One of the most profound and honest <a href="https://rlo.acton.org/archives/124960-the-strange-death-of-dei.html">conversations</a> I’ve ever had on the subject of DEI came courtesy of a DEI advocate I spoke with last year. I asked her a simple question: if she believed in DEI as a useful element of corporate policy in theory, why is it that so many DEI programs fail in practice? Her honest answer: “We have to be very robust in our methodology, and we haven’t been. Being able to articulate the meaning of the D, E, and I is critical. If you can’t present it to highlight the fundamental good in the training, it doesn’t work.” An obvious answer, perhaps — but a telling one. The reason for the diversity downshift in American culture, in many cases, is a practitioner issue: DEI proponents have, in many instances, failed to make the argument of why such training is a fundamental good. To the contrary, we’re seeing a growing body of evidence that DEI’s fundamental good, just maybe, was profoundly oversold.
On Monday, we got our first look at a critical scientific finding that’s lending new support to the arguments of DEI’s strongest critics — and taking flack from progressive media outlets set on not giving it the coverage it clearly deserves. A <a href="https://networkcontagion.us/wp-content/uploads/Instructing-Animosity_11.13.24.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">study</a> from the Network Contagion Research Institute, released in collaboration with the Rutgers University Social Perception Lab, examined the effects of exposure to training that emphasizes awareness of/opposition to “systemic oppression.” Its goal was answering the question at the core of the DEI debate: do diversity programs that highlight systemic oppression actually reduce bias and improve group dynamics by “increas[ing] empathy,” or do they “increase hostility” towards those that antiracist philosophy paints as oppressive?
The study had subjects read either (1) an essay containing typical antiracist arguments about white supremacy and race discrimination, or (2) a control essay about corn production. After reading, subjects analyzed a race-neutral hypothetical interaction: a student applying to an elite university and having their application rejected by an admissions officer. Subjects who read the antiracist essay, which contained excerpts from antiracist figures such as Ibram X. Kendi and Robin DiAngelo, viewed the student’s rejection through what the study deemed hostile attribution bias, perceiving the admissions officer as discriminatory, unfair, and guilty of ‘microaggressions.’
The subjects who were primed with antiracist literature:
<ul>
<li>Demonstrated an increased willingness to punish the admissions officer in the hypothetical scenario, despite the scenario not mentioning the race of the student.</li>
<li>Viewed real-life court cases as discriminatory that the control subjects perceived as fair</li>
<li>Viewed entire people groups (Hindus) as more racially discriminatory after reading material on caste discrimination</li>
</ul>
The study explained the risk of DEI programs focused on oppressed/oppressor class groupings in the following way: “[DEI] interventions may foster authoritarian mindsets, particularly when anti-oppressive narratives exist within an ideological and vindictive monoculture.” In other words, the oppressor/oppressed distinctions reflected in many modern DEI narratives can actually increase bias, hostility, and attribution of discriminatory beliefs among groups, as opposed to decreasing them. This finding suggests that exposure to ‘antiracist’ narratives decreases people’s ability to view situations rationally; if biased by a preconceived narrative of discrimination, people are more inclined to see discrimination at play in interactions that an unbiased observer might perceive as perfectly fair and reasonable.

Is this survey the nail in the coffin for dwindling DEI programs? Of course not — at the end of the day, it’s just one study within a larger body of literature. But the response of media outlets like the New York Times and Bloomberg, who <a href="https://www.nysun.com/article/press-times-suppress-findings-study-dei-training-amplifies-hostility-instead-reducing" target="_blank" rel="noopener">suppressed</a> coverage of the study, should be an indicator to us as to just how important these findings are. This survey is not business as usual. On the contrary, its findings should be a wake-up call to those who still hold out optimism for DEI efforts as a whole. For years, DEI critics have argued that the narratives of modern ‘antiracism,’ which too often prioritizes identity politics and indefensibly broad generalizations over the necessary nuance of looking at the real world, are unfit for purpose. These findings are incredibly sharp arrows in our quiver.
It’s time for Americans at large, and the institutions and governments that serve them, to put DEI programs under the fine-toothed comb of scrutiny they have always deserved and examine if their fundamental good is really as good as it’s advertised to be. Programs that create and foster hostility on the basis of race fail basic function tests for building society, engendering trust in institutions, and making Americans less divided. And if DEI programs can’t do any of those three, whether in the boardroom, the classroom, or in the government briefing room, it’s time to ask why they exist at all.

TV host <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/mike-rowe">Mike Rowe</a> posed a <a href="https://x.com/mikeroweworks/status/1838959994110349384">question</a> to his X followers about whether Matt Walsh’s treatment of “White Fragility” author Robin DiAngelo was “fair” in his hit film, “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/am-i-racist">Am I Racist?</a>”
Rowe, 62, began by laying out some background. He recalled interviewing Walsh after the release of his 2022 documentary “What Is a Woman?” and noticing backlash from the people who were featured in the film.  
“When [‘What Is a Woman?’] was released, however, many of the people Matt interviewed were angry. They claimed that they had been deceived by the filmmakers, in much the same way Sacha Baron Cohen had duped the subjects in his Borat movies,” Rowe wrote, adding that Walsh is “strongly opposed to transgender surgeries on children, and highly critical of men competing in women’s sports,” but did not tell that to anyone he was interviewing.
Rowe relates how Walsh took a similar approach with “Am I Racist?” in his efforts to expose the grifters of the DEI industry.

“In this film, Matt assumes the identity of a privileged white man who is afraid he might be racist. On his journey to become a more enlightened citizen, he asks another group of experts to help guide him to a more enlightened state,” he wrote in the post. 
“As with ‘What is a Woman?’ Matt doesn’t argue with these experts. He just asks them questions, from the perspective of a guilt-ridden white man who wants to learn how he can be less racist. Well, the experts provide answers that are candid, instructive, and more often than not, hysterical. But once again, the experts are crying foul.”
He said DiAngelo was “especially incensed” and wrote in a letter to followers that she had been “contacted under false pretenses.”
“I realized later that I had been played,” she said in the letter, leading Rowe to wonder if she was correct.
“So, what do you think? Was she? Was Robin DeAngelo unfairly misled?” the “Dirty Jobs” star asked his X followers. “Was it wrong of Matt to pretend that his movie was an attempt to elevate DEI, rather than lampoon it?”
“Personally, I loved this movie for all sorts of reasons,” he added. “Mostly, because I know that I’m not a racist and I have no patience for anyone who claims that they know me better than I do. I also happen to think that ‘White Fragility’ is one of the most divisive, counter-productive, and patently stupid books ever published. But I’m not entirely unsympathetic to Robin’s position.”
Rowe next recalled people in the past using his image “in whatever fashion they wanted to. He said eventually, he became more savvy about how his name and likeness were used, but most people did not because “they really, really, really want to be on TV, or on the big screen, or whatever.”
“Point is, Robin DeAngelo signed a typical talent release, and now, she’s screwed,” he went on. “She can’t very well say she was taken ‘out of context,’ because she wasn’t. Her words and actions in the movie are hers, and she would look even more ridiculous if she said she didn’t mean to say and do precisely what she said and did when she knew the cameras were rolling. But the question remains – was it fair?”
Rowe’s followers came out in force to say that despite how bad it looked for DiAngelo, especially the bit about her paying $30 in reparations out of her own wallet to a black producer on the film, Walsh’s treatment of her was ultimately fair.
“So, if he was 100% upfront and honest about what he was doing, they wouldn’t have cooperated and been 100% honest with him and exposed and embarrassed themselves. That’s their argument. You should’ve been honest with me so I would’ve known to lie to you,” one commenter <a href="https://x.com/BBD100/status/1838993378547306667">wrote</a>.
“Well said, and it was totally fair of Matt to do what he did. Robin has responsibility for herself and her actions. If she didn&#8217;t want to be shown for what she is, then she shouldn&#8217;t have taken the money and done the interview.  She should&#8217;ve read up on due diligence,” another <a href="https://x.com/MrBatman777/status/1838966369762623646">agreed</a>.
“They said and did what they meant to, why do they run and hide from it or scream foul later? Are they embarrassed for acting as they believe? Do they actually believe it at all? These humans are selling BS for fame and profit and it embarrasses them would be my guess,” a third <a href="https://x.com/leonard_per/status/1838968941877555394">said</a>.
“It was fair. She signed the contract,” another commenter <a href="https://x.com/DawnsEcho/status/1838984413700309378">echoed</a>. “In both movies. It’s no one’s fault but their own that they come off looking ridiculous. It’s because they are ridiculous. They got to see how ridiculous they are, and they got embarrassed and mad.”

Future educators are instructed in the work of “White Fragility” author <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/robin-diangelo" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Robin DiAngelo</a> in over a dozen universities across the country, according to Parents Defending Education.
The revelation was included in a recent <a href="https://defendinged.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/PDE_CorruptED.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> from Parents Defending Education, a group focused on ridding ideology from education, that took a deep dive into education class syllabi from 67 universities across the 34 states. The report found that Critical Race Theory and anti-white rhetoric was deeply embedded into the coursework of America’s future educators.
In course description syllabi, Parents Defending Education found 54 references to Critical Race Theory, 28 references to critical theory, 18 references to “oppression” and/or “power,” 55 references to Paulo Freire and the “Pedagogy of the Oppressed,” 16 references to Robin DiAngelo, 34 references to “queer” or the tenets of queer theory, 31 references to white privilege, 20 references to white supremacy, and 28 references to whiteness.

DiAngelo, who is featured in Daily Wire host Matt Walsh’s new documentary “Am I Racist?,” is well-known for promoting the idea that all white people are racist.
Her work is taught in at least 16 of the universities surveyed, including the University of Southern California, the University of Florida, the Chaminade University of Honolulu College of Education, the University of Maryland, the University of Michigan, Missouri State University, the University of New Hampshire, Ohio State University, the University of Pittsburgh, the University of Wisconsin Stevens-Point, and others.
Parents Defending Education researcher Rhyen Staley told The Daily Wire that it was inappropriate for students to be instructed in Robin DiAngelo&#8217;s work.
&#8220;The fact that current and future K-12 teachers are being conditioned to believe that Robin DiAngelo&#8217;s destructive ideas are &#8216;best practice&#8217; is deeply troubling,” he said. “A significant amount of America&#8217;s youth cannot read at grade level, yet Colleges of Education are dedicating time and resources to promoting DiAngelo&#8217;s philosophy of resentment and loathing based on immutable characteristics. DiAngelo&#8217;s hatecraft has no place in any academic setting.&#8221;
The report from Parents Defending Education highlights several other ideologically-focused classes, including a class <a href="https://onepenn.gse.upenn.edu/student-records-registrar/course-registration/4-digit-course-number-information" target="_blank" rel="noopener">offered</a> at the University of Pennsylvania called “Activism Beyond the Classroom.” The <a href="https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5ad0d247af209613040b9ceb/t/5fc682379ee0f32b87363416/1606844983883/Working+ABC+Syllabus+Fall+2019.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">themes</a> of the class include abolitionism, activism, Black Lives Matter, critical pedagogy, decolonization, and queer theory.
At the University of Utah, the education branch has offered classes like “Racial Battle Fatigue in Education,” “Whiteness Theory and Education,” and “Critical Race Theories: A Focus on FemCrit and LatCrit.”

Students attending Colorado State University can get an ethnic studies degree with teacher certification with an “Intro to Ethnic Studies” class <a href="https://defendinged.org/incidents/colorado-state-university-corrupted/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">where</a> they can learn about “whiteness,” “white privilege,” and “Trump and the politics of hate and White radicalism.”
The activist-focused classes are not only in blue states, but even present at institutions in conservative states like Alabama, Mississippi, and Ohio.
For example, a <a href="https://jpetrovic.people.ua.edu/uploads/4/8/4/7/48477307/667forweb.pdf">class</a> called “Multicultural and Social Education for Leadership Personnel” at the University of Alabama includes themes on anti-racism, decolonization, Marxism, and queer theory.
&#8220;Across the nation, parents and policy makers have been pushing back against school districts that have been implementing radical ideologies such as critical race theory, queer theory, decolonization, whiteness, and anti-meritocracy,&#8221; Parents Defending Education said in a summary of its research. &#8220;Unfortunately, these ideas are being ingrained into both current and future teachers, becoming part of K-12 lessons, classroom culture, and worldview.&#8221;

The Daily Wire’s “Am I Racist?” starring Matt Walsh was the third-highest-grossing film on Friday, out-earning a major studio release showing in more than 2,500 theaters.
“Am I Racist?” which premiered Friday, outgrossed Lionsgate’s “The Killer’s Game,” and was the second-biggest new release of the day. “Am I Racist?,” one of only 15 documentaries ever to open in over 1,500 theaters, also had the third-highest opening day gross for a documentary in the last decade.

Audiences are raving about the film, in which Walsh goes deep undercover to expose the inner workings of the diversity, equity, and inclusion industry. The film has a <a href="https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/am_i_racist" target="_blank" rel="noopener">99%</a> Rotten Tomatoes audience score, and earned an <a href="https://www.cinemascore.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“A” rating from CinemaScore</a>, which grades movies based on audience response. No other new release received an A.
By the end of its second day in theaters, “Am I Racist?” will already be the biggest documentary of the year.

Ninety-five percent of audience members said “Am I Racist?” met or exceeded their expectations, according to PostTrak exit polling. Nearly 70% of viewers said the film was “excellent,” and 57% said they would tell their friends to see it in a theater.
Just over 40% of opening day viewers were under 35. And nearly 40% of the opening day audience was non-white, a fact that may come as a shock to anti-racist activist Saira Rao, who has privately <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/saira-rao-privately-slams-am-i-racist-as-nazi-white-supremacy-film?topStoryPosition=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">slammed</a> “Am I Racist?” as a “Nazi White Supremacy Film.”
Rao is one of several anti-racist activists featured in the film. Another, “White Fragility” author Robin DiAngelo, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/robin-diangelo-breaks-am-i-racist-silence-says-she-got-played-by-borat-style-mockumentary" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told followers</a> that she got played by the “Borat-style mockumentary.” In the film, Walsh convinces DiAngelo to pay his black producer $30 out of her purse as reparations for slavery.
DiAngelo says that “Am I Racist?” is “designed to humiliate and discredit anti-racist educators and activists.” Walsh responded to her critique on X, saying, “She couldn’t be more correct in that assessment.”

‘Am I Racist?’ Opens As Third-Highest Grossing Film In The Country

Matt Walsh&#8217;s new movie, “<a href="https://www.amiracist.com/">Am I Racist?</a>” is out and causing seismic waves throughout the DEI community.
Apparently, there are members of the movie theater employee community who are attempting to stop people from actually seeing the film. One movie theater employee reportedly put out a post saying, “I will be making the transaction as difficult as possible for anyone seeing the Matt Walsh movie.” Another person said, “Can you take the good seats out of service without anyone noticing? Only sell the creatures that crawl out of the mud to see this thing the crap seats.”
The Left is doing its best to prevent people from seeing the film, even at the lowest levels. But it is not stopping the fallout.
One of the funniest scenes in the film is the scene in which Matt sits down with Robin DiAngelo. It is hysterical.
Robin DiAngelo is the author of an incredibly best-selling book titled “White Fragility.” In 2020, during the Black Lives Matter summer, Robin DiAngelo became a big item. Her book sold like hotcakes; it was at the top of the New York Times bestseller list for weeks and sold hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of copies.
And it is complete and utter tripe. It is an awful piece of trash.
I did a 30-minute <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWgnX84KD7A" target="_blank" rel="noopener">takedown</a> of it on YouTube, point by point, through her entire trash book. The book makes no sense. It is selfish. It is self-defeating. The entire book contradicts itself. It is logically incoherent.
It happens to be also particularly ugly because the basic idea is that if you are white, then you are inherently sinful and there is no way to escape that sin except for doing what DiAngelo wants you to do, politically speaking.

So there&#8217;s a scene in the film where Matt and his producers somehow got DiAngelo to sit down with Matt. The premise of “Am I Racist?”is that Matt is a very woke guy who falls into the philosophy of DEI and chases it all the way down the rabbit hole. It’s kind of like a Nathan Fielder movie.
In this particular scene with DiAngelo, he’s sitting with her and let&#8217;s just say that he manipulates her into doing something so insane on camera that it should be career-ending — and she knows it, which is presumably why she has now basically deactivated her Twitter account.
DiAngelo has released <a href="https://www.robindiangelo.com/about-that-film/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a statement</a> slamming Matt Walsh. She vowed in a statement not to watch the film. Here&#8217;s what she said:
<blockquote>Back in 2023, I was contacted by a group who claimed to be making a documentary film called Shades of Justice, about efforts to address racism in the United States. They planned to interview anti-racist activists, authors and thought leaders in service of supporting the cause of racial equity. They offered me between $10-20,000 for an interview. I said let’s meet in the middle with $15,000 and agreed to participate (I have since donated that sum to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund).</blockquote>
I&#8217;m sure that she donated that sum after she found out she was in the film and realized, oh, boy, this is going to be bad.
And it’s weird that she only agreed to be in the film for $15,000, except for the fact that, as Matt&#8217;s movie exposes, this whole thing is a giant grift. DiAngelo has been picking up checks from some of the biggest corporations in America for years to teach absolute horse crap to people. In exchange, she receives the money and the credibility, and then she takes those credentials, “Hey, I taught at Google,” moves on to Apple, and picks up a big stack of cash from them.

Matt presented himself as someone new to antiracist work and seemed earnest, and his questions did not come across as adversarial. By the end, however, things got weird.</blockquote>
That’s the whole point: When doing something like what Matt did, the whole point of it is, what do these people say to each other behind closed doors? You can&#8217;t do that if you enter in an adversarial way. So he asked her questions, and she couldn&#8217;t tell what was going on.
<blockquote>Matt asked what I thought about reparations for Black Americans. I said that I agreed with reparations but that it was not my area of expertise. He then pulled up a chair and invited a Black crew-member who went by “Ben” to sit with us, took out his wallet and handed Ben some cash. He said that if I believed in reparations, I should also give Ben cash. While some Black people have asked white people to engage in reparations by giving directly to individuals, reparations are generally understood as a systemic approach to past and current injustice. The way Matt set this up felt intended to put Ben and I on the spot.</blockquote>
There&#8217;s a problem with this particular statement. Ben happens to be a producer on the film. So it didn&#8217;t put Ben and you on the spot; it put you on the spot because you&#8217;re a hypocrite.
<blockquote>Because Matt was pushing this on us, I expressed my discomfort and checked in with Ben, to be sure he was okay with receiving cash in this way. Ben reassured me that he was, so I went to my wallet and handed him my cash and the interview ended. I was so unsettled by the way Matt manipulated this last scene that I emailed the contact person – who went by the name of “Lee Hampton” – to explain that this scene was not an example of reparations and could mislead viewers. I asked that they not use it in the film and shared several resources overviewing legitimate systemic efforts for reparations. He assured me that he understood and that they had not yet decided whether to address reparations. He never again contacted me or answered an email.
After reviewing the sequence of events and discussing it with colleagues, I realized that they had lied about their agenda and I had been played. I spread the word on my networks. Unfortunately, last month I started receiving hateful and misogynistic emails. Some referenced the Daily Wire (Ben Shapiro’s website), which announced that the film is indeed being released. It is not titled Shades of Justice nor is it meant to support the anti-racist cause.</blockquote>
Yes, because you won&#8217;t speak to anybody who doesn&#8217;t support the anti-racist cause.
<blockquote>It is a Borat-style mockumentary titled Am I Racist? and designed to humiliate and discredit anti-racist educators and activists.</blockquote>
Yes, that&#8217;s accurate. That&#8217;s true.
<blockquote>Their deception was carefully planned and well-funded. The website they had sent me was fake, as were their identities, the project title used in the legal waiver, their description of the project, and the last name they gave for Matt. The interviewer was in fact, Matt Walsh, a far-right provocateur backed by Shapiro and Daily Wire+ (and yes, wearing a wig).
The co-CEO of the Daily Wire has stated: “I can’t think of a more appropriate film for the Daily Wire’s first original theatrical release than Am I Racist? What Is a Woman? changed the national conversation on radical gender theory, effectively killing the issue and DEI is the next pillar of the woke mind virus that’s about to topple. DEI culture is one of the most toxic plagues in American life.”
Am I A Racist? is not only about me and I was not the only one who fell for their deception. Sadly, many of those being mocked are women of Color.
I have not seen the film nor do I plan to watch it, so I don’t know what they have used of my interview or how they have edited it, but if you see clips or the full film, consider the source: Matt Walsh. So, who is Matt Walsh and what is his – and his backers’ – agenda? Luckily for us, he has clearly answered that question, without shame, time and time again. …
Shapiro and Walsh’s previous film Lady Ballers, is filled with misogyny, racism and transphobia. Shapiro also sponsored a film denigrating George Floyd. </blockquote>
Oh, wait, you mean that we said that maybe George Floyd wasn&#8217;t killed by Derek Chauvin, that maybe he died of a drug overdose that was induced by high stress? Wait, you mean like checking the medical evidence? Or maybe we pointed out that George Floyd, in fact, led a pretty checkered criminal life?

They will not prevail in their efforts to stop the work for racial justice.</blockquote>
Well, it seems like we prevailed just a little, since you deactivated your Twitter account. So that’s a little awkward for you.

She claims the movie is ‘designed to humiliate and discredit anti-racist educators and activists.’ She couldn&#8217;t be more correct in that assessment. Thank you, Robin!” <a href="https://x.com/MattWalshBlog/status/1834351941717295182">Then</a>, “My favorite part of this wonderful statement is that she says she noticed my ‘ill fitting wig’ when she first sat down with me. And yet for some reason, she still did the interview.”
Maybe it was the $15,000. Matt also noted that people are very angry at him: “He used methods of deception.”
You mean in a mockumentary in which you expose people? So Matt <a href="https://x.com/MattWalshBlog/status/1834570026428375240" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tweeted</a>, “Many on the Left are criticizing the tactics we use to make our film. Notice how they make no such criticisms about Borat. The difference is that Borat was meant to embarrass normal working class Americans. Our film embarrasses DEI, grifters, academics and upper class liberals. <a href="https://x.com/MattWalshBlog/status/1834571047502286951" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Even Nathan Fielder</a>, who I think is hilarious and brilliant, usually uses these kinds of methods to humiliate average people who haven&#8217;t done anything to deserve the humiliation. The Left is fine with that, too. With our new film, and our last film, we&#8217;re actually punching up. But somehow we&#8217;re the ‘unethical’ ones. Interesting.”
That is exactly right.
The film is already in roughly 1,500 theaters across the country. It has not been reviewed a single time at Rotten Tomatoes. Zero reviews. None. In fact, if you go to the Rotten Tomatoes page, brought to you by Fandango, they have a sort of scrolling wheel here saying, “New &amp; now in theaters,” and it lists every movie except for Matt’s movie. It’s not there. 
They&#8217;re going to try to ignore this the same way they tried to ignore “What Is A  Woman?”
Don&#8217;t let them ignore it.
Go out and see it.

Matt Walsh Destroys The DEI Industry

Today is the day that my new film “<a href="https://www.amiracist.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Am I Racist?</a>” releases in theaters nationwide. This is the most significant moment in my own career personally, and a seminal achievement for all of the incredible people who worked on our film — starting with our director Justin Folk, our producers Sean Hampton, Brian Hoffman, Benyam Capel, and Dallas Sonnier. And of course The Daily Wire and the executive team — Jeremy Boreing, Caleb Robinson, and Jon Lewis, along with Ben Shapiro, who is an executive producer on the film and one of the first people to see the original cut and give us notes. This film would not be what it is now without every person that I listed, and many others that I haven’t listed. I’m not going to read through the whole list. You’ll have to watch the movie and stick around for the credits for that. And by the way: you should stick around for the credits. This isn’t a Marvel movie but we do have our own little post-credit scene you don’t want to miss.
Anyway, the point is that this film was incredibly ambitious from the start. We knew what we wanted to do and what sort of movie we wanted to make, but we had no idea if we could pull it off, especially given my increased profile and notoriety from the success of &#8220;What Is A Woman?&#8221; Some day I can tell the whole story of how exactly we managed to navigate all of the land mines and create the film that you can now watch in a theater near you. I will say that it took significantly longer than I thought, and was even more difficult than I imagined it would be.

When we finished filming, finally, about a year after we shot our first scene, the odyssey had only just begun. Now came time to take this unwieldy, mammoth of a thing, with all of its dozens of hours of raw footage, and shape it into a cinematic narrative. Fortunately, we have a brilliant artist for a director in Marshall Lee, who made this painful process much easier than it had any right to be. We also have Justin Folk, our director, who knows how to comb through footage and find the story. We also spent many cumulative hours in the edit bay and in screening rooms with Jeremy, discussing and debating every last detail of this thing. It was a painstaking and sometimes necessarily painful creative collaboration, but that’s what’s required to make something great. And none of us were going to settle for anything less than great — something we can all be proud of.
Sadly, not everyone involved in this film is proud of it, apparently. Some of my co-stars — the people I shared the screen with — have demonstrated some embarrassment about their role in the movie. In fact, quite tragically, four of the DEI experts I interviewed or featured in the film have deleted their Twitter accounts. A number of them have also denounced the movie in recent days. Kate Slater, the anti-racist educator now famous for discussing the racial implications of Disney princesses, posted on Instagram this week that the movie is a “piece of s***” and she is “going off the radar” to avoid criticism that may arise from it. Meanwhile, one of the hosts of Race to Dinner — Saira Rao — who is featured in one of the pivotal scenes of the film, reportedly condemned the movie during a Race to Dinner digital book club event. She warned people not to see it, calling it a “fascist Nazi white supremacy film.” She claimed that she was “conned” into being in the film. As a con artist herself, of course, she knows a lot about being conned. Though apparently not enough to avoid it happening to her. If we did con her — which of course we did not, for the record. We simply gave her an opportunity to appear in our documentary about anti-racism. An opportunity she was eager to take advantage of. And we did, in fact, make a documentary about anti-racism. No conning involved. I mean, how could Saira Rao accuse me of being a con artist? Who does Saira Rao think I am? Saira Rao?

Finally, just yesterday, Robin DiAngelo issued a statement. It is lengthy. It is also everything that you’d want a statement from Robin DiAngelo to be. Posted to her website on Thursday, her statement is titled: “About That Film…” Here’s what she says, in part: 
<blockquote>Back in 2023, I was contacted by a group who claimed to be making a documentary film called Shades of Justice, about efforts to address racism in the United States. They planned to interview anti-racist activists, authors and thought leaders in service of supporting the cause of racial equity. They offered me between $10-20,000 for an interview. I said let’s meet in the middle with $15,000 and agreed to participate (I have since donated that sum to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund).</blockquote>
Side note: yes, Shades of Justice is one of the organizational names that we used. It doesn’t really mean anything but we figured it’s the kind of meaningless name that would resonate with the woke crowd. And it did. I will also say that I appreciate Robin’s generosity in “meeting in the middle” with $15,000. She really gave us a deal, you see. It was a bargain. Only 15 grand to sit down for an interview. She continues:

Now, let’s stop here again, Robin. First of all, the wig fit very well. That was a nice wig — an authentic wig. It was made from real human hair. I harvested the hair myself from a homeless guy in exchange for a Snickers bar and a bottle of Jack Daniels. Second, more to the point, you claim that you noticed I was wearing a wig the moment you sat down — and yet you still did the interview? In your version of events, the crew was nervous and shifty (which they weren’t), and I was sitting there in my ill-fitting wig, and things felt off. Yet, Robin, you still sat there and talked to me on camera for two hours. Whose fault is that? If what you say is true, then we can only conclude that you were willing to do anything just for the money. Which is basically the whole point of the movie. Thank you for emphasizing it for us.

So let’s back up here and review, again, your version of events, Robin. You walked into the room to do an interview with an organization you knew very little about. Things felt off. The interviewer was wearing a strange wig. Then the interviewer, in this wig, forces a black man to sit down and receive cash reparations. You felt like the whole thing was a setup and intended to put you on the spot… But you still paid the reparations. Even despite all of that, you still paid. That’s your defense. Now, as for me, I don&#8217;t want to give spoilers away for the film. I don’t care how many times some of these spoilers are reported by the media. I refuse, on principle, to officially confirm the legitimacy of any of the spoilers. Everyone will have to go to the theater this weekend to watch “Am I Racist?” for themselves. But if what you say is true, then it would seem to make you not only a fool but a money-grubbing grifter. Which, again, is sort of the point of the film. 
I will say that your assumption that my black friend Ben was manipulated into taking part in this alleged reparations exercise is quite demeaning and infantilizing to him. No great shock coming from the woman who demeans and infantilizes black people for a living. If this reparations thing actually did happen — as you claim — how do you know Ben was not a willing participant? In fact, how do you know that he wasn’t forcing me to do it? Maybe I’m the innocent victim in all of this. Have you thought about that, Robin?

She then goes on to quote the Southern Poverty Law Center’s hit piece on me. They say that I’m a white supremacist shock jock, etc. All in all, much of what she says about me, The Daily Wire, and our film is not true. Especially when she claims that our film was well funded. In fact, this was a very low-budget operation — at least by Hollywood standards. Borat — which she compares our film to — had a budget of around $18 million 20 years ago. Our budget was about 16% of that. From a quality perspective, the film does look much more expensive than that. Which is maybe what Robin DiAngelo was picking up on. And I appreciate the compliment. 
She is completely correct about one thing. She says our intentions are to humiliate and discredit anti-racist educators and activists. On that point, she could not be more right. That is in fact our agenda with this film. We have other things we want to do, too. We want to entertain you. We want to make you laugh. We want to prove that conservatives can successfully make a film like this. The kind of film that, until now, only liberals like Sacha Baron Cohen have pulled off, or even attempted. We have many things we wish to achieve with this movie. But most of all, yes, we want to expose the so-called “anti-racist” movement. We want to humiliate and discredit these grifters. Or, I should say, we want to give them an opportunity to humiliate and discredit themselves. And that is an opportunity that Robin DiAngelo took full advantage of. She only has herself to blame. And you can see it for yourself, right now, in theaters. You really don’t want to miss it.

Social media had a field day with a newly released clip of Daily Wire documentary &#8220;Am I Racist?&#8221; featuring &#8220;White Fragility&#8221; author Robin DiAngelo opting to pay Matt Walsh&#8217;s black producer $30 in racial reparations.
On the heels of &#8220;What is a Woman?&#8221;, &#8220;Am I Racist?&#8221; is Walsh&#8217;s latest documentary, which <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/matt-walsh-tells-ben-shapiro-that-robin-diangelos-embarrassing-moment-made-the-final-cut-of-am-i-racist" target="_blank" rel="noopener">explores</a> the massive grift of the DEI industry with a man-bun-wearing, undercover Walsh.
“On behalf of myself and my fellow white people, I apologize — it is not you, it is us. As long as I’m standing, I will do my best to challenge it,&#8221; Walsh <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/09/08/us-news/white-fragility-author-robin-diangelo-gets-tricked-into-paying-reparations-to-matt-walshs-producer-in-am-i-racist-documentary/">tells</a> his producer, before doling out cash from his wallet as a form of racial reparations. After DiAngelo calls the moment &#8220;weird,&#8221; she&#8217;s unable to combat her own ideology presented to her by Walsh, hustles over to her wallet and gives the producer the cash she has on hand, $30.

Social Media Erupts Over ‘Am I Racist?’ Clip Showing Robin DiAngelo Giving $30 Reparations To Black Producer 

Conservative commentator and podcast host Megyn Kelly had nothing but rave reviews for the upcoming Daily Wire documentary, “Am I Racist?” 
Kelly sat down with creator and Daily Wire host Matt Walsh to discuss what happened behind the scenes, including how Walsh was able to go undercover among the DEI crowd, including “White Fragility” author Robin D’Angelo.
“Everyone must see,” Kelly said. 
“If you watch this movie for no other reason, watch it to see the scene where Matt Walsh, in his man bun, sits down with Robin D’Angelo,” she added. “I died. Honestly, there were so many great moments in there, again I’ll keep them a secret, but one of my favorites was when the issue of what is mansplaining… and let’s just say you’ll laugh just as hard as Doug and I did when you get to that scene.”

Walsh is not in disguise at the beginning of the film, but after being recognized, he goes semi-incognito and dons a tweed jacket, skinny jeans, and a man bun, and carries a man bag equipped with a copy of Ibram X. Kendi’s “How to Be an Antiracist.”
Even with the change in fashion, Walsh still looked like himself. Kelly marveled that he was able to gain access to people like D’Angelo. The best-selling author is currently embattled in a scandal after being <a href="https://freebeacon.com/campus/robin-diangelo-plagiarized-minority-scholars-complaint-alleges/">accused</a> of plagiarism by several scholars, including minorities, in her 2004 dissertation. 
Walsh said he and the film crew used the participants’ “arrogance and false sense of security” to get interviews with people who appear in the film. He said they all live in such a “bubble” and rarely encounter people who disagree with them, which made it easier to infiltrate their ranks without an elaborate disguise.
Kelly also debuted a new clip from the documentary which shows Walsh speaking with anti-racist educator Kate Slater, known for creating what she calls an “anti-racist road map.”

In the clip, Slater complains about her young daughter preferring “white princesses” in Disney movies.
Walsh responded by saying his 3-year-old daughter’s favorite princess is Moana, but said he was fearful of committing “cultural appropriation” by allowing her to dress like Moana for Halloween.
“Do I go and buy the Pacific Islander native attire for my white 3-year-old?” Walsh asked Slater, referring to it as “The Moana Problem.”
“I wouldn’t. I f***ing wouldn’t,” she replied.
“It’s almost like no matter which way you go, you end up back in racism,” the podcaster said.
Slater chalked it up to “living in a white supremacist society.”
“Is America an inherently racist country?” Walsh asked. Slater initially tried to avoid making a declarative statement by focusing on the word “inherent” and saying she couldn’t say that for sure. So Walsh tried another tactic. It was all in service of fulfilling the documentary’s mission of exposing the DEI grift.
After suggesting that America was “fundamentally” racist, Slater agreed.
“Fundamentally, yes, America is racist to its bones,” she said.

If you like your doctors and nurses to show a &#8220;sense of urgency&#8221; when caring for you and your loved ones, you might just be part of &#8220;white supremacy culture,&#8221; according to one prominent medical school.
Duke University School of Medicine <a href="https://medschool.duke.edu/news/school-launches-plan-dismantle-racism" target="_blank" rel="noopener">released</a> a <a href="https://medschool.duke.edu/sites/default/files/2021-08/dismantling_racism_and_advancing_equity_diversity_and_inclusion_ADA.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">strategic plan</a> in recent years claiming that having a &#8220;sense of urgency&#8221; is part of &#8220;white supremacy culture&#8221; and suggesting that forcing this expectation on people of color is &#8220;discriminatory.&#8221;

&#8220;In the workplace, white supremacy culture explicitly and implicitly privileges whiteness and discriminates against non-Western and non-white professionalism standards related to dress code, speech, work style, and timeliness,&#8221; the document reads.
&#8220;Some identifiable characteristics of this culture includes perfectionism, belief that there’s only one right way, power hoarding, individualism, sense of urgency and defensiveness,&#8221; the document adds.
The 2021 guide, which Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/duke-medical-school-claims-timeliness-individualism-part-white-supremacy-culture" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> on Tuesday, defines white supremacy culture as the &#8220;idea (ideology) that White people and the ideas, thoughts, beliefs, and actions of white people are superior to People of Color and their ideas, thoughts, beliefs, and actions.&#8221;
Titled &#8220;Dismantling Racism And Advancing Equity, Diversity And Inclusion in the School of Medicine,&#8221; the document says the goal of the plan is to &#8220;catalyze anti-racist practice through education of our current and future workforce.&#8221;
The dean of Duke Medical School, Dr. Mary Klotman, praised the plan at the time of its unveiling.
&#8220;This plan reflects the School of Medicine’s goals, priorities and strategies relative to the path we have been on, the path we are currently on, and the path forward,&#8221; Klotman wrote in a message accompanying the document.
&#8220;We are proud of our longstanding commitment to diversity and excellence and yet we acknowledge that there is much more work to do,&#8221; she said.
The document also included a definition of &#8220;white fragility,&#8221; which it says refers to &#8220;feelings of discomfort a white person experiences when they witness or engage in discussions around racial inequality and injustice.&#8221;
The idea that timeliness is a value of &#8220;white&#8221; culture has been around for at least the past several years.
&#8220;In a world driven by capitalism, professionalism &#8230; centers productivity over people, values time commitments, accomplishes tasks in a linear fashion, and often favors individuals who are white and Western,&#8221; <a href="https://ssir.org/articles/entry/the_bias_of_professionalism_standards" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reads</a> a 2019 article in the Stanford Social Innovation Review. &#8220;In contrast, polychronic cultures, while still able to get tasks completed, prioritize socialization and familial connections over economic labor.&#8221;
Other professional expectations that have been criticized as too &#8220;white&#8221; are <a href="https://ssir.org/articles/entry/the_bias_of_professionalism_standards" target="_blank" rel="noopener">speaking</a> &#8220;white standard English&#8221; and <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2018/09/13/sports/serena-williams-discrimination-black-women.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">keeping</a> anger in check at work.
Meanwhile, equity advocates <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/universities-scrap-sat-scramble-to-stay-diverse-ahead-of-affirmative-action-ruling">have</a> <a href="https://www.kevinmd.com/2019/09/its-time-to-abolish-the-mcat.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pushed</a> for medical schools to stop requiring the MCAT in recent years, alarming critics who worry that schools could end up graduating less qualified doctors, putting patients at risk.

The dance company behind a Christmas video the White House shared on social media this week promotes a slew of woke books, educational resources, and ways to engage in progressive activism.

The dancers are from Dorrance Dance, a dance company based in New York City, which has an entire tab on its website devoted to &#8220;antiracism.&#8221; The company focuses on tap dance, which it <a href="https://www.dorrancedance.com/education">claims</a> was &#8220;born on the slave plantation.&#8221;

Dorrance Dance also encourages readers to join their local Black Lives Matter chapter and get involved in prison abolition work as well as vote and contact their congressional representatives about leftist causes.
Michelle Dorrance, the company&#8217;s founder, who is white, explains why &#8220;antiracism work&#8221; is important to her in a note on the website.
&#8220;It is from this place of white privilege that I invite you to join me in lifelong antiracism work,&#8221; Dorrance <a href="https://www.dorrancedance.com/antiracism-michelles-why" target="_blank" rel="noopener">states</a>. &#8220;Understanding how deeply embedded white supremacy, racism, and colonialism is in our culture is paramount to understanding our role (as white people) in perpetuating it, and embracing our job to dismantle it.&#8221;

“White Fragility” author Robin DiAngelo offered a separatist proposition in which she advocated for racial segregation, prompting conservatives to note that “Dilbert” creator Scott Adams was vilified and <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/scott-adams-dilbert-newspapers-cancelled-comic-strip/">reportedly lost</a> 80% of his income after making essentially the same proposition but from the opposite perspective.
Adams had <a href="https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/story/2023-02-28/scott-adams-dilbert-cancellation-racism-remarks">reacted</a> to a Rasmussen Reports poll that asked whether people agreed with the statement “It’s OK to be white.” 26% of black respondents disagreed and 21% said they were not sure, prompting Adams to state, “If nearly half of all blacks are not OK with white people &#8230; that’s a hate group.”
“And I don’t want anything to do with them,” Adams continued. “And based on how things are going, the best advice I could give to white people is to get the hell away from black people. Just get the f*** away. Wherever you have to go, just get away. ’Cause there’s no fixing this. This can’t be fixed.”
Adams later defended himself, saying, “The trick is just to use my quote and to ignore the context which I helpfully added afterwards,” adding that his two main points were “treat all individuals as individuals, no discrimination” and “avoid anything that statistically looks like a bad idea for you personally.”
DiAngelo was speaking on a group chat when she declared that she was “a big believer in affinity space and affinity work, and I think people of color need to get away from white people and have some community with each other. And I’ll let that go and maybe see if anyone else wants to pick it up.”
Anti-woke warrior Christopher Rufo noted the incongruity, writing, “It&#8217;s amazing that, for an entire year, the libs scrambled to find their moral voice and settled on Ibram Kendi and Robin DiAngelo, who turned out to be two of the greatest midwits of our time.”
