MSNBC hosts Rachel Maddow and Nicolle Wallace faced backlash online following President Donald Trump&#8217;s address to Congress on Tuesday night after they used an emotional moment with a young brain cancer survivor honored by the president to bash Trump.
The commentary from the far-left hosts came after Trump recognized 13-year-old Devarjaye &#8220;DJ&#8221; Daniel, who was in the gallery for the event and has always dreamed of being a police officer.
&#8220;In 2018, DJ was diagnosed with brain cancer,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;The doctors gave him five months at most to live. That was more than six years ago.&#8221;
&#8220;Since that time, DJ and his dad have been on a quest to make his dream come true and DJ has been sworn in as an honorary law enforcement officer, actually a number of times. The police love him. The police departments love him,&#8221; Trump continued. &#8220;And tonight, DJ, we are going to do you the biggest honor of them all. I am asking our new Secret Service director, Sean Curran, to officially make you an agent of the United States Secret Service.&#8221;
Maddow responded to the viral moment by calling it &#8220;disgusting.&#8221;
“For the record – and this is disgusting – the president made a spectacle out of praising a young man who’s thus far survived pediatric cancer – as if the president had something to do with that,” Maddow fumed.

Wallace used Daniel to attack Trump and said she hoped that he did not commit suicide.
“I hope he has a long life as a law enforcement officer, but I hope he never has to defend the United States Capitol against Donald Trump’s supporters and if he does, I hope he isn’t one of the six who loses his life to suicide,” Wallace said.
“And I hope he isn’t one that has to testify against the people who carried out acts of seditious conspiracy and then lived to see Donald Trump pardon those people,” she continued.

SiriusXM host Megyn Kelly ripped MSNBC host Rachel Maddow on Tuesday after the far-Left host criticized her network for firing Joy Reid this week.
Reid hosted the final episode of her failed show “The ReidOut” on Monday night where she <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/im-not-sorry-tearful-joy-reid-claims-her-anti-trump-anti-israel-screeds-were-of-god" target="_blank" rel="noopener">defended</a> her attacks on President Donald Trump and her anti-Israel screeds.
Maddow responded to Reid&#8217;s firing by saying it was “unnerving” that MSNBC canceled the primetime shows of “two non-white hosts.”
“And that feels worse than bad, no matter who replaces them,” the 51-year-old host said. “That feels indefensible, and I do not defend it.”
Kelly slammed Maddow for making herself the center of attention over Reid&#8217;s firing.
&#8220;She really is one of the most annoying people on television,&#8221; Kelly said. &#8220;She oozes sanctimony and self-righteousness, and here&#8217;s the real capper: She took her boss&#8217; faces and rubbed them in s*** last night. That&#8217;s what she did.&#8221;
Kelly called out Maddow&#8217;s bosses and asked if they had &#8220;any spines&#8221; or if they were going to just let Maddow trash the company.
&#8220;Mr. Lazarus, do you have any testosterone?&#8221; she asked. &#8220;Do you have any testicular fortitude to stand up for yourself as a professional, an executive, never mind a man, and tell this woman, &#8216;You&#8217;re fired, too. You&#8217;re fired for insubordination and for disparaging the network publicly in front of our four viewers. We&#8217;re very upset about what they must now think.&#8217; Why don&#8217;t you?&#8221;
&#8220;If one of my employees ever did this to me … I would fire them so fast,&#8221; she added. &#8220;She should be fired. They won&#8217;t fire her, because I won’t say the P word, but they are a bunch of Ps, and she&#8217;s the only one who comes close to putting numbers on the board. It&#8217;s all relative, trust me, but you know what she got away with on the air last night was absolutely disrespectful, and it was insubordinate, and it is just evidence of how she is somebody who evinces an affected or hypocritical holiness, a feeling or display of moral superiority.&#8221;

Rachel Maddow put MSNBC on blast on Monday for firing host Joy Reid, saying the decision was “very, very, very hard to take.”
It was announced on Sunday that Reid’s daily 7 p.m. show “The ReidOut” would end this month. Maddow announced that &#8220;The Rachel Maddow Show&#8221; would air only on Mondays after President Donald Trump&#8217;s first 100 days in office, but she went on to mention that some of her colleagues wouldn’t be on the air at all.

&#8220;I love everything about her. I have learned so much from her,” she said. “I have so much more to learn from her. I do not want to lose her as a colleague here at MSNBC, and personally, I think it is a bad mistake to let her walk out the door. It is not my call, and I understand that, but that&#8217;s what I think.&#8221;
Maddow said it was &#8220;unnerving&#8221; that MSNBC canceled primetime shows with &#8220;two non-white hosts.&#8221;

The TV host failed to mention that “The ReidOut” time slot is being replaced by current weekend hosts Symone Sanders-Townsend, Michael Steele, and Alicia Menendez. Two of these hosts are black, and one is Latina. 
Reid <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/im-not-sorry-tearful-joy-reid-claims-her-anti-trump-anti-israel-screeds-were-of-god">reacted</a> to the news during a podcast interview on Sunday, saying she was “not sorry” for some of the more controversial statements she’s made on the show, including statements on Black Lives Matter, immigration, Gaza, and criticism about President Trump. 
“And where I come down on that is, I’m not sorry. I am not sorry that I stood up for those things because those things are of God,” Reid said.

Minnesota Democrat governor and failed vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz got positively wild-eyed talking about President Donald Trump’s plans to freeze federal funds, in the process repeating the Left’s insistence that Elon Musk— whom Walz sarcastically called President Musk — gave a Nazi salute at Trump’s inaugural.
“Republicans always want to talk about cutting government, Walz told MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow on Tuesday. “That’s in theoretically. They never want to be specific because we know that these programs are incredibly popular.”
“I would say Rachel, that it was cruel; they planned it,” Walz moaned. “Yes, it was somewhat buffoonish but I’m not quite certain that we’re reading that right. I think this is a case of that this is a trial balloon to see how much tolerance we had. &#8230; It’s like you caught someone and they stole everything out of your house and you caught ‘em and you told ‘em to put it back and when you start lookin’ some of it’s still gone.”
He attacked GOP governors, declaring, “They’re never gonna bring this the legal way because no Republican will vote for this. And the deafening silence of Republican governors, these are my colleagues, some of ‘em are my friends, but shame on you.”
“They want to destroy the federal government,” Walz insisted. “This buyout of employees, because now they’ve threatened them.”
“The resistance is strong, you’ve felt it,” Walz declared, getting wild-eyed. “Americans, lo and behold, like democracy and feeding their children.”
“You know that overused term, ‘The frog in the boiling water?’ We&#8217;ve been in the damn pot way too long,” Walz said. “I think it’s speaking up. It&#8217;s thinking about your neighbors. It&#8217;s writing and putting those members of Congress – look, there is no spine amongst those folks – but this is real.”
Walz mocked Republicans for resisting Democrats calls over the years to defund the police: “They’re talking about defunding the police, things that they’ve puffed their chests up and say they’re good with, making their case.”
“To the voters, I&#8217;m with this too. Everybody&#8217;s fatigued. Trust me, I get it,” Walz complained. “It was pure hell, and the disappointment and the frustration, and I&#8217;m, you know, soul-searching – what could we have done to make the case? Because we knew this was coming. We knew the implication. And they&#8217;re throwing so much at us that we&#8217;re fatigued.”
He then attacked Musk, saying, “We spent three days debating, having them try to debate if President Musk gave a Nazi salute. Of course, he did.”

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/msnbc">MSNBC</a> host <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/rachel-maddow">Rachel Maddow</a> gave some post-<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/2024-election">election</a> analysis which indicated that she believes Americans have rejected democracy because they did not select her preferred presidential candidate.
“If this was an election that was not just a choice between two candidates, but a choice between keeping the American system of government or trading it in for a strong man authoritarian system instead, then the decisive result of this election gives us, not just an answer to the question as to what Americans want to do along those lines, it also gives us a really big to-do list as Americans,” she <a href="https://www.mediaite.com/news/rachel-maddows-post-trump-pep-talk-starts-with-our-fellow-americans-dont-want-multi-racial-pluralistic-democracy/">said</a>.
Maddow continued, “We now are just another one in the list of countries that has decided to, you know — ‘Hey, what the heck? Let’s try the strong man thing. Let’s let democracy go. Let’s put in an all-powerful guy instead. See how it goes.’” 
She went on to say other countries govern this way, and now America will too.
Maddow recommended that liberals – who she refers to as the half of the country who “want to keep our democracy” – should be “scrappy as hell” and function as a “thorn in the side to anyone who intends to turn this country into some tin pot tyranny.”
“The U.S. military needs to give the American people binding assurances that they will not deploy U.S. military force against the civilian population in this country. They can give those assurances, and now they should,” Maddow added. “The free press needs to give the people of this country assurances that they will not become state TV. That they will stand and fight together. They will put aside rivalries and petty professional differences.”

“Hope you are feeling scrappy,” Maddow told her audience. “Hope you are tapping into your inner pirate energy, because it is one thing to be a defender of the realm. It is another thing to be in opposition. And opposition can be a lot of things. It can be dangerous, but can also be fun. Would have been nice to win the election. Didn’t? Okay? Time to save the country,&#8221; she concluded.

MSNBC anchor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/rachel-maddow">Rachel Maddow</a> sang President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden">Joe Biden</a>’s praises for taking himself out of the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/2024-election">2024 race</a> after facing pressure from donors and Democratic Party members.
The political commentator acknowledged that she didn’t think the Democrats could win if Biden stayed on the ticket.
“What a man!” Maddow said shortly after Biden announced his decision to withdraw on Sunday. “What a patriot! What an act of selfless devotion to your country.”
The MSNBC host went on to gush about Biden&#8217;s accomplishments as president. She also said his stepping down was an act of &#8220;service and sacrifice to this country&#8221; because it gave someone else the chance to beat Republican nominee Donald Trump in November.

“Him making this decision today is to give the country a chance,” Maddow continued. “A reasonable chance at not putting Donald Trump back in the White House. Not putting a president back in the White House who refused to leave the last time and summoned an angry mob to try to overthrow the government rather than go. This is Joe Biden saying, ‘Apparently it’s not me, the one that gives us the best chance to do that. It’s got to be somebody else. And so I will step aside.&#8217;”
The commentator went on to explain that she believed keeping Biden would have given Democrats no shot of winning, especially considering his disastrous debate performance.
“The Democratic Party was in really bad shape with the concerns about the enfeebled public appearance of the president,” Maddow said. 
“And that debate, shook people not only because it was one bad performance, but because it underscored, reified, and validated some niggling concerns that people had had about the president’s age, and his health and his capacity. And it absolutely split the Democratic Party into a million different pieces. And with that status of the Democratic Party heading into November, I think that alone would have meant that the Democrats had essentially zero chance.”
Shortly after Biden announced he had dropped out of the race, he endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the new Democratic nominee. But former President Barack Obama notably did not endorse Harris, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/obama-does-not-endorse-kamala-harris-for-president-we-will-be-navigating-uncharted-waters?itm_source=parsely-api">saying</a> that the party “will be navigating uncharted waters in the days ahead.”

“So you said recently that you thought you, as an outspoken critic, could be a target yourself,” Behar prompted Maddow. “Some people think that sounds overdramatic, but I’m right there with you.”
“I think that he is so vindictive that he will go after [us], however he has to, through the IRS maybe, or even through sponsors, to get us off the air maybe, or you.”
Behar asked Maddow to elaborate on her previous comments — she had told CNN last week that she believed Trump planned to build camps and put people in them.

She went on to tell Behar that she was worried for herself, but no more than she worried about anyone else who might be critical of Trump.
“I think it’s bad,” Maddow continued, claiming that Trump had “asked” for as much power as possible and had promised to use it against Americans once he had it.
Maddow also claimed during her appearance that Trump was not actually running against incumbent President Joe Biden, but rather, he was “running against democracy.”

Maddow kicked off the exchange by recalling a previous statement from Carroll, in which she had promised to do something with &#8220;Trump&#8217;s money&#8221; to benefit women&#8217;s rights — and then she asked Carroll if she had any firm plans with that regard and to describe what that might look like.

British commentator Piers Morgan ripped CNN, MSNBC, and Rachel Maddow for not showing former President Trump’s victory speech after he won the Iowa caucuses.
CNN showed a part of Trump’s speech before cutting away as host Jake Tapper remarked, “Here he is now, under my voice, you hear him repeating his anti-immigrant rhetoric &#8230;” while Maddow claimed they had would not show the speech because Trump would be saying “untrue” things.
“There is a cost to us as a news organization of knowingly broadcasting untrue things. That is a fundamental truth of our business and who we are. And so his remarks tonight will not air here live &#8230;” Maddow had stated.
“I&#8217;m sorry, Rachel Maddow banging on about disinformation and how damaging it would be to MSNBC, didn&#8217;t she lead the charge on Russian collusion for two years? Right?” Morgan snapped as he <a href="https://news.grabien.com/story-piers-morgan-slams-msm-for-censoring-trump-what-about-your-own-backyar" target="_blank" rel="noopener">appeared</a> on Fox News’ “One Nation” with host Brian Kilmeade.
“I watched that night after night,” Morgan continued. “I would tune in, not for very long, and hear, ‘Russia collusion, Russia collusion’ on MSNBC, my former bosses at CNN. And It turned out to be complete nonsense, a massive nothing burger.”
“No apology, no acknowledgment,” Kilmeade interjected.
“Nothing,” Morgan agreed. “But now they have the brass neck to say, ‘We can&#8217;t possibly show Trump&#8217;s victory speech because he might spew disinformation.’ Well, what about your own backyard?”
Kilmeade pointed out that foreign leaders were also targeting Trump, with the former head of Great Britain’s MI6, Sir Richard Dearlove, saying, “For the UK’s national security, is problematic,” and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau declaring, “If there is a second time, it won’t be easy either.”
“If you take Trudeau, for example, he banged on about Trump being a fascist, when he is the number one woke fascist in the world. The most woke human being alive,” Morgan commented.
“He destroyed that country,” Kilmeade echoed.
“I saw a poll last week that said more young Canadians would vote Trump than vote Trudeau,” Morgan laughed. “They would if they could.”
