Earlier this week, people rallied around the man who claimed he left his three children at the restaurant playground to attend a job interview, raising money through a crowdfunding campaign. But now police say he &#8220;was not engaged in a job interview or application process&#8221; while his three children were left alone.
George Louis, 24, was arrested in Augusta on March 22 for deprivation of a minor after leaving the kids, ages 1, 6, and 10, alone at McDonald’s for a few hours. The Augusta Press reported that Louis had told police he was at a job interview. This caused an outpouring of support online from people who justified the man’s decision in order to improve his situation. 
Police are now saying the job interview story was untrue after they spoke to the eldest of Louis&#8217; children following the incident.
&#8220;A 10-year-old child, stated that she, her father (Chris Louis), and her two siblings had walked to McDonald’s from [an apartment complex],&#8221; the report said, per <a href="https://people.com/georgia-dad-left-kids-mcdonalds-not-job-interview-say-police-11708460">People</a>. &#8220;She further stated that her father left to deliver a backpack to [the apartment complex] and told her he would return shortly. The child also mentioned that her father frequently left them alone.&#8221;
Two witnesses said they heard Louis on the phone about 4:30 p.m. say he had to &#8220;drop something off.&#8221; This item was later stated to be a black backpack. Louis said &#8220;he lost his ID and another card and had been retracing his steps to find them,&#8221; per a <a href="https://www.augustachronicle.com/story/news/local/2025/04/02/augusta-father-disputed-alibi-in-child-neglect-case-spurs-fundraiser-mcdonalds-gofundme/82779661007/">statement</a> from Capt. Danny Whitehead of the Richmond County Sheriff&#8217;s Office Field Operations Division.
Law enforcement also visited the location when Louis said he applied for a job.
 “[The West Bank Inn manager] confirmed that Mr. Louis came in on March 22, 2025, and completed a job application,” police said. “She also conducted an informal interview with him on that date. When asked if Mr. Louis would be expecting a callback for a formal interview, she stated no,” the report continued. 
Police also questioned the timeline, saying security footage showed Louis leaving the West Bank Inn three hours before his children were observed alone at the McDonald’s.
“Based on the video evidence and the timeline provided by all parties involved, it was determined that Mr. Louis was not engaged in a job interview or application process during the time the children were left unattended,” the sheriff’s office reportedly said. “Furthermore, by his own admission, he was walking between McDonald’s and [an apartment complex] on foot during that period.”
The misdemeanor charge of deprivation of a minor &#8220;was appropriate to ensure the welfare of the children and facilitate a review of the matter by the court,&#8221; Whitehead concluded.
Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown started a GoFundMe to help Louis&#8217; cause.
“Story caught me by surprise. A dad just trying to find a way to make money for his family. I know he shouldn’t just leave his kids, but some people don’t have the means for babysitting, etc,” Brown wrote on GoFundMe, which is titled “Pursuit of Happiness.” 
As of Friday morning, the campaign had raised more than $83,000.

The final police report on Nashville&#8217;s deadly Covenant School shooting, released more than two years after the attack, claims the motive of the attack was &#8220;notoriety&#8221; and makes little mention of the shooter&#8217;s radical positions on gender, race, or religious animus.
While pages from the writings of the 28-year-old woman who murdered three children and three adults at The Covenant School in March 2023 demonstrate that she was fixated on gender ideology and &#8220;white privilege,&#8221; police <a href="https://www.nashville.gov/sites/default/files/2025-04/Covenant_Final_Summary.pdf?ct=1743609642" target="_blank" rel="noopener">say</a> that she was primarily motivated by a desire for notoriety. Investigators said that neither her <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/covenant-journal-revealed-my-imaginary-penis" target="_blank" rel="noopener">documented hatred</a> of Christianity or affluent white people played a role in her targeting of The Covenant School, a Presbyterian school in a wealthy area of Nashville.

&#8220;Regarding why she selected The Covenant, many have speculated [the shooter] selected this location for racial, religious, or economic motives,&#8221; the report said. &#8220;It is certainly true she raged over these topics at times in her writings. But none of those motives impacted her decision to attack The Covenant.&#8221;

Instead, the police said that Covenant was targeted because the attacker, who was killed by police, believed that she would receive greater notoriety by murdering young children. Three of the victims of the March 27, 2023, attack — Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, and William Kinney — were all just 9 years old. The other victims of the attack were adults Michael Hill, Katherine Koonce, and Cynthia Peak.

Throughout the report, police made little mention of the attacker&#8217;s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/covenant-shooter-cited-transgender-rights-in-shooting-spree-manifesto-contradicting-official-claims" target="_blank" rel="noopener">transgender identity</a>, only mentioning that she identified as a male and that she had made references to wanting to transition.

&#8220;It should be noted that in life, the offender &#8230; gender identified as a male and used he/him as preferred pronouns. Under Tennessee law, a person’s gender identity must correspond with their biological sex or with information present on their certificate of live birth,&#8221; police wrote. &#8220;As [the attacker] was a biological female at the time of her death and throughout the incidents described in this summary and in the case file, [the attacker] will be referred to as a female.&#8221;
In the only other mention of her transgender identity, investigators said that they uncovered no evidence of her undergoing any gender medical procedures.

&#8220;Nothing has been found to suggest she initiated or was undergoing a transition at the time of her death, including medical documentation,&#8221; police wrote. &#8220;During her autopsy following her death, it was determined she was biologically female.&#8221; 
These mentions don&#8217;t appear to fully take into account the attacker&#8217;s transgender identity, which dominated her life.
In journal entries previously published by The Daily Wire, the attacker wrote just weeks before the deadly shooting about her fantasy of having an “imaginary penis” and said that it was a &#8220;f***ing curse&#8221; that she was born a woman.
“I want to know what that’s like, but I never will because I was damned to be born this way,” she wrote in the journal of her desire to have a penis. “I swear to f*** I hate it so goddamned much. It’s a f***ing curse.”

She said that puberty ruined her life, lamenting the fact that her parents never put her on puberty blockers.
“A bare flat chest made me free. Girl puberty imprisoned me. And so does my mind. Puberty = life sentence. The people in this world adds more bullets to shoot violent thoughts into my head on full-auto,&#8221; she wrote.
In other journal entries, the attacker made clear her hatred of  Christianity and people with &#8220;white privilege,&#8221; which she believed hindered her development.
For example, she wrote that she wanted to kill “crackers going to private fancy schools&#8221; and explained why she rejected her parents&#8217; faith.
“Parents actually believe religion can change nature,” the shooter wrote. “That could explain why I don’t practice religion anymore. Let kids think for themselves, listening to parents does no damned good but to mold their premature minds into a pre-formatted program.”
These writings were portions from 16 notebooks, which some have referred to as her manifesto, and were the subject of a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/nashville-judge-appears-to-back-off-on-threats-to-punish-journalist-over-articles-on-covenant-shooter" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lengthy legal battle</a>. In their report, police denied the existence of a manifesto, saying that there was no singular &#8220;document explaining why she committed the attack, why she specifically targeted The Covenant, and what she hoped to gain, if anything, with the attack.&#8221;
Police investigators also ruled that the attacker was &#8220;sane&#8221; despite numerous mental health disorders.

&#8220;Despite all her assorted mental health disorders, [the attacker] was certainly sane,&#8221; police wrote. &#8220;She was capable of adjusting her plans as needed, manipulating others into seeing her as meek and nonthreatening, and fully understood her attack was not only criminal but morally reprehensible.&#8221;

Police say that the attacker first started to fantasize about carrying out a school shooting in 2017 before beginning to plan one in 2018.
&#8220;By this point, [the shooter] wrote how she was tired of being alone and ignored, ostracized by those she felt were her friends, and shunned by society for being autistic,&#8221; the police wrote. &#8220;After writing an expletive rant directed towards her &#8216;best friend&#8217; for choosing a relationship with a man over her, [the shooter] decided it was time to make others notice her for a change. She felt by &#8216;killing a bunch of children&#8217; she would no longer be ignored.&#8221;
Police said that the attacker floated in her mind a number of different targets, including various Nashville schools and malls. At one point, one of her plans was disrupted after her guns were confiscated by her parents, with whom she lived in Nashville.
She moved away from targeting one school because it was predominantly black, worrying that she &#8220;would be seen as a racist, which would affect how much control she had over the narrative after her death and allow others to state her motive behind the attack.&#8221;
Eventually, police say that she settled on the Covenant School because she believed she would receive more notoriety by attacking a Christian school and that the faith of the students would make them &#8220;meek and afraid.&#8221; She prepared for the attack for years, even going on a tour of the facility in September 2021 so she could map out the school&#8217;s layout in preparation.
Despite this conclusion, police said that the attacker never left behind any evidence of having a specific animosity for the Covenant School.
&#8220;She never remarked of being bullied and ostracized there; on the contrary, she remarked on a couple of occasions how she established friendships, which included play-dates at the homes of other children and a sense of acceptance,&#8221; police said. &#8220;She gave no examples of how anyone at the school belittled her or harmed her, as she did in other places she attended school.&#8220;
At the end of the report, investigators officially closed the investigation, saying that they identified no other individuals who were criminally culpable for the shooting.

An air traffic controller at Ronald Reagan National Airport in Arlington, Virginia, was arrested and charged with battery and assault last week after a fight broke out in the control tower.
The Daily Mail <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14548725/Air-traffic-controllers-fight-Reagan-National-Airport-control-tower.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> last Friday that two air traffic controllers began throwing punches after an argument. At least six air traffic controllers and a supervisor were likely working when the fight broke out. On Monday, POLITICO <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/news/air-traffic-controller-charged-scuffle-202004507.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that Damon Marsalis Gaines, 39, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, was arrested by airport authorities and charged in connection with the scuffle.
“The employee is on administrative leave while we investigate the matter,” the Federal Aviation Administration told <a href="https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/5225741-reagan-airport-controller-arrested/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Hill</a>. The FAA did not provide any further details about the charges or the nature of the fight in the air traffic control tower.
The arrest of an air traffic controller at DCA follows a deadly plane crash near the airport in January when an American Airlines flight with 64 people aboard collided with an Army Black Hawk helicopter over the Potomac River. While the investigation into the crash continues, authorities believe that DCA&#8217;s air traffic controllers properly warned the helicopter pilots about the inbound American Airlines flight.
National Transportation Safety Board Chairwoman Jennifer Homendy <a href="https://apnews.com/article/dc-plane-crash-investigation-ntsb-faa-9da42d267bf44049ecc57763961b0ac4#" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in February that the helicopter&#8217;s cockpit recorder appeared to indicate that incomplete radio transmission likely prevented the pilots from hearing air traffic controllers telling them to &#8220;pass behind&#8221; the passenger jet seconds before the collision.
Lawmakers have called for the U.S. military to stop conducting helicopter training runs near the busy airport, and the FAA has banned those particular helicopter routes when planes are flying into the shorter runway at DCA. During a Congressional hearing on the crash, both Republicans and Democrats agreed that the tragedy could have been prevented.

Jessica Aber, a former U.S. attorney nominated by former President Joe Biden who was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-nominated-former-u-s-attorney-found-dead-at-43" target="_blank" rel="noopener">found dead</a> at the age of 43 by police over the weekend in Virginia, had been experiencing health issues for years, Aber&#8217;s family said on Wednesday.
&#8220;It is with tremendous sorrow that we acknowledge the sudden passing of our beloved Jessica (Jess) Aber, who died in her sleep on Saturday, March 22,&#8221; Aber&#8217;s family <a href="https://x.com/MacFarlaneNews/status/1904936637932449822" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in a statement, per CBS News reporter Scott MacFarlane.
&#8220;Jess suffered from epilepsy and epileptic seizures for many years and on Tuesday, March 25, Alexandria (Virginia) Police said in a statement that they believe her death was the result of natural causes,&#8221; they added.
The Alexandria Police Department did provide an update on the investigation of Aber&#8217;s death on Tuesday.
&#8220;At this time, detectives have found no evidence suggesting that her death was caused by anything other than natural causes,&#8221; <a href="https://x.com/AlexandriaVAPD/status/1904651981936882045" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> police, who added that the case would remain open until the Officer of the Chief Medical Examiner returns &#8220;a final ruling on the cause and manner of death.&#8221;
In their statement, Aber&#8217;s family said they expect more information from the medical examiner in the coming weeks.
&#8220;Our family is in shock and grieving deeply and we respectfully request privacy as we attempt to navigate through our unspeakable loss,&#8221; Aber&#8217;s family said.

A former U.S. attorney nominated by former President Joe Biden was found dead over the weekend in Virginia, according to authorities.
&#8220;This morning, at approximately 9:18 a.m., Alexandria Police responded to the 900 block of Beverley Drive for the report of an unresponsive woman. Officers located a deceased woman,&#8221; the Alexandria Police Department said in a <a href="https://x.com/MarinaMedvin/status/1903561751683125400" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a> on Saturday.
&#8220;Following notification of family members, the Alexandria Police Department can confirm the identity of the woman as Ms. Jessica Aber, age 43, former U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia,&#8221; police added.
&#8220;As a matter of protocol, an investigation is underway surrounding the circumstances of her death,&#8221; the department said. &#8220;The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of Virginia will determine the cause and manner of death.&#8221;

What if everything you were told about the trial of Derek Chauvin was a lie?
Like everyone else in America, I first saw the tape of Derek Chauvin and George Floyd on May 25, 2020, what appeared at the time to be nine minutes of a police officer&#8217;s knee on Floyd&#8217;s neck.
Given the tape alone, I drew the same conclusions as most Americans. I tweeted that the police officer&#8217;s behavior was abhorrent. I called for his prosecution. I said that nobody is defending the actions we all witness.
So, it&#8217;s not as though I was initially a believer in Chauvin&#8217;s innocence. But over time, new evidence emerged. A lot of new evidence. And I realized I had done something absolutely wrong. I had rushed to judgment as new information was released: the full body camera footage, the complete autopsy findings, the Minneapolis Police Department training materials.
My viewpoint changed, and it changed dramatically. But for most Americans, their only opinion on the case was formed in the hours after the original tape broke. They didn&#8217;t know about the new evidence, or they didn&#8217;t care. The legacy media were deeply complicit in this. They didn&#8217;t cover the details of the autopsy, the details of the complete body camera footage, and the defense presentation at trial.
They let that original impression sit in the minds of the American people for years, and they did that for a reason. They had a predetermined narrative of the race-based guilt of Chauvin and, according to the Left, of white people everywhere.
Taking stock of these larger forces at play helps to make sense of the bias that continues to this day. The George Floyd narrative was set.
A racist white police officer murdered a black man in cold blood? Case closed. Evidence to the contrary? Irrelevant. MPD training protocols dismissed? Toxicology report ignored? Medical examiner&#8217;s findings about contributing factors? Conspiracy theories.

Consider, for example, ESPN&#8217;s Stephen A. Smith, who last week dismissed my call to revisit the Chauvin trial by declaring on his show that he “doesn&#8217;t care about the autopsy,” effectively admitting he doesn&#8217;t care about the facts or the truth.
This cavalier dismissal of medical evidence perfectly encapsulates how much of America approaches this case.
“See, you&#8217;re trying to go down the lane I wasn&#8217;t trying to go down,” Smith declared. “I&#8217;m not going to let you take me there, which is why I turned down your invitation to appear on your show. We&#8217;re not getting into all of the science and what the doctor said and an autopsy report, even though I just read it to you to some degree. We don&#8217;t have to go there.”
A proper analysis of any case requires examining all the available evidence, not just the parts that confirm preexisting narratives based on the first available information. The media, the politicians, and the prosecutors had no interest in presenting the complete picture. Judging by their reaction to the announcement of this series, they still don&#8217;t.
You&#8217;re not going to hear it from CNN. You&#8217;re not going to hear it from MSNBC. You certainly won&#8217;t hear it from politicians who built their careers on the back of this case. But you&#8217;ll hear it here, because unlike those who rendered judgment and moved on, I believe truth emerges when we&#8217;re willing to revise our positions in light of new information.
On March 4, 2025, I launched a petition called <a href="http://pardonderek.com">pardonderek.com</a>, calling on President Trump to exercise his constitutional authority to pardon former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin from his federal convictions in the death of George Floyd.
This isn&#8217;t just about one man, though the unjust conviction of one man should be enough. This is also about restoring the rule of law after a disgraceful period of politically motivated race and identity obsessed weaponization of the justice system.
Since returning to office, President Trump has been taking historic action to dismantle the radical ideological framework infecting our institutions. In just six weeks, he has signed nearly 100 executive orders and taken over 400 executive actions, declaring that America will be woke no longer. He&#8217;s systematically dismantling DEI programs across the federal government. He&#8217;s targeting what he calls the tyranny of diversity and forced so-called inclusion in our institutions. He has banned men from women&#8217;s sports, returning education to a merit-based system, and declared there are only two genders in America.
But all of this will remain incomplete if we don&#8217;t address the original sin that kickstarted the entire woke revolution, the match that lit the powder keg of woke insanity and then spread through every American institution like wildfire.
President Trump&#8217;s war on wokeness cannot be considered complete unless he addresses the fundamental injustice that started it all. Pardoning Chauvin is about making a definitive statement that the rule of law matters more than mob justice — that America is finally ready to correct the catastrophic error that sent our country spiraling into years of racial division and leftist cultural supremacy.
Of course, I understand that this is politically radioactive. I get it. I understand the entire American Left will completely melt down if President Trump were to do this. I get that the media will lose their collective minds.
But frankly, I don&#8217;t care, because justice should matter more than political expediency.

Dan Abrams: I’m a lawyer by training and I used that to quickly pivot into media, where I ended up covering some of the highest-profile criminal cases from the last three decades. That background is, I think, why the producers came to me to host what is now “<a href="https://www.reelz.com/show/on-patrol-live/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">On Patrol: Live</a>,” a live police show where we follow police departments in real time. This is a show that is different from any other police show out there because, unlike “Cops,” where it&#8217;s sort of a highlight reel of crazy moments, we’re actually live in eight or nine departments at once. So we&#8217;ll go to a department and we&#8217;ll see someone responding to a call and the officer doesn&#8217;t know what&#8217;s going to happen next. So, the audience joins the officers in that experience. I think that&#8217;s part of what makes the show so compelling.

2. The show was the #1 entertainment program on Friday and Saturday nights in 2024 and was picked up for 90 more episodes. Why do you think audiences are still drawn to &#8216;cop shows,&#8217; especially after efforts to cancel them in 2020?
Dan Abrams: People are interested in policing. There is an element of uncertainty throughout the show. Watching police engage with the community is something people have long been interested in. There&#8217;s no other place where they can see it in real time. As a result, we try to follow a mix of departments around the country to make this a really compelling show year after year. We look for both geographical diversity and diversity of the size of the department. We&#8217;re in everything from Las Vegas – one of the top 10 biggest police departments in America – to Hensley, Arkansas, where we ride with the chief of the department.

3. &#8216;Live PD&#8217; was canceled in 2020 following the George Floyd protests. You’ve been vocal about your frustration with that decision. What was that experience like, and how did it lead to &#8216;<a href="https://www.reelz.com/show/on-patrol-live/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">On Patrol: Live</a>&#8216;?
Dan Abrams: I thought it was a vast overreaction. That&#8217;s what I said when the show was cancelled – and I maintain it to this day. It&#8217;s important to talk about this because there&#8217;s going to be some other incident where a cop does something the cop shouldn&#8217;t have – and it might be really bad. And any good cop will tell you that the worst thing for good cops is a bad cop. No matter what career you&#8217;re talking about, considering there are hundreds of thousands of police officers around the country, you are going to have some bad cops. That doesn&#8217;t mean that the rest of the cops aren&#8217;t doing really good work.

<li>Why It Matters: Balanced perspectives are essential. In an era of quick, reactionary decisions, maintaining a steady and fair approach to evaluating law enforcement is crucial to understanding the complexities of policing.</li>

4. What’s your take on shifting public attitudes toward law enforcement in the last few years? Do you think the narrative is changing?
Dan Abrams: I think there’s been a recognition that the “Defund the Police” movement was absurd. It didn&#8217;t work. And that&#8217;s why liberal cities around the country are refunding the police and rehiring police officers. They realized it made no sense. I&#8217;ll tell you, as soon as “Live PD” was canceled, I received outreach from people asking me about the project. So, from a show perspective, I think it was really just a question of when. In the immediate months after the show went off the air, however, to many, the show would have been too hot – couldn&#8217;t do it, can&#8217;t risk it, don&#8217;t want to risk the protests, don&#8217;t want to risk the backlash. I do think that has faded to some degree.

<li>Why It Matters: Public safety requires practical solutions. Knee-jerk policy shifts have real-world consequences, and restoring balance between law enforcement and community trust is a vital ongoing effort.</li>

5. What’s next for you? Do you have any other projects in the works?
Dan Abrams: Well, I work on a lot of things. I host a daily radio show on Sirius XM on the POTUS channel. I&#8217;m still ABC News&#8217;s chief legal analyst. I own a company called Mediaite. I started &#8220;Law and Crime.&#8221; I&#8217;ve got a spirits company called Bottle Raiders, where we have an app that aggregates ratings of fine spirits and non-alcoholic drinks. So I&#8217;ve got my hand in a lot of projects, but “<a href="https://www.reelz.com/show/on-patrol-live/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">On Patrol: Live</a>” is a passion project for me.

There is one person that President Trump should pardon from federal charges forthwith. It would be incredibly controversial, but I think it is absolutely necessary.
That person is Derek Chauvin. President Trump should pardon Chauvin of federal charges. If we are talking about reversing the evils of the last several years in American life, COVID and its handling was obviously a massive evil; it destroyed the economy, set us on a path to fiscal insanity, disrupted children’s education and lives, and led to massive health-related cover-ups. It was horrifying all the way around.
But when it came to Black Lives Matter, the inciting event for the BLM riots that <a href="https://fee.org/articles/george-floyd-riots-caused-record-setting-2-billion-in-damage-new-report-says-here-s-why-the-true-cost-is-even-higher/">caused</a> $2 billion in property damage in the United States and set America&#8217;s race relations on their worst footing in my lifetime was the railroading of Chauvin in the death of George Floyd.
The evidence demonstrates that Chauvin did not, in fact, commit murder of Floyd. Floyd was high on fentanyl and had a significant preexisting heart condition. Floyd began saying he could not breathe while still in the car. Chauvin, for a large segment of the tape footage of the incident, had his knee on Floyd&#8217;s shoulder or back, not on his neck.
The autopsy of Floyd showed that he had no damage to his trachea, and he likely died of excited delirium. Even at trial, there were no accusations that Chauvin had committed a hate crime against or targeted Floyd because of his race.

Nonetheless, on the basis of extraordinarily scanty evidence and while there was massive pressure on the jury, the mayor of Minneapolis paid a settlement to the Floyd family. Jurors were being openly threatened and admitted as much. In the end, Chauvin was convicted on federal charges, pleading guilty to federal charges. 
Chauvin should be pardoned on those federal charges. It is worthwhile to remember that there is a man who is rotting in prison because the media decided — in the middle of 2020 — to turn a tragic law enforcement stop that ended with the death of a man (who had a significant problem with drugs and preexisting health problems) into the raison d’être of the entire 2020 election.
It led to vast chaos. It led to the destruction of racial comity in the United States, $2 billion in property damage, and a man rotting in prison who, the evidence demonstrates, certainly was not guilty beyond reasonable doubt in that case.
President Trump should really seriously consider pardoning Chauvin from federal charges.

Dear President Trump,
We write to urge you to immediately issue a pardon for Officer Derek Chauvin, who was unjustly convicted and is currently serving a 22-and-a-half year sentence for the murder of George Floyd and associated federal charges.
As you know, this was the inciting event for the BLM riots that caused $2 billion in property damage in cities across the United States and set America’s race relations on their worst footing in recent memory. Yet the evidence demonstrates that Derek Chauvin did not murder George Floyd.
George Floyd was high on fentanyl. He had a significant pre-existing heart condition. He was saying he could not breathe before he was even out of the car. Derek Chauvin, for large segments of the widely circulated video of the encounter, had his knee on George Floyd’s shoulder or back, not on his neck; this was confirmed by the autopsy, which showed no damage to George Floyd’s trachea. There was no accusation at trial that Derek Chauvin targeted George Floyd for his race.
Perhaps most significantly, there was massive overt pressure on the jury to return a guilty verdict regardless of the evidence or any semblance of impartial deliberation. This pressure took the form of threats, coercion, and intimidation. The Mayor of Minneapolis pre-judged the outcome of the trial and immediately issued a large settlement to the Floyd family. Then-President Biden, Congresswoman Maxine Waters, and others pre-judged the outcome of the trial and took to national media to create pressure on the jury to go along with their preferred narrative.
Under these circumstances, there was no opportunity for blind justice to work, and a man is now rotting in prison because of it.
Make no mistake—the Derek Chauvin conviction represents the defining achievement of the Woke movement in American politics. The country cannot turn the page on that dark, divisive, and racist era without righting this terrible wrong.

Pardon Derek Chauvin: My Letter To Donald Trump

Luigi Mangione, the 26-year-old man accused of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO and father of two Brian Thompson, said in a filing on Friday that Pennsylvania police broke the law when they arrested him in December.
In a filing on Friday, Mangione&#8217;s lawyer claimed that police in Altoona, Pennsylvania, did not read Mangione his Miranda rights, which is required by the U.S. Constitution, Bloomberg <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-02-28/luigi-mangione-says-pennsylvania-search-arrest-were-illegal" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. Mangione was arrested by police at a McDonald&#8217;s in Altoona on December 9 after a customer reportedly recognized him from “person of interest” pictures posted by the NYPD following the murder of Thompson on December 4.
According to defense attorney Thomas Dickey, police provided a “specious and unreasonable reason” for approaching Mangione, telling him he overstayed his welcome as a patron and looked suspicious. Dickey claimed that police never gave a reason for detaining his client and asked him questions before reading him his constitutional rights, Bloomberg <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-02-28/luigi-mangione-says-pennsylvania-search-arrest-were-illegal" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
Police questioned Mangione for 15 minutes before telling him he was under investigation, according to the filing. Asked if he wanted to speak to police, Mangione shook his head no before an officer told him, “You are not in custody,” Dickey said. The defense attorney added, “This statement was materially false, inaccurate and contrary to law. It is clear at this time that the defendant was in fact in custody.”
After Mangione was arrested at the McDonald&#8217;s, authorities found a notebook, where written inside were mentions of taking out “the CEO at the annual parasitic bean-counter convention.” In Mangione&#8217;s backpack, police also allegedly found a 9mm homemade handgun, a manifesto, and the same fake New Jersey ID that was used by the person of interest at a Manhattan hostel before Thompson was gunned down on the street. The manifesto included criticism of Thompson prioritizing profit over patients, according to authorities.
Mangione was extradited to New York where he faces murder and terrorism charges brought against him by the state and the federal government. The federal murder charges make Mangione eligible for the death penalty. Mangione has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges. The murder suspect has received <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/suspected-assassin-luigi-mangione-accepts-nearly-300k-in-donations-for-legal-defense" target="_blank" rel="noopener">support</a> from fans in the form of hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations to his criminal defense and a deluge of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/luigi-mangione-accused-of-ceos-murder-asks-fans-to-stop-sending-so-many-pics" target="_blank" rel="noopener">photos</a> sent to him.

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi instructed the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division on Wednesday to drop numerous discrimination lawsuits filed against police and fire departments across the United States under the Biden administration.
In a <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/attorney-general-pam-bondi-dismisses-dei-lawsuits-involving-police-officers-and-firefighters" target="_blank" rel="noopener">press release</a>, the DOJ said the lawsuits went after police and fire departments for using standard aptitude tests in the hiring process. The DOJ said there was &#8220;no evidence of intentional discrimination — only statistical disparities&#8221; in the tests, adding that the Biden administration &#8220;branded the aptitude tests at issue in these cases as discriminatory in an effort to advance a DEI agenda.&#8221;
One suit, filed against the City of Durham, North Carolina, last October, alleged that the city engaged in &#8220;unintentional&#8221; discrimination against black candidates because white candidates passed the written test at a higher rate than black candidates, Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/ag-bondi-dismisses-dei-lawsuits-brought-against-four-police-fire-departments-biden-administration" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. In another lawsuit, the Maryland State Police were accused of &#8220;illegally discriminating against Black applicants and women&#8221; because the Civil Rights Division concluded that &#8220;Black applicants passed the test less often than White applicants and because women passed the physical test less often than men.&#8221;
Similar lawsuits were brought against the jurisdictions of South Bend, Indiana, and Cobb County, Georgia, according to Fox News. Per Bondi&#8217;s directive on Wednesday, however, those cases will be dismissed.
Bondi blasted the previous administration&#8217;s focus on DEI policies, saying, &#8220;American communities deserve firefighters and police officers to be chosen for their skill and dedication to public safety – not to meet DEI quotas.&#8221; The DOJ added that the &#8220;dismissal is an early step toward eradicating illegal DEI preferences across the government and in the private sector.&#8221;
The Trump administration has pushed to eliminate DEI positions and programs within the federal government.
&#8220;The Biden Administration forced illegal and immoral discrimination programs, going by the name &#8216;diversity, equity, and inclusion&#8217; (DEI), into virtually all aspects of the Federal Government, in areas ranging from airline safety to the military,&#8221; a day-one <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/ending-radical-and-wasteful-government-dei-programs-and-preferencing/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">executive order</a> from Trump stated. The order then ordered all agencies to &#8220;terminate, to the maximum extent allowed by law, all DEI, DEIA, and &#8216;environmental justice&#8217; offices and positions.&#8221;
