Monday&#8217;s World Cup matches featured the biggest names in the sport scoring multiple goals each for their second consecutive group stage games.
Argentina, France, and Norway all took the field Monday in hopes of clinching their spot in the round of 32. Their superstars did all the work in pushing their countries to victory, creating an exciting race for the Golden Boot, the award given to the leading goal scorer in the tournament.
Argentina started the action off with a 2-0 win over Austria, and Argentine star Lionel Messi <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-messi-sets-all-time-record-for-world-cup-goals">made history</a> by scoring his 17th career World Cup goal, tying the all-time record. The goal came in the 38th minute after he missed a penalty kick earlier in the first half.
Messi added to the all-time total when Argentina made the best of a chance late in the second half, resulting in Messi putting the ball into the back of the net following chaos in front of the goal. His second goal also pushed him past Brazilian female star Marta Vieira da Silva, who held the record for World Cup goals for the women at 17.

France took on Iraq in the second game of Monday’s action, as it looked to build off its dominant opening-game victory over Senegal. Just 14 minutes into the game, France’s Kylian Mbappé picked up where he left off, scoring from 26 yards out. 
This game also featured the first weather delay, as lightning and wind in the area delayed the second half by an hour after France took a 1-0 lead into the break when the rain started to pour in.
When play finally resumed, France and Mbappé did not seem fazed by the long wait. After a miscommunication and a massive mistake by Iraq, Mbappé scored his 16th career World Cup goal and fourth this tournament. Another goal from fellow star Ousmane Dembélé secured the win for France.

The goal ties former all-time leader Germany’s Miroslav Klose, whom Messi passed just a few hours prior. Mbappé and Messi are battling for that top goal scorer spot in tournament history, but Norway’s Erling Haaland is right with them in the race for this year&#8217;s Golden Boot.
The Norwegians took down Senegal’s national team 3-2. Marcus Holmgren Pedersen started things off for Norway, scoring just two minutes before the first half ended to take the 1-0 lead.
Haaland came to play in the second half, scoring both of his goals within 10 minutes of each other at the 48th and 58th minutes.

Despite two goals on the other side from Ismaïla Sarr, Senegal lost its second straight group stage match, putting its hopes of advancing on life support.
After the domination from the stars, Algeria and Jordan took the pitch in the final game of the day in a back-and-forth affair. Jordan took a surprising lead after Nizar Al-Rashdan scored in the 36th minute. Algeria finally responded late in the second half, thanks to Nadhir Benbouali netting one in during the 69th minute, and Amine Gouiri scoring the game-winning goal for Algeria in the 82nd minute.
This loss eliminates Jordan from advancing to the knockout stage, but keeps Algeria alive as it is now tied with Austria in second place in Group J.
Groups L and K take the field later today with Colombia and England looking to continue their winning ways against the Democratic Republic of Congo and Ghana. Portugal will look to rebound against Uzbekistan, and Croatia seeks its first win of this year’s tournament against Panama.

World Economic Forum President Børge Brende said Thursday he will step down from the organization, citing “distractions” stemming from his past ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. 
Brende’s resignation follows the release of Justice Department emails that shed light on his relationship with Epstein, prompting an internal inquiry by the WEF. 
“After careful consideration, I have decided to step down as President and CEO of the World Economic Forum. My time here, spanning 8½ years, has been profoundly rewarding,” Brende said. “I am grateful for the incredible collaboration with my colleagues, partners, and constituents, and I believe now is the right moment for the Forum to continue its important work without distractions.”
In a statement, WEF Board of Trustees co-chairs André Hoffmann and Larry Fink thanked Brende for his service and said that the inquiry found “no additional concerns beyond what has been previously disclosed.” Board member Alois Zwinggi will serve as interim president while the search for a replacement is conducted.
In 2018 and 2019, Brende had three dinners with Epstein, roughly a decade after Epstein&#8217;s 2008 conviction for solicitation of prostitution from a minor. Brende claimed he did not know about Epstein’s criminal past at the time. 
&#8220;I was completely unaware of ​Epstein&#8217;s past and criminal activities,&#8221; Brende said earlier this month. “Had I known about his background, I would have declined the initial invitation to join [former Norwegian Deputy Prime Minister Terje Rod-Larsen] and any subsequent dinner invitations ⁠or other communications.”
Brende previously served as Norway&#8217;s minister of foreign affairs. 
Emails released by the Justice Department appear to show Brende referring to Epstein as his “friend” and arranging a dinner at the convicted sex offender’s Manhattan home. The correspondence also indicates that the two discussed how the World Economic Forum could one day replace the United Nations. 
In a September 16, 2018, email, Epstein wrote to a person identified as Brende, “davos [sic] can really replace the UN. cyber, crypto. genetics&#8230; Intl coordination. like my stint at the trilateral. issues now need to deal with the distributed trust. and intemet [sic] fallout.”
The message appears to reference the World Economic Forum&#8217;s annual meeting in Davos.
Brende <a href="https://www.justice.gov/epstein/files/DataSet%2011/EFTA02622851.pdf">replied</a>, “Exactly &#8211; we need a new global architecture. World Economic Forum (Davos) is uniquely positioned &#8211;public private,&#8221; according to an email released by the Justice Department. 
A September 21, 2018, <a href="https://www.justice.gov/epstein/files/DataSet%209/EFTA00481813.pdf">email</a> appears to confirm a dinner between Epstein, Brende, and leftist journalist Michael Wolff. In a separate message around the same time, Brende appears to confirm the dinner with Epstein’s assistant. 
“I&#8217;m already looking forward,” Brende <a href="https://www.justice.gov/epstein/files/DataSet%209/EFTA00481835.pdf">wrote</a> on September 21, 2018. In response, Epstein’s assistant wrote, “He looks forward to seeing you!”
In a separate <a href="https://www.justice.gov/epstein/files/DataSet%209/EFTA01022370.pdf">email</a> on that same day, Brende told Epstein he was “looking forward” to the dinner and referred to him as “my friend.” 
In March 2019, Brende <a href="https://www.justice.gov/epstein/files/DataSet%2011/EFTA02636878.pdf">wrote</a> to Epstein, “Best regards from Moscow and Riyadh&#8230;.” 
A June 2019 email shows the two <a href="https://www.justice.gov/epstein/files/DataSet%2011/EFTA02290348.pdf">setting up</a> another dinner at Epstein’s Manhattan home. 
The Justice Department&#8217;s release of the Epstein files has had international repercussions, including arrests in the United Kingdom of former Prince Andrew and former U.S. Ambassador Peter Mandelson, both of whom have been accused of sharing confidential information with Epstein.

Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre responded after President Donald Trump said he was ready to abandon &#8220;peace&#8221; as the primary goal of his efforts to obtain control of Greenland.
Gahr Støre <a href="https://www.pbs.org/newshour/world/norwegian-leader-says-he-received-trump-message-that-reportedly-ties-greenland-to-nobel-peace-prize">confirmed</a> on Monday that he had spoken with Trump via text about the president&#8217;s plan to implement new tariffs as leverage to force Denmark into a deal over Greenland — and that he had initially suggested a phone call to &#8220;de-escalate&#8221; tensions.
&#8220;I can confirm that this is a text message that I received yesterday afternoon from President Trump. It came in response to a short text message from me to President Trump sent earlier on the same day, on behalf of myself and the President of Finland Alexander Stubb,&#8221; Gahr Støre explained.
&#8220;In our message to Trump, we conveyed our opposition to his announced tariff increases against Norway, Finland, and select other countries. We pointed to the need to de-escalate and proposed a telephone conversation between Trump, Stubb, and myself on the same day,&#8221; Gahr Støre said, adding, &#8220;The response from Trump came shortly after the message was sent. It was his decision to share his message with other NATO leaders.&#8221;
Gahr Støre went on to say that he&#8217;d addressed Trump&#8217;s efforts to link the actions of the Nobel Committee and the actions of the Norwegian government, explaining that the committee was entirely independent and was not influenced by the government in any way. He also offered his full-throated defense of Denmark with regard to Trump&#8217;s attempts to gain control of Greenland.
&#8220;Norway’s position on Greenland is clear. Greenland is a part of the Kingdom of Denmark, and Norway fully supports the Kingdom of Denmark on this matter,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We also support that NATO in a responsible way is taking steps to strengthen security and stability in the Arctic. As regards the Nobel Peace Prize, I have clearly explained, including to president Trump, what is well known, the prize is awarded by an independent Nobel Committee and not the Norwegian Government.&#8221;

The five-person Nobel Peace Prize Committee, selected by Norway&#8217;s legislature, awarded last year&#8217;s prize to Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado despite Trump&#8217;s strong push to win it for himself.

Trump has said he is concerned that China or Russia will move to take over Greenland if the United States doesn&#8217;t take control of the territory soon. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent echoed Trump&#8217;s message on Greenland during an appearance on NBC&#8217;s &#8220;Meet the Press&#8221; on Sunday, saying the &#8220;fight for the Arctic is real.&#8221;
“Make it part of the United States, and there will not be a conflict,” Bessent said. “Because the United States right now, we are the hottest country in the world; we are the strongest country in the world. Europeans project weakness; U.S. projects strength.”

Several European countries will expand their military presence around Greenland, the Danish Armed Forces announced Wednesday.
“The geopolitical tensions have spread to the Arctic,” the Danish Ministry of Defence said. “From today, there will be an expanded military presence in and around Greenland – in close cooperation with NATO allies.”
The countries involved in the expanded military deployment include Germany, France, Sweden, and Norway, which are all members of NATO. According to the Danish Armed Forces, the increase will include aircraft, vessels, and soldiers, with contributions from other NATO allies.
The announcement follows statements by President Donald Trump, who has repeatedly said that the United States should take control of Greenland for national security reasons. Trump said Russian and Chinese vessels are threatening the Danish-controlled island.
Greenland is a self-governing territory within the Kingdom of Denmark, with control over most domestic affairs, while Denmark retains authority over foreign policy and defense. Denmark has consistently maintained that Greenland is not for sale, despite U.S. discussions about options, including the purchase of the territory and financial incentives for residents.
On Wednesday, Danish and Greenlandic leaders met with American officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President JD Vance, at the White House. 
The Danish leaders attending the meeting are expected to hold a press conference later on Wednesday afternoon.
On Wednesday morning, Trump reiterated his view that Greenland is “vital” for the U.S. missile defense system, the so-called “Golden Dome,” and urged NATO to take the lead. “The United States needs Greenland for the purpose of National Security… If we don’t, Russia or China will, and that is not going to happen!” he wrote.
Trump added that NATO’s effectiveness depends on American strength and that Greenland under U.S. control would make the alliance “far more formidable.”

Secretary of State Marco Rubio defended Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir on Tuesday after five Western governments imposed sanctions on them for “extremist rhetoric.”
The countries sanctioning the two Israeli cabinet members include Canada, the United Kingdom, Norway, New Zealand, and Australia. They released <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/news/foreign-ministers-joint-statement-on-measures-targeting-itamar-ben-gvir-and-bezalel-smotrich">a joint statement</a> claiming the officials had “incited extremist violence and serious abuses of Palestinian human rights” in Judea and Samaria, also known as the West Bank.
“These sanctions do not advance U.S.-led efforts to achieve a ceasefire, bring all hostages home, and end the war,” Rubio <a href="https://x.com/SecRubio/status/1932536569107525916">said in a statement</a>. “We reject any notion of equivalence: Hamas is a terrorist organization that committed unspeakable atrocities, continues to hold innocent civilians hostage, and prevents the people of Gaza from living in peace.”
Rubio added that the United States “urges the reversal of the sanctions” and “stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Israel.”

The sanctions reportedly include travel bans and asset freezes, though the ministers are not known to have any assets in those countries.
In the five countries’ statement, they claim that the situation in Judea and Samaria cannot be viewed separately from “the catastrophe” in Gaza. They added that they are &#8220;appalled by the immense suffering of civilians, including the denial of essential aid” and that they oppose “unlawful transfer of Palestinians from Gaza or within the West Bank” or any reduction of the territory of the Gaza Strip.
The countries accuse Ben-Gvir and Smotrich of “extremist rhetoric” including allegedly advocating for the “forced displacement of Palestinians and the creation of new Israeli settlements.”
Both Ben-Gvir and Smotrich are the Israeli boogeymen to the Israeli Left and Western media due to their extremely nationalistic and hawkish right-wing views, including for the expansion of settlements in Judea and Samaria and support for <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/israel-announces-plans-to-create-an-emigration-administration-to-relocate-gazans">relocating Gazans</a> from the Gaza Strip.

Smotrich responded <a href="https://x.com/bezalelsm/status/1932419325865889825">in a speech</a> on Tuesday while he was inaugurating the new Israeli settlement “Mitzpe Ziv” in the Hebron Hills.
“I heard that Britain had decided to impose sanctions on me for obstructing the establishment of the Palestinian state,” he said. “The timing couldn&#8217;t be better.”
He added that Britain has already once attempted to prevent Jews from “settling in the cradle of our homeland” and that “we are determined to continue building.”
In the five countries’ statement, they repeatedly mention the two-state solution, a plan for both an Israeli and Palestinian state, claiming that it is “extremist rhetoric” to reject such a plan.
U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Huckabee said that the United States no longer backs the establishment of a Palestinian state in Judea and Samaria, in an interview with Bloomberg <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-06-10/us-holds-deep-doubts-about-palestinian-state-ambassador-says">published Tuesday</a>.

There have been several publicized incidents involving artists being hit with objects during their performances in recent years. In 2023, Rexha was hit in the face with a cell phone during a concert in New York City. 
As The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bebe-rexha-shares-photo-with-fans-after-being-hit-in-face-by-cell-phone-at-concert">reported</a>, the NYPD arrested 27-year-old Nicolas Malvagna on assault and harassment charges following the incident. He reportedly said he was “trying to see if he could” hit the singer with his phone at the end of the show because he thought “it would be funny.”
Rexha shared images to her social media shortly after the incident, including a photo of her bruised and swollen face. “I&#8217;m good,” the caption said.
More recently, the recording artist threatened to “take down” the music industry with information she claimed to have. 
“I could bring down a BIG chunk of this industry. I AM frustrated. I Have been UNDERMINED. I’ve been so quiet for the longest time. I haven’t seen the signs even though people constantly are bringing them up and they have been SO OBVIOUS,” Rexha <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/pop-singer-threatens-to-bring-down-the-music-industry-ive-been-silenced-and-punished">wrote</a> on X last week.

The Government Pension Fund Global, which <a href="https://www.nbim.no/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">manages</a> more than $1.3 trillion in assets, reported a loss of $163 billion last year, constituting 14.1% of the overall fund. Performance slightly trailed a 12.8% decline in the STOXX 600 Index, which tracks major European firms.
“The market was impacted by war in Europe, high inflation, and rising interest rates,” Norges Bank Investment Management CEO Nicolai Tangen said in a <a href="https://www.nbim.no/en/the-fund/news-list/2023/negative-returns-in-a-challenging-year/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a>. “This negatively impacted both the equity market and bond market at the same time, which is very unusual. The Government Pension Fund Global is not <a href="https://www.regjeringen.no/en/historical-archive/solbergs-government/Ministries/fin/press-releases/2019/excludes-exploration-and-production-companies-from-the-government-pension-fund-global/id2631707/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">permitted</a> to invest in companies that engage in petroleum exploration and production, although managers may devote funds to companies that refine or sell the fuel. Among other entities, the fund is <a href="https://www.nbim.no/en/the-fund/responsible-investment/exclusion-of-companies/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">barred</a> from investing in Imperial Oil, the second-largest oil company in Canada. Although the fund believes Imperial Oil produces “unacceptable greenhouse gas emissions,” the company saw 27.4% stock market returns over the past year.
Investment funds that subscribe to the environmental, social, and corporate governance movement, also known as ESG, have suffered <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/virtue-signaling-isnt-free-how-woke-investing-fell-apart-once-the-economy-got-bad" target="_blank" rel="noopener">heavy losses</a> over the past year. Harvard Management Company, which manages the elite university’s endowment, recently <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/harvard-university-endowment-loses-2-3-billion" target="_blank" rel="noopener">admitted</a> that its $2.3 billion loss was attributable to fossil fuel divestment efforts, even though the organization remains “proud to be deeply engaged in the issue of sustainability.”
Critics of the ESG movement assert that the strategy seeks outcomes in political and social causes, such as reducing carbon emissions and achieving racial diversity, in a manner that compromises the maximization of profits.

Archeologists believe they have discovered the “world&#8217;s oldest” runestone in Norway, dating back to between AD 1 and AD 250, archeologists <a href="https://www.khm.uio.no/english/news/found-the-world-s-oldest-rune-stone.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> Tuesday. The find is considered one of the earliest examples of written words in Scandinavia.
The discovery was made during the excavation of a grave near Tyrifjorden, west of Norway’s capital Olso, in the fall of 2021. Researchers kept the find a secret for all this time to “analyze and date the runestone,” according to University of Oslo Professor Kristel Zilmer. Archeologists from the Oslo Museum of Cultural History and the University of Oslo were involved in <a href="https://www.khm.uio.no/english/news/found-the-world-s-oldest-rune-stone.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">investigating</a> the site.
&#8220;We thought that the first ones in Norway and Sweden appeared in the years 300 or 400, but it turns out that some runestones could be even older than we previously believed,” Zilmer told <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/worlds-oldest-runestone-found-norway-122519801.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NTB</a>.
Runes are letters that were used by Germanic peoples and are the oldest form of writing in the region, according to the museum. They were used from the first century AD until the 1400s. Just 30 runestones found in Norway prior to this discovery were dated up to AD 550.
Archeologists also found charcoal and cremated human bones dating to AD 25-250 and a spur from between 0 to AD 500 in the cremation pit grave where the runestone was found. The radiocarbon dating of the grave, as well as the bones and charcoal, <a href="https://www.historiskmuseum.no/english/exhibitions/worlds-oldest-rune-stone/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">helped date</a> the stone&#8217;s inscriptions between AD 1 and AD 250. The museum says that cremation grave pits were a “common funerary practice from the late Bronze Age to the Roman Iron Age.”

The runes were carved into a “reddish-brown” sandstone block measuring 31 centimeters by 32 centimeters. Zilmer spent the past year researching the inscriptions on the stone, which did not all make sense linguistically, according to the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/norway-oslo-31524a0dbb0405b08fb2fba6ffafdfaa" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Associated Press</a>.
The museum says “Idibera” is carved into the stone, which could be the name of the woman who might have been buried there. Zilmer admits there are a few possible variations to the name, or that it could have been a <a href="https://apnews.com/article/norway-oslo-31524a0dbb0405b08fb2fba6ffafdfaa" target="_blank" rel="noopener">family</a> name. “The stone has several kinds of inscriptions,” Zilmer said. “Some lines form a grid pattern and there are small zigzag figures and other interesting features. Not all inscriptions have a linguistic meaning,” she added, even speculating that it could have been someone learning how to carve the letters.
Zilmer says it’s difficult to interpret the inscriptions because of the constantly changing nature of language between the Viking age, the Middle Ages, and when this runestone was created. There are many examples of runestones from the Viking age, but one this old is very rare, according to the museum.
While this runestone is believed to be the oldest ever found on stone, there have been older runes not found on stone, the AP reports. The discovery will be <a href="https://www.historiskmuseum.no/english/exhibitions/worlds-oldest-rune-stone/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">exhibited</a> from January 21 to February 26 at the Museum of Cultural History in Oslo.

Archaeologists believe they have found the shipwreck of a possible medieval vessel in the largest lake in Norway, the Norwegian Defense Research Establishment <a href="https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/archaeologists-discover-700-year-old-ship-in-norway-180981201/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">revealed</a> earlier this month.
The shipwreck is <a href="https://sciencenorway.no/archaeoloy-medieval-history-ships/shipwreck-discovered-at-the-bottom-of-norways-largest-lake-possibly-700-years-old/2110769" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dated</a> sometime between 1300 and 1850, meaning it could potentially be from the Middle Ages. It was discovered by researchers who were searching for surplus ammunition and explosives previously dumped in the lake.
“Because this is a freshwater lake, the wood in such a ship is preserved,” Norwegian University of Science and Technology marine archaeologist Øyvind Ødegård <a href="https://sciencenorway.no/archaeoloy-medieval-history-ships/shipwreck-discovered-at-the-bottom-of-norways-largest-lake-possibly-700-years-old/2110769" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> Science Norway. “The metal may rust, and the ship may lose its structure, but the wood is intact. A similar ship to the one we now found would not have survived for more than a few decades if it had gone down on the coast,” he added.
Scientists had been mapping the bottom of the lake in search for explosives and ammo that had been dumped between the 1940s and 1970s by an ammunition factory. While analyzing sonar images, they spotted what they believe to be the stern of a ship. The wood ship was located 1,350 feet deep in Lake Mjøsa, and researchers believe it is 33 feet long.
Based on the observation that the stern of the ship was distinct from the bow, archaeologists believe that it would have been built sometime after 1300. Viking ships are much more likely to be identical on both ends and would have come from before 1300, the outlet notes. Other features distinguishing this ship from a Viking one include it having a central rudder, while a Viking ship rudder or steering oar would likely be on the starboard side of the hull.
Archaeologists also observed that this ship was built by overlapping the planks, which helped make it lighter. The result, according to the outlet, is what is referred to as a “clinker-built” ship, as opposed to “carvel-built,” which have smooth joints. This method of shipbuilding was <a href="https://www.britannica.com/technology/clinker-construction" target="_blank" rel="noopener">popular</a> during medieval and ancient times.
Prior to this discovery, archaeologists state that they had expected to make interesting finds in the project. Ødegård describes the lake as a “mini ocean,” adding that he believed “the chance of finding a shipwreck was quite high, and sure enough, a ship turned up.” The lake is about 60 miles north of Oslo, Norway’s capital, and has been a busy trade route since the Viking age.
Around 20 different shipwrecks have been found in Lake Mjøsa, but all of them were discovered at depths between 20 and 30 meters. This expedition, which began weeks ago, was the first time researchers have explored past those depths. Scientists have so far been unable to further examine the wreck or capture the site with camera equipment due to poor weather and limited visibility.

The daughter of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/royal-family">King Harald</a> is fourth in line to the Norwegian throne. Princess Märtha got engaged in June to Durek Verrett, an American citizen who describes himself as a shaman and a healer. This turn of events caused an uproar among royal followers and led to the princess losing her role as patron for at least one foundation.
“I have decided that at the present time I will no longer carry out official duties for the royal household,” the 51-year-old royal family member said in a <a href="https://www.royalcourt.no/">statement</a> issued by the palace. She continued, saying the decision was made along with her parents “to create peace around the royal household.”
She will retain her title but will no longer serve as a patron to former organizations.
“I am sorry that the princess will no longer represent the royal house,” King Harald said during a press conference, adding that for this matter, “we agree to disagree.”
“We have looked at this process from all sides,” his wife, Queen Sonja, said. “This has been a unanimous decision.&#8221;
Märtha Louise also noted in the statement that she’s had an ongoing interest in “alternative methods” of treatment, which she claimed “can be an important supplement to help from the conventional medical establishment.”
She and her fiancé have conducted seminars featuring “meditations and shamanic exercises” that promise to “reveal to you your divine self activated and how you can utilize your gift to change the world,” per <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2022/11/09/europe/norway-princess-martha-royal-duties-scli-intl/index.html">CNN</a>.
Verrett also wrote a book called “Spirit Hacking.”  The 47-year-old author has worked with celebrities, including Gwyneth Paltrow, offering shamanic healing sessions and other services such as a “spirit optimizer,” which he says “can invite spiritual and energetic protections to keep you safe from external energies seeking to harm you, allowing you a safer space to heal.”
In 2002, Princess Märtha Louise gave up her “royal highness” status and allowance to seek a media career. She wed Norwegian author Ari Behn the same year, and the couple went on to have three daughters together. The royal and her husband separated in 2016, and Behn died by suicide on Christmas Day in 2019.
