Sen. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/ted-cruz" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ted Cruz</a> (R-TX) slammed President Joe Biden this week for failing to give his top challenger in the Democratic Party — Robert F. Kennedy Jr. — Secret Service protection after a man showed up at one of his campaign events with a loaded gun.
Speaking on his &#8220;Verdict&#8221; podcast, Cruz told co-host Ben Ferguson: “The reason I believe the Biden administration hasn&#8217;t granted [Secret Service protection] is because if they did, it legitimizes [RFK Jr.].”
&#8220;This isn&#8217;t a Left or Right issue. The Biden administration should give Robert Kennedy Jr. a security detail, now,&#8221; Cruz said. &#8220;Given his tragic family history, both his father and uncle were horrifically assassinated, and this latest serious security incident, Biden shouldn&#8217;t mess around.&#8221;
&#8220;In this instance, you&#8217;ve got RFK Jr., number one, you&#8217;ve got his unique personal story,&#8221; he later added. &#8220;His father was murdered while running for President of the United States. Bobby Kennedy was murdered as a candidate for the Democratic nominee for president and before that his uncle, John F. Kennedy, was murdered while being President of the United States. Given that history and given that people are just nuts.&#8221;
Cruz said that he thought it was a &#8220;no-brainer&#8221; that if RFK Jr. wanted to get Secret Service protection, he deserves it.
&#8220;And the reason I believe the Biden administration hasn&#8217;t granted it is because if they did, it legitimizes him, they would have to say he&#8217;s a major candidate and the approach of the Biden White House is, RFK who? We never heard of him,&#8221; Cruz said. &#8220;Nope, nope. Nobody running. Nobody in the Democrat primary, doesn&#8217;t exist. This is a coronation &#8212; Joe&#8217;s down in the basement. And I think it is purely political.&#8221;

An armed man was arrested for posing as a U.S. Marshal while at an event in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/los-angeles" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Los Angeles</a> for Democratic presidential candidate <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/robert-f-kennedy-jr" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Robert F. Kennedy Jr.</a>, according to the police. 
Kennedy was set to speak at a &#8220;Hispanic Heritage&#8221; event at the Wilshire Ebell Theater in Los Angeles when a man arrived at the venue and identified himself as a member of Kennedy security detail, Kennedy said. Police later arrived and arrested the man. 
“The man, wearing two shoulder holsters with loaded pistols and spare ammunition magazines was carrying a U.S. Marshal badge on a lanyard and beltclip federal ID. He identified himself as a member of my security detail. Armed GDBA team members moved quickly to isolate and detain the man until LAPD arrived to make the arrest. I’m also grateful to LAPD for its rapid response,” Kennedy posted on X.

The Los Angeles Police said the man will likely face a gun charge, but they don’t think that he was threatening anyone, CBS News <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/losangeles/news/man-arrested-for-posing-as-u-s-marshal-during-robert-f-kennedy-jr-event-at-wilshire-ebell-theatre-rfk/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. 
Kennedy said that he hoped the incident would lead to him getting Secret Service protection. His father, Robert Kennedy, was shot and killed by a gunman on June 5, 1968, <a href="https://abc7.com/robert-kennedy-jr-armed-man-arrested-los-angeles-fake-us-marshal-arrest/13789226/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">just miles</a> away from where Kennedy Jr.’s campaign event took place. 
“I’m still entertaining a hope that President Biden will allow me Secret Service protection. I am the first presidential candidate in history to whom the White House has denied a request for protection,” he said. 
Kennedy previously called out Biden, <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2023/07/28/rfk-jr-claims-he-was-denied-secret-service-protection-00108827">suggesting</a> that there was a political motivation behind the denial of the federal protection.

Kennedy, whose Democratic presidential primary polling average is nearly 12%, has focused his campaign on vaccine issues, foreign policy, and environmental issues. In a letter this week, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/rfk-jr-blasts-dnc-in-open-letter-says-party-has-essentially-merged-into-one-unit-with-biden-campaign" target="_blank" rel="noopener">he</a> blasted the Democrat National Committee for going “off track” and reportedly not allowing a fair primary process.

Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. sees foul play in the primary system set up by the Democratic National Committee (DNC), writing an open letter to the party Wednesday on how it “has gone off track.” 
In the <a href="https://www.kennedy24.com/dncletter" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letter</a>, Kennedy accused the DNC of breaking party rules by working hand-in-hand with President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign. The presidential candidate, who is challenging Biden for the 2024 nomination, asked Chairman Jamie Harrison and members of the DNC to “lead by example” and hold a fair and “accessible” primary election. 
“Unfortunately, in recent years our party leaders have succumbed to the siren of control,” Kennedy wrote. “They have compromised the defining democratic principle of one person, one vote through repeated interference in the primary elections. They have hijacked the party machinery and, in recent years, directed the power of censorship onto their political opponents, raising political victory onto the altar in place of honest democracy.” 
Kennedy then slammed the DNC for setting up a primary election schedule that favors Biden by holding the first primary in South Carolina, where Biden performed well in 2020, and “casting out New Hampshire’s votes,” where the first Democratic primary is traditionally held and where Biden <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/02/11/us/elections/results-new-hampshire-primary-election.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">finished in fifth place</a> in the 2020 presidential primary. 
The Democrat also said his party is “limiting ballot access in Iowa” and creating a new system of superdelegates after the party <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/democrats-vs-trump/democrats-strip-super-delegates-power-reform-caucuses-historic-move-n903866" target="_blank" rel="noopener">voted</a> in 2018 to strip power from superdelegates by preventing them from voting on the first round of ballots at the party convention. The new reforms to the Democratic Party’s nominating process were pushed by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and former DNC Chairman Tom Perez after Sanders lost the nomination to Hillary Clinton in 2016, largely due to superdelegates backing Clinton.  
Kennedy added that the DNC is reverting to superdelegate control of the primary’s outcome, writing that the DNC is “deploying party operatives to water down the popular vote and ensure a controlled victory.” 
Kennedy’s campaign manager, Dennis Kucinich, <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/rfk-jr-campaign-accuses-dnc-being-undemocratic-demands-assurances-every-dems-vote-counts" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> last week that “it appears that the DNC has created a class of pledged delegates, called Party Leaders and Elected Officials (PLEOs), who are essentially the same as superdelegates, due to the amount of control the party exercises over elected officials.&#8221; 
&#8220;This puts the DNC, once again, in the position of overturning the will of voters across the United States. It is unclear how overturning the nation’s majority vote could be interpreted as trusting the people,&#8221; added Kucinich, a former Democratic Representative from Ohio who ran for president in 2004 and 2008.

In the letter to the DNC, Kennedy also criticized the party for its refusal to hold any debates, even as Kennedy polled above 10% nationally and another Democratic candidate, Marianne Williamson, polled above 5%, according to the Real Clear Politics <a href="https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2024/president/us/24_democratic_presidential_nomination-8171.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">average</a>. 
“Equally disheartening is the DNC’s refusal to hold debates,” Kennedy wrote, adding that the DNC’s defense of pointing to “precedent” is “spurious” since “there has been no serious primary challenge to an incumbent in more than 40 years” other than then-sitting-Vice President Al Gore debating primary challengers in 2000. 
“Voters deserve — and democracy requires — a competitive process by which to determine nominees. It should be a party’s voters who choose a candidate, not party insiders who anoint one,” Kennedy added. 
Section 4 of the DNC’s charter dictates that the chairman of the party “shall exercise impartiality and evenhandedness as between the Presidential candidates and campaigns,” something the Kennedy campaign <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/rfk-jr-campaign-accuses-dnc-being-undemocratic-demands-assurances-every-dems-vote-counts">says</a> the DNC is going against by “closely consulting” with Biden’s campaign manager Julie Chávez-Rodríguez.
“The DNC and the Joe Biden campaign have essentially merged into one unit, financially and strategically, despite the promise of neutrality in its charter and bylaws,” Kennedy said. 
When asked by The Daily Wire if Kennedy would consider running as an independent if the DNC didn’t make some changes following the letter, Kucinich said, “The next move is up to the DNC.” 
“Even though it is well known that the DNC IS the Biden campaign, and the Biden campaign IS the DNC, Mr. Kennedy made an open, conciliatory appeal, in the spirit of healing the divide, and rescuing the party from a colossal blunder,&#8221; he said. &#8220;The next move is up to the DNC/Biden campaign.&#8221;

A former secret service agent — who was just feet away when President John F. Kennedy was assassinated almost 60 years ago — recently broke his silence surrounding the “magic bullet” theory, raising questions of a possible second shooter if not even more than one.
Paul Landis, a young federal agent at the time, <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/09/09/us/politics/jfk-assassination-witness-paul-landis.html?partner=slack&amp;smid=sl-share" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> The New York Times he had been assigned to protect first lady Jackie Kennedy as the president’s motorcade strolled through Dealey Plaza in downtown Dallas, Texas, on that tragic day in November 1963.
Landis recalled dodging Kennedy’s flesh and brain matter after the final gunshot of three bullets fatally pierced through the back of Kennedy, exited out of his throat, and then hit the shoulder and wounded the back, chest, wrist, and thigh of then-Texas governor John Connally Jr.
Landis said he found the 6.5-millimeter bullet fired from a  C2766 Mannlicher-Carcano rifle lodged in the back seat of the president’s limousine, where Kennedy had been sitting at the time of his death, and placed it on the president’s hospital stretcher for investigators. But that timeline of events differs from what U.S. investigators officially reported in the <a href="https://www.archives.gov/research/jfk/warren-commission-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Warren Commission Report</a>.
“There was nobody there to secure the scene, and that was a big, big bother to me,” Landis told The Times. “All the agents that were there were focused on the president.”
“This was all going on so quickly,” he added. “And I was just afraid that — it was a piece of evidence, that I realized right away. Very important. And I didn’t want it to disappear or get lost. So it was, ‘Paul, you’ve got to make a decision,’ and I grabbed it.’”
According to the commission report, authorities concluded that the bullet shot by former Marine and onetime defector to the Soviet Union, Lee Harvey Oswald, was found on Gov. Connally’s stretcher after it fell from his thigh.
Landis, whom the Warren Commission never interviewed, said that the bullet possibly moved from the president’s stretcher to the governor’s while they were side-by-side, although the report ruled out the possibility that the bullet came from Kennedy’s stretcher.
He said he also believes the bullet popped out of Kennedy’s body before authorities removed the president from the vehicle.
Nearly six decades after the Kennedy assassination, Landis had believed that Oswald was the only gunman on the scene. But now Landis said he’s “beginning to doubt” himself.
“Now I begin to wonder,” he added.
Landis’ account reportedly will be included in a forthcoming memoir, “The Final Witness,” which the Chicago Review Press is scheduled to release on October 10.
James Robenalt, a Cleveland lawyer and published author, told The Times that “if the bullet we know as the magic or pristine bullet stopped in President Kennedy’s back, it means that the central thesis of the Warren Report, the single-bullet theory, is wrong.”
Robenalt, who helped Landis recall his memories of Kennedy’s assassination, said if such accounts prove accurate, it could likely reopen the question that Oswald did not act alone. He further argued that if a separate bullet hit Gov. Connally, it’s questionable whether Oswald fired it because he could not have reloaded his gun that fast.
Earlier this year, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. — JFK’s nephew — <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/robert-kennedy-jr-says-overwhelming-evidence-suggests-cia-was-involved-in-jfk-assassination" target="_blank" rel="noopener">blamed</a> the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) for the assassination and cover-up of his uncle. The CIA denies the claim made by RFK Jr. on its website, calling the theory a “lie.”
But in response to Landis’ account in the New York Times report, RFK Jr. <a href="https://twitter.com/RobertKennedyJr/status/1700688502826938588" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said in an X-post</a> that “the magic bullet theory is now dead.”
“This preposterous construction has served as the mainstay of the theory that a single shooter murdered President Kennedy since the Warren Commission advanced it 60 years ago under the direction of the former CIA Director Allen Dulles whom my uncle fired,” RFK Jr. wrote. “The recent revelations by JFK’s Secret Service protector Paul Landis have prompted even the New York Times-among the last lonely defenders of the Warren Report-to finally acknowledge its absurdity.”

&#8220;Not only a debate, but have unscripted conversations with voters and do some retail politics,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;If he is going to have to debate President Trump, or whoever the Republican is, at some point &#8212; to say that he should sit on the couch &#8212; it&#8217;s like telling a prizefighter you&#8217;re going to prepare for the prize fight championship by sitting on a couch eating Chick-Fil-A. Sam Harris, the famous atheist who has criticized Robert F. Kennedy for his crusade against vaccines, explained why he thought any blanket condemnation of vaccines could be dangerous.
Speaking on “Impact Theory” with host Tom Bilyeu, Harris prefaced his comments about vaccines by speaking of the efforts to bury the news of Hunter Biden’s laptop just prior to the 2020 election.
“My view is it is a coin toss as to what you do there,” he argued. “Now, if you raise the stakes, more, right, you make Trump even more sinister, you make the election even more tenuous, you make the information even more dubious, then the dials change. And so many of these decisions are not decisions you can make categorically in principle; it really is this pragmatic balancing of just what is true and what are the stakes,” he argued.
“You felt that it was obviously wrong to force people to get the MRNA vaccine for COVID, right?” he asked Bilyeu. “I would grant you, certainly in retrospect, that seems true, but if we change a few of the variables, I think your ethical intuitions and political intuitions would totally change.”
“You make it a much more obviously effective vaccine that really does block transmission, so like a sterilizing vaccine,” he theorized. “You make it a much more dangerous virus. You make it a virus that’s actually preferentially killing kids, rather than old people.”
“So now we’re in an environment where you&#8217;re deciding not to get vaccinated is putting my kids at risk. Do you get to make that choice? You might say, ‘Oh yes, I should be able to make that choice about my body,’ but dial up the deadliness of the pathogen, give us something like airborne Ebola that incubates for a month, you don’t know you have it and you walk around spreading it, and it’s got a 75% mortality rate and it&#8217;s mostly killing kids, no one gets to make that choice anymore. Literally, the cops come in and vaccinate you.”
“I would say that all of us agree to that,” he declared. “You turn up the lethality of the pathogen; you turn up the effectiveness of the vaccine; you turn down the risk of the vaccine, give me a truly safe vaccine, where there’s not even one documented case of vaccine injury, right?”
“Then you just have to be completely crazy to be worried about being vaccinated in that kind of environment,” he asserted. “Then it’s just a no-brainer. Then we just don’t tolerate diversity of opinion because the stakes are too high. It’s a full-on emergency. Bodies of kids are being stacked up in parks. There’s so many of them we don’t know what to do with them; we’ve got these mobile morgues and we have a vaccine that actually works?”
“Then we’ve got RFK Jr. saying, ‘Maybe we don’t want to get the vaccine’ on Rogan’s podcast, right? That’s the world I’ve been worried about ever since COVID,” he stated.

A super PAC backing Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. reported a haul of $10 million through June and said half of that money came from a single mega-donor with a history of supporting Republicans. 
American Values 2024 reported raising $9.8 million through the end of June and another $6 million coming in July alone, giving the group a total haul of around $16 million since it launched in April, the same month Kennedy announced his presidential bid, POLITICO <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2023/07/31/rfk-jr-super-pac-gop-donor-00109101" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. Of the $9.8 million raised through June, $5 million came from American businessman and former Donald Trump supporter Timothy Mellon. 
In a <a href="https://twitter.com/schwartzbCNBC/status/1685793879692345344?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a> to CNBC on his contribution, Mellon, who gave $1.5 million to a group aligned with Trump last fall, said Kennedy is “the one candidate who can who can unite the country and root out corruption and the one Democrat who can win in the general election.”
Mellon has given $45 million to the Congressional Leadership Fund, which is associated with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), and $30 million to the Senate Senate Leadership Fund $53, which is aligned with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Business Insider <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/super-pac-robert-kennedy-funding-tim-mellon-trump-border-wall-2023-7" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. The billionaire also gave $53 million to an <a href="https://www.texastribune.org/2021/10/06/timothy-mellon-texas-border-wall/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">effort</a> by Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott to build a border wall.

Kennedy, who is <a href="https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2024/president/us/24_democratic_presidential_nomination-8171.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">polling</a> at 14% nationally in the Democratic primary per the Real Clear Politics average, has sought to appeal to a wide range of Democrats, Republicans, and independent voters who are tired of the Washington establishment. Another big donation to the super PAC backing Kennedy came from Gavin De Becker, a consultant who has been a close adviser to Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. De Becker has donated to both Democrats and Republicans in the past and reported giving American Values 2024 $4.5 million. 
Kennedy’s top donors include a mix of Democrats and Republicans and dozens of people who previously donated to committees associated with Trump and Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis, <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2023/07/15/rfk-fundraising-republicans-00106481" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to POLITICO. The Democrat has gained favor among many Republicans for his criticisms of the war in Ukraine and the U.S. government pushing the COVID vaccines. Prominent liberals, such as hedge fund manager Bill Ackman and Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey, have also come out in support of Kennedy’s 2024 bid.
Nearly $5 million of Kennedy&#8217;s $6 million July haul came as he testified before the House Judiciary Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government on July 20. During his testimony, Kennedy <a href="https://judiciary.house.gov/sites/evo-subsites/republicans-judiciary.house.gov/files/evo-media-document/kennedy-testimony.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> lawmakers that the federal government colluded with Big Tech corporations to censor his social media posts and shut down his account.

Republican presidential candidate <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/ron-desantis">Ron DeSantis</a> clarified remarks he made last week about having Democrat Robert F. Kennedy Jr. serving in some sort of capacity monitoring federal agencies.
DeSantis was asked last week during an interview with Clay Travis if he would consider tapping RFK Jr. to be his vice presidential running mate, which DeSantis immediately shot down because of RFK&#8217;s strong leftist leanings.
DeSantis said that he did agree with RFK&#8217;s stance on Dr. Anthony Fauci and the corruption in the health bureaucracies and suggested that it might be good to &#8220;sic&#8221; him on those agencies.
&#8220;If you&#8217;re president, you know, sic him on the FDA if he&#8217;d be willing to serve, or sic him on CDC,&#8221; DeSantis said.
The media, some online pundits, and at least one other presidential candidate claimed that DeSantis suggested that he would tap RFK to lead those agencies.
In a follow-up interview with Megyn Kelly, DeSantis clarified that he never suggested tapping RFK to lead any federal agency.
&#8220;So, for the CDC and FDA, we will have a Doctor/PhD-type, but they are going to be people like a Jay Bhattacharya from Stanford who was right on COVID, not going to be some of these people that are just part of this revolving door,&#8221; DeSantis said.
&#8220;I think the word I used is &#8216;let&#8217;s sic him on some of these agencies&#8217; to hold them accountable,&#8221; DeSantis added. &#8220;And that would be part of being kind of outside the agency and getting answers and bringing accountability to bear.&#8221;

President Joe Biden&#8217;s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-to-take-a-break-from-doing-nothing-hits-the-beach-for-10-days" target="_blank" rel="noopener">upcoming beach week</a> can&#8217;t come soon enough. The poor guy forgot to sign an executive order that he flew all the way to Maine to sign on Friday. Perhaps the bigger part of the story can be found in the Democrats&#8217; newfound obsession with the GDP.
This morning, Biden flew to Auburn, Maine, to tout his new &#8220;Invent It Here, Make It Here,&#8221; executive order. Apparently, wanting things to be &#8220;Made In America&#8221; was only <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/posteverything/wp/2017/01/30/theres-a-dark-side-to-buy-american/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">racist</a> when former President Donald Trump was in office. The whole point of the trip was to sign the order in Maine as a way to show his commitment to manufacturing jobs. However, the data indicate that Maine <a href="https://www.bls.gov/charts/state-employment-and-unemployment/one-year-percent-change-in-employment-average-weekly-hours-and-average-weekly-earnings.htm">has lost 0.5 percent</a> of its manufacturing jobs between June 2022 and June 2023, <a href="https://cbsaustin.com/news/nation-world/only-18-of-young-adults-in-us-are-extremely-proud-to-be-american-poll-says-gallup-patriot-patriotism-usa-youth-gen-z-millennials" target="_blank" rel="noopener">per</a> CBS News.
As for the event today, Biden was typical Biden. He left the stage and had to be instructed to return to put his John Hancock on the darn thing. By that point, the crowd was already departing and his exit music was just getting started:

While it is true that America&#8217;s GDP grew over the past two quarters, that doesn&#8217;t equate to a strong country. Whenever politicians or party hacks rely on the GDP to make their argument for a strong economy, perhaps we should be <a href="https://www.themainewire.com/2023/07/maine-manufacturing-company-in-bitter-trade-dispute-with-china-to-get-visit-from-biden/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reminded</a> of what the late Senator Robert Kennedy (D-NY) had to say about the GDP:

Childhood education was slowed thanks to the lockdowns — and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/educational-expert-says-education-has-been-failing-kids-for-a-long-time" target="_blank" rel="noopener">other problems plaguing</a> public schools — and the &#8220;joy of their play&#8221; is stunted by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/talking-to-kids-about-gay-stuff-is-actually-crucial-meet-the-lgbtq-content-creators-and-companies-indoctrinating-your-kids" target="_blank" rel="noopener">activists who push wokeness into everything they do</a>.
As for the quality of our public leaders, well, the ongoing scandals of &#8220;The Big Guy&#8221; and his family should speak to that.
Perhaps because of all those maladies, just 39% of the U.S. adult population says they are &#8220;<a href="https://cbsaustin.com/news/nation-world/only-18-of-young-adults-in-us-are-extremely-proud-to-be-american-poll-says-gallup-patriot-patriotism-usa-youth-gen-z-millennials" target="_blank" rel="noopener">extremely proud</a>&#8221; to be American.
Biden should be <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/1987/09/16/us/biden-is-facing-growing-debate-on-his-speeches.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">all too familiar with Kennedy&#8217;s words</a>. The guy plagiarized RFK&#8217;s exact speech on the GDP way back on the 1988 campaign trail. But maybe he&#8217;s blocked that out in the same manner that the Democratic National Committee is blocking out Robert F. Kennedy Jr. from the 2024 Democratic Party.

Florida Governor and GOP presidential candidate <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/ron-desantis" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ron DeSantis</a> shot down the idea of choosing Democrat contender Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as his vice president if he wins the 2024 Republican nomination.
DeSantis, who entered the race earlier this year, rejected the idea of a DeSantis/Kennedy Jr. ticket to Outkick&#8217;s Clay Travis despite the Democrat candidate gaining popularity in some conservative circles.
Kennedy Jr., the nephew of the late President John F. Kennedy, formally launched his 2024 Democratic presidential campaign in April, vowing to end the merger of state and corporate power. The environmental lawyer and best-selling author garnered attention in recent years for his stance against vaccines and became a vocal critic of the government&#8217;s handling of the COVID pandemic.
But despite the two presidential hopefuls coming from different political camps, DeSantis said he &#8220;100%&#8221; agrees with Kennedy&#8217;s position on Dr. Anthony Fauci and health bureaucracy corruption — issues both candidates speak openly about in their respective campaigns.
&#8220;Here&#8217;s the issue: I&#8217;m aligned with him on [former presidential medical adviser Dr. Anthony] Fauci, the corruption, and the health bureaucracy — 100 percent,&#8221; DeSantis said. &#8220;But, at the end of the day, he&#8217;s more liberal, very liberal on some. I mean, he used to say, I don’t know if he still believes this, that if you deny climate change, you should go to jail, things like that. So, it&#8217;s like conservative voters, they would want those positions flushed out. He opposed the affirmative action ruling [that said] you can&#8217;t racially discriminate &#8230; he would have wanted that to remain. So I just think at the end of the day, you need somebody that&#8217;s going to reflect the values of the broad coalition.&#8221;
&#8220;Yes, the medical stuff — I&#8217;m very good on that. So that does appeal to me, but there&#8217;s a whole host of other things that he&#8217;d probably be out of step with.&#8221;

DeSantis, however, floated the idea of siccing Kennedy Jr. on one of the top federal health agencies in the nation.

&#8220;If you&#8217;re president, sic him on the FDA [Food and Drug Administration] if he&#8217;d be willing to serve. Or sic him on CDC [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention],&#8221; DeSantis said. &#8220;But in terms of being veep, there&#8217;s 70% of the issues that he may be averse to our base on, you know, that just creates an issue.&#8221;
In recent months, DeSantis has expressed ongoing criticism of federal agencies, specifically hitting the CDC during the height of the pandemic for imposing mandates on U.S. citizens.
DeSantis <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ron-desantis-responds-to-rfk-jr-claim-hed-burn-cdc-nih-to-the-ground" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reportedly</a> met with Kennedy Jr. during the COVID pandemic and slammed the federal government&#8217;s response as &#8220;catastrophic&#8221; while making it clear that complete destruction of certain institutions might be going too easy on them.
“There was a report that — I had spoken with Bobby Kennedy Jr., and he had said that ‘the governor said that you know, that we need to burn to the ground the CDC’ and all these things,” DeSantis began.
“And I just want to be very clear, full disclosure,” DeSantis continued. “I was not that kind to CDC and NIH and any of those [agencies]. Just for the record, just so your viewers don’t think I’m going soft, but I can’t think of a more catastrophic response than how this country responded to COVID, particularly at the federal level.”

The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fbi-biden-bribery-file-released-burisma-head-says-he-was-coerced-into-paying-bidens-10-million">FBI-generated FD-1023 form</a>, released by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), alleges that Burisma co-founder and CEO Mykola Zlochevsky told a highly credible FBI confidential human source that he was &#8220;coerced&#8221; into paying Biden and his son Hunter each $5 million to get a Ukrainian investigation into his company shut down.
&#8220;I have avoided criticizing the President because I, you know, I&#8217;m trying to bring people together and and some of the vitriol, the poison that&#8217;s made politics so poisonous,&#8221; Kennedy told Fox News host Maria Bartiromo on &#8220;Sunday Morning Futures.&#8221;
&#8220;I think though the issues that are now coming up are worrying enough that we really need a real investigation of what happened,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I mean, these revelations about the, you know, where you have Burisma — which is a notoriously corrupt company that paid out apparently $10 million to Hunter and his dad — if that&#8217;s true, then it is really troubling.&#8221;
Kennedy said that in addition to the need for the allegation to be thoroughly investigated, Americans need to be worried about the politicization from federal law enforcement agencies.
&#8220;I think that that&#8217;s something that every American needs to worry about and our federal agencies, which used to be above politics, and now become weaponized as political instruments, and that, again, is another really damaging trend for our democracy,&#8221; he said.
