Don’t trust the Ivy League to produce well-educated students.
The eight institutions that make up the Ivy League are among the most selective in the United States, and their graduates occupy the elite echelons of American life. Parents often spend $80,000 or more per year for their children to attend Princeton, Harvard, Yale, Penn, Columbia, Brown, Cornell, or Dartmouth and have an opportunity to punch a ticket to the top.
But what really happens there? Do graduates really join “the fellowship of educated men and women,” as Harvard used to assert each year at its commencement ceremony?
Some do. Many don’t.
Like most American colleges, most of the Ivies grant signiﬁcant latitude in the undergraduate curriculum. (Columbia is the only exception.) Students not only choose a major — from as many as ninety options—but they also choose the content of their core curriculum. Core curricula historically guaranteed consistency for undergraduates, reflecting a wise faculty’s determination of the knowledge and academic skills most worth having. Today, however, most general education requirements in the Ivies are so general — some arts here, some sciences there—that they are simply another opportunity for undirected self-actualization. Hundreds of course options can fulﬁll each “requirement.”
These options, moreover, vary tremendously — from serious, rigorous, and open to challenge, to whimsical, activist, and tendentious. This variation is greatest in the humanities and social sciences. For every course seeking to develop a broader or deeper understanding of man, nature, and the cosmos, there are dozens preoccupied with pop culture, identity politics, progressive activism, or hyper-specialization.

Writing requirements are even worse. Putatively about writing, such courses indulge the moral and political conceits of their instructors. At the other extreme, most courses that meet science requirements actually teach science, even though light courses are available for slackers. (At Cornell, the course discussing Disney films to learn about animals is an exception, and Columbia still offers Physics for Poets.)
A generation ago, the critique of Ivy League curricula was that a student could graduate without being required to take any Shakespeare, American history, or Western civilization. That complaint remains well-grounded. Today, the situation is worse: Can a serious student find even one core course on Shakespeare or America worth taking?
By not providing a content-rich core curriculum — a set of required courses in the arts and sciences — but instead allowing students to choose from a wide range of courses to fulﬁll vague distribution requirements, most of the Ivies risk having students graduate with what the American Council of Trustees and Alumni calls a “thin and patchy education, with no guarantee that they have mastered a core set of facts or skills.” Absent strong curricular requirements, universities cannot guarantee that students “learn what they need to know to be informed citizens, effective workers, and lifelong learners.”
Fortunately, a strong education remains available to Ivy students in most areas of general education. They will have to work for it and get wise advice. But by far, Ivy League students are offered, and thus receive, a truly substandard education by any reasonable measure. Dante or Cardi B? Every educated man and woman ought to know the difference.

An event at Princeton University on April 7 featuring the former Prime Minister of Israel, Naftali Bennett, was disrupted and later forced to end by anti-Israel student-activists, who, while masked, then targeted the attendees with antisemitic verbal attacks as they left the event. But Princeton has still not punished the student-activists.
“First came chants about ‘genocide,’” The Wall Street Journal <a href="https://www.wsj.com/opinion/princeton-naftali-bennett-protest-israel-hamas-christopher-eisgruber-1a8f203e?gaa_at=eafs&amp;gaa_n=ASWzDAirg9z9ydWMIOEDmp4dTLRiKljtvi6ACet8f06hhiKLAQW6YzDarXYT3fXV0bE%3D&amp;gaa_ts=6837034c&amp;gaa_sig=lWHn6lI0Qgoi7Z6neLaf8m0i3ZbqF0FaEmSQCqINz3w4lpqJ8Hx76uykVzZQ5shmHbqtO_ZFexclffWQA25jkQ%3D%3D">reported</a>. “Then the hall’s fire alarm was triggered. ‘Outside the building, about 200 pro-Palestine protesters chanted, screamed and banged on drums,’ the Daily Princetonian said. Two students wrote&#8230;to President Christopher Eisgruber that people in the crowd yelled ‘go back to Europe,’ and that agitators aimed ‘triangle imagery at Jewish students, in reference to the Hamas symbol used to target Western enemies.’”
Christopher L. Eisgruber <a href="https://paw.princeton.edu/article/princeton-opens-investigation-after-protesters-disrupt-event-former-israeli-prime-minister">stated</a> that he was “appalled at reports of antisemitic language directed by demonstrators at members of our community after” the event, and added that &#8220;the University is investigating and will pursue disciplinary measures as appropriate, to the extent any members of the Princeton University community are implicated.”
Princeton wrote in a letter to Danielle Shapiro, a May graduate who serves on the board of Princetonians for Free Speech (PFS), that no students would be punished. Shapiro <a href="https://www.khq.com/princeton-fails-to-enforce-its-rules-on-free-speech-antisemitism/article_aced6d66-0e1a-5f7b-a522-feedb65c5e9c.html">noted</a>, “The university says it cannot punish people who were shouting antisemitic slurs because it cannot identify them since it was dark and they were wearing masks. Yet the university says nothing about implementing a policy banning masks in certain situations, even though I specifically requested it do so and even though many universities are doing so, including the entire University of California system.”

“We searched carefully and could find no public announcement, no press release, nor anything on the University’s website about the investigation’s results,” Princetonians for Free Speech <a href="https://princetoniansforfreespeech.org/blogs/news/princeton-declines-to-punish-students-who-disrupted-event-and-shouted-antisemitic-slurs-in-violation-of-rules">stated</a>. “The only mention of it we can find anywhere is a short story in the Princeton Alumni Weekly on May 21. It appears that on that date, <a href="https://paw.princeton.edu/sites/default/files/2025-05/Statement%20About%20Bennett%20Investigation%20May%2021.pdf">Princeton sent an email summary of the report to PAW</a>, and possibly to a few others. But this was, as Ms. Shapiro notes in her article, after she had indicated to Princeton officials that she might make the letter public. Is Princeton trying to hide this report and, with the end of the school year, duck the entire issue?”
“The May 21 statement underplays what happened, as is shown on videos,” PFS pointed out. “For example, the statement adds gratuitously: ‘Several witnesses expressed their view that the individuals who made the antisemitic remarks outside the venue were likely unaffiliated with the University.; Really? First, they were not ‘remarks;’ they were screaming insults of the vilest kind. Second, this is total speculation, not fact, and probably from people who had a self-interest in leaving that impression. We do not know because the report does not say who they were. The University says it cannot identify anyone because it was dark and protesters were wearing masks, and yet cites this speculation. How could the ‘witnesses’ know?”

Princeton Won’t Punish Antisemitic Students Who Disrupted Event, Hurled Verbal Attacks At Jews

An Iranian regime insider who once operated at the heart of Tehran’s global assassination network is now collecting a paycheck at Princeton and walking freely on American soil.
His name is <a href="https://www.nysun.com/article/move-to-deport-terror-supporting-professors-ignites-fresh-scrutiny-of-former-iranian-diplomat-accused-of-advancing-terror-whos-still-at-princeton" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hossein Mousavian</a> — and his presence is a direct insult to every American and Israeli who has lost a loved one to Iranian terror. His past affiliations and statements pose direct threats to national security and the moral consistency of American immigration policy.
Today, Mousavian is a Middle East Security and Nuclear Policy Specialist at the Princeton Program on Science and Global Security. But from 1990 to 1997, <a href="https://www.meforum.org/german-think-tank-under-fire-for-hosting-former" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mousavian</a> served as Iran’s ambassador to Germany.
During this period, the infamous 1992 <a href="https://www.rferl.org/a/1079258.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mykonos</a> restaurant assassinations occurred in Berlin, where four Iranian dissidents were murdered. A German court later concluded that the killings were ordered by Iran&#8217;s Special Affairs Committee, implicating the highest levels of the Iranian government.
While Mousavian was not formally charged, the court found that the Iranian embassy in Bonn, which Mousavian led at the time, was identified by the court as a hub for intelligence operations. Testimony from former Iranian intelligence operative <a href="https://www.iranintl.com/en/202403076212" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Abolghasem Mesbahi</a> asserted that Mousavian was allegedly involved in “most of the crimes that took place in Europe” during his tenure.
More recently, <a href="https://jcpa.org/iranian-official-reveals-how-we-eliminated-regime-opponents-in-europe/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mohsen Rafighdoost</a> — a founding figure of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps — stated in an interview that the regime was directly involved in the Mykonos killings and suggested Mousavian likely had knowledge of, or was possibly connected to, the broader Iranian assassination program in Europe.
These public confessions don’t just implicate Mousavian in past crimes: they raise alarms about who American institutions are empowering today. The question is no longer what he did, but why he still has access to American students, media platforms, and policy circles.
Rafighdoost also <a href="https://www.iranintl.com/en/202503113972" target="_blank" rel="noopener">admitted</a> in a separate video interview that the Iranian regime orchestrated assassinations of dissidents across Europe in the 1980s and 1990s. He detailed how the IRGC operated dedicated hit squads and even collaborated with external groups like the Basque separatist movement ETA to carry out these killings. His candid confession sheds light on the Iranian government&#8217;s systematic elimination of opposition figures overseas — a program that overlapped with Mousavian’s diplomatic tenure in Europe.
But Mousavian’s troubling record extends beyond history books. In recent <a href="https://x.com/hmousavian/status/1841131157829636119" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Persian-language remarks</a>, he has labeled critics of the Islamic Republic as ‘traitors’ — a term the regime has long used to justify execution, torture, or imprisonment.
Particularly disturbing is his public <a href="https://fararu.com/fa/news/782445/%D9%85%D9%86%D8%A7%D8%B8%D8%B1%D9%87-%D8%AF%D9%88-%D8%AF%DB%8C%D9%BE%D9%84%D9%85%D8%A7%D8%AA-%D9%BE%DB%8C%D8%B4%DB%8C%D9%86-%D8%A7%DB%8C%D8%B1%D8%A7%D9%86-%D9%88-%D8%A2%D9%85%D8%B1%DB%8C%DA%A9%D8%A7-%D8%AE%D8%B5%D9%88%D9%85%D8%AA-%DB%B4%DB%B4-%D8%B3%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%87-%D8%A7%DB%8C%D8%B1%D8%A7%D9%86-%D9%80-%D8%A2%D9%85%D8%B1%DB%8C%DA%A9%D8%A7-%D8%A8%D8%A7%DB%8C%D8%AF-%D9%BE%D8%A7%DB%8C%D8%A7%D9%86-%DB%8C%D8%A7%D8%A8%D8%AF" target="_blank" rel="noopener">attack</a> on religious minorities. Following a controversial 2024 speech at <a href="https://mes.dartmouth.edu/news/2024/09/israel-and-iran-future-middle-east" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dartmouth College</a>, he <a href="https://x.com/hmousavian/status/1841131157829636119" target="_blank" rel="noopener">blamed</a> a “Zionist journalist,” the “Israeli lobby,” and “traitorous Iranians, including Baha’is,” for protesting his presence. The <a href="https://www.hrw.org/news/2024/04/01/iran-persecution-bahais" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Baha’i faith</a> is brutally persecuted by the regime — its members are routinely jailed, tortured, or executed simply for practicing their beliefs. By lumping them in with “traitors,” Mousavian echoed the exact language the Islamic Republic uses before unleashing crackdowns. Imagine a former Nazi official labeling Jews as enemies from an American podium. That’s the level of moral offense here.
When Mousavian spoke at Dartmouth, <a href="https://www.thedartmouth.com/article/2024/10/dickey-center-hosts-talk-on-israel-and-iran" target="_blank" rel="noopener">local police</a> were deployed to secure the venue. This resulted in American taxpayer dollars being used to secure a public event featuring a former senior official from a regime known not only for targeting dissidents in Europe but also for threatening American lives and interests.
Rather than addressing these legitimate <a href="https://www.change.org/p/petition-cancel-seyed-hossein-mousavian-s-talk-at-dartmouth-college" target="_blank" rel="noopener">concerns</a>, Dartmouth officials defended Mousavian&#8217;s participation. <a href="https://www.meforum.org/fwi/fwi-news/anti-regime-activists-challenge-former-high-ranking-iranian-official-at-dartmouth-college" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Iranian-American</a> <a href="https://x.com/Aidin_FreeIran/status/1840894243612545401?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1840894243612545401%7Ctwgr%5Eac590ccb23d20aa96ee7e499237a4c7247e0f290%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.meforum.org%2Ffwi%2Ffwi-news%2Fanti-regime-activists-challenge-former-high-ranking-iranian-official-at-dartmouth-college" target="_blank" rel="noopener">activists</a> raised direct questions about his complicity in the regime’s crimes, but they were shut down. Event moderator Victoria Holt redirected the discussion, while Professor Ezzedine Fishere, another former diplomat, dismissed concerns by saying, “I am in the business of training students, not convincing you.”
The elite’s eagerness to protect regime operatives while dismissing victims of Iran’s terror machine reveals a dangerous rot. For Iranian dissidents, the Jewish community, and anyone who values liberty and truth, the message is clear: your trauma takes a back seat to regime diplomacy
This moment demands action. <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/world/cruz-urges-princeton-take-action-over-professor-accused-pro-iran-allegiances-citing-risk-students" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Senator Ted Cruz</a> (R-TX) recently called for Mousavian’s deportation on national security grounds, echoing broader bipartisan concerns about regime affiliates residing in the United States. President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have recently enacted policies aimed precisely at individuals like <a href="https://www.hstoday.us/featured/perspective-the-u-s-must-investigate-iranian-regime-networks-inside-the-homeland/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mousavian</a> — foreign nationals supportive of terrorism or espousing hateful rhetoric.
Mousavian checks both boxes. He has publicly downplayed or defended groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah, and frequently attributes criticism directed at him to “Zionist lobbies” and “traitors.” Even if Mousavian holds a permanent resident status, historical precedent exists for revoking permanent residency or deporting individuals linked to hostile regimes or involved in activities detrimental to national security.
For example, in <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2004/09/25/us/national-briefing-midwest-ohio-imam-loses-citizenship-over-terrorist.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2004</a>, the United States government deported Imam Fawaz Damra, a longtime Cleveland-area imam, stripping him of his permanent residency after it was revealed he concealed his ties and support for terrorist groups when obtaining residency. Damra’s deportation sets a clear precedent: permanent residency is not an unconditional shield against accountability when national security concerns are at stake.
Mousavian’s presence demands immediate investigation by the Department of Homeland Security and revocation of any visa or green card under anti-terrorism provisions. The Trump administration has the tools — and the moral duty — to act. The safety of Americans and the integrity of our immigration system depend on it.
Hossein Mousavian’s continued residence and academic appointment in the United States stand in direct contradiction to the country’s values and security interests. Given his history, statements, and the regime’s confirmed record of extraterritorial assassinations, his presence is indefensible. This is not about academic freedom or political dissent. It’s about protecting America from the enablers of terrorism.
The time has come to ask not only why he is here — but why he was ever allowed to stay.

A Princeton University professor said that the administration removed portraits of the chairmen of &#8220;a scientific department&#8221; simply because they were all white men.
Speaking to intrepid investigative journalist Christopher Rufo, who has been examining racism at prestigious universities, the unnamed professor <a href="https://www.city-journal.org/article/princeton-university-president-christopher-eisgruber-anti-semitism-racial-discrimination" target="_blank" rel="noopener">discussed</a> antisemitism and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies at Princeton.
“Anti-Semitism is really a symptom of a deeper malaise at Princeton, which is that the university decided to go woke and — as President [Christopher L.] Eisgruber wrote in the last few months of the first Trump administration — declare that we were ‘systemically racist,’” the professor stated. “But if we have been systemically racist, it’s been against whites, Jews, Asians, and Indians, in favor of other demographics. We’ve always been told that we have to give special treatment to women and certain demographic minorities.&#8221;
The professor recalled that, as a “search officer” with access to demographic data, he was informed that 70% of the faculty members were white. He said he and other search officers were told by the department that the faculty had to reflect the composition of the class, which the department curated itself. “Having engineered the class a certain way, they wanted then to engineer the faculty,” he said.
“Last year, Eisgruber was on an American Enterprise Institute panel, in conversation with Ben Sasse,” the professor noted. “Sasse asked him, ‘Other than Robbie George, who are the conservatives on campus?’ Eisgruber couldn’t come up with a single name, and people started laughing. &#8230; Certainly, if you’re a conservative student or a Christian or a Zionist, many are afraid and won’t talk.”
Asked by Rufo which people Eisgruber had rewarded, the professor replied:

All the people who’ve been signing these anti-Israel petitions and going to the encampments are being considered for the top administrative positions. For instance, there’s a woman named Ruha Benjamin who has just been given the MacArthur Award. She led a group of students to take over a building here and then exited the building a minute before the police showed up. And she’s on the web page of the university as the “genius,” the most wonderful, incredible academic. In truth, she is the person who led the crazy stuff about Israel and Hamas on campus.

“A scientific department had displayed photographs of all the previous department chairs for the last 70 years—all white men, many of them Jewish,” the professor told Rufo. “One day, all the pictures disappeared. The administration had removed them from the wall because someone found it objectionable that all these white men should be staring down at them. And yet, a number of those men were key in bringing black students to Princeton in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. But none of that history matters: it’s just a bunch of white faces, so they removed all the photographs, and no one objected—no one.&#8221;
“I want this university severely punished for its unlawful behavior,” the professor declared. “I want discovery; I want all the emails to come out that will make it very evident that this university was engaged in illegal discrimination. I want President Eisgruber subpoenaed before Congress to have to account for not only anti-Semitism, but for DEI and for the ‘systemic racism’ arguments that he’s made. I want him to be publicly put on the stand. That’s what ultimately will deeply embarrass this university.”

Professor Says Princeton University Removed Portraits Of Dept Chairmen Because They Were White Men

Princeton University said on Tuesday that the Trump administration has stopped the funding for dozens of research grants as President Donald Trump pushes Ivy League schools to do more to crack down on anti-Semitism and Left-wing radicalism.
Princeton&#8217;s president, Chris Eisgruber, wrote in an email to staff and students that the university received notices from government agencies, including the Energy Department, Defense Department, and NASA, that &#8220;several dozen&#8221; research grants were losing funding, The Wall Street Journal <a href="https://www.wsj.com/us-news/education/princeton-trump-administration-research-grant-funding-cut-2d49fdf9" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
Princeton did not specify how much money the federal government was cutting off, but according to <a href="https://x.com/reaganreese_/status/1906862605773468078" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Caller</a> — which cited an administration official — the pause affects $210 million in funding.
Eisgruber wrote in the email, “The full rationale for this action is not yet clear.”
&#8220;Princeton University will comply with the law. We are committed to fighting antisemitism and all forms of discrimination, and we will cooperate with the government in combating antisemitism,&#8221; Eisgruber <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/04/01/us/trump-federal-grants-princeton.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">added</a>. &#8220;Princeton will also vigorously defend academic freedom and the due process rights of this university.&#8221;
In the spring semester of 2024, student protesters set up a &#8220;Gaza Solidarity Encampment&#8221; at Princeton to protest Israel&#8217;s response to Hamas&#8217; October 7, 2023, terrorist attack. A few weeks after the terrorist attack on Israel, a group of students on Princeton&#8217;s campus was captured on video <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/princeton-students-chant-call-for-murdering-jews" target="_blank" rel="noopener">chanting</a>, &#8220;Long live the intifada.&#8221; The Biden administration launched an investigation into Princeton last year following a civil rights complaint alleging the university failed to defend Jewish students from anti-Semitism on campus.
Princeton marks the fourth Ivy League school where the Trump administration is either reviewing or putting a pause on federal funding after anti-Israel protests popped up on numerous college campuses last year. Former Princeton football player Martin &#8216;Tiger&#8217; Bech was among the 15 killed in a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-no-one-should-jump-to-conclusions-about-isis-terror-attack" target="_blank" rel="noopener">terror attack</a> early Wednesday morning when a 42-year-old man plowed a truck into pedestrians celebrating the New Year in New Orleans&#8217; French Quarter.
Bech, 27, died in the hospital shortly after the attack unfolded. Law enforcement identified the suspect as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a U.S. citizen who had lived in Texas and died after a shootout with police. Investigators said that Jabbar had an ISIS flag in his vehicle and posted social media videos indicating he was inspired by the Islamic terror group. 
While authorities have not revealed the victims, family members have come forward to mourn their loved ones. 
&#8220;Love you always brother! You inspired me everyday now you get to be with me in every moment. I got this family T, don’t worry. This is for us,” Bech’s younger brother Jack <a href="https://x.com/jackbech7/status/1874538314138542472" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a> on social media. 
Bech played wide receiver for the Princeton Tigers from 2016 to 2018. He had 53 receptions for 825 yards and three touchdowns, earned honors as a kick returner, and won two Ivy League championships. 
&#8220;There was no more appropriate nickname of a Princeton player I coached,&#8221; Princeton Coach Bob Surace <a href="https://goprincetontigers.com/news/2025/1/1/princeton-football-mourns-the-loss-of-tiger-bech-21" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>.  &#8220;He was a &#8216;Tiger&#8217; in every way &#8211; a ferocious competitor with endless energy, a beloved teammate and a caring friend. Another victim was identified as Kareem Badawi, a student at the University of Alabama. 
“I learned today that Kareem Badawi, one of our students at The University of Alabama, was killed in the terrorist attack in New Orleans,” University President Stuart Bell said. “I grieve alongside family and friends of Kareem in their heartbreaking loss.”
Nikyra Dedeaux, an 18-year-old from Mississippi who wanted to become a nurse, was also killed, according to her mother. 
&#8220;I just want to see my baby,&#8221; Melissa Dedeaux <a href="https://www.wwltv.com/article/news/crime/bourbon-street-attack/mississippi-teen-killed-bourbon-street-attack-sweet-loving/289-dac7297e-5373-4192-9b4c-55cd5d93fd09" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> local Louisiana news outlets. &#8220;She was the sweetest person. She would give you anything, anything.&#8221;

New Orleans Coroner Dwight McKenna <a href="https://x.com/OmarJimenez/status/1874585773284134952" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> Wednesday that the full list of victims would be released once autopsies were completed and every family was notified.  
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic events that unfolded in the French Quarter,” he said. “Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with the victims, their families, and everyone affected.”

A Princeton University astrophysicist believes that with the help of a new telescope in Chile, she and her team can confirm exactly what happened after the Big Bang that created the known universe 13.8 billion years ago.
Scientists have theorized that by observing the cosmic microwave background (CMB), the remnant of the light left after the explosion of the Big Bang, they could determine how the universe has been inflating ever since.
But as astrophysicist Jo Dunkley explained, scientists can “extrapolate backwards and infer what could have happened to produce the patterns we see in the CMB &#8230; But there are other scenarios you could imagine that could produce those patterns.”
Dunkley <a href="applewebdata://D263A0C7-C432-4711-B075-41D8C46F1E12/v">told</a> New Scientist’s Jonathan O’Callaghan, “Before we had any of the particles we are familiar with now – protons, neutrons, light and so on – we think the universe was permeated by a different kind of energy. We call it the inflaton field, but we really don’t know exactly what it was. The energy stored in that field drove this exponentially fast growth of space at the beginning of time. It did so until the inflaton field decayed and we started forming the particles we know and the universe evolved into the form we have now.”

Dunkley said she and her colleagues have been using the Atacama Cosmology Telescope (ACT) in Chile, but the new telescopes at the Simons Observatory will make the job more accurate. She explained that they want to observe gravitational waves —ripples in the fabric of space-time that “squeeze and stretch space in a particular way; they squeeze in one direction and stretch in another” to see how the light of the CMB is polarized.
“We’re looking for this very, very faint polarized signal in the CMB that could only come from gravitational waves,” she stated.
But because it’s a tiny signal, and the scientists have to peer through the Milky Way to see it and light from other sources in the galaxy complicates matters as well as water vapor in the atmosphere, the capacity to use both the Simons Observatory in Chile and the BICEP-Keck telescopes at the South Pole could prove crucial to getting a better view because conditions at the two telescopes are different.
“We’re looking for variations in what we can think of as the temperature of the CMB that are billionths of a fraction of a degree,” Dunkley said. “The polarized signal is a very subtle departure from something uniform. The Simons Observatory will help because it has tens of thousands of detectors, which is 10 times more than previous generations of telescopes such as the ACT.”
“There’s so much richness of information in the CMB,” Dunkley enthused. “I remember a few years ago people thinking we had measured the CMB, and that was it, done. Then we realized how much there is to know, not only in its polarization, but as a backlight through the whole universe. It just keeps producing more exciting stuff.”

In late June 2024, around 40 Iranian-Germans protested against Hossein Mousavian and his relations with the Körber Foundation in Hamburg. This think tank, founded by Kurt A. Körber, a member of the Nazi party who worked for Universelle-Werke J. C. Müller &amp; Co. and advanced Hitler’s war goals, had hosted Mousavian at a May breakfast event, but after a tide of criticism, the think tank deleted its X post. Körber embedded four photographs of people at the breakfast, including pictures from Mousavian. 
The Munich Security Conference and the Körber-Stiftung selected 7 people who work for the Islamic Republic’s Foreign Ministry as international participants to be their Munich Young Leaders fellowship in recent years.
What do these protesters have against Mousavian, a “Middle East specialist” at Princeton University? He can be followed in four cases: the consolidation of the ideology of terror, the supervisor of a terror project (24 killed) in Europe in the ’90s, the agent of the regime’s normalization while advancing its nuclear program, and his financial corruption (convicted) in Iran.
<h4>Propagandist</h4>
By just focusing on Mousavian&#8217;s activities in Resalat Daily between 1985 and 1990, I can show who he really is. During this period, he rarely wrote a piece under his name in this propaganda outlet, and the authors were mainly members of the Qom Seminary Instructors Association, members of the Mu`talfa Party, and people close to these hardliner groups. Other than these terror groups’ members, the rest of the content was published anonymously, with a pseudonym or under the title of the cultural or political section. These people were all followers of Khomeini who was anti-Semitic, anti-Baha&#8217;i, anti-women, and anti-LGBTQ.
<h4>Terror Regime, Terrorist Officials</h4>
In many cases, people look for evidence and documents for the problems in front of their eyes. We don&#8217;t need to provide any evidence for Mousavian to be an agent of the Islamist regime other than his positions in the last 45 years. He was and still is the agent of the Islamist terrorist regime. Even in Princeton, he has been promoting the regime’s nuclear agenda.
Considering the regime&#8217;s terrorist, brutal, and oppressive policies towards the Iranian people, the agency of this regime at high levels automatically turns a person into a criminal. Without contributions in complicity and cover-ups, people cannot be in the regime&#8217;s high-ranking positions. This alone is enough reason to fire Mousavian from Princeton. He is in Princeton to whitewash the crimes of the regime against humanity, and not to promote security and world peace.
In an outlet where Mousavian was on the editorial board (under the title of &#8220;central council&#8221; instead of the editorial board), this propaganda outlet was continuously promoting and praising terror and terrorism. Note that Fada’iyan (Devotees) of Islam, whose assassination actions were commemorated by this outlet, was a terrorist organization that assassinated two prime ministers. It also attempted to assassinate the Shah but failed. The Devotees of Islam also assassinated secular intellectuals such as Ahmad Kasravi. The Qom Seminary Instructors Association was the financier of terror activities and the provider of religious justifications for terror. Khomeini also supported these groups financially and ideologically.

During February and March of 1989, Resalat in one month, advertised and promoted Khomeini&#8217;s issuance of a fatwa on the killing of Salman Rushdie with big headlines every day. The editorials on 27 Bahman and 9 Esfand of 1367 (February 16 and 28, 1989, both probably under pseudonyms) fully defended the issuance of this fatwa, which is the outlet&#8217;s position and therefore Hossein Mousavian&#8217;s.
Contrary to popular belief, terrorism does not only happen when a group or individual shoots a political opponent, writer, or religious dissenter or presses the button to detonate a bomb. Terrorism is triggered when a religious scholar or political leader issues an order to eliminate the opposition or dissenters. The rest of the story is about the execution. The case of Salman Rushdie and his assassination four decades after Khomeini&#8217;s fatwa is a good example.
In this sense, Mousavian&#8217;s role in launching the Resalat and his responsibility in the Tehran Times, as a propagandist, promoter, and legitimizer of terrorism, is even more important than his role in the assassinations of dissidents in the 90s in Europe. Resalat has been a propaganda mouthpiece and not a newspaper in a free country. In a propaganda outlet, the materials and authors are selected in advance by the &#8220;central council&#8221; and every published article, piece, or news is aimed at advancing an agenda, plan, or narrative. Therefore, every member of the central council &#8211; like communist bulletins &#8211; is responsible for what is published in the outlet, and the responsibility of any article is not solely on the shoulders of the author. In a propaganda bulletin, the content is not just filtered through the council but what goes into the filter is pre-determined and ordered based on a specific political agenda.
Mousavian was the editor or chief editor (in some issues) of Resalat Daily which has been the pioneer of the narratives of elimination, purge, and executions. One of the outlet’s policies for which Mousavian is responsible as a member of its central council was the promotion of terrorism whether praising Suleiman Khater’s action, an Egyptian terrorist (January 28, 1986) or calling Prime Minister Mansour’s assassination a “revolutionary execution” (Badamchian’s piece, March 2, 1986; commemoration of the assassination day, January 20, 1986).
This outlet calls every assassination of the Pahlavi regime’s officials a “revolutionary execution.” During Mousavian’s work, the outlet arranged interviews with every terrorist or theoretician of terrorism who entered Iran, such as Ahmad Ra’if, one of the ideologues of the Muslim Brotherhood (February 16, 1987). Resalat constantly glorified Muslim terrorists inside and outside the country and still does so. This is its policy.
The following methods are used in the contents of this newspaper: dividing the world into those who dominate (non-Muslim) and those who are dominated (Muslim) in numerous op-eds and articles, attributing every issue during the Pahlavi dynasty to Western foreigners such as removing hijab, Bahaism, and homosexuality. According to the newspaper op-eds, America and Europe are responsible for starting the Iran-Iraq war, and the West is racist.
<h4>Underlying Method</h4>
Resalat Daily had a very clever way to promote terrorism and mass murder. This outlet prepared the mentality of the society for killing without informing. For example, on the subject of the 1988 massacre in prisons, it did not even provide a single line of news about this story during which 3,000-5,000 people were executed; but by publishing a series of articles under the title &#8220;Ghost of the Monster&#8221; subtitled &#8220;A narrative of the crimes of the hypocrite terrorist network” (an episode of it on August 6, 1988 under the pseudonym M-K, which is a security agent) tries to justify and legitimize the killing of members of the MEK organization.
Mousavi Ardebili, the head of the Supreme Court and imam of Tehran&#8217;s Friday Prayer, gave a speech about the necessity of removing and executing the opponents. Resalat published his anti-due process words in large fonts without any criticism. It is unlikely that the editors of the newspaper, including Hossein Mousavian, were unaware of the executions of thousands of opponents in prisons. In this sense, he is responsible for hiding the story. Resalat published Ardebili&#8217;s words on August 6, 1988. As a judiciary official, he asks the judicial authorities: &#8220;Why don&#8217;t you try and execute the MEK members?&#8221; He immediately puts aside the re-trial of the prisoners who have already been convicted in the kangaroo courts and says: &#8220;They don&#8217;t deserve a trial. Their sentence is death.&#8221;
In publishing these words, Mousavian did not question Friday Prayer leaders’ and the judicial officials’ statements in an editorial note. The editorial should have asked why the government executes previously convicted people without a trial. In the final days of the executions, Ali Khamenei said: &#8220;The Islamic Republic remains arrogant and will become stronger and more stable day by day,&#8221; (Resalat, August 27, 1988). In this case, no one in the newspaper asked him how the Islamic Republic is getting stronger day by day while it is busy killing.
<h4>Appeasing Appointment</h4>
The appointment of Hossein Mousavi at Princeton University violates all academic principles in the world. Beyond allocating an academic position without public ad and competition and considering academic qualifications, Mousavian has been placed in his position with the advice of politicians and financiers only because of his dark political records to be a deal maker in the nuclear agreement. This placement violated the academic and administrative independence of universities. Princeton&#8217;s decision-makers most likely agreed to such a ridiculous act only to gain more access to federal public resources or to increase their influence through the federal government channels. Mousavian did not have a scientific record before being hired, and his role was mostly as an intermediary for his respective government and advancing its interests.

Princeton University and Yale University both saw their percentages of Asian American freshman dip this fall despite the Supreme Court eliminating <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/affirmative-action" target="_blank" rel="noopener">affirmative action</a> in college admissions last year.
At Princeton, the percentage of Asian American freshmen dropped two percentage points from 26% last year to 24% this year.
At Yale, the decline was bigger at six percentage points, from 30% last year to 24% this year.
At both Ive Leagues, the share of black freshmen remained the same &#8212; 9% at Princeton and 14% at Yale.
Last year in June, the Supreme Court ruled against affirmative action in college admissions, declaring race-based admissions at Harvard University and the University of North Carolina unconstitutional and in violation of the Civil Rights Act.
Students for Fair Admissions, the group that sued over affirmative action, had pointed to the high test scores of Asian American and white applicants who were rejected.
The high court&#8217;s decision has had a profound effect on the admissions processes at universities across the country.

At the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, (MIT) the percentage of black students plummeted in the wake of the court&#8217;s decision. The incoming freshman class this fall is only 5% black, down from an average of 13% in recent years, MIT <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/mits-share-of-black-students-plummets-after-affirmative-action-struck-down" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> last month.
Amherst College, a historic liberal arts in Massachusetts, also <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-09-04/yale-university-sees-drop-in-share-of-asian-american-freshmen?utm_source=twitter&amp;cmpid=socialflow-twitter-businessweek&amp;utm_content=businessweek&amp;utm_campaign=socialflow-organic&amp;utm_medium=social" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that its percentage of black freshman students fell to 9% from 19% this year. Hispanic students also declined to 10% from 14% last year. Meanwhile, the percentage of white and Asian American students increased slightly.
At the same time, universities have scrambled to find other ways to diversify their student bodies.
Yale and Princeton both pointed to more students receiving financial aid. At Yale, more than 58% of students are now getting need-based financial aid.
“I am especially excited that the Class of 2028 includes the greatest representation of first-generation and low-income students on record, and that Yale College now enrolls more veterans than it has in many decades,” <a href="https://news.yale.edu/2024/09/04/new-undergraduates-begin-their-yale-college-journey" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> Jeremiah Quinlan, Yale’s dean of undergraduate admissions and financial aid.
“At Princeton we make big bets on human talent from all sectors of society,” Princeton Provost Jennifer Rexford <a href="https://www.princeton.edu/news/2024/03/29/princeton-trustees-set-2024-25-budget-increasing-spending-undergraduate-financial#:~:text=Between%20fiscal%20years%202022%20and,numbers%20of%20students%20receiving%20support." target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>.
Some schools moved away from considering standardized test scores as the argument that standardized testing harms minority students picked up steam. One Ivy League, Columbia University, permanently scrapped its standardized test requirement.
Some schools are also <a href="https://apnews.com/article/supreme-court-affirmative-action-college-admissions-1d37af28939a533551cff45fa577ceb0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">considering</a> requiring more essays for admissions to get a better idea of a student’s background, while others plan to recruit students from minority areas or admit more students transferring from community colleges.
A majority of Americans, 62%, oppose race-based college admissions, <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/us/most-americans-think-college-admissions-should-not-consider-race-reutersipsos-2023-02-15/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to a Reuters poll last year.

A far-Left activist at <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/princeton-university" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Princeton University</a> cried on a bullhorn on Wednesday over a hunger strike that she and others decided to do in a desperate attempt to get the school to take actions that they want related to Israel and pro-Hamas protesters on campus.
The students, who showed signs of cracking after only a few days of participating in the hunger strike, banged on drums and chanted: &#8220;The people united will never be defeated!&#8221;
&#8220;This is absolutely unfair,&#8221; said a female activist who was wearing a Palestinian keffiyeh. &#8220;My peers and I, we are starving, we are physically exhausted. I&#8217;m quite literally shaking right now, as you can see.&#8221;
&#8220;We are both cold and hot at the same time,&#8221; she cried. &#8220;We are all immunocompromised. And based off the university&#8217;s meeting yesterday with some of our bargaining team, they would love to continue physically weakening us because they can&#8217;t stand to say no to unjust murder.&#8221;
She claimed that she &#8220;truly&#8221; does &#8220;not feel like I am doing anything special. This is my choice and I would not spend my birthday doing anything other than being here and standing in solidarity with you all, and standing in solidarity with our siblings and innocent people in Gaza.&#8221;

Retired Army General Mark Milley — who most recently served as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff — has accepted teaching positions at two prestigious universities.
According to a <a href="https://www.axios.com/2024/02/13/retired-mark-milley-georgetown-princeton-faculties" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> from Axios, Milley will be instructing students at both Princeton University — his own alma mater — and Georgetown University in subjects relating to national security.
Milley attended Princeton, where he graduated in 1980 and received his commission through the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program. His return to the school will see him acting as a Charles and Marie Robertson visiting professor through the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA).
According to a statement from Princeton University, Milley &#8220;will serve as a guest lecturer, meet with students, engage with alumni and faculty, and provide input on the School&#8217;s Security Studies Ph.D. program.&#8221;
Dean Amaney Jamal praised the decision, saying that Milley&#8217;s &#8220;experience in the nation&#8217;s capital as well as abroad in conflict zones&#8221; would provide excellent context for his students in the coming year. His appointment at Princeton is set to expire in June of 2025.
