<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Former Canadian Olympic snowboarder turned alleged drug trafficker Ryan Wedding has been arrested.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Attorney General Pam Bondi praised President Trump’s “law and order leadership” for helping to make the arrest possible. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“At my direction, Department of Justice agents @FBI have apprehended yet another member of the FBI’s Top Ten Most Wanted List: Ryan Wedding, the onetime Olympian snowboarder-turned alleged violent cocaine kingpin,” Bondi wrote in an X post. “Wedding was flown to the United States where he will face justice. This is a direct result of President Trump’s law-and-order leadership. Under @POTUS, criminals have no safe harbor.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The AG went on to thank FBI director Kash Patel, Ambassador Ron Johnson, and Mexican authorities for their assistance to capture one of the FBI’s “Ten Most Wanted” fugitives.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Patel also posted about Wedding’s capture, adding in some details about the former Olympian’s alleged crimes. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Wedding is believed to have been hiding in Mexico for over a decade &#8211; and has been wanted on charges for cocaine trafficking and murder since 2024,” Patel wrote.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“He was allegedly running and participating in a transnational drug trafficking operation that routinely shipped hundreds of kilograms of cocaine from Colombia, through Mexico and Southern California to the United States and Canada &#8211; as a member of the Sinaloa Cartel.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The FBI director also praised President Trump’s leadership and strong law and order stance. “This is the SIXTH Top Ten Most Wanted Fugitive this FBI has captured within a year &#8211; fugitives who had been on the run for almost 40 years combined. That’s no accident. President Trump is letting good cops be cops and the results speak for themselves,” he wrote on X. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“This is a huge day for a safer North America, and the world, and a message that those who break our laws and harm our citizens will be brought to justice.”</span></p>

His case went to trial, and he was found guilty and sentenced to four years in prison.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The latest indictment says that Wedding’s latest drug crimes began in 2011, after he was released from jail. Along with drug trafficking, Wedding is accused of murdering multiple people over drug feuds.</span></p>

<p>An Olympic silver medalist is no longer staying quiet. After MyKayla Skinner&#8217;s former USA Gymnastics teammate, Simone Biles, attacked Riley Gaines this summer, she is not afraid to speak out anymore.</p>
<p>&#8220;We shouldn&#8217;t let transgender men be in women&#8217;s sports. How can you be one of the best athletes in the world and think that it&#8217;s okay for that to happen? They&#8217;re literally not competing because they don&#8217;t want to go up against a man,&#8221; she told The Daily Wire.</p>

<p>Skinner is now calling on the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to ban transgender athletes.</p>
<p>&#8220;I hope that they make a change and that it does happen. Because it&#8217;s not fair, it&#8217;s not right. It&#8217;s just sad to think that we even have to vote on this. Us women work so hard, especially being in the Olympics,&#8221; Skinner added.</p>
<p>The IOC, under its new president, <a href="https://x.com/iocmedia/status/1938227406805880959?s=20">Kirsty Coventry</a>, created a Working Group on the protection of the female category this summer. An IOC spokesperson told The Daily Wire that a final decision on banning men from the women&#8217;s category has yet to be reached.</p>
<p>&#8220;An update was given by the IOC’s Director of Health, Medicine and Science to the IOC Members during the recent IOC commission meetings,&#8221; the spokesperson said. &#8220;The working group is continuing its discussions on this topic and no decisions have been taken yet. Further information will be provided in due course.”</p>
<p>Skinner said having discussions on whether men should compete in the Olympics against women is &#8220;mind-blowing.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;It shouldn&#8217;t even be an issue. I couldn&#8217;t imagine having to compete against a male and getting medals stripped,&#8221; The Olympian continued. &#8220;Especially having a daughter, she&#8217;s gonna be raised in this next generation, and I want her to have an even playing field like I had. Like we all had on the Olympic team.&#8221;</p>
<p>During the 2024 Olympics, the IOC dismissed gender tests for Imane Khelif as not legitimate. The Algerian boxer came under scrutiny for competing in the women&#8217;s category, winning gold, even though an independent analysis in 2023 revealed a &#8220;male karyotype,&#8221; according to <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/boxing/2025/06/01/imane-khelif-medical-report-proves-biological-male/">The Telegraph</a>.</p>
<p>Since then, other sports organizations have required sex testing to ensure fair competition. In August, <a href="https://worldboxing.org/world-boxing-confirms-mandatory-sex-testing-will-apply-in-the-female-category-at-the-inaugural-world-boxing-championships-2025/">World Boxing</a> announced mandatory sex testing for boxers wanting to compete in their competitions. Khelif has refused to take the test and appealed the rule. He hasn&#8217;t boxed in a World Boxing event since the testing was put in place.</p>
<p>&#8220;Watching the last Olympics, it was just so crazy that we&#8217;re experiencing this,&#8221; Skinner said. &#8220;We&#8217;re watching it, we&#8217;re witnessing it, it just shouldn&#8217;t be happening. We shouldn&#8217;t have to be competing against trans biological men. Girls need to have a safe place. That&#8217;s what I want for my daughter and the next generation to have.&#8221;</p>

<p>Coventry, the first female IOC President, wasn&#8217;t in power in 2024, but since being elected, she has said she wants fair competition.</p>
<p>“There was overwhelming support from all of the Members who were present here, and those who were able to share with us before they left, that we should <a href="https://www.olympics.com/ioc/news/ioc-president-coventry-announces-two-working-groups-to-strengthen-future-host-election-process-and-protection-of-the-female-category">protect the female category,</a>&#8221; Coventry said.</p>

His action reaffirmed the longstanding belief that women’s sports must be preserved for biological females.&#8221;</p>

<p>While the IOC deliberates, Skinner wants more athletes to publicly state that men should not be in women&#8217;s sports.</p>
<p>&#8220;I would love to see more athletes, my Olympic teammates, Team USA National Team members, join this fight and stand up, because I didn&#8217;t have to go through this. If this is something that you&#8217;re really passionate about, just find the courage deep down inside, and just speak up.&#8221;</p>
<p>It took Skinner longer than she would like to admit to speak out on this issue. She was scared of being canceled, but said the amount of support she&#8217;s received has been overwhelmingly more than hate.</p>
<p>&#8220;I feel like I can finally use my platform to do something good. That&#8217;s the most important thing to me. I hope by showing that, it will really give all these athletes the courage to do the same.&#8221;</p>
<p>The IOC told The Daily Wire that no date has been set to vote on a transgender ban.</p>

<p>“My question is whether you think they should compete in women&#8217;s sport in the Olympics,” Morgan interrupted. “It&#8217;s coming to L.A., so it&#8217;s relevant.”</p>
<p>“I think transgender female athletes are women athletes,” Yee declared. “And they should be able to compete.”</p>
<p>“Wow,” Morgan responded. “Really? So if you were Governor of California, you would support biological males who identify as women competing in women’s sport in the Olympics?”</p>
<p>Nodding her head slightly, Yee continued, “They are now identifying as transgender female —”</p>
<p>“You think that makes them — and you think it’s fair that they should then compete in women’s sport?” Morgan asked again.</p>
<p>When asked directly why the sexes were separated in sport to begin with, Yee acknowledged that there were physical differences between men and women — but did not alter her position on trans-identifying men competing alongside women.</p>
<p>Morgan continued to press until he finally suggested that she might prefer a “gender neutral” Olympics — and Yee lamented that it wouldn’t be “tomorrow,” but was still “a conversation worth having.”</p>

It was America at its best: scrappy, underestimated, and absolutely unwilling to quit.</p>

The U.S. had last won the gold medal in 1960; the Soviets had won every gold medal after that, in 1964, 1968, 1972, and 1976.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;" data-start="2365" data-end="2562">The bill pays homage to that historic moment, noting that the victory aired to more than 34 million Americans, inspired a generation of athletes, and forever changed the game of hockey in the U.S.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;" data-start="2564" data-end="2855">Since 1980, American hockey registrations have jumped from 136,000 to more than 564,000, and the number of U.S.-born NHL players has more than tripled. The ripple effects of “the Miracle” are still being felt today — on NHL ice, in youth leagues, and now in the annals of congressional history.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;" data-start="2857" data-end="2983">Perhaps most powerful are the words of the late Coach Brooks, who famously told his team before facing the Soviets: “You were born to be hockey players … and you were meant to be here.”</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;" data-start="3056" data-end="3153">They were. And now, thanks to this bill, Congress has said they were also meant to be remembered.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;" data-start="3155" data-end="3472">The timing couldn’t be more poignant. The 1980 team played against the backdrop of stagflation, gas shortages, a hostage crisis in Iran, and a demoralized national mood. The Cold War was peaking, the Soviet Union had just invaded Afghanistan, and Americans were wondering whether their best days were behind them.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;" data-start="3474" data-end="3619">Then came a puck drop, a roar in Lake Placid, and a stunned Soviet squad skating off the ice. In that moment, American grit beat Soviet strength.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;" data-start="3621" data-end="4043">Now the bill — which had near-unanimous support in the House and Senate — lands on President Trump’s desk, where it is widely expected to be signed without delay.</p>

<p>WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Tuesday establishing a task force that will handle the 2028 Summer Olympic Games.</p>
<p>The president signed the order in the South Court Auditorium in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building on Tuesday afternoon, where he shared that the new White House Olympics task force will handle the security at the Olympics and other issues pertinent to the massive event. The Olympics task force will be comprised of Trump&#8217;s cabinet and administration members.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“During his first term, President Trump was instrumental in securing America’s bid to host the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles,&#8221; White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt shared in a statement ahead of the signing. &#8220;The President considers it a great honor to oversee this global sporting spectacle in his second term. Sports is one of President Trump’s greatest passions, and his athletic expertise, combined with his unmatched hospitality experience, will make these Olympic events the most exciting and memorable in history.”</p>
<p>Casey Wasserman, the chair and president of LA28, the Los Angeles Organizing Committee for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, expressed his appreciation to Trump and the White House on Tuesday &#8220;their leadership and unwavering support,&#8221; describing the upcoming event as &#8220;the largest and most ambitious Olympic and Paralympic Games ever hosted in the United States.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Since we secured this historic opportunity in 2017, President Trump has consistently recognized the magnitude of our responsibility in welcoming the world to Los Angeles,&#8221; Wasserman said. &#8220;The creation of this task force marks an important step forward in our planning efforts and reflects our shared commitment to delivering not just the biggest, but the greatest Games the world has ever seen in the summer of 2028.”</p>
<p>In July, the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee quietly changed its policy in July to comply with the president’s executive order banning men from competing against women, a major win for conservatives and the White House.</p>

The guidance calls for the Department of Homeland Security to develop policies to block male international athletes from competing against women in the United States.</p>
<p>A USCIS spokesman told The Daily Wire that the president’s February executive order was the catalyst for the agency’s decision. That order directed that all funds be rescinded from “educational programs that deprive women and girls of fair athletic opportunities,” saying that allowing men in women’s sports is “demeaning, unfair, and dangerous to women and girls, and denies women and girls the equal opportunity to participate and excel in competitive sports.”</p>

<p>The U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee quietly changed its policy this week to comply with President Donald Trump&#8217;s executive order and ban men from competing against women.</p>
<p>The move marks another major win for conservatives and the Trump administration, who have fought to protect women&#8217;s sports. The committee, which posted an update to its Athlete Safety Policy on Monday, stated that it would &#8220;continue to collaborate with various stakeholders with oversight responsibilities &#8230; to ensure that women have a fair and safe competition environment consistent with Executive Order 14201 and the Ted Stevens Olympic &amp; Amateur Sports Act,&#8221; NBC News <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/sports/olympics/us-olympic-paralympic-committee-will-comply-trumps-ban-transgender-wom-rcna220369">reported</a>.</p>
<p>Executive Order 14201 refers to Trump&#8217;s &#8220;<a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/02/keeping-men-out-of-womens-sports/">Keeping Men Out of Women&#8217;s Sports</a>&#8221; action that he signed on February 5. The U.S. Olympic Committee&#8217;s updated policy flew under the radar when the change was made on Monday since it does not mention the word &#8220;transgender&#8221; in any of its 27 pages. The committee confirmed that the men are now banned from competing against women, saying it held “a series of respectful and constructive conversations with federal officials” after Trump signed the executive order, according to <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/07/22/us/politics/us-olympics-trans-women-athletes-ban-trump.html">The New York Times</a>.</p>
<p>The U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee&#8217;s decision doesn&#8217;t necessarily mean that other countries will prevent men from competing in women&#8217;s sports, but the committee said it would work with international groups, such as the International Olympic Committee, to focus on providing safe and fair environments for women. The next Summer Olympic Games will be held in the United States under Trump&#8217;s watch in 2028. The 2026 Winter Olympics will be hosted by Italy.</p>
<p>In the 2024 Summer Games, Imane Khelif of Algeria, a boxer who had failed gender tests, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/boxer-who-failed-gender-tests-wins-gold-in-womens-boxing-without-dropping-single-round-entire-olympic-run">dominated</a> the women&#8217;s welterweight division and won the gold medal. Khelif&#8217;s success in Paris drew outrage across the globe. In 2021, trans-identifying man Laurel Hubbard of New Zealand competed against women in weightlifting in the Tokyo Games, but Hubbard did not compete in Paris. Chelsea Wolfe, a man who identifies as a woman, was also at the Tokyo Olympics as a reserve cyclist for the U.S. women’s BMX Freestyle team.</p>
<p>Recent <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/poll-americans-oppose-trans-women-competing-female-sports-2-3-gen-z-rcna203658">polling</a> from NBC News showed that a vast majority (75%) of Americans do not want trans-identifying men competing against women in female sports. That included two out of three people in Gen Z, who want women&#8217;s sports to be protected from men.</p>

<p>Simone Biles apologized to Riley Gaines on Tuesday for their online spat over trans-identifying males in women&#8217;s sports, the Olympic gymnast adding that she believes the current women&#8217;s sports system is &#8220;flawed.&#8221;</p>
<p>The two athletes clashed on Friday when Biles attacked Gaines seemingly out of the blue, calling the former University of Kentucky swimmer a &#8220;sore loser&#8221; and telling her to &#8220;bully someone your own size, which would ironically be a male.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I wanted to follow up from my last tweets,&#8221; Biles posted Tuesday on X. &#8220;I’ve always believed competitive equity &amp; inclusivity are both essential in sport. The current system doesn’t adequately balance these important principles, which often leads to frustration and heated exchanges, and it didn’t help for me to get personal with Riley, which I apologize for.&#8221;</p>

<p>Biles had initially responded to a post from Gaines last week criticizing a high school girls&#8217; softball team that won a state championship after the team&#8217;s trans-identifying male pitcher <a href="https://cbsaustin.com/news/nation-world/transgender-pitcher-leads-champlin-park-to-win-sparking-controversy-in-minnesota-sports" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pitched</a> five straight games in which he gave up just one run.</p>

<p>Gaines added that she agrees that the blame is on lawmakers and leaders, which she said is why she is suing the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and joined President Donald Trump when he signed an executive order on women&#8217;s sports.</p>
<p>&#8220;I didn&#8217;t see you there or championing this effort with your platform,&#8221; Gaines told Biles, adding that she welcomes Biles to the &#8220;fight to support fair sports and a future for female athletes. Little girls deserve the same shot to achieve that you had.&#8221;</p>

<p>“A humanitarian, an Olympian, and two time heavyweight champion of the world, He was deeply respected — a force for good, a man of discipline, conviction, and a protector of his legacy, fighting tirelessly to preserve his good name— for his family,” the post continued. “We are grateful for the outpouring of love and prayers, and kindly ask for privacy as we honor the extraordinary life of a man we were blessed to call our own.”</p>
<p>Born in Texas in 1949, Foreman grew up in a dangerous part of Houston known as the Fifth Ward, or “the Bloody Fifth,” he <a href="https://www.esquire.com/sports/interviews/a2396/wil0104foreman/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> Esquire in 2006. Growing up poor, he turned to petty crime and dropped out of high school, but at age 16, he joined the Job Corps, a career training and education program for low-income teens and young adults. He earned his GED and learned carpentry and bricklaying while also training to become a boxer, People Magazine <a href="https://people.com/george-foreman-dead-championship-boxer-grill-pitchman-dies-at-76-8599492?hid=bb40b7766de1e1594ae0d3da5a0bed36e763e415&amp;did=17000070-20250322&amp;utm_campaign=ppl_relationship-builder&amp;utm_source=ppl&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_content=032225&amp;lctg=bb40b7766de1e1594ae0d3da5a0bed36e763e415&amp;lr_input=db17e7efc2371c238dc4d77526ed336aeb6eaeb0a4e7d2eb5082a24a233bc6ca&amp;utm_term=breaking-news" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.</p>
<p>“I went into boxing at the age of 17 to lose weight and become a great street fighter,” he <a href="https://ringsidereport.com/?p=67072" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> Ringside Report in 2000. “Next thing I know, I was fighting as a Golden Glover. It basically all happened as an accident.”</p>
<p>Foreman was just 19 years old when he won a gold medal at the Mexico City Olympic Games in 1968.</p>
<p>“Winning that gold medal at the end, I wanted the whole world to know where I was from, so I picked up a small American flag and paraded around the ring to make sure they knew,” he <a href="https://ontheropesboxing.com/george-foreman-ive-never-gone-in-the-ring-with-anyone-as-courageous-as-muhammad-ali/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> boxing radio show “On The Ropes” in 2023. “This was my chance to represent my country. That was greater to me than even winning the boxing matches.”</p>
<p>In 1969, Foreman became a professional boxer, winning all of his 13 fights in his first year and all of his 12 fights the next year. He won a total of 32 fights without losing by the end of 1971. In 1973, he faced World Heavyweight Champion Joe Frazier and won by total knockout, <a href="https://andscape.com/features/foreman-frazier-at-50-revisiting-the-shocking-iconic-heavyweight-title-fight/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">admitting</a> to ESPN’s Andscape in 2023 that the only person he feared was Frazier.</p>
<p>Foreman went on to defend the title against Jose Roman and Ken Norton. In 1974, Foreman battled the great Muhammad Ali in a fight referred to as “the Rumble in the Jungle.” Ali defeated Foreman despite being the huge underdog.</p>
<p>The loss crushed Foreman, who <a href="https://man.vogue.me/lifestyle/sports/george-foreman-muhammad-ali-rumble-in-the-jungle/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> Vogue Man Arabia in 2019 that he “lost everything I ever was” after that fight. “It was the most devastating event in my life as an athlete. I was not even a man no more,” he added.</p>
<p>Foreman retired from boxing in 1977, but returned in 1987 following financial struggles. He lost two title fights in 1991 and 1993, but reclaimed his title in 1994 after beating Michael Moorer.</p>
<p>After winning that fight, he became a more public figure and celebrity, launching the successful George Foreman Grill in 1994. The grill has since sold more than 100 million units worldwide.</p>
<p>Foreman officially retired from boxing in 1999, but continued to his celebrity appearances, including a 12-episode comedy travel show with Henry Winkler, William Shatner, and Terry Bradshaw called “Better Late Than Never.”</p>
<p>Foreman had 12 children; seven daughters (one of whom, Freeda, died in 2019) and five sons all named George.</p>
<p>&#8220;I named all my sons George Edward Foreman so they would always have something in common,&#8221; Foreman wrote on the “Did You Know?” <a href="https://www.georgeforeman.com/pages/did-you-know" target="_blank" rel="noopener">section</a> of his website. &#8220;I say to them, &#8216;If one of us goes up, then we all go up together. And if one goes down, we all go down together!'&#8221;</p>
<p>Foreman was married five times, and is survived by his wife Mary Joan Martelly and his 11 children.</p>

<p>President Donald Trump expects his Executive Order banning men from women&#8217;s sports to be the starting point of a &#8220;very public pressure campaign&#8221; to make sure the practice is over before the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said.</p>
<p>&#8220;He does expect the Olympic Committee and the NCAA to no longer allow men to compete in women&#8217;s sports,&#8221; Leavitt told The Daily Wire during Wednesday&#8217;s briefing. &#8220;I think the President with the signing of his pen starts a very public pressure campaign on these organizations to do the right thing for women and for girls across the country.&#8221;</p>
<p>Trump is expected to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-order-protecting-womens-sports-will-reportedly-extend-to-colleges" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sign</a> an executive order Wednesday banning trans-identifying males from women&#8217;s sports in schools and colleges. This follows similar orders affirming that there are only two genders, and pulling federal funding from so-called gender transition procedures for minors.</p>
<p>&#8220;This is an incredibly popular position,&#8221; Leavitt said of Wednesday&#8217;s order. &#8220;There have been many notable female athletes who have had the courage to speak out against some very powerful institutions in this country. They deserve to have a voice and a say. The President is bringing their voice to the highest level at the White House this afternoon, and he expects these organizations to comply with this federal executive order that he&#8217;ll be signing today.”</p>

<p>Galvanized by Trump&#8217;s push to protect women&#8217;s sports and spaces, congressional Republicans have redoubled their efforts to do the same. Hours before Trump signed his order Wednesday, Senator Tommy Tuberville (AL) <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/exclusive-tuberville-moves-to-protect-womens-olympic-sports-from-trans-identifying-males">introduced</a> a bill that would bar biological males from competing against women in the Olympics.</p>
<p>“Men should not be competing in women’s sports at any level,” Tuberville told The Daily Wire, which first reported the bill. “We were all deeply disturbed last summer to see videos of men boxing against women in the Olympics. This is not only dangerous but it is incredibly unfair to the young women who have trained their whole lives to compete.”</p>
<p>In October 2024, The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trans-identifying-males-are-cleaning-up-in-female-sports-this-un-report-quantifies-the-damage">reported</a> that female athletes lost nearly 900 medals to biological males who identified as &#8220;transgender&#8221; women.</p>
<p>One athlete, former NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines, emerged as an early and fierce advocate for women&#8217;s sports. Gaines is expected to join the president Wednesday as he signs his executive order. Hours before the signing, she addressed the Republican Study Committee and urged them to keep up the fight against women&#8217;s sports.</p>
<p>&#8220;Men do not belong in women’s sports. You know that, I know that, and the American people certainly confirmed they know that,&#8221; Gaines told The Daily Wire ahead of the signing.</p>
