I have spent a lot of time covering psychiatric drugs like SSRIs. The problem with these drugs is that they&#8217;re incredibly potent, potentially dangerous, and they effect the mind in ways that the doctors prescribing them don&#8217;t fully understand. And all of these problems are compounded by the fact that they are increasingly easy to obtain. In fact, as the problems with psychiatric medications become more evident, the barriers to access them only become lower. It seems that things should be working the opposite way. But that&#8217;s how it goes now. If you want to get a highly potent, dangerous, mind altering drug, you can. In fact, you probably don&#8217;t even have to leave your house.
This trend is becoming more and more common with an ever increasing array of drugs. They are very easy to get, there is very little oversight, and you don&#8217;t have to leave your house to obtain them. This is a major problem that will require all kinds of legislation to fix. But there are some steps we can, and must, take immediately to address the problem of fraudulent, life-altering drugs being handed out in large quantities to young people, basically on demand. One of those steps is to defund some of the largest distributors of these life-altering drugs, which is something that should&#8217;ve happened a long time ago.
If we can’t ban these people from operating outright, then at the very least, we should stop giving them money and tax breaks. What&#8217;s happening is a genuine crisis — and it&#8217;s not limited to SSRIs. It extends to a whole host of other drugs as well. And a new investigation by Live Action, the pro-life nonprofit, has just brought renewed urgency to this crisis, and how completely out-of-control the problem really is.
Here is part of an undercover investigation by Live Action, where they contacted various Planned Parenthood locations posing as a 16-year-old girl. And in these conversations, Live Action&#8217;s 16-year-old girl requests &#8220;gender-affirming care,&#8221; including cross-sex hormones. And Planned Parenthood responds by saying this is completely fine. They say they&#8217;ll do it virtually, over Zoom or something like that. And then they suggest that, if the girl goes to a clinic in-person, she doesn&#8217;t need to be accompanied by her mother in the examination room. Watch:

The full <a href="https://www.liveaction.org/case-for-defunding-planned-parenthood/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.liveaction.org/case-for-defunding-planned-parenthood/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1746900283197000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0BHIgVXNdhMvnIkjrauySg">report</a> was just released this week. To put things in context, Planned Parenthood is the leading abortion mill in the country. They commit roughly 40% of the abortion in this country, all by themselves. And they receive something like $700 million from taxpayers every year.

So what exactly is that money buying, aside from abortions and irreversible drugs for children? According to Live Action, citing various investigations, it&#8217;s allowing Planned Parenthood to traffic in human body parts, commit all kinds of health code and privacy violations, and engage in anti-white racism at all levels of its operation. The entire report is available online if you want to view it, and you should. I will simply highlight this one section in particular:
<blockquote>At least 40,000 patients went to Planned Parenthood for &#8216;gender affirming care&#8217; in 2023 alone, a number that has risen tenfold since 2017. The largest proportion, about 40 percent, were 18-to-22-year-olds.</blockquote>
According to Live Action, 45 out of Planned Parenthood&#8217;s 49 affiliated facilities provide this so-called &#8220;care,&#8221; and Planned Parenthood is now the second-largest provider of so-called &#8220;gender-affirming hormones&#8221; in the United States.
The report continues:
<blockquote>Planned Parenthood targets minors for gender-affirming care by disseminating pro-transgender ideology online and in schools. It has also stated that it would like to expand its gender-affirming care to a greater number of minors.</blockquote>
The report cites a video from Planned Parenthood, in which the organization claims that puberty blockers are, &#8220;like a stop sign&#8221; that pauses puberty without any potential side-effects. Planned Parenthood also provides sex education materials to elementary schools, according to this report, including, &#8220;information about puberty blockers and graphics of pubic hair art.&#8221;
In some cases, Live Action notes that Planned Parenthood was caught referring a 14-year-old undercover actor for &#8220;gender-affirming&#8221; treatments at another organization, so that he could hide his so-called &#8220;transition&#8221; from his parents. It goes on and on. Every page of this report is extremely difficult to read, and it&#8217;s all very damning. Even if you put all of the baby murder to the side — which you can&#8217;t, because that&#8217;s still obviously the most evil thing this organization does — but even if you did somehow forget about that, Planned Parenthood still remains one of the most evil organizations in the country. Their explicit goal is to permanently alter the lives of young people with surgeries and hormones, long before they&#8217;re able to consent to anything like this. And as the report outlines, half the time, they don&#8217;t even follow their own protocols, as limited as they are.
What&#8217;s left unanswered, in all of this, is why Planned Parenthood still receives hundreds of millions of dollars in federal funding. Republicans control Congress and the White House. So why the hell are we still sending so much money to these butchers? To be clear, as Live Action&#8217;s report outlines, you probably don&#8217;t even need legislation to stop this funding. There are dozens of violations listed in this report, which documents Planned Parenthood&#8217;s issues with patient privacy, fraud, trafficking of fetal remains, and so on. All of these problems, by themselves, are grounds for an executive order shutting down the funding immediately. But that hasn&#8217;t happened yet. And Congress hasn&#8217;t done anything either. Nor have they done anything about the mass prescription of SSRIs.
To be clear, Planned Parenthood should be forcible shut down, by law. The whole organization should be banned and all of its executives and employees at every level of the company should be put on trial for crimes against humanity. There should be a Nuremberg for Planned Parenthood executives. But that is not likely to happen any time soon. There are a lot of things that should happen but won&#8217;t, and this is number one on that list. So defunding them is the bare minimum. It’s not even close to the full extent of what should be done to shut down these butchers and child abusers and bring them to justice. It&#8217;s just the most meager first step. It&#8217;s the step where we at least stop forcing Americans to fund these psychopaths. And yet we haven’t even done that. Republicans control the federal government and yet somehow we are still sending hundreds of millions of dollars to Planned Parenthood.
Why? What is the reason? What is the negative consequence of defunding them? The Left will be mad? The media will complain? The activists will shriek and sing protests songs in the street? That last thing is pretty painful, I admit. But is in any of that enough to override the great moral necessity of defunding an organization that kills and castrates children? Obviously not. Especially because the protesters will be shrieking anyway. The media will complain regardless. The Left will stay mad no matter what. They’re going to cry. We might as well give them something real to cry about.
That&#8217;s not to say the Republicans in Congress haven&#8217;t done anything at all. They&#8217;re technically showing up to work even though it&#8217;s not exactly ground-breaking stuff. But it&#8217;s well past time for elected Republican representatives, along with the White House, to take decisive action on the ghouls and butchers who call themselves healthcare providers. If we can defund NPR — and the White House says we can — then we can defund these abortionists too. And we can stop corporations from distributing psychoactive drugs like they&#8217;re candy, while we&#8217;re at it. This is what we voted for.

One of the most commonly prescribed abortion pharmaceuticals in the United States today is one of the most dangerous substances in the world, according to groundbreaking new research. Sadly, it&#8217;s not as polarizing a product as Ozempic or vaccines.
According to a <a href="https://eppc.org/news/largest-ever-study-of-abortion-pill-reveals-shocking-number-of-adverse-events/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">bombshell new study</a> using real-world data, the abortion pill is physically wounding thousands of women per year.
When the Food &amp; Drug Administration approved the abortion pill – mifepristone or Mifeprex – it was on the basis that clinical trials had shown a serious adverse event rate of less than 0.5%.
But the new research, which analyzed 865,727 mifepristone abortions between 2017-2023, found a serious adverse event rate of 11%. That&#8217;s twenty-two times higher than the figure cited on the drug label.
These adverse events are not mere side effects. Hemorrhage, sepsis, infection, cardiac distress, and incomplete abortions are part of the laundry list of complications suffered by women within 45 days of taking the abortion pill.
The figures come from an all-payer health claims database. Insurance companies don&#8217;t pay for things that didn&#8217;t happen. The research was published by the Ethics &amp; Public Policy Center, which has promised more is to come.
If these serious adverse events were caused by a common antibiotic or a diabetes medication, media outrage and mass public uproar would ensue. 
Reckless conduct in the service of political ideology got us here. In the final year of the Obama administration, the Department of Health and Human Services watered down safety regulations. They allowed the abortion pill to be prescribed by non-physicians, taken at home away from the watchful eye of medical professionals, and extended the maximum gestational age at which a child could be aborted from seven weeks to ten weeks.
The Biden administration took this ghoulish crusade a step further. In 2023, they removed virtually all safeguards to the extent that a woman can now order abortion pills online, take them at home, risk bleeding out, flush her aborted child down the toilet, and go it alone, all without ever seeing a doctor.
It is up to the new Trump administration to restore some sanity. President Trump has been notoriously fickle on abortion, as has his HHS secretary, Robert F. Kennedy.

Both Kennedy and newly-installed FDA Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary have expressed a commitment to prioritizing women&#8217;s safety in regard to the abortion pill. Upon questioning from Sen. Steve Daines of Montana during his confirmation hearings, Kennedy promised to study the abortion pill and take action on any new developments. Dr. Makary has expressed similar rhetoric, although he <a href="https://www.semafor.com/article/04/24/2025/fdas-marty-makary-no-plans-to-pull-abortion-pill-mifepristone">stated</a> in late April that he had &#8220;no plans&#8221; to restrict the pill until the data could be examined thoroughly.
The question now is whether health and safety will take priority over abortion absolutism. There are too many women suffering silently for the administration to do nothing.

“Snow White” actress Gal Gadot recently shared details about a life-threatening blood clot she had in her brain while pregnant with her fourth child.
The 39-year-old discussed the incident during an episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show” that aired on Tuesday. 
“I was eight months pregnant and it was my fourth baby. This time around I had massive headaches that completely put me down,” Gadot told Barrymore, per <a href="https://people.com/gal-gadot-scared-to-death-when-doctors-discovered-blood-clot-in-her-brain-11698943">People</a>. “I was in bed and I couldn’t hear or see anything. I had a hot bottle on my head and was just like this [lays back] all day, 24 hours.”
“And it just got worse and worse and worse and I saw different doctors and neurologists and they said, ‘It’s probably a nasty migraine,’” she said.
The actress said her mom convinced her to get an MRI to check out the situation.
Gadot added, “None of the doctors sent me to get an MRI, even if we asked for it before. Always advocate for your health. Always. Listen to yourself, advocate for your heart. If anything, you just over-checked yourself, right? That’s okay. And in this case, went to get an MRI and we were rushed to the hospital. I had a major brain clot.”
“If I had gone through a spontaneous delivery, I would not have been here,” she added. “It was all of this [touches head], 15 centimeters and 5 centimeters, three different ones. And it was the first time that I felt what it meant to be scared to death. And again, had I known better, they could have just put me on blood thinners and done.” 
The “Wonder Woman” star said she ended up undergoing emergency surgery and giving birth to her daughter within two hours of her diagnosis. She told Barrymore that while blood clots are rare, she’s hoping to spread awareness to women about the possibility.
“Three out of 100,000 pregnant women will have a brain clot. But if you feel any symptoms just check yourself,” the actress said. “MRI is very easy and there’s no radiation or anything.”
Gadot has been at the center of the “Snow White” controversy as Disney scaled back the movie’s premiere amid bad press. Most of this has to do with the film’s star, Rachel Zegler, who made disparaging remarks about the source material and Trump supporters. Zegler is also pro-Palestinian, while Gadot is Israeli and served in the Israel Defense Forces. She also publicly advocated for the release of the October 7 hostages.

As the Senate considers Dr. Martin Makary’s nomination to lead the Food and Drug Administration, the safety of all Americans — especially women and children — must be a top priority. For far too long, the FDA has been grossly negligent regarding essential safeguards surrounding the abortion-inducing drug mifepristone. Dr. Makary’s initial hearing provided a glimpse into his commitment to <a href="https://grabien.com/file/getmedia?id=2831540&amp;key=756f0397187f6b49fdaab04e60406327&amp;userid=17147">data-based approaches</a> to providing the best care for our patients. I’m hopeful that this expected confirmation will stand as a first step to the FDA reprioritizing the health and safety of women and children.
Despite the common refrain that abortion should be a decision &#8220;between a woman and her doctor,&#8221; doctors are too often left out of the picture by what has become a highly politicized and aggressively pro-abortion FDA. To the detriment of women’s health and safety, the FDA has for too long made women’s health a pawn in abortion politics by promoting drug-induced abortions as safe and recklessly ignoring the necessity of proper medical oversight.
Due in large part to the Biden-era FDA’s gutting of the requirements necessary to take mifepristone, women today are denied crucial medical care in life’s most vulnerable moments. In fact, the FDA has recklessly removed its requirements that women meet with a doctor before taking abortion drugs, thereby denying women the chance to be screened for life-threatening conditions like ectopic pregnancy or to confirm how far along she is in her pregnancy. 
My 20 years of caring for women as an OB/GYN have affirmed what the medical literature <a href="https://www.acog.org/clinical/clinical-guidance/committee-opinion/articles/2017/05/methods-for-estimating-the-due-date">shows</a> — the only way to ensure accurate dating of a pregnancy is to examine a woman in person, ideally with an ultrasound. This is crucial, because an error of just a couple of weeks could mean a significant increase in risk for the woman if she takes these drugs.
To be clear, I would never recommend dangerous drug-induced or surgical abortions to any woman or teen who comes to me for care, especially when so many life-affirming alternatives exist to effectively care for both mother and child. 
The FDA also shamefully fails to require any follow-up visits, even though their own label on mifepristone states roughly one in 25 women who take it will end up in the emergency room. Selling women the lie that these drugs are safe, especially without the benefit of ongoing care with a doctor, is unethical.
With the urging of abortion advocates, and without appropriate evidence to support it, the FDA has also allowed abortion drugs to be shipped to women by mail, delivered straight to their doorsteps. This move not only puts women in danger of taking <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2022/08/01/the-web-is-home-to-an-illegal-bazaar-for-abortion-pills-the-fda-is-ill-equipped-to-stop-it-00048802">counterfeit drugs</a> that could cause them harm, but it also makes them <a href="https://lozierinstitute.org/hidden-epidemic-nearly-70-of-abortions-are-coerced-unwanted-or-inconsistent-with-womens-preferences/">vulnerable to coercion and abuse.</a>
The new FDA leadership must prioritize women’s health by implementing key reforms. 
First, they should reinstate the requirement for in-person doctor visits so women can receive individualized counseling and fully informed consent, along with being adequately screened for potentially life-threatening conditions. It&#8217;s a simple but essential principle of medical ethics that patients have a right to informed consent before taking these high-risk drugs — something that can only happen with an in-person visit and individualized counseling. Even the pro-abortion American College of OB/GYNs (ACOG) <a href="https://www.acog.org/clinical/clinical-guidance/committee-opinion/articles/2021/02/informed-consent-and-shared-decision-making-in-obstetrics-and-gynecology" target="_blank" rel="noopener">notes</a> that an adequate informed consent process is one where patients are “free to ask questions” and make a choice about their care, including refusing treatment. It’s impossible to have this tailored conversation when abortion drugs are dispensed online with no in-person interaction with a medical professional.
Next, should a woman choose to pursue a drug-induced abortion, the FDA should restore the seven week gestational age limit (currently 10 weeks) to decrease the risks associated with these drugs, as well as require abortion providers to see a woman for a follow&#8211;up visit to ensure her abortion is complete and to evaluate for and treat any complications she might be experiencing. This would be consistent with what was originally recommended when the drug entered the market and would reduce risks to women. With these protections in place, our federal leaders, regardless of their personal position on induced abortion, can at the very least reduce the risk of women dying from complications of abortion drugs and ensure that all women are receiving fully informed consent before taking them.
Reinstating the FDA’s original safety regulations for mifepristone is an essential first step toward protecting the health and safety of women across the nation. Women and girls seeking an induced abortion are often in a vulnerable and uncertain time of their lives. Rather than ensuring that they receive accurate information and ongoing medical care, the FDA has sold them a lie and denied them appropriate care. We all should work together to bring this negligence to an end.
Women and girls deserve the best medical care possible that is individualized and evidence-based. I&#8217;m hopeful that with Dr. Makary&#8217;s leadership the FDA will restore safety as the priority for American women and girls. Our patients deserve nothing less.

In a joint post on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DE0HoN-phS0/">Instagram,</a> the couple posted a video of them holding hands before the former NFL QB showed off a series of ultrasound photos announcing they were going to be parents. At one point in the clip, the former beauty queen turned around and showed off her baby bump, with both of them grinning from ear to ear about their exciting news.
The post was captioned simply, “Baby Tebow,” with an announcement that their little one will be arriving this summer.
“Team Tebow is expanding! Tim Tebow and his wife Demi-Leigh are expecting their first baby together, they share with PEOPLE exclusively while expressing their joy at becoming first-time parents ahead of their public announcement on Instagram,” a <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DE0Ivj_ppbi/?img_index=1">second post</a> from the former beauty pageant winner read.

Tebow, a college football analyst, told the magazine that when he learned they were going to be parents, it gave him a whole new perspective on life.
&#8220;It&#8217;s just amazing how it also reprioritizes and changes what you put an emphasis on and what you value most,&#8221; the former QB said.
&#8220;News like that just supersedes the level of importance and the level of joy that you have,&#8221; he added. &#8220;It&#8217;s just so cool.&#8221;
As an outspoken pro-life advocate, Tebow previously gained a lot of attention when he shared his mom’s story at the annual March For Life event in 2021. During his speech, he talked about his mom&#8217;s trust in God and how she gave birth to him after doctors warned her against doing so and said she should get an abortion, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/tim-tebow-at-march-for-life-i-now-get-to-share-my-story-because-my-mom-gave-me-a-chance">reported</a>.

Retired NFL Philadelphia Eagles star and podcast host <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/jason-kelce">Jason Kelce’s</a> wife Kylie Kelce hilariously announced that the couple is expecting again, with a fourth daughter on the way.
In a post Friday on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DCsStvWOmL6/">Instagram</a>, the wife of the ESPN sportscaster shared a picture of their three girls &#8212; Wyatt, 4, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 15 months &#8212; all wearing cute, long-sleeve pink sweaters that read, “Big Sister.”
The funny part is only one of them was smiling &#8212; Ellie. Youngest daughter Bennett was in tears, and Wyatt was making a face with her hands over her ears.
“I feel like we captured a very accurate representation of how each of the girls feel about getting another sister,&#8221; Kylie’s post read. &#8220;At least Ellie, mom and dad are on the same page!”
Reading through the comments, everyone made it clear they couldn’t have been more excited for the couple’s news.
Kylie’s mother in law Donna Kelce wrote, “Love it.”

At the time of this piece, Jason&#8217;s brother Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, has yet to publicly comment about the exciting news, nor has Travis&#8217; famous pop star girlfriend Taylor Swift.
In July, Kylie hit back at tabloid rumors that she and Jason were expecting in a <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@kyliekelce/video/7393370263125085471?lang=en">TikTok</a> about nipping the rumors in the bud, saying she was not pregnant.
She said in the video that there have been numerous articles written about her for the last year “stating that I am pregnant” and added she couldn’t stand “people writing such insensitive articles about a sensitive topic.”
On Friday, Kelce made a new post on <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@kyliekelce/video/7440254410401402143?lang=en">TikTok</a> using her past video and joked about “famous last words.” She then played a clip of the three girls in their pink sweaters, which she posted to announce the pregnancy.

As a Gen Z, pro-life woman, I voted for President-elect Donald Trump. It’s crystal clear why he won: the political Left’s empty platitudes and hollow tolerance talk was a façade, and the election results shredded their mask. My post-election experience thus far consists of being mobbed or threatened on campus, proving the hypocrisy of the Left’s claims of acceptance of all lifestyles. I identify as Pro/Life.
I’ve been fighting for pre-born lives for my entire college and adult career, debating abortion supporters’ &#8220;pro-woman&#8221; abortion arguments. I’m no stranger to ostracization from my peers, hateful messages, and even death threats. Maybe it’s because these people support an industry that kills pre-born babies to keep their doors open.
Two days after the election, the abortion Left’s chaotic response at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) to my campus tour, “Abortion is Violence,” proved my point about abortion supporters.
These “pro-woman” abortion zealots quickly surrounded me, yelling, spitting at me and my crew, stealing flyers and other display materials, leading to one arrest by campus police.
The conduct during my speech wasn’t much better; I walked into a room at full capacity of 160 people with more protestors waiting outside. Abortion supporters held signs with my face on them. They mocked, shouted, and insulted me, even telling me I should’ve been aborted.
One pro-abortion man came up to me and yelled:
“You should be eradicated! You should rot in the bowels of hell! You should die!” When a nearby person pleaded for civility, saying, “That’s a woman, respect the woman,” he replied, “My respect for women is very selective.”
Whatever happened to “I’m with her?”
And these same people wonder why Vice President Kamala Harris lost.
They say they support women, but only those women who agree with killing pre-born children, or perhaps men who identify as women who feel the same.
They want the freedom to spit, steal, and scream but don’t want Americans they disagree with to speak peacefully and engage in public discourse.
They say women should have the truth and resources to “make their own choice,” but blatantly lie about miscarriage care, Chemical Abortion Pill side effects, and fetal development.
Fortunately for us, people saw past the spin, and it cost Harris and the Democratic Party the Presidency, U.S. House, and U.S. Senate.
Voters had the choice of voting for the most radical, pro-abortion ticket in world history, and said NO. A majority of voters don’t want abortion up until birth, nor do they appreciate the senseless propaganda around it.

Late-term abortion extremism is not a winning argument, which is why abortion zealots don’t want civil conversation and critical thinking to spread nationwide. If open dialogue occurs, then people can clearly see how radical these beliefs really are.
At VCU, as I talked with students willing to listen, an aggressive mob of more than 200 abortion supporters shouted down the free speech of others. The online death threats I continued to receive became too severe for me to remain on campus, requiring my security as well as police to escort me to safety. Students took more of my flyers and ate them in my face as I walked through the mob.
Despite securing my physical safety, the online attacks continued as pro-abortion students made viral videos on <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTY1SBYm3/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TikTok,</a> flooded by Instagram with horrific messages, and got my TikTok permanently banned.
But their efforts to silence my voice for the voiceless prove my point: these tactics wouldn’t be necessary if abortion extremism was popular. Their actions and insults against decent and good people solidify their perception as loudmouths who are intolerant of the beauty of life.
I’ve received countless messages from people saying I’ve helped change their minds on abortion. Millions of people have seen my content from my tour stops and seen the pro-life movement challenging the pro-abortion narrative shoved down our throats.
Even though the abortion Left’s ire rings loudly, the pro-life movement treks forward victoriously, with the hopes that Trump will stand up for our free speech rights so we can continue to protect the pre-born.

We have talked a lot over the years about the decline in the birthrate and the rapidly increasing number of young adults who are refusing to get married and have children. As much as we’ve discussed the subject, we still have not discussed it enough. It is one of the great crises facing our civilization at the present moment. When a society gives up on having children, it has given up on its future, given up on itself.
Of course, plenty of people are still having children. We haven’t entered full on &#8220;Children of Men&#8221; territory quite yet. Our population is still growing, just as the population of the world is still growing. But that growth is slowing. And we have long since crossed the crucial threshold where our fertility rate is now below replacement level. We are no longer having enough babies to replace older people as they die off. As a consequence, our population itself grows older and more top heavy. All kinds of complications follow form this, and those complications quickly turn into catastrophes. 
We have discussed many aspects of this problem. But it’s a problem so deep and all-encompassing that there are always going to be new dimensions to explore. A few days ago, the New York Times, engaging in another random act of journalism (as Rush Limbaugh used to call it), published a piece homing in on a facet of the birth rate decline that, until now, hadn’t gotten much press, if any at all. The <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/11/11/well/family/grandparent-grandchild-childfree.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">article is titled</a>: “The Unspoken Grief of Never Becoming a Grandparent.” The piece, by Catherine Pearson, has gotten a decidedly mixed reaction. Some people — myself included — found it to be a profoundly sad yet very empathetic and very interesting look at a group of people who are suffering in a unique way from our society’s plummeting birth rate. But other people were angry and offended, for reasons we’ll talk about in a moment. 
First let’s read a bit of this: 
<blockquote>“Lydia Birk, 56, has held on to her favorite copy of “The Velveteen Rabbit” since her three children — now in their 20s and 30s — were young. 
She loved being a stay-at-home mother, and filled her family’s home with books. (All of her children could read before they started school, Ms. Birk recalled with pride.) She hoped one day to be a “cool” grandma who would share her favorite stories with a new generation. 
But none of her children want to have kids. And though that decision is “right for them,” Ms. Birk said, it still breaks her heart. “I don’t have young children anymore, and now I’m not going to have grandchildren,” she said. “So that part of my life is just over.” 
Like Ms. Birk, a growing number of Gen Xers and baby boomers are facing the sometimes painful fact that they are never going to become grandparents. A little more than half of adults 50 and older had at least one grandchild in 2021, down from nearly 60 percent in 2014. Amid <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/07/31/health/fertility-births-vance.html">falling birthrates</a>, more U.S. adults say they’re <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/07/25/well/mind/child-free-adults-pew-study.html">unlikely to ever have children</a> for a variety of reasons, chief among them: They just don’t want to.”</blockquote>
The article continues with more anecdotes along these lines. I won’t post them all here. But you should read them for yourself. They’re quite sad. And quite illuminating. There are many older people these days with children who swear they will never have children of their own. The reasons they give for remaining childless are all very similar. They point to the economy, the state of the world, climate change, and so on. None of them feel they have any obligation to have kids and carry on the family name and the bloodline. They are thinking only about themselves and what would make them most comfortable. And they’ve decided that they are most comfortable being childless and alone. Their parents will just have to deal with the loneliness and grief. That’s the general attitude.

It’s also the attitude of many commenters on this article. There’s plenty of sympathy for the would-be grandparents. But there’s also a lot of this sort of thing: 
<blockquote>Boo hoo.  Get over yourself.  I chose not to have children.  That is/was my choice, which was clear from day one with my spouse.  He married me on those terms.  I am not responsible for my parents&#8217; happiness, they are.  They tried to guilt me into it during the first few years I was married but eventually gave up.  It was never their choice to make.</blockquote>
A similar message in this comment: 
<blockquote>I feel it is extremely self centered of any person who expects others to make decisions that will make them happy. Too many parents try to live their lives vicariously through their children. Children do not owe their parents everything. Besides, many of us were forced to babysit our younger siblings. I had 18 years of watching my 3 younger siblings AND having to work in my mother&#8217;s day care center! My God, if I had had my own children I would have ended up spending my entire life raising children. My purpose in life is not to watch/raise children. With the recent parental theory/practice of making the oldest child the &#8216;third parent&#8217; (making them help raise their younger siblings) you can expect that more people will reject parenthood when they become adults.</blockquote>
I have to clarify one thing here. It is a not a “recent theory” that older children should help care for their younger siblings. This is in fact how all human societies have worked since the dawn of our species. This commenter is suggesting that “more people” are rejecting parenthood because they were raised in the same way that billions of humans have been raised since time immemorial. This is a common theme. People with absolutely no understanding of human history have decided that the challenges they have faced are utterly unprecedented, when in fact they haven’t dealt with a single thing that billions of other people haven’t also dealt with. And those billions of people had families in spite of it.
In any case, this article also went viral on X. The commentary there was very similar. 
A couple of examples: 
<blockquote>Unspoken? my parents never shut the f up about wanting grandkids. dont f up the economy for your children and then get surprised when they can&#8217;t afford kids.</blockquote>
Another one says: 
<blockquote>These grandparents should have built enough generational wealth so their kids would feel financially secure enough to start a family. &#8220;The unspoken grief of not being a trustfund nepobaby who can easily support a family.”</blockquote>
Obviously we hear this excuse constantly. We’re told that people aren’t having kids today because “the economy” makes it impossible. This person blames the brith rate decline on a lack of “generational wealth.” Let me reiterate a point I made on Twitter/X, which seems to have upset a lot of people. Now I’ll upset them again. The economy is not preventing anyone from starting a family or having children. I am not denying that the economy is in poor shape at the moment. But that is not a good reason for a society to give up on the family. If anything, it’s all the more reason not to give up.
You don’t need “generational wealth” to start a family. I didn’t have any generational wealth when I started mine. Many of you are familiar with my story. I was broke when I got married. The economy wasn’t exactly humming at the time either. We were just climbing out of the Great Recession. I was living in an apartment on a meager salary. So broke that I frequently had to pay for gas with the spare change in the cupholder in my car. We weren’t in much better shape when we had our first two kids. We didn’t buy our first house until we already had three kids. You do not need to be rich to start a family. You do not need to come from a rich family. You do not need a strong economy. Economies ebb and flow. They go up and they go down. If you ever have kids, it is guaranteed that you will have kids during a weak economy. It may be strong now, but you’ll still be a parent ten years from now when it dips again. It may be weak now, but you’ll be a parent ten years from now when it’s stronger. This is how economies work.
It’s why you can’t wait around for the economy to permit you to move on with your life and do the things that you are meant to do as a human being.
I share my own story as an example because it’s my story, but because I want you to know that I’ve actually done the thing I’m advocating for. But of course even at my brokest point I was still &#8220;rich&#8221; compared to the vast majority of humans who have ever lived on Earth. You, right now, no matter what your financial situation, are richer than almost everyone who has ever lived. People with fewer resources than you have been reproducing since the beginning of human civilization. Literally billions of people have done the thing that we are now told can&#8217;t be done unless you have $100,000 in savings. If people had this attitude in the past, the human species wouldn&#8217;t exist anymore.
So, you can’t afford to start a family? How can that be? How can it be that you can’t afford it, and yet billions of people have afforded it with less? How is it that you &#8220;can&#8217;t&#8221; do something that has been done under more difficult circumstance billions of times? I am often told by younger people that the situation now is just too difficult, everything is too expensive, I just don’t understand, I can’t relate. It’s like they think the history of the world started 45 minutes ago. If you think the challenges you face today are so unprecedented that they mean we should stop reproducing as a species then you simply have no understanding of world history. You don’t know what the world was like. You don’t know what your ancestors had to deal with. You don’t even know what people ten years older than you had to deal with.
People have been through recessions, depressions, famines, wars, catastrophes of all kinds. And they continued having children. They continued building families. Sure, fertility rates have gone up and down over the years and decades. But there has never been a time when mass amounts of young adults have simply sworn off parenthood altogether. That has never happened until now. 
Do you really think you face greater hurdles than your great great grandparents did during the Great Depression? Do you really think it’s harder to have a family now than it was when the Black Death was wiping out a third of the population of Europe? Yes, these days young families may struggle to buy a starter home. I did, too, in my early 20s. If there was ever a time when it was easy for someone in their 20s to afford a nice home, that time lasted for like 30 seconds 40 years ago. It was never like that before, and hasn’t been like it since. Get over it. Most people in the history of Earth could never dream of living in any kind of home at all. In fact, for most people who’ve ever lived, the greatest challenge in starting a family was that half of their kids wouldn’t live past infancy. And yet they still started families. They still forged on.

The truth is the economy isn’t stopping anyone from having kids. It’s not that they can’t afford it. It’s that they don’t want to make the sacrifices it requires. They’d have to give up a certain measure of comfort in order to start a family, and they don’t want to do that. For most of the people who say they can’t afford kids, that’s what they mean. That’s how we can end up in a situation where someone “Can’t afford kids” even though they are wealthier and more comfortable than billions of people who somehow could afford kids. 
What they really mean to say is they can’t afford the same level of luxury and comfort while also having kids. This is not a matter of affordability. It’s a matter of priority. A lot of people today prioritize their own pleasure and enjoyment over anything and everything else. 
The irony, of course, is they so often end up with far less pleasure and enjoyment than people who don’t prioritize it. The truth is you can start a family and have kids and then down the line end up far richer than you were when you were childless. I’m a testament to that. Millions of other examples are available. But one of the most basic realities of life is that if you want more, you have to be willing to risk what you already have. You have to put your chips on the table. If you won’t do that, you’ll be stuck in exactly the spot you’re in right now forever. Until eventually you lose that too. 
That brings me to the final point I want to make. We heard those responses to the New York Times article from people who insisted, quite indignantly, that they don’t owe it to anyone to have kids. But actually, you kind of do. Nobody will tell you this. 
Nobody will talk about the obligation to start a family. The idea that any of us have any obligations at all is of course anathema to the modern mind. We are deeply distressed by the thought that we owe anything to anyone, ever. But you can be distressed all you want. I’ll say what no one else will say to you: You do actually owe it. You have a duty. There are exceptions. Some people are called to a life of service apart from biological parenthood. Some people simply can’t have kids. There are other vocations human beings can have. But most of us are called to start families. And for those of us who are called, we do owe it, we do have a debt to pay.
Your ancestors suffered and bled and died to build the civilization you live in now, and give you all of the comforts and luxuries you take for granted. They lived lives that were, by our standards, brutal and short and impoverished. They built their lives by hand, from scratch. They built this civilization from scratch. You think you can’t afford children. You have a grandfather not all that far back in your lineage who built a one bedroom cabin by hand and shared it with your grandmother and 8 kids, one of whom gave birth to the person who gave birth to the person who gave birth to you. You experience more comfort and luxury in a single day then that man did in his entire life. His life would have been easier if he never had kids. But he had them, because he wanted you to exist. He was actually thinking 100 years into the future — 200 years, 300 years. You come from a long line of people who actually cared about what the world would look like in the distant future, even as you only care about what you’re going to have for lunch this afternoon.
You don’t have just one grandfather like that. Your bloodline was carried on through the centuries by men and women of this type. They carried your family name and your lineage and your history and everything that makes you, you — they carried it on their backs, and suffered for its sake. And now after all of that, after those thousands of years of struggle and strife just to bring you into this world, you’re going to shrug your shoulders and refuse to continue. They ran marathons, handed you the baton, and you’re going to just sit down in a lawn chair and say, “Sorry, you all wasted your efforts. The race ends here. I don’t feel like running.” You’re going to wipe out your lineage and bloodline just so that you have more time to watch Netflix? Thousands of years of toil end with you, by your own choice, because you just can’t be bothered. That is a failure of historic proportions. It is a failure to live up to your obligation. Because yes you have an obligation to the people who built this world — you have an obligation to continue what they built.
I’m not saying this is the most compelling argument. To a lot of people these days, the idea that they should have any respect for their ancestors, much less that have any obligations to them, is totally foreign. I realize that. We are a culture severed from its own past, living a perpetual state of now, as though the past never happened and the future will never happen. That’s how you end up with people who act as though they’re facing unprecedented financial hardships because they can’t afford to buy a three bedroom house at the age of 23. I understand all of that. But what I’m saying is still true, all the same.
So if your parents are sad that you aren’t giving them any grandchildren, this is why. They have every right to be sad. They are mourning not only their own loneliness, but also the fact that you are choosing to squander ten thousand years of work. They are mourning the extinction of their bloodline. And they are wondering what the point of any of this ever was, if it all ends like this, it all ends with you, for no good reason.

Liberal women are vowing to go on a sex strike in protest of President Donald Trump’s 2024 election-night win.
The trend is inspired by the feminists in South Korea who started a movement called “4B” which rejects traditional gender roles and “the patriarchy”. The “4” represents no sex, no dating, no childbirth and no marriage while the “B” represents a negative as “bi” is a prefix for negative words in South Korea.
American liberal women are announcing on social media that they’re joining the movement with the intention to punish men for “voting against women’s rights.” Translated: liberal women are throwing a temper tantrum because the majority of Americans agree with commonsense restrictions on abortion opposed to allowing abortion through all nine months of pregnancy for any reason under the sun.
Ironically, liberal women who have largely rejected abstinence as an option to prevent pregnancy are now admitting it works.

Guard your womb, SERIOUSLY. IF you choose to be with a male, make sure he actually values and respects you at a human f***** being. This is ridiculous.”
The inauguration is over two months away and somehow there seems to be a “President Trump effect” that is making America more wholesome already. It seems far-fetched that a radical feminist would be encouraging women to guard their wombs and wait for a man who values and respects them, but that’s exactly what we’re witnessing. Who is going to tell them this has been a conservative talking point all along?
In some cases within the new obsession of the 4B movement, liberal women are shaving their hair to make themselves less attractive to men. X account @libsoftiktok shared a selfie-style video of a woman cutting her own hair while telling women not to have sex with, date, or talk to men.

Regardless of the reason causing women to pursue abstinence to prevent pregnancy, the pro-life movement considers this a win.
It proves what we’ve been saying all along; women have always had control over their bodies. Women have always been able to abstain from casual sex. In fact, it would be real misogyny to suggest women are incapable of being responsible and accountable for their own consensual decisions.
If women elect to abstain from casual sex with men who don’t value them, unplanned pregnancies will be prevented. If there are less unplanned pregnancies, there will be less women seeking abortions.
There is no scenario where this is a negative, unless you happen to be Planned Parenthood or any other part of the $2 billion abortion industry. It must be difficult witnessing their clients and biggest supporters commit themselves to abstinence.

As ironic and full circle as this moment is, it shines a light on the lies and manipulation of the pro-abortion Harris/Walz campaign and one of the democrats largest donors, Planned Parenthood. When President Biden was still the Democratic nominee, Planned Parenthood pledged to spend <a href="https://apnews.com/article/planned-parenthood-spending-45-million-2024-election-a6b9252fec64d1e051816ea173dab32f" target="_blank" rel="noopener">$40 million</a> to bolster Biden and leading congressional Democrats according to a statement shared with The Associated Press.
Tens of millions of dollars behind corrupt politicians are intentionally manipulating women to think their lives are at risk with any sort of abortion restriction on the books. That number increases to hundreds of millions if you include the pro-abortion referendums across the country this election cycle.
There have been political speeches, news headlines, social media posts and more fearmongering women to believe it is illegal to get miscarriage care.
The new 4B movement posts are full of the same reiterated falsehoods and misinformation.
It is worth noting there is no state in the country, including those that have restrictions on abortion, which bans miscarriage care or ectopic pregnancy treatment and there are no states that don’t have an exception for the life of the mother. Legislation for each state is very clear on this.
It is also worth noting that there have been no women killed by abortion bans, despite pro-abortion, legacy media headlines. Of the fatal cases we’ve seen highlighted in headlines, the cause of death has been a direct result of abortion or medical malpractice.
If Kamala Harris and Tim Walz cared about women, they wouldn’t have repeatedly lied on the issue of abortion, instilling fear among women across the country. If they hadn’t campaigned on abortion lies and simply told the truth, we likely wouldn’t be seeing as many women shaving their hair off and screaming obscenities in the middle of a mental break on social media.
However entertaining and ironic these videos have been to many over the past few days, no one deserves to live in politically manufactured fear.
Women deserve to know the truth. America deserves to know the truth.

Ever since Roe v. Wade was overturned and abortion was returned to the states, the media has been searching for stories of pregnant women to use as pawns to demonize those against abortion.
This week, The Washington Post <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/interactive/2024/abortion-law-nevada-arrest-miscarriage/?utm" target="_blank" rel="noopener">published a story</a> about a Nevada woman who had a miscarriage and was arrested and charged with manslaughter. The story was widely shared on social media, with New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof amplifying that narrative.
“A struggling Nevada mom suffers a miscarriage,” Kristof wrote on X. “Then the police show up and arrest her for manslaughter, and she&#8217;s sentenced to 2.5-8 years in prison. Only when a pro bono lawyer steps up and appeals does a judge reverse the conviction and set her free to return to her children. This is family values? Think about that as you vote.”

It appears Kristof, like many others, didn’t read the full Post story, which explains – albeit while attempting to downplay the situation – that Patience Frazier did things intended to end her pregnancy and admitted as much to law enforcement.
For starters, Frazier’s arrest took place in 2018, four years before Roe was overturned. Abortion is also legal in Nevada, even now that Roe is no longer in place.

When Frazier first learned she was pregnant, she knew she was in trouble because the baby was not her boyfriend’s and she feared being kicked out of his home. A few days later, she scheduled an abortion, but she didn’t have a working car and couldn’t find a ride to the abortion facility before she was 24 weeks pregnant – which is when the baby would be viable and Nevada law bans abortion. At that point, Frazier would have been in her third trimester.
She didn’t see any doctors about her pregnancy and told police she didn’t know how far along she really was. She purchased cinnamon capsules after learning they could help end her pregnancy and took twice the recommended amount to do so. Medical experts later testified there was no evidence to suggest cinnamon could end a pregnancy.
On April 21, 2018, Frazier says she miscarried her son and tried to give him CPR when she noticed that she could see his facial features. She said she cradled her son’s body and then buried him in the yard, crying all the while.
A month later, a woman who babysat for Frazier and sheriff’s deputy Jaqueline Mitcham told Mitcham she believed Frazier “got rid of her baby.” Mitcham believed Frazier’s baby was born alive and then killed, but the medical examiner testified that there was no evidence the baby was born alive.
The toxicology report did, however, find marijuana and methamphetamine in the baby&#8217;s system.
Believing Frazier had done something wrong, Mitcham investigated the case, even as her male colleagues told her there was nothing she could do.
Frazier’s own mother told police that her daughter had attempted to end her previous pregnancies by drinking bleach (which Frazier denied to the Post), taking meth, and “doing all kinds of pills.” Frazier’s mother even showed investigators text messages from a previous pregnancy where Frazier said she “tried to miscarry the whole time I knew I was pregnant” by taking pills and lifting heavy objects.
Frazier admitted to taking cinnamon and lifting heavy objects to try and end her pregnancy, and, due to her mother&#8217;s statements and the drugs found in the baby&#8217;s body, she was charged with taking drugs to end a pregnancy and a lesser charge of concealing a birth.
Though Frazier cried when she was arrested, Mitcham would later say it seemed like a child pretending to cry so they could get out of trouble.
Frazier’s public defender worked out a deal for probation, but a Nevada Division of Parole and Probation employee recommended up to 10 years in prison. The employee had noted that, while Frazier’s attorney kept using the word “fetus,” the autopsy report referred to the baby as an “infant” who was between 28 and 32 weeks old.
The judge sentenced Frazier to 30 months to eight years in prison, but that sentence was later set aside due to ineffective assistance of counsel.

Shame will bury you, burden you, and lead you nowhere. For years, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/abortion" target="_blank" rel="noopener">abortion</a> buried me in shame and regret, but through healing and faith I discovered the power to reclaim my life and help others do the same. It took years of soul-searching, brokenness, and ultimately my surrender to faith to learn I wasn’t alone in this journey — that healing was not only possible but was available to me all along.
At just six-years-old, I witnessed shame for the first time when my pregnant teenage sister stood before our church confessing her sins. That moment was traumatic — not only for her but for me, too. From that point on, I lived in fear of “one sin” ruining my entire world. That fear clung to me as I grew older until I had to face my own decisions. Witnessing my sister’s experience didn’t stop me from sinning, though, it just made me want to hide it. So I did.
Raised by Christian parents, attending church, and reading the Bible, I knew the difference between right and wrong. With that knowledge came the pressure to impress my parents and my church community. I had to be the leader: the first to finish high school, go to college and graduate – all without becoming a teen mom. Looking back, it seemed more important for me not to get pregnant than it did to excel in school because of the proliferation of teen pregnancy within my family.
“Just don’t get pregnant,” I was told. And yet, I did.
So, at 17-years-old, I found myself Googling “low-cost abortion near me.”
I had no idea abortion was going to be a long-lasting regret in my heart. At the time, I thought nothing could be worse than feeling rejected by my own family and watching my dreams go down the drain.
After my first abortion appointment, I was left shattered by physical pain and emotional regret, but I kept smiling through it all, pretending nothing was wrong. I thought it would be a quick fix,—it wasn’t. Walking out of the clinic, I felt numb and broken in ways I could not explain. The weight of my decision sank into my soul with each passing day as I tried my best to carry on as if nothing had happened.
Abortion is so ugly. It kills, steals, and destroys many parts of you, not just your baby. I began having suicidal thoughts, consumed by bitterness, grief, and fear. No one prepares you for the suffering from abortion.
From that moment on, I spiraled downward, using abortion as my birth-control method of choice. Hiding one sin with another, I continued covering up my shame until one day, I decided to share my secret.
When I was 23, an argument with my parents resulted in an outburst of tears. Even though I feared they’d hate me, I confessed everything to them, including the fact that I’d had three abortions. To my surprise, they hugged me, opening the door to a healing I didn’t realize I so desperately needed — and had been rejecting.
Even though my parents told me they’d help me get counseling, none of us knew where to start or that post-abortive counseling existed. So I went on to have two more abortions. That’s when I realized: I needed a deeper change in my heart.
It wasn’t until I was brutally honest with God, crying out for help, that I stopped. I needed Him to pull me out of this cycle of death. I turned to Him, and He saved me. In that vulnerable moment, I felt a presence like never before. For the first time, I believed God’s love could reach me and my shame, and that changed everything.

One night at a church in my hometown, I found a small red wristband with the word LIFE on it. Curious, I researched the website on the inside of the wristband and contacted the organization to get involved. At this point, I didn’t even know what the terms “pro-choice” or “pro-life” meant, but I knew I had to make a change in my life. I had to stop ignoring the truth and begin denying my sinful heart.
I decided to stand with the pro-life organization in front of the abortion clinic and protest in prayer for the millions of lives taken by abortion. I felt so unworthy and shameful to even stand and pray for such a cause, but Jesus didn’t just call me worthy, He took me a step further.
The woman leading the prayer protest invited me to her summer small group created to heal post-abortive women. Hearing this for the first time, I had no idea that such a topic was being discussed in the church. That summer, a small red wristband led me to Surrendering the Secret, the post-abortion 8-week Bible study. It was the most life-altering time of my life, and a moment I’ll never forget! Jesus met me in my darkness and rescued me from years of shame.
Between 2008 and 2017 I had five abortions. I spent most of my 20s chained by my shame. But now, thanks to the grace of God, I’ve been set free. I am no longer walking in shame but in the light and truth of God’s promises.
As I continued my healing, I began <a href="https://www.instagram.com/shamefreegigi/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sharing my story</a> online in hopes of reaching post-abortive women in need, but also hoping to stop women from making the same mistakes I made. As a result, I have seen a flood of girls just like me share their stories, and I have even seen babies saved, abortion appointments canceled, and lives transformed.
Recently, I had the privilege of working with Live Action on a groundbreaking 8-part video series called <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qhYsJCKi9o" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Face to Face</a>. This powerful project brought together former abortionists, former abortion industry workers, abortion survivors, and post-abortive women for raw, eye-opening conversations that the world has never seen.
This series isn’t just another conversation about abortion. Face to Face is a direct, unfiltered look at the human cost of abortion, told by those who lived through it from both sides. Sharing my story and coming face to face with a former abortionist was another step in my healing process. It was an intense, raw confrontation with the reality of my past, but it also solidified my calling to stand in the gap for other women who, like me, are searching for a way out of their pain.
I am confident God has called me to help all women, but especially those like me: young, black women who are confused, scared, and full of shame. It’s time for us to step out of the darkness and into the light.
Shame no longer has a place in my life. Now, my life is full – with two baby boys and another on the way.
If you are suffering from the effects of a past abortion, let that burden go, and turn to God. You won’t regret it. I encourage you to seek out the support that’s waiting for you—whether through a local church, a post-abortive group, or simply reaching out to a trusted friend or mentor. There is hope, and you do not have to carry this burden alone.

Maranda Halstead’s baby was saved because of speech — information that told her about an option to save her baby’s life after she had taken, and regretted taking, the first abortion drug. But if blue-state attorneys general have their way, that life-saving speech will be censored, and mothers like Maranda will never know about abortion pill reversal.
This week commemorates Free Speech Week, which gives us an opportunity to celebrate the freedoms we enjoy in the United States. Our ability to speak freely matters. And one of the most important ways we can use our speech is by speaking life to those around us. Unfortunately, some elected officials want to silence speech that offers women who have sought an abortion the chance to save their child’s life.
In 2023, <a href="https://www.guttmacher.org/2024/03/medication-abortion-accounted-63-all-us-abortions-2023-increase-53-2020" target="_blank" rel="noopener">63% of abortions</a> were caused by abortion-inducing drugs. The abortion-by-drugs method involves taking two different drugs within a few days of each other. Some women regret taking the first drug (mifepristone) and investigate ways to halt its effects.
Pro-life pregnancy centers seek to inform these women that it may be possible to counteract mifepristone’s effects. When taken shortly after the first drug, progesterone has been shown to potentially save the life of the child. Progesterone is a naturally occurring hormone that has been used to support pregnancies for 50 years. Many women have used this method to try and reverse the effects of mifepristone, and studies and statistics suggest it has saved over <a href="https://pregnancyhelpnews.com/we-celebrate-each-of-these-children-aprn-marks-5k-lives-saved" target="_blank" rel="noopener">5,000 unborn babies</a> at a <a href="https://www.abortionpillreversal.com/abortion-pill-reversal/overview">64-68% success rate</a>.
For as much as abortion activists harp on “choice,” they don’t show much respect for those women who change their minds to ultimately choose life. Several states have made moves to shut down the speech of pro-life pregnancy centers that offer women hope and resources should they choose to save the life of their baby.
In 2023, Colorado enacted a law that prohibits doctors and nurses from offering women abortion pill reversal and assisting them in the process, making it professional misconduct to do so. For Chelsea Mynyk, a licensed nurse practitioner and certified midwife, helping women through unexpected pregnancies is a religious calling.
Yet she received a letter from the Colorado State Board of Nursing notifying her that she is being investigated for a possible violation of the Nurse Practice Act all because of an anonymous complaint about her provision of abortion pill reversal. This put Chelsea in an impossible position — follow her convictions or leave women without life-saving care.
Alliance Defending Freedom, where I serve as vice president of the Center for Life, <a href="https://adflegal.org/case/bella-health-and-wellness-v-weiser?utm_source=dailywire&amp;utm_medium=oped" target="_blank" rel="noopener">intervened</a> in a lawsuit filed by The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, on behalf of Chelsea. The court clarified that Chelsea was protected on religious liberty grounds. This meant that she may continue to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/states-clamp-down-on-pregnancy-centers-over-abortion-pill-reversal" target="_blank" rel="noopener">help</a> young women, like Mackenna, through the abortion pill reversal process. Mackenna recently gave birth to a healthy baby girl, who Mackenna “can’t imagine life without.” If Colorado had its way, Mackenna would never have known that Chelsea could help her choose life for her daughter.

This crackdown on choosing to save the life of a child is not limited to Colorado. In New York, a federal judge <a href="https://adflegal.org/case/national-institute-family-and-life-advocates-v-james/?utm_source=dailywire&amp;utm_medium=oped" target="_blank" rel="noopener">blocked</a> Attorney General Letitia James from abusing her authority to censor pregnancy care centers’ speech about abortion pill reversal. The judge ruled the First Amendment protects the centers’ “right to speak freely about” abortion pill reversal and say it “is safe and effective for a pregnant woman to use, with her doctor, to reverse the effects of a first chemical abortion pill and, thereby, help to save the life of her unborn child.”
In California, a pro-life pregnancy center and pregnancy center network represented by ADF recently <a href="https://adflegal.org/press-release/california-pro-life-pregnancy-centers-sue-ag-censoring-their-speech?utm_source=dailywire&amp;utm_medium=oped" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sued</a> Attorney General Rob Bonta for doing the same thing. Elsewhere, state politicians are filing agenda-driven investigations into pro-life pregnancy centers — not just for their promotion of abortion pill reversal. In 
Washington state, Attorney General Bob Ferguson <a href="https://adflegal.org/case/obria-group-v-ferguson?utm_source=dailywire&amp;utm_medium=oped" target="_blank" rel="noopener">closed</a> his investigation into two faith-based, pro-life pregnancy centers after ADF sued his office for singling the pregnancy care centers out for their life affirming views. In New Jersey, Attorney General Matthew Platkin <a href="https://adflegal.org/case/platkin-v-first-choice-womens-resource-centers?utm_source=dailywire&amp;utm_medium=oped" target="_blank" rel="noopener">targeted</a> First Choice Women’s Resource Centers with a burdensome subpoena because of their pro-life viewpoint.
The federal courts are rightly skeptical of government attempts to censor speech. But that hasn’t prevented state officials from trying to squelch speech with which they disagree — even if that speech might allow women to save the life of their unborn child. While opponents of the sanctity of life keep looking for creative ways to silence their political opponents, ADF stands ready to advocate for life and our ability to speak about it.
