Jerome Winston Parker, a black supporter of convicted killer Karmelo Anthony who recently went viral for taunting a white Austin Metcalf supporter outside the Collin County Courthouse, was arrested this week on an outstanding warrant for unlawful carrying of a weapon, according to records obtained by <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/man-viral-karmelo-anthony-courthouse-confrontation-arrested-murder-trial">Fox News</a>.
Parker became a widely discussed figure during the murder trial after videos circulated online showing him confronting supporters of Metcalf, the 17-year-old whom Anthony was convicted of killing.
One of the most highly circulated clips showed Parker arguing with an older white man outside the courthouse. During the confrontation, Parker <a href="https://theshaderoom.com/jerome-parker-winston-weapon-karmelo-anthony-protest-viral-video-shade-room/">accused</a> the man of harassing a black woman and being homophobic while repeatedly challenging him and attempting to provoke a response. 
In one widely shared <a href="https://x.com/JLRINVESTIGATES/status/2064684087139279245">video,</a> Parker is seen shouting, dancing, and taunting the man from inches away.

According to Fox News, Parker was first investigated on June 6 after an alleged unlawful carrying of a weapon incident in the courthouse parking lot during activities related to the trial proceedings. He was arrested on June 9 on the outstanding warrant. His bond was set at $1,000.  

Parker was not the only person arrested outside the courthouse during the highly publicized proceedings. 
Sholdon Daniels, who was a Republican nominee for Texas’ 30th Congressional District before he lost in the May 26 primary, was also arrested on a charge of public intoxication. Daniels, who is black, argued with several Anthony supporters, saying Anthony &#8220;murdered that kid.&#8221;

During the incident, Daniels appeared to argue with members of the crowd before officers placed him in handcuffs.
Daniels later addressed the arrest on X, <a href="https://x.com/SholdonDaniels/status/2064968608044757122">criticizing</a> delays in the jail release process after bond has been posted.
“One lesson I’ve learned from our criminal justice system: posting bond and actually getting released are often two very different things,” Daniels wrote. “People routinely spend hours in jail after bond has already been approved because agencies are still relying on manual processes, duplicate paperwork, and outdated technology.”
“Texas should establish a statewide digital release system that electronically verifies bonds, notifies the jail instantly, and tracks release times.”
Anthony, 19, was convicted of murdering Metcalf and sentenced to 35 years in prison. He has appealed the case.

The man requested anonymity, citing concerns about potential backlash. He said he supports Republican Spencer Pratt in Tuesday&#8217;s primary but is not affiliated with his campaign.
In an <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfQpp6gwscU">interview</a> with comedian Adam Conover, Raman said she was shocked to find a homeless encampment outside of her house and relieved that her two children did not witness the demonstration.
“This has gone far beyond what I was expecting the campaign to be about,&#8221; she said.
Raman, who represents Los Angeles City Council District 4 and serves as chair of the council&#8217;s Housing and Homelessness Committee, has made homelessness a central issue of her campaign. 
Her campaign <a href="https://www.nithyaforthecity.com/homelessness">promises</a> to cut the number of people living in encampments by half by the 2028 Olympic Games and to develop solutions to eliminate encampments altogether. 
“The most painful crisis facing Los Angeles right now is homelessness,” Raman <a href="https://www.instagram.com/reel/DX9n9POuYyy/">said</a> in a campaign ad. “It’s the reason I first decided to run for office. My young children were seeing the crisis on the streets every day. It’s not okay for anyone to be sleeping on the sidewalk in the world’s richest country.”
Critics, however, say that Raman’s record on homelessness has fallen short of her rhetoric. She has <a href="https://cd4.lacity.gov/initiative/homelessness/">highlighted</a> efforts that helped take 500 people off the streets and into interim housing, which is only 0.7% of Los Angeles’s <a href="https://www.lahsa.org/news?article=1051-lahsa-releases-finalized-2025-homeless-count-results-after-hud-review">homeless population</a>. 
She has also faced criticism over more than <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/05/27/us-news/nithya-raman-abandons-4m-for-homeless-encampment-cleanup-during-run-for-la-mayor/">$4 million</a> in funding for homeless-related efforts that went unspent while campaigning for mayor.

The latest UC Berkeley-Los Angeles Times poll shows a tightly contested mayoral race, with incumbent Democratic Mayor Karen Bass polling at 26%, Raman at 25%, and Pratt at 22% among likely voters. The primary is June 2. The top two finishers will advance to the general election if no candidate receives more than 50% of the vote.

While immigration activists and Democratic lawmakers claim there&#8217;s a hunger strike causing turmoil at an ICE detention center in New Jersey, The Daily Wire has learned that the narrative may be far from the reality.
The Delaney Hall detainees engaging in a purported &#8220;hunger strike&#8221; are opting to not eat their regular meals while going to the commissary to purchase snacks instead, according to a source familiar with the situation. Meanwhile, activist groups are <a href="https://abc7ny.com/post/protesters-clash-ice-agents-during-protest-delaney-hall-newark-amid-hunger-strike-inside/19179424/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">claiming</a> that detainees are being fed spoiled food and meals contaminated with worms.
Democratic New Jersey Rep. Frank Pallone recently <a href="https://x.com/FrankPallone/status/2060174695740387356" target="_blank" rel="noopener">called</a> for the facility&#8217;s closure over concerns about possible retaliation against &#8220;hunger strikers,&#8221; &#8220;all because they were advocating for better food, access to basic medical care, and judicial hearings.&#8221;
&#8220;Delaney Hall is a disgrace to our country,&#8221; he said.
The source said the commissary snack store has seen an &#8220;increase in sales and detainees maxing out on items they can purchase weekly.&#8221;
So-called hunger strikes like the one playing out at Delaney Hall are all too common in ICE detention centers and the playbook is usually the same, former ICE New York field office deputy director Scott Mechkowski told The Daily Wire.
&#8220;I&#8217;ve seen real hunger strikes during my time as an ICE official, managing detention facilities. What&#8217;s happening at Delaney Hall is not a hunger strike,&#8221; Mechkowski said.
&#8220;When detainees are buying up Honey Buns and Snickers bars, and those with money are helping others get snacks, that&#8217;s not a hunger strike, it&#8217;s just a publicity stunt,&#8221; he added.
Dozens of protestors clashed with federal agents Thursday night and into Friday morning as demonstrations calling for the release of detainees from the Newark facility continued. Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said the agitators &#8220;bit, kicked, and punched&#8221; federal officers and that Democratic New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill &#8220;refused to allow state police to assist our officers.&#8221;

Mullin characterized the complaints about the food and conditions inside the facility as &#8220;political theater.&#8221;
&#8220;This isn&#8217;t a Holiday Inn, we&#8217;re not providing luxury housing, what we&#8217;re doing is we&#8217;re providing a sanitary place for them to be detained,&#8221; he <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMAuAGP2_dI" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> during an appearance on &#8220;Fox &amp; Friends&#8221; Thursday.
&#8220;We&#8217;re providing them three meals a day, we&#8217;re meeting the calorie standard &#8230; they have commissary, if you want to put money on their books, put money on their books &#8230; but not only are we providing them a safe place to stay and food and a place to sleep, but we&#8217;re also giving them a convenience store to be able to buy products out of.&#8221;
The New Jersey State Health Department inspected the detention center and its &#8220;food service department&#8221; Thursday morning, according to Mullin. Their findings have not been released.
In a statement shared with The Daily Wire, a Homeland Security spokesperson said &#8220;there is no hunger strike at Delaney Hall at this time&#8221; and that ICE is delivering three meals a day and water to each detainee&#8217;s room.
&#8220;All detainees are provided with 3 meals a day, clean water, clothing, bedding, showers, soap, and toiletries. Illegal aliens also have access to phones to communicate with their family members and lawyers. Certified dieticians evaluate meals. In fact, ICE has higher detention standards than most U.S. prisons that hold actual U.S. citizens,&#8221; the spokesperson said. 
“It is a longstanding practice to provide comprehensive medical care from the moment an alien enters ICE custody. This includes medical, dental, and mental health services as available, and access to medical appointments and 24-hour emergency care. For many illegal aliens this is the best healthcare they have received their entire lives,&#8221; the spokesperson added.

Foreign adversaries have figured out what American political campaigns are still learning: in a world where public opinion shapes policy, the battle for hearts and minds is fought on your phone. Iran, China, and Russia cannot compete with the United States militarily. But they can reach directly into your living room through social media, front organizations, and direct support of protest movements. All of this with the intent of making voters question whether the fight du jour, in this case Iran, is even worth it.
The bombs were falling on Iran when the protesters hit the streets. Within hours, people flooded Times Square and other cities across the country. Signs were already printed, chants rehearsed, and logistics arranged. That kind of speed doesn&#8217;t happen organically.
Truth-exposing outlets like Daily Wire, Free Press, and others have <a href="https://2244cf6a.streak-link.com/C1GudnnZGaLqZxM7tAquMJsL/https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thefp.com%2Fp%2Fthe-foreign-money-behind-americas">highlighted</a> this now routine phenomenon. In this case, at the center of the anti-Iran war movement sits the ANSWER Coalition (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism). This is the same type of group that organized anti-ICE protests, pro-Maduro rallies, and anti-Israel demonstrations in recent months. They are part of the &#8220;demonstration-industrial complex.” They’re pivoting to Iran right on cue.
America&#8217;s foes aren&#8217;t the only ones who want to sway American public opinion. Ukraine built a sophisticated information campaign in the early days of the Russian invasion: the Ghost of Kyiv, the Snake Island defenders, a little girl playing violin in a bomb shelter. The most devastating piece of content wasn&#8217;t a battlefield report, but a photograph of a dead woman&#8217;s outstretched hand, a keychain with a small EU flag lying in the street beside her. Those stories made an impact, and the public continues to support Ukraine in its fight today.
Every government and non-state actor that <a href="https://2244cf6a.streak-link.com/C1GudnjlZWnqjBmY3QRa-z3M/https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DbrB5P_gZ2-I%26t%3D1699s">understands the opportunity</a> will, and does, weaponize social media accordingly. And now these wars have made social media a front of modern battlefields.
But here&#8217;s where I would push back as a pollster, because the data compels me to.
Our most recent Cygnal National Voter Trends (NVT) <a href="https://2244cf6a.streak-link.com/C1GudnjOThJ62XJFbAe8uCZ-/https%3A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2FMarch26NVT">survey</a>, conducted March 3-4 among 1,500 likely voters, found Americans are genuinely split on the Iran strikes: 50% support and 44% oppose. These numbers aren&#8217;t fringe on either side, and when you look underneath the surface, the ideological geography is revealing.
Among Democratic women under 45, opposition to the strikes reaches 89%. Put another way, nine in 10 Democratic women under 45 oppose American strikes against Iran. That&#8217;s a substantial bloc of the American public that has absorbed a coherent, emotionally resonant narrative about American aggression, and they believe it.
The data on accepting law-breaking, something Daily Wire has covered extensively, is equally striking and tragically relevant. In October, Cygnal asked whether it was acceptable to go beyond peaceful protest to oppose ICE raids, like those in Minneapolis. Overall, 42 percent of self-identified liberals said yes. Among liberal women 18-44, that number climbed to 61 percent. These are Americans angry enough about what they’re witnessing in this country that they are willing to risk arrest, or worse.
That’s precisely what happened when Renee Good was killed in Minneapolis while using her vehicle to block law enforcement from executing an ICE operation. What she did was not a peaceful protest. It was illegal. And yet, a solid majority of Gen Z and Millennial women who share her politics believed (and as of March still believe) that physically impeding ICE agents is perfectly acceptable.
Many Americans (predominantly young and liberal) have convinced themselves they’re resisting literal Nazis. They consume media that constantly reinforces the message and have become radicalized. Radicals always believe they are the hero in their own story, fighting villains so terrible that breaking all the rules is justified. The logic is the same whether the villain is Donald Trump, Zionists, or someone new.
That belief structure is real. It&#8217;s not just a bot farm in Beijing.
This is the new landscape of American foreign policy. Every major action the U.S. takes abroad now triggers an immediate domestic information battle. Foreign adversaries don&#8217;t manufacture voter sentiment from scratch; they find real grievances, real emotions, real people, and pour accelerant on the fire.
No doubt this is an alarming confluence that requires holding two things in one’s head at once: that many protesters are genuinely motivated Americans, and that the machinery amplifying their voices deserves real scrutiny.
It is possible to take individual protesters seriously while also asking hard questions about who is organizing, funding, and benefitting from movements that materialize within hours of a military strike against the world’s greatest sponsor of terrorism.
Ukraine understood that American public opinion was a battleground and fought for it effectively. Iran&#8217;s proxies and China understand the same thing.
The only question is whether we do.

Former CNN anchor Don Lemon said that he &#8220;ain&#8217;t even worried&#8221; about the possibility that he could end up behind bars following his arrest in Los Angeles — and promised that he planned to be even more outspoken in the days to come.
Lemon, who was arrested in connection to a protest in Minneapolis that disrupted a Sunday morning church service, has maintained in the days since that he was only there in his capacity as an &#8220;independent journalist&#8221; to record what happened during the protest.

Lemon was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/don-lemon-helped-protestors-keep-church-plans-under-wraps-blocked-congregants-from-leaving-indictment">arrested</a> after a grand jury found probable cause to indict him. The indictment stated in part that Lemon had &#8220;entered the church with the “first wave of agitators,” and &#8220;oppressed, threatened, and intimidated the Church’s congregants and pastors by physically occupying most of the main aisle and rows of chairs near the front of the Church, engaging in menacing and threatening behavior, chanting and yelling loudly at the pastor and congregants, and/or physically obstructing them as they attempted to exit and/or move about within the Church.&#8221;
President Trump weighed in on Lemon&#8217;s arrest while speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Saturday, saying that he had not had any advance knowledge that <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/abc-host-and-top-trump-official-spar-over-don-lemon-arrest">Lemon</a> was going to be arrested but making it clear that he was not a fan of the ousted CNN personality.

A group of protesters clashed with Texas Department of Public Safety troopers on Wednesday outside of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement family detention center, where a 5-year-old boy, who has made headlines, is being held with his suspected illegal immigrant father.
At least two protesters were arrested as troopers attempted to clear the crowd of around 150 people who were blocking a road outside of the South Texas Family Residential Center near Dilley, Texas. Law enforcement officers deployed tear gas and shoved the crowd back, a <a href="https://www.ksat.com/news/local/2026/01/28/protesters-detained-hit-by-tear-gas-outside-dilley-family-detention-facility/">video</a> from ABC&#8217;s San Antonio affiliate KSAT shows.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said that it sent troopers to the facility &#8220;at the request of the City of Dilley.&#8221;
“During today’s response, after dispersal orders were given, approximately 150 demonstrators refused to leave and began to breach the established protest barrier and spit on officers,” the department said. “Despite continued orders to disperse, the group remained and DPS took less-lethal action, deploying pepper ball grenades and pepper ball projectiles to ensure officer safety and maintain order. DPS personnel arrested two individuals on various charges, including resisting arrest and interfering with public duties.”
The demonstrators showed up outside the ICE detention facility to protest federal authorities holding a 5-year-old Ecuadorian boy after his father was arrested during the Trump administration&#8217;s immigration enforcement operation in Minnesota. A picture of the boy standing with federal agents went viral last week, with many on the Left pointing to the incident as an example of ICE cruelty.
The Department of Homeland Security said that the young child was &#8220;abandoned&#8221; by his father, Adrian Alexander Conejo Arias, when Conejo Arias allegedly attempted to flee from federal agents.
&#8220;For the child’s safety, one of our ICE officers remained with the child while the other officers apprehended Conejo Arias,&#8221; Homeland Security added. &#8220;Parents are asked if they want to be removed with their children, or ICE will place the children with a safe person the parent designates. This is consistent with past administration’s immigration enforcement.&#8221;
A Minnesota pastor told CNN that the child&#8217;s mother feared going outside to get her child because of ICE&#8217;s presence. Assistant Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin, however, said that federal agents &#8220;assured [the mother] she would NOT be taken into custody.&#8221;
&#8220;The alleged mother refused to accept custody of the child. The father told officers he wanted the child to remain with him,&#8221; McLaughlin added.
On Tuesday, a federal judge <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/federal-judge-blocks-ice-from-deporting-minnesota-man-5-year-old-son">blocked</a> the Trump administration from deporting the boy and his father.
Rep. Angie Craig (D-MN) blasted ICE and those who support the agency after the story of the 5-year-old boy went viral. Craig claimed that ICE &#8220;used&#8221; the 5-year-old to &#8220;lure his father out.&#8221;
&#8220;This is the worst of the damn worst,&#8221; Craig added. &#8220;This is not humanity in Minnesota, folks. If you can look at this 5-year-old and actually with a straight face still support [ICE] and be silent in the face of what the Trump administration and Kristi Noem [are] doing, I just can&#8217;t even believe this is America. I will not vote for a damn penny to Kristi Noem or ICE in this Congress.&#8221;
Texas Republican Senator John Cornyn, who has opposed President Donald Trump on some issues, has defended ICE in recent weeks. When addressing the Camp East Montana ICE facility in El Paso earlier this month, Cornyn said that people “are treated humanely” at the facility.
The controversy over ICE holding the 5-year-old boy has further inflamed tensions in Minnesota over Trump&#8217;s immigration enforcement in the state. Chaos erupted on the streets over the weekend after Border Patrol agents shot and killed anti-ICE protester Alex Pretti. The shooting and the political fallout resulted in President Trump making changes to his strategy in Minnesota, sending his border czar, Tom Homan, to the state to take charge of the operation.
The move effectively sidelined Homeland Security Secretary Noem, and Border Patrol commander-at-large Gregory Bovino was reassigned after leading the Minnesota enforcement operation for the past month.
During a press conference on Thursday, Homan said the Trump administration was working on drafting a &#8220;drawdown plan&#8221; to reduce the number of immigration agents in Minnesota.

CNN anchor Kasie Hunt attempted to use an old tweet from the late Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk to defend protesters coming armed to demonstrations against federal immigration officers, whether they be with Border Patrol or Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Hunt claimed that video from Minneapolis protests — particularly video showing the fatal confrontation between Border Patrol agents and Alex Pretti — was proof that President Donald Trump&#8217;s administration had become &#8220;tyrannical&#8221; and justified civilians taking up arms against the government.

&#8220;I want to bring back a tweet from Charlie Kirk in 2018. He says this, &#8216;The Second Amendment is not for hunting. It&#8217;s not for self protection. Hunt did not mention the fact that federal immigration officials had only been sent by the Trump administration to enforce existing federal laws, nor did she address the intentional roadblocks to federal law enforcement — namely sanctuary policies — that have been put into place by Democratic leaders in states like Minnesota.
Officials within the Trump administration have repeatedly stated that it would be unnecessary to surge federal resources and personnel to states like Minnesota and Maine — where the next major surge has already begun — if local and state law enforcement would simply cooperate with ICE detainers and coordinate with federal immigration officials to make safe prisoner exchanges at jails or courthouses.

St. Paul Democratic Mayor Kaohly Her made excuses for the protesters who crashed a church service on Sunday, arguing that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents had effectively set the precedent by enforcing federal immigration law in &#8220;sacred&#8221; spaces like public schools.
Her, who was just elected mayor in November, spoke with CNN anchor Erin Burnett on Tuesday&#8217;s broadcast of &#8220;Erin Burnett Outfront,&#8221; and although she initially tried to claim that she did not support protesters disrupting Sunday worship services, she immediately pivoted to blame ICE for scaring the community to the point that they felt they didn&#8217;t have a choice.

&#8220;I will say that ICE has led the way in their charge of going onto school properties and detaining people from places that should be just as well kept sacred,&#8221; she began. &#8220;And so we responded the exact same way we would have at any place of worship.&#8221;
Her noted that local police had arrived at the scene, but then said that she could not make additional comments because the investigation was still ongoing. She once again declared that the situation would not have been handled any differently at any other place of worship.
Burnett asked then if Her&#8217;s claim — that ICE had effectively started the tit-for-tat — meant that she thought it was acceptable for the protesters to do the same.
&#8220;I don’t ever believe that it is OK for us to cross the line in which there are spaces in which people have certain rights and freedoms,&#8221; Her said, but immediately pivoted to add, &#8220;But I will say that if this government wants us to obey rule of law that they also need to follow that as well and that they cannot expect residents who are feeling terrorized and sieged to be operating under any different circumstances or any different rules than they are operating in.&#8221;

The Department of Justice could take major legal action after an anti-ICE protest hijacked a service at Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota, on Sunday.
United States Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon told The Daily Wire in an interview Monday morning that she’s working closely with Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate for “federal offenses,” including breaking the FACE (Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances) Act, which Dhillon noted “criminalizes blocking, interfering with, disrupting a house of worship.&#8221; The protest was sparked over one of the pastors&#8217; employment with ICE, according to the Associated Press.
“That&#8217;s exactly what these people did. Clearly. So, the only question really is who they are and what other offenses there may be,” she said, later adding that “we don&#8217;t prejudge a situation, but we&#8217;d like to make the strongest case possible.” During the interview, the DOJ official noted that were two prosecutors flying to Minnesota as of Monday morning to dive into the case.
“I find the silence of the Attorney General of Minnesota, the District Attorney Mary Moriarty of Hennepin County, and the Governor of Minnesota Tim Walz, shocking. They&#8217;re the governor, District Attorney, and Attorney General of these people, too. And where&#8217;s the reassurance to them?” Dhillon asked.
The Daily Wire reached out to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office and Attorney General Keith Ellison’s office. Gov. Tim Walz’s office told <a href="https://x.com/MattFinnFNC/status/2013329688458932309?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fox News</a>, “The Governor has repeatedly and unequivocally urged protesters to do so peacefully. While people have a right to speak out, he in no way supports interrupting a place of worship.”
Dhillon also empathized with churchgoers who may be concerned about protests when attending a service in the coming weeks.
“I feel like I have to give a First Amendment 101 primer to people, including journalists like Don Lemon, because you don&#8217;t have a First Amendment right to trespass and invade a house of worship. It&#8217;s literally illegal to do that. And it&#8217;s not protected by the First Amendment on top of that,” she said. Former CNN anchor Don Lemon live-streamed the protest inside the church, and Dhillon suggested in other interviews on Monday that it could potentially open the door for charges against the liberal commentator.
“And so you can have your protest a safe distance away from a private facility. You can have your protest in a park, you can have a march, you can get a permit for a large gathering, but you can&#8217;t just go wherever you want and tear things up and disrupt. And that&#8217;s what these people did. And so now, people are afraid to go to church. And that is an absolute disgrace in this country,” the assistant attorney general continued.
She also recommended that houses of worship have cameras outside of their buildings to &#8220;be prepared to record what&#8217;s going on and who&#8217;s coming.”
“I would just tell people that they should not be on edge. We believe in the Almighty and this DOJ has the right and the ability to step in and protect where the local authorities won’t,” Dhillon noted.
Anti-ICE protests escalated in the Minneapolis area after an ICE agent fatally shot Renee Good, a woman who allegedly attempted to hit the officer with her vehicle, as the Department of Homeland Security said the agent suffered from internal bleeding after the incident.

Watching this, two TV scenes immediately came to mind. The first is from <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCrngJCkI8I">Breaking Bad</a>, when Walter White tries to negotiate with the drug dealers who are about to kill his brother-in-law. He thinks he can reason with them. His brother-in-law tells him, “What are you talking about? They made up their mind ten minutes ago.”
The other scene is from <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHzw4QvE2Do">It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia</a>, when Frank says, “Yeah, they started coming up to me and I didn’t know what they wanted, so I started blasting.”
I certainly don’t encourage the latter — but those are two very different approaches to the same situation.
The guy in this video seems to think these people are being reasonable. This band of leftists — they’re not black-masked Antifa terrorists. They just look dopey and annoying. Awful, insolent white twenty-somethings.
They demand, “Prove that you’re not ICE.” And he responds, “Okay, all right, I’ll show you the back of my SUV — but I don’t have to do this.” Then he adds, “I appreciate you guys.&#8221; Really? He appreciate them going around to random middle-aged white guys and demanding that they prove they’re not law enforcement?
If they were law enforcement, they would have no right to do this. Actual law enforcement should be arresting these kids just for asking the question, because they’re clearly obstructing law enforcement and criminal investigations.

But this — this is what you get when ICE doesn’t enforce the law. This is what you get when state and local authorities refuse to enforce the law. All of a sudden, you have bands of vigilantes going around singling people out.
Why are they singling this guy out? Do they seriously think he’s law enforcement?
No. They’re singling him out based on his race, sex, and age — because they don’t like middle-aged white guys. That’s what’s happening here. And this dope is walking around saying, “All right, listen, I respect what you’re doing. I don’t have to do this, but I respect it. (Please don’t—please don’t gang up on me.)”
Luckily, the group here seems to be just as dopey as he is. They don’t appear to pose much of a threat — at least not in this moment. But we’ve seen these kinds of left-wing gangs commit real violence. And we’ve seen even bourgeois, middle-class white liberals justify that violence — something that shows up clearly in a lot of social-scientific surveys.
That’s what you get.

President Donald Trump said that the United States would come to the “rescue” if Iranian forces began shooting protesters, as demonstrations against the regime continued for a sixth consecutive day.  
Sparked by economic unrest, protests first broke out last weekend in Tehran with groups chanting “death to the dictator” and “freedom.” Seven people, including protesters and government forces, have been killed so far, <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-says-us-intervene-iran-starts-killing-protesters-locked-loaded" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to reports. 
“If Iran shots [sic] and violently kills peaceful protesters, which is their custom, the United States of America will come to their rescue,” Trump posted on Truth Social early Friday morning. “We are locked and loaded and ready to go. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
Trump&#8217;s warning comes as he has continued to take an aggressive approach to Iran, saying earlier this week that he would support more Israeli military strikes on the country if Tehran continues to develop ballistic missiles or pursue nuclear capabilities.
In response to Trump’s post, the secretary of Iran&#8217;s Supreme National Security Council said any intervention by America would exacerbate instability in the area while accusing the United States and Israel of encouraging the disorder. 
&#8220;With the statements by Israeli officials and Donald Trump, what has been going on behind the scenes is now clear. We distinguish between the stance of the protesting shopkeepers and the actions of disruptive actors, and Trump should know that U.S. interference in this internal matter would mean destabilizing the entire region and destroying America’s interests,” he posted on X. “The American people should know — Trump started this adventurism. They should be mindful of their soldiers’ safety.”

Much of the violence has occurred in Western Iran, where a local official promised that protesters would be treated &#8220;decisively and without leniency,&#8221; Reuters <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/trump-threatens-iran-over-protest-deaths-unrest-flares-2026-01-02/">reported</a>. Dozens of protesters, including women and children, have been arrested. 
On Thursday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said the protests were the result of the government&#8217;s failure to address skyrocketing inflation and widespread economic anxiety. 
&#8220;We are to blame&#8230; Do not look for America or anyone else to blame. We must serve properly so that people are satisfied with us&#8230;. It is us who have to find a solution to these problems,&#8221; he said, Reuters reported. 
Iran’s currency has reportedly dropped to 1.42 million to the dollar, a loss of more than 56% over six months, fueling soaring inflation and driving food prices up 72% from last year.
