Charges were filed this week against the woman accused of firing multiple shots at Rihanna&#8217;s Los Angeles home on Sunday while the singer was on the property. 
Ivana Lisette Ortiz, 35, was charged with 14 counts, including attempted murder, use of a firearm, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and shooting into an inhabited dwelling, along with sentence enhancement, <a href="https://abc7.com/post/shooting-rihannas-house-ivana-lisette-ortiz-woman-accused-opening-fire-singers-la-home-expected-court/18699807/">according to</a> ABC7. If convicted on all charges, Ortiz could face life in prison.
Ortiz’s public defender, Jamarcus Bradford, initially entered a not guilty plea on her behalf before withdrawing it to delay the arraignment until March 25. Her bail was initially set at $10 million but was later reduced to $1.875 million, the outlet noted.
Authorities allege Ortiz used an AR-style firearm and fired multiple rounds into the residence where Rihanna’s three children, her mother, and several staff members were inside. The singer and her partner, A$AP Rocky, were also on the property but in a separate building at the time of the shooting, NPR <a href="https://www.npr.org/2026/03/11/g-s1-113252/prosecutor-says-rihanna-family-were-home-when-woman-charged-with-attempted-murder-fired">reported</a>. Bullets penetrated exterior walls but did not breach interior walls.
According to LAPD, Ortiz allegedly drove to Rihanna’s residence from her home in Florida. Investigators are examining whether that travel indicates premeditation. 
&#8220;My understanding is the person drove here from Florida. How long they&#8217;ve been in the area &#8230; I don&#8217;t have that information,&#8221; LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell said. &#8220;They&#8217;re working on that. That would be part of the whole motive, why the person came out here. We haven&#8217;t established a motive, we do know, and are aware of, social media posts that had been made that they&#8217;re looking into further.&#8221;
In a January social media video reviewed by authorities, Ortiz allegedly said, &#8220;Listen Rihanna, when you die God is taking me to my future.. yeah, she wants to kill me. Shut the [expletive] up.&#8221; A Facebook profile believed to belong to Ortiz also included posts directed at the singer. 
This isn’t the first security incident involving Rihanna. In 2018, a man broke into her Hollywood Hills home and remained inside for several hours. Eduardo A. Leon later pleaded no contest to felony stalking and vandalism charges and a misdemeanor count of resisting arrest. He was sentenced to probation.

Rapper A$AP Rocky on Tuesday was found not guilty in his felony assault trial, leading to much celebration by him and the mother of his two children, fellow recording artist Rihanna.
The 36-year-old celeb was acquitted after being accused of firing a semi-automatic handgun at his former friend and A$AP Mob member, A$AP Relli (Terell Ephron), during a fight in November 2021. 
A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, was facing two charges of felony assault with a semi-automatic firearm, which carried a maximum sentence of up to 24 years in prison if convicted of all charges. The rapper rejected a plea deal of 180 days in jail at the start of the trial last month. 
When the not guilty verdict was <a href="https://people.com/asap-rocky-found-not-guilty-felony-assault-trial-verdict-11681492">read</a>, the courtroom exploded with applause and shouting as Mayers embraced his attorney. 
&#8220;Thank y&#8217;all for saving my life,&#8221; the rapper told the jurors as they left the Los Angeles courtroom.
&#8220;I really want to thank the jury for making the right decision. I&#8217;m just so thankful, this is crazy right now,&#8221; Mayers added outside the courtroom.
&#8220;This whole experience has been crazy for the past four years but I&#8217;m thankful, nonetheless, I&#8217;m thankful and I&#8217;m blessed to be here right now, to be a free man talking to y&#8217;all right now,&#8221; he said.
Rihanna, who had appeared in court occasionally during the three week trial with the couple’s children RZA, 2, and Riot, 1, wrote on her Instagram Stories: &#8220;The glory belongs to God and God alone!&#8221;
&#8220;Thankful, humbled by His mercy!&#8221; she wrote, adding a praying hands emoji at the end of the post.
During closing statements, L.A. County Deputy District Attorney John Lewin told the jury not to consider Rihanna or the couple’s children while deciding the verdict. 
&#8220;This is not something you&#8217;re allowed to consider,&#8221; Lewin told the jury on Friday. &#8220;We are all responsible for what we do.&#8221;
He said, &#8220;I want to make sure that no matter how famous his [partner] is, no matter how cute his kids are, no matter how much they giggle during closing arguments&#8230; he needs to be treated like any other person. Because in the end that&#8217;s what he&#8217;s entitled to.&#8221;
Prosecutors argued that Mayers shot twice in the direction of Ephron and left him with bullet-graze wounds above his knuckles. The former member of Mayers’ crew also testified that Rocky had allegedly threatened to kill him the same night, per <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/losangeles/news/asap-rocky-trial-jury-deliberations/">CBS News</a>.
Meanwhile, Mayers’ attorneys argued that he only fired blanks that evening in 2021 from a prop gun he had acquired on a music video shoot. Neither side produced a gun as evidence.
The defense accused Ephron of fabricating evidence, committing perjury, and attempting to extort Mayers.

The image in question features the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">Grammy Award</a>&#8211;winning singer wearing a nun’s habit, an unbuttoned white shirt, bright blue eyeshadow, and red lipstick. Small cross tattoos can be seen on Rihanna’s face and neck. The title of the <a href="https://www.interviewmagazine.com/music/rihanna-is-ready-to-confess">interview</a> is &#8220;Rihanna Is Ready to Confess.&#8221; 
The backlash online included many commenters pointing out how often Christianity is mocked compared to other religions.

“That’s so brave Rihanna, now do Islam,” a third person <a href="https://twitter.com/1Fubar/status/1777972046179566034">added</a>.
The singer references God several times throughout the interview but doesn’t mention her faith or religion specifically. When asked how many kids she wants, Rihanna responds, “As many as God wants me to have.” The interviewer asks if that means more than two. She says, “I don’t know what God wants, but I would go for more than two. I would try for my girl. But of course if it’s another boy, it’s another boy.”
This isn&#8217;t the first time the singer has received backlash for using Catholic imagery. The singer wore a bustier dress, coat, and bishop&#8217;s hat to the &#8220;Heavenly Bodies&#8221; themed Met Gala in 2018.
Some X users also pointed out how Rihanna apologized for offending Muslims in the past but has never done the same for Christians.

Swift is currently performing across the United States on her Eras Tour, which helped inflate her massive net worth. Tickets sold out quickly during presale and crashed the Ticketmaster website. Several residents at Arcadia Senior Living in Bowling Green, Kentucky, received flowers from <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/rihanna">Rihanna</a> and Jay-Z after a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/tiktok">TikTok</a> video of them dancing went viral.
The senior women put together an act recreating Rihanna’s “Rude Boy” dance sequence from her performance at <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/super-bowl">Super Bowl LVII</a> in February. “When the roses showed up from Rihanna, we were all in shock,” Paige Oakes, director of community relations at Arcadia Senior Living Bowling Green, told <a href="https://www.huffpost.com/entry/rihanna-surprises-older-women-tiktok_n_6407c2abe4b018d7c56da327">HuffPost</a>. “All week, we have been waiting to see if we would get a response from her.”
“We were so excited to know that Rihanna watched the video and saw our lovely ladies having fun and dancing to her music,” Oakes continued.
The clip features 11 women dressed in white outfits to reference the costumes worn by Rihanna’s backup dancers during the Super Bowl. The women all step aside to show off resident Dora Martin, 87, who is dressed in red like the Grammy Award-winning singer was during her performance. 
“I would say half were aware of TikTok, and the other half did not know what it was, so we had to explain it,” the community relations director told the publication. She went on to explain how engagement director Maitlin Nuckols made the TikTok account “never thinking” any of their content would go viral.
“We were just trying to find something new and engaging for the residents,” Oakes noted, saying they are so far “loving all of the fame and attention.”

The 35-year-old singer&#8217;s Super Bowl performance was labeled &#8220;indecent&#8221; and &#8220;pornographic&#8221; in the dozens of complaints to the Federal Communications Commission that were reviewed by <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2023/02/23/rihanna-superbowl-halftime-fcc-complaints/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TMZ,</a> the outlet reported on Thursday.
&#8220;This year the halftime show was so indecent I had to turn off the TV because of the pornographic content,&#8221; one person from Utah explained.

A California resident wrote in their complaint that the show was &#8220;pornography&#8221; and compared the singer&#8217;s show to the &#8220;Satanic&#8221; performance at the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/satanic-grammys-continue-award-shows-ratings-slump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2023 Grammy Awards</a> by Sam Smith and Kim Petras.
&#8220;I don&#8217;t care what someone worships but children shouldn&#8217;t be exposed to pornography and as an adult I don&#8217;t wish to see it … &#8221; the complaint stated. &#8220;Where has decency gone? How about respect for others and self?&#8221;
In other complaints, the &#8220;Umbrella&#8221; hitmakers and her backup dancers were blasted for &#8220;overtly sexual dancing,” with movements that &#8220;were patently offensive and completely inappropriate for children.”
One person from Florida said that Rihanna &#8220;spread her a** cheek at the crack. She rubbed her pants where her l**** were three times.&#8221;
On social media, many slammed the singer&#8217;s sexualized choreography, The <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/02/24/rihannas-sexy-super-bowl-show-gets-fcc-complaints/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York Post</a> noted.

While another person tweeted, &#8220;Apparently I&#8217;m the only person [on] Twitter who thinks Rihanna&#8217;s halftime show was terrible. Why is she touching her crotch in a show kids are watching? And why are her backup dancers dressed like hazmat COVID freaks that do those gross brain swab tests?&#8221;
The Barbadian singer also faced backlash for apparently lip-syncing during her Super Bowl show earlier this month.

There’s an interesting trend right now involving celebrity moms gushing about motherhood and how it changed them. This is especially notable because almost all of these A-listers are rabidly pro-abortion.
Their defense of being in favor of keeping abortion legal while simultaneously praising the #momlife will no doubt involve the word “choice.” They’ll say just because they want to be mothers, it doesn’t mean everyone should. But what these multi-millionaire recording artists and actresses fail to realize is that this attitude is more elitist than Paris Hilton thinking Walmart sells walls.
Take singer Pink, for example. The 43-year-old pop singer recently <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/pink-was-told-having-kids-would-ruin-her-career-explains-why-she-had-them-anyway" target="_blank" rel="noopener">gave an interview</a> full of sweet sentiments about how much her two children, Willow Sage and Jameson Moon, have changed her life for the better. 
Setting aside the fact that Pink (whose real name is Alecia Beth Moore Hart) is intentionally raising those kids as “<a href="https://www.etonline.com/pink-explains-why-shes-raising-daughter-willow-gender-neutral-92095" target="_blank" rel="noopener">gender neutral</a>,” the whole interview was an extremely thoughtful reflection on how becoming a mother changes a woman profoundly and will often enhance, not hinder, a burgeoning career. 
“Everyone told me, ‘If you have children right now, your career’s over,&#8217;” Pink said during a conversation with The Zane Lowe Show. The artist recalls ignoring that advice and then reaping the benefits later.
“Obviously, we’re all much more complex than any of that, but when I had a child, I think it softened me to the world, the part that didn’t understand me,” she continued. “And I think that’s when my career began, really. I mean, I did a lot of stuff before that, but really, truly, I think it’s when I started to really understand myself and understand the world and my place in it.”
One reason the “Cover Me in Sunshine” singer was so adamant about having a family was her own tumultuous upbringing. Interestingly, a rough childhood is often cited as being a valid reason for having an abortion.
“Having a family was really important to me because my family life was screwed as a kid, and I’m super affectionate and cuddly and goofy. Just doing music wasn’t enough for me,” she said during the interview. “I was lonely. I was so lonely. It’s a very lonely business.”
“I love writing songs. I love singing songs. I love performing. Sitting with a guitar is one of my favorite things I’ll ever do, but cuddling with my babies and taking them camping and being dirty for three days is also one of the coolest things I’ll ever do, and making wine also happens to be pretty cool,” Pink concluded.
These statements vastly contradict the publicly pro-abortion stance Pink took in the past. After Roe v. Wade was overturned in June 2022, the artist was so furious that she urged pro-life conservatives to “NEVER F***ING LISTEN TO MY MUSIC AGAIN. AND ALSO F*** RIGHT OFF.” Not exactly subtle.
While Pink could argue that she should get to have babies because she’s rich and famous and can afford multiple nannies, she would never come out and say that. Instead, she holds the contradictory position of recognizing how children can and do enrich a woman’s life while hoping that fewer women experience that joy for themselves. 
Rihanna is another recent example of espousing two contradictory positions. The 34-year-old singer just took the stage at the Super Bowl LVII halftime show in a tight-fitting outfit as a way to announce her latest pregnancy. Fans were confused, then delighted, because she and boyfriend A$AP Rocky just welcomed a son together less than a year ago in May 2022. 
Like Pink, Rihanna said having babies has helped her career, not hurt it. 
“It’s this knowing that you can do anything,” she <a href="https://www.vogue.co.uk/arts-and-lifestyle/article/rihanna-british-vogue-interview" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> British Vogue of becoming a mom. “What the heck am I thinking? But you’re geeked on a challenge like that because you know what your body just did,” Rihanna continued while speaking about why she felt confident enough to perform at such an important event. “You feel this sense of ‘Nothing is impossible.’”
Meanwhile, the “We Found Love” singer lambasted Alabama Republicans in 2019 for passing the Human Life Protection Act, which outlaws most abortions, with an exception for when a mother’s life is at risk.
Rihanna also founded the nonprofit organization The Clara Lionel Foundation, which has worked with abortion provider International Planned Parenthood Federation, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/abortion-activist-rihanna-and-boyfriend-rapper-welcome-first-child-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
Many pro-life activists used Rihanna’s Super Bowl pregnancy announcement to stress how women can in fact have babies and careers. 
Abby Johnson <a href="https://twitter.com/AbbyJohnson/status/1624957827562278913">tweeted</a>: “Dear Pro-Abortion Mob: Rihanna didn’t need to kill her unborn children to be successful. She’s a billionaire and just performed at the super bowl while pregnant with her second child. Take a couple lessons from her.”
Christine Yeargin <a href="https://twitter.com/christineyeargs/status/1624952875385520129" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tweeted</a> that “Rihanna revealing her pregnancy during her Super Bowl halftime performance is pro-life vibes.” 
After getting backlash from followers, Yeargin clarified her statements in the comments, sharing that she knows Rihanna is pro-abortion but wanted to acknowledge the inadvertent pro-life message the singer sent during her performance.
Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence also presents conflicting views on abortion. She shared her thoughts during a September <a href="https://finance.yahoo.com/news/jennifer-lawrence-reveals-sex-first-150235075.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">interview</a> with Vogue.
“The morning after I gave birth, I felt like my whole life had started over,” she said of having a son with husband Cooke Maroney in February 2022. 
“Like, Now is day one of my life. I just stared. I was just so in love. I also fell in love with all babies everywhere. Newborns are just so amazing. They’re these pink, swollen, fragile little survivors. Now I love all babies. Now I hear a baby crying in a restaurant and I’m like, Awwww, preciousssss.”
“My heart has stretched to a capacity that I didn’t know about,” the “Hunger Games” star went on. “I include my husband in that. And then they’re both just, like, out there—walking around, crossing streets. He’s gonna drive one day. He’s gonna be a stupid teenager and be behind the wheel of a car. And I’m just gonna be like, Good night! You know? Like, who sleeps?”
During the same interview, Lawrence questioned her conservative relatives and lamented the overturning of Roe as well. 
“I remember a million times thinking about it while I was pregnant,” she said of abortion. “Thinking about the things that were happening to my body. And I had a great pregnancy. I had a very fortunate pregnancy. But every single second of my life was different. And it would occur to me sometimes: What if I was forced to do this?”
This new crop of celebrities stand in stark contrast to others who claim they only have their careers because they were able to have abortions. Fleetwood Mac lead singer Stevie Nicks is part of that camp.
&#8220;If I had not had that abortion, I&#8217;m pretty sure there would have been no Fleetwood Mac,&#8221; Nicks <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/music/2020/oct/14/stevie-nicks-on-art-ageing-and-attraction-botox-makes-it-look-like-youre-in-a-satanic-cult" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> The Guardian in 2020 &#8220;There&#8217;s just no way that I could have had a child then, working as hard as we worked constantly. I would have had to walk away.&#8221;
The singer claims she has no regrets even though she never had children. 
&#8220;I knew that the music we were going to bring to the world was going to heal so many people&#8217;s hearts and make people so happy,” the singer continued. “And I thought, &#8216;You know what? That&#8217;s really important. There&#8217;s not another band in the world that has two lead women singers, two lead women writers.&#8217; That was my world&#8217;s mission.&#8221;
But lately, it seems more popular to brag about motherhood – unless you’re <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/extremely-sad-chelsea-handlers-day-in-the-life-of-a-childless-woman-spoof-goes-viral" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Chelsea Handler</a>. Celebrities love showing off how they have it all, which includes bragging about how they’re excelling both at being mom and having careers. They just don’t think the rest of us can do that, too.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/rihanna">Rihanna</a> is opening up about why she decided to perform during the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/super-bowl">Super Bowl</a> LVII halftime show despite turning down the same opportunity in 2019.
The 34-year-old <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">singer</a> said at the time she “just couldn’t be a sellout” by performing amid the controversy with former NFL quarterback <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/colin-kaepernick">Colin Kaepernick</a> kneeling for the national anthem to protest alleged <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/racism">racial injustice</a> in the United States.  
“I couldn’t be an enabler,” Rihanna <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2019/oct/09/rihanna-colin-kaepernick-super-bowl-halftime-show-nfl">said</a> in October 2019. “There’s things within that organization that I do not agree with at all, and I was not about to go and be of service to them in any way.”
But did the performer believe that’s all changed in 2023? 
While Rihanna said “there’s a lot of mending to be done,” she also felt it was “powerful to break down those doors and have representation at such a high, high level.”
“Two Super Bowls back-to-back, you know, representing the urban community, globally. It is powerful. It sends a really strong message,” Rihanna told British Vogue during a new <a href="https://www.vogue.co.uk/arts-and-lifestyle/article/rihanna-british-vogue-interview">interview</a>. This comment referred to last year’s Super Bowl halftime show, which included performances by Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, and Eminem. 
The “Umbrella” singer said having her first child also played into the decision. 
“Raising a young black man is one of the scariest responsibilities in life. You’re like, ‘What am I leaving my kids to? This is the planet they’re gonna be living on?’ All of those things really start to hit differently,” she told the publication.
Rihanna surprised fans by agreeing to perform after boycotting the event so publicly just a few years ago. Then she shocked them again during the show after taking the stage in a form-hugging outfit that showed off her baby bump. Her representative later confirmed that Rihanna is pregnant.
Later in the interview, the Barbados-born recording artist said her decision to perform was also spurred by becoming a mom. “It’s this knowing that you can do anything,” she told British Vogue.
“What the heck am I thinking? But you’re geeked on a challenge like that because you know what your body just did,” Rihanna continued. “You feel this sense of ‘Nothing is impossible.’” 
The singer previously talked about how she only chose projects that she considered worthy of her time ever since having her son.

A rep for the singer <a href="https://www.foxsports.com/stories/nfl/rihannas-halftime-show-with-her-special-guest-was-perfect">verified</a> the news Sunday night after Rihanna’s tight-fitting outfit set the internet into a frenzy of speculation. The 34-year-old <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">star</a> could be seen rubbing her stomach during her performance of “Diamonds,” which led fans to assume she was referring to the child while singing.
Rihanna and rapper A$AP Rocky just welcomed their first baby last May. 
Just before the performance on Sunday, she had opened up about how motherhood changed the trajectory of her career.

The &#8220;Umbrella&#8221; singer also told People that her work-life balance was “almost impossible” now that she&#8217;s become a parent.
“No matter how you look at it, work is always something that’s going to rob you of time with your child. That’s the currency now, that’s where it goes. The magnitude of how much it weighs,&#8221; Rihanna said during a press conference with Apple Music, per <a href="https://people.com/parents/rihanna-work-life-balance-almost-impossible-new-mom/">People</a>.
