<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/rihanna">Rihanna</a> is facing a mountain of backlash following the debut of her cover photo on Interview magazine, which features the singer dressed as a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/catholicism">nun</a> and posing in a provocative manner.
The image in question features the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">Grammy Award</a>&#8211;winning singer wearing a nun’s habit, an unbuttoned white shirt, bright blue eyeshadow, and red lipstick. Small cross tattoos can be seen on Rihanna’s face and neck. The title of the <a href="https://www.interviewmagazine.com/music/rihanna-is-ready-to-confess">interview</a> is &#8220;Rihanna Is Ready to Confess.&#8221; 
The backlash online included many commenters pointing out how often Christianity is mocked compared to other religions. 
“Rihanna mocks Catholics. She’d never try this with Islam,” conservative commentator Chad Prather <a href="https://twitter.com/WatchChad/status/1777817839862178160">wrote</a> on X. “Teach your children not to admire, follow, or listen to morons like this.”
“Should Interview Magazine and Rihanna try a similar photoshoot with a hijab?” another commenter <a href="https://twitter.com/visegrad24/status/1777969302815035732">wondered</a>.

“That’s so brave Rihanna, now do Islam,” a third person <a href="https://twitter.com/1Fubar/status/1777972046179566034">added</a>.
The singer references God several times throughout the interview but doesn’t mention her faith or religion specifically. When asked how many kids she wants, Rihanna responds, “As many as God wants me to have.” The interviewer asks if that means more than two. She says, “I don’t know what God wants, but I would go for more than two. I would try for my girl. But of course if it’s another boy, it’s another boy.”
This isn&#8217;t the first time the singer has received backlash for using Catholic imagery. The singer wore a bustier dress, coat, and bishop&#8217;s hat to the &#8220;Heavenly Bodies&#8221; themed Met Gala in 2018.
Some X users also pointed out how Rihanna apologized for offending Muslims in the past but has never done the same for Christians.
In 2020, she thanked Muslim fans for “pointing out a huge oversight that was unintentionally offensive in our Savage X Fenty show.&#8221; Rihanna had included a song that featured an Islamic verse, known as a Hadith, in her fashion show.
&#8220;I would more importantly like to apologize to you for this honest, yet careless mistake. We understand that we have hurt many of our Muslim sisters and brothers, and I&#8217;m incredibly disheartened by this!&#8221; she said at the time. &#8220;I do not play with any kind of disrespect toward God or any religion and therefore the use of this song in our project was completely irresponsible!” she wrote at the time on Instagram stories, per <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/celebrities/2020/10/07/rihanna-apologizes-muslims-unintentionally-offensive-song/5907117002/">USA Today</a>.

This sum helped her beat out runners-up in the music category, including Madonna ($580 million net worth) and Beyoncé ($540 million net worth).
Swift is also the 34th richest woman on the list overall. Diane Hendricks of ABC Supply, the largest wholesale distributor of roofing materials in the U.S., currently occupies the top spot with a net worth of $15 billion.
Swift is currently performing across the United States on her Eras Tour, which helped inflate her massive net worth. Tickets sold out quickly during presale and crashed the Ticketmaster website. Per <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/philadelphia/news/taylor-swift-net-worth-2023-eras-tour-could-make-her-a-billionaire">CBS News</a>, “Eras” could become the highest-grossing concert tour of all time and could increase Swift&#8217;s income by about $500 million.
But crossing the billion-dollar threshold won’t even be enough for Swift to secure the top spot. That title belongs to Rihanna, who currently has an estimated net worth of $1.4 billion.
Rihanna’s wealth comes from a combination of pop music and her extremely successful Fenty Beauty cosmetics company. The 35-year-old singer is the 20th richest self-made woman overall, according to Forbes.

Zoppa reacted to public criticism of the move by defending Brown.

Several residents at Arcadia Senior Living in Bowling Green, Kentucky, received flowers from <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/rihanna">Rihanna</a> and Jay-Z after a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/tiktok">TikTok</a> video of them dancing went viral.
The senior women put together an act recreating Rihanna’s “Rude Boy” dance sequence from her performance at <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/super-bowl">Super Bowl LVII</a> in February. The short <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@arcadiasrlivingbg/video/7203101432105700654?refer=embed">video</a> has since racked up more than 3.7 million views on the social platform and even got the attention of the singer herself.
Rihanna sent a huge bouquet of white roses with a note that said, “You Ladies Dance [sic] Was Amazing, Love Roc Nation, Rihanna.” This comes after rapper Jay-Z also sent the ladies a bouquet of red roses last week accompanied by a card that said, “We Love The Tik Tok Here At Roc Nation! Jay Z.”

“When the roses showed up from Rihanna, we were all in shock,” Paige Oakes, director of community relations at Arcadia Senior Living Bowling Green, told <a href="https://www.huffpost.com/entry/rihanna-surprises-older-women-tiktok_n_6407c2abe4b018d7c56da327">HuffPost</a>. “All week, we have been waiting to see if we would get a response from her.”
“We were so excited to know that Rihanna watched the video and saw our lovely ladies having fun and dancing to her music,” Oakes continued.
The clip features 11 women dressed in white outfits to reference the costumes worn by Rihanna’s backup dancers during the Super Bowl. The women all step aside to show off resident Dora Martin, 87, who is dressed in red like the Grammy Award-winning singer was during her performance. 
“I would say half were aware of TikTok, and the other half did not know what it was, so we had to explain it,” the community relations director told the publication. She went on to explain how engagement director Maitlin Nuckols made the TikTok account “never thinking” any of their content would go viral.
“We were just trying to find something new and engaging for the residents,” Oakes noted, saying they are so far “loving all of the fame and attention.”

The 35-year-old singer&#8217;s Super Bowl performance was labeled &#8220;indecent&#8221; and &#8220;pornographic&#8221; in the dozens of complaints to the Federal Communications Commission that were reviewed by <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2023/02/23/rihanna-superbowl-halftime-fcc-complaints/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TMZ,</a> the outlet reported on Thursday.
&#8220;This year the halftime show was so indecent I had to turn off the TV because of the pornographic content,&#8221; one person from Utah explained.

A California resident wrote in their complaint that the show was &#8220;pornography&#8221; and compared the singer&#8217;s show to the &#8220;Satanic&#8221; performance at the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/satanic-grammys-continue-award-shows-ratings-slump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2023 Grammy Awards</a> by Sam Smith and Kim Petras.
&#8220;I don&#8217;t care what someone worships but children shouldn&#8217;t be exposed to pornography and as an adult I don&#8217;t wish to see it … &#8221; the complaint stated. &#8220;Where has decency gone? How about respect for others and self?&#8221;
In other complaints, the &#8220;Umbrella&#8221; hitmakers and her backup dancers were blasted for &#8220;overtly sexual dancing,” with movements that &#8220;were patently offensive and completely inappropriate for children.”
One person from Florida said that Rihanna &#8220;spread her a** cheek at the crack. She rubbed her pants where her l**** were three times.&#8221;
On social media, many slammed the singer&#8217;s sexualized choreography, The <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/02/24/rihannas-sexy-super-bowl-show-gets-fcc-complaints/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York Post</a> noted.

Rihanna’s Super Bowl Performance Compared To Pornography In FCC Complaints About Broadcast

There’s an interesting trend right now involving celebrity moms gushing about motherhood and how it changed them. This is especially notable because almost all of these A-listers are rabidly pro-abortion.
Their defense of being in favor of keeping abortion legal while simultaneously praising the #momlife will no doubt involve the word “choice.” They’ll say just because they want to be mothers, it doesn’t mean everyone should. But what these multi-millionaire recording artists and actresses fail to realize is that this attitude is more elitist than Paris Hilton thinking Walmart sells walls.
Take singer Pink, for example. The 43-year-old pop singer recently <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/pink-was-told-having-kids-would-ruin-her-career-explains-why-she-had-them-anyway" target="_blank" rel="noopener">gave an interview</a> full of sweet sentiments about how much her two children, Willow Sage and Jameson Moon, have changed her life for the better. 
Setting aside the fact that Pink (whose real name is Alecia Beth Moore Hart) is intentionally raising those kids as “<a href="https://www.etonline.com/pink-explains-why-shes-raising-daughter-willow-gender-neutral-92095" target="_blank" rel="noopener">gender neutral</a>,” the whole interview was an extremely thoughtful reflection on how becoming a mother changes a woman profoundly and will often enhance, not hinder, a burgeoning career. 
“Everyone told me, ‘If you have children right now, your career’s over,&#8217;” Pink said during a conversation with The Zane Lowe Show. The artist recalls ignoring that advice and then reaping the benefits later.
“Obviously, we’re all much more complex than any of that, but when I had a child, I think it softened me to the world, the part that didn’t understand me,” she continued. “And I think that’s when my career began, really. I mean, I did a lot of stuff before that, but really, truly, I think it’s when I started to really understand myself and understand the world and my place in it.”
One reason the “Cover Me in Sunshine” singer was so adamant about having a family was her own tumultuous upbringing. Interestingly, a rough childhood is often cited as being a valid reason for having an abortion.
“Having a family was really important to me because my family life was screwed as a kid, and I’m super affectionate and cuddly and goofy. Just doing music wasn’t enough for me,” she said during the interview. “I was lonely. I was so lonely. It’s a very lonely business.”
“I love writing songs. I love singing songs. I love performing. Sitting with a guitar is one of my favorite things I’ll ever do, but cuddling with my babies and taking them camping and being dirty for three days is also one of the coolest things I’ll ever do, and making wine also happens to be pretty cool,” Pink concluded.
These statements vastly contradict the publicly pro-abortion stance Pink took in the past. After Roe v. Wade was overturned in June 2022, the artist was so furious that she urged pro-life conservatives to “NEVER F***ING LISTEN TO MY MUSIC AGAIN. AND ALSO F*** RIGHT OFF.” Not exactly subtle.
While Pink could argue that she should get to have babies because she’s rich and famous and can afford multiple nannies, she would never come out and say that. Instead, she holds the contradictory position of recognizing how children can and do enrich a woman’s life while hoping that fewer women experience that joy for themselves. 
Rihanna is another recent example of espousing two contradictory positions. The 34-year-old singer just took the stage at the Super Bowl LVII halftime show in a tight-fitting outfit as a way to announce her latest pregnancy. Fans were confused, then delighted, because she and boyfriend A$AP Rocky just welcomed a son together less than a year ago in May 2022. 
Like Pink, Rihanna said having babies has helped her career, not hurt it. 
“It’s this knowing that you can do anything,” she <a href="https://www.vogue.co.uk/arts-and-lifestyle/article/rihanna-british-vogue-interview" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> British Vogue of becoming a mom. “What the heck am I thinking? But you’re geeked on a challenge like that because you know what your body just did,” Rihanna continued while speaking about why she felt confident enough to perform at such an important event. “You feel this sense of ‘Nothing is impossible.’”
Meanwhile, the “We Found Love” singer lambasted Alabama Republicans in 2019 for passing the Human Life Protection Act, which outlaws most abortions, with an exception for when a mother’s life is at risk.
Rihanna also founded the nonprofit organization The Clara Lionel Foundation, which has worked with abortion provider International Planned Parenthood Federation, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/abortion-activist-rihanna-and-boyfriend-rapper-welcome-first-child-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
Many pro-life activists used Rihanna’s Super Bowl pregnancy announcement to stress how women can in fact have babies and careers. 
Abby Johnson <a href="https://twitter.com/AbbyJohnson/status/1624957827562278913">tweeted</a>: “Dear Pro-Abortion Mob: Rihanna didn’t need to kill her unborn children to be successful. She’s a billionaire and just performed at the super bowl while pregnant with her second child. Take a couple lessons from her.”
Christine Yeargin <a href="https://twitter.com/christineyeargs/status/1624952875385520129" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tweeted</a> that “Rihanna revealing her pregnancy during her Super Bowl halftime performance is pro-life vibes.” 
After getting backlash from followers, Yeargin clarified her statements in the comments, sharing that she knows Rihanna is pro-abortion but wanted to acknowledge the inadvertent pro-life message the singer sent during her performance.
Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence also presents conflicting views on abortion. She shared her thoughts during a September <a href="https://finance.yahoo.com/news/jennifer-lawrence-reveals-sex-first-150235075.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">interview</a> with Vogue.
“The morning after I gave birth, I felt like my whole life had started over,” she said of having a son with husband Cooke Maroney in February 2022. 
“Like, Now is day one of my life. I just stared. I was just so in love. I also fell in love with all babies everywhere. Newborns are just so amazing. They’re these pink, swollen, fragile little survivors. Now I love all babies. Now I hear a baby crying in a restaurant and I’m like, Awwww, preciousssss.”
“My heart has stretched to a capacity that I didn’t know about,” the “Hunger Games” star went on. “I include my husband in that. And then they’re both just, like, out there—walking around, crossing streets. He’s gonna drive one day. He’s gonna be a stupid teenager and be behind the wheel of a car. And I’m just gonna be like, Good night! You know? Like, who sleeps?”
During the same interview, Lawrence questioned her conservative relatives and lamented the overturning of Roe as well. 
“I remember a million times thinking about it while I was pregnant,” she said of abortion. “Thinking about the things that were happening to my body. And I had a great pregnancy. I had a very fortunate pregnancy. But every single second of my life was different. And it would occur to me sometimes: What if I was forced to do this?”

The 34-year-old <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">singer</a> said at the time she “just couldn’t be a sellout” by performing amid the controversy with former NFL quarterback <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/colin-kaepernick">Colin Kaepernick</a> kneeling for the national anthem to protest alleged <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/racism">racial injustice</a> in the United States.  
“I couldn’t be an enabler,” Rihanna <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2019/oct/09/rihanna-colin-kaepernick-super-bowl-halftime-show-nfl">said</a> in October 2019. “There’s things within that organization that I do not agree with at all, and I was not about to go and be of service to them in any way.”
But did the performer believe that’s all changed in 2023? 
While Rihanna said “there’s a lot of mending to be done,” she also felt it was “powerful to break down those doors and have representation at such a high, high level.”
“Two Super Bowls back-to-back, you know, representing the urban community, globally. It is powerful. It sends a really strong message,” Rihanna told British Vogue during a new <a href="https://www.vogue.co.uk/arts-and-lifestyle/article/rihanna-british-vogue-interview">interview</a>. This comment referred to last year’s Super Bowl halftime show, which included performances by Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, and Eminem. 
The “Umbrella” singer said having her first child also played into the decision. 
“Raising a young black man is one of the scariest responsibilities in life. You’re like, ‘What am I leaving my kids to? This is the planet they’re gonna be living on?’ All of those things really start to hit differently,” she told the publication.
Rihanna surprised fans by agreeing to perform after boycotting the event so publicly just a few years ago. Then she shocked them again during the show after taking the stage in a form-hugging outfit that showed off her baby bump. Her representative later confirmed that Rihanna is pregnant.
Later in the interview, the Barbados-born recording artist said her decision to perform was also spurred by becoming a mom. “It’s this knowing that you can do anything,” she told British Vogue.
“What the heck am I thinking? But you’re geeked on a challenge like that because you know what your body just did,” Rihanna continued. “You feel this sense of ‘Nothing is impossible.’” 
The singer previously talked about how she only chose projects that she considered worthy of her time ever since having her son.

A rep for the singer <a href="https://www.foxsports.com/stories/nfl/rihannas-halftime-show-with-her-special-guest-was-perfect">verified</a> the news Sunday night after Rihanna’s tight-fitting outfit set the internet into a frenzy of speculation. The 34-year-old <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">star</a> could be seen rubbing her stomach during her performance of “Diamonds,” which led fans to assume she was referring to the child while singing.
Rihanna and rapper A$AP Rocky just welcomed their first baby last May. 
Just before the performance on Sunday, she had opened up about how motherhood changed the trajectory of her career.

His comments inspired a loud chorus of “boos” from the audience.
“The only reason I brought up Beyoncé is because Beyoncé recently performed at the Super Bowl. And without Bruno Mars and Coldplay.”
Sherri Shepherd argued that Beyoncé “had her time” to shine, but the ESPN host wouldn’t budge.

After receiving a ton of backlash from Rihanna fans, Smith decided to embark on an apology tour. 
He posted a <a href="https://twitter.com/stephenasmith/status/1615808582833868831">video</a> in his own defense, saying he’d compare any artist to what he considered to be an unbeatable performance from Beyoncé, Coldplay, and Bruno Mars in 2016 at the Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show.
“I’m gonna own it,” he said in the video, which was posted to Twitter and Instagram. “I know what y’all trying to do, but I’m gonna own it because I get paid to speak for a living, so I need to be more careful.”
“I want Rihanna to know, you’re a superstar, you’re sensational, you’re spectacular, you’re no joke and you are a worthy person to be doing the Super Bowl halftime show,” he continued.
“Michael Jackson could still be alive and I would say, ‘He’s gotta measure up to that,’” Smith asserted in the video. “I’ve always said that. I meant it as no disrespect to Rihanna. I know she’s phenomenal, and she’s my sister. Nothing but love for her. But Beyoncé is my sister too. I got love for both of them. I just think that Beyoncé is the greatest performer out there today.”
“Rihanna, go do your thing,” Smith said. “I apologize for creating whatever brouhaha comes of this. I gotta be more careful, where people twist it and turn it into something it ain’t. My bad on that.”
