Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo has revoked the license of a nurse who wished childbirth injuries on White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
State Attorney General James Uthmeier (R-FL) announced the move to strip Lexie Lawler of her Florida state nursing license in a post on X on Wednesday, praising Ladapo for taking such a &#8220;decisive action&#8221; and ensuring that those who wish harm on others — particularly those who work in fields like health care — face consequences for doing so.
&#8220;Effective today, Lexie Lawler is no longer allowed to practice nursing in Florida. Making statements that wish pain and suffering on anyone, when those statements are directly related to one&#8217;s practice, is an ethical red line we should not cross,&#8221; Uthmeier <a href="https://x.com/AGJamesUthmeier/status/2016551568779202738">posted</a>.
After learning one day earlier that Lawler had been fired for her statements directed at Leavitt, Uthmeier had <a href="https://x.com/AGJamesUthmeier/status/2016244226757972192">argued</a> that simply the loss of her job was not adequate: &#8220;Being fired isn’t good enough. Any healthcare worker who fails to uphold his or her obligation to provide adequate, safe healthcare should not be licensed in Florida. No excuses!&#8221;
Uthmeier issued a similar statement to Fox News Digital, saying, &#8220;Women shouldn’t have to worry about a politically driven nurse who wishes them pain and suffering being in the delivery room during childbirth. It’s evil. The Florida Board of Nursing must take action to keep this person away from patients permanently.&#8221;
Lawler&#8217;s original TikTok video went viral — with a little help from Libs of TikTok — prompting backlash as she expressed her sincere wish for Leavitt to suffer permanent damage from a difficult delivery.
&#8220;As a labor and delivery nurse, it gives me great joy to wish Karoline Leavitt a fourth degree tear,&#8221; she said, adding, &#8220;I hope you f*cking rip from bow to stern and never sh*t normally again, you c*nt.&#8221;
A fourth-degree tear is the most severe type of obstetric tear and includes lacerations that extend through the perineal muscles into the rectal lining. Such tears require surgery to repair and six to eight weeks of recovery time — and only 60% to 80% of women will fully recover with no further complications.

Daily Wire host Michael Knowles exposed a Catholic college for teaching psychiatric nurse practitioner students &#8220;how to greenlight the castration, sterilization, and mutilation of gender-confused kids and adults&#8221; in an exclusive thread on X.
Steph Williams, a lecturer who uses he/him and she/her pronouns, taught students at Mount Saint Mary College in New York how to halt puberty in children as young as nine, even if they did not experience gender dysphoria, Knowles revealed, based on a tip from advocacy group Do No Harm.
&#8220;Per Williams: If a 12-year-old girl menstruates and feels ‘stress,’ she might grow up to be a depressed alcoholic—unless we drug her,&#8221; Knowles said. &#8220;That’s the rationale for chemically halting puberty in gender-confused kids.&#8221;

Mount Saint Mary College was <a href="https://www.msmc.edu/about/">founded</a> by the Sisters of St. Dominic in 1959, according to its about page, and says its &#8220;roots in education&#8221; go back to Saint Dominic in the 13th century. The school&#8217;s website <a href="https://www.msmc.edu/life-at-the-mount/faith-service/">says</a> it is &#8220;a college in the Catholic and Dominican tradition.&#8221;
Williams is &#8220;a Director of LGBTQIA+ Relations and AmeriCorps Programming at Sun River Health&#8221; and &#8220;a certified organizational culture facilitator,&#8221; according to LinkedIn — but is not a licensed doctor, Knowles pointed out.
Using puberty blockers &#8220;buys the adolescent some time … to ensure that the person is indeed trans,&#8221; Williams said in a video obtained by The Daily Wire. If the child is not &#8220;trans&#8221; — which Williams said is very rare — she can discontinue puberty blockers and resume puberty as normal.
&#8220;Williams leaves out the significant potential harm of puberty blockers on bone density, fertility, and overall health,&#8221; Knowles said.

Williams claimed adolescents under 18 did not take hormones, saying, &#8220;&#8216;The only adolescents who take hormone[s]&#8230; are folks who have other conditions.'&#8221; Those “other conditions” include precocious puberty and “really high hormones,” but “trans people do not take — unless there is something else going on — hormones before 18.”
Except, Williams said almost immediately, &#8220;It does happen, but it’s extremely, extremely rare.”
How rare? Between 2019 and 2023, “8,579 minors received hormones and puberty blockers,” according to <a href="https://stoptheharmdatabase.com/about/">Stop the Harm Database</a>. Stop the Harm also found that “62,682 sex change prescriptions were written for minors.”

Williams also told students they did not need to understand all the material covered in class because the patient &#8220;is the expert&#8221; and &#8220;knows more&#8221; than the nurse practitioner.
Trans-identifying patients are defined by &#8220;self-declaration,&#8221; according to Williams&#8217; slideshow obtained by The Daily Wire.
&#8220;This is &#8216;gender-affirming care&#8217;: Children diagnosed by ideology. Puberty treated like a disease,&#8221; Knowles said. &#8220;And future nurse practitioners taught that their ignorance is a beneficial feature rather than a bug.&#8221;

The Department of Health and Human Services will hand out over $20 million in &#8220;diversity&#8221; grants this year aimed at increasing the number of minority nurses, even as the Trump administration has sought to crack down on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The purpose of the <a href="https://www.grants.gov/search-results-detail/355776" target="_blank" rel="noopener">initiative</a>, known as the Nursing Workforce Diversity (NWP) Program, is to &#8220;increase nursing education opportunities for individuals who are from disadvantaged backgrounds (including racial and ethnic minorities underrepresented among registered nurses).&#8221; It is administered by the Health Resources and Services Administration, an agency of HHS, and has <a href="https://taggs.hhs.gov/Detail/CFDADetail?arg_CFDA_NUM=93178" target="_blank" rel="noopener">distributed</a> nearly $200 million in grants since 2008.
Applications for the 2025 iteration closed last month, and the Health Resources and Services Administration estimates that it will shell out over $22 million on the program in July when the funds are set to be awarded. The program&#8217;s <a href="https://donoharmmedicine.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/HRSA-25-071_final-v2.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Notice of Funding</a> lays out the purposes of the program, which include increasing racial minorities enrolled in nursing programs and increasing the number of minorities who receive &#8220;support&#8221; to stay in nursing programs.
The notice refers to a <a href="https://bhw.hrsa.gov/glossary" target="_blank" rel="noopener">glossary</a> from the Bureau of Health Workforce to define &#8220;underrepresented&#8221; racial and ethnic minorities. This definition excludes both whites and Asians, and only includes American Indians or Alaska Natives, black or African Americans, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islanders, and Hispanics.
According to the Health Resources and Services Administration, 76% of the 2,033 students who were trained under the program from the 2022-2024 school year &#8220;identified&#8221; as an underrepresented minority, meaning that they were neither white nor Asian.
Do No Harm, an organization that seeks to rid the medical field of politics, told The Daily Wire that the program incentivizes nursing schools to engage in racial discrimination and is based on faulty medical assumptions. The organization released a report on Wednesday highlighting the program.
“The nursing workforce diversity program, unfortunately, is really looking at people based on immutable characteristics,” Do No Harm&#8217;s Medical Director, Dr. Kurt Miceli, told The Daily Wire. &#8220;I think that when you have grants that incentivize a discriminatory program to look at things other than merit, you create a system that&#8217;s not only discriminatory, but also promotes a lower level of care that’s provided, a lower quality of care.&#8221;
Miceli said he was encouraged by many of the steps already taken by the Trump administration to crack down on DEI, and asked them to end the nursing program. In January, President Donald Trump <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/ending-radical-and-wasteful-government-dei-programs-and-preferencing/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed</a> an executive order seeking to eliminate DEI from the government and calling for &#8220;equity&#8221; related grants to be eliminated.

The justification for such programs includes the questionable claim that minorities have better health outcomes when they are treated by minority health workers.
“The American Nurses Association (ANA) reported that a lack of diversity in healthcare significantly increases health disparities and contributes to poorer health outcomes and high mortality at disproportionate rates among socially and economically marginalized groups,&#8221; the notice of funding says. &#8220;Patients are more likely to adhere to health recommendations and have better outcomes when providers are culturally competent or have shared cultural characteristics.&#8221;
But Do No Harm says that &#8220;the weight of the evidence indicates that diversity has no bearing on health outcomes,&#8221; pointing to <a href="https://donoharmmedicine.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/DNH-Racial-Concordance-Paper-Oct-2023.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">analysis</a> conducted by the organization that found that four out of five existing systemic reviews of racial concordance in medicine showed no improvement in health outcomes.
&#8220;The point really is that we as a society, when we&#8217;re on the gurney, when we&#8217;re in the ER, when were in the outpatient office, we want the very best in the provider, and no matter who that is, no matter their race, color is,&#8221; Miceli said. &#8220;We want the very best provider taking care of us, and that&#8217;s absolutely essential for medicine.&#8221;
Applicants are required to present &#8220;evidenced-based strategies used to recruit and retain students from underrepresented or disadvantaged backgrounds&#8221; and &#8220;include the implementation of holistic admissions, provision of scholarships and stipends to address socioeconomic barriers, and peer and mentor support to provide wraparound services to assist in student success.”
They also must submit “a plan for implementing an actionable framework that targets learning disparities and expands opportunities to support students from disadvantaged Backgrounds.”
According to Do No Harm, so-called holistic admissions means downplaying objective standards of qualifications.
“Holistic admissions refers to the practice of deemphasizing objective metrics used to determine an applicant’s merit, such as GPA and MCAT scores, and placing greater focus on other academic qualifications, personality traits, or professional accolades,&#8221; Do No Harm wrote in its report. &#8220;As one might imagine, in practice this often ends up being a roundabout way of still employing race-conscious admissions despite the Supreme Court’s ruling that such strategies are unconstitutional.&#8221;
Funding for the program has ramped up in recent years. In 2014, funding hovered just below $14 million. But from 2022-2024, total funding for the Nursing Workforce Diversity program has been over $20 million every year.

Recipients of Nursing Workforce Diversity grants for 2024 include Frontier Nursing University, the University of Cincinnati, Marquette University, Western Carolina University, Saint Louis University, the University of Arizona, and many others.
Frontier Nursing University in Kentucky, which <a href="https://taggs.hhs.gov/Detail/CFDADetail?arg_CFDA_NUM=93178" target="_blank" rel="noopener">received</a> $555,000 for 2024, openly boasts about its DEI accomplishments, noting that it seeks to increase the number of Hispanic nurse-midwives and that 30% of its student body are &#8220;students of color.&#8221;

The university <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20250421184917/https://portal.frontier.edu/web/fnu/frontier-scholarships" target="_blank" rel="noopener">notes</a> that it has several race-focused scholarship opportunities, including the Lin Bolle Scholarship, for students &#8220;whose race or ethnicity has been historically underrepresented.&#8221; The university also boasts the Noel Smith Fernandez Scholarship and the Dr. Torica Fuller Excellence in Diversity Scholarship, both of which are for &#8220;students of color.&#8221;
Other recipients of Health Resources and Services Administration dollars have similar racially-based programs. For example, the University of Cincinnati received $491,943 for 2024. The university <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20241209065728/https://nursing.uc.edu/academic-programs/bsn/student-support/cure-fellowship.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">offers</a> the CURE program, which gives students up to $12,000 per year and extra tutoring help, and appears to exclude both whites and Asians from eligibility. A <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20241209064551/https://nursing.uc.edu/uc-nursing-advantage/diversity-equity-inclusion/targeted-efforts-for-inclusion-and-belonging.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">now-deleted page</a> from the website detailed that the university held a &#8220;Black Student Nurses Day.&#8221;
The Health Resources and Services Administration also funds racially-focused scholarship opportunities at the University of Memphis&#8217; Loewenberg College of Nursing, including the <a href="https://memphis.academicworks.com/opportunities/27709" target="_blank" rel="noopener">RNs Lead</a> scholarship and the <a href="https://www.memphis.edu/nursing/diversity/strongrns.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">STRONG RNs</a> program.

The American Association of Colleges of Nursing, which helps set education standards for nursing, is intimately connected with the Health Resources and Services Administration&#8217;s diversity program, and helps facilitate the application process for nursing schools to get grants.
&#8220;Since 2016, AACN has provided technical assistance program to nursing schools receiving funding through the Nursing Workforce Diversity (NWD) program offered by the Health Resources and Services Administration,&#8221; the group <a href="https://www.aacnnursing.org/news-data/fact-sheets/enhancing-diversity-in-the-nursing-workforce" target="_blank" rel="noopener">notes</a> on its website. &#8220;AACN’s assistance includes an assessment of admissions practices, an on-site Holistic Admissions Review workshop, student recruitment and retention strategies, and models for building a successful mentoring program.&#8221;
In January, the American Association of Colleges of Nursing released a press release noting it could offer &#8220;expert consulting&#8221; for nursing schools interested in applying for Health Resources and Services Administration grants.
Do No Harm told The Daily Wire that the Department of Health and Human Services must end the Nursing Workforce Diversity program &#8220;immediately.&#8221;
The program &#8220;is a clear example of the federal government using its vast funding capabilities to encourage and incentivize racial discrimination,&#8221; Do No Harm wrote in its report. &#8220;The nursing workforce is best served when nursing education programs select the best and the brightest, when excellence and merit are prioritized rather than race.&#8221;

A female nurse in England is suing after she says she was investigated and disciplined by her hospital for accidentally addressing a trans-identifying male pedophile as “mister.”
Jennifer Melle, 40, was treating the criminal, referred to as Patient X by media outlets, after he was sent to the St. Helier Hospital in Carshalton, Surrey, from a men’s prison to receive treatment for a urinary problem, The Telegraph <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/03/23/nhs-nurse-punished-for-calling-transgender-paedophile-mr/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. Melle addressed the inmate as “mister” and “he” without knowing he identified as female.
Melle said she called the patient a male when discussing with another medical professional about the need for a male catheter to be removed.
“This was a real-life medical scenario that required accurate terminology to avoid any doubt between medical professionals,” she said.
The patient overheard this conversation, and that’s when he became enraged.
When she did so, Patient X took issue, and Melle told him that she could not refer to him with female pronouns because “it’s against my faith and Christian values but I can call you by your name.” The patient then allegedly began an angry and aggressive tirade against Melle, calling her the “n-word” three times.
“Imagine if I called you n*****? How about I call you n*****? Yes, black n*****,” the patient yelled, according to the outlet’s review of Melle’s lawsuit.
The patient also lunged at Melle despite being restrained and threatened to file a complaint against her, Melle alleged in her lawsuit.
“It was terrifying. I’d never been called that word before. And I thought I was going to be attacked,” she told the outlet.
Despite the patient’s outburst and alleged attack, it was Melle who suffered the consequences. She was investigated and disciplined by her hospital in October 2024, and received a final warning and a referral to the Nursing and Midwifery Council, the Telegraph reported. Last month, she received a letter from that Council, saying it was assessing her ability to continue practicing as a nurse.
The Council’s code of conduct tells nurses they cannot “express your personal beliefs (including political, religious or moral beliefs) in an inappropriate way.” The Council told Melle that, although she “felt unable to identify Patient X using the preferred pronouns due to her religion&#8230; it could be perceived that [Ms Melle’s] actions could… be seen as a potential breach of the code.”
Melle said in her lawsuit that she did not believe she violated the Council’s code and noted that a white colleague also called the patient a male but was not investigated or disciplined. She believes her Christian beliefs could be to blame.
“Ever since I have expressed my Christian beliefs under extreme pressure, I have been a marked woman,” she said, according to the Telegraph.

Nurses in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kentucky" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kentucky</a> were told they could face &#8220;discipline&#8221; after they were mandated to take an implicit bias training that claimed there is a &#8220;history of racism in healthcare.&#8221; 
The training, required by the Kentucky Board of Nursing, instructs the health care workers to &#8220;recognize the history of racism in healthcare,” <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/restoring-america/fairness-justice/kentucky-board-nursing-legal-discipline-structural-racism-training" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to a new report from The Washington Examiner. The training, which was required by July 1, included discussions that said it was racist to suggest “institutional racism” didn’t exist or saying that people could advance through hard work. 
&#8220;In order to lead to meaningful change, any exploration of implicit bias must be situated as part of a much larger conversation on racism and bias,&#8221; says a slide from the training, which was put on by Kentucky Nurses Association Board of Directors Treasurer Arica Brandford and CEO Delanor Manson.
Nurses were taught that examples of “covert racism” included &#8220;white silence,&#8221; &#8220;denying institutional racism,&#8221; the phrase &#8220;there&#8217;s only one human race,” &#8220;bootstrap theory,&#8221; &#8220;Eurocentric school curricula,&#8221; &#8220;weaponizing whiteness,&#8221; &#8220;fetishizing POC,&#8221; &#8220;claiming &#8216;reverse racism,'&#8221; &#8220;excusing/ &#8216;white-splaining&#8217; racism,&#8221; and suggesting there was no such thing as white privilege. 
Many nurses were frustrated with the class and objected to the content, but were worried they would be disciplined if they chose not to complete it. 
&#8220;They pretty much said we&#8217;re all guilty of being racist, and we need to examine the way that we take care of patients and change our behaviors because we are giving substandard care,&#8221; 40-year nursing veteran Rebecca Wall told the Examiner. 
&#8220;It&#8217;s offensive to be told if you don&#8217;t do this course, you&#8217;re out after 40 years,&#8221; she added. &#8220;A whole career spent in the field because you don&#8217;t agree to the one dogma: you&#8217;re done, you&#8217;re valueless, you&#8217;re not worth it anymore.&#8221;
According to the board of nursing, “implicit bias” training is required for nurses by a committee of the Kentucky General Assembly and &#8220;failure to do it could result in a civil sanction or discipline.&#8221;

Laura Morgan, a program manager at Do No Harm, an organization <a href="https://donoharmmedicine.org/about/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">devoted</a> to protecting “healthcare from a radical, divisive, and discriminatory ideology,” said that some of the woke concepts manifesting at the state level were trickling down from the national American Nurses Association. She said that former ANA President Ernest Grant started moving the organization to the Left following the riots after the death of George Floyd.

Negotiators <a href="https://www.nysna.org/press/2023/nysna-nurses-mount-sinai-morningside-and-west-reach-tentative-agreement#.Y7wo7HbMKUk" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reached</a> tentative agreements at seven other hospitals that will grant nurses pay raises over the next three years, lower costs for healthcare coverage, and improve staffing standards.
“The entire New York City Labor Movement stands with our nurses, who are courageously taking action against dangerous understaffing that threatens the safety of their patients,” AFL-CIO New York City Central Labor Council President Vincent Alvarez remarked. “The decision to go on strike is never an easy one, particularly for workers who care so deeply about the patients and communities they serve. But hospital executives created this crisis by failing to hire, train, and retain nurses while at the same time treating themselves to extravagant compensation packages. Now it’s time for them to fix what they’ve broken.”
Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), as well as several members of the State Senate and State Assembly, voiced support for the strike.
“Nurses have been through hell and back for their patients,” Bowman commented. “They already fought unimaginable fights to keep us healthy and alive, and they shouldn’t have to keep fighting. Safe staffing ratios and healthy conditions common in every hospital.”
Roughly 12% of healthcare practitioners in the United States were members of unions as of 2021, according to <a href="https://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/union2.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">data</a> from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. New York had the second-highest overall union membership rate in the nation, with 22.2% of workers belonging to a labor union.
New York State Nurses Association officials encouraged residents to continue seeking healthcare services despite the strikes. Governor Kathy Hochul (D-NY) called for binding arbitration at Montefiore and Mount Sinai, affirming that the New York State Department of Health will enforce “staffing requirements under the law” at the hospitals.

The American Nurses Association, which describes itself as “the premier organization representing the interests of the nation&#8217;s 4.2 million registered nurses,” issued a statement on Wednesday opposing laws or polices that place restrictions on transgender health care or criminalize gender-affirming care.
Claiming “transgender and gender-diverse youth and their parents or guardians who choose to access gender-affirming care may come under legal assault in many states,” ANA declared, “The legislative intent and medical claims behind these laws are not grounded in reputable science and conflict with the nurse’s obligation to promote, advocate, and protect the rights, health, and safety of patients.”
“‘I absolutely think the ANA is failing children with this statement,” Jay Richards of The Heritage Foundation snapped to <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-11361341/Fury-American-Nursing-Association-calls-restrictions-child-sex-changes-lifted.html">The Daily Mail</a>. “It does not cite any scientific evidence, it is a piece of political advocacy that I honestly suspect is the product of a small group of people in the organization who are advocates.”
“Transgender and gender-diverse individuals report improved health and mental wellbeing after receiving gender-affirming care,” ANA claimed, suggesting to “learn more” about gender-affirming care people should visit the <a href="https://cdn.ymaws.com/www.texasnurses.org/resource/resmgr/docs/gac/2021/gender-affirming_care.pdf">Texas Nurses Association Position Statement on Gender-Affirming Care</a>.
That statement includes information such as this:

Documents revealed in August showed that American pediatricians had slammed the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) for pushing puberty-blocking drugs for teens who claimed they were a different gender.
Furious pediatricians who are members of the AAP accused the AAP of changing its rules so that Resolution 27, which proposed a “rigorous systematic review&#8221; of the AAP’s 2018 gender policy, was blocked. The proposed resolution did not advance at the AAP leadership conference in Chicago, the only resolution affected by new procedural rules the AAP set up earlier this year.
Frustrated, members posted their objections to the AAP in the comments section for a separate resolution on the organization’s members-only website, <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11099561/Leaked-internal-files-pediatricians-angry-professional-bodys-transgender-policy.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Mail</a> stated in an exclusive report. One comment declared, “The AAP is endorsing great harm without high-quality or long-term evidence of benefit.”
That comment added that the “transgender woman” who was the “country&#8217;s leading vaginoplasty surgeon” in some country reported that “100% of males put on the affirmative care/Dutch protocol lose all sexual sensation and function. They are stripped of the ability to ever have sexual intimacy or fall in love.”
“I am wholeheartedly in support of RESOLUTION 27, which interestingly, has been removed from the list of resolutions for comment,” another comment read. “I can no longer trust the AAP to provide medical evidence based education with regard to care for TGD individuals. This past year at the AAP national conference, ongoing debate on the matter was silenced egregiously.”
“Before promulgating gender-affirming care, with all of its ethical implications (irreversible bodily changes, sterility, etc.) … don&#8217;t we want to be sure this is the best path?” one pediatrician asked.
Julia Mason, one of the five authors of Resolution 27, told The Daily Mail, “&#8217;I&#8217;m really disappointed the AAP is being driven by ideology, rather than evidence. &#8230; They&#8217;re embarrassed that they&#8217;ve let young activist doctors get them on record in support of gender-affirming care, and now they can&#8217;t backtrack. They&#8217;ve suppressed my efforts and come up with new rules to hide what we&#8217;re trying to say from rank and file pediatricians.”

A British nurse who has been accused of murdering seven premature babies allegedly sent a condolence card to the parents of one of the babies she is charged with killing.
Lucy Letby, who is also accused of seven murders and the attempts to murder ten more babies at the Countess of Chester Hospital between June 2015 and June 2016, admitted to police she had sent the card, claiming the action was “not normal.”
In her trial she acknowledged she had an image of the card on her cell phone, according to testimony. The card came after the nurse had allegedly attempted to kill the child three times before succeeding on the fourth attempt.
Although the child was doing well until Letby “got her hands on her,” prosecuting attorney Nick Johnson asserted, after that the baby vomited and exhibited breathing problems. He added, “It was persistent, it was calculated and it was cold-blooded,” as <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11309843/Cold-blooded-nurse-Lucy-Letby-murdered-baby-girl-fourth-attempt-sent-sympathy-card.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Mail</a> reported.
Letby allegedly injected babies with insulin, air or overfed them with milk at night when the parents were not present.
Johnson also <a href="https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/police-find-note-saying-i-25252240" target="_blank" rel="noopener">showed the jury</a> an image of a yellow Post-it note kept by Letby. He declared that she wrote, “I don&#8217;t deserve to live. I killed them on purpose because I&#8217;m not good enough,” “I am a horrible evil person,” and in capital letters, “I AM EVIL I DID THIS.”
Johnson concluded, “Well, ladies and gentlemen, that in a nutshell is your task in this case. Whether or not she did these dreadful things is the decision you will have to make when you have heard all the evidence.”

The prosecution at Letby’s trail claimed she tried to kill twins more than once and in June 2016 murdered two babies who were part of triplets while the third baby survived.
In the case of the first child Letby is alleged to have murdered, the prosecution claimed she first injected air into the baby’s stomach before trying twice more. After the third attempt the baby was transferred to another unit, making a substantial recovery, but then was returned to Letby&#8217;s care where the baby collapsed and needed cardiac compressions.
When the parents arrived after the baby’s death, they were asked if they wanted to bathe their baby. Johnson related that as the baby&#8217;s mother “bathed her recently departed child, Letby came into the room and, in the words of the mother, was ‘smiling and kept going on about how she was present at Child I&#8217;s first bath and how much [the child] had loved it.&#8217;’”
“A post mortem revealed that all the loops in the infant&#8217;s bowel were significantly dilated due to increased air content,” The Daily Mail reported.
“We suggest that it is highly significant that children within the orbit of Lucy Letby persistently and consistently suffered unexplained collapses,” Johnson contended.
“Sometimes the evidence of her hand at work is more obvious than others and it is remarkable that on many occasions when children who had suffered unexpected spectacular and life-threatening collapses were removed from her orbit, they had exceptional recoveries,” he asserted.

A <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/canada" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Canadian nurse</a> who publicly supported famed “Harry Potter” author <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/jk-rowling" target="_blank" rel="noopener">J.K. Rowling</a> and insists that men cannot become women, is at risk of losing her job as she faces a hearing from a national medical board.
As far back as November 2020, Amy Eileen Hamm, a single mother with two young sons, has faced an investigation from the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) after two people had lodged complained about her, according to the nurse. She is now in the <a href="https://www.bccnm.ca/Public/complaints/Pages/Notice.aspx?NoticeID=790" target="_blank" rel="noopener">midst</a> of a three-day hearing, after which she will face another hearing in October.
“I was denounced with the slur ‘TERF’ (trans-exclusionary radical feminist), which was in 2016,” Hamm wrote in April 2022 in <a href="https://quillette.com/2022/04/08/im-being-investigated-by-the-british-columbia-college-of-nurses-because-i-believe-biological-sex-is-real/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Quillette</a>. The term “TERF” has also been used by transgender activists to target Rowling, for whom Hamm helped put up a billboard expressing her support, simply writing, “I ♥ JK Rowling.”
Once she became aware of the threat to her livelihood, Hamm initially hired attorney Lisa Bildy, then with Canada’s Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms explaining, “I had no assurances that my union-provided legal representative wouldn’t be ideologically sympathetic with my accusers.”
“And as it turned out, this was a good call: My province’s nurses’ union has since lobbied the Canadian government (without, to my knowledge, consulting members) to pass a controversial bill that threatens healthcare workers with prison time if they do not immediately ‘affirm’ the stated gender of any patient, no matter how young,&#8221; she added.
Hamm is adamant about her opposition to the radical gender theory sweeping Canada and the U.S.
“Men are not women. Humans are a dimorphic species,” Hamm wrote in her April article. “Women and men are biologically different from one another. Women and girls have sex-based rights as a result of those differences. Those rights are under threat. This is the truth. It has always been the truth. Speaking the truth should not be a punishable offense.”
The Justice Centre issued a July 2021 press <a href="https://www.jccf.ca/nurse-being-investigated-by-college-of-nurses-for-her-gender-critical-views/">release</a> expressing concern that activists are &#8220;weaponizing&#8221; agencies that regulate professions in a bid to force people to adopt radical ideologies. The agencies use lengthy disciplinary procedures, even when the complaints are from activists and not clients or, in Hamm&#8217;s case, patients, the group said.
“The Justice Centre’s submissions defend the right of health professionals to express their opinions on matters of policy in the public square and argue that everyone is entitled to freedom of thought, belief, opinion, and expression, as guaranteed by the Charter—including health professionals,” they added.
Hamm has said her case was important for the future of nurses and midwives throughout Canada.
“If I win my case, I believe that the dividends will accrue to nurses and midwives all across my province, and maybe even the whole country. The precedent will help ensure that we can call out gender-identity ideology without fear of reprisal or loss of livelihood,” Hamm said.
Just days before the initial hearing, Hamm has not been reticent to make her views known.

The site also noted that most people who go through the procedure take medication for anxiety.
<a href="https://www.womenshealthmatters.ca/health-centres/sexual-health/abortion/manual-vacuum-aspiration/">Manual vacuum aspiration</a> is another form of abortion performed in early pregnancy. In the procedure, a syringe is used as the suction device.
“As judges and lawmakers across the country continue to throw pregnant women into impossible and perilous positions, I am proud that California is resolutely moving in the opposite direction,” Senate President pro Temper Toni Atkins <a href="https://sd39.senate.ca.gov/news/20220830-senate-leader-atkins%E2%80%99-bill-expand-abortion-services-reproductive-care-passes">said</a>.
“Abortion is health care—period. And like other medical decisions, it is a private conversation between patients and their health care providers. By expanding the number of nurse practitioners who can perform first trimester abortions, SB 1375 would give more people the ability to get the timely, essential care they need from a provider they know and trust,” Atkins added. “We need to do everything we can to ensure abortion care is not only protected, but expanded in California.”
The measure now heads to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/gavin-newsom">Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom’s</a> desk for signature. The bill is also intended to create more positions for people to carry out abortions. California is expected to receive more women from outside of the state whose home states restrict the procedure.
“California is facing a serious doctor shortage that is only anticipated to worsen over the next 10 years. It would leave countless women and families at great risk, but there is a solution in front of us—nurse practitioners,” Atkins said. “We have a workforce of trained and experienced nurse practitioners across the state who are ready to help fill the provider gap. With SB 1375, we can ensure more patients have access the quality, affordable reproductive care they need and deserve.”
The state has been preparing to become a place to which women can travel in order to get abortions as pro-life states across the country outlaw or severely limit the ability to get an abortion. California is set to allocate up to $20 million to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/california-moves-to-allow-public-money-to-pay-for-out-of-state-abortions">assist</a> women from outside states to get abortions in California. A new amendment was unveiled on Friday that would permit the state to spend public funds on out-of-state travel for abortions.

A hospital in Missouri is going to experience an incoming baby boom as 11 members of its staff — ten nurses and one doctor — are pregnant at the same time. 
Most of the pregnant employees are nurses at Liberty Hospital’s Birthing Center and they noted they are hoping to give birth at that location when they go into labor, per <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Family/11-staffers-missouri-hospital-pregnant-time/story?id=84589251">ABC News</a>, which also reported that the simultaneous pregnancies were not planned.
&#8220;There&#8217;s a lot of nurses saying they won&#8217;t drink the water,&#8221; Hannah Miller, a postpartum nurse expecting her first kid, told &#8220;Good Morning America.&#8221; 
&#8220;One of the nurses actually brought her own water bottle the other night and I was joking with her. I was like, ‘Oh, you&#8217;re really not drinking the water,'&#8221; Miller added. 
Dr. Anna Gorman, of Northland Obstetrics and Gynecology said it wasn’t probable that all 11 of the staffers would be expecting at the same time. Gorman is expecting her second kid. 
&#8220;I think it&#8217;s really unique because it&#8217;s all in the same unit … and especially like our population ratio, I think is quite high. So sure it happens, but it&#8217;s pretty exciting when it&#8217;s this big,” the OB-GYN said.
&#8220;This is definitely a great experience and it&#8217;s something that I feel like we&#8217;ll probably bond over for a lifetime, having the babies due around the same time,&#8221; Alex Atcheson, a labor and delivery nurse, told “GMA.” “It&#8217;s been great to have each other for support and go through pregnancy together.”
Atcheson and her coworker Alison Harrell are 37 weeks pregnant and will give birth in the next two weeks, as both of them have the same due date of May 27. Their labor and delivery colleague, Katie Bestgen, is also due soon — on July 20.
“Alex and I figured out pretty early that we were due the same day,&#8221; Harrell said. &#8220;And then we started making a list of everyone and people just kept adding to the list as time went on.”
Christen Burns, 26, said she “was one of the last ones to tell everybody that I was pregnant,” and is expecting her first kid. She said, &#8220;I think it was just more exciting to add to the group and have everybody right there with me.”
The nurses and colleagues have been discussing their personal experiences, as well as taking part in celebrating the joyful news. 
&#8220;It&#8217;s been really helpful. Just like getting advice and tips from my coworkers and especially the ones that have had babies before and just relating and like, ‘Oh, do you have problems with your hips too, or different pains or that kind of thing?'&#8221; Cheyenne Beaty said. 
The 26-year-old labor and delivery nurse has enjoyed having people at work who can help give her support. “It’s just nice that there&#8217;s people around me going through the same thing for sure,&#8221; she said.
Therese Byrum is 27 years old, and said that recently there have been a minimum of two pregnant employees working together on a shift and they’ve also had situations where everybody was pregnant on a shift. The obstetric float nurse goes between labor and delivery, the NICU, and in postpartum, and she will be one of the last employees to deliver her child, expecting her fourth kid on Thanksgiving Day.

A nurse who worked at a nursing facility in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, was fired after posting TikTok videos in which she spoke about unplugging a patient’s ventilator in order to charge her phone, giving patients extra sleeping pills so she could get more sleep, and &#8220;slapping patients for a million dollars.&#8221;
Kelly Morris, employed at The Citadel in Winston-Salem, posted social media under the name &#8220;bubblegumkelz,&#8221; as reported by <a href="https://news.yahoo.com/nurse-suspended-tiktok-videos-mistreating-203650175.html">The Independent</a>. She also reportedly created a GoFundMe page titled, “Fired over a TikTok?!?”
Morris stated in the text of videos, “I’d unplug your vent to charge my cell phone.” “Me on my way to give my patients drugs so WE can get some good sleep tonight.” “Me making sure all my patients sleep all night cause they kept me up last night.” In one video, she says via a voice-over, “That’s what I always do and they never catch me. Ain’t nobody gonna catch me.” “Would you slap a patient for a million dollars?” she asked rhetorically in a caption, then put on sunglasses and answered, “It ain’t about the money.”

Morris issued a short statement saying, “The only thing hurt in my TikTok videos were people’s feelings. All my videos are comedy skits. I can understand how someone can be upset but not to the degree they are taking it. No one was ever harmed and I treat all my patients with great care and they all love me.”
The nursing facility’s parent company, Accordius Health, issued this statement to <a href="https://www.wxii12.com/article/triad-nurse-says-she-was-suspended-over-joke-tiktok-videos/36867564">WXII 12 News</a>:

We are grateful for the global healthcare team that protects the elderly with pride in our profession.</blockquote>
“Morris said she thinks this is an example of so-called ‘cancel culture’ and said she feels as though it is a targeted campaign against her from people who do not understand humor,” WXII News reported.
As of Sunday morning, the <a href="https://www.gofundme.com/f/firednurse?qid=2eb5dd50f46c1c7a1c834fee4e8c9173">GoFundMe</a> page has raised $210 of the $20,000 goal. The page reads, “First I’m going to say to the people that were offended by my ‘jokes’ on TikTok, I will apologize. No one was actually harmed or in any danger, they were bad taste jokes. I am out of work due to these ‘jokes.’ Second, I still have children that are in my custody as a single mother that still need basic needs. I’m no longer commenting on the negativity I am receiving.”
