<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/reese-witherspoon" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Reese Witherspoon</a> shut down rumors that she and actress Kate Winslet weren’t speaking after the internet decided that the two stars had some kind of “falling out.”
It all started with comments the “Legally Blonde” star made during an interview with her costar Will Ferrell for their movie “You’re Cordially Invited” for <a href="https://people.com/reese-witherspoon-sets-record-straight-kate-winslet-falling-out-8784427">People magazine</a>.
Speaking about a time when one of the stars wished they hadn&#8217;t given a speech, Witherspoon recalled being asked by someone she called a “proper” actress if she would present an award to the unnamed star. Reese said she agreed, but mistakenly thought it was more like a roast for her &#8212; but it wasn’t.
&#8220;This friend of mine, who I didn&#8217;t really know that well, but she was a very serious, proper actress, she asked me to give her an award,” the actress said. “But I had never been to this award ceremony, so I thought it was like a roast.”

“So I got up and I roasted her,” she added. “The tone was British and elegant and classy. I’m still embarrassed about it. We’re not friends anymore. I’m not even kidding — we’re not friends anymore.”
&#8220;I think she doesn’t like me anymore,” Witherspoon continued. “I thought it was so funny, and it was just — I had the wrong audience. It was pretty bad. Yeah. Not even kidding, she doesn’t talk to me anymore. Oh well.&#8221;
So, the internet decided to do some digging and determined that it must’ve happened when the actress presented Winslet with a BAFTA/LA Cunard Britannia Award in 2007, the outlet noted.
“The Morning Show” star caught wind of the speculation and decided to make clear that she and Winslet were in fact still friends, and it wasn’t the actress she mentioned in the interview.
&#8220;Hey guys &#8230; just spoke to my very dear friend for years, Kate W. We laughed about this stupidity,” Witherspoon said in her Instagram Stories. “Please do not believe the internet. We are good friends and have never had any falling out.&#8221;
In another post, the Oscar winner added, &#8220;This is completely UNTRUE &#8230;so silly!&#8221;

“Legally Blonde” star <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/reese-witherspoon">Reese Witherspoon</a> recalled one time she was chosen as jury foreman after people really believed she went to law school because of her role in the hit 2001 movie.
Speaking on BBC’s “<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhOsnALog-Y">The Graham Norton Show</a>,” the 48-year-old actress said, like many of us, she was picked for jury duty and didn’t really want to serve. But when she ended up having to do her civic duty, her portrayal of law school student Elle Woods helped her score a high-powered role in the jury.
“Listen, I did not want to do jury duty,” Witherspoon said. “But I remember it was probably seven years after ‘Legally Blonde,’ I got called for jury duty and it was in Beverly Hills. And I thought, ‘Surely they’re not gonna pick me.’ They picked me for a long trial, y’all. It was probably two weeks.”

“No listen, it was two solid weeks, every day going in,” she added, revealing it was a dog bite case. “And then we went to deliberation and so at the very end they say, ‘OK, well somebody in this group has to be the foreman.’ And they all unanimously are like, ‘Her.’ Me!”
“And I was like, ‘why did you pick me?’” Witherspoon continued. “And they were all like, ‘You went to law school.&#8217; I was like, ‘Y’all, this is really upsetting. I definitely did not go to law school, I didn’t finish college.’ I played a lawyer in a movie once, but they fully made me the foreman and I started realizing … people don’t know much about the law. And if you get picked for jury duty, please do it because, honestly, some bad stuff goes on down there y’all.”
In November, the superstar actress made headlines when she responded to rumors that she was dating “Yellowstone” star Kevin Costner, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/reese-witherspoon-has-something-to-say-about-those-kevin-costner-dating-rumors">reported</a>.

The rumors started after Australian publication <a href="https://www.newidea.com.au/reese-witherspoon-kevin-costner-relationship">New Idea</a> reported that an insider said, “Kevin’s had his eye on Reese ever since she won her Oscar, but he didn’t count on finding her absolutely charming as hell.”
“They’ve been calling and texting on the pretense of finding the perfect script, but it’s becoming almost a daily occurrence,” the alleged insider added.
“No-one is surprised that Kevin and Reese have hit it off,” the alleged source continued. “They’re extremely compatible.”
Last year, Witherspoon announced she and ex-husband Jim Toth were separating after 11 years of marriage, just days before their 12th wedding anniversary, the <a href="https://theblast.com/518944/reese-witherspoon-is-officially-divorced-from-jim-toth-after-signing-agreement/">Blast</a> noted.

It all started after the 47-year-old actress posted a video that&#8217;s since gone viral on <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@reesewitherspoon/video/7325618152522419499">TikTok</a> about how to make a yummy treat on a cold day she dubbed a &#8220;snow salt chococinno.”
In the clip, the &#8220;Legally Blonde&#8221; star walked outside with two giant mugs — and she scooped up two cups of snow. She then went back inside and added salted caramel and chocolate syrup to the mug, topping off the whole thing with some cold brew. 
&#8220;First we scooped the snow into cups and we added salt,&#8221; Witherspoon said. &#8220;And we added salted caramel syrup and chocolate syrup and then we decide to add some cold brew just to have a yummy coffee flavor.&#8221;
&#8220;Snow days were made for Chococinnos,&#8221; the actress captioned the post.

The video drew a <a href="https://www.etonline.com/reese-witherspoon-responds-to-critics-of-her-snow-recipe-i-just-cant-218364">fierce debate</a> about whether or not it was &#8220;safe&#8221; to eat snow from outside, with <a href="https://parade.com/news/reese-witherspoon-fans-bombard-her-with-safety-concerns-after-eating-treat-made-from-snow">commenters</a> writing things like,&#8221; No no no &#8230; snow is not made to eat &#8230; you can get seriously sick.&#8221;
Another person added, &#8220;I thought eating snow was like dangerous to our health.&#8221;
While a third shared, &#8220;Can you put snow in a clear cup and let it melt. I just want to see if it&#8217;s safe to eat first.&#8221;
&#8220;The Morning Show&#8221; star reacted to the critics and pointed out that she grew up in a time when kids dared to drink unfiltered water.
&#8220;So many people on here saying that snow is dirty,&#8221; Witherspoon replied in a second <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@reesewitherspoon/video/7326185286487215406">clip</a>. &#8220;So we went and took snow from the backyard and microwaved it.&#8221;
She then showed the mug with water that was totally clear and said, &#8220;I didn’t grow up drinking filtered water, we drank out of the tap water. We actually put our mouths on the tap.&#8221;
Witherspoon then laughed and said that for those saying she must first filter the snow, &#8220;I just can&#8217;t.&#8221; She added, &#8220;Filter snow? I don&#8217;t know how to do that,&#8221; and continued giggling.

Three artists were picked as talent scouts to search the world for those who will compete which includes 2021 CMA new artist of the year winner Jimmie Allen, country singer Mickey Guyton, and LGBTQ country artist Orville Peck.

Toth and Witherspoon have a ten-year-old son, Tennessee. The actress also shares two children, Ava, 23, and Deacon, 19, with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe. 
The couple married in Ojai in 2011, and Witherspoon raved about Toth being “a really good person.”
“He’s an incredible man, a wonderful organizer, a great leader. He knows how to get people together,” Witherspoon <a href="https://people.com/movies/reese-witherspoon-shows-off-her-valentine-husband-jim-toth-in-adorable-instagram-post/">told</a> People of Toth in 2020. “He’s very patient and funny with the kids. And he really encourages them to see the humor in life.”
Witherspoon and her ex Phillippe have applauded themselves on co-parenting since they split in 2008.

We met at her 21st birthday party, and then she was with child, but – knowing how volatile Hollywood relationships can be – I knew that even if we didn’t make it, she would be a great person to raise kids with,” Phillippe said during a 2022 <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/film/2022/oct/10/teen-dream-ryan-phillippe-co-parenting-reese-witherspoon-justin-timberlake">interview</a> with The Guardian. 
“I’ve never said a bad word about her or our past, and I never would. I respect and admire her, and we made some pretty great and beautiful kids,” he went on. 
The pair made headlines in 2002 when Phillippe quipped that Witherspoon was more successful than him while they were presenting at the 74th Academy Awards.
“You make more than I do. Go ahead,” the actor said when his then-wife asked if she could read the winner.

&#8220;You&#8217;ve been memed!&#8221; one of the hosts explained, saying that people had described the photos as &#8220;awkward&#8221; and &#8220;like a school photo&#8221; — and Kutcher finally interrupted to set the record straight.
&#8220;Ok, hold on. Hold on,&#8221; he said. &#8220;My wife called me — she texted Reese and I together and she&#8217;s like, &#8216;Guys. You gotta, like, you gotta, like, act like you like each other. And I was like, &#8216;What is going on?'&#8221;
The hosts laughed as Kutcher continued, &#8220;Okay, all right, here’s the thing: If I put my arm around her and was, like, all friendly with her, I’d be having an affair with her. The rumor would be that I&#8217;m having an affair with her.&#8221;
What Kutcher soon learned, however, was that the rumor mill was going to mill rumors no matter what he and Witherspoon did: &#8220;If I stand next to her and I put my hands in my pockets, so there’s no chance that, like, that could be the rumor, the rumor is we don’t like each other.&#8221;
The hosts laughed again, agreeing that if they stood too far apart, the rumor would be that the two of them &#8220;hated each other.&#8221;
&#8220;Reese and I are really good friends,&#8221; Kutcher said then, adding, &#8220;We&#8217;re really close, I don&#8217;t have to defend that.&#8221;
Kutcher then defended all actors and the occasional &#8220;awkward&#8221; red carpet photo, saying that in all the chaos — with photographers calling their names from multiple directions at once — it would be impossible for every photo to be perfect.
&#8220;If you&#8217;re going to tell me, in that entire 20-minute period, at one point you&#8217;re not going to have an awkward face on? Then you&#8217;re better than I am, and I&#8217;m cool with that,&#8221; he said.

Actress <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/topic/reese-witherspoon/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Reese Witherspoon</a> revealed during a recent interview that she had once &#8220;bricked&#8221; an audition with Academy Award winner <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/topic/robert-de-niro/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Robert De Niro</a> — and to make matters worse, when he saw her again a decade later, he remembered it.
Witherspoon joined the Thursday evening broadcast of &#8220;Jimmy Kimmel Live!&#8221; and she explained to the host that it was one of the first auditions she had ever done as a teenager — for a movie called &#8220;Cape Fear&#8221; with <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/real-life-grinch-tries-to-steal-all-the-presents-from-under-robert-de-niros-tree/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">De Niro</a> and director Martin Scorcese.

The &#8220;Sweet Home Alabama&#8221; star explained that 1991 she had been just 14 years old — and prior to the audition, she hadn&#8217;t really known who De Niro was. When a helpful receptionist clued her in on just how big the &#8220;Goodfellas&#8221; star really was, Witherspoon said she got so nervous that she totally blew it.
&#8220;One of the very first auditions I ever had was with Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese for a movie called &#8216;Cape Fear.&#8217; I didn&#8217;t get it. I&#8217;m not in that movie because I got so scared when I walked in the room,&#8221; she said, adding, &#8220;I didn&#8217;t know who Robert De Niro was, so I was standing outside talking to the receptionist. She was like, &#8216;You know he&#8217;s the most important actor of our time, right?'&#8221;
&#8220;I was 14. I&#8217;d never seen &#8216;Goodfellas.&#8217; I&#8217;d never seen &#8216;The Godfather.&#8217; So it totally got on my nerves,&#8221; she continued.Witherspoon went on to divulge that the audition — while she was reading opposite De Niro — got so bad that she got stuck on one word, struggling to the point that De Niro just jumped in and said it for her. 
But that was only the beginning of Witherspoon&#8217;s story — she said that she went to audition for De Niro again about a decade later, and despite her hopes that he might have forgotten about the last time, he had not.
&#8220;I thought, &#8216;He&#8217;s never gonna remember that I bricked that audition,'&#8221; Witherspoon said.
&#8220;And he was like, &#8216;I remember you.&#8217; I was like, &#8216;Me?&#8217; He&#8217;s like, &#8216;Oh yeah. You&#8217;re the one who couldn&#8217;t say the word.'&#8221;
&#8220;I was like, &#8216;Oh, my God! This is so bad!'&#8221; she exclaimed.

An elite school for girls in grades 5-12 in Nashville, Tennessee, founded in 1865, has revealed it will accept biological males as part of its “expanded” approach to the &#8220;concept of gender.&#8221;
Harpeth Hall, whose alumnae <a href="https://www.outkick.com/elite-nashville-all-girls-school-will-now-admit-biological-males-who-identify-as-female/">include</a> actresses Reese Witherspoon, Minnie Pearl, and singer Amy Grant,  <a href="https://www.nashvillescene.com/news/citylimits/harpeth-hall-confronts-gender-diversity/article_a05b20c4-17fa-11ed-afa4-2704a476985d.html">eliminated</a> the school’s yearly George Washington Day in 2020. Its latest efforts into political correctness featured a <a href="https://resources.finalsite.net/images/v1659986590/harpeth/gdt2uyagjhqpoce9eaaf/SchoolUpdate.pdf">message</a> to parents outlining the new guidelines.
“As the world evolves, so do our students,” the school wrote. “The concept of gender has expanded and deepened over time. The members of our school community have asked good and important questions about gender inclusion and have looked for greater clarity on the school’s practices.”
The school was apparently referencing a<a href="https://www.nashvillescene.com/news/citylimits/harpeth-hall-confronts-gender-diversity/article_a05b20c4-17fa-11ed-afa4-2704a476985d.html"> student newspaper op-ed</a> in March 2021 that complained, &#8220;While the school claims to support trans students, this support needs to be formalized. Additionally, practices must be implemented to ensure the inclusion of trans students because the assumption that all students at Harpeth Hall are cisgender and female does not accurately depict the student body and ostracizes trans students.&#8221;
“With this objective in mind, we have adopted the following guidelines that outline how Harpeth Hall approaches gender diversity within the context of our girls school mission,” the school’s message to the parents continued.
Then it stated:
<blockquote>Any student who identifies as a girl may apply to our school&#8230;. Harpeth Hall acknowledges the developmental journey of each student and recognizes that adolescence includes natural searching and questioning about many topics. For some students, this may include the question of gender identity and the desire to identify as nonbinary or use they/them pronouns. 
Harpeth Hall approaches gender identity with understanding and open communication, rather than with shame or othering, and will provide a safe environment to partner with each student and family to consider the needs and requests of the student on an individual basis.</blockquote>
In an ironic twist, the school then wrote, “If a student communicates a desire to be identified as male or adopt he/him pronouns, we recognize that our school, being a girls school, may no longer be a place that serves that student well.”
Jessica Bliss, director of marketing and communications for the school, responded to the reaction to the school’s message.
“We are and always have been an all-girls independent school,&#8221; she <a href="https://www.tennessean.com/story/news/education/2022/08/10/harpeth-hall-allow-anyone-identifying-female-apply/10289169002/">said</a>. &#8220;There has been no change to Harpeth Hall&#8217;s admission application process which is open to any female student.&#8221;
She added, “Each girl is unique in her own way.”

Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe’s daughter Ava has apparently embraced left-wing gender theory, which is not too shocking for a young adult growing up in the Hollywood lifestyle. Ava Phillippe, 22, made the comments during a fan Q&amp;A on her Instagram page, the Daily Mail <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-10389613/Reese-Witherspoons-daughter-Ava-Phillippe-22-says-gender-whatever.html?ito=social-twitter_dailymailceleb">reported</a>.
A fan apparently asked her, “Do you like boys or girls,” to which Ava responded, “I&#8217;m attracted to… people! (Gender is whatever).” Ava has been in a relationship with Owen Mahoney, a fellow University of California Berkeley student.
Ava is the eldest daughter of Witherspoon and Phillippe, who also share 18-year-old son Deacon together. Witherspoon also has a 9-year-old son, Tennessee, with her current husband Jim Toth.  
Witherspoon recently shared some of the challenges she faced parenting children as a famous actress. She spoke about how different her own childhood was during a conversation with <a href="https://www.instyle.com/celebrity/reese-witherspoon/december-2021-cover">InStyle</a>.
&#8220;It&#8217;s an odd situation because I didn&#8217;t grow up famous. So [Ava is] living an experience that I did not have, and so are my sons,&#8221; the “Big Little Lies” star said. &#8220;We are lucky enough to have friends who grew up in Hollywood and can help give them advice on how to navigate.&#8221;
She continued, discussing how she’s letting her daughter experience her own life journey.
&#8220;Ava is so down-to-earth. She wants to do great things in the world,&#8221; Witherspoon told InStyle. &#8220;She&#8217;s studying and learning and trying to find herself. It&#8217;s a big thing in life to try different things and figure out what is really your path.&#8221;
And while Ava is growing up in the internet age with access to all kinds of information, Witherspoon previously shared how her own background was a lot more sheltered. The A-lister admitted during an interview with “Legally Blonde” co-star Regina King last year that she “didn’t understand what homosexuality was” until moving to Los Angeles when she was just beginning her career as an actress, <a href="https://pagesix.com/2020/06/25/reese-witherspoon-didnt-know-about-gay-people-until-moving-to-l-a/">according to</a> Page Six.
“No one spoke to me about sexuality when I was a teenager,” Witherspoon told King. “I didn&#8217;t understand what homosexuality was. My grandparents didn&#8217;t explain it, my parents didn&#8217;t explain it. I had to learn from somebody I met on an audition in Los Angeles.”
The Academy Award winner was born in New Orleans and raised in Nashville. She now co-owns a media company and clothing line. 
During a 2006 appearance on The Chelsea Handler Show, Witherspoon reflected on her upbringing with a bit of criticism.
“I grew up, obviously, in the South and there is amazing, wonderful connectivity and people are loving and communitive,” the actress said. “But there is a tiny aspect of it, people [that] use parts of the Bible in order to express their intolerance and their hate and they manipulate it.”
She also incorporated a real-life conversation she had with her grandmother about homosexuality into the TV series “Little Fires Everywhere.”
“She said: ‘Homosexuality is very rare, Reese. That’s not a thing that happens very often.’ And we put it in the script,” Witherspoon told Variety.

And now, her tweets are drawing ire for being downright weird.
The actress started trending on Twitter thanks to some surprising things she was saying. Hilariously, the national cheese brand Velveeta had a one-word response that seemed to sum up everyone’s reaction. They simply said, “REESE.” 
Another follower responded by saying, “This is more embarrassing for you than doing late night infomercials.”
Someone else said, “Blink twice if Mark Zuckerberg is holding you hostage.”
Though the “Cruel Intentions” star didn’t clarify her original comment, it does seem connected to Zuckerberg’s push to make the metaverse a mainstream concept. 
After renaming the company Meta in 2021, it <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/facebook-changes-company-name-to-meta-will-focus-on-bringing-the-metaverse-to-life">shared a brief synopsis</a> of goals in a blog post. “Meta’s focus will be to bring the metaverse to life and help people connect, find communities and grow businesses,” the post read.
“The metaverse will feel like a hybrid of today’s online social experiences, sometimes expanded into three dimensions or projected into the physical world. It will let you share immersive experiences with other people even when you can’t be together — and do things together you couldn’t do in the physical world.”
It continued, saying, “It’s the next evolution in a long line of social technologies, and it’s ushering in a new chapter for our company.”
But Reese’s apparent buy-in to Zuckerberg’s new world wasn’t her only controversial social media post of the week. The A-lister also got a lot of blowback after sharing her typical normal routine on Instagram, which many fans saw as unrealistic.
Witherspoon <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CYj1esyIAt-/">wrote</a>: “Let’s talk about habits! Are there any that have improved your daily life? Here are some I’m working towards:

The comments section was flooded with reactions both supporting and questioning the possibility of this type of routine. But by far the best comment of all came courtesy of celebrity chef and Food Network star Ina Garten, who countered with a daily routine suggestion of her own. 
“To quote @reesewitherspoon &#8211; that sounds great but I’m probably not doing any of those things! LOL!! My formula is easier to follow: 1. Drink more large cosmos 2. Stay up late watching addictive streaming series, 3. Stay in bed in the morning playing Sudoku instead of reading a good book. 4. Spend more time (safely) with people you love. In a pandemic, I do what I can! ❤️❤️❤️”
Garten went viral in 2020 after sharing a recipe for her favorite giant cocktail and captioning the <a href="https://www.instagram.com/tv/B-cJUwUpxbM/">video</a>, “It’s always cocktail hour in a crisis!”
