A new video series from small tech firm ParkerVision claims that big tech giant Qualcomm stole their patented groundbreaking technology before offshoring it to China &#8212; all while allegedly colluding with the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/obama-administration" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Obama administration</a> to get away with it.
Part one of the four-part series, called &#8220;<a href="https://x.com/Against_Giants" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Against the Giants</a>,&#8221; outlines how ParkerVision took Qualcomm to court in 2011, once they believed Qualcomm stole their patented chip. A unanimous jury verdict found Qualcomm guilty, but seven weeks later, the Obama-appointed judge decided to dismiss the entire case, <a href="https://parkervision.com/wp-content/uploads/bsk-pdf-manager/2022/06/4.-Parkervision-Inc.-v.-Qualcomm-Inc.6.20.14-Doc-545-1.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">citing</a> &#8220;an insufficient evidentiary basis&#8221; over the alleged patent infringement. The shocking swing sparked ParkerVision to look further into the matter, allegedly finding collusion with the Obama administration.
Outlined as one piece of evidence in the series, ParkerVision says the Obama DOJ and the executive office of the president visited the company&#8217;s website and viewed ParkerVision&#8217;s litigation against Qualcomm before Obama flew to California to raise money for the DNC at the Qualcomm CEO&#8217;s home.
ParkerVision and Qualcomm are still enthralled in a legal battle to this day.

Since the video series has gained traction online, Qualcomm has filed a motion for &#8220;Against the Giants&#8221; social media to be shut down, ParkerVision says.
&#8220;Qualcomm has filed a 28 page motion to the court to shut down our social media on the basis that we are infringing on their &#8216;Constitutional right to a fair trial,'&#8221; an update posted Wednesday reads. &#8220;Qualcomm asks for &#8216;immediate court intervention&#8217; that would result in a court order removing our posts.&#8221;

When I studied journalism at the University of Maryland, we were trained to recognize “yellow journalism” — sensational reporting that sacrifices truth for attention. Today, American media has been overtaken by a new, more dangerous trend: “red journalism,” where government propaganda has replaced honest reporting. The reason? The 2012 <a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/112th-congress/house-bill/5736" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Smith-Mundt Modernization Act</a>, a law quietly slipped into the <a href="https://www.congress.gov/118/plaws/publ31/PLAW-118publ31.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">National Defense Authorization Act</a> under President Obama. This legislation lifted bans on U.S.-funded propaganda meant for foreign audiences, allowing government and legacy media to collude on delivering propaganda to the American public. 
Ostensibly designed to counter “misinformation”, this amendment has allowed the government to weaponize our press, turning it from a watchdog into a megaphone for political agendas and false narratives. Once a pillar of democracy, legacy media has become a lap dog of the government, pushing narratives that serve those in power, not the truth.
Under Obama, media outlets went from scrutinizing policies, events, and politicians to uncritically parroting government talking points. When the Affordable Care Act’s rollout tanked, legacy outlets downplayed the issues and glossed over glaring government missteps. This disturbing pattern of sanitizing the news in favor of political spin has continued, feeding Americans one-sided narratives disguised as journalism.
Under Biden, this alignment has intensified. Critical issues like Covid, his cognitive decline, border security, inflation, and disastrous foreign policy decisions are routinely softened, outright ignored or blatantly lied about. The Afghanistan withdrawal, a deadly debacle, saw the press repeating official statements that minimized or ignored the administration&#8217;s failures. Real, investigative reporting was left to independent journalists and international sources.
This propaganda machine is especially clear in election coverage. Legacy media&#8217;s bias has shifted from subtle to brazen. Kamala Harris received glowing, uncritical coverage that boosted her image, while Donald Trump was forced to endure unsubstantiated accusations and dangerous rhetoric. From hiding the Hunter Biden laptop scandal to glossing over President Biden&#8217;s cognitive decline, legacy media has shown they are not just biased but actively complicit in shaping political outcomes to favor the administration. This is not journalism — it’s election interference and public manipulation.
A free press is the bedrock of democracy, a crucial check on government power. When the media stops questioning and starts amplifying the official line, the public loses access to objective information and becomes vulnerable to manipulation. The Smith-Mundt Modernization Act has turned American media from truth-tellers into mouthpieces for those in power, destroying public trust and democracy itself.

Moving forward, our new Congress must make it a priority to repeal the Smith-Mundt Modernization Act and hold news outlets legally accountable for factually accurate, transparently sourced reporting. This is not an assault on free speech; it’s a demand for journalistic integrity. Our nation deserves a media landscape free from government influence, and repealing the Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2012 would be a significant move toward that goal. Congress must seize this opportunity to restore the boundaries that protect a free and independent press and, by extension, preserve the public’s trust in the information they receive.

Kathleen Sebelius, who served as secretary of the Health and Human Services (HHS) Department under former President Barack Obama, warned that <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/robert-f-kennedy-jr" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Robert F. Kennedy Jr.</a> taking on her old position could  &#8220;end up killing people.&#8221;
The alarming remark came during an MSNBC interview after President-elect Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-expected-to-nominate-robert-f-kennedy-jr-for-hhs" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> last week Kennedy as his pick to lead HHS during his second term. Sebelius cited Kennedy&#8217;s skeptical stance on vaccines, one which Kennedy has defended as not being outright anti-vaxx.
&#8220;I think we are talking about magnitudes of danger beyond erroneously making legal decisions. This is life or death. The HHS affects people from birth to their grave and is intimately connected with every state in the country. So, this could be very dangerous. I think it is totally disqualifying for anyone who seeks to lead the major health agency in this country, and one of the leaders in the world, to unequivocally say there is no safe and effective vaccine,&#8221; Sebelius said.

Kennedy, who is pushing a &#8220;Make America Health Again&#8221; twist on Trump&#8217;s &#8220;Make America Great Again&#8221; platform, has insisted that he supports vaccines in general, as long as they pass sufficient testing.
During a NewsNation town hall in June of 2023 — when Kennedy was still running his own campaign for the presidency — Kennedy <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/rfk-jr-defends-vaccine-stance-says-democratic-party-has-lost-its-way" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pushed back</a> on family medicine physician Tariq Butt&#8217;s assertion that he espoused a view on vaccines that was &#8220;dangerous&#8221; to millions of people.
&#8220;I’ve never been anti-vaccine, and I’ve said that hundreds and hundreds of times but it doesn’t matter &#8230; Using a pejorative to describe me is a way of silencing me or marginalizing me,” Kennedy said. &#8220;My position on vaccines, I think is — I think virtually every American would agree with my stance on vaccines, which is that vaccines should be tested like other medicines. They should be safety tested. And unfortunately, vaccines are not safety tested, they’re not.&#8221;

Obama HHS Sec Loses It Over RFK Jr., Claims He Could ‘End Up Killing People’

There is no doubt that President-elect Donald Trump has won a sweeping victory, becoming only the second U.S. president to be elected to a second, non-consecutive term in one of the most remarkable political comeback stories in American history. But his victory in the Electoral College would’ve been even bigger if two factors hadn’t cheated him out of the additional votes he should have received. 
Why do I say this? Because of the jarring errors the Census Bureau <a href="https://www.heritage.org/election-integrity/report/census-bureau-errors-distort-congressional-representation-the-states">admitted</a> it made in its population numbers for multiple states, and its unfair inclusion of aliens in the population used for congressional apportionment. That inclusion <a href="https://www.dailysignal.com/2024/05/09/a-bill-to-ensure-fair-representation-for-american-citizens/">dilutes</a> the votes of U.S. citizens, distorting representation in the U.S. House of Representatives and in the Electoral College. 
Let me explain. 
First, the costly errors. In 2022, the Census Bureau issued a report in which it announced that a post-census survey revealed that its count was wrong in 14 states. It undercounted the populations of Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas, while overcounting the populations of Delaware, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Utah. The errors ranged from a low of 1.49% to a high of 6.79%. 
Due to these errors, Florida did not receive two additional congressional seats it should have gotten, Texas lost out on one additional seat, and Minnesota and Rhode Island each retained a seat they should have lost. Colorado received an additional seat it didn’t deserve. 
Since Trump won Florida and Texas, he should have gotten an additional three Electoral College votes from those states. Kamala Harris should have had three Electoral College votes deducted from her total with her wins in Colorado, Minnesota, and Rhode Island. 
Second, the inclusion of aliens, both legal and illegal, in the population used for apportionment also had a significant effect on the election since they are included in the population used to determine how many votes each state is entitled to in the Electoral College. That’s a major reason why liberals fought so hard to prevent a citizenship question being reinstated on the 2020 Census form; they don’t want the citizen population available for apportionment or redistricting. 
We have had an unprecedented, intentionally engineered influx of illegal aliens in the four years of the Biden-Harris administration—at <a href="https://homeland.house.gov/2024/05/22/startling-stats-factsheet-biden-administration-on-track-to-reach-10-million-encounters-nationwide-before-end-of-fiscal-year/">least</a> 10 million. But even before this latest population explosion of illegal aliens that has made the problem even worse, the Congressional Research Service in 2015 issued a <a href="https://sgp.fas.org/crs/misc/R41636.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> on what would happen if apportionment were based solely on citizen population. According to the CRS, that would have shifted seven congressional seats. 
Gaining one seat each (with the 2024 winner noted): Louisiana (Trump), Missouri (Trump), Montana (Trump), North Carolina (Trump), Ohio (Trump), Oklahoma (Trump), and Virginia (Harris). California (Harris) would lose four congressional seats and thus four Electoral College Votes. 
How does all of this stack up? If you exclude the alien population from apportionment and the Electoral College as they should be, and correct the Census Bureau’s mistakes, then Donald Trump should have been awarded an additional nine Electoral College votes, while Kamala Harris should have had six votes deducted from her total. 
The final result with these corrections? As this article was being written, Trump had 295 Electoral College votes to Harris’s 226, with Arizona and Nevada still outstanding. But adjusting for the errors and inclusion of aliens means that Trump actually should have won 304 votes and Harris should only have 220 (not including Arizona’s 11 votes and Nevada’s 6 votes). In a close election, even those numbers could make a difference. 
This fundamental injustice ought to be fixed. There is no excuse for what happened at the Census Bureau. It needs a major review of its personnel, procedures and policies, to determine the cause of its mistakes. It did not make this large a substantive error in the 2010 Census, in which the Bureau’s post-census survey disclosed a mere 0.01 percent overcount. 
Second, there should be a concerted push to add a citizenship question to the 2030 Census form and to change the apportionment formula used by the Census Bureau through legislation such as <a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-bill/7109" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the Equal Representation Act</a> to exclude “individuals who are not citizens of the United States.” 
The mandate won by Donald Trump in both the Electoral College and in the popular vote gives the president the authority and the support of the American people to do the right thing when it comes to ensuring their franchise and protecting the voting rights of American citizens free from errors and foreign interference.

As Israel prepared its ground invasion of Lebanon to dismantle the terrorist group Hezbollah, the Biden-Harris administration leaked the plans to the press, catalyzing harsh reaction on social media.
The Washington Post broke the news on Monday, as <a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/israel-said-to-inform-us-of-plans-for-imminent-limited-ground-op-in-lebanon/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Times of Israel</a> noted. The Post reported:
<blockquote>Israel is planning a limited ground operation in Lebanon that could start imminently, Israel has told Washington, a U.S. official said. Israel&#8217;s planned campaign would be smaller than its last war against Hezbollah in 2006 and would focus on clearing out militant infrastructure along the border to remove the threat to Israeli border communities, the official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss private talks between the two governments. On Monday, Israeli forces carried out limited raids in Lebanon, according to an Israeli familiar with the operation, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive matter.</blockquote>

The Biden-Harris administration&#8217;s undermining of Israel has taken numerous forms over the years; it recently joined the United Nations to invoke immunity for UNRWA and its employees who aided and abetted Hamas in its murderous massacre of more than 1220 people in Israel last October 7. Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren <a href="https://www.reuters.com/article/us-israel-usa-palestinians-envoy/israeli-envoy-sees-historic-crisis-with-u-s-report-idUSTRE62E11O20100315" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in 2010, while Biden was vice president under Obama, “Israel’s ties with the United States are in their worst crisis since 1975 … a crisis of historic proportions.” In October 2012, Danny Danon, chairman of Likud’s international outreach branch, <a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/danny-danon-says-obama-hasnt-been-a-friend-of-israel/">said</a> that the Obama administration’s policies had been “catastrophic.”
In 2020, John Perazzo <a href="https://www.jns.org/opinion/joe-biden-israels-fake-friend/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">delineated</a> how often the Obama-Biden administration had leaked information about Israel between 2010 and 2015. In 2010, the Obama-Biden administration, eager to protect Iran, leaked information about a secret <a href="http://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2012/04/11/obama-leak-israel-iran/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">deal</a> between Israel and Saudi Arabia in which the Saudis agreed to let Israel use their airspace in the event of an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. On March 22, 2012, the Obama-Biden administration <a href="http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/headlines/2012/03/obama-administration-media-campaign-to-stop-israeli-strike-on-iran/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">leaked</a> to The New York Times the results of a classified war game. Institute for National Security Studies analyst Yoel Guzansky said of the leak, “It seems like a big campaign to prevent Israel from attacking. I think the [Obama-Biden] administration is really worried Jerusalem will attack and attack soon. They’re trying hard to prevent it in so many ways.”
Israel defense commentator Ron Ben-Yishai wrote in May 2012 that the leaks would “make it more difficult for Israeli decision-makers to order the IDF [Israeli Defense Forces] to carry out a strike, and what’s even graver, [would] erode the IDF’s capacity to launch such strike with minimal casualties.”
In April 2012, The New Yorker <a href="http://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2012/04/11/obama-leak-israel-iran/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that the Obama-Biden administration leaked information that the Israeli Mossad was funding and training the Iranian opposition group Mujahideen-e-Khalq (MEK). Perazzo noted, “This revelation was intended to portray Israel as being unwilling to negotiate in good faith with the government in Tehran, and to thereby undermine any moral authority that Israel might claim in the event of a future military strike against Iran.”
Perazzo continued: &#8220;In early May 2013, two Obama-Biden administration officials leaked classified information to the media indicating that Israel was behind a May 3 airstrike against a shipment of advanced surface-to-surface missiles at the airport in Damascus, Syria. Israeli security analysts said that the leak could not only endanger any Israeli agents who were still on the ground in Syria, but could also increase the likelihood that Syrian President Bashar Assad would retaliate against the Jewish state. Again, the purpose of the leak was to paint Israel as an unnecessarily aggressive, bellicose nation.&#8221;
In November 2013, an Obama-Biden administration official <a href="https://archives.frontpagemag.com/fpm/obamas-leaks-sabotaging-israels-defense-joseph-klein/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">leaked</a> to CNN that a Syrian base in Latakia, which held Russian-made mobile missile systems that could have been given to the terrorist group Hezbollah had been attacked by Israel warplanes. Perazzo pointed out, “Israeli officials called the leak ‘<a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/israel-furious-with-white-house-for-leak-on-syria-strike/?utm_source=dlvr.it&amp;utm_medium=twitter" target="_blank" rel="noopener">scandalous</a>’ and ‘unthinkable.’”
In January 2015, the Obama-Biden administration leaked information alleging that an anonymous Mossad official had opposed sanctions on Iran. Within hours, the official, Mossad’s Tamir Pardo, <a href="https://www.newsghana.com.gh/israel-support-un-sanctions-iran/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">responded, </a>“Contrary to what has been reported, the head of the Mossad did not say that he opposes imposing additional sanctions on Iran…. Regarding the reported reference to ‘throwing a grenade,’ the head of the Mossad did not use this expression regarding the imposition of sanctions, which he believes to be the sticks necessary for reaching a good deal with Iran. He used this expression as a metaphor to describe the possibility of creating a temporary crisis in the negotiations, at the end of which talks would resume under improved conditions.”

Former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, who served under former President Barack Obama, said over the weekend that American political leaders need to do a much better job educating the public about the importance of foreign policy issues and how they impact things in the U.S.
Gates made the remarks during a Sunday interview on CBS News&#8217;s &#8220;Face The Nation&#8221; with Margaret Brennan when asked how he would explain the significance of foreign policy to the American people.
&#8220;I think our leaders need to bring these issues home to the American people in a very direct way,&#8221; he said. &#8220;So for example, using historical examples about how our delaying taking seriously foreign threats, has ultimately resulted in the deaths of thousands and thousands of Americans &#8211; young men and women in conflict. The world isn&#8217;t going to ignore us just because we think we can ignore the world.&#8221;
&#8220;So the first thing is to make clear that if we don&#8217;t deal with these problems early, they become very dangerous problems and very costly problems for the United States down the road,&#8221; he continued.
He said another factor that needed to be emphasized is the interconnected global economy and how a disruption overseas could have a major impact at home.

The moderator, Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer, broached the topic of contending with Tehran after Iranian proxies attacked U.S. forces in Iraq and Syria dozens of times over the past several weeks.
&#8220;I would basically determine where those missiles are coming from — and we have the capability to do that &#8230; and then attack those positions immediately in order to make sure that they don&#8217;t do it again,&#8221; Panetta said. &#8220;I would be much more aggressive about going after those that attack our U.S. forces,&#8221; he added before contending that <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/iran" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Iran</a> would rather lean on terrorist groups such as Hezbollah and Hamas rather than enter a war.
U.S. military <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/International/us-launches-3rd-strikes-iran-backed-groups-amid/story?id=104834330" target="_blank" rel="noopener">retaliatory strikes</a> on weapons facilities and other targets in response to the attacks, which have ramped up as Israel wages war against Hamas, have been &#8220;a little bit too selective.&#8221; Panetta said. &#8220;I want to go after those who are firing missiles at our troops and make sure they understand that when they fire a missile — they are going to die,&#8221; he added.
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin <a href="https://www.defense.gov/News/Speeches/Speech/Article/3604755/a-time-for-american-leadership-remarks-by-secretary-of-defense-lloyd-j-austin-i/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">delivered remarks</a> at the same event in California in which he discussed strengthening the position of U.S. forces in the Middle East to assist Israel and shore up deterrence in the region.
&#8220;As we are working to stabilize the region, Iran is raising tensions,&#8221; Austin said. &#8220;And after attacks against U.S. personnel in Iraq and Syria, our forces repeatedly struck facilities in Iraq and eastern Syria used by Iran’s [Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps] and by militias affiliated with Iran.&#8221;
He continued, &#8220;We will not tolerate attacks on American personnel. And so these attacks must stop. And until they do, we will do what we need to do to protect our troops — and to impose costs on those who attack them.&#8221;

There has been some pressure from Republicans in Congress on the Biden administration to respond more forcefully to the attacks by Iranian-backed groups.
“We’ve only hit back a few times. When we do hit back, it’s almost always at empty proxy warehouses or maybe proxy forces in Iraq and Syria,” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/senator-cotton-a-massive-retaliation-against-iran-directly-is-only-way-to-stop-attacks-on-u-s-forces" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said in a &#8220;Fox News Sunday&#8221;</a> interview last week. “It seems like the president wants to go out of his way to avoid Iranian casualties. I would target Iranians who are operating in Iraq and in Syria. I would also send a clear message to Iran if these attacks don’t stop immediately, then we’ll begin to threaten their assets.”
He also said: “The way to stop these attacks is not be fearful and hesitant and cautious in a response, but massive retaliation to make it clear we will not tolerate these attacks on Americans.&#8221;

President Joe Biden’s pick for ambassador to Israel has come under intense scrutiny from GOP senators who grilled him Wednesday over his role in crafting the Obama administration’s nuclear deal with Iran. 
Jack Lew, the former Treasury secretary, was one of the architects of the Iran Nuclear Deal agreed upon in 2015 when Biden was vice president. Lew was also <a href="https://www.cotton.senate.gov/news/press-releases/2016/08/03/cotton-demands-answers-from-obama-administration-on-400-million-payment-to-iran">questioned</a> in 2016 after he played a role in the Obama administration’s handout of $400 million in cash to Tehran. His confirmation process <a href="https://punchbowl.news/article/jack-lew-confirmation-process-kicks-off-in-senate/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">began</a> on Wednesday, less than two weeks after Iran-backed Hamas terrorists attacked Israel. 
The Iran deal was <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2015/07/15/world/middleeast/iran-nuclear-deal-israel.html">slammed</a> by Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu back in July 2015, who warned that it would “reward Iran, the terrorist regime in Tehran, with hundreds of billions of dollars” over the coming decade. 
“This cash bonanza will fuel Iran’s terrorism worldwide, its aggression in the region and its efforts to destroy Israel, which are ongoing,” Netanyahu said at the time. 
The Iran Nuclear Deal <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/iran-nuclear-deal-explained-11610564572">gave</a> Iran access to over $100 billion in oil revenues that were previously frozen by U.S. sanctions. The deal also allowed Iran to produce an unlimited amount of enriched uranium after 2031 and lifted restrictions on energy sales. Then, the Obama administration secretly sent a planeload of $400 million in cash directly to Tehran, which Lew helped organize. 
Former President Donald Trump pulled out of the deal in 2018. Trump had sought to restrict Iran’s missile program and push the Tehran regime to sever its ties to terrorism, but Iran refused to negotiate. Shortly after Biden won back the White House for Democrats, however, the administration began working out a new Iran Nuclear Deal, and last month Biden unfroze $6 billion for Iran in a prisoner exchange deal. 
A 2018 <a href="https://www.hsgac.senate.gov/wp-content/uploads/imo/media/doc/2018-06-06%20PSI%20Majority%20Staff%20Report1.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> from the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee found that Lew&#8217;s Treasury Department, &#8220;at the direction of the U.S. State Department, granted a specific license that authorized a conversion of Iranian assets worth 
billions of U.S. dollars using the U.S. financial system.&#8221; U.S. officials later stated in congressional testimony that &#8220;Iran would not be granted access to the U.S. financial system,&#8221; the report said. 
Biden’s pick for ambassador to Israel now faces a slew of Republican senators who question Lew’s qualification for the job.

“Jack Lew is simply not the right person to be America’s ambassador to our longtime and strong ally, Israel,” Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-MO) said in a statement. “Lew was the architect of the failed and dangerous Iran Nuclear Deal. Iran is the world’s number one state-sponsor of terrorism and the primary funder of Hamas terrorism – we don’t need a soft-on-Iran ambassador to Israel. Biden and Lew both have capitulated to Iran in the past – this fact alone should immediately disqualify him.”
Similarly, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), the senior Republican on the Foreign Relations Committee, told Fox News that he’s concerned with Lew’s previous statements to Congress regarding financial agreements between the Obama administration and Iran. 
“In the case of Mr. Lew, I have real concerns that he has misled and lied to Congress in the past, in terms of some of the financial arrangements that were made under the Obama Administration,” Rubio <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/10/18/politics/jack-lew-confirmation-hearing/index.html#:~:text=Lew%20played%20a%20key%20role,that%20was%20supported%20by%20Israel." target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. 
Meanwhile, Democrats in the Senate are hoping to expedite Lew&#8217;s confirmation, saying there is an added urgency because of the Israel-Hamas war.
“I don’t expect we’ll get unanimity on him, but [Republicans] should want to expedite the [process] for voting on him,” Foreign Relations Committee Chair Ben Cardin (D-MD) told <a href="https://punchbowl.news/article/jack-lew-confirmation-process-kicks-off-in-senate/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Punchbowl News</a>.
Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) said on Tuesday that he might take a step to slow down the confirmation of Lew, CNN reported. Only 51 senators need to vote in favor of Lew for him to get confirmed, but one senator can block a speedy confirmation process.   
Cotton called Lew an “Iran sympathizer who has no business being our ambassador,” adding, isn’t going to skip any of the procedural steps “for a soft-on-Iran ambassadorial nominee to Israel in the middle of a war with Iran’s proxies in Israel.”

Pras Michel, a former member of the Fugees convicted earlier this year related to laundering millions of dollars to President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/barack-obama" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Barack Obama&#8217;s</a> campaign, called for a new trial on Monday by claiming his legal team used artificial intelligence to craft their closing argument for the jury.
Michel, 50, was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ex-fugees-rapper-pras-found-guilty-on-charges-involving-international-conspiracy-between-china-and-u-s-gov" target="_blank" rel="noopener">found guilty</a> in April in a federal court on ten criminal counts related to an international conspiracy to help China influence the U.S. government, including concealment of material facts, making false entries in records, witness tampering, and serving as an unregistered agent of a foreign power.
In his <a href="https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/24036102-michelnewtrialmotion101623" target="_blank" rel="noopener">113-page motion</a> filed with a federal judge in Washington, the hip-hop artist&#8217;s new legal team argued that Michel&#8217;s Los Angeles-based lawyer, David Kenner, used litigation assistance technology in the trial, contributing to &#8220;prejudicial ineffective assistance of counsel.&#8221;
Kenner &#8220;used an experimental artificial intelligence (AI) program to draft the closing argument, ignoring the best arguments and conflating the charged schemes, and he then publicly boasted that the AI program &#8216;turned hours or days of legal work into seconds,'&#8221; the legal team from D.C.-based ArentFox Schiff wrote. &#8220;It is now apparent that Kenner and his co-counsel appear to have had an undisclosed financial stake in the AI program, and they experimented with it during Michel&#8217;s trial so they could issue a press release afterward promoting the program — a clear conflict of interest.&#8221;
Former federal prosecutor Peter Zeidenberg reportedly wrote in a declaration accompanying the motion that Michel&#8217;s ex-publicist notified some legal team members that Kenner had boasted at the end of the trial that &#8220;AI wrote our closing.&#8221;
&#8220;Michel&#8217;s counsel was deficient throughout, likely more focused on promoting his AI program and saving himself from the contempt proceeding than zealously defending Michel,&#8221; Zeidenberg wrote.
Zeidenberg referred to a <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20230511154841/https:/www.eyelevel.ai/post/first-use-of-ai-in-federal-trial" target="_blank" rel="noopener">press release</a> by a firm called EyeLevel issued in May that included a quote from Kenner calling the AI tool &#8220;an absolute game changer for complex litigation&#8221; while omitting that the grand jury convicted Michel on all ten felony charges after three days of jury deliberation.
The trial included testimony from high-profile witnesses, from Leonardo DiCaprio to former Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Michel, who rose to fame in the early 1990s upon forming the East Coast hip-hop trio with Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean, played a central role in a wide-ranging conspiracy to improperly influence top government officials, including the Obama and Trump administrations, according to federal prosecutors.
Authorities accused Michel of taking about $88 million from Malaysian financier Jho Low, who also faces charges separately for allegedly embezzling billions from 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), a Malaysian sovereign wealth fund, between 2009 and 2014. Court documents and trial evidence detail that Low and Michel conspired to lobby President Trump and the Justice Department to drop the 1MDB embezzlement investigation and extradite a Chinese national on behalf of Beijing.
During the Obama administration, authorities said Michel and Low funneled millions of dollars into roughly 20 straw donors for President Obama&#8217;s re-election campaign in 2012. According to NBC, Michel told trial jurors that he accepted approximately $20 million from Low, who hoped to get a picture with Obama. However, he claimed he did not intend to use the money as foreign campaign contributions or his services.
Michel also admitted to giving approximately $800,000 in donation money to friends intended for exclusive access to Obama fundraisers in Miami and Washington, D.C., roughly priced at $40,000 per seat. Still, he considered the funds &#8220;free money&#8221; and his to spend.
Michel has reportedly remained out of jail on bond since the first charges were filed in 2019. He faces up to 20 years in prison, but authorities have not yet set a sentencing date.
The artist is set to join the Fugees on a North American reunion tour on Tuesday connected to the 25th anniversary of Lauryn Hill&#8217;s solo album, &#8220;The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill,&#8221; where the trio plans to perform more than 20 concerts.
It&#8217;s unclear if Michel will attend the full tour.

Hunter Biden sued Rudy Giuliani on Tuesday, alleging the former lawyer of President Trump played a central role in the &#8220;total annihilation&#8221; of Biden&#8217;s digital privacy and data related to his infamous laptop computer.
Biden filed the <a href="https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.cacd.899829/gov.uscourts.cacd.899829.1.0.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">15-page complaint</a> in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, which also named Giuliani&#8217;s companies and attorney and former federal prosecutor Robert Costello, who reportedly represented Giuliani as a defendant, accusing them of violating the federal Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.
Attorneys for Biden seek a court order to prevent the Defendants from accessing, tampering with, manipulating, or copying Biden&#8217;s data and returning any content related to the laptop to the president&#8217;s son.
&#8220;For the past many months and even years, Defendants have dedicated an extraordinary amount of time and energy toward looking for, hacking into, tampering with, manipulating, copying, disseminating, and generally obsessing over data that they were given that was taken or stolen from Plaintiff&#8217;s devices or storage platforms, including what Defendants claim to have obtained from Plaintiff&#8217;s alleged &#8220;laptop&#8221; computer,&#8221; Biden&#8217;s attorneys wrote in the complaint.
The suit also alleges the defendants admitted their possession of the content came from an &#8220;external drive&#8221; rather than an actual laptop reportedly left at a computer repair shop in Delaware in 2019. The data was &#8220;manipulated, altered and damaged&#8221; before the contents were copied and sent to Giuliani and Costello, the suit claims with &#8220;further alterations and damage to the data&#8221; unknown to the president&#8217;s son.
In the weeks leading up to the 2020 election, Giuliani disseminated emails, pictures and videos, and other data from Hunter&#8217;s laptop to the New York Post that implicated President Joe Biden in a Ukrainian business deal that placed Hunter on the board during his father&#8217;s time as Vice President during the Obama administration.
After initially claiming the laptop that he was accused of abandoning at the shop was either hacked, stolen, or some form of Russian disinformation campaign to hinder his father&#8217;s 2020 presidential candidacy, Hunter Biden finally admitted in a sitdown interview with CBS that it &#8220;certainly&#8221; could have belonged to him.
Then, amid working out a plea deal for a criminal probe, Biden finally admitted that the laptop packed with scandalous content was, in fact, his, according to the Post.
Ted Goodman, spokesman for Giuliani, <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2023/09/26/hunter-biden-sues-rudy-giuliani-over-infamous-laptop.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> CNBC in a statement, &#8220;Hunter Biden has previously refused to admit ownership of the laptop.&#8221;
&#8220;I&#8217;m not surprised he&#8217;s now falsely claiming his laptop hard drive was manipulated by Mayor Giuliani, considering the sordid material and potential evidence of crimes on that thing,&#8221; Goodman said.
House Republicans recently <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/mccarthy-announces-formal-impeachment-inquiry-against-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">opened a formal impeachment inquiry</a> against Biden after lawmakers accused him of using his vice presidency to dissuade Ukrainian prosecutors from investigating the company. GOP officials also claim to have uncovered millions of dollars funneled to members of Biden&#8217;s family from foreign nationals.
Biden has repeatedly claimed he never spoke with his son about foreign business dealings.
The latest lawsuit from Hunter Biden comes after a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hunter-biden-sues-former-trump-wh-staffer-over-infamous-laptop" target="_blank" rel="noopener">separate case</a> filed by his legal team accused former Trump White House staffer Garret Ziegler, the founder of the nonprofit Marco Polo, of violating California and federal computer privacy laws by publishing thousands of photos and emails from the laptop.
Ziegler worked for Trump during the last two years of his term as a policy analyst. His nonprofit created a new website in June, unveiling controversial content from the laptop to bring &#8220;truth and transparency&#8221; to America&#8217;s first family.

NBC News <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/white-house/biden-makes-history-striking-auto-workers-picket-line-rcna117348" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> the criticism on Tuesday just as Biden arrived in Michigan to stand with protesters who are striking against &#8220;Big Three&#8221; automakers Ford, General Motors, and Stellantis in an effort to secure higher wages, improved benefits, <a href="https://apnews.com/article/uaw-strike-ford-gm-stellantis-contract-offers-5dd4dee2056b7efe06d2a55433d8d13a#:~:text=In%20addition%2C%20the%20UAW%20has,pay%20raises%2C%20among%20other%20benefits." target="_blank" rel="noopener">and more</a>.
“For him to be going on a picket line is outrageous,” Rattner told the news outlet.
&#8220;There’s no precedent for it,&#8221; he added. &#8220;The tradition of the president is to stay neutral in these things. I get the politics. The progressives all said, &#8216;We don’t want a mediator; we want an advocate.&#8217; And he bowed to the progressives, and now he’s going out there to put his thumb on the scale. And it’s wrong.&#8221;
Rattner, a Wall Street financier, led former President Barack Obama’s auto industry task force and <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/SB124751573500734529" target="_blank" rel="noopener">oversaw</a> the federal auto industry bailout of 2009.
He wrote a guest essay <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/09/20/opinion/uaw-strike-economy-biden.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">published last week by The New York Times</a> that expressed support for auto workers getting paid more but warned that the &#8220;increasingly militant U.A.W. is overplaying its hand with an overly lengthy and overly ambitious list of demands.&#8221;

Rattner also said he was worried about the &#8220;implications&#8221; the UAW strike could have on the economy and Biden.
&#8220;A prolonged strike, which could lead to far more widespread shutdowns of auto facilities, could jeopardize the economic recovery,&#8221; Rattner said. &#8220;Our nearly $800 billion auto industry accounts for 3 percent of economic output, with a particular concentration in the Midwest, where states like Michigan are critical to President Biden’s re-election.&#8221;
Biden, who served as Obama&#8217;s vice president, visited the picket line just one day before former President Donald Trump is <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-plans-to-skip-second-gop-debate-to-rally-with-striking-autoworkers" target="_blank" rel="noopener">expected to deliver</a> a speech to striking auto workers in Detroit instead of attending the second GOP primary debate.
&#8220;The President joins the picket line in solidarity with the men and women of the United Auto Workers union as they fight for a fair share of the value they helped create,&#8221; said the White House, according to a press pool report.
