video</a> release over the weekend. &#8220;The technology is going to make Paul (Stanley) jump higher than he&#8217;s ever done before.&#8221;
The avatars were created by George Lucas&#8217; visual effects company, Industrial Light and Magic, and Pophouse Entertainment. The digital versions of each musician were made using motion capture technology.
“Today, A New Era Begins. #KISSARMY, the end is only the beginning! KISS have been immortalized and reborn as avatars to rock forever. #KISSNEWERA,” the X post from the band&#8217;s official account said.

&#8220;Oh boy, we can pay even more money not to hear real people sing live,&#8221; another <a href="https://twitter.com/OuchYOMH/status/1731177564167684193">agreed</a>. 
A third account <a href="https://twitter.com/nexusothecrisis/status/1731181735344214160">posted</a>, “Scrap this plan and have Tommy and Eric lead a new band. This is&#8230;weird,” referring to lead guitarist Tommy Thayer and drummer Eric Singer.
Not everyone hated the idea, however. Some were open to seeing KISS perform as digital avatars.
&#8220;This new hologram project won&#8217;t be able to replicate the feel of an original live show, but I think it is a great idea for a show that keeps the legacy alive after the band is over,” one Instagram comment said.
KISS won’t be the first band to attempt to use this new technology to keep touring without going on the road. ABBA kicked off their “Voyage” virtual concert in 2022 in London using the same type of digital avatars created by Industrial Light and Magic. 
Variety reviewer Mark Sutherland <a href="https://variety.com/2023/music/news/abba-voyage-virtual-concert-tour-1235541368/">wrote</a> of the ABBA show, “At first, the movements seem a little too jerky, the lines a little too obvious. But then, just as when you saw the initially-somewhat-unconvincing dinosaurs in ‘Jurassic Park’ for the first time, your eyes adjust, the willing suspension of disbelief kicks in, and they begin to feel like living, breathing musicians, rather than the product of 160 motion capture cameras and one billion computing hours by Industrial Light &amp; Magic.”

The &#8220;Jolene&#8221; hitmaker previously told the <a href="https://www.tennessean.com/story/entertainment/music/2023/11/17/how-dolly-parton-cemented-her-rockstar-legacy/71528940007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tennessean</a> that she &#8220;wanted to make a record of major rock classics that reflected those songs, true to the rhythm, in my voice.&#8221;
&#8220;I did my dead-level best to make an album I and the people whose songs I covered could be proud of — and I think (what resulted) is some of my best work,&#8221; she added. &#8220;I may get praised or criticized for this album, but nobody can say I didn&#8217;t give it all I had.&#8221;
The idea to make a rock album was sparked after the &#8220;9 to 5&#8221; star was nominated and later inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which she initially tried to prevent, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dolly-parton-reacts-to-making-it-into-the-rock-and-roll-hall-of-fame" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
&#8220;And I appreciate the Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame people for staying there with me,” the country superstar shared. &#8220;I never meant to cause trouble or stir up any controversy.&#8221;
&#8220;It was just always my belief — and I think millions of other people out there too — always thought the Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame was just set up for the greatest people in the rock &#8216;n&#8217; roll business, and I just didn&#8217;t feel like I really measured up to that and I don&#8217;t want to take anything away from the people that have worked so hard.&#8221;

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/country-music">Country music</a> legend <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/dolly-parton">Dolly Parton</a> said she’s been offered the chance to perform at the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/super-bowl">Super Bowl</a> many times, but so far has always turned it down.
The 77-year-old Tennessee native discussed her reasons during an <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/dolly-parton-interview-new-album-rockstar-superbowl-halftime-show-1235634785/">interview</a> with The Hollywood Reporter that was published Thursday.
“I couldn&#8217;t do it because of other things, or I just didn&#8217;t think I was big enough to do it — to do that big of a production,” Parton told the outlet.
“When you think about those shows, those are big, big productions. I&#8217;ve never done anything with that big of a production,” she added. “I don&#8217;t know if I could have. I think, at the time, that&#8217;s what I was thinking.”
Parton will release her first <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/rock-and-roll">rock and roll</a> album, “Rockstar,” on November 17. In light of the genre change, the singer said she’d consider doing a bigger show.
“I might be able to do a production show,” she said of promoting that music.
Parton also said she originally turned down an invitation to be part of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
“They&#8217;re going to put me in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and somebody like Meat Loaf or some of these other great artists never even made it? I didn&#8217;t want to take away from somebody that has spent their life in that world like I had spent mine in country [music],” the 10 time Grammy winner said of getting the invite.

Eventually, she agreed to accept the honor after taking a closer look and who else was part of it.
“They told me all the ways that people’s music has influenced other people around the world … and told me about other people that were in it besides rock. Then I accepted it,” Parton told the outlet.
“But I still didn’t feel great about it. I still thought I needed to earn it,” she continued. “That’s why I thought, ‘Well, timing is perfect. There’s a real reason for me to do this rock ’n’ roll album. Here I am a rock star at 77.’”
“Rockstar” will feature 30 rock classics and original songs, including collaborations with Paul McCartney, Elton John, Stevie Nicks, Sting, Joan Jett, Kid Rock, Emmylou Harris, Ringo Starr, Steven Tyler, Melissa Etheridge, and others.

Decades after shelving music written and sung by John Lennon, the remaining members of The Beatles announced on Thursday they have a release date for &#8220;Now and Then&#8221; — a song that one of the most influential bands of all time says will be their last.
&#8220;Together and apart, The Beatles have always had a talent for the unexpected,&#8221; the group said in a <a href="https://www.thebeatles.com/announcement" target="_blank" rel="noopener">news release.</a> &#8220;And now, 2023 brings one of the most anticipated releases of their long and endlessly eventful history.&#8221;
On November 2, The Beatles&#8217; final song will be available worldwide digitally and as a double A-side single on 7&#8243; vinyl, 12&#8243; vinyl, and cassette, paired with the iconic group&#8217;s debut single &#8220;Love Me Do&#8221; released in 1962.
The song features vocals from Lennon and electric and acoustic guitar performed by George Harrison, who recorded his tracks six years before he passed away from lung cancer in 2001. Sir Paul McCartney recorded bass, guitar, and piano while Sir Ringo Starr laid down new drum tracks for the 45-year-old song.
McCartney also added a slide guitar solo inspired by Harrison.
According to the news release, Lennon first recorded the demo track with vocals and piano in his home in New York&#8217;s Dakota Building in 1978 — two years before he was fatally shot outside his residence on 72nd Street in the Upper West Side neighborhood of Manhattan.
Nearly 20 years later, his wife, Yoko Ono Lennon, gave the recordings to former bandmates Harrison, McCartney, and Starr.
After recording additional parts and completing a rough mix for the track, the remaining trio of the group put &#8220;Now and Then&#8221; on hold due to technological limitations that prevented separating Lennon&#8217;s vocals and piano to create a clear sound needed for the final cut.
Fast forward to 2022, after new audio software developed for Peter Jackson&#8217;s documentary &#8220;The Beatles: Get Back&#8221; allowed the filmmaker&#8217;s team to isolate instruments and vocals, Jackson and his sound team, led by Emile de la Rey, applied the same technology to Lennon&#8217;s original home recording to preserve the clarity and integrity of his vocals.
&#8220;There it was, John&#8217;s voice, crystal clear,&#8221; McCartney said. &#8220;It&#8217;s quite emotional. And we all play on it, it&#8217;s a genuine Beatles recording. In 2023 to still be working on Beatles music, and about to release a new song the public haven&#8217;t heard, I think it&#8217;s an exciting thing.&#8221;
McCartney cleared up some confusion earlier this year about whether The Beatles used artificial intelligence on Lennon&#8217;s posthumous voice after announcing he and Starr were preparing for a pseudo-comeback.
&#8220;We cleaned up some existing recordings — a process which has gone on for years,&#8221; he <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/paul-mccartney-clears-up-ai-rumors-surrounding-upcoming-beatles-record" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in part, debunking the greatly exaggerated rumors that audio engineers artificially or synthetically altered Lennon&#8217;s voice for the record.
&#8220;It was the closest we&#8217;ll ever come to having him back in the room, so it was very emotional for all of us,&#8221; Starr said in the latest news release. &#8220;It was like John was there, you know. It&#8217;s far out.&#8221;
Since the 1960s, the English rock group from Liverpool has shaped the counterculture movement for popular music as an art form. Throughout their career, the Beatles&#8217; main catalog between 1962 and 1970 consisted of 12 studio albums with over 200 mostly original songs.
With McCartney, 81, and Starr, 83, claiming &#8220;Now and Then&#8221; marks their last record ever, the announcement signals the end of an era for rock and roll music fans everywhere.
Following the release of &#8220;Now and Then&#8221; and &#8220;Love Me Do,&#8221; the Beatles&#8217; said a music video for the title track will debut on November 3.
One week later, the band will release expanded reissues of 1962-1966 (The Red Album) and 1967-1970 (The Blue Album) with the addition of their final song.
