We&#8217;re at the point where pretty much every square-inch of the Shiloh Hendrix racial slur controversy has been debated and overanalyzed ad nauseam. It&#8217;s an n-bomb that, we&#8217;re told, rivals the destructive power of anything we dropped on Hiroshima or Nagasaki. But despite all of the coverage, probably the single most important aspect of the story — which is how exactly Minnesota woman Shiloh Hendrix ended up in a playground with two individuals &#8220;of Somali heritage&#8221; in the first place — still hasn&#8217;t been widely discussed. And that&#8217;s too bad, because that&#8217;s the part of the story that elevates it beyond a discussion about Shiloh Hendrix and language policing. It&#8217;s a question that has significant relevance to every American citizen. So it&#8217;s worth asking: Why exactly were those two individuals 8,000 miles away from Somalia?  And what are so many Somalis doing in this country, and in particular in Minnesota?
We&#8217;ll start with the specific location of this now-infamous incident, the city of Rochester. Rochester is the third-most populous city in the state of Minnesota. It originated as a humble stagecoach stop for travellers between St. Paul and Iowa before a part-time farmer and surgeon named William Mayo put the town on the map. During the Civil War, Mayo (who was born in England) moved to Rochester and began examining draftees to the Union army. Within a few years, he established what would become the Mayo Clinic — which now consistently ranks as the best hospital in the country, if not the world. Rochester, in other words, is an example of American excellence. To the extent that foreign nationals moved into Rochester, like William Mayo, it was to make the city a much better place for everyone.
But somewhere along the way, starting in the past few decades, the people running the state of Minnesota, including Tim Walz, decided to import a large group of people — not to improve the lives of American citizens in Rochester, but to secure a new and very loyal constituency. In particular, tens of thousands of refugees from the African nation of Somalia began pouring into the state, and many of them settled in Rochester. In fact, so many Somalis have now settled in Rochester that the city recently opened an entire community center just for them. Watch:

When William Mayo moved into Rochester, of course, he didn&#8217;t demand a community center for British citizens. He didn&#8217;t call for a segregated location where they could talk among themselves, away from those dastardly Americans. And he certainly didn&#8217;t start some fake &#8220;nonprofit&#8221; to do so, in order to secure a lot of taxpayer money and some write-offs. Instead, he did something productive. He built a medical practice that benefited the entire community and ultimately the entire world.

But that&#8217;s not remotely what Rochester&#8217;s Somali population is interested in doing. Instead, they&#8217;ve created a web of nonprofits, to the point that every single news report involving Somalis in Rochester will inevitably mention a nonprofit at one point.
Here&#8217;s yet another example. This is a news report in which Somalis in Rochester celebrate their own country&#8217;s independence — not America&#8217;s independence, but Somalia&#8217;s independence. Watch:

Minnesota is the &#8220;Second home&#8221; of Somalis, as you just heard. Therefore, they have their own independence day and their own soccer championship. They host events for their own country because they understand, very well, that they aren&#8217;t part of the United States. And they don&#8217;t want to be.
Instead, the Somali population of Minnesota has committed itself to defrauding this country at every available opportunity. They have imported every bit of the corruption and wide-scale fraud that has destroyed Somalia.
In 2022, prosecutors announced <a href="https://x.com/siegfriedmuell/status/1918865673792418239">federal charges</a> against dozens of defendants who ripped off a federally-funded child nutrition program during the pandemic, to the tune of 250 million dollars. They claimed they served meals, and then they didn&#8217;t actually serve them. We&#8217;re talking about more than <a href="https://minnesotareformer.com/2024/05/23/somali-nonprofit-got-a-million-dollar-cut-from-feeding-our-future-prosecutors-say/">70 defendants</a> here, and most of them were Somalis.
As the <a href="https://minnesotareformer.com/2024/05/23/somali-nonprofit-got-a-million-dollar-cut-from-feeding-our-future-prosecutors-say/">Minnesota Reformer</a> states:
<blockquote>A dizzying array of nonprofits were created or revived to participate in a U.S. Department of Agriculture program to provide free meals to children during the pandemic. &#8230; Two Minnesota nonprofits are at the center of the case — Feeding Our Future and Partners in Nutrition — in what prosecutors say was the nation’s biggest pandemic relief fraud.  &#8230;  An FBI forensic accountant testified Wednesday that the largest food distribution site out of the 50 sites connected to the defendants was at the Dar Al-Farooq mosque in Bloomington, where they claimed to serve 1.9 million meals in 2021, for $4.9 million in reimbursement.</blockquote>
This fraud, unsurprisingly, was apparently enabled by Democrats in the Minnesota legislature.
As the outlet <a href="https://minnesotareformer.com/2024/05/23/somali-nonprofit-got-a-million-dollar-cut-from-feeding-our-future-prosecutors-say/">reports</a>:
<blockquote>Rep. Hodan Hassan withdrew two bills that would’ve given the [Somali nonprofit called &#8220;Somali Community Resettlement Services&#8221;] a total of $6.5 million in grants. &#8230; Evidence prepared for the federal trial linked the nonprofit to the Feeding Our Future case. &#8230; It sponsored eight distribution sites in Minnesota cities where the defendants claimed to serve thousands of meals and snacks daily in 2020 and 2021, for which it was reimbursed over $2.9 million. Of that, the Somali nonprofit paid the defendants and their various entities purporting to be serving meals $1.83 million, meaning it kept nearly $1.1 million.</blockquote>
In other words, the Somali population of Minnesota isn&#8217;t just ripping off American taxpayers. They&#8217;re electing corrupt representatives who are helping facilitate the fraud, one way or another. To be clear, unpacking all of the various fraudulent operations at work here would take about five years, so I&#8217;m not going to attempt it. Instead I&#8217;ll focus on one aspect of this story, which really highlights the comical and absurd level of corruption at work here.
During one of these trials, some of the defendants hatch a plan to bribe a juror with $200,000. They decide to just drop it at the juror&#8217;s front door, along with a note explaining that it&#8217;s a bribe. So it&#8217;s not the most subtle operation. But then a funny thing happens. As the courier is taking the money to the juror&#8217;s front porch, she skims $80,000 from the bribe money and keeps it for herself, without telling her co-conspirators. 
So even the Somalis are scamming other Somalis here. Watch:

You have to imagine this kind of thing happens constantly in Somalia, and in places like Rochester. Bribery is a common part of the culture in Africa. I’ll never forget landing in the airport in Nairobi a few years ago and having officials at the airport demand a bribe like 5 minutes after we got off the plane. If you drive anywhere in these African countries, it&#8217;s recommended that you have cash on you to pay bribes to the cops in case you get stopped. Like I said, it&#8217;s part of the culture there. And now it&#8217;s part of the culture in Minnesota. Whenever fraudsters are extremely brazen about their crimes, it usually means that they&#8217;ve done it many, many times before without any consequences. In this case, they just happened to run into a juror with a basic sense of morality. And of course, even when they&#8217;re caught, they&#8217;re totally shameless about it. Calling this an endemic problem would be a major understatement.
On Reddit, just to emphasize the point, there&#8217;s a <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/Somalia/comments/124x9l9/question_on_possibly_moving_to_mn/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">topic</a> called: &#8220;Question on possibly moving to Minnesota.&#8221;
Here&#8217;s the question: &#8220;Salaam my brothers and sisters. Thinking about moving to Rochester, Minnesota for a job, is there a large Somali community there?&#8221;
And here&#8217;s one of the top-rated replies: &#8220;From what I understand there is a fairly large Somali community in Rochester. The community is tight knit from what I hear, they’ll even cut you in on their latest scams. Best of luck!&#8221;
One of the reasons this fraud is so prevalent — other than the fact that many Somalis, like Ilhan Omar, despise this country — is that they don&#8217;t have the capacity to do anything else. Something like 54% of Somalis in Minnesota are <a href="https://www.sctimes.com/story/news/local/immigration/2018/02/24/state-demographer-offers-some-context-somali-refugee-poverty-numbers/370507002/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">below</a> the poverty line, compared to 12% of people living in Minnesota overall. Roughly 65% of Somali children live in poverty. The numbers are similar in the UK, where 72% of Somalis live in socialized housing, even though they only make up 16% of the population. There isn&#8217;t a single Western society on Earth that&#8217;s been improved by importing large quantities of Somalis, and the lives of these Somalis aren&#8217;t really improving that much either. They&#8217;re simply bringing corruption, violence and poverty wherever they go.
And they were apparently bringing some antisocial behavior to the playground in Rochester, if Shiloh Hendrix&#8217;s version of events is true. As she put it, a black child, reportedly of &#8220;Somali heritage,&#8221; tried to take items from her bag. Then, after calling the black child a slur in some manner, Hendrix was accosted by a Somali man who&#8217;s completely unrelated to the black child. And that Somali man, as we discussed the other day, has a history of sexual assault allegations that were later dropped in court.
From Shiloh Hendrix&#8217;s perspective, let&#8217;s recap: She wanted to enjoy a day at the park with her child in Rochester. But she couldn&#8217;t enjoy it because, like so many other cities in Minnesota, Rochester has deliberately imported a lot of third-world behavior. Put aside whether she&#8217;s a good person or a bad person, or whether she used a bad word. Instead, put what happened in context. Consider the fact that Minnesota&#8217;s &#8220;Cedar Riverside&#8221; neighborhood has been nicknamed &#8220;Little Mogadishu&#8221; because there&#8217;s so many Somali migrants flooding in. And then consider the fact that Little Mogadishu has seen a 56% increase in violent crime from 2010 to 2018, right when the Somali population was surging. Imagine living through this. Imagine that the local parks — which were once a point of pride for Rochester — are now full of people who are incapable of behaving like they belong in civilization. How exactly would you respond in that scenario?
You&#8217;d probably be exasperated. You might even say something naughty on camera. But if you did say, it really wouldn&#8217;t serve any purpose to blame you. It&#8217;d be like blaming a driver if he crashes in a poorly-designed intersection. Yes, the driver made a mistake. But the real problem, which the government engineered, is what actually needs to be addressed. In the case of Shiloh Hendrix, that&#8217;s not happening.
After my commentary the other day, in which I voiced my support for Hendrix&#8217;s fundraiser as a way of dealing a death blow to cancel culture, I&#8217;ve been accused of belonging to the so-called &#8220;woke right,&#8221; or using &#8220;third rail tactics&#8221; that are typical of the &#8220;woke right.&#8221; No one&#8217;s ever explained what exactly any of these terms mean, or how a monologue in which I explicitly condemned cancel culture could be described as &#8220;woke&#8221; in any meaningful way.
But the point of these allegations about the &#8220;woke right&#8221; isn&#8217;t to make sense. The point is to derail the conversation, so that everyone&#8217;s talking about labels and meta-analysis, instead of Shiloh Hendrix and what&#8217;s happened to cities like Rochester. Without much fanfare, large portions of this country have been converted into miniature versions of Somalia. You can see the evidence everywhere — from community centers to parks to playgrounds.
And if you really want to understand the Shiloh Hendrix story, which not many people do, then you can start by explaining to her — and everyone else in Rochester — what exactly two individuals of &#8220;Somali heritage&#8221; were doing in that playground in the first place. Why exactly are we importing Somalians into this country en masse? In what way has it improved American society? That’s a fair question. It&#8217;s also a forbidden one. Just like it&#8217;s forbidden to state the obvious here: nobody wants to live in a community overrun with Somalian immigrants. If you had a choice to live in a community where 60% of the population is Somalian, or one where zero percent is Somalian, you would choose the latter. Every single person would. And we all know it.
What&#8217;s more, if you had a choice between living next door to Shiloh Hendrix, or living next door to the Somalian accused child abuser who was filming her, you&#8217;d choose Shiloh every time. Every single person would. And we all know it.
So then why are we doing this? Why are going out of our way to make our communities in this country resemble the worst and most dysfunctional countries on the planet? Can you explain that? If you can’t, then you have no business telling anyone who has to live amid this dysfunction what they can and can’t say. Whether that makes me a member of the &#8220;woke right&#8221; or not, I don&#8217;t really care. It&#8217;s true — and everyone living in places like Rochester knows it very well.

Trump border czar <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/tom-homan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tom Homan</a> said this week that he will fully support the local police officers who are being targeted for helping U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement ICE personnel in a New York sanctuary city.
Officers from the Rochester Police Department (RPD) are being targeted by Rochester&#8217;s Democrat Mayor Malik Evans and Police Chief David Smith for responding to a call for backup from ICE agents on Monday, and allegedly handcuffing individuals when on the scene. The department has even opened an internal investigation into the matter.
&#8220;The officers on the scene verbally directed the occupants to get out of the vehicle, and this is against our policy,&#8221; Mayor Evans said at a press conference this week, 13 WHAM News <a href="https://13wham.com/news/local/rochester-police-officers-accused-of-violating-policy-while-assisting-border-patrol-agents" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
&#8220;Our policy is crystal clear. City police officers do not help or participate in federal immigration activities,&#8221; Evans said, referring to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/lawmakers-grill-sanctuary-city-mayors-on-illegal-immigration-live-updates" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sanctuary city policy</a>. &#8220;Every RPD officer — I&#8217;ve instructed the chief — every officer receives more training on general orders to make sure all members are fully aware and fully understand this policy.&#8221;
&#8220;From watching the body-worn camera footage, what is concerning to me is despite the fact that we were called, we went lights and sirens,&#8221; Chief Smith said. &#8220;I see in the video a total lack of urgency on the part of multiple Border Patrol officers at the scene.&#8221;
&#8220;We are not to be handcuffing subjects,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We are not to be doing pat frisks on subjects, and we are absolutely not going to be detaining them or putting them into our cars.&#8221;
Homan has repeatedly offered his support for these officers who helped ICE, saying that he&#8217;s planning to come to Rochester and that &#8220;help is coming.&#8221;
&#8220;I stand with the officers of the Rochester, New York Police Department that answered the emergency assistance call from the U.S Border Patrol,&#8221; the border czar said in a statement on X. &#8220;The men and women of the Border Patrol have never refused the request for assistance from any law enforcement agency when they are available. That is the way it should be. Law enforcement officers should not be abandoned in the time of need because of politics.&#8221;
&#8220;Sanctuary policies endanger our police and the public,&#8221; he added. &#8220;President Trump and AG Pam Bondi are committed to taking them on and so am I. Help is coming!&#8221;

Last weekend, at the University of Rochester in upstate New York, hundreds of posters of Jewish faculty members emblazoned with “Wanted” were posted around the campus.

“The university’s Hillel organization, which represents Jewish students, called the posters ‘deeply disturbing,&#8217;” CNN reported, adding that the Hillel director was one of the targets of the posters.
“Posters and displays affixed in this manner are unacceptable and considered to be vandalism to University property,” University Public Safety Chief Quchee Collins <a href="https://www.rochester.edu/public-safety/community-message-about-vandalism/">stated</a>. “Any activities, including the placement of these posters, that disrupt our normal operations and classroom instruction will not be tolerated. Additionally, it seems that the goal of this vandalism is to intimidate members of our University community, which is an action that runs counter to our Meliora values.”
“No group has claimed responsibility for the actions,” The Rochester Beacon reported. “The Rochester Beacon reached out to UR’s chapters of Students for Justice in Palestine and Jewish Voice for Peace, two groups that have spearheaded the protests on campus, but did not get a response.”

A Minnesota teachers union has reportedly expelled one of its members, a school counselor who blew the whistle on the school district&#8217;s transgender policies.
Elementary student counselor Christina Barton received a letter from her union, the Rochester Education Association informing her that she was being kicked out, <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20240515015012/https://www.postbulletin.com/news/local/rochester-teachers-union-expels-counselor-for-mischaracterizing-the-districts-transgender-guidelines" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://web.archive.org/web/20240515015012/https://www.postbulletin.com/news/local/rochester-teachers-union-expels-counselor-for-mischaracterizing-the-districts-transgender-guidelines&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1715895013138000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1m4phWSLvLBjmxekbrCa-Z">according</a> to local newspaper the Post Bulletin.
The union accused Barton of violating the National Education Association’s “code of ethics,” saying she “mischaracterized Rochester Public Schools policies and practices regarding LGBTQ+ students, spoke negatively of fellow union members, and spread misinformation about transgender youth.”

The union&#8217;s president, Vince Wagner said the union&#8217;s executive board voted to expel Barton earlier this month.
“We had a lot of discussion and deliberation,” Wagner told the Post Bulletin. “It wasn’t something we undertook lightly.”
Barton previously criticized the school district for not informing parents when their children change their gender identity.
She spoke to the school board twice on March 19 and again on May 7, the day before the union expelled her, expressing her concerns about the district&#8217;s <a href="https://cdn.vev.design/private/fqyfdrVOk4g7fDyyD5tPSdtwLKo1/3eue-transgender-student-support-guidelines-2.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://cdn.vev.design/private/fqyfdrVOk4g7fDyyD5tPSdtwLKo1/3eue-transgender-student-support-guidelines-2.pdf&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1715895013138000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3MU5sKXJEdJE60vkf2uV4v">guidelines</a> on trans-identifying students.
“How would a parent know how to request such information if they aren’t aware their child is struggling with gender dysphoria? “Following my public statement to the school board on March 19, I have experienced countless retaliatory responses that are unprofessional, inaccurate, and very hurtful to me as a person as well as a concerned counselor and parent who is merely trying to advocate in the best interests of kids and on behalf of all parents,” Barton said. “I love my students with all of my heart and soul; always have, always will.”

A suspected &#8220;emotionally disturbed&#8221; <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/new-york" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York</a> man crashed a car into an Uber leaving a concert in Rochester on New Year&#8217;s Eve, leaving two dead and more injured.
At around 12:50 a.m., Michael Avery, 35, from Syracuse, drove a rented Ford Expedition, a large SUV, toward a crowd leaving a rock concert by the band Moe at the Kodak Center. About 1,000 people were leaving the venue.
Avery crashed into an Uber carrying a couple, who both died, according to police. The Uber driver survived and was transported to the hospital.
The cars also hit three pedestrians and <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/01/01/us/kodak-center-new-york-car-crash/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">injured</a> a total of nine people.
“The force of the collision caused the two vehicles to go through a group of pedestrians that were in the crosswalk and then into two other vehicles,” Police Chief David Smith said at a press conference Monday.
Both cars erupted into flames, and it took the fire department close to an hour to put out the fire.
Police found at least a dozen gasoline canisters in Avery&#8217;s car and on the ground in the area. The bomb squad and the joint arson task force both responded to the scene.
The crash was investigated as potential domestic terrorism &#8212; although, so far, authorities said they have found no evidence it was an act of terror. Police Chief Smith <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/01/01/us/kodak-center-new-york-car-crash/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> they had found no evidence that Avery acted on “political or social biases.”

Avery died of his injuries at the hospital around 8 p.m. on Monday.
Police reportedly searched his hotel room in Rochester and found a suicide note and journal, although it is not yet clear what information those items contained.
“Obviously I would have been liking to stand at this podium to deliver ‘Happy New Year’ and smile and say good news. But unfortunately today we don’t have good news because we have several individuals whose families’ lives are changed because they will not be here to bring in 2024,” Rochester Mayor Malik Evans <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/01/02/news/two-dead-five-injured-in-fiery-crash-outside-rochester-concert/?utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_campaign=nypost&amp;utm_medium=social" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> at Monday&#8217;s press conference.
Avery&#8217;s family members told police they suspected he had bipolar disorder, although he had never been diagnosed.
The suspect had not had any prior contact with law enforcement, police said.
The rock band performing at the concert venue released a statement expressing their “profound shock and sadness” at the deadly incident.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/science" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Scientists</a> have discovered a new layer of brain anatomy that both protects and monitors the brain.
The meningeal layer that surrounds the brain was previously thought to consist of three individual layers: dura, arachnoid, and pia matter. However, researchers from the University of Copenhagen and the University of Rochester utilized advanced imaging technology to discover an additional layer they call the Subarachnoid LYmphatic-like Membrane (SLYM), <a href="https://www.sciencealert.com/scientists-just-uncovered-a-whole-new-layer-of-brain-anatomy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ScienceAlert reported</a>.

Most of the research on SLYM has been conducted on mice, but the researchers confirmed the layer’s presence in the human brain, too. The SLYM is just a few cells thick and plays a role in the back-and-forth flow of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), acting almost like a filter for the good and bad CSF.
&#8220;The discovery of a new anatomic structure that segregates and helps control the flow of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in and around the brain now provides us much greater appreciation of the sophisticated role that CSF plays not only in transporting and removing waste from the brain, but also in supporting its immune defenses,&#8221; said Maiken Nedergaard, a neuroscientist at the University of Rochester.
Immune cells were discovered in SLYM, indicating that it is a type of mesothelium, which is a membrane that surrounds other human organs such as the heart and lungs. What makes SLYM unique is that it is incredibly thin and delicate, yet it is a tight barrier, EurekAlert! <a href="https://www.eurekalert.org/news-releases/975546" target="_blank" rel="noopener">noted</a>. The immune cells in SLYM keep the central nervous system’s own immune cells out of the brain while simultaneously scanning the brain’s CSF for any signs of infection or other abnormalities, and subsequently flushing them out.
The study, <a href="https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.adc8810">published in Science</a>, indicates that SLYM responds to aging and inflammation. When damage is detected, “&#8230;the number of [immune cells] increases in response to inflammation and aging,” researchers wrote.
More specifically, “SLYM fulfills the characteristics of a mesothelium by acting as an immune barrier that prevents exchange of small solutes between the outer and inner subarachnoid space compartments and by covering blood vessels in the subarachnoid space,&#8221; wrote professor of neuroanatomy at the University of Copenhagen Kjeld Møllgård, M.D., and colleagues.
Additionally, the brain may receive a bit of protection from the skull thanks to SLYM. Various cardiovascular, respiratory, and head movements subject the brain to potential impacts and friction with the skull, but “SLYM may … reduce friction between the brain and skull” during such jarring physiological activity.
The discovery of SLYM opens up a wide breadth of opportunities to investigate the relationship between the brain, central nervous system, and various diseases. Given SLYM’s response to aging and inflammation, diseases like Alzheimer&#8217;s, multiple sclerosis, and central nervous system infections are of particular interest to how the newly discovered membrane may play a role in them. These observations also raise points of reconsideration for how drugs and gene therapeutics are delivered to the brain.

Officers Anthony Mazurkiewicz and Sino Seng were on duty when they were ambushed and shot at by a male, though no suspects are currently in custody, WHEC 10 News <a href="https://www.whec.com/rochester-new-york-news/breaking-two-rpd-officers-injured-and-transported-to-hospital/6531474/">reported</a>.
Tragically, Mazurkiewicz, who was shot in the upper body, died from his injuries at Strong Memorial Hospital. He was a 29-year veteran of the force.

A former New York police chief and longtime Democrat says he is so disgusted with the contempt members of his party have for cops that he is running for Congress as a Republican.
Former Rochester Police Chief La&#8217;Ron Singletary, who is vying to represent the Empire State&#8217;s 25th Congressional District, told The Daily Wire he can no longer support the Democrat Party because of its anti-police rhetoric.
&#8220;The demonization, the demoralization, and the defunding the police rhetoric from the Democratic Party, coupled with other ideologies the Democratic Party started to take on caused me to leave the party,&#8221; said Singletary, 42. &#8220;The Democratic Party was no longer the party that I knew it to be, and no longer the party of my parents.&#8221;
Echoing the <a href="http://content.time.com/time/specials/packages/article/0,28804,1894529_1894528_1894518,00.html">remarks</a> of another lifelong Democrat who left for the GOP, former President Ronald Reagan, Singletary told The Daily Wire he &#8220;didn’t leave the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party left me.&#8221;
&#8220;We live in a country that allows us to change political parties if we no longer agree with the party’s beliefs,&#8221; he said. &#8220;When politicians put politics before people, it’s wrong.&#8221;
Singletary made national headlines two years ago when he stood up to now-ousted Democrat Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren, who was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/mayor-gutted-dept-in-the-name-of-politics-officers-community-speak-out-after-entire-rochester-command-staff-resign">accused</a> of mishandling the racially charged death of black man <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/daniel-prude-police-body-cam-footage-autopsy-released">Daniel Prude</a> and seemingly attempted to pin the blame on the police chief.
Singletary announced his resignation from his post on Sept. 8, 2020, and his entire command staff went with him, in a clear rebuke of Warren. The then-mayor fired Singletary after his resignation announcement.
“As a man of integrity, I will not sit idly by while outside entities attempt to destroy my character,” he <a href="https://www.whec.com/rochester-new-york-news/rpd-chief-larsquoron-singletary-retires-amid-protests/5855709/">said</a> at the time.
Singletary later sued Warren and the City of Rochester for defamation of character, creating a hostile work environment, and wrongful and retaliatory termination. The episode, Singletary said, left him determined to serve the public on his own terms.
&#8220;My desire, my commitment, and my passion to serve has not wavered,&#8221; Singletary said, reflecting on the saga.
The lawsuit was <a href="https://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/news/2022/02/27/laron-singeltary-former-rochester-ny-police-chief-settlement-fired-daniel-prude-running-congress/6963712001/">settled</a> in February, with Singletary being awarded $75,000 and the restoration of his health benefits.
&#8220;For me, it was about the principle of the matter and clearing my name,&#8221; he said. &#8220;You only have one reputation and when it&#8217;s under attack, you must stand up and fight, especially when you are right.&#8221;
In the filing against Warren and the city, Singletary said that he &#8220;repeatedly refused to lie for Mayor Warren,&#8221; adding that &#8220;pressure to support Mayor Warren’s narrative also came from other city officials.”
Trouble has followed Warren in the wake of the Prude incident, with the former mayor pleading <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/democrat-mayor-pleads-guilty-to-campaign-finance-crime-satisfies-gun-child-endangerment-charges">guilty</a> to a campaign finance crime and having her home the target of a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/democrat-mayors-home-raided-in-connection-to-major-drug-bust-husband-hit-with-gun-drug-charges">drug raid</a>.
Singletary, a lifelong Rochester resident, declined to comment on Warren&#8217;s troubles other than to note advice he&#8217;s given to countless young officers.
&#8220;I always told police recruits that we all have varying degrees of intelligence, it&#8217;s judgment that will land us in precarious situations,&#8221; he said.
Now that he&#8217;s switched parties, Singletary mused that the events of the last two years may have simply driven him to where he always belonged. He recalled growing up in a Democrat-identifying household, but one whose values seem a poor match for today&#8217;s version of the party.
&#8220;While growing up in a democratic household, I’ve always held conservative values,&#8221; he told The Daily Wire. &#8220;I grew up in the church and my parents ingrained in me that if you work hard, you can accomplish anything.&#8221;
It was Singletary&#8217;s father who encouraged him to pursue his love of police work at a young age.
&#8220;My brother was the athlete, so my dad bought him all the sports equipment there was,&#8221; Singletary said. &#8220;I wanted to be a cop, so my dad bought me a police radio from Radio Shack.  I would ride my bike throughout city neighborhoods, scanner attached to my belt buckle, going from call-to-call. I would arrive on the call, watch the officers handle the situation from afar, and when they were done, walk up to them, introduce myself, and proceed to ask a ton of questions. It was the best thing in the world to me.&#8221;

Disgraced Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren, a Democrat from New York, agreed to a plea deal on Monday, allowing Warren to bypass trial on numerous charges and escape any potential prison time.
Warren pleaded guilty to an election law crime and got one misdemeanor charge, admitting that she “knowingly and willfully contributed, accepted campaign donations in an amount more than the maximum amount specified,&#8221; <a href="https://www.whec.com/rochester-new-york-news/mayor-warrens-campaign-finance-trial-begins-monday/6259331/">according</a> to WHEC 10 NBC News reported.
Per the deal, Warren, who was beaten in a primary challenge this summer, will have to resign from office one month early, by December 1.
If Warren were to face trial and be convicted, she was facing up to 1 1/3 to 3 years in prison.
The deal Warren struck also satisfies gun and child endangerment charges she racked up in May, following a police raid of her home which was tied to her husband&#8217;s alleged drug crimes.

Warren was shellacked in a primary challenge from fellow Democrat Malik Evans in June.
Before the primary, Warren was indicted on two felony campaign finance charges, which she successfully pleaded down Monday.
Moreover, this summer, the Democrat’s home was raided in connection to a major seven-month-long drug investigation. Former Rochester Police Chief La&#8217;Ron Singletary is suing controversial Democratic Mayor Lovely Warren and the City of Rochester for up to $1.5 million.
Notably, Singletary and the entire command force at the Rochester Police Department (RPD) resigned over Warren&#8217;s handling of the investigation into the death of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/daniel-prude-police-body-cam-footage-autopsy-released">Daniel Prude</a>. After Singletary announced his intention to leave, Warren fired him.
“As a man of integrity, I will not sit idly by while outside entities attempt to destroy my character,” Singletary <a href="https://www.whec.com/rochester-new-york-news/rpd-chief-larsquoron-singletary-retires-amid-protests/5855709/">said</a> at the time he announced his resignation, taking a veiled shot at Warren. “The events over the past week are an attempt to destroy my character and integrity. The members of the Rochester Police Department and the Greater Rochester Community know my reputation and know what I stand for. The mischaracterization and the politicization of the actions that I took after being informed of Mr. Prude’s death is not based on facts, and is not what I stand for.”
Shortly after the announcement, Warren fired Singletary. The former Rochester police chief then <a href="https://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/news/2020/12/16/former-rpd-chief-singletary-claims-mayor-warren-directed-him-to-lie-daniel-prude-case-rochester-ny/3933888001/">filed</a> a notice of claim to the city alleging defamation of character, hostile work environment, and wrongful and retaliatory termination wherein he accused Warren of repeatedly telling him to lie over the Prude case.
“I repeatedly refused to lie for Mayor Warren,” Singletary <a href="https://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/news/2020/12/16/former-rpd-chief-singletary-claims-mayor-warren-directed-him-to-lie-daniel-prude-case-rochester-ny/3933888001/">said</a> in the filing. “Pressure to support Mayor Warren’s narrative also came from other city officials.”

An attorney hired to independently investigate the city&#8217;s handling of the Prude case found in March that the city &#8220;suppressed&#8221; information and many &#8220;untrue statements,&#8221; the report detailed.
&#8220;During a deposition shortly before the attorney general&#8217;s announcement, Singletary answered numerous questions about his knowledge of the events the night Prude had an encounter with officers. He also testified about who he talked to about the case,&#8221; WHEC 10 News explained. &#8220;A lot of the questions were focused on <a href="https://www.whec.com/rochester-new-york-news/singletary-questioned-in-city-council-investigation-into-prude-death/6003041/?cat=565" target="_blank" rel="noopener">two phone calls</a> between Singletary and Warren. In a statement at the time, the city claims Singletary told the mayor that everything had been done &#8216;<a href="https://www.whec.com/rochester-new-york-news/singletary-testifies-in-daniel-prude-investigation/6003349/?cat=565" target="_blank" rel="noopener">by the book</a>.'&#8221;

City spokesman Justin Roj issued a statement in response to the suit which included a blanket statement condemning the RPD for a &#8220;legacy&#8221; of &#8220;untruthfulness&#8221; and accused Singletary of lying.
&#8220;As detailed in recent court proceedings reported today involving other officers, there has been a legacy in the Rochester Police Department of untruthfulness,&#8221; the statement read. &#8220;Mr. Singletary’s testimony to the Special Counsel detailed his own inability to tell the truth, as a simple viewing of his testimony under oath clearly shows. Mr. Singletary failed in his duties as Chief and was rightfully terminated due to those failures.&#8221;
Warren, who suffered numerous high-profile scandals under her tenure, was shellacked in a primary challenge from fellow Democrat Malik Evans in June.
Notably, before the primary, Warren was indicted on two felony campaign finance charges “that threatened to remove her from office if she was convicted,” The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2021/06/22/nyregion/lovely-warren-rochester-mayor-malik-evans.html">reported</a>.
And this summer, the Democrat&#8217;s home was raided in connection to a major seven-month-long drug investigation. Embattled Democrat Mayor Lovely Warren was hit with numerous criminal charges on Friday, related to firearms and child endangerment.
A grand jury indicted Warren and husband Timothy Granison following a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/democrat-mayors-home-raided-in-connection-to-major-drug-bust-husband-hit-with-gun-drug-charges">cocaine bust</a> at the couple&#8217;s residence in May.
&#8220;Both are charged with criminal possession of a firearm, a felony, and two counts each of endangering the welfare of a child and failure to lock/secure firearms in a dwelling, both misdemeanors; according to a statement from the Monroe County District Attorney&#8217;s Office,&#8221; the Democrat &amp; Chronicle <a href="https://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/news/2021/07/16/rochester-grand-jury-indicts-warren-husband-weapons-child-endangerment-charges/7995949002/">reported</a> Friday.
A handgun and semi-automatic rifle were found inside the couple&#8217;s home, where their 10-year-old child lives.

Last month, the embattled Democrat took a shellacking at the polls, losing to a primary challenger, fellow Democrat Malik Evans.
Warren, who was first elected in 2013, said at the time she would not be running on another party line, essentially assuring city councilman Evans to become mayor of Rochester.

Democrat Mayor Whose Police Command Force Quit Hit With Gun Charge, Child Endangerment 

A chaotic scene unfolded this past weekend in Democrat-controlled Rochester, New York, when officers tried to control and arrest an armed wanted man resisting arrest as about a dozen bystanders yelled at officers, hurled insults, and rejected warnings to back away from the incident.
In the video, taken and posted online by a bystander (view below), officers can be heard yelling at bystanders to back up, noting that the male suspect they are battling to the ground, who was wanted for multiple felonies, has a gun.
As officers use force to restrain the suspect to the ground, bystanders continuously walk toward the scuffle and yell at officers for &#8220;choking&#8221; the man and hurl other insults, like, &#8220;s*** my d***,&#8221; and &#8220;y&#8217;all a piece of s***.&#8221; One or more of the bystanders also tell a black officer, &#8220;you&#8217;re black,&#8221; as he tries to backup the bystanders.
“I am deeply disturbed seeing a resident kicked while he was held to the ground,&#8221; <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/democrat-mayors-home-raided-in-connection-to-major-drug-bust-husband-hit-with-gun-drug-charges">embattled Democratic Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren</a> said, WHEC 10 News <a href="https://www.whec.com/rochester-new-york-news/rpd-officer-injured-during-arrest-on-remington-avenue/6132445/">reported</a>. &#8220;We must ensure that our police department always acts to protect and serve no matter how difficult the situation or arrest. I appreciate Chief [Cynthia] Herriott-Sullivan taking quick action to suspend the officer involved and further investigate what occurred.”
Interim Police Chief Cynthia Herriott-Sullivan has already placed one investigator on administrative duty as a review of the interaction is conducted.
One group, though, is offering officers support. The Rochester Police Locust Club issued a statement slamming the rush to demonize officers and emphasized the risk these men and women on the force persistently face, particularly in Rochester.
“Over the weekend we have had at least six police officers injured in several incidents throughout the city,&#8221; the pro-police group <a href="https://www.whec.com/rochester-new-york-news/rpd-officer-injured-during-arrest-on-remington-avenue/6132445/">said</a>. &#8220;Some of those injuries involved the most dangerous situation that a police officer can face when dealing with an armed individual. Unfortunately almost immediately, the public’s attention is drawn to the actions of the police officers. There will always be a review conducted, especially when a police officer uses any type of force.&#8221;
&#8220;What is not being addressed is the close face-to-face encounters with individuals who are armed and are willing to make use of a firearm against a police officer,&#8221; the statement continued. &#8220;When police officers are on the ground fighting with an individual who has a firearm that the officers cannot get control of, the first public alarm should be &#8216;do everything possible to get these individuals off the streets.'&#8221;
“As the officers struggled with an individual in possession of a gun and not secured, bystanders surrounded the officers shouting and taking cell phone videos,&#8221; the Rochester Police Locust Club outlined. &#8220;At any moment, that loaded pistol could have gone off multiple times striking the officers and the individuals that were encroaching on the officers.&#8221;
&#8220;There will be time in any situation to review the actions of police officers using force. The point in time in which an individual is being disarmed is not the time for anyone to interfere. The public needs to stand up now and speak for the victims of gun violence. It is also time to support police officers who are risking their lives taking armed suspects into custody,&#8221; the statement said. &#8220;This past weekend officers were fired on first while taking a dangerous suspect into custody. The second incident officers were able to prevent an armed suspect from firing a loaded weapon as they wrestled on the ground to take him into custody. These incidents involved individuals in which information was gathered to make an arrest. Individuals that were being investigated for firearms related crimes, and at the time of apprehension had loaded firearms in their possession.&#8221;
&#8220;The levels of violence with firearms in this city is unprecedented,&#8221; the group concluded. &#8220;No child, no adult, and no police officer are safe with individuals armed with illegal firearms committing violent attacks in our city. If our streets are not safe, no one is safe.”
