Emmy-nominated roast comedian Nikki Glaser will once again host the Golden Globes awards show in January 2026 after she hosted this year’s show, receiving very positive reviews.
“Hosting the Golden Globes this year was without a doubt the most fun I have ever had in my career,” Glaser said in a statement on Thursday to <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/golden-globes-nikki-glaser-to-return-as-host-in-2026-1236162520/">The Hollywood Reporter</a> following the announcement from CBS and the Golden Globes.
“I can’t wait to do it again, and this time in front of the team from ‘The White Lotus,’ who will finally recognize my talent and cast me in season four as a Scandinavian Pilates instructor with a shadowy past,” she added.
President of the Golden Globes, Helen Hoehne, added that, “Nikki Glaser brought a refreshing spark and fearless wit to the Golden Globes stage this year. Her sharp humor and bold presence set the tone for an unforgettable night, making the ceremony feel vibrant and most of all fun.”
Despite Glaser’s praise as host, the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/golden-globes-host-roasts-stars-for-trump-re-election">Golden Globes</a> actually saw a slight drop in ratings from the previous year, <a href="https://variety.com/2025/tv/news/golden-globes-2025-ratings-1236267097/">Variety</a> reported.
Nielsen showed a dip of two percent in the ratings for the awards show, with 9.3 million viewers, compared to the average of 9.4 million viewers the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/golden-globes-see-spike-in-ratings-for-first-time-since-2020">Golden Globes</a> brought in 2024.
Last year’s show was up 51 percent from when the show aired on NBC in 2023, when it drew an average of 6.25 million viewers — marking the second-smallest audience in the network’s 28 years of broadcasting the awards show, <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/tv-ratings-sunday-jan-7-2024-1235782200/">per Nielsen</a>. 
To put this year’s numbers in context, before the pandemic, the Globes averaged nearly 20 million viewers between 2008-2019, the <a href="https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/business/story/2024-01-08/golden-globe-awards-9-4-million-viewers-cbs-robert-downey-jo-koy">LA Times</a> noted.

In a clip posted on <a href="https://x.com/goldenglobes/status/1876077747359088733">X</a>, the comedian/host called out the biggest members of Hollywood for not being persuasive enough to convince people who to vote for in the 2024 election, as the majority of stars had been very vocal supporters of the Democratic presidential nominee and former Vice President Kamala Harris.
“I am not here to roast you tonight,” Glaser told the crowd after pointing out that she’s known for being a comedian on roasts. “I want you to know that. How could I really. You are all so famous. So talented.”
“So powerful,” she added. “I mean you could really do anything. I mean except tell the country who to vote for. But it’s okay, you&#8217;ll get them next time. If there is one. I’m scared.”
Ahead of the award night, the comedian hinted at what her monologue would be about — and took the opportunity to warn viewers that she wasn’t going to be just like Gervais, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/im-not-ricky-gervais-golden-globes-host-promises-celebs-wont-be-offended-by-her-monologue">reported</a>.
In January 2020, Gervais hosted the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCNdTLHZAeo">Golden Globes</a> and famously torched the stars, telling them, “So, if you do win an award tonight, don&#8217;t use it as a platform to make a political speech. You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world.&#8221;

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/ricky-gervais">Ricky Gervais</a> torched the winners of the 67th Grammy Awards who used their time on the show to give political speeches about things like DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion), transgender issues, and illegal immigrants. 
In the post on <a href="https://x.com/rickygervais/status/1886361303268094204">X</a> on Monday, the 63-year-old comedian and actor shared a screenshot of the message he gave celebrities in January of 2020 — when he last hosted the Golden Globes — and told stars,  “You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything.”
He captioned his post, “They’re still not listening.”

The producer and director later shared a <a href="https://x.com/gervaisclips/status/1885438197577941012">clip</a> from that unforgettable and brutal NSFW monologue he gave at his final turn hosting the Golden Globes. The monologue ended up going viral after he took a verbal sledgehammer to celebrities and big tech companies for their hypocrisy. In total, the “After Life” star has hosted the Globes five times.
To open the show, Gervais said it would be the last time he planned to host the Golden Globes or any other awards shows, sharing that he doesn’t “care anymore. I’m joking. I never did. NBC clearly don’t care either — fifth time. I mean, Kevin Hart was fired from the Oscars because of some offensive tweets — hello?”
He closed out the segment by telling stars not to use the platform to “make a political speech” noting that they weren’t in any position to “lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg.”
“So if you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent, and your God, and f*** off, OK?” Gervais added.
At the <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/music-news/lady-gaga-trans-people-not-invisible-2025-grammys-trump-1236125567/">Grammy Awards</a> on Sunday, host Trevor Noah took a jab at President Donald Trump and said, “There’s been a few changes in Washington. I’m going to enjoy tonight because this may be the last time I get to host anything in this country.”
When Lady Gaga went up to accept the award for Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her “Die With a Smile” duet with Bruno Mars, she spoke about <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-signs-executive-order-protecting-kids-from-irreversible-gender-transition-procedures" target="_blank" rel="noopener">transgender issues</a> following Trump’s signing of an Executive Order that makes it crystal clear, the United States only recognizes two genders, a male and female.
“Trans people are not invisible. Trans people deserve love,” the singer said. “The queer community deserves to be lifted up. <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/t/music/">Music</a> is love.”
Shakira was honored for Best Latin pop album and said, “I want to dedicate this award to all of my immigrant brothers and sisters in this country. You are loved, you’re worth it and I will always fight for you.&#8221; Her comment was in reaction to Trump&#8217;s crackdown on <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/illegal-immigration" target="_blank" rel="noopener">illegal immigration</a>.
Near the end of the show, singer Alicia Keys was honored with the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award, and claimed that &#8220;DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) &#8220;is not a threat, it’s a gift. And the more voices, the more powerful the sound.” Trump and numerous corporations across the country have opted to get rid of their <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/target-rolls-back-dei-joining-other-major-companies-like-walmart-meta" target="_blank" rel="noopener">DEI programs</a>.

In a clip posted on <a href="https://x.com/goldenglobes/status/1876077747359088733">X</a>, the comedian/host kicked off the 82nd annual award show by calling out the biggest members of Hollywood for failing to convince people who to vote for in the 2024 election, with the majority of stars being very vocal supporters of the former Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris .
“I am not here to roast you tonight,” Glaser told the crowd after pointing out that she’s known for being a comedian on roasts. “I want you to know that. How could I really. You are all so famous. So talented.”

At one point in her opening monologue, Glaser also cracked a joke about the weight loss injection “Ozempic,” calling it the drug&#8217;s biggest night, and the sexual harassment in Hollywood that was mentioned numerous times during the #MeToo movement.
“I gotta say this feels like I finally made it,” Glaser told the audience. “I’m in a room full of producers at the Beverly Hilton Hotel and this time all of my clothes are on. So, yeah, it was worth it.”

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/comedian">Comedian</a> Nikki Glaser gave a preview of what she has planned for her <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/golden-globes">Golden Globes</a> monologue Sunday, explaining how she aims to entertain without truly offending the celebrities in attendance.
The 40-year-old stand-up performer gained attention for participating in a roast of Tom Brady that aired on Netflix last May.
&#8220;I am doing what I was hired to do, which is, I got this because of the Tom Brady roast. That is not lost on me,&#8221; Glaser <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/nikki-glaser-tells-stars-attending-the-golden-globes-come-ready-to-laugh-but-dont-expect-any-it-ends-with-us-jokes-231423570.html">told</a> Yahoo Entertainment on Thursday. &#8220;So I&#8217;m going to bring that to this for sure. It&#8217;s not gonna be watered down, [but] the tone will be different for this.&#8221;
The comedian went on to compare her set to that of another Golden Globes host, who went viral in 2020 for mocking the audience beyond the typical <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hollywood">Hollywood</a> roast.
&#8220;I&#8217;m not gonna go so hard that anyone&#8217;s gonna be offended,&#8221; Glaser continued. &#8220;I&#8217;ve made a point not to, and that&#8217;s not to disappoint anyone who&#8217;s hoping I&#8217;m going to pull a Ricky Gervais. I&#8217;m not Ricky Gervais. This isn&#8217;t my last Golden Globes, this is my first one. He really went hard on his last one. He was ready to burn some bridges [because] it didn&#8217;t matter anymore.&#8221;
She went on to say that good-natured jokes allow stars to connect with their audience and “look cool.”
&#8220;Celebrities shouldn&#8217;t be nervous because it&#8217;s a great opportunity for them to look cool,&#8221; the stand-up comedian said. &#8220;People at home feel disconnected from celebrities. Although that&#8217;s a thing we like about them that we put them on these pedestals, we&#8217;re really looking for some humanity from them.” 
Glaser added, “And I would really encourage celebrities to just laugh at jokes about you. I know it sucks sometimes. … So if I make a joke about a bad movie you did once that you had nothing to do with, other than that you were great in a bad movie, just laugh. It&#8217;s a really easy way to look likable to the public and actually it&#8217;s a great PR move.”
She added, “Everyone in your camp should encourage you to laugh at jokes. It doesn&#8217;t make you cooler to not laugh. &#8230; I&#8217;m trying to make you look good. I really am not out to hurt anyone&#8217;s career.&#8221;
Glaser said she might dabble in the topic of politics but “will not be too heavy-handed” because “people are tired of hearing about it.”
The one topic she won’t discuss is the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/justin-baldoni-files-250m-libel-lawsuit-against-nyt-over-blake-lively-report">current drama</a> between “It Ends With Us” co-stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. “&#8230;even a mere mention of it will seem like I could be on the wrong side of things, even though I would never be,&#8221; she said. &#8220;I also don&#8217;t want to give his name any — I&#8217;m mad I even know his name, to be honest with you, so I don&#8217;t need to say it anymore.&#8221;
“I just want to walk out there and make everyone feel like we&#8217;re in good hands because the host really does set the tone for the whole evening,&#8221; Glaser concluded. &#8220;The tone is celebratory, but also, let&#8217;s laugh about how ridiculous this is with the state of the world that we&#8217;re all dressed up and giving out awards for playing pretend. We have to acknowledge that that&#8217;s silly, even though it is amazing.&#8221;

During the 81st annual awards show on Sunday, the 57-year-old actor and comic got more cheers and applause for his jokes than the comedian picked to host the 2024 show, Jo Koy.

And over on X (formerly Twitter), the response to Gaffigan’s brief moment on the show was similar, with people posting clips of his bit along with clips of Gervais torching Hollywood four years earlier at the 2020 Golden Globes — all while <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/jo-koy-golden-globes-host-canceled-worst-jokes-memes-1858494" target="_blank" rel="noopener">panning</a> the current host, Koy.
&#8220;Is it me or is this becoming a trend?” one person wrote on social media comparing the two comedians&#8217; appearances. &#8220;Jim Gaffigan pulled a Ricky Gervais at the Golden Globes. I&#8217;m here for it.&#8221;
Another added, &#8220;This is epic!  We got a [Ricky Gervais] moment at Pedowood&#8217;s 2024 Golden Globe.&#8221;
A third person included a side-by-side clip of Gaffigan&#8217;s appearance alongside <a href="https://twitter.com/Dknarfstudios/status/1744203687541543324/video/1">Gervais</a> —who torched Hollywood over its &#8220;pedophile movies&#8221; and cracked a joke about convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein while hosting the show in 2020.

A joke from the show about &#8220;crafting videos for terminally ill children&#8221; and the &#8220;Make A Wish&#8221; Foundation did cause a bit of controversy. Gervais said he always starts out the video by asking the kids,&#8221;Why didn’t you wish to get better? What are you f***ing ret**ed as well?&#8221;

“<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/comedy">The Office</a>” is getting a remake, but now a woman will play the boss.
An <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/australia">Australian</a> version of the classic <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/television">NBC comedy</a> is currently in production, according to a report by <a href="https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/female-the-office-australia-prime-video-1235628956/">Variety</a>. Hannah Howard (Felicity Ward) will be the person in charge of this new iteration. 
The American version of the hit show aired from 2005 to 2013. “The Office” followed everyday employees working at the fictional paper company Dunder Mifflin in Scranton, Pennsylvania. One of the most iconic members of the staff was manager Michael Scott (Steve Carell).
“The Office” was based on the British comedy of the same name starring <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/ricky-gervais">Ricky Gervais</a> as the head honcho.
“I’m very excited about Australia remaking my little show from the turn of the century,” Gervais told Variety of the new project. “Office politics have changed a bit in 20 years, so can’t wait to see how they navigate a modern-day David Brent,” he said, referring to his character.
Other “Office” spinoffs exist in other countries, including France, Canada, Chile, Israel, and the Middle East, the outlet noted.
The newest Australian version will feature employees of a packaging company called Flinley Craddick being forced to work from home after COVID shutdowns. Manager Hannah will go to great lengths to keep her &#8220;office family&#8221; together despite these changes.
One of the most beloved aspects of the American version of “The Office” was the outlandish and irreverent humor, which one of the show’s stars said would never be accepted in today’s political climate.
Mindy Kaling acknowledged that the popular NBC comedy couldn’t exist in today’s hyper-sensitive, politically correct culture and said she believed most characters “would be canceled.”
“That show is so inappropriate now,” Kaling <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/mindy-kaling-says-the-office-is-so-inappropriate-now-and-most-characters-would-be-canceled">said</a> during an interview with Good Morning America in December.

“The writers who I’m still in touch with now, we always talk about how so much of that show we probably couldn’t make now,” she said. 
“Tastes have changed, and honestly what offends people has changed so much now. I think that actually is one of the reasons the show is popular, because people feel like there’s something kind of fearless about it or taboo that it talks about on the show.”
The newest version of “The Office” will be available to stream on Prime Video worldwide sometime in 2024.

No one is watching awards shows like they used to.
In mid-January, the Golden Globes only managed to draw 6.3 million television viewers, representing the lowest numbers in several years and a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/despite-diversity-efforts-golden-globes-ratings-tank-for-2023-show" target="_blank" rel="noopener">26% decrease</a> in audience compared to 2021. That particular awards show has been plagued by controversy for years as critics accused the Hollywood Foreign Press Association of being racist. 
But no one watched the ceremony even after they spent a full year fine-tuning diversity initiatives.
The Globes are not the only awards show suffering from a chronic lack of viewers. In September, the 74th Annual Emmy Awards attracted a mere 5.9 million eyes, a huge 25% drop from the previous year’s show. The event, touted as “television’s biggest night,” fell short of expectations in 2022.
Meanwhile, even the glitz and glamor of the Oscars wasn’t enough to draw people in like it has in the past. The 94th Academy Awards <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/second-least-watched-oscars-in-history" target="_blank" rel="noopener">was a huge fail</a> as it represents the second-least watched Oscars in the history of the show since Nielsen started tracking viewers in the mid-1970s.
There was a time when major broadcasts like the Academy Awards attracted an audience second only to the Super Bowl. So what’s going on with awards shows? Are TV watchers just over it?
There are several explanations for what’s going on and most of them aren’t pandemic related. But the pause in live broadcasts did affect viewership numbers and those people realized they don’t miss watching enough to tune back in.
“Once you’ve broken the habit, it’s hard to get them back,” said Preston Beckman, a media consultant who worked previously at Fox and NBC, <a href="https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/business/story/2021-04-13/oscars-grammys-awards-shows-ratings-struggling" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> the LA Times of people abandoning awards shows.
The same article noted that members of the 18 to 49 demographic, which they identified as the most attractive to advertisers, are not interested in live broadcasts the same way previous generations were. These viewers are hooked on streaming services, and while that may mean missing out on Will Smith slapping Chris Rock on live TV, there’s always Twitter and thousands of follow-up memes to catch them up on what happened.
There’s a consensus among viewers that these shows are long, boring, and unnecessary. Even TV and movie fans who put value in which projects win don’t care to spend three hours of their lives waiting to find out the results.
Further, awards shows aren’t doing themselves any favors by nominating obscure, niche films that most people haven’t heard of. Would-be viewers are less likely to watch because they don’t agree that these are the best entertainment being created.
“As social media has risen, awards shows generally have declined because award shows represent a very top-down structure. ‘We, institution, will tell you, customer, what it is that you should like,’” Berklee College of Music professor George Howard <a href="https://bunewsservice.com/the-death-of-awards-shows-do-people-no-longer-care/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> BU News Service of why people were tuning out. “Now, that’s been inverted, where it’s ‘we, customer, will tell you, institution, what we like.’”
And let’s not forget one of the most common complaints about watching millionaires hand each other gold statues, a sentiment which rubs some people wrong even when the economy is healthy.
“The problem is, the big stars are completely dependent on the institution, so they have to play along with the charade that is totally self-congratulatory and totally divorced from any type of reality in order to keep the gravy train going,” Howard observed. “People, frankly, do not care.”
There’s another important problem with awards shows that the media rarely talks about. As the industry becomes increasingly politicized, celebrities are using awards speeches as a platform to broadcast their Left-wing talking points, which is in turn alienating half their potential audience. Viewers are sick of being lectured, so they’re simply not watching anymore.
Even the LA Times <a href="https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/business/story/2021-04-13/oscars-grammys-awards-shows-ratings-struggling" target="_blank" rel="noopener">admitted</a> this was a major culprit for the viewership decline, writing, “some audience members don’t want to hear stars presenting their political positions on the programs.”
Awards show organizers have been working hard to bring the audience back. In 2020, the HFPA invited Ricky Gervais to host the Golden Globes, knowing he’d be controversial enough to attract viewers on both sides of the political spectrum.
The British comedian absolutely skewered members or “woke” Hollywood, telling jokes about Jeffrey Epstein, Harvey Weinstein, Prince Andrew, and MeToo while movie stars like Tom Hanks looked on with looks of pure shock on their faces.
&#8220;You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything,&#8221; he told the gathered crowd of celebrities. &#8220;You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg.&#8221;
“If you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent, and your God and f*** off,” he said. “You say you&#8217;re woke but the companies you work for in China — unbelievable. Apple, Amazon, Disney. If ISIS started a streaming service you&#8217;d call your agent, wouldn&#8217;t you?”
Gervais isn’t conservative, but it had been so long since liberals allowed honest jokes that viewers immediately branded him that way.
“How the f*** can teasing huge corporations and the richest, most privileged people in the world be considered right-wing?” he <a href="https://twitter.com/rickygervais/status/1214328382298755072?lang=en" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wondered</a> on Twitter.
Predictably, Gervais wasn’t invited back to host the Globes. But it’s unclear if a provocative host would do anything to delay the continuing slow death march of the once mighty award show genre.
The reality is that ABC, CBS, and NBC all pay extraordinary licensing fees to broadcast these awards shows. If viewership continues declining, there could come a point when the networks consider it too costly to keep them just for nostalgia’s sake.
And if they went away, would anyone care that much?

The “Late Late Night” host admitted that the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/comedy">joke</a> came from Gervais first. 
“Inadvertently told a brilliant Ricky Gervais joke on the show last night, obviously not knowing it came from him,” Corden shared on Twitter. “It’s brilliant, because it’s a Ricky Gervais joke. You can watch all Ricky’s excellent specials on Netflix. J x.”

The replies on his confession tweet were limited to mentions only.
Corden was responding to the compilation user Paul Anthony made of Gervais telling the joke along with the late night host telling it. “Plagiarism? I don’t know what people are talking about, these two jokes by @JKCorden and @rickygervais are barely similar,” he wrote in the <a href="https://twitter.com/PaulFI9/status/1587396813199495169">caption</a>.
The joke is about someone putting up an ad offering guitar lessons on a public bulletin board and then becoming angry because they don’t personally want to take lessons. It was done as a comparison to Elon Musk taking over Twitter.

&#8220;Elon Musk talks about Twitter and goes &#8216;Well it&#8217;s the town square.&#8217; I&#8217;m like, &#8216;But it isn&#8217;t.'&#8221; Corden said during his monologue. &#8220;Because if someone puts up a poster in the town square that says &#8216;guitar lessons available&#8217; you don&#8217;t get people in the town going &#8216;I don&#8217;t want to play guitar! “Well then that sign wasn’t for you!” Corden says in his bit, while Gervais also says, “Fine, it’s not for you then. Just walk away.”
Within a few hours, the clip had two million views. Gervais addressed the incident on Twitter but has since deleted his tweet. The original joke came from Gervais&#8217; 2018 stand-up special “Humanity.”
Many followers pointed out that Corden wasn’t likely the person who wrote the joke, but rather one of the “Late Late Show” employees was responsible for copying Gervais.
“So many people blaming Corden for this as if he writes his own jokes. He has a whole team of writers on that show. Obviously one of them ripped it off. Joke wasn’t even very funny,” one person <a href="https://twitter.com/ArtyFrayn/status/1587415727732318210">observed</a>.
“I know Corden is very unlikely to have written this bit himself: this snafu is a good opportunity for him to take responsibility &amp; not throw the person who wrote his script under a bus,” another <a href="https://twitter.com/RupertMyers/status/1587419329158586371">wrote</a>.

Earlier this year, &#8220;The Office&#8221; star reportedly told an audience in London that he &#8220;wouldn’t have made a joke about&#8221; Jada Pinkett Smith&#8217;s shaved head if he had hosted the Oscars, but would have made wisecracks about &#8220;her boyfriend&#8221; instead.
&#8220;I&#8217;ll get it out of the way,&#8221; the &#8220;Ghost Town&#8221; star <a href="https://www.cinemablend.com/movies/ricky-gervais-shares-his-take-on-chris-rocks-jada-pinkett-smith-oscars-joke-and-how-he-ended-up-trending-after-the-will-smith-slap">shared</a>. &#8220;I have not got any Will Smith material. The &#8220;After Life&#8221; star famously hosted the Globes five times, with his opening monologue from 2020 going viral after he took a sledgehammer to celebrities and big tech companies for their hypocrisy.

To open the show, Gervais said it would be last time he planned to host the Golden Globes or any awards shows, sharing that he doesn&#8217;t &#8220;care anymore. I’m joking. I never did. The 18-year-old biological son of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/elon-musk">Elon Musk</a>, who identifies as female, has filed court papers renouncing the billionaire and seeking a name change.
Xavier Musk wants to be known as Vivian Jenna Wilson, according to a petition filed in April in Los Angeles County Superior Court in Santa Monica, California, and first reported by the <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10935873/Elon-Musks-transgender-child-18-files-court-docs-change-distance-him.html">Daily Mail</a>. In requesting a new birth certificate to reflect the name and gender changes, the younger Musk, whose mother is Canadian author Justine Wilson, dissed the Tesla boss.
“Gender Identity and the fact that I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form,” the younger Musk <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/elon-musk-transgender-comments-resurface-child-changes-gender-1717486">gave</a> as the reason for wanting a name change.
Wilson and Musk were married from 2000 until 2008 and had six children. Xavier has a twin brother named Griffin and triplet brothers, Damian, Kai, and Saxon. Another son, Nevada, died of sudden infant death syndrome.
Musk has two other children with singer Grimes, X Æ A-Xii and Exa Dark Sideræl, who goes by Y. Grimes and Musk broke up earlier this year, and now she is reportedly dating transgender ex-Army soldier Chelsea Manning, who served time for giving confidential documents to WikiLeaks, before the sentence was commuted by then-President Obama.
Xavier Musk did not give a reason for rejecting the elder Musk, but it came just as Musk has been increasingly seen as opposing radical gender theory. On Monday, it was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/lgbtq-diversity-officials-heads-roll-at-elon-musks-tesla">reported</a> that the Tesla chief had sacked the automaker’s volunteer “President of LGBTQ+,” although the move may have simply been part of a previously announced plan to reduce the company’s staff by 10%.
Musk has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/elon-musks-partner-grimes-publicly-scolds-him-after-he-tweets-pronouns-suck">complained</a> about people specifying their pronouns, <a href="https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/comedy/news/ricky-gervais-elon-musk-netflix-b2090144.html">expressed</a> support for comic Ricky Gervais after he was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ricky-gervais-unloads-on-transgender-mania-in-nsfw-rant">accused</a> of being a transphobe, and even responded to a review of The Daily Wire’s documentary on radical gender theory, “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/subscribe-today-two">What Is A Woman?</a>”
