An elderly pro-life Catholic sidewalk counselor who was brutally beaten outside of a Baltimore Planned Parenthood wants the Trump administration to intervene after his attacker was given a slap on the wrist earlier this year.

The letter, obtained by The Daily Wire, suggests that their attacker, Patrick Brice, could face federal charges for targeting them based on their religious beliefs. 
“The attack is shocking for its violence and brutality and was captured on surveillance video,” Terrell Roberts, a lawyer for Crosby, wrote to Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon. “He was [at Planned Parenthood] with another counselor, Dick Schaefer, age 84. They hand out rosaries and religious literature to women and offer religiously based counseling with the goal of preserving the life of the unborn.&#8221;
Footage of the May 26 assault shows Brice getting into an argument with Schaefer before tackling the octogenarian into a potted plant and knocking him out. When Crosby runs up to check on Schaefer, Brice throws him to the ground before punching and kicking him in the head.

In August, Brice escaped jail time after Baltimore City Circuit Judge Yvette Bryan sentenced him to just one year of home detention and three years of probation. State prosecutors requested a total of 10 years in prison, asking that the judge send a “strong message of deterrence” against attacking people in broad daylight over their political and religious views.
Brice also dodged a more serious first-degree assault charge in both a jury trial and a bench trial. Bryan acquitted Brice of the charge because she claimed Crosby provoked him by coming to Schaefer&#8217;s aid.
&#8220;Finding Brice not guilty of a violent felony in the face of overwhelming evidence and showing extraordinary leniency by imposing a sentencing without any imprisonment in the face of the prosecution&#8217;s request for a 10-year sentence of imprisonment was a gross miscarriage of justice,&#8221; Roberts wrote.
Crosby accuses Brice of ripping off a crucifix he was wearing around his neck at the time of the attack. During sentencing, Brice disputed this and claimed that he had no animosity toward Christians.

A pro-life organization is fighting back after a leftist group ripped off its logo to promote so-called “abortion rights.”
40 Days for Life President Shawn Carney told The Daily Wire that the New Mexico group Pro Choice Las Cruces was illegally using his organization’s logo to push abortion. Carney said that he was prepared to sue the pro-abortion group if it did not stop using its proprietary material immediately.
In a pair of letters obtained by The Daily Wire, the 40 Days for Life legal team demanded that Pro Choice Las Cruces immediately cease using its logo. Those letters came after Pro Choice Las Cruces started mimicking the logo of 40 Days for Life on its <a href="https://www.facebook.com/people/Womens-March-Las-Cruces/61569465891530/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Facebook page</a> in September, an action that Carney called a “clear violation” of copyright law.
The pro-abortion group took the logo, added an illustration of a woman’s reproductive system, and changed the words from “40 Days for Life” to “40 Days for Choice.” The group also changed the motto from “The Beginning of the End of Abortion” to “The Beginning of the End of Oppresion [sic].”

Las Cruces is located at a key spot near the Texas border and is a popular destination for abortion tourism, Carney said. Neighboring states like Texas have enacted pro-life laws, pushing many to travel out of state to end the lives of their unborn children. New Mexico has no protections for the unborn in place.
40 Days for Life sent its first cease-and-desist letter on October 10, and another letter on Friday, warning the organization that it may be violating copyright law.
The letters were sent to Hailey Walker, a leftist activist linked to the Women’s March in Las Cruces. That organization shares a Facebook page with Pro Choice Las Cruces. According to Carney, the group responded to the first letter by refusing to stop using the logo.
“Given your response to our notice to cease and desist, it is clear your actions are willful and intentional. Pro Choice Las Cruces/Women&#8217;s March Las Cruces stole 40 Days for Life font, logo, name, colors and tagline in an intentional way to confuse the public,” a letter sent Friday by 40 Days for Life said.
Carney said that other leftist groups have co-opted their messages in the past and that his organization is prepared for further legal action. He said they would be ready to sue Walker “if need be.”
He also noted that instead of oppressing women, as Pro Choice Las Cruces suggests, pro-life activists support women by offering alternatives to abortion. 40 Days for Life often helps women considering abortions find free medical care alternatives.
“They feel unbelievable gratitude that we were out there and that we were willing to help them on what was a very hard day for them, and a day they never wanted to be in that position to be driving in for an abortion, but they were, and we didn’t judge them. We didn’t oppress them. We helped them and helped them with tangible alternatives,” Carney said.
In contrast, he said that the “left offers nothing with abortion” and feels threatened by the alternatives offered by groups like his.
Pro Choice Las Cruces has until October 20 to take down the logo or face further action from 40 Days for Life.

Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) demanded Thursday that a radical pro-abortion organization provide answers on its involvement with the Biden administration’s targeting of peaceful pro-life protesters, according to a letter obtained by The Daily Wire. 
In a <a href="https://dw-wp-production.imgix.net/2025/10/10.16.25-CR-to-NAF-Gonen-re-DOJ-coordination.pdf">letter</a> to the National Abortion Federation, Roy gave the organization two weeks to provide documents and communications on its relationship with former President Joe Biden’s Justice Department. The letter comes after The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bidens-fbi-worked-with-radical-pro-abortion-group-to-target-pro-lifers-emails-show">reported last month</a> about emails that appeared to show that a pro-abortion group had worked with Biden’s FBI and DOJ to investigate Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act (FACE) cases. 
Under Biden, elderly grandparents, devout Christians, and other pro-life activists were sent to prison over FACE Act convictions. Republicans have argued that these prosecutions were politically motivated. Roy, the chair of the Subcommittee on the Constitution and Limited Government, is heading up an investigation into the abuse of the FACE Act. 
“Documents indicate that the Biden-Harris DOJ may have coordinated with radical anti-life groups, including the National Abortion Federation (NAF), to prosecute peaceful pro-life demonstrators,” Roy wrote, citing The Daily Wire. “This coordination raises significant questions about the Biden-Harris DOJ’s misuse of the FACE Act.”
The documents, which were obtained by the Functional Government Initiative, included an email from National Abortion Federation Security Manager Robert Ledogar saying that his organization has “been part of several FACE Act investigations working with [assistant U.S. attorneys] and the FBI in TN, FL, VA, CA, NY, MD, and NC.” The email also touted the “amazing relationship” between the NAF and the Biden administration. 
“The Biden-Harris Administration weaponized the federal government to target its political opponents, including by selectively enforcing the FACE Act against pro-life Americans,” Roy wrote to the NAF. “During the Biden-Harris Administration, DOJ used the FACE Act to target prayer and peaceful demonstration near abortion clinics while failing to prosecute criminals who vandalized or threatened pro-life pregnancy counseling centers.”

Roy noted that the apparent relationship between the NAF and DOJ raised questions about testimony from National Abortion Federation lawyer Talcott Camp when she told Congress in May 2023 that she had no contact with the Biden administration related to the FACE Act. That testimony came five months after Ledogar bragged in January 2023 about the NAF’s relationship with the DOJ.

“Given her senior position at NAF, the Committee has questions about who was engaging with the Biden-Harris DOJ regarding FACE Act prosecution,” Roy wrote Thursday. 
It is unclear which specific FACE Act investigations the National Abortion Federation was involved in, but at least two of the states referenced by Ledogar had major FACE Act prosecutions. 
For example, six pro-lifers in Tennessee faced over 10 years in prison after they were <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/a-church-meeting-is-now-a-conspiracy-pro-lifers-pray-outside-court-after-conviction-over-peaceful-protest">convicted</a> of violating the FACE Act and conspiring against rights. Three of the pro-lifers were sentenced to prison over that case, which involved a group of Christians singing and praying inside the hallway of an office building outside an abortion facility.
“To develop effective legislation ensuring that civil rights laws are not used to target Americans who engage in protected speech, the Committee must understand the extent to which the Biden-Harris DOJ worked with ideologically-aligned groups to target pro-life Americans,” Roy wrote. 
The House Judiciary Committee voted earlier this year to repeal the FACE Act, citing its disproportionate use against pro-life defendants. Since its inception, data obtained by Roy shows that over 90% of FACE cases have targeted pro-lifers, even though it is supposed to protect crisis pregnancy centers and churches as well.

Louisiana sued the FDA this week for allowing the unfettered mailing of abortion drugs across the country.
The suit, <a href="https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.lawd.213952/gov.uscourts.lawd.213952.1.0.pdf">filed</a> Monday by Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill, accused the FDA of enabling leftist activists to mail abortion pills into states like Louisiana, where chemical abortions are illegal. Murrill asked the court to strike down the FDA’s approval during the Biden administration of mail-order abortion pills.
“Every year, doctors and activists in states like California and New York mail a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved abortion drug called mifepristone to thousands of Louisiana residents for the express purpose of causing abortions in Louisiana that are blatantly unlawful,” the suit said. “This extra-territorial mailing of abortion drugs is illegal under state law—and it is the direct result of the Biden Administration’s 2023 agency action expressly facilitating this scheme. That action is the subject of this lawsuit.”
In 2023, the Biden administration changed the Risk Evaluation Mitigation Strategy (REMS) for mifepristone, the drug used in over 60% of all abortions, allowing it to be sent through the mail.
Mifepristone works by starving an unborn child to death by cutting it off from the necessary nutrients provided by its mother. A different drug is then taken to induce labor and expel the deceased baby.
Murrill argued in the suit that the FDA’s regulations for mifepristone are “arbitrary and capricious” and violate the Comstock Act, a federal law that bans the mailing of abortion drugs. Joining the suit was Rosalie Markezich, a woman who says her boyfriend ordered illegal abortion pills from California and was then pressured into taking them to end the life of her unborn child.

In response to a request for comment on the suit, the Department of Health and Human Services said that it does not comment on pending litigation. HHS did point The Daily Wire to its commitment to conducting a study on the reported adverse effects of mifepristone.
“The Biden administration removed mifepristone’s in-person dispensing rule without studying the safety risks. We are filling that gap. Last month, I joined [FDA Commissioner Marty Makary] in writing to state attorneys general, pledging to review all the evidence — including real-world outcomes — on the safety of this drug. Recent studies already point to serious risks when mifepristone is used without proper medical oversight,” HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. <a href="https://x.com/SecKennedy/status/1973866621245567344">said</a> earlier this month.

Fifty-two Republican senators sent a <a href="https://justthenews.com/sites/default/files/2025-10/2025.10.09%20-%20Letter%20from%20Senator%20Graham%20et%20al%20to%20HHS%20and%20FDA%20re%20Mifepristone.pdf">letter</a> on Thursday to the FDA and HHS urging them to scrap the regulations that allow the mailing of abortion drugs.
The FDA has said that it was required by law to approve the new generic drug and noted that it was conducting a review of the Biden guidelines. On a press call on Wednesday, SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser said she was skeptical of that reasoning.
“This standard only seems to apply to this particular drug. It [has] certainly not been the standard for other drugs where there were questions that needed to be asked, that needed to get answers from those that were developing the drugs,” she said.

A coalition of pro-life advocates led by Live Action President Lila Rose on Friday urged Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and FDA Commissioner Marty Makary to reverse the recent approval of an abortion drug. 
Over two dozen pro-life advocates petitioned the FDA following the agency&#8217;s Tuesday approval of Evita Solutions’ generic version of mifepristone, the drug used in over 60% of all abortions. The signatories say that instead of approving new life-ending drugs, the FDA should completely remove mifepristone from the market. 
“We urge you, in the strongest possible terms, to reverse this dangerous approval immediately,&#8221; the coalition wrote, according to a <a href="https://dw-wp-production.imgix.net/2025/10/FDA-Coalition-Letter_-Abortion-Pill-10.3.2025-1.pdf">copy of the letter</a> obtained by The Daily Wire. &#8220;Rather than expanding the license for these drugs, the FDA should acknowledge the clear evidence of harm and withdraw mifepristone from the market.&#8221;
“Every abortion is a violation of human rights, and every life lost is an irreplaceable son or daughter. The federal government must stop enabling this violence under the false banner of ‘healthcare,’” they added. 
Signers of the letter included Ethics and Public Policy Center President Ryan Anderson, Students for Life President Kristan Hawkins, and Concerned Women for America CEO Penny Nance.
On Friday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that the administration did not endorse the drug, but was required by law to approve Evita’s application because it was a generic offering of a drug already offered by two other pharmaceutical companies. 
The letter to Kennedy also laid out the brutal process that takes place after a mother takes a chemical abortion pill. 
“A chemical abortion consists of a two-step process. First, a pregnant mother will take mifepristone to starve her preborn child to death. Next, she will take misoprostol to induce labor contractions and deliver the baby&#8217;s dead body. At this stage in the first trimester, children developing in the womb already have a detectable heartbeat and brainwaves, and are beginning to move their arms and legs,” the coalition wrote. 
The coalition said that the approval contradicted a recent commitment from Kennedy to study the dangers of mifepristone. 
“Yet rather than pausing to examine the mounting evidence showing the harmful effects of mifepristone, the FDA has chosen to expand access to a drug that has already killed millions of preborn children and harmed countless women, undermining the very commitment that the Secretary publicly made to protect patients,” they wrote. 
Chemical abortions account for about two-thirds of all abortions in the United States and have ended the lives of at least 7.5 million unborn babies. At the same time, the mothers who take the pills often experience additional medical complications like hemorrhaging and sepsis. Studies showing the dangers of the drug have been manipulated to hide the harm, the coalition said. 
The decision has already triggered outrage from many Republican lawmakers. A group of 13 House Republicans led by North Carolina Congressman Mark Harris demanded Friday that Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. fire the bureaucrats responsible for the FDA’s “alarming” approval of a new abortion pill, according to a letter obtained by The Daily Wire. 
Harris told Kennedy that the FDA’s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/pro-lifers-demand-answers-from-trump-admin-after-shocking-abortion-pill-approval?author=Leif+Le+Mahieu&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=2&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Pro-Lifers+Demand+Answers+From+Trump+Admin+After+%E2%80%98Shocking%E2%80%99+Abortion+Pill+Approval">approval</a> of Evita Solutions’ generic mifepristone, the drug used in over 60% of all abortions, ran contrary to the Trump administration’s pro-life record. Harris and his co-signers suggested that “rogue actors” in the FDA were responsible for the decision. 
“The approval of a generic version of this dangerous drug not only contradicts the announced review but also runs directly counter to this Administration’s stated pro-life agenda,” the lawmakers <a href="https://dw-wp-production.imgix.net/2025/10/10.3.25-Letter-to-Sec-Kennedy-on-Abortion-Pill-Approval.pdf">wrote</a>. “It is clear that rogue actors within the FDA are working to undermine both the sanctity of life and the Administration’s commitment to protecting it.”
They said that Kennedy should look at removing the officials responsible for the decision. 
“For this reason, we respectfully urge that you consider the director of the Office of Generic Drugs, the director of the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, and other bureaucrats responsible for this reckless decision as part of your reduction-in-force evaluations,” he wrote. 
Signing onto the letter were Reps. Josh Brecheen (OK), Keith Self (Texas), Eli Crane (AZ), Paul Gosar (AZ), Chip Roy (Texas), Mary Miller (IL), Andy Biggs (AZ), Barry Moore (AL), Scott Perry (PA), Ralph Norman (SC), Sheri Biggs (SC), and Ben Cline (VA).

This is a critical moment to send a clear message that the lives of the unborn and the health of women will not be compromised by bureaucratic mismanagement or ideological activism.
Commenting on the approval, Health and Human Services Communications Director Andrew Nixon told The Daily Wire that the FDA “has very limited discretion in deciding whether to approve a generic drug. By law, the Secretary of Health and Human Services must approve an application if it demonstrates that the generic drug is identical to the brand-name drug.”
Nixon added that applicants for generic drugs do not need to submit independent evidence proving safety and efficacy. He also noted that HHS is conducting a review of the “reported adverse effects” of mifepristone.
Only two other drug companies, Danco Labs and Genbiopro, were previously approved to distribute the life-ending drug. The FDA wrote to Evita Solutions on September 30 that it had “concluded that adequate information has been presented to demonstrate that the drug meets the requirements for approval.”
The announcement shocked pro-life advocates, who have continued to press for action to crack down on the widespread distribution of abortion pills across the country.

The FDA on Tuesday gave <a href="https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/drugsatfda_docs/appletter/2025/216616s000ltr.pdf">approval</a> for Evita Solutions to distribute mifepristone, a drug that is used to end the life of an unborn child in up to 63% of all abortions. After a pregnant woman takes mifepristone, her unborn child is cut off from the nutrients it needs to survive and is effectively starved to death. A different drug is then taken to induce labor and expel the deceased baby from the mother. 
The fatal drug has been increasingly available after the Biden administration allowed it to be mailed by doctors. Leftist activists ship the drugs illegally across the country with impunity. 
Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) called the approval “shocking” and said he had lost faith in FDA leadership. 
“This is shocking. FDA has just approved ANOTHER chemical abortion drug, when the evidence shows chemical abortion drugs are dangerous and even deadly for the mother. And of course 100% lethal to the child,” Hawley <a href="https://x.com/HawleyMO/status/1973801164052574259">wrote</a> on X. 
“FDA had promised to do a top-to-bottom safety review of the chemical abortion drug, but instead they’ve just greenlighted new versions of it for distribution. I have lost confidence in the leadership at FDA,” he added.

The FDA announced a new safety study just days ago, so why this new move now?&#8221; he <a href="https://x.com/RepMarkHarrisNC/status/1973841437730222548">wrote</a> on X.
Only two other drug companies, Danco Labs and Genbiopro, were previously approved to distribute the life-ending drug. The FDA wrote to Evita Solutions on September 30 that it had “concluded that adequate information has been presented to demonstrate that the drug meets the requirements for approval.”
Evita Solutions says on its <a href="https://www.evitasolutionsllc.com">website</a> that “medical abortion care is rife with medically unnecessary restrictions and social stigma in the United States” and that it “believes that all people should have access to safe, affordable, high-quality, effective, and compassionate abortion care, regardless of their race, sex, gender, age, sexuality, income, or where they live.”
Evita said that it expected to have the life-ending drug available by January 2026.
&#8220;Evita Solutions is now the third manufacturer (the second generic manufacturer) with FDA approval.  Availability of our product will expand patients’ options for medication abortion with an affordable product backed by decades of safe use,&#8221; it said in a statement.
In response to questions about the drug’s approval, Health and Human Services Communications Director Andrew Nixon told The Daily Wire that the FDA “has very limited discretion in deciding whether to approve a generic drug. By law, the Secretary of Health and Human Services must approve an application if it demonstrates that the generic drug is identical to the brand-name drug.”
Nixon added that applicants for generic drugs do not need to submit independent evidence proving safety and efficacy. 
“HHS is conducting a study of the reported adverse effects of mifepristone to ensure the FDA’s risk mitigation program for the drug is sufficient to protect women from unstated risks,” Nixon added. “The FDA does not endorse any drug product and directs prescribers to follow all labeling.”
The decision is already drawing backlash from pro-life advocates who have long warned about the dangers of the drug. Kelsey Pritchard, the director of state affairs for SBA Pro-Life America, called the decision “reckless.”
“This does nothing to help and fix the problem that we have with abortion drugs and mail-order abortion drugs, and instead puts a cheap drug on the market so that more unborn lives are taken and more women and girls end up in the ER,” she told The Daily Wire. 
Pritchard said that the Trump administration should reinstate restrictions on the mailing of mifepristone that the Biden administration loosened. 
“This decision is not MAGA. It is not MAHA, adding a new life ending drug to the market doesn&#8217;t make America greater or healthier, and this is not something that we would expect, especially at this time,” she added, calling for pro-life Republicans to call out the decision. 
Last month, HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and FDA Commissioner Marty Makary told Republican attorneys general that they were studying the safety of mifepristone. Some studies have shown that the drug is not only fatal to the unborn child but can also bring serious health risks to the mother.

As the Biden administration locked up elderly grandparents and devout Christians over peaceful pro-life protests, it partnered with a radical pro-abortion organization to prosecute pro-lifers, previously unreleased emails show.
President Joe Biden’s Justice Department and FBI partnered with the National Abortion Federation for multiple investigations into pro-life protests and developed an “amazing relationship,” according to <a href="https://functionalgovernment.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/23-00119-F-5.7.2025-Production-Redacted-Final.pdf">emails</a> shared with The Daily Wire by the Functional Government Initiative. The watchdog group told The Daily Wire that the emails show a “disturbing picture of DOJ’s eagerness to meet with pro-abortion lobbyists and activists and punish pro-life Americans” in the aftermath of the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
The revelation of the apparent partnership came in a message sent by National Abortion Federation Security Manager Robert Ledogar on January 9, 2023, to the Justice Department requesting a meeting with Kristen Clarke, then the Justice Department&#8217;s Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights. The National Abortion Federation is the professional association for abortionists. 
In the email, Ledogar wrote that both the Justice Department and the FBI had partnered with the DOJ on multiple Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act (FACE) cases. Biden’s crackdown on peaceful pro-life protests landed elderly grandparents, devout Christians, and other pro-life activists in federal prison. 
“Over the past two (2) years that I have been with NAF Security, I have witnessed an amazing relationship with the [National Abortion Federation] Security Director Michelle Davidson and members of the DOJ Civil Rights Division AUSA Sanjay Patel, AUSA Katelyn Smith, AUSA Laura Cowall, and Supervisor AUSA Paige Fitzgerald,” Ledogar wrote. 
Patel headed up the Justice Department’s &#8220;Task Force on Violence Against Reproductive Health Providers,” and  Cowall is the current deputy chief of the Civil Rights Division.

“The past year, NAF Security has been part of several FACE Act investigations, working with [assistant U.S. attorneys] and the FBI in TN, FL, VA, CA, NY, MD, and NC. The guidance from the team in DC has been nothing short of superb,” he added. 
It is unclear which specific FACE Act investigations the National Abortion Federation was involved in, but at least two of the states referenced by Ledogar had major FACE Act prosecutions. 
In Tennessee, six pro-lifers faced over 10 years in prison after they were <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/a-church-meeting-is-now-a-conspiracy-pro-lifers-pray-outside-court-after-conviction-over-peaceful-protest">convicted</a> of violating the FACE Act and conspiring against rights. Three of the two pro-lifers were sentenced to prison over that case, which involved a group of Christians singing and praying inside the hallway of an office building outside an abortion facility. In New York, pro-life mother <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-harris-doj-sending-another-pro-lifer-to-prison-young-mother-hit-with-3-plus-years">Bevelyn Williams</a> and Catholic priest Fidelis Moscinski were sentenced to prison over FACE Act violations. 
“It sounds like NAF and other abortion activists were trying to remove Lady Justice’s blindfold, and Kristen Clarke and Sanjay Patel were allowing it. Action must be taken,” Functional Government Initiative spokesman Roderick Law told The Daily Wire. 
Earlier in the email, Ledogar wrote that the National Abortion Federation attended events like the March for Life, the annual event in Washington, D.C., where tens of thousands gather to urge the nation to protect the unborn, to “identify and witness the extremists that find the need to prevent reproductive health care.”
In response to Ledogar’s email, Clarke asked if the Justice Department&#8217;s Criminal Section had “any concerns” with her meeting with Ledogar. Then-Deputy Chief of the DOJ Civil Rights Division’s criminal section Robert Moossy replied, “CrimeSec has no concerns.” 
The full extent of the partnership between the FBI, DOJ, and National Abortion Federation is not clear from the email. But Law told The Daily Wire that the emails revealed a troubling partnership between pro-abortion activists and the federal government. 
“These emails reveal undue influence of abortion activists on federal law enforcement investigations, and violations of DOJ norms,” he said. “The Biden DOJ Civil Rights Division actions undertaken with outside influence appear to violate the civil rights of the Americans convicted under the FACE Act. “
The Trump Justice Department told The Daily Wire that it had “no comment on the actions of the previous administration.”
“Under the leadership of President Trump and Attorney General Bondi, this Department of Justice no longer weaponizes the use of the FACE Act to unfairly target crisis pregnancy centers, pro-life organizations, and churches,” a department spokesman said. 
Pro-lifers arrested under Biden’s crackdown included defendants like 89-year-old communist concentration camp survivor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ive-paid-the-price-89-year-old-pro-life-activist-speaks-at-sentencing">Eva Edl</a> and 75-year-old Massachusetts grandmother <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bidens-doj-sends-75-year-old-woman-to-prison-for-2-years-for-violating-face-act">Paula Paulette Harlow</a>. It also featured armed FBI raids of the rural Tennessee home of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kidnapped-at-gunpoint-pro-life-activist-testifies-about-harrowing-fbi-raid-of-home">Paul Vaughn</a>, a father of 11, and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/pro-life-father-mark-houck-sues-biden-doj-over-arrest-raid-for-millions">Mark Houck</a>, a father of seven. 
During his first week in office, Trump pardoned nearly two dozen peaceful pro-life activists, including several who were serving lengthy prison sentences. Trump called the prosecutions ridiculous. 
The National Abortion Federation responded to the pardons by saying the move was “disturbing and concerning for the safety of abortion providers and their patients.”
The Trump administration also issued <a href="https://www.justice.gov/media/1386461/dl">new guidance</a> to prosecute the FACE Act only in cases of extreme violence or property damage. Historically, the FACE Act has primarily been used to go after pro-life individuals, even though it is technically supposed to protect crisis pregnancy centers as well.

Parents, educators and community leaders recently attended a Fairfax County School Board meeting in Virginia to ask questions about an <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/virginia-school-system-investigating-claims-staff-arranged-students-abortions-without-parental-consent">alleged coerced abortion case</a> involving two Hispanic minors at Centreville High School.
Centreville High School has a <a href="https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.usnews.com/education/best-high-schools/virginia/districts/fairfax-county-public-schools/centreville-high-school-20462__;!!PxibshUo2Yr_Ta5B!z-3bjZRUUFzVpcjUUXeCnOmT5iO0fbyCiy8sK0gxSSxuJkQ3-e2SK8nKwzsT-qgLY1fjiIEr7WbqqhMTXRP5j4yv$">minority enrollment</a> of 69%, and 32% of its students are economically disadvantaged. For pregnancy matters, the school’s policy states that students are encouraged to discuss their concerns with their parents.
The whistleblower at the school, Zenaida Perez, is an English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher and is originally from Cuba. She immigrated to the United States in 1990 and holds a master’s degree in ESL.
Perez claims that, beginning in 2022, she discovered a social worker was arranging and paying for minor girls to obtain abortions without parental knowledge or consent, which is required in the state of Virginia.
She reportedly brought her concerns to school administrators seven times. But instead of district officials addressing these allegations, Perez says she experienced bullying from administrators and attempts from the school to <a href="https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.fairfaxtimes.com/articles/governor-orders-criminal-probe-into-alleged-abortions-at-centreville-high-school/article_a1c3bc41-9b17-4ac1-8187-70eaa7de4ca3.html__;!!PxibshUo2Yr_Ta5B!z-3bjZRUUFzVpcjUUXeCnOmT5iO0fbyCiy8sK0gxSSxuJkQ3-e2SK8nKwzsT-qgLY1fjiIEr7WbqqhMTXUI6JXVn$">undermine her integrity</a> by falsely accusing her of handing out pregnancy tests to students.
The allegations are deeply troubling given both of the girls involved were underage. Perez says that one student, who was five months pregnant and wanting to keep her baby, said she felt like she “had no choice.” The other girl told Perez she was terrified because her legal guardians did not know about her abortion.
Worried parents in attendance at the school board meeting questioned whether these were isolated incidents or part of a broader pattern of overriding parental rights and disregarding state law.
Most Americans <a href="https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.politico.com/news/2023/05/16/democrats-gop-parental-notification-abortion-laws-00097245__;!!PxibshUo2Yr_Ta5B!z-3bjZRUUFzVpcjUUXeCnOmT5iO0fbyCiy8sK0gxSSxuJkQ3-e2SK8nKwzsT-qgLY1fjiIEr7WbqqhMTXYCxdjTu$">support</a> parental consent for abortion as they recognize that life-and-death decisions should not be made without parental guidance. In Troxel v. Granville, the United States Supreme Court affirmed the fundamental rights of “parents in the care, custody, and control of their children,” and 36 states require parental involvement in abortion-related decisions for minors.
Despite the guarantee of parental rights, Virginia is attempting to strip them from the abortion equation by passing <a href="https://lis.virginia.gov/bill-details/20251/HJ1">House Joint Resolution 1</a>, a constitutional amendment that enshrines intentionally broad &#8220;reproductive freedom&#8221; as a right in the state constitution.
The Centreville High School case also underscores over a half-century of abuse by so-called &#8220;reproductive health care&#8221; advocates targeting minority communities for abortion.
Sadly, abortion peddlers know impoverished minority girls are abortion-vulnerable due to the broader inequalities they face, like racial prejudice, economic disparities, and access to authentic health care. They are also unlikely to resist coercion, especially when it comes from authority figures like school officials.
Their struggles are not just statistics to me, because I lived them. I grew up in the middle of the same kind of hardship after my mother’s <a href="https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://aul.org/author/sarah-zagorskiaul-org/__;!!PxibshUo2Yr_Ta5B!z-3bjZRUUFzVpcjUUXeCnOmT5iO0fbyCiy8sK0gxSSxuJkQ3-e2SK8nKwzsT-qgLY1fjiIEr7WbqqhMTXYscX0kk$">attempted abortion</a> with me. She had come to the U.S. from Honduras, already struggling to raise seven children she couldn’t provide for, trapped in an abusive home. She too believed she had no other choice.
She did defy coercion from her abortion physician in the end, but this kind of resistance is rare. Victims are often threatened, manipulated, and face real barriers like lack of money, absence of support, or fear for their safety.
I am thankful that the Governor Glenn Youngkin has directed the state police to open a criminal investigation into the case. Parental rights should not be usurped, and school employees have no right to hide secret abortions from parents.
Children need protection and parental guidance, especially when faced with an unplanned pregnancy, not forced secrecy by adults attempting to usurp fundamental rights of parents to make decisions regarding the wellbeing of their children.
Girls from marginalized communities, including Hispanic girls from Centreville High School, deserve better than betrayal from people they should trust and cover-ups by school bureaucrats.

This summer marked the end of an era in American Christianity. Within weeks of each other, pastor John MacArthur and psychologist James Dobson, two of the most influential evangelical leaders of the past half-century, passed away. MacArthur died on July 14 at the age of 86, followed by his friend Dobson on August 21 at 89. Their distinct but complementary approaches to faith and culture reshaped churches, families, and politics in profound ways.
Both men launched their ministries into the national spotlight in 1977, debuting radio programs at a time when evangelical broadcasting was entering a golden age. MacArthur’s verse-by-verse exposition of Scripture with &#8220;Grace to You&#8221; and Dobson’s biblical counsel on marriage and parenting with &#8220;Focus on the Family&#8221; would eventually reach tens of millions of households across the globe.
Troy Miller, president of the National Religious Broadcasters, told The Daily Wire that both men not only mastered radio but also foresaw the digital transition. “They were pioneers in adopting MP3s, moving into podcasts, and building digital platforms,” Miller said. “Grace to You and Focus on the Family became models for how to keep Christian teaching at the center of new technologies. And part of the legacy that these two men are going to leave was their insistence on being quality communicators, whatever the medium. Both of them worked very hard at their communication skills, whether it be preaching, speaking at conferences, or on the radio. They set the bar.”
<h3>Two Vocations, One Foundation</h3>
Although their ministries often intersected, MacArthur and Dobson took distinct paths to engaging culture. While the two men held the same positions on life, marriage, and sexuality, MacArthur avoided joining political coalitions, famously declining to sign the Manhattan Declaration, a 2009 statement that affirmed the sanctity of life and traditional marriage, because of his doctrinal differences with some of the statement’s authors.
Dobson, in contrast, leaned into politics. Not only was he one of the Manhattan Declaration’s most prominent signatories, in 1995, he also founded the Family Research Council, a Washington-based policy group that quickly became a central voice in the religious right.
Miller said the difference came down to vocation, not conviction. “John MacArthur understood he was a pastor,” he said. “That was his primary calling in life. And as a shepherd, his deepest desire was for people to understand the Word of God better. His expository preaching and teaching, his commentaries, his books were all meant to bring people closer to God. Dr. Dobson understood he was a psychologist. So he was concerned about culture and where culture was headed as a psychologist. They took these two different approaches, but behind both of them was a biblical foundation.”
Grace to You executive director Phil Johnson, who worked closely with MacArthur for more than 40 years, echoed that assessment. “John was always clear that he wasn’t opposed to political involvement by Christians and that there are Christians who are called to all sorts of vocations, including politics.” 
Dobson used his political vocation to tremendous effect.
Political science professor Hunter Baker, who first met Dobson while working as a religious liberty lobbyist, pointed out that by the late 1990s, the radio host had begun to eclipse the influence of the Moral Majority’s Jerry Falwell and the Christian Coalition’s Pat Robertson, in part, due to his academic credentials.
“Robertson and Falwell were essentially televangelists, and they had their influence. But then comes James Dobson. And a lot of people don&#8217;t remember this, but Dobson had an appointment at the USC Medical School as a child psychologist. He was there for 14 years in a very prestigious sort of position.” That credibility allowed Dobson to gain a hearing with audiences that would be less likely to tune into Robertson’s 700 Club or Falwell’s Old-Time Gospel Hour.
After he grew Focus on the Family into a cultural juggernaut, his mobilization of his Christian listeners helped secure the Republican Party’s transformation into a staunchly pro-life party.
“People want to think the Republican Party has always been this great pro-life party,” Baker said, “but Ronald Reagan was really the first one to decisively move in that direction. Yet his advisors were constantly wanting him to take pro-life rhetoric out of his speeches. And so that&#8217;s the Republican Party that Dobson was dealing with in the 90s. And in the late 1990s, Dobson, in his frustration, said, ‘I&#8217;m going to leave this party and I&#8217;m going to take as many people with me as I can.’ That was a threat that could not be ignored.”

After Dobson took his stand, Baker said, the GOP was forced to commit to the sanctity of life as a key issue. “I would argue that was really decisive. In 2008, even though he was the tremendously popular former mayor of New York City and viewed as a hero of 9/11, Rudy Giuliani got nowhere in that Republican primary process. Why? Because he would not become pro-life in order to run. Then, in 2012, Mitt Romney, who had previously been pro-choice, ran as a pro-life Republican. And I really put all of that at the feet of James Dobson more than anybody else.”
In 2016, Dobson would endorse Donald Trump at a time when few Christian leaders were willing to, helping to shore up Trump’s evangelical support that was vital to winning the election.
<h3>Standing Firm in Cultural Storms</h3>
Though MacArthur resisted joining formal political movements, when politics encroached on the church, he, too, did not hesitate to take a stand.
In 2018, when social justice and critical theory were infiltrating churches and ministries, MacArthur, just as he’d done when he publicly opposed segregation in the 1960s, spoke out. At the time, many nationally known pastors were <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/black-lives-matter-southern-baptist">promoting</a> Black Lives Matter and its <a href="https://x.com/JonathanLeeman/status/1269646035095375874">mission</a>. MacArthur, in contrast, <a href="https://statementonsocialjustice.com/">joined a statement</a> against the Marxist ideology the movement is based on, explicitly rejecting “any teaching that encourages racial groups to view themselves as privileged oppressors or entitled victims of oppression.”

During the COVID-19 pandemic, he <a href="https://www.gracechurch.org/news/posts/2254">openly defied</a> California’s restrictions on in-person worship, telling his congregation, “Whatever this virus is, it does not overpower First Amendment rights.” One of his final public acts came in 2022 when he sent a <a href="https://www.gty.org/blogs/B220928/an-open-letter-to-governor-newsom">scathing letter</a> to Governor Gavin Newsom addressing his use of Scripture to promote abortion:
<blockquote>[Y]ou revealed to the entire nation how thoroughly rebellious against God you are when you sponsored billboards across America promoting the slaughter of children, whom He creates in the womb (Psalm 139:13–16; Isaiah 45:9–12). You further compounded the wickedness of that murderous campaign with a reprehensible act of gross blasphemy, quoting the very words of Jesus from Mark 12:31 as if you could somehow twist His meaning and arrogate His name in favor of butchering unborn infants. You used the name and the words of Christ to promote the credo of Molech (Leviticus 20:1–5). It would be hard to imagine a greater sacrilege… My concern, Governor Newsom, is that your own soul lies in grave, eternal peril.</blockquote>
Johnson said both stances were consistent with MacArthur’s lifelong approach. “He believed the church must keep its focus on the gospel. And the letter to Newsom is a classic example of that because though he&#8217;s addressing a political leader, like John the Baptist did, with a very strong &#8230; gospel appeal.”
<h3>Generational Impact</h3>
Perhaps the clearest measure of MacArthur and Dobson’s legacies lies in the generations they shaped.
MacArthur’s influence can be seen in pulpits across the country. Thousands of pastors trained at the school he founded, The Master’s Seminary, or influenced by his preaching, now carry forward his model of expository preaching. Johnson shared that in his hometown of Tulsa, he once struggled to identify churches that offered sound, biblical preaching. Today, he said, he can point to many who trace their roots to MacArthur’s ministry. “All of them are connected somehow to John MacArthur. And that&#8217;s just one city. I think the whole country has benefited from the men who&#8217;ve been sent out from Master’s Seminary and men who&#8217;ve been influenced by people who&#8217;ve been influenced by John MacArthur.”
Thirty-two-year-old Nashville pastor, Jonny Ardavanis, is one such man. He recalled MacArthur’s advice when asked how to “pick your battles.” MacArthur’s answer was simple: “I pick every battle where gospel clarity and biblical authority are at stake.” Ardavanis said that principle continues to guide his ministry, and he believes the many comparisons to Charles Spurgeon that poured out on social media at news of MacArthur’s death were apt.
“Spurgeon is known as the prince of preachers, and John MacArthur is known for championing the authority and the sufficiency and the inerrancy of God&#8217;s word. That&#8217;s one of the things that John MacArthur really pushed on to the next generation of preachers—open up the Word of God and let it speak. It&#8217;s living and active…Both fought off the liberal drift of their day. Spurgeon was known for the downgrade controversy, where, at the time, the union was drifting in regards to the inerrancy and authority of God&#8217;s word. He stood staunch against that. MacArthur was known for the lordship debate, saying ‘Hey, you can&#8217;t call Jesus your savior without calling him your Lord,’ meaning that it was a rejection of cheap grace. And so both were known for preaching, but for standing firm on issues of doctrinal clarity.”
For Dobson, too, controversy was the cost of conviction, with critics frequently accusing him of turning from family counseling to the culture war. But Baker rejects that assessment. “People say Dobson spoiled his legacy by getting political,” he said, “but what if the issue had been slavery or segregation? We wouldn’t fault someone for standing up against those. Dobson saw abortion in that same category—a fundamental issue of justice.”
As Phil Johnson put it, “[MacArthur and Dobson] were both trying to stand astride the progress of history and say, ‘Wait a minute.’ They saw that a lot of what passed for progress was actually destructive, and they weren’t afraid to fight it.”

<h3>A Shared Legacy</h3>
Since their deaths, many of MacArthur and Dobson’s listeners have expressed a measure of fear over what will happen to American Christianity now that the men they viewed as lions of the faith have gone. But Johnson feels that’s a failure to remember what both men taught.
“I understand,” he said, “because it seems like a string of men who we respect and trust, whose voices we want to hear have died. Yet I comfort myself with Christ&#8217;s words that he&#8217;s going to build his church and the gates of hell are not going to prevail against it. So he&#8217;ll raise up new voices and new people with new courage, people who actually are standing on the shoulders of these men. We lament the loss of their voices, but we also understand that all of them believed in the sovereignty of God, that they didn&#8217;t die by mistake, and that their time is in God&#8217;s hands and their shoes will be filled by someone who maybe we don&#8217;t even know yet that the Lord will raise up.”
Their voices may now be silent, but the pastors filling pulpits trained under MacArthur and the activists inspired by Dobson testify that their influence endures.

An opinion piece in Canada’s <a href="https://www.westernstandard.news/opinion/dur-surely-it-cannot-be-that-babies-born-alive-after-an-abortion-are-left-to-die/64535">Western Standard</a> sheds light on a deeply troubling reality: one in four late-term abortions in Alberta, Canada, resulted in a baby being born alive — and many were left to die without medical care.
According to the Western Standard, the federal agency responsible for compiling and reporting health data across Canada, <a href="https://files.constantcontact.com/f67685af801/45d9acaf-ab1c-4bdd-9ba6-2378fb034aa0.pdf">Canadian Institute for Health Information</a> (CIHI), reported a total of 133 late-term abortions in Alberta in the 2023-2024 year. Based on data analyzed by pro-life researchers and originally raised in the Alberta Legislative Assembly, this should spark serious concern — and immediate action — not only in Canada, but also in the United States.
According to the Canadian data, out of 133 late-term abortion procedures, 28 babies survived the abortion. These weren’t “non-viable tissue,” as the abortion industry so often claims. They were living, breathing infants, whose humanity became undeniable in their cries and movements.
Instead of receiving medical attention, however, they were abandoned and left to die. These aren’t abstract numbers — these are living, breathing children.
I know this reality all too well because I am one of those statistics. I survived an abortion in 1977.
When my birth mom was 31 weeks pregnant, her mother, a prominent nurse at a local hospital, forced her to have an abortion to end my life. For days they injected a saline infusion into the amniotic fluid, a solution designed to poison and scald me until I was delivered dead. On the fifth day, I was born, leading my birth mom to think the abortion was successful. I was then rushed to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) — and, unbeknownst to her, I lived and was placed up for adoption.
At <a href="https://abortionsurvivors.org/">The Abortion Survivors Network,</a> we know firsthand the weight of such statistics — because we are living proof that survival is possible. It isn’t easy being an abortion survivor. What many don’t know is that while we fought to survive physically as babies, that mental fight continues well into adulthood. We shouldn’t have to continue to fight something we defeated as babies.
There are roughly over 10,000 late-term abortions performed annually in the U.S. and that is a conservative estimate. If even 25% resulted in a live birth, as the Alberta data suggests, that would amount to 2,500 infants born alive every year.
Yet in the U.S., each state has different reporting requirements and laws. For example, in Minnesota there is no ban for abortion regardless of what trimester a woman is in, she could be at 35 weeks and decide she no longer wants the child, and she can legally seek an abortion. Aside from states differing on abortion law, there is no nationwide federal requirement to report when a child is born alive during an attempted abortion. And because there are no federal “born alive” reporting standards, there is a lot we don’t know. The pro-abortion crowd may say it &#8220;doesn&#8217;t happen” but how would they know if there is no tracking, reporting and they refuse to listen to survivors and mothers?
This lack of adequate data stems from several factors, including variations in state reporting requirements or perhaps some states choosing not to report abortion data at all.
Opponents of <a href="https://abortionsurvivors.org/fetal-survival-in-second-trimester/">Born Alive protections</a> often argue that surviving infants who are born-alive are often too premature or sick to survive. But that misses the point entirely. Our data show that infants refute the opponent’s arguments about viability — these babies who were diagnosed with fetal anomalies survived being aborted in the second trimester.
Our medical system cares for premature babies, critically ill newborns, and children with disabilities every day — why should it be any different for a baby born alive after an abortion?
The measure of a humane society is not whether every life can be saved, but whether every life is treated with dignity and given a chance.
What we need is strong federal Born Alive legislation that does the following:
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Requires mandatory reporting of all instances where infants survive abortion attempts.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Mandates medical care for every baby born alive, no matter the circumstances of their birth.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Ensures long-term physical and mental health support for both the child and the mother when the abortion procedure fails.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Establishes medical training and legal accountability, so that no infant is left to die without intervention.</li>
</ul>
It’s time to ask: How many babies survive abortions in the U.S., but do not survive the system’s silence?
These children deserve our voice, our laws, and our care.
Every child who survives an abortion deserves to be more than a statistic.
