Women who deliver fully formed babies after taking abortion pills are instructed to flush them down the toilet by abortion advocates, a former Planned Parenthood director said on Thursday. 
Mayra Rodriguez revealed the horrific reality of the abortion pill in <a href="https://stopcoercedabortions.com/videos/mayras-story/">new video</a> testimony set to be released Thursday by the group <a href="https://stopcoercedabortions.com/">Stop Coerced Abortions</a>. In the video, which was previewed by The Daily Wire, Rodriguez discussed her experience getting phone calls from women who took abortion pills. 
“The phone calls that strike me the most were the clients with the abortion pills that will call me in the middle of the night and said, ‘So you guys told me to push a blood clot on the toilet, and I tried to do that, but I didn&#8217;t make it, and it’s not a blood clot, it&#8217;s actually a baby. So what do I do?’” she <a href="https://stopcoercedabortions.com/videos/mayras-story/">said</a>. 
“You’re instructed to tell them to go ahead and grab it and throw it in the toilet, and flush.. and don’t look,” she said in the video. She said the client would respond by saying, ‘But, you told me it was just a blood clot, but I can actually see the hands, the feet, the face.’ And they will be crying.” 
Medication abortions, which are the most common abortion method, are facilitated by a woman taking mifepristone and misoprostol. After a pregnant woman takes mifepristone, the unborn child is cut off from the nutrients it needs to survive and is effectively starved to death. Misoprostol is then taken to induce labor and expel the deceased baby from the mother. 
Rodriguez then discussed how in many states today abortion pills were handed out without any idea how far along the pregnancy was and how sometimes women would be unknowingly given the pills in their drinks. She said that abortion pills were the real “back alley abortions.”

He allegedly ordered the pills from an out-of-state telehealth provider using his estranged wife’s information. 
The video comes as pro-life lawmakers and advocates continue to press the Trump administration to take steps to reverse the regulations implemented by President Joe Biden that allowed abortion pills to be mailed across the country. On Wednesday, Senator Josh Hawley <a href="https://x.com/HawleyMO/status/1998806068974240199">sent</a> a letter to Food and Drug Administrator Marty Makary asking about reports that he was slow-walking a study on the dangers of the abortion pill. 
“The FDA must act to protect children and mothers. By neglecting to review the dangerous drug mifepristone, Dr. MaKary is dismissing the reality that abortion pills kill preborn children and endanger women. We must end mail-order abortion and ban the abortion pill now,&#8221; Rose told The Daily Wire. 
President Trump told The Daily Wire on Wednesday that he was looking into the reports.

Rodriguez, who worked for Planned Parenthood for 17 years, is currently a witness in a <a href="https://stopcoercedabortions.com/#lawsuit">lawsuit</a> against the abortion giant and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz accusing the state of coercing women into having abortions. The suit says that Minnesota&#8217;s abortion laws violate the 14 Amendment rights of mothers and the Equal Protection rights of their unborn children. 
Other harrowing testimony in the video included Rodriguez saying that Planned Parenthood workers were told to not investigate signs of human trafficking and that a baby who survived an abortion was taken into a room designated for “products of conception&#8221; and left to die. She also recounted looking through trash bins for the discarded heads of babies who had been dismembered in surgical abortion procedures. 
“You understand that what you have been selling has never been freedom, not for the mother and not for the child.  What you have been selling, it&#8217;s pain and darkness, and it&#8217;s bloody. And it&#8217;s all about money in realizing that for 17 years, I helped no one. I helped no one, but I destroyed many.”

An Ohio surgeon has been accused of allegedly forcing a patient he got pregnant to take an illegally obtained abortion pill that ended the life of her unborn child.
Dr. Hassan-James Abbas was charged last week after investigators said he ordered an abortion pill using his estranged wife’s information and then made his girlfriend swallow the pill against her will. Abbas, whose medical license was <a href="https://elicense.ohio.gov/oh_verifylicensedetails?pid=a0Rt0000002Wpe3EAC">suspended</a> last month, was indicted on December 4 in Lucas County over the incident.

In recent years, medication abortions have become the most common type of abortion, and abortion pills have flowed into states where they are technically illegal. 
An investigation from the State Medical Board of Ohio <a href="https://dam.assets.ohio.gov/image/upload/med.ohio.gov/formala/57249399.pdf">found</a> that Abbas separated from his wife in October 2024 and began having a sexual relationship with a patient. That patient then told Abbas on December 7 that she was pregnant. 
“You told her that you wanted her to get an abortion, but she stated that she did not want an abortion,” the medical board wrote in a letter to Abbas.
On December 8, Abbas ordered mifepristone and misoprostol from an “out-of-state telemedical abortion provider,” according to state officials. After a pregnant woman takes mifepristone, the unborn child is cut off from the nutrients it needs to survive and is effectively starved to death. Misoprostol is then taken to induce labor and expel the deceased baby from the mother.

According to the medical board, Abbas used his estranged wife’s name, date of birth, and driver’s license number to have the pills shipped to his home. Ten days later, Abbas allegedly tried to force her to take the pills.
“On Dec. 18, Patient 1 woke up at 4:00 a.m. and saw that you were awake. She fell back asleep and then awoke to you physically on top of her. She thought it was a hug but then, holding her down, you took your fingers and forced a crushed powder inside her bottom lip, beside her gums. You continued to hold Patient 1 down. She fought to get away and ran to the kitchen where she called 911. You took her phone and hung up the 911 call,” officials found.

The victim then drove to the hospital, where she reported the incident, and her diagnosis was reported as “vaginal bleeding.” Her baby did not survive. 
Abbas later admitted to ordering the pills during an interview with state officials, but claimed that the woman had agreed to take them, according to the State Medical Board of Ohio. As a result of the suspension, Abbas was placed on administrative leave at the University of Toledo, where he was a surgical resident. 
Pro-life advocates have long warned about the easy availability of the abortion pill and the dangers of the lax mail-order regulations. A Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/how-leftist-networks-flood-red-states-with-risky-abortion-pills-with-no-consequences">investigation</a> found that the pills were being shipped by shady online activist groups into states like Tennessee with no age verification or prescription requirements in the face of state law banning medication abortion.
Some groups, like Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, have called for Food and Drug Administration Marty Makary to be fired over reports that he is slow-walking a review of the safety of mifepristone. The White House stood by Makary on Tuesday, saying that medical reviews take time.

WASHINGTON—The head of the Food and Drug Administration is facing heavy fire from the pro-life community amid reports that he slow-walked a review of abortion drugs promised by Health and Human Services Director Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
The backlash followed a Bloomberg <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-12-08/fda-slow-walking-a-long-awaited-abortion-pill-safety-study">report</a> stating that the FDA had delayed its review of the impacts of abortion drugs, specifically mifepristone — a review promised by both Kennedy and FDA Commissioner Marty Makary. Two people familiar with the matter reportedly told Bloomberg that Makary requested that the review be put off until after the midterm elections.
Health and Human Services Press Secretary Emily Hilliard told The Daily Wire on Tuesday afternoon that the FDA’s comprehensive scientific reviews &#8220;take the time necessary to get the science right,&#8221; adding, &#8220;That is what Dr. Makary is ensuring as part of the Department&#8217;s commitment to gold-standard science and evidence-based reviews.&#8221;
HHS spokesman Andrew Nixon similarly rejected the idea that Makary was acting ideologically, telling Bloomberg the &#8220;assertions that the FDA is slow-walking this review for political purposes are baseless.&#8221;
The White House similarly backing Makary, telling The Daily Wire that Makary is working hard to &#8220;ensure that Americans have the best possible, Gold Standard Science study of mifepristone.&#8221; A White House official also pushed back on the claim that the study is being &#8220;slow walked,&#8221; saying that comprehensive and exhaustive reviews take time.

&#8220;The White House maintains the utmost confidence in Commissioner Makary, whose leadership at the FDA has delivered and continues to deliver one landmark victory for the American people after another, from cracking down on artificial ingredients in our food supply to conducting the first safety review of baby formula in decades,&#8221; Deputy White House Press Secretary Kush Desai said. &#8220;Uninformed attacks against Commissioner Makary from individuals outside the Administration will not change these facts.”
But a number of high-profile pro-life leaders view the matter differently. They insist Kennedy and Makary promised a timely review of the abortion drugs, and, in their view, wasted time means more babies killed through abortion drugs, and more women harmed by their adverse effects.
Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, one of the top pro-life groups in the United States, came out swinging on Tuesday morning with a statement condemning Makary, saying he should be &#8220;fired immediately&#8221; and accusing him of &#8220;undermining&#8221; the Trump-Vance pro-life agenda.
&#8220;The FDA is doing nothing while every single day abortion drugs take the lives of children, put women and girls at serious risk, empower abusers and trample state pro-life laws,&#8221; said the organization&#8217;s president, Marjorie Dannenfelser. &#8220;The FDA needs a new commissioner who will immediately reinstate in-person dispensing as it existed under President Trump’s first term and immediately conduct a comprehensive study.&#8221;
&#8220;Commissioner Makary is severely undermining President Trump and Vice President Vance’s pro-life credentials and their position that states should have the right to enact and enforce pro-life protections,&#8221; she added. &#8220;Makary must go.”
Missouri Senator Josh Hawley (R.), who has been particularly vocal throughout the second Trump administration about the need to examine abortion drugs, also slammed Makary on Tuesday, saying that the Bloomberg report suggests the FDA &#8220;lied&#8221; to him and other members of Congress.
&#8220;FDA needs to stop dithering &amp; reinstate the mifepristone safety guardrails,&#8221; Hawley said. &#8220;Nothing less is acceptable.&#8221;

A pro-life leader who has engaged in conversations with the White House on the topic shared with The Daily Wire that the Tuesday report shattered the confidence of pro-life organizations advocating for the review, confirming inklings of delays that they had already heard.
“I don’t think Senator Hawley is alone in his concerns,&#8221; the leader shared.
Lila Rose, a well-known pro-life activist who heads the pro-life organization Live Action, warned in a <a href="https://x.com/LilaGraceRose/status/1998429557909565477">post</a> on X: &#8220;If Dr Makary will not act as head of the FDA to protect children and mothers he should be fired. Under his watch abortion pills kill preborn children and endanger women and the study he promised is nowhere to be found. End mail order abortion. Ban the abortion pill now!&#8221;
SBA Pro-Life America cites peer-reviewed research that found three-quarters of emergency room visits within 30 days after a woman took abortion drugs were coded as severe or as critical. They also point to studies that found more than one in ten women experience at least one severe adverse event when taking the abortion drugs, and point out that complications can include hemorrhaging, infections, sepsis, and, in some cases, death.
The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/reverse-this-wrong-republicans-push-rfk-to-fix-bidens-abortion-drug-mistakes">reported</a> in late November that 175 Republican lawmakers called on HHS to take “immediate action” to reinstate safety requirements on abortion drugs, highlighting the growing body of evidence showing that the drugs are causing severe and underreported harm to women, asking RFK Jr. and Makary to “at a minimum, reinstate the in-person dispensing requirement for mifepristone.”
Until 2023, the FDA required abortion drugs to be administered to women under a doctor’s supervision. Under President Joe Biden, that and other safety standards were removed, which the Biden White House justified by citing the coronavirus pandemic.
“The need for urgent investigation and review of this drug comes in the wake of the Biden-Harris administration’s egregious action to remove critical safeguards that once applied to abortion drugs, and the FDA’s approval of a new abortion drug generic in September 2025,” wrote the lawmakers, including House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA), and Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN).
“Under your leadership, HHS and FDA can reverse this wrong,” they conclude. “We urge you to immediately reinstate the REMS requiring in-person dispensing of mifepristone and to expedite the promised review by the FDA into the dangers of abortion drugs.”

A leftist federal judge appointed by former President Barack Obama issued an order on Tuesday blocking the Trump administration from cutting funding going toward organizations like Planned Parenthood that end the lives of unborn children. 
U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani <a href="https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/26327752-talwanipppi120225/">ruled</a> that the Department of Health and Human Services cannot cut off Medicaid funding going toward Planned Parenthood. Talwani sided with California and other Democrat-led states that sued to keep Medicaid funding flowing to Planned Parenthood affiliates.
Talwani wrote that HHS failed “to provide clear notice as required by the Spending Clause of the United States Constitution” to the Democrat-led states. Medicaid funding for abortion-promoting entities was cut off for one year by a provision of the GOP-backed “Big, Beautiful Bill.” 
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit previously overturned another <a href="https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/26089904-ppfavkennedyca1091125/">decision</a> from Talwani that sided with Planned Parenthood in a suit over the provision. 
Talwani’s decision was met with criticism from pro-life advocates. 
“The Democrats and their radical activist judges are desperately seeking to thwart the will of the people and bail out the Big Abortion industry, led by Planned Parenthood. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act is federal law passed by Congress and signed by the president,” said SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser.

The federal judge <a href="https://www.fec.gov/data/receipts/individual-contributions/?contributor_name=Indira+Talwani">donated</a> a total of $1,725 to Democrat politicians and the Democratic Party, including $1,000 to former Sen. John Kerry (D-MA), $350 to Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), and $100 to Obama. Talwani also gave another $275 to the Democratic National Committee.
Talwani explained on her Senate questionnaire that she also volunteered to knock on doors for Obama in 2008 and volunteered to canvass on behalf of Elizabeth Warren in 2012. 
She has sided against the Trump administration in other rulings, including decisions to revoke Temporary Protected Status for half a million migrants, and a 2019 ruling said Immigration and Customs Enforcement was allowed to arrest illegal aliens on courthouse grounds in the state of Massachusetts.

Supreme Court justices ranging from conservative Clarence Thomas to liberal Elena Kagan pressed the state of New Jersey on Tuesday about its expansive investigation targeting a Christian pro-life crisis pregnancy center. 
The justices heard arguments about whether a Christian pregnancy center can challenge a wide-ranging subpoena from the New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin that demanded donor information. The case hinges on whether the subpoena had the impact of chilling supporters of  First Choice Women’s Resource Centers and is entitled to relief in federal court. 
During oral arguments on Tuesday, many of the justices appeared skeptical of the arguments made by Sundeep Iyer, a lawyer for the state of New Jersey. 
In one exchange, Justice Thomas pushed Iyer on why the subpoena was issued to First Choice. 
“Did you have complaints that formed the basis of your concern about the fundraising activities here?” Thomas asked.
Iyer responded by saying that they had complaints about crisis pregnancy centers in general, but not specifically First Choice. Thomas then suggested that New Jersey had “no factual basis” for believing that the pregnancy center was deceiving donors and that the subpoena was a “burdensome way to find out whether someone has a confusing website.”

Another key question in the case is whether the subpoena could be considered “chilling” because it had not yet been approved by a court. Justice Kagan, one of the court’s liberals, pushed Iyer on that question. 
“I think here, too, you would make the same argument is that an ordinary person, one of the funders for this organization or for any similar organization, presented with this subpoena, and then told, ‘But don&#8217;t worry, it has to be stamped by a court is not going to take that as very reassuring,’” Kagan said. “Why isn’t that right?”
Other justices, including Brett Kavanaugh, Neil Gorsuch, and John Roberts, were also critical of New Jersey’s interpretation of the subpoena it had issued. 
First Choice has centers in five of New Jersey’s largest cities, including New Brunswick, Newark, Morristown, Montclair, and Jersey City. Services include free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, and options counseling. They also offer a parenting program that provides essential needs such as baby clothes and diapers. 
“This court has long safeguarded the right of association by protecting the membership and donor list of nonprofit organizations like First Choice,” said Alliance Defending Freedom lawyer Erin Hawley. “Yet the attorney general of New Jersey issued a sweeping subpoena, commanding on pain of contempt that First Choice produce donor names, addresses, and phone numbers, so his office could contact and question them. That violates the right of association.”

Pregnancy centers across the country helped a record number of women in 2024 with millions of dollars’ worth of medical and support services as pro-lifers grapple with challenges from aggressive Democratic officials, according to a new report. 
The <a href="https://lozierinstitute.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/A-Legacy-of-Life-Love-2025-Rising-to-the-Occasion-with-Unwavering-Care.pdf">report found</a> that 3,799,816 men and women were served across 2,775 pregnancy resource centers in 2024. Services provided by the pregnancy centers were estimated to be valued at around $452,475,801. At the same time, an estimated 12,330 unborn babies were being aborted per month through pills sent by “shield laws” enacted in blue states to protect left-wing activists. 
“As the landscape of abortion in America following the Dobbs decision has rapidly changed, pregnancy centers continue to offer steadfast, professional care to women and families,” said Charlotte Lozier Institute executive director Karen Czarnecki.​ “It’s imperative that pregnancy centers continue to increase the availability of services—walking alongside women, men and families to provide love, education and support so they can courageously choose life.”
The report was compiled by the Charlotte Lozier Institute, Care Net, Heartbeat International, National Institute of Family and Life Advocates, and Option Ultrasound Program by Focus on the Family. 
It found that the pregnancy resource centers served over a million new clients in 2024 and provided over $116 million in material support, a 48% increase from 2022. Material support includes providing families with items such as diapers, baby wipes, car seats, strollers, clothing, cribs, and other essentials. 
Eight out of ten pregnancy centers provide free or low-cost medical services, and over 10,000 medical professionals work at the facilities, according to the report.

Around one-quarter of the clinics provided abortion pill reversal services. The service “provides a chance to rescue the pregnancy soon after the ingestion of the first abortion drug through the administration of the hormone progesterone,” according to the report. As of June 2025, over 7,000 babies had been saved thanks to the abortion pill reversal, according to statistics included in the report. 
At the same time, pro-lifers are dealing with a surge in mail-order abortions as activists and abortionists ship pills into states where medication abortions are illegal. States like New York have passed shield laws to protect abortionists from being punished if they ship abortion pills into states like Texas or Tennessee. Pro-life lawmakers and activists have struggled to contain the spread of these pills and have urged the Trump administration to take action to crack down on FDA regulations that allow for abortion pills to be sent through the mail.
Pregnancy resource centers that have promoted the abortion reversal pill protocol have found themselves under scrutiny from Democratic officials in blue states like New York, New Jersey, California, and Illinois. 
The Supreme Court is set to hear a case on Wednesday on whether a Christian pregnancy resource center in New Jersey can challenge an expansive subpoena from New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin requesting documentation on the center’s donor base.
New York Attorney General Letitia James <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/new-york-attorney-general-hit-with-another-lawsuit-over-her-targeting-of-pro-life-groups">sued</a> 11 pregnancy resource centers and the group Heartbeat International for their support of the abortion pill reversal protocol. In California, pregnancy centers were <a href="https://www.thomasmoresociety.org/news/court-compels-acog-to-turn-over-documents-and-communications-in-ag-bontas-lawsuit-to-silence-pro-life-pregnancy-centers">also sued</a> for their promotion of the abortion pill reversal.
Other Democrat lawmakers have opposed pregnancy centers because they don&#8217;t encourage or promote abortion. In 2022, Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/democrat-senator-happy-about-getting-google-to-suppress-crisis-pregnancy-centers">called</a> for pregnancy centers to be shuttered entirely. &#8220;Shut them down all around the country,” Warren said.
Included in the report were testimonials from women who were assisted by pregnancy resource centers. One of the stories included was that of Aagust, a Florida woman who found out she was pregnant in nursing school and took an abortion pill. After regretting the decision, she was able to get in contact with the Mosaic Sexual Health Clinic, a pregnancy resource center, that helped her save her baby. She ended up delivering the baby and naming him Carter Jay.
&#8220;He is the smartest, most active little boy ever and I love him so much,&#8221; she said. &#8220;God used Mosaic to save my baby and I am forever grateful.&#8221;

The New Jersey attorney general’s battle against a Christian pregnancy resource center will take center stage at the Supreme Court next week as Democrat officials ramp up the lawfare against pro-life organizations. 
On December 2, the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments about whether First Choice Women’s Resource Centers, a Christian pregnancy center, can fight back in federal court against New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin’s attempt to gain access to its donor lists and promotion of the abortion pill reversal. Platkin issued a wide-ranging subpoena targeting the crisis pregnancy center as part of an investigation into whether they had lied about their services. 
“If our attorney general can bully us, it can happen in other states that promote abortion. It&#8217;s our hope that our efforts will result in protection for pregnancy centers across the nation. There is such a great need in New Jersey for women to consider all of their pregnancy options and not think that abortion is their only option,” Aimee Huber, the executive director of First Choice Women’s Resource Centers, said in a press call. 
First Choice has centers in five of New Jersey’s largest cities, including New Brunswick, Newark, Morristown, Montclair, and Jersey City. Services include free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, and options counseling. They also offer a parenting program that provides essential needs such as baby clothes and diapers. Since 1985, they have aided over 36,000 women. 
Represented by the Alliance Defending Freedom, First Choice sued Platkin after he subpoenaed them in November 2023 for ten years of documents related to its promotion of the abortion pill reversal, information they provided to clients and donors, personnel records, and copies of every advertisement the centers had run. 
“There were no allegations of wrongdoing,” Huber said. “It was simply a fishing expedition. Receiving the subpoena was completely overwhelming. We are a small nonprofit, and the idea of compiling so much information was completely daunting.”
In June 2025, the Supreme Court agreed to hear the case after First Choice’s lawsuit hit snags at the federal district court and appeals court levels. The official question granted by the court is as follows: “Whether a federal suit challenging a subpoena issued by a state attorney general is justiciable if a state court has not yet issued an order directing the recipient to comply with the subpoena.”
Responding to the Supreme Court’s decision to hear the case, Platkin said that the subpoena he issued was lawful and accused First Choice of hiding information about its operations. 
“First Choice—a crisis pregnancy center operating in New Jersey—has for years refused to answer questions about their operations in New Jersey and the potential misrepresentations they have been making, including about reproductive healthcare,” Platkin said. “I remain committed to enforcing our fraud laws without fear or favor against anyone who would harm or violate the rights of our residents, no matter how powerful the entity on the other side.”

Alliance Defending Freedom lawyer Lincoln Wilson said that the central question before the high court was whether First Choice had the right to challenge Platkin’s subpoena in federal court. 
Fundamentally, though, Wilson said the case was about First Choice’s associational rights. 
“Any organization, right or left, no matter which side of the aisle you&#8217;re on, there needs to be the ability to keep this information confidential,” he said. “And if the government can just go ahead on a pretextual theory and demand that you turn over the names of your donors, then everyone in this country is less free.”
The Trump administration is backing First Choice with the Justice Department filing an <a href="https://www.justice.gov/crt/media/1412671/dl?inline">amicus brief</a> arguing that First Choice should be allowed to pursue its federal lawsuit. 
“A party has standing to challenge a subpoena, and such a challenge is ripe, if the party faces a credible threat that the government will bring proceedings to enforce the subpoena. Because petitioner satisfies that test, this suit is justiciable,” the Justice Department wrote.  
Pregnancy centers across the country that support vulnerable women in blue states like California, New York, and Illinois have all faced legal challenges for promoting the abortion pill reversal protocol. 
The protocol is a method <a href="https://lozierinstitute.org/abortion-pill-reversal-a-record-of-safety-and-efficacy/">backed</a> by pro-life organizations where a woman can take a prescribed dose of bioidentical progesterone to potentially reverse the effects of Mifepristone and save an unborn child if she changes her mind at the last minute about going through with the abortion.
New Jersey has enshrined abortion into the state’s constitution and has no pro-life protections in place. Huber said that the expansive abortion laws created an environment where anyone offering an alternative would be targeted. 
“Our state has done everything they could to make New Jersey a sanctuary state for abortion,” she said. “Since pregnancy centers like ours do not perform or refer for abortion, we are targets for a government that disagrees with our views.”

A conservative group announced Wednesday that it plans to spend tens of millions of dollars to help maintain pro-life majorities in Congress.
Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America and its partner political action committee, Women Speak Out, will spend $80 million to fund canvassing, digital advertising, voter contact mail, and early voting campaigns in key Senate and House races across the country. The group said it hopes to make at least 4.5 million visits across the country with a focus on battleground races in Iowa, Georgia, Michigan, and North Carolina. 
“Republicans simply cannot win without their pro-life base, especially in midterm elections when overall turnout drops. Pro-life voters are the heart and soul of the Republican Party,” said Marjorie Dannenfelser, the president of SBA Pro-Life America. “Our mission is to fire up pro-life Americans who do not consistently vote in midterms and convince persuadable voters to reject the Democrats’ extreme all-trimester abortion agenda.”
Pro-life voters were a significant part of the coalition that helped President Donald Trump win his surprising victory in 2016 after he promised to appoint Supreme Court justices who would overturn Roe v. Wade. 
During the 2024 presidential election, SBA Pro-Life America said it contacted 10 million voters across eight battleground states. 
Sen. Tim Sheehy, a Republican who defeated incumbent Democrat Jon Tester in Montana last year, praised SBA&#8217;s efforts to support his campaign.
“SBA was there from the beginning,” he said. “They knocked over 100,000 doors in our state with 600,000 voters. That’s a massive amount. And the most important thing they did was shatter the narrative that we were somehow radicals because we wanted to protect the lives of unborn children.”
As a result of the election victories in 2024, Republicans in Congress were able to defund Planned Parenthood for a year in Trump’s signature “Big, Beautiful Bill.”
In recent years, Democrats have also campaigned heavily on abortion. Before the 2022 midterm elections, many Democratic candidates focused their messaging on the overturning of Roe. Former Vice President Kamala Harris embraced the same strategy during her presidential run last year and urged the Senate to overturn the filibuster to pass laws codifying a nationwide right to abortion.

Americans are finding common ground on an unexpected issue, abortion drugs. <a href="https://sbaprolife.org/newsroom/press-releases/breaking-7-in-10-voters-want-to-roll-back-biden-covid-abortion-drug-policy-reinstate-in-person-doctor-visits">New polling</a> shows that rolling back dangerous Biden-era policies on the drugs is not only supported by a majority of Americans, but such support transcends traditional party divides and the “pro-life” versus “pro-choice” label.
Seven in 10 likely voters <a href="https://sbaprolife.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/National-Voter-Survey-Executive-Summary-.pdf">approve</a> of reinstating safeguards around the drugs by requiring a doctor visit for abortion drug prescriptions. Even more revealing, the majority of voters who were surveyed for the poll identify as “pro-choice,” representing a possible shift in how voters view the repercussions of the drugs for women’s health and safety.
Another 70% of respondents support doctors screening for and reporting possible abuse and coercion before prescribing the drugs, a policy that could have prevented the tragedy <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/texas-attorney-poisoned-pregnant-wife-abortion-medication-sentenced-18-rcna138065">Catherine Herring</a> experienced firsthand when her husband purchased lethal abortion drugs online and tried to end her pregnancy by lacing her drinks.
Catherine’s abuser was enabled by the Biden Administration’s removal of abortion drug safeguards, which eliminated in-person dispensing requirements for abortion pills under the Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) program. As a result, it’s easier than ever for would-be abusers and coercers to obtain the pills via mail. The FDA’s recent approval of a new generic version of the abortion drug mifepristone only compounds these risks for women by making the drugs even easier to access.
The response has been swift, with groups urging the FDA to rescind their approval and restore policies that protect women’s health and safety while affirming life.
The dangers of abortion drugs have never been more apparent. A recent <a href="https://eppc.org/news/largest-ever-study-of-abortion-pill-reveals-shocking-number-of-adverse-events/">study</a> from the Ethics and Public Policy Center found that serious adverse events from the abortion drug are approximately 22 times more frequent than the FDA currently reports, with over one in ten women experiencing sepsis, infection, hemorrhaging, or other harmful side-effects.
A peer-reviewed <a href="https://www.mdpi.com/2673-6284/14/2/39">article</a> from the Charlotte Lozier Institute also debunked the popular claim that the abortion pill is “safer than Tylenol.” Just recently, the American Association of Pro-Life OBGYNs (AAPLOG) <a href="https://aaplogaction.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/2025.08.20-One-Pager-Clostridial-Infection-after-Mifepristone.pdf">sounded the alarm</a> on a dangerous sepsis-like infection that can occur after a pregnant woman takes mifepristone.
Even Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. publicly <a href="https://news.bloomberglaw.com/health-law-and-business/rfk-jr-says-biden-twisted-the-data-on-abortion-pill-safety">admitted</a> that the Biden Administration had “twisted the data to bury one of the safety signals, a very high safety signal, around 11 percent” related to abortion drugs. Yet the FDA significantly expanded access to mifepristone with the approval of the new generic pill, rather than pausing to examine the current evidence of harm or complete the agency’s <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/rfk-fda-abortion-pill-mifepristone-safety-review/">promised report</a> on the safety of the drug.
In any other area of medicine, such findings would have triggered alarm, inquiry, and reform. In the absence of any such immediate action, the pro-life movement, state attorneys general, and Congress are standing in the gap to protect women.
A <a href="https://www.liveaction.org/news/coalition-hhs-fda-pull-abortion-pill-approval">coalition</a> of advocacy and policy organizations – led by Live Action with support from Students for Life, Concerned Women for America, Heartbeat International, Advancing American Freedom, AAPLOG, the Life Leadership Conference, and several others – joined with state leaders to demand a reversal of the FDA&#8217;s decision to approve the new generic version of mifepristone.
Attorney generals from twenty-two states, led by Alabama’s Steve Marshall, <a href="https://www.alabamaag.gov/attorney-general-steve-marshall-condemns-the-fdas-illegal-and-dangerous-decision-to-abandon-restrictions-on-abortion-inducing-drugs/#:~:text=%E2%80%9CIn%20direct%20contravention%20of%20longstanding,terms%20for%20%E2%80%9Cprioritizing%20.%20.%20.">denounced</a> the FDA’s “illegal and dangerous” rollback of in-person dispensing rules. Fifteen more have <a href="https://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/5427732-republican-states-target-abortion/">called on Congress</a> to confront “shield laws” that allow doctors to mail abortion drugs into pro-life states while circumventing state laws.
Earlier this month, Senator Lindsey Graham led 51 senators in sending a <a href="https://www.lgraham.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/2025/10/51-republican-senators-urge-fda-to-continue-to-stand-for-life-reevaluate-generic-abortion-pill-approval">joint letter</a> to Secretary Kennedy and FDA Commissioner Marty Makary, urging them to halt the rollout of the new generic drug and reinstate the safety rules that once governed its use.
Senate HELP Committee Chair Bill Cassidy followed with an <a href="https://sbaprolife.org/newsroom/press-releases/help-committee-chairman-cassidy-leads-critical-oversight-effort-on-abortion-drugs">oversight letter</a> pressing the same officials to explain how the agency could expand access while simultaneously pledging to “review the ongoing data.” Cassidy warned that the FDA’s decision “fails to mitigate the risks to women that have been identified and fails to protect women from the coercive use of the drug.”
The central claim is simple: women’s health and safety are on the line. The FDA and HHS must act to restore crucial safeguards.
Pro-life groups and elected officials echo the voices of women who have been harmed directly by abortion drugs. Women like <a href="https://eppc.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/1-Complaint-8.11.2025_compressed.pdf">Liana Davis</a>, whose hot chocolate was laced with abortion drugs by her boyfriend, resulting in a miscarriage; <a href="https://www.liveaction.org/news/victim-coerced-mail-order-abortion-suing-fda">Rosalie Markezich,</a> who was coerced by her boyfriend into taking mail-order abortion pills; and <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/texas-attorney-poisoned-pregnant-wife-abortion-medication-sentenced-18-rcna138065">Catherine Herring,</a> who unknowingly consumed abortion drugs slipped into her drink by her husband.
Their heartbreaking stories shine a light on the true costs of uncontrolled abortion drugs. Americans understand those costs too, and a majority want to see crucial safeguards restored. The FDA and HHS must respond and act before more women are harmed.

What began as a peaceful, student-organized memorial in Manchester, England, to honor Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk and promote free speech on campus quickly took a turn when protesters disrupted the event, and police were forced to intervene.
The University of Manchester&#8217;s Pro-Life Society had spent weeks preparing for the gathering, which featured guest speaker Lois Miller, a well-known pro-life advocate. The group hoped the event would serve as a respectful tribute to Kirk’s legacy and an opportunity for open discussion about the value of human life and the importance of free speech.
However, midway through the event, tensions escalated when protesters surrounded the attendees. According to Inge Botha, president of the pro-life group, officers intervened after about ten minutes of mounting pressure.
“When the mob was almost on top of us, the police stepped in,” Botha said. “They formed a barrier between us and the protesters after someone pushed over a portrait of Charlie Kirk.”
Botha added that members of the society flagged posts earlier that day from the university’s Feminist Society and Leftist Society, encouraging students to protest the memorial. According to guest speaker Lois Miller’s X page, the protesters outnumbered the pro-life attendees “ten to one” and brought speakers to drown out Miller’s remarks.
Botha was shocked by protesters and their ability to forget that Kirk was a husband and a father with two children.
&#8220;No matter who it is, you’d hope people could show some empathy,&#8221; Botha said.
One protester showed up in Charlie&#8217;s white &#8220;Freedom&#8221; t-shirt with red paint on his neck and shirt.
She added, &#8220;It&#8217;s incredibly concerning how comfortable they are with death and murder.&#8221;
Botha explained that her group’s mission is rooted in defending human life at all stages.
“We support human life from its beginning to its end,” she said. “We stand against abortion, euthanasia, murder, and assassination.” She hopes to make a difference in abortion and admires Kirk as an avid pro-lifer.
Guest speaker Lois Miller was invited for her extensive research and advocacy within the pro-life movement. In a recent article, titled “The Elephant in the Room Is Abortion,” Miller addressed Britain&#8217;s birthrate crisis, citing statistics that show 28% of Britain’s Generation Z were aborted.
“Abortion does not just end lives,” Miller wrote. “It leaves lasting scars on the women who undergo it. Physical complications, mental health struggles, and silent grief ripple through our healthcare system and society.”
Monday’s disruption was not the first time Manchester’s Pro-Life Group faced hostility on campus.
“At our first event, protesters followed us out of the building and down the street,” Botha recalled. “At another, one of our members was followed, and police had to intervene to make sure she could get home safely.”
Despite repeated confrontations, Botha says she remains undeterred and committed to the group’s mission.
“It shows how important open dialogue is,” she said, noting that past events have sparked meaningful conversations with individuals who approached afterward to ask questions and engage respectfully.
The Manchester Pro-Life Group plans to continue to host events that promote discussion around the sanctity of life and the importance of protecting free speech.

An elderly pro-life Catholic sidewalk counselor who was brutally beaten outside of a Baltimore Planned Parenthood wants the Trump administration to intervene after his attacker was given a slap on the wrist earlier this year. 
Mark Crosby, 75, sent a letter to the Justice Department on Thursday requesting that they “consider prosecution” of the 28-year-old man who <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/exclusive-full-video-shows-lead-up-to-brutal-attack-of-elderly-pro-lifers-by-man-who-dodged-prison?author=Leif+Le+Mahieu&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=EXCLUSIVE%3A+Full+Video+Shows+Lead-Up+To+Brutal+Attack+Of+Elderly+Pro-Lifers+By+Man+Who+Dodged+Prison">assaulted</a> him and 84-year-old Richard Schaefer outside of Planned Parenthood in downtown Baltimore on May 26, 2023. The letter, obtained by The Daily Wire, suggests that their attacker, Patrick Brice, could face federal charges for targeting them based on their religious beliefs. 
“The attack is shocking for its violence and brutality and was captured on surveillance video,” Terrell Roberts, a lawyer for Crosby, wrote to Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon. “He was [at Planned Parenthood] with another counselor, Dick Schaefer, age 84. They hand out rosaries and religious literature to women and offer religiously based counseling with the goal of preserving the life of the unborn.&#8221;
Footage of the May 26 assault shows Brice getting into an argument with Schaefer before tackling the octogenarian into a potted plant and knocking him out. When Crosby runs up to check on Schaefer, Brice throws him to the ground before punching and kicking him in the head. 
As a result of the attack, Crosby has photophobia, which is extreme sensitivity to bright lights.

In August, Brice escaped jail time after Baltimore City Circuit Judge Yvette Bryan sentenced him to just one year of home detention and three years of probation. State prosecutors requested a total of 10 years in prison, asking that the judge send a “strong message of deterrence” against attacking people in broad daylight over their political and religious views.
Brice also dodged a more serious first-degree assault charge in both a jury trial and a bench trial. Bryan acquitted Brice of the charge because she claimed Crosby provoked him by coming to Schaefer&#8217;s aid.
&#8220;Finding Brice not guilty of a violent felony in the face of overwhelming evidence and showing extraordinary leniency by imposing a sentencing without any imprisonment in the face of the prosecution&#8217;s request for a 10-year sentence of imprisonment was a gross miscarriage of justice,&#8221; Roberts wrote.
Crosby accuses Brice of ripping off a crucifix he was wearing around his neck at the time of the attack. During sentencing, Brice disputed this and claimed that he had no animosity toward Christians.

A pro-life organization is fighting back after a leftist group ripped off its logo to promote so-called “abortion rights.”
40 Days for Life President Shawn Carney told The Daily Wire that the New Mexico group Pro Choice Las Cruces was illegally using his organization’s logo to push abortion. Carney said that he was prepared to sue the pro-abortion group if it did not stop using its proprietary material immediately.
In a pair of letters obtained by The Daily Wire, the 40 Days for Life legal team demanded that Pro Choice Las Cruces immediately cease using its logo. Those letters came after Pro Choice Las Cruces started mimicking the logo of 40 Days for Life on its <a href="https://www.facebook.com/people/Womens-March-Las-Cruces/61569465891530/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Facebook page</a> in September, an action that Carney called a “clear violation” of copyright law.
The pro-abortion group took the logo, added an illustration of a woman’s reproductive system, and changed the words from “40 Days for Life” to “40 Days for Choice.” The group also changed the motto from “The Beginning of the End of Abortion” to “The Beginning of the End of Oppresion [sic].”

Las Cruces is located at a key spot near the Texas border and is a popular destination for abortion tourism, Carney said. Neighboring states like Texas have enacted pro-life laws, pushing many to travel out of state to end the lives of their unborn children. New Mexico has no protections for the unborn in place.
40 Days for Life sent its first cease-and-desist letter on October 10, and another letter on Friday, warning the organization that it may be violating copyright law.
The letters were sent to Hailey Walker, a leftist activist linked to the Women’s March in Las Cruces. That organization shares a Facebook page with Pro Choice Las Cruces. According to Carney, the group responded to the first letter by refusing to stop using the logo.
“Given your response to our notice to cease and desist, it is clear your actions are willful and intentional. Pro Choice Las Cruces/Women&#8217;s March Las Cruces stole 40 Days for Life font, logo, name, colors and tagline in an intentional way to confuse the public,” a letter sent Friday by 40 Days for Life said.
Carney said that other leftist groups have co-opted their messages in the past and that his organization is prepared for further legal action. He said they would be ready to sue Walker “if need be.”
He also noted that instead of oppressing women, as Pro Choice Las Cruces suggests, pro-life activists support women by offering alternatives to abortion. 40 Days for Life often helps women considering abortions find free medical care alternatives.
“They feel unbelievable gratitude that we were out there and that we were willing to help them on what was a very hard day for them, and a day they never wanted to be in that position to be driving in for an abortion, but they were, and we didn’t judge them. We didn’t oppress them. We helped them and helped them with tangible alternatives,” Carney said.
In contrast, he said that the “left offers nothing with abortion” and feels threatened by the alternatives offered by groups like his.
Pro Choice Las Cruces has until October 20 to take down the logo or face further action from 40 Days for Life.
