Conservative media group PragerU released an <a href="https://x.com/prageru/status/1848922785172586969" target="_blank" rel="noopener">already-viral</a> short documentary on Wednesday digging into the repercussions of policies and attitudes promoted by far-Left activist group Black Lives Matter.
Notably, the film, &#8220;<a href="https://www.prageru.com/video/their-lives-mattered" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Their Lives Mattered: The Forgotten Victims of Crime in America</a>,&#8221; is presented by a former BLM activist, Xaviaer DuRousseau.
In &#8220;Their Lives Mattered,&#8221; DuRousseau speaks to the families of innocent children who were slain in inner cities, crime experts, and activists to understand the heartbreaking cost of BLM-supported policies.
&#8220;I was a Black Lives Matter activist,&#8221; DuRousseau says in the opening of the film, as shown in the teaser clip, below. &#8220;I was initially drawn to BLM because the media convinced me that thousands of black people were being shot and killed by racist white police officers.&#8221;
&#8220;The &#8216;fiery but mostly peaceful&#8217; protests made me rethink my perspective,&#8221; DuRousseau continues, referring to a CNN description of a destructive BLM protest. &#8220;It didn&#8217;t make sense to me why black rioters would loot and destroy their own communities in the name of racial justice, and why the media only cared about the loss of black life when the perpetrator was white.&#8221;

Happy Gregg, a woman who lost her four-year-old son MJ to apparent gang violence in Chicago, told DuRousseau that not a single person has been prosecuted for the killing.
&#8220;When my son was murdered, I thought there would be outrage, and that justice was going to be swift,&#8221; Gregg said. &#8220;But I realized, there&#8217;s no outrage; I&#8217;m gonna have to be that outrage, I&#8217;m gonna have to be that voice for my baby.&#8221;
&#8220;No one even knows that a four-year-old was murdered, because there&#8217;s a lot of people murdered. Like, &#8216;get in line&#8217; is almost the tone of it, here,&#8221; the mother said. &#8220;Through that, I realized that a lot of children had been murdered. And I had no idea.&#8221;
The same weekend MJ was killed, seven other children were also killed in Chicago. There was no city-wide, let alone nationwide, protest, like the media helped drum up for the death of George Floyd.
DuRousseau also spoke to a man named Nathan Wallace, who lost his seven-year-old daughter Natalia to gang violence in Chicago. One man speaking alongside Wallace following the crime, posed, &#8220;If black lives don&#8217;t matter to us, how the hell is it supposed to matter to anybody else?&#8221;
Others in the documentary, including Manhattan Institute senior fellow Rafael Mangual and STAND founder Bishop E.W. Jackson, help to shed light on crime statistics often ignored in the media and the policies and activism behind increased crime.

Conservative media organization <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/prageru" target="_blank" rel="noopener">PragerU</a> was kicked off of the Google Play store on Friday shortly after it released its documentary &#8220;<a href="https://www.prageru.com/video/dear-infidels" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dear Infidels: A Warning to America,</a>&#8221; but the Big Tech company said the suspension was a mistake.
Google notified PragerU that it had violated its “hate speech policy,” according to a screenshot shared by the conservative non-profit, and the app was booted from Android users&#8217; mobile store, The Jerusalem Post <a href="https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/prageru-booted-from-google-s-play-store-for-violating-hate-speech-policy/ar-BB1nQz64" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. The Big Tech giant also told PragerU that its app went under a review, which found &#8220;content or speech asserting that a protected group is inhuman, inferior or worthy of being hated.”
Hours later, however, Google said that the app had been reinstated &#8220;after further re-review,&#8221; and a Google spokesman told <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/policy/technology/3033442/google-lifts-suspension-on-conservative-content-app-initiated-in-error/#google_vignette" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Washington Examiner</a> that the suspension was made in error.
“In an email from Google, they said our recently removed app is now available ‘after further re-review,'&#8221; PragerU <a href="https://x.com/prageru/status/1799216136346833402" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a> on X. “Thank you to all of our amazing supporters who helped publicize this issue to force Google to reverse their earlier decision to remove our app from the store entirely.”
The new documentary that PragerU suspected was the reason for Google&#8217;s suspension of its app &#8220;features first-hand accounts from those who escaped Islamic rule and have come to warn America.&#8221;
&#8220;Radical Islam poses a significant threat to our freedom,&#8221; the documentary description states. &#8220;The rise of anti-American rhetoric and violence in cities and universities is a direct result of the indoctrination led by those perpetrating a religious war against the West.&#8221;
PragerU, which was started by conservative writer and radio show host Dennis Prager, has been targeted by Google and YouTube in the past. The organization has sued the Big Tech platforms &#8220;for restricting over 200 videos, including videos on the Ten Commandments, which continue to be restricted by YouTube today,&#8221; PragerU said.

In a new documentary by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/author/prageru" target="_blank" rel="noopener">PragerU</a>, young adults who de-transitioned from radical sex-change treatments they received as minors discuss what they describe as the false promises and ultimately &#8220;tragic&#8221; consequences of so-called &#8220;gender-affirming care.&#8221; To promote the film, PragerU purchased a &#8220;takeover&#8221; ad on X as part of a $1 million marketing campaign on Thursday.
&#8220;DETRANS: The Dangers of Gender-Affirming Care&#8221; is a 21-minute documentary that focuses on two people who express deep regret for taking hormones and undergoing surgeries to reject their biological sex.
&#8220;There are so many young people who are going through very similar things that I did and are still being told that transitioning will save them,&#8221; Daisy Strongin says. &#8220;And it&#8217;s just not true. My story is tragic in some ways, but it&#8217;s very redemptive in many ways.&#8221;
Strongin&#8217;s story began when she was only a minor, battling severe depression and struggling with her self-worth. That&#8217;s when she turned to the internet, seeking answers and guidance in addressing her feelings of hopelessness.
She said after consuming gender transformation videos on her favorite websites like YouTube and Tumblr, she became &#8220;very, very interested in having a male persona.&#8221;
&#8220;The more time I spent online, the more it felt like real life,&#8221; she said. &#8220;And the more real it felt, which eventually led to me just totally transitioning.&#8221;
Strongin said she eventually changed her identity and began visiting a behavioral mental health clinic. After six days, she said the staff told her parents, &#8220;If you don&#8217;t validate him, then this is just gonna get worse.&#8221;
&#8220;When parents of trans-identified kids are referred to specialized gender clinics, they&#8217;re often told that they&#8217;re going to get comprehensive, multidisciplinary mental health assessments,&#8221; Leor Sapir, a transgenderism expert and fellow at the Manhattan Institute, says in the film. &#8220;We know that that&#8217;s not true in practice. These kids were put on a fast track to medical transition.&#8221;

Another such case featured in the documentary is that of Abel Garcia, who says that while browsing through YouTube in middle school one day, a video depicting a male transitioning to a female &#8220;planted a seed of doubt&#8221; in him that put him on the path to his own &#8220;transition.&#8221;
&#8220;I just wanted an answer to be given to me on who I was,&#8221; Garcia says. &#8220;And I went to see a therapist, and I had only asked, &#8216;I think I might be trans, I don&#8217;t know – I want to know.'&#8221;
Garcia says the therapist immediately told him during his first appointment that he was a &#8220;transgender woman.&#8221;
Conservative Attorney Harmeet Dhillon, who represents clients suing health care providers for performing &#8220;gender-affirming&#8221; surgery on minors, suggests that the spike in media depictions and social media depictions of transgenderism have led to the increase in minors transitioning.
&#8220;It&#8217;s even reached the mainstream advertising world,&#8221; says Dhillon. &#8220;And I think this is all coming to a head on what this really means for our society.&#8221;

PragerU officials appeared to have countered the advertising world on Thursday after the organization <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/nbc-out/out-news/prageru-buys-takeover-ad-x-part-1m-campaign-promote-polarizing-detrans-rcna123351">purchased</a> a &#8220;takeover&#8221; ad on X with its $1 million marketing campaign to promote the documentary.
Craig Strazzeri, chief marketing officer for PragerU, told the press that after watching the film, the organization hopes the audience would understand how &#8220;major regret&#8221; comes with young people who transition.
&#8220;We decided to pursue an X takeover because it&#8217;s a great opportunity for us to reach a massive audience on the dangers of gender affirming care given that X is one of the least censored social media platforms, thanks to Elon Musk,&#8221; Strazzeri said in a statement to NBC News. &#8220;This will give millions of people the opportunity to hear important stories from detransitioners themselves, many of whom have been censored and even ostracized because their lived experiences do not affirm the mainstream media&#8217;s narrative.&#8221;

“How do we make good people?”
Dennis Prager, founder of PragerU, posits that this is the most important question a society can ask itself and that our society spends far too little time asking it.
While many people spend plenty of time pursuing academic or athletic achievements, or proving their worth at work, very few people spend much time at all actively contemplating or improving their character. Most people generally assume by default that they’re good.
“It’s a very interesting riddle, isn’t it?” Prager notes. “Most everyone thinks they’re a good person, and yet, there’s a fair amount of evil out there.”
Prager argues that many people are able to paper over their moral shortcomings because, “We don’t assess our goodness by our behavior. We assess our goodness by our intentions,” and, as the old saying goes, good intentions often pave the road to hell.
Virtue is hard-won and often in short supply precisely because people don’t prioritize it, according to Prager. While intent is insufficient, the first step to being a good person is aiming to be a good person, because, as Prager puts it, “You become what you want to be.”
Prager outlines a handful of key qualities that he believes are especially necessary to become a good person: Honesty, courage, kindness, gratitude, responsibility, morality, self-awareness.
Barring exceptional circumstances (such as hiding another person from someone trying to kill them) it is generally a very bad thing to lie. And, once you start lying, it rarely stops at a singular lie – if you lie to your spouse about having an affair, for example, you’ll often have to lie about where you were and who you were with, and then if those alibis are questioned you’ll create more lies or try to get other people in your social circle to lie for you until the entire situation spirals out of control into an ever more complicated web of deceit.
Being honest with other people is a virtue, but so is the ability to be honest with yourself – to admit when you’ve made mistakes and to be self-aware enough to acknowledge your own failings, to improve your shortcomings, and avoid or resist what tempts you.

Courage is also another lynchpin virtue, as being able to recognize right from wrong isn’t very useful if you aren’t willing to do what’s right. Doing the right thing can often be difficult or painful, but confronting challenging circumstances and making the hard, but right choice is foundational to being a good person.
Prager also highlights <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hurdles-to-happiness-prageru-masters-program-episode-7-now-available-on-dailywire" target="_blank" rel="noopener">gratitude</a> as a keystone of happiness as well as goodness. 
“No ingrate is kind,” Prager says. “Ingratitude is a guarantor of meanness, of anger, of bitterness, of lashing out.”
On that note, Prager says that one of the quickest measures of another’s person is how they treat perfect strangers, particularly people they want nothing from who they outrank in some broad social hierarchy, say a waiter or a menial laborer at their place of work. If they take a moment to acknowledge the basic humanity of all people, recognizing them by name, thanking them, or even simply smiling at them, it is generally a very good sign, and if it isn’t something you do regularly, it’s a good habit to start working on.
“Goodness is cultivated on a daily basis with little behaviors, but little behaviors add up.” 
On a broader scale, good people take responsibility for their actions, support their families and communities, and are morally centered around proper values. While cultivating goodness requires a lifelong commitment and vigilant efforts, the payoff is that your world will be a warmer, brighter, and happier place.
“The biggest reward, probably, is that you bring good people into your life,” Prager says, which he describes as “the single greatest source of happiness.”

Opponents of marriage, and even some married people, frequently say that marriage is “just a piece of paper.” But is this true? Does marriage have any real benefits or significance for men and women?
There are many important events in a person’s life and death: birth, Christian baptism, Jewish bar or bat mitzvahs, weddings, and funerals, among others. Is one of these major life events attended by more people than the next? Dennis Prager, founder of PragerU, explains that if you look at the number of people at each event, more often than not, a wedding will be most attended.
There’s a reason for that.
“There is simply no event in your life that has the meaning and is so widely felt by others as your wedding because it&#8217;s deemed the most significant thing you will do, and even, perhaps, the happiest,” Prager says.
Prager explains that this talk, in which he makes the case for marriage, is the “saddest” one simply because in today’s day and age, with society continually degrading and diminishing the role and meaning of marriage, he has to give it. Decades ago, Prager says he wouldn’t have thought about giving this message because most people didn’t need it — they already knew.
In the United States today, roughly half of first marriages end in divorce, according to <a href="https://www.forbes.com/advisor/legal/divorce/divorce-statistics/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Forbes</a>. As for second and third marriages, that fail rate is even higher, the outlet adds. This fact, Prager says, is what many unmarried people give as justification for their refusal to tie the knot. Others point to the severed marriages of their parents, a point Prager says holds no merit, posing the question of whether a person would quit driving if their parents got into a car accident. 
“Yes, a lot don&#8217;t work out, that is correct,” Prager admits. “I&#8217;ve never found that to be a compelling argument against the institution.”

One way to avoid that dreadful divorce rate is to marry right the first time. But, Prager says, divorce is sometimes merited and is never easy. Unlike Hollywood stars who “trade in their wives every few years,” most people go to great lengths to make their marriages work and can still come up empty. 
But the rewards for long-lasting marriages are great for both men and women. Prager points out a study by a professor at the University of Virginia which found that married men, on average, earn 20% more than unmarried men. It also found that married men are harder workers — typically working 400 hours more a year than unmarried men — and more strategic. 
“Marriage also transforms men’s social worlds; they spend less time with friends and more time with family; they also go to bars less and to church more,” Brad Wilcox, the author of the study, <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/inspired-life/wp/2015/04/02/dont-be-a-bachelor-why-married-men-work-harder-and-smarter-and-make-more-money/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a> in a 2015 Washington Post article. 
Marrying can also improve the health of a man. A Framingham Offspring study <a href="https://www.health.harvard.edu/mens-health/marriage-and-mens-health" target="_blank" rel="noopener">found</a> that married men have a 46% lower rate of death from cardiovascular disease even after accounting for various risk factors, an astonishing statistic. A different study <a href="https://www.health.harvard.edu/mens-health/marriage-and-mens-health" target="_blank" rel="noopener">found</a> that marriage has been linked to higher survival rates following cancer diagnoses, and another <a href="https://www.cmu.edu/dietrich/news/news-stories/2017/february/why-married-people-are-healthy.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">discovered</a> that married people have lower levels of stress. 
“[M]arried men have a lower risk of depression and a higher likelihood of satisfaction with life in retirement than their unmarried peers,” a 2019 Harvard Health article, cited by Prager, <a href="https://www.health.harvard.edu/mens-health/marriage-and-mens-health" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. “Being married has also been linked to better cognitive function, a reduced risk of Alzheimer&#8217;s disease, improved blood sugar levels, and better outcomes for hospitalized patients.”
Women, too, receive numerous benefits from marriage. Prager points to studies showing that married women have better physical and emotional health, resulting in lower levels of depression and suicide attempts than unmarried women — and even “cohabiting” women, according to <a href="https://www.standard.co.uk/hp/front/being-unmarried-makes-a-woman-a-higher-suicide-risk-6678947.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">one study</a>. They are also not as likely to be physically or emotionally abused, Prager says. 
Beyond the physical, mental, and social benefits of marriage, being devoted to a spouse also forces men and women to do something extremely important: grow up. This is actually one of the contributors to the declining marriage rate in the country, because a lot of people today don’t want to grow up, according to Prager. He says it’s easy for him to spot a married man or woman by how they conduct themselves. 
“When I meet a man who is married, he radiates a maturity and even a masculinity that I rarely find in men who are single for a long period of time,” Prager explains. “With women, likewise, I identify a maturity and a wisdom and a stability that I don&#8217;t see in women who have never been married.”
Prager says that Americans should strive to be a member of this institution, not only because it contributes to society in beneficial ways, but also because it’s good for the couple. Don’t wait too long to get married, either, Prager advises. Instead, get serious about marriage when a “wonderful person” comes along, instead of using the often-cited excuse of waiting for “financial stability.” 
Ultimately, Prager says, a person will become better because of marriage. While the act of marriage is not an easy task, Prager asserts that “everything worthwhile is difficult.” And, contrary to objectors, marriage is much more than “just a piece of paper.”

But similarly robust data indicates that men and women differ drastically in median <a href="https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20161011-do-men-and-women-really-have-different-personalities" target="_blank" rel="noopener">temperament</a>, <a href="https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19883140/#:~:text=Men%20showed%20stronger%20Realistic%20(d,d%20%3D%20%2D0.33)%20interests." target="_blank" rel="noopener">interests</a>, <a href="https://www.jstor.org/stable/26913183?seq=5" target="_blank" rel="noopener">political persuasion</a>, attitudes towards <a href="https://www.huffpost.com/entry/the-parenting-gender-gap_b_11430888">child rearing</a>, <a href="https://psychcentral.com/blog/relationship-corner/2018/01/female-vs-male-friendships-10-key-differences#3" target="_blank" rel="noopener">relationships</a>, and <a href="https://scitechdaily.com/what-factors-matter-in-sexual-attraction-for-men-and-women-of-different-ages/#:~:text=And%20while%20both%20sexes%20prefer,can%27t%20risk%20choosing%20poorly.">sexuality</a>, and even susceptibility to different kinds of <a href="https://www.apa.org/news/press/releases/2011/08/mental-illness" target="_blank" rel="noopener">mental illness</a>.
Unlike the ironclad differences in body structure and genitalia, the temperamental differences between the sexes do exist on a spectrum &#8211; while some personality traits may be more common in women or more common in men, there will be some men who are more feminine, and some women who are more masculine. But the fact that there are exceptions to the rule does not disprove the general pattern: while there is considerable overlap between the sexes along dimensions, along others the typical differences are so great that exceptions are few and far between.
“We have to make generalizations but they have to be intelligent generalizations,” Prager says. “And you always have to offer examples to make your point about the generalization.”
One article Prager <a href="https://psychcentral.com/blog/relationship-corner/2018/01/female-vs-male-friendships-10-key-differences#3" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cites</a> notes that women are more likely to suffer from mood disorders such as anxiety or depression, while men are more likely to have autism or ADHD. That roughly tracks with personality research, which suggests that women are more sensitive to negative emotion than men, while men are on average <a href="https://psychcentral.com/blog/relationship-corner/2018/01/female-vs-male-friendships-10-key-differences#3" target="_blank" rel="noopener">more impulsive</a> and less sensitive to social cues than women. While there is no shortage of depressed men or autistic women, women are <a href="https://psychcentral.com/blog/relationship-corner/2018/01/female-vs-male-friendships-10-key-differences#3" target="_blank" rel="noopener">twice as likely</a> to be diagnosed with depression and men are more than<a href="https://psychcentral.com/blog/relationship-corner/2018/01/female-vs-male-friendships-10-key-differences#3" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> 4 times</a> as likely to be autistic.

Another point Prager notes is that male and female infants play differently and have sex-based preferences in activities and toys. These differences have been validated cross-culturally and across species – infant <a href="https://psychcentral.com/blog/relationship-corner/2018/01/female-vs-male-friendships-10-key-differences#3" target="_blank" rel="noopener">monkeys</a> prefer either wheeled toys or plush, doll-like toys depending on whether or not they’re male or female. As a whole, males are consistently more interested in motion and action while females are more interested in faces and people.
Prager also recounts an anecdote where lifelong liberal Larry Summers — former Clinton Treasury Secretary and president of Harvard University — <a href="https://psychcentral.com/blog/relationship-corner/2018/01/female-vs-male-friendships-10-key-differences#3" target="_blank" rel="noopener">bought</a> his young daughter toy trucks in an attempt to be “gender neutral “ as a parent, only for her to immediately treat the toys like dolls, dubbing the larger one “daddy truck” and the smaller one “baby truck.”
Men are also much more physically aggressive than women and more likely to resort to violence. They tend to be more competitive and less likely to take disputes personally — Prager notes that male athletes have been found to be more likely to shake hands, pat each other on the back or otherwise physically reconcile after a high-level competition than female athletes are.
Men also tend to be more rough-and-tumble in their friendships. “When men really like each other, they insult each other,” Prager notes. By contrast, female friendships tend to be built on emotional support and intimacy — what a man might think of as playful teasing would in that context be a devastating slight.
Women, by contrast, tend to be more innately nurturing. They largely avoid physical confrontation and are highly concerned with the health of relationships and the needs of infants and other vulnerable members of the group.
“Women are optimized for taking care of a child,” Prager says, noting that this observation should be uncontroversial whether you believe they evolved to be this way or were created for that purpose. The fact of the difference and the obviousness of its importance is incontrovertible — human beings could not exist if someone wasn’t focused on caring for the next generation.
Prager also notes that this difference extends beyond the immediate household and applies to views of society at large.
“Women overwhelmingly are more likely to vote for the parties that want to nurture those in society who are, for example, poorer. They vote for the nurturing party,” Prager said. 
Perhaps most frustratingly, men and women have different approaches to sex and romance, and often radically misunderstand one another.
“Women are aroused by their minds, men are aroused by their eyes,” Prager argues.
Men are predominantly aroused by visual cues of attraction: facial symmetry, waist-hip ratios, and other cues for fertility and health. They also have a greater interest in casual sex and are allured by the prospect of sexual variety — they are overwhelmingly more likely to consume pornography, patronize prostitutes, or pursue casual hookups.
“It&#8217;s not an excuse,” Prager says, arguing that those tendencies can be extremely destructive and have to be reined in, “but the fact that reality poses a problem is not a reason for a mature person to dismiss the reality.”
By contrast, while women are attracted to good-looking men, looks alone are rarely enough to keep their attention for long. Prager provides a list of other factors women consider when assessing a man that are at least as important as his looks, if not more so, including (but not limited to): “Voice, height, brains, personality, money, success, fame, power, charm, sense of humor, confidence.”
Put more <a href="https://psychcentral.com/blog/relationship-corner/2018/01/female-vs-male-friendships-10-key-differences#3" target="_blank" rel="noopener">scientifically</a>: “While both sexes prefer a physically attractive mate or potential partner, males have been shown to report stronger such preferences for attractiveness … Females are more selective about other characteristics because their time for reproduction is more limited so they can’t risk choosing poorly.”
Prager also noted that the feminist push for “empowered” women to adopt male sexual norms and pursue casual sex was actively making women <a href="https://psychcentral.com/blog/relationship-corner/2018/01/female-vs-male-friendships-10-key-differences#3" target="_blank" rel="noopener">miserable</a>. Denying the various differences causes both sexes to dismiss or disregard those differences, hurting themselves and each other.
“The better men and women understand each other, the more they&#8217;ll accept each other&#8217;s differences,” Prager says, “and that can serve as a very big help in their relationship.”

Firstly, Prager argues that happiness is not merely an arbitrary emotional state: it is something that must be actively pursued, the same way a person would pursue a career, an education, a relationship, or any other value in life. Happiness has prerequisites, and foremost amongst them is gratitude.
“You can’t be happy if you’re not grateful,” Prager says. Being able to appreciate the things that you have instead of obsessing over the things that you don’t is immensely important — if you don’t appreciate the blessings you have in life, how are they supposed to make you happy?
Unfortunately, many people construct their entire identities around the idea that they are a victim, that they are oppressed, that they have been wronged and denied the goods and opportunities they deserve — victimhood has acquired an air of prestige and moral superiority.
“If you think of yourself as a victim, by definition you are not a grateful human being,” Prager notes, adding that the sense of victimhood actively inhibits happiness because to the extent that you allow yourself to enjoy what you have, you undercut your vision of yourself as a victim.

Prager also points out that many of the loudest ‘victims’ in our culture are some of the most privileged people to walk the earth — full-time students at prestigious universities, who enjoy all the luxuries of modern life and have been given years to pursue their chosen interests without needing to enter the workforce.
Prager also argues that even for people who have suffered horrific abuses, a victimhood-centered mindset is still stultifying and unproductive.
“You choose whether or not you see yourself as a victim,” Prager says, noting that for most people throughout most of human history, life was extraordinarily hard. Even so, in the face of war and famine, and plague, many people have worked hard and cherished whatever fortune came their way, living happy and meaningful lives. “You are not necessarily objectively a victim, you have chosen to regard yourself as such.”
Prager says that people should temper their expectations, because if you expect something to happen you don&#8217;t appreciate it when it does – you become indignant when it doesn’t. For instance, the people who most appreciate the blessings of good health are those who have suffered from a serious illness: people who have been healthy all their lives and consider it a given. In virtually every home in America the lights turn on and our toilets flush at the mere press of a button; that is only true because of the hard work of countless scientists, engineers, electricians, plumbers, and an entire societies’ infrastructure, yet most of us go years with without spending even a second appreciating those small miracles.
“I expect virtually nothing, so that everything I get I am grateful for,” Prager said.
Prager also advised against comparing yourself to other people or getting too attached to certain visions of how the world should be. While being inspired to better yourself is a positive thing, life will rarely unfold exactly as you envisioned it, and people’s lives are rarely as rosy as our superficial judgments of them may be. It’s better to appreciate your successes rather than obsess over your failures or denigrate your accomplishments against those of other people.
“Looking around thinking how lucky you are, that’s the mother of gratitude, and gratitude is the mother of happiness.
“I am not simply convinced that the ideas in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/episode/coming-soon-episode-7-hurdles-to-happiness" target="_blank" rel="noopener">this episode</a> will change people&#8217;s lives, I know they will,” Prager says. “I can tell you what works, you choose whether to use it.”

While some people hold a mixture of conservative and progressive viewpoints, Prager argues that in our increasingly polarized society, more and more people have been drawn into incompatible ideological camps, which have coalesced around respect for tradition, individualism and local autonomy on the one hand and relativism, collectivism and centralized control on the other.
“Not every conservative holds every conservative position. Not everyone on the Left holds every left-wing position,” Prager notes, “but it applies to the great majority of people.”
<h2>The Place Of Religion And God In Society</h2>
Prager argues that the Left wants religion to be a totally private matter with no influence in the public square, but the Right wants a religious society that promotes shared values — specifically Judeo-Christian values — while having a secular government.
“That which society’s values rely upon is religion,” George Washington said in his farewell address.
Prager notes that while not all the Founding Fathers were Christians, they all acknowledged the importance of the biblical tradition to American culture.
“The role of the Bible in American life has no peer,” Prager said. “It was the central text, it was how you taught children values.”

<h2>The Worth Of The Human Fetus</h2>
Prager argues that on the contentious issue of abortion, the central issue is not even one of policy, but of basic reality — the Left and the Right cannot agree on whether or not a fetus in the womb is objectively a human being or if its personhood is arbitrary.
“On the Left… the human fetus has no intrinsic worth,” Prager says. “The mother determines 100% whether it is infinitely precious or worth nothing.”
Prager notes that if a gunman shoots an expecting mother and she loses the baby as a result, he can be charged with homicide, but if an abortionist kills the child at the mother’s request, it is often treated with all the moral significance of having a pimple popped — the fetus is only a person if the mother wants it to be.
Prager says that even by secular moral standards, that position makes no sense. The conservative position that the fetus is a human being and valuable in and of itself is an objective and consistent moral standard; while we may quibble over when in development a fetus becomes a person, whether or not terminating a pregnancy is murder is not a question that is subjective to individual whim.
<h2>American Exceptionalism</h2>
Prager says that the Left regards the idea that the United States is in some way special as misguided chauvinism at best, while the Right holds it as historical fact. For much of its history, the United States was the land of opportunity, and people around the world flocked to it to pursue their dreams and enjoy the freedom and prosperity that were unrivaled around the world.
“American exceptionalism is not a bragging right,” Prager said. “It is either true or not true.”
Furthermore, Prager argues that American Exceptionalism is not guaranteed, and that recently, the United States has become less free and less special — America’s national character was hard-won and must be safeguarded.

<h2>The Greatest Threat To The World</h2>
Prager notes that the Left often describes climate change as an ‘existential threat’ to human civilization, and one that justifies extreme measures to combat it. By contrast, while those on the Right generally accept that the planet is getting warmer, they don’t view it as a catastrophe, are skeptical of efforts to completely reshape the world economy, and view ‘green’ alternatives such as solar and wind as unreliable compared to fossil fuels or even nuclear power. The latter is especially telling because nuclear energy emits virtually no greenhouse gasses yet is typically overlooked or even scorned by environmental activists.
By contrast, the Right generally regards human evil as the supreme and ever present threat to mankind, and are skeptical of concentrating power in the hands of a ruling elite. They fear that those elites are corruptible and will leap from crisis to crisis in order to justify their continual use and abuse of power to the detriment of everyone around them.
<h2>Race</h2>
The Left believes that a person’s racial identity is of paramount importance, while conservatives believe that  individual character is paramount and that a person’s ancestry tells you nothing important about who they are.
“You know literally nothing about a person if you know their color,” Prager says, “so how can it be significant?”
In addition, Prager also analyzes differing attitudes towards guns, art, diversity, culture, morality, American history, justice, nationalism, and immigration, where the Left and Right hold similarly irreconcilable positions.
Episode 7, ‘Hurdles To Happiness’, which will be released on July 12th, explores the common obstacles people face to leading meaningful and fulfilling lives.
Episode 8, ‘Differences Between Men and Women’, which comes out on July 19th, explores the distinctions between the sexes and their complementary nature.

While Franklin Pierce was widely regarded as a kind and friendly person, his presidency would destabilize the fragile peace between the North and the South, according to Joseph Forneri, professor of political science at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
Franklin Pierce was born in New Hampshire near the turn of the 19th century, and was the son of Benjamin Pierce, a veteran of the Revolutionary War. Benjamin distinguished himself at the Battle of Saratoga and was renowned as a war hero &#8211; he would later serve as governor of New Hampshire, and Franklin spent much of his early political career in his father’s shadow.
Pierce began his political career shortly after graduating from college in 1824 – by 1829 he was elected to the New Hampshire state legislature and by 1832 he had been elected to Congress. By 1837 he was the youngest member of the Senate.
“The overriding political issue of the day was slavery,” Forneri said. “While not a slave owner himself, Pierce believed that the constitution committed the federal government to protecting slavery. Not surprisingly, Pierce’s position endeared him to his Southern Colleagues. This support was key to his political career.”
By 1842, financial concerns and his wife’s chronic illness compelled him to resign from the Senate and take a step back from any electoral ambitions, although in political terms he arguably became more powerful during this period as he emerged as an influential apparatchik and Democratic party boss in New Hampshire.
However, the seizure of large swaths of the Southwestern United States after the Mexican-American War destabilized the delicate balance of power between slave and free states and created an opportunity for a man like Pierce to achieve national prominence.
A tentative compromise was reached in 1850 which admitted California to the Union as a free state and left the status of the New Mexico and Utah territories indeterminate.
“That’s where things stood when Franklin Pierce, through an improbable series of circumstances, became America’s 14th president,” Forneri said.
“When the Democratic convention opened in June 1852 in Baltimore Pierce was not even a dark horse candidate &#8211; he wasn’t a horse at all,” Forneri explained. However, a continual deadlock between candidates representing different regional interests created an opening for Pierce, a Northerner who would protect Southern slavery.
Pierce was selected as the Democratic nominee on the 49th ballot and coasted to a victory in the general election, as the rival Whig party was even more sharply divided on the slavery issue.
While in office, however, Pierce would fracture the country even further by shepherding the Kansas-Nebraska Act advocated for by Illinois Democrat Stephen Douglass, which undid all previous legislative compromises and let the various territories decide for themselves whether or not they would permit slavery within their borders.
While Douglass’s concept of popular sovereignty was meant to end the controversy surrounding slavery, it only escalated it. Kansas and Nebraska saw widespread violence between settlers as pro- and anti-slavery factions flooded the new territories, determined to swing the state’s formative elections in their favor.
“Bleeding Kansas” presaged the violence that would engulf the country as abolitionist and anti-abolitionist forces split the young nation in two.

Franklin Pierce: A Torn President in a Torn Country

“If credibility is the lifeblood of journalism, the Mainstream Media is dead.”
Ashley Rindsberg, investigative journalist and author of “The Gray Lady Winked: How the New York Times&#8217;s Misreporting, Distortions and Fabrications Radically Alter History,” outlined the broad strokes of the Russian Collusion narrative that was manically propagated by the mainstream media and then quietly ignored after its claims were categorically discredited.
In January 2023, the Columbia Review, a highly respected journalistic publication, published an in-depth review of the “Russiagate” scandal written by industry veteran Jeff Gerth. Gerth concluded that every major claim made about the Trump campaign’s alleged collusion was false. “Let’s step back and consider what this means: for some five years, the Mainstream Media, the New York Times, The Washington Post, ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN fed a grotesque lie to the public, that Donald Trump colluded with Russia to subvert an American election.”
A similar fact pattern would emerge in many of the allegations — initial sourcing from opposition research or highly disreputable sources would be referenced by the FBI or other government agents in anonymous statements to the media, who would then parrot the claims as if they were credible because the FBI was investigating them.
These claims include:

<li>Allegations that Trump campaign advisors George Papadopoulos and Carter Page were Russian agents</li>
<li>Allegations that Trump had close ties to Russia and Vladimir Putin</li>
<li>Allegations that Trump was financially connected to the Russian Alfa-Bank</li>
</ul>
“There were 533,000 articles published about Russia and Trump during just the 22 months of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Trump’s alleged involvement with Russia,” Rindsberg noted.
The Washington Post and The New York Times were both awarded Pulitzer Prizes for their reporting on the Russian Collusion story, reporting that was later revealed to be poorly sourced from ideologically motivated actors or completely fabricated evidence such as the Steele Dossier. Neither organization returned their prizes, and there has been little coverage of Gersh’s exposé in the mainstream press.

“Journalism is no longer about gathering the facts and presenting an accurate picture of reality,” Rindsberg said.  “It’s about choosing sides.”
Rindsberg notes that this approach is the opposite of good journalism and it has completely destroyed the credibility of once-venerated outlets and institutions.
“The only Trump era collusion that has been proven was between the Mainstream Media, the Hillary Clinton Campaign, the Democratic Party, and elements within government agencies,” Rindsberg said. “Together, they did more to sow discord between Americans than Russia could have ever dreamed of doing on its own.”

Professor Gad Saad, despite what the pronunciation of his surname may suggest, is an unusually jovial man, who has given the subject of happiness a considerable amount of thought.
Saad grew up in an active war zone in Lebanon and has suffered career setbacks as a result of injury and his ideological stances, and he notes that everyone has a long list of setbacks and unpleasant experiences they’ve faced in life: “But I refuse to let life beat me down. I don’t want to be unhappy for five minutes longer than necessary – life is too short and too precious.”
To that end, Saad has proposed seven ways to maximize your happiness.

1. Find The Right Spouse
Marriage is arguably the most important relationship in any person&#8217;s life (rivaled only by a parent’s relationship with their children, which are ideally the product of marriage) and it is a relationship that is completely under your control, so when picking a spouse, choose wisely.
“He or she is also the person you are going to spend the most time with,” Saad notes. “Spending time with someone with whom you share values, who is your best friend, is bliss. Spending time with someone who doesn’t share your values is torture.”

2. Work Your Way To The Right Profession
Saad notes that most of the time that isn’t spent with your family is spent at work: “A job that you find fulfilling and meaningful means that you’re spending a good part of your day in a happy mental state. The opposite is also true – nothing, outside of a bad marriage, will make you more miserable than a workplace you can’t stand.”

3. Seek The Sweet Spot
On a wide variety of traits and behavior patterns, the optimal position is in the middle of two extremes: too much stress and you can become anxious and overwhelmed, too little and you can become apathetic and bored. Too little attention to detail and your work will be shoddy and second rate, too much perfectionism and you’ll struggle to finish anything to your own satisfaction.

4. Stay Playful
“Play is a human universal, found in all societies.” Saad notes that human beings are inherently motivated by play and need it – even growing up in the middle of a war torn city he and his friends found time to play. 
“You can’t work all the time, unless, of course, you can turn your work into play,&#8221; he says. &#8220;That’s the best of all possible worlds.”

5. Pursue Many Interests
Life offers many opportunities for happiness and fulfillment – friendships, hobbies, travel, study. Taking advantage of many of them and constantly expanding your horizons is a source of accomplishment and pleasure.
“Pursue knowledge across multiple disciplines. This is a truly enriching way to live your life.”

6. Be Persistent and Resilient
“Life is hard, but if we’re persistent enough, and resilient enough, we can use adversity to our advantage.” Being able to accept that there will be hardships and obstacles will help you overcome them and become a better and stronger person for it.
“Don’t be afraid to fail,” Saad says. “Failure is the way you learn.”

7. Minimize Regrets
Saad noted that a common regret expressed by people in hospice care is “I wish I let myself be happier.”
Saad argued that our happiness is largely within our own control, and that obsessing over things outside of your control and making decisions that actively make you unhappy is wasting a limited resource – time.
“Be happy. It’s a better way to live.”
