The funny thing about the new “Masters of the Universe” movie is that nearly everyone seemed determined to misunderstand it before it premiered.
The trailer features a <a href="https://ew.com/he-man-pronouns-in-masters-of-the-universe-trailer-spark-conservative-outrage-11891874">shot</a> of the main character, Adam, at his desk behind a nameplate that says “He/Him.” Of course half the internet panicked while the other half preened, and almost everyone walked straight into the bit. Conservatives saw the clip and assumed another childhood franchise had been stuffed into a DEI binder. Leftists were happy to claim another cultural trophy. Both missed the joke.
Apart from being a nostalgia filled blast, the new “He-Man” movie works because it understands something Hollywood usually treats like a thought crime: Evil is not defeated by a group therapy session. The movie isn’t an endorsement of that worldview, but a mockery of it.
The live-action “Masters of the Universe,” released theatrically June 5, stars Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam/He-Man, Jared Leto as Skeletor, and Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-At-Arms. Amazon’s own description frames the story around Adam saving “his family and his world” from Skeletor’s rule. That matters because the film’s central jest is not just cultural; it’s moral.
Beneath the explosive, nostalgia-fueled spectacle, “Masters of the Universe” is a thinly veiled satire of the modern corporate grievance complex. It pokes fun at HR culture, it mocks the blue hair brigade, and it skewers the childish postmodern fantasy that every conflict is just a misunderstanding waiting to be resolved by therapy speak.
Skeletor is not waiting for someone to validate his trauma and invite him into a restorative justice circle. He does not care about your shared emotional space. Skeletor is a genocidal maniac.
This is the key to the whole movie. Its moral universe is not complicated in the lazy, modern way so many blockbusters now pretend to be complicated. It makes clear that evil exists, evil chooses evil, and evil sometimes loves being evil. And when evil refuses to stop, refuses to negotiate, and keeps coming for your home and your family, the moral response is not weakness dressed up as compassion. The moral response is courage.
This is where the film becomes more than a joke at the expense of corporate wokeness. It becomes the defense of something older, deeper, and much more important: strength ordered toward the protection of the innocent.
Elba’s Man-At-Arms drives this point home as he trains a young Adam. The lesson is not that masculinity means cruelty, nor that a man should go looking for violence. The lesson is that a man has a duty to stand between danger and the people he loves.
That is what He-Man represents. He fights because there are things worth defending. He protects because protection is one of the foundational duties of manhood. And that, more than anything, is what makes the movie feel almost radical in the current cultural moment.
For years, audiences have been told that traditional heroism is suspect. Fathers are fools, warriors are dangerous, courage is primitive, protection is patronizing, moral clarity is simplistic. Every villain needs a grievance dissertation, and every hero needs to learn that the real battle was inside himself all along. “Masters of the Universe” does not play that game.
But the movie is not merely a rebuke to the woke Left. It’s also a rebuke to the woke Right, or the New Right, whatever we’re calling them now. I mean the perpetually online, performative “Right” that mistakes reflexive isolationism for wisdom, “swagger” for strength, and cynicism for seriousness.
The Left’s error is obvious: It thinks evil can be managed by language, empathy, and institutions that specialize in avoiding reality. But the woke Right has developed its own mirror-image error. It sees real evil abroad, in Iran or in the imperial ambitions of Russia&#8217;s Vladimir Putin, and responds with a shrug masquerading as prudence. It looks at tyrants who have already told the world what they want and insists that the truly sophisticated move is to pretend they don’t mean it. That is not prudence. Prudence begins by seeing reality as it is.
Iran is not a misunderstood actor seeking emotional validation from the international community. Nor is Putin’s war against Ukraine an unfortunate misunderstanding caused by insufficient empathy. Iran is the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism, and the Ukrainian conflict is an imperial war waged by a man who wants territory, control, and submission.
This is what evil looks like in practice. It doesn’t always announce itself with a skull for a face and a horned staff. Sometimes it arrives in a suit, gives speeches about historical destiny, bombs apartment buildings, demands territory, and calls the whole thing peace.
But whether in Eternia or the real world, the moral principle is the same: When a regime has built its identity around revolutionary domination, terrorism, and the pursuit of weapons that would alter the balance of civilization, you don’t defeat that regime by pretending that your refusal to act is a moral strategy.
And here the woke Right makes the same mistake as the woke Left, with different branding. The woke Left says, “Surely we can defeat evil with empathy and feelings.” The woke Right says, “Surely evil will stop if we simply declare it none of our business.” Both positions are fantasies, and they both allow evil to continue while the people who should know better congratulate themselves for being &#8220;above the fight.&#8221;
That doesn’t mean America should rush blindly into every conflict. It doesn’t mean every foreign crisis requires American troops. And it doesn’t mean every enemy is best answered with bombs. Prudence, strategy, cost, and national interest all matter.
A strong country, like a strong man, does not fight because it enjoys fighting. It fights when fighting is necessary. It arms allies when allies are standing between civilization and conquest. It deters enemies before deterrence becomes war. It understands that weakness invites aggression and that the time for talking eventually ends when the other side uses every negotiation as a pause between attacks.
In this way, He-Man’s line lands heavy during his final battle with Skeletor: “The time for talking is over.”
This is not a rejection of reason. It’s the recognition that reason has already been rejected by the other side. It’s the realization that mercy cannot mean surrender to tyranny. And that seriousness is exactly what so much of the online commentary missed.
“Masters” also offers a clean break from the fake masculinity peddled by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/andrew-tate">Andrew Tate</a> and his imitators. Tate-style masculinity is not strength. It sells young men the idea that being a man means becoming unaccountable and unburdened by anyone else’s needs.
It’s also not a coincidence that Tate was recently glazing Russia and Putin. Fake masculinity is often drawn to fake strength. It sees a strongman and mistakes him for a strong man.
He-Man understands that his strength is not ordered toward conquest. It’s ordered toward protection. His masculinity is not chest-thumping or cruelty. It’s duty. It is love strong enough to become dangerous when the people he loves are threatened. That is the part Hollywood keeps missing. And it is the part the online woke Right too often misses as well.
A man who refuses to protect his family is not enlightened. A country that refuses to recognize evil until it arrives at the doorstep is not wise. It’s asleep.
The appeal of “Masters” and of He-Man is not complicated. Audiences are tired of heroes who need to be deconstructed before they are allowed to be heroic. Sometimes the good guy should simply be good. Sometimes the bad guy should simply be stopped. Sometimes the lesson really is that a man protects his family, defends his home, and refuses to let evil win.
He-Man wins because he understands the truth our culture keeps trying to forget: When evil will not stop, good men must make it stop.

Historically, Russia was very, very good at what we call psyops, psychological operations designed to undermine the United States.
They are still good at it. The Op is happening. It&#8217;s live, right in front of us. Candace Owens, Andrew Tate, and other Woke Right influencers have now landed in Moscow, and they&#8217;re basically Jane Fonda on the Vietcong anti-aircraft guns during the Vietnam War.
They propagandize for our enemies.
If you somehow believe that these people are just good-hearted folks who are invested in Christianity and the West and traditional conservative values, I hate to break it to you, but you are the sucker. If your head is attached to your shoulders, the Op has never been more obvious.
The dictator who currently runs Russia is Vladimir Putin. He was a member of the KGB. His task: Intelligence and counter-intelligence. He worked under a man named Yuri Andropov, who was then leading the KGB. Later, Andropov became the Premier of the Soviet Union, the dictator of the Soviet Union.

And here&#8217;s what Andropov said about psyops directed at Soviet enemies: “Disinformation is like cocaine. Sniff once or twice. It may not change your life if you use it every day, though it will make you an addict, a different man.”
It seems like a lot of people in the West are now all coked up.
Candace Owens is in Russia sitting on Russian propaganda panels. She&#8217;s praising what she describes as Russia&#8217;s approach to families.
Spoiler alert: Russia&#8217;s idea of family values is encouraging couples to have kids so there is an ample supply of soldiers to fight in the Ukraine war.
Meanwhile, Marjorie Taylor Greene is doing the same sort of stuff, signaling her support for Candace&#8217;s big Russian adventure. And Buckley Carlson (a.k.a. Tucker Carlson, minus the skincare regimen) is openly saying that Russia&#8217;s leader looks out for his people&#8217;s interests, and he wishes we had that here. Tucker, of course, says exactly the same thing.
None of them are simply making critiques of America. They&#8217;re all saying that Russia is somehow better, that Russia&#8217;s leadership is somehow better.
And that&#8217;s the tell: There&#8217;s a big difference between saying “countries act in their own national interest” or “America has problems,” and “I wish our country were run more like Vladimir Putin&#8217;s Russia.” Those are not the same arguments.
One of those is rooted in realism. The other is just crazed fan-fiction conspiracy nonsense.
That is what this has become: Geopolitical fan fiction for people who think America sucks so much that countries like Russia not only ought to be a model for us, but ought to have more global power.
This is all part of what I have called a demoralization op.
Demoralization is the effort to destroy basic moral principles and dogmas and replace them with divisive fringe ideologies. It is step one in collapsing your enemies.
That is what is happening here. Enemies of America are using every resource at their disposal to do it — and there is good news for them: There’s an entire online repository of complete dunderheaded morons and conspiratorial America haters to do their dirty work for them, and lots of people online to click into the echo chamber.
The exact same people who built their brands around “Don&#8217;t trust the regime” and “Don&#8217;t trust the media” and “Don&#8217;t trust the propaganda” are suddenly very much in favor of trusting a regime, (when it&#8217;s Russia), the media, (when it&#8217;s Russia Today) and the propaganda, (when they are controlled by the Russian government and tell them America is decadent and the West is collapsing and Putin is strong and Russia protects tradition).
Suddenly, these people are on board all the way. They&#8217;re not investigating or questioning.
This is not skepticism. This is credulity. This is absolute, credulous stupidity. And they are nodding along either because they are bought and paid for, or because the message actually flatters their priors, and their priors are obvious: America sucks. America is in decline. America, in fact, is evil.
These are the ideas they parrot: We took the wrong side during World War II. We were vicious during the Cold War. We were the bad guys in the modern era. We were the great despoilers of innocent Muslims in the Middle East.
In the end, the result is all the same. The only way to fix all of this is to unburden the brutalized, demonized American soul, and give more power to America&#8217;s enemies.
We need — wait for it — multi-polarity. That&#8217;s how the Op works. The goal is to convince you that America is irredeemably crappy morally, and that the people we&#8217;ve always seen as our geopolitical opponents are actually not that bad. Russia is not that bad. In many ways they&#8217;re better than we are. Iran is not that bad. They don&#8217;t bother us. Maybe they could be our friend. China is not that bad.
That&#8217;s the Op, and it&#8217;s working on a large number of people who spend too much time online watching Tucker Carlson or Candace Owens or Sean Ryan or Andrew Tate or Megyn Kelly or any of the increasingly anti-American grifters and clickwhores willing to crap on America, either because they believe it, or for fame and money.

India has promised to stop buying Russian oil, President Donald Trump said on Wednesday.
Trump made the announcement to reporters in the Oval Office. The promise made by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a key victory for Trump in his efforts to end the war in Ukraine.
“I was not happy that India was buying oil, and he assured me today that they will not be buying oil from Russia. That&#8217;s a big step. Now we&#8217;re going to get China to do the same thing,” Trump <a href="https://x.com/clashreport/status/1978554147323384129">told</a> reporters.

In recent months, Trump has shifted from pressuring Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to negotiate to applying pressure more directly to Putin. The U.S. President has worked through diplomacy, sanctions, and strengthening Ukraine’s military position to increase pressure on Moscow to seek an end to the roughly three-and-a-half year war.
&#8220;He&#8217;s assured me that there will be no oil purchased from Russia, maybe that&#8217;s a breaking story, can I say that? Would you say?&#8221; Trump asked. &#8220;There will be no oil, he&#8217;s not buying his oil from Russia — it&#8217;s started.&#8221;
“You know, he can&#8217;t do it immediately. It&#8217;s a little bit of a process, but the process is going to be over soon. All we want from President [Vladimir] Putin is to stop this, stop killing Ukrainians and stop killing Russians,” <a href="https://x.com/ANI/status/1978564154068701562">said</a> Trump.
“Who would think I created peace in the Middle East and can’t get the two guys to settle?” he added. “But I think we&#8217;ll get them. If India doesn&#8217;t buy oil, it makes it much easier. And they assured me, within a short period of time, they will not be buying oil from Russia. And they&#8217;ll go back to Russia after the war is over.”
Once confirmed, Modi’s decision to cut off India’s purchase of Russian oil, at least for the duration of the war, would be a major stroke for Trump and a meaningful improvement in U.S.-India relations. In August, Trump slapped 50% tariffs on India. Half of the tariff sought to punish India for purchases it made from Russia.
At the time, New Delhi gave no signal that it would cut off purchasing oil from Russia, other than to say that it would continue to <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c5ykznn158qo">look</a> for the “best deal.”
Trump is scheduled to meet with Zelensky at the White House on Friday. The visit will be Zelensky’s third to the White House since Trump began his second term. The meeting is expected to cover the potential provision of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, as well as air defense to protect from Russian drones and missiles.

The United States will help Ukraine locate key Russian energy infrastructure as the Trump administration weighs sending Ukraine weapons capable of reaching those targets.
President Donald Trump has approved intelligence sharing by the War Department and American intelligence agencies with Ukraine. The president is weighing taking U.S. assistance a step further, providing Ukraine with Tomahawk and Barracuda cruise missiles as well as other long-range weaponry, according to <a href="https://www.wsj.com/world/u-s-to-provide-ukraine-with-intelligence-for-missile-strikes-deep-inside-russia-ca7b2276">The Wall Street Journal</a>.
The move marks a first in U.S. policy toward Ukraine. The United States has never before aided Ukraine in targeting energy infrastructure deep inside Russia’s territory. The intelligence and potential long-range weapons could be used to strike refineries, pipelines, and other key structures aimed at crippling Moscow’s main source of income: oil and gas production.
The administration is pushing allies to step up aid to Ukraine, as well, requesting North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) countries provide similar support as the Trump administration seeks to increase pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin to negotiate an end to the war.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently met with Trump in New York and requested that the United States supply Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles. Zelensky also said that Ukraine had Trump’s backing to target Russian energy infrastructure in retaliation for strikes on its own.
“If they attack our energy, President Trump support that we can answer on energy,” Zelensky <a href="https://www.axios.com/2025/09/26/zelensky-ask-trump-tomahawk-missile-strike-russia">said</a> last week.
Trump last week announced a fresh perspective from the administration on the war. In a lengthy <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115255130298104593">post</a> on Truth Social, the president said that he now believes that with the proper assistance, Ukraine can “fight and WIN all of Ukraine back in its original form.”
“With time, patience, and the financial support of Europe and, in particular, NATO, the original Borders from where this War started, is very much an option,” the president wrote. “Why not? Russia has been fighting aimlessly for three and a half years a War that should have taken a Real Military Power less than a week to win.&#8221;
“This is not distinguishing Russia. In fact, it is very much making them look like ‘a paper tiger,’” he said.
Trump has reached out to Putin several times to compel negotiations to end the war with Ukraine. As Moscow has continued to stonewall or slowwalk talks, Trump has grown increasingly frustrated. In July, the president, during a cabinet meeting, <a href="https://www.axios.com/2025/07/08/trump-putin-bullshit-sanctions-ukraine">described</a> dealing with Putin in stark terms: “We get a lot of bulls*** thrown at us by Putin, if you want to know the truth. He&#8217;s very nice all the time, but it turns out to be meaningless.”
After a tense meeting with Zelensky at the White House in February, Washington’s relationship with Kyiv has steadily improved as Zelensky has agreed to many of the White House’s requests in its pursuit of a peace deal between Kyiv and Moscow.

President Donald Trump said on Friday, before meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, that he would discuss potential land swaps between Russia and Ukraine, but that the ultimate decision on agreeing to such a deal rests on Ukraine.
While en route to Alaska for the summit, Trump told reporters on Air Force One that he&#8217;s not negotiating for Kyiv, adding that Ukraine must make its own decision on swapping territory with Russia.
&#8220;I&#8217;ve gotta let Ukraine make that decision, but I think they&#8217;ll make a proper decision,&#8221; Trump <a href="https://x.com/RapidResponse47/status/1956394431294111787">said</a>. &#8220;I&#8217;m not here to negotiate for Ukraine. I&#8217;m here to get them to the table.&#8221;
&#8220;Look, Vladimir Putin wanted to take all of Ukraine,&#8221; he added. &#8220;If I wasn&#8217;t president, he would right now be taking all of Ukraine, but he&#8217;s not going to do it.&#8221;
The president is scheduled to sit down with Putin at 3:00 p.m. ET as Trump seeks to guide Russia and Ukraine toward a ceasefire agreement. Trump told reporters that he&#8217;s hoping a ceasefire will be agreed upon &#8220;rapidly,&#8221; adding, &#8220;I don&#8217;t know if it&#8217;s going to be today, but I&#8217;m not going to be happy if it&#8217;s not today.&#8221;
&#8220;Everyone said it can&#8217;t be today, but I&#8217;m just saying I want the killing to stop. I&#8217;m in this to stop the killing,&#8221; the president said.

Potential land swaps between Russia and Ukraine were suggested by Trump last week. Russian forces have largely taken control of Ukraine&#8217;s eastern region while Ukrainian forces continue to fight back. Putin reportedly told Trump envoy Steve Witkoff last week that he would end the war against Ukraine in exchange for the region in eastern Ukraine known as the Donbas.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who is excluded from the Trump-Putin summit, suggested last weekend that he&#8217;s opposed to a land swap deal with Russia.

“Ukrainians will not gift their land to the occupier,” Zelensky said, adding, “Any decisions made against us, any decisions made without Ukraine, are at the same time decisions against peace. They will bring nothing. These are dead decisions; they will never work.”
Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-blasts-zelensky-for-showing-resistance-to-potential-land-swap-with-russia">criticized</a> Zelensky over his comments, saying that he disagrees “very, very severely&#8221; and “was a little bothered” by Zelensky&#8217;s pushback. Trump believes that a land swap would benefit both Ukraine and Russia. The Kremlin expects the Trump-Putin talks to last between six and seven hours on Friday, adding that the Russian side &#8220;expects&#8221; the meeting to &#8220;end productively.&#8221;
If the talks are productive, Trump and Putin are expected to conclude the summit with a joint press conference, but Trump <a href="https://x.com/RapidResponse47/status/1956393685416866101">said</a> that he would &#8220;head back home real fast&#8221; if the meeting doesn&#8217;t go well.

Trump Says Final Decision For Land Swaps Rests On Kyiv: ‘I’m Not Here To Negotiate For Ukraine’

Vice President JD Vance made “significant progress” in meetings with European officials ahead of President Donald Trump’s upcoming meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to a source familiar with the matter, at the request of the United States, Vance met with United Kingdom Foreign Secretary David Lammy and other officials to discuss the war in Ukraine ahead of Trump’s Friday meeting in Alaska.
“Saturday’s hours-long meetings produced significant progress toward President Trump’s goal of bringing an end to the war in Ukraine, ahead of President Trump and President Putin’s upcoming meeting in Alaska,” a United States official told The Daily Wire.
On Friday, Vance met with Lammy at Chevening House in Kent, England, and on Saturday met with Lammy and others to discuss the war in Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East, and economic and technology goals.
The meetings come as Trump makes another effort to bring the over 3-year-long war in Ukraine to an end.
Last week, Trump said that there will “be some swapping of territories, to the betterment” of both Russia and Ukraine. Russia currently occupies about a fifth of Ukrainian territory.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called for more sanctions and pressure to be exerted on Russia <a href="https://x.com/ZelenskyyUa/status/1954609405863071994" target="_blank" rel="noopener">in a video posted</a> to X on Sunday.
“Everyone sees that there has been no real step from Russia toward peace, no action on the ground or in the air that could save lives,” he said. “That is why sanctions are needed, pressure is needed. Strength is needed — of the United States, of Europe, of all nations in the world that want peace and stability in international relations. If Russia does not want to stop the war, then its economy must be stopped.”
Zelenskyy has pushed to join the meeting, though he has not been formally invited.
Vance said on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures” that the United States is working on setting up a meeting that includes Zelenskyy, but does not believe it should happen until after Trump meets with Putin.
“One of the most important logjams is that Vladimir Putin said that he would never sit down with Zelenskyy, the head of Ukraine, and the president has now got that to change,” Vance said.
Zelenskyy has not met with Putin since the war began.
On Saturday, the Russian government issued a <a href="http://en.kremlin.ru/events/president/news/77745" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a> praising the location of the meeting.
“Russia and the United States are close neighbours, they share borders. So it does make sense if our delegation simply crosses the Bering Strait and if such an important and expected meeting between the two leaders takes place specifically in Alaska,” the statement reads. “However, the presidents will undoubtedly focus on discussing ways to reach a sustainable settlement to the Ukraine crisis.”
The statement added that the next meeting should take place in Russia.
“An invitation to that effect has already been made to the President of the United States,” the statement adds.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Saturday that his latest conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump this week was the best and &#8220;most productive&#8221; he has had to date.
&#8220;Regarding the conversation with the president of the United States, which took place a day earlier, it was probably the best conversation we have had during this whole time, the most productive,&#8221; Zelensky said in his nightly video address.
&#8220;We discussed air defense issues and I&#8217;m grateful for the willingness to help. The Patriot system is precisely the key to protection against ballistic threats.&#8221;
Zelensky said the two leaders had discussed &#8220;several other important matters&#8221; that officials from the two sides would be considering in forthcoming meetings.
Trump told reporters on Friday that he had a good call with Zelensky and restated his disappointment at a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin over what he said was Moscow&#8217;s lack of willingness to work toward a ceasefire.
Asked whether the United States would agree to supply more Patriot missiles to Ukraine, as requested by Zelensky, Trump said: &#8220;They&#8217;re going to need them for defense&#8230; They&#8217;re going to need something because they&#8217;re being hit pretty hard.&#8221;
Russia has intensified air attacks on Kyiv and other cities in recent weeks. Moscow&#8217;s forces launched the largest drone attack of the 40-month-old war on the Ukrainian capital hours after Trump&#8217;s conversation with Putin on Thursday.

On Sunday, Putin first proposed direct talks with Ukraine to bring the three-year war to a close during a televised address.
“We are proposing that Kyiv resume direct negotiations without any preconditions,&#8221; Putin said. &#8220;We offer the Kyiv authorities to resume negotiations already on Thursday, in Istanbul.&#8221;

Instead, Russia sent aides to negotiate with the Ukrainian leader, who described them as “stand-in props,” <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/live/c74nxrr7mwkt" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported the BBC</a>.
In response, Russia’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said “A clown and a loser is talking about respected people.”

So far, Zelensky has met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara.

President Donald Trump claimed on Wednesday that Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky is a &#8220;dictator&#8221; who does not want to end the war against Russia because he &#8220;wants to keep the &#8216;gravy train&#8217; going.&#8221;
Trump made the remarks after slamming Ukraine during a Tuesday press conference at Mar-a-Lago in response to Zelensky expressing frustrations over being excluded from talks that were held between the United States and Russia in Saudi Arabia.
&#8220;Think of it, a modestly successful comedian, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, talked the United States of America into spending $350 Billion Dollars, to go into a War that couldn’t be won, that never had to start, but a War that he, without the U.S. and &#8216;TRUMP,&#8217; will never be able to settle,&#8221; Trump posted on social media.
&#8220;The United States has spent $200 Billion Dollars more than Europe, and Europe’s money is guaranteed, while the United States will get nothing back,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;Why didn’t Sleepy Joe Biden demand Equalization, in that this War is far more important to Europe than it is to us — We have a big, beautiful Ocean as separation.&#8221;
Trump also claimed that Zelensky has a low approval rating.
&#8220;He refuses to have Elections, is very low in Ukrainian Polls, and the only thing he was good at was playing Biden &#8216;like a fiddle,'&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;A Dictator without Elections, Zelenskyy better move fast or he is not going to have a Country left.&#8221;
Zelensky <a href="https://apnews.com/article/26e344daaf68479b8aea88653985e54d">won</a> 73% of the vote in Ukraine&#8217;s 2019 election against incumbent Petro Poroshenko. The next election was set to take place in 2024 but has been delayed indefinitely since the country is in a state of martial law — in which some democratic processes, including elections, are temporarily suspended — due to Russia&#8217;s invasion in 2022.
The New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/02/18/us-news/trump-calls-for-ukraine-to-hold-elections-to-potentially-replace-zelensky/">noted</a> this week that Zelensky&#8217;s approval rating currently sits just a little over 50%.
&#8220;In the meantime, we are successfully negotiating an end to the War with Russia, something all admit only &#8216;TRUMP,&#8217; and the Trump Administration, can do,&#8221; he added. &#8220;Biden never tried, Europe has failed to bring Peace, and Zelenskyy probably wants to keep the &#8216;gravy train&#8217; going. The remarks from Trump on social media come after he criticized Ukraine for complaining about not being given a seat at the table during talks this week between the U.S. and Russia in Saudi Arabia.
“I hear they’re upset about not having a seat. Well, they’ve had a seat for three years,” Trump said. “And a long time before that. This could have been settled very easily. A half-baked negotiator could have settled this years ago.”
Trump said that Ukraine &#8220;should’ve never started&#8221; the war, adding that they &#8220;could’ve made a deal.&#8221;
&#8220;I could’ve made a deal for Ukraine that would have given them almost all of the land, everything, almost all of the land, and no people would have been killed, and no city would have been demolished, and not one dome would have been knocked down,&#8221; he said. &#8220;But they chose not to do it that way.”

Saturday was supposed to be a turning point for Malphine Fogel’s mission to free her son from a Russian prison.
The 95-year-old was set to take the stage with former President Donald Trump at the latter’s rally in Butler County, Pennsylvania. Prior to the event, Fogel spoke with Trump about her son, Marc, who is three years into a 14-year prison sentence he received for possessing medical marijuana, for which he had a prescription from an American doctor.
Vicki Iseman, a spokeswoman for <a href="https://www.freemarcfogel.net/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Free Marc Fogel</a>, was with Malphine at the event.
“We were dancing and we were swaying,” Iseman recalled. “It was a real moment of joy in a woman&#8217;s life who does not have any moments of joy.”
Less than a half hour later, Fogel and Iseman watched from the VIP section as shots were fired at Trump who was about 25 feet away.

“[Trump] was pointing off the stage and looking at a screen and we were looking at the screen as well and then for some reason, I looked back at the president as he was talking about that, and I heard the crack, crack, crack, crack,” Iseman told the Daily Wire. “Then when he grabbed the side of his face, I saw him duck his head down.”
Feeling like the world was moving in slow motion, Iseman heard former Trump-endorsed Pennsylvania Senate candidate Sean Parnell, a veteran Army Ranger, take charge of the situation.
“I just started yelling and telling people they need to get down,” Parnell told The Daily Wire, adding that he knew instantly what the loud sounds were. “I’ve been in many gunfights but never one with my wife and a 95-year-old woman right next to me.”
Iseman said once she saw blood, she realized she needed to help Fogel, who has a disabled leg and could not get down on her own.
“I was looking down at Mrs. Fogel and Christine, and all I remember thinking was about her daughters … who’ve basically lost a brother for three years and I had their mother and I remember thinking, they won&#8217;t survive if their mother doesn&#8217;t survive,” Iseman said.
Along with Pennsylvania Senate candidate Dave McCormick and Republican Reps. Mike Kelly and Dan Meuser, Parnell helped get Fogel on the ground, Iseman said.
Fogel, a Butler County native, has fought for her son’s freedom since his 2022 detention. According to Iseman, the Fogel family has largely been ignored by the Biden administration, despite President Joe Biden strongly advocating for the release of basketball player Brittney Griner, who was also detained in Russia for marijuana possession.
Malphine Fogel had not heard from Marc for three weeks prior to Saturday’s rally. But that morning, Marc called his mother. Iseman recorded a message from Marc, which she hoped to play for Trump.
“I am just in urgent need of being with my family and I’m in urgent need of somebody that has the bravery and power to get something done,” Marc said in the recording, in which he also thanked Trump for taking the time to “hear my mother’s thoughts and prayers.”

“She took his arm and she said, ‘I am the mother of Marc Fogel,’” Iseman recalled. “And she had two things she wanted to ask him: to have his commitment to have her son designated as wrongfully detained and to bring him out.”
Fogel has long advocated for her son to receive the status of “wrongfully detained,” which would empower the U.S. government to use financial support to assist Marc with medical and other needs.
Trump told Fogel he would bring her son home if he became president, Iseman said.
“He was looking at a woman who was 95 years old who hasn&#8217;t seen her son—and if she doesn&#8217;t see him soon—she may never see him again and he knew what was in the balance there,” Iseman said, adding that Trump also promised to talk about Marc during his remarks.
But before Trump had a chance to mention the Fogels and their fight, he was grazed by a would-be assassin’s bullet. In the chaos that ensued, Iseman witnessed the VIPs seated near Fogel spring into action.
“They were the most important people there besides President Trump,” Iseman said, recalling that Kelly, Parnell, and the others refused to evacuate with their staff until Fogel was safe.
“They said they were not leaving Mrs. Fogel here,” Iseman said. “Those are heroes.”
Rep. Kelly “went over us like a blanket,” Iseman recalled, saying she still gets “chills when I think about it.”
“He would have taken a bullet.”
As the group evacuated, Kelly helped Fogel walk more than 15 minutes to a car, even though his family was in attendance at the event.

“There’s something very sweet and basic about it,” Iseman said in tears, recalling congressman&#8217;s kindness. “This isn’t ‘oh is there a camera here’ [or] I’m helping a little old woman cross the street because I am doing a campaign commercial…’ this was very raw.”
After the event, Malphine Fogel spoke to Marc, who expressed concern that his mother had to witness the assassination attempt, <a href="https://www.wtae.com/article/trump-rally-marc-fogel-detained-russia/61605002" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ABC 4</a> reports.
Marc Fogel was arrested in Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport for carrying half an ounce of marijuana that was prescribed by an American doctor to treat his chronic back pain. Fogel was returning to Russia to teach history at the Anglo-American School of Moscow, which the Russian government designated a “foreign agent” and shuttered in 2023.
The Fogel family has stepped up their push to free Marc since campaign season began, hoping a presidential candidate could use their platform to call for his release. While the family is encouraged Trump will still make a public push to help, they still have heard next to nothing from Biden. They say time is running out as Fogel’s medical condition continues to worsen in the prison.
Parnell said he feels compelled to advocate for the Fogel family, especially since the White House has failed to act.

“The Biden administration worked overtime and traded bad people to get Brittney Griner back and I am glad she is home,” he said. “She is a high-profile liberal celebrity with the same political views as Biden. What is Marc? A teacher from western Pennsylvania. What is in it for Biden?”
Parnell added that Biden has become “far too comfortable with leaving Americans behind,” referencing the messy withdrawal from Afghanistan, and the Americans taken hostage by Hamas.
“Leaving Marc behind is just par for the course for Biden,” Parnell said.
“Trump saying something on that stage would make a difference — even if he is not president — because Putin would’ve heard about it in two hours,” Parnell added. “His words have power, so it meant a hell of a lot to her.”
After three years of silence from the Biden administration, Iseman expressed that Vogel having Trump&#8217;s promise and two congressmen risking their lives to save her finally made her feel heard.

Representative <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/jerry-nadler" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jerry Nadler</a> (D-NY) sure seems carefree about World War III potentially starting over Ukraine.
On Thursday, a reporter caught up with the septuagenarian, who promptly spilled the beans that he would not care whatsoever if Ukraine invaded Russia, let alone if they did so with U.S.-supplied weapons.
&#8220;Are you concerned that they will enter into Russian territory?&#8221; The Epoch Times’ Liam Cosgrove said of Ukraine.
&#8220;I&#8217;m not concerned. I wouldn&#8217;t care if they did,&#8221; Nadler said.
After the reporter explained that Russia could view this as a U.S.-backed invasion of Russia, the congressman was dismissive and even smirked about the intensification of the war.
Nadler also refused to say if he would condemn Ukraine if they used American-made F-16s to attack Russia.

In response, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/ukraines-army-will-see-long-term-significance-f-16s-ex-ambassador-1801972#:~:text=%22We%20see%20that%20the%20Western,involves%20enormous%20risks%20for%20themselves." target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>, “We see that the Western countries are still adhering to the escalation scenario.&#8221;
Grushko intimated that the West could suffer even more consequences if that happened.

Per <a href="https://apnews.com/article/ukraine-russia-war-f16-biden-a281e3cd1474b2e6f453946075824565" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Associated Press</a>, &#8220;…with this decision, the Biden administration has made a sharp reversal, after refusing to approve any transfer of the aircraft or conduct training for more than a year due to worries that it could escalate tensions with Russia. U.S. officials also have argued against the F-16 by saying that learning to fly and logistically support such an advanced aircraft would be difficult and take months.&#8221;
What does escalation look like? Well, at the very least it means more dead Ukrainians and Russians. The death toll in the war is already in the hundreds-of-thousands. At worst, it means that NATO is dragged into the war — which means that the U.S. would be also.
You wouldn&#8217;t think that is a laughing matter for a member of Congress. Nadler is pretty nonchalant about it all — even absolving himself of any responsibility. It is a pretty serious issue that requires statesmanship, but we&#8217;re not led by serious men at this time. We are being sleepwalked by fools like Nadler into war with nuclear power.

The U.S. announced Monday that it will send <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/ukraine" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ukraine</a> an additional $350 million in ammunition, weapons, and military vehicles as Chinese President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/xi-jinping" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Xi Jinping</a> meets with Russian President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/vladimir-putin" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Vladimir Putin</a> for peace talks in Moscow this week. 
As the U.S. <a href="https://apnews.com/article/ukraine-aid-ammunition-riverine-boats-91b4aa084c7e00bd7c93ef8b857b1509" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> its latest handout to the Ukrainians to bolster their war effort against Russia, Secretary of State Antony Blinken warned that “the world should not be fooled” by Xi’s peace talks with Putin. Blinken claimed that China and Russia’s plan is to “freeze” territorial gains made by Russia since its invasion over a year ago. 
“The fundamental element of any plan for ending the war in Ukraine and producing a just and durable peace must be upholding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine,” Blinken said, <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-03-20/blinken-warns-of-a-xi-putin-peace-plan-to-freeze-russian-gains?srnd=premium">according</a> to Bloomberg. 
Xi <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/xi-hails-new-era-as-he-arrives-in-moscow-in-bid-to-broker-ukraine-peace-deal">arrived</a> in Moscow Monday on a “mission of peace” signaling that China-Russia relations are growing stronger as the West lines up in opposition to Putin’s war in Ukraine. Blinken’s comments echo statements made by another Biden administration official last week regarding China’s peace talks with Russia. 
“While that sounds perfectly reasonable and it sounds like a good thing, a ceasefire right now would basically ratify Russia’s conquest,” U.S. National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said. “Russia would basically be free to use that ceasefire to further entrench its positions in Ukraine, to rebuild their forces, refit them, re-man them, retrain them so that they can then restart attacks at a time of their choosing.”
So far, the Biden administration has sent around <a href="https://www.cfr.org/article/how-much-aid-has-us-sent-ukraine-here-are-six-charts" target="_blank" rel="noopener">$50 billion</a> in military aid to Ukraine, including 31 Abrams tanks and advanced long-range missile systems. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has pushed for the U.S. and its allies to give Ukraine fighter jets, but so far, the Biden administration has <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2022/03/09/politics/ukraine-russia-poland-fighter-jets/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">refused</a>. Blinken, however, <a href="https://apnews.com/article/ukraine-aid-ammunition-riverine-boats-91b4aa084c7e00bd7c93ef8b857b1509">pledged</a> America’s unwavering support for Ukraine on Monday, saying that Russia “could end this war today,” but until it does, “we will stand united with Ukraine for as long as it takes.”
According to Monday’s <a href="https://www.defense.gov/News/Releases/Release/Article/3334472/dod-announces-additional-security-assistance-for-ukraine/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announcement</a>, additional munitions the U.S. is sending to Ukraine include:

<li>Ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS);</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">155mm artillery rounds;</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">25mm ammunition;</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">High-speed Anti-radiation missiles (HARMs);</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">81mm and 60mm mortar systems and mortar rounds;</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">AT-4 anti-armor weapon systems;</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Grenade launchers, small arms, and associated ammunition;</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Demolition munitions and equipment for obstacle clearing;</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Mine clearing equipment;</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Heavy fuel tankers;</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Thermal imagery systems, optics, and laser rangefinders; </li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Riverine patrol boats; </li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Testing and diagnostic equipment to support vehicle maintenance and repair; </li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Spare parts and other field equipment.</li>
