<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Actress Olivia Munn has divided the internet over her decision to allow her toddler son to walk the streets of New York City without shoes on.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The “Your Friends &amp; Neighbors” star, who is married to comedian John Mulaney, discussed the incident in a lengthy Instagram post accompanied by a photo.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Yes, this is my 3-year-old walking through the streets of New York in only his socks,” she wrote in the post shared last week.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“I’m posting this for all the parents who thought it would be great to take advantage of the beautiful weather and took their toddler on a walk only for them to lie down screaming on the floor of Whole Foods, run through the aisles of CVS screaming ‘I don’t like anyone!!’ and knocked over your iced tea before your first sip, all while carrying your 7-month-old strapped to your body,” Munn continued.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“After all of that, he insisted on walking home without his shoes,” she wriote. “And in a moment which I can only describe as total exhaustion, I said okay. So we walked over a mile home with only socks… through every street in NY.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The actress concluded, “This Easter Monday will live in infamy in my memory as the day I tried my absolute best, got us home without another tantrum and learned that the rubber padding on toddler socks can only take so much. Cheers to anyone else who went through this today or any other day. You have my utmost respect.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The post led to a ton of both positive and negative comments, with some parents expressing their disgust and horror at letting a young child do something so dangerous. Others stood up in solidarity with Munn and shared toddler tantrum stories of their own.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“But you make it sound like you were alone dealing with this situation — so who was on hand to take the photo? Sort of detracts from the entire story if you had another set of hands to help the entire time,” one commenter noted.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Who is taking your photo but not helping you?!” another person echoed.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Letting your child be exposed to disgusting dirt and whatever else is on their streets including sharp objects&#8230; really stupid idea,” said a third.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The 43-year-old “X-Men: Apocalypse” </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities"><span style="font-weight: 400;">star</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> has been in a relationship with comedian John Mulaney since 2021 and shares a son with him. Munn <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/olivia-munn-reveals-breast-cancer-diagnosis">revealed</a> in March that she had been diagnosed with &#8220;aggressive, fast moving&#8221; breast cancer last year and had undergone four surgeries including a double mastectomy.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The actress said during an interview with </span><a href="https://www.vogue.com/article/olivia-munn-exclusive-interview-vogue"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Vogue</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> that she had her eggs frozen for the third time in hopes of having more children despite having a full hysterectomy. She previously had the procedure at 33, 39, and again, most recently, at 42.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“It&#8217;s interesting because my 33-year-old eggs were great. My 39-year-old eggs? None of them worked,&#8221; Munn told the outlet. &#8220;As you get older, one month can have great eggs, the other not so much.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;Clearly, the month we did at 39 was not a good month,” she added. “After my diagnosis, we decided to try one more round of egg retrievals and hoped it was a good month. John and I talked about it a lot and we don&#8217;t feel like we&#8217;re done growing our family, but didn&#8217;t know if I would have to do chemotherapy or radiation.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“We just wanted a few more eggs,” Munn said during the Vogue interview. “At my age, one in every 10 eggs are healthy, and we were hoping to make one embryo from this retrieval.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;A few hours later, we got the call from my doctor. He shared that we had two healthy embryos,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;John and I just started crying. It was just so exciting because not only did we get it in one retrieval, but it also meant that I didn&#8217;t have to keep putting myself at risk. It was just amazing.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Because she had a hysterectomy, Munn also discussed how she would need to use a surrogate gestational carrier to have any more biological children.</span></p>

With a surrogate, you have to try to go find a version of yourself somewhere out in the world. Somebody that you trust as much as yourself to live their life as a pregnant woman the same way that you would. But a surrogate isn’t a scary prospect to me anymore because there’s nothing I can do.”</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;In the past ten months, I have had four surgeries, so many days spent in bed I can&#8217;t even count …surprisingly, I&#8217;ve only cried twice,&#8221; Munn wrote. &#8220;I guess I haven&#8217;t felt like there was time to cry.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;I&#8217;ve tended to let people see me when I have energy, when I can get dressed and get out of the house, when I can take my baby boy to the park,&#8221; Munn continued. &#8220;I&#8217;ve kept the diagnosis and the worry and the recovery and the pain medicine and the paper gowns private. I needed to catch my breath and get through some of the hardest parts before sharing.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8216;The Newsroom&#8217; star said her doctor decided to calculate her &#8220;Breast Cancer Risk Assessment&#8221; score, something that she said saved her life. That resulted in her getting an MRI, which led to an ultrasound, followed by a biopsy.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;The biopsy showed I had a Luminal B cancer in both breasts,&#8221; she wrote, adding that it was an &#8220;aggressive, fast moving cancer.&#8221;</span></p>
