“Harry Potter” author JK Rowling said that even if she had the authority to have an actor removed from the upcoming HBO television series based on her best-selling books, she would not do it over ideological differences.
“I don’t have the power to sack an actor from the series and I wouldn’t exercise it if I did,” the billionaire author <a href="https://x.com/jk_rowling/status/1919358232629297559">wrote</a> on X in response to an article about Paapa Essiedu supporting rights for people who identify as transgender. “I don’t believe in taking away people’s jobs or livelihoods because they hold legally protected beliefs that differ from mine.”

Several celebrities from “Harry Potter” projects, both past and present, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/harry-potter-stars-sign-letter-supporting-trans-rights-as-jk-rowling-celebrates-u-k-court-ruling">signed</a> an open letter declaring their belief that the historic Supreme Court of the United Kingdom ruling that the definition of a woman is determined by biological sex was wrong.
Eddie Redmayne, star of the spin-off prequel franchise “Fantastic Beasts,” signed the letter, as did Essiedu, who will portray Severus Snape in the upcoming HBO series. Katie Leung, an actress from the original films, also added her name.
“We the undersigned film and television professionals stand in solidarity with the trans, nonbinary and intersex communities who have been impacted by the Supreme Court ruling on April 16,” the open letter says.
“We believe the ruling undermines the lived reality and threatens the safety of trans, non-binary and intersex people living in the UK,” it said. “Film and television are powerful tools for empathy and education, and we believe passionately in the ability of the screen to change hearts and minds. This is our opportunity to be on the right side of history.”
On Saturday, Rowling had reacted to the open letter with another X <a href="https://x.com/jk_rowling/status/1918747065460420745">post</a>. “In light of recent open letters from academia and the arts criticising the UK’s Supreme Court ruling on sex-based rights, it’s possibly worth remembering that nobody sane believes, or has ever believed, that humans can change sex, or that binary sex isn’t a material fact,” the author wrote.
&#8220;History is littered with the debris of irrational and harmful belief systems that once seemed unassailable,&#8221; she continued in the lengthy post. &#8220;As Orwell said, &#8216;Some ideas are so stupid that only intellectuals believe them.&#8217; Gender ideology may have embedded itself deeply into our institutions, where it&#8217;s been imposed, top-down, on the supposedly unenlightened, but it is not invulnerable.&#8221;
&#8220;I wonder if they ever ask themselves how they got here, and I wonder whether any of them will ever feel shame,&#8221; she concluded.
Rowling has been an outspoken critic of radical left-wing gender theory for years. She has refused to back down even as critics came after her, and she’s lost fans because of it.

Rosie O’Donnell is sharing more thoughts on her move to Ireland following the election of President Donald Trump.
The 62-year-old actress said part of the reason for her departure was her 12-year-old daughter Clay, who identifies as “nonbinary.” O’Donnell also talked about being on her way to getting her Irish citizenship thanks to having Irish grandparents.
During a nine minute TikTok posted on Thursday, the celebrity mentioned how “proud and impressed” she is of Clay adjusting to their move. O’Donnell said, “It’s not easy to move to another country, and we really felt as a family this was the safest and best thing for us to do.”
“It looks like sadly we were correct for what’s happening in the United States is overwhelmingly depressing, unconstitutional, illegal, criminal, and so, so very sad,&#8221; she added. &#8220;Let’s hope that the world and the nation rallies against the current administration and their horrific ideas for what will make America great again. And it’s not racism. And it’s not homophobia. And it’s equality for all. That’s what we’re promised as American citizens.&#8221;
“I feel healthier, I’m sleeping better without the stress and anxiety over what was happening politically in the country,” she said of the United States.
Next, O’Donnell addressed the “feud” she’s had with Trump that dates back to her time on “The View” when he was in office the first time.
“I knew that it would really tax me emotionally to have to do that,” she said of continuing to live in the country while Trump was president. “So I’m very happy that we made the decision that we made.”
Irish Taoiseach [Prime Minister] Micheál Martin visited the White House earlier this month. A reporter asked him, &#8220;Ireland is known for very happy, fun-loving people. Why in the world would you let Rosie O’Donnell move to Ireland? I think she is going to lower your happiness.&#8221;
Before Martin could answer, President Trump chimed in saying, &#8220;That’s true, I like that question. Do you know you have Rosie O’Donnell? Do you know who she is? You’re better off not knowing.&#8221;
The comedian has previously spoken about how her youngest child is a “nonbinary, beautiful human.”
In an <a href="https://www.breitbart.com/entertainment/2024/06/25/watch-rosie-odonnell-raves-about-non-binary-10-year-old-daughter-saying-gender-is-infinite/">interview</a> with NBC Chicago last year, O’Donnell said Clay was telling her that some people in class didn’t know what their gender was. The comedian said she responded with a joke about how they should “look down” the “next time they’re in the bathtub.”
Clay allegedly replied, “Mommy, that’s their sex. That’s binary. I’m talking about their gender. And gender is infinite.”
“I am supportive of any way they want to be in this world and feel connected and happy,” O’Donnell told NBC Chicago at the time.
O&#8217;Donnell is one of several celebrities who has a child who identifies as LGBTQ. In 2023, O’Donnell said she told her daughter that you can be a girl and still “like all the boy stuff” during a conversation about gender identity, adding that she was a “tomboy” who “loved being a girl.”

On Tuesday night, the city council of Worcester, Massachusetts passed a resolution 9-2 to make the city a “sanctuary” for people who identify as transgender.
The <a href="https://www.telegram.com/story/news/local/2025/02/12/resolution-declaring-worcester-transgender-sanctuary-city/78456433007/">resolution</a> states, “The City Council of the City of Worcester hereby reiterates its commitment to transgender rights and equal protections for transgender community members and declares itself a sanctuary city and a place of safety for transgender and gender diverse people &#8230; the City of Worcester recognizes the importance of gender-affirming healthcare as a matter of health, privacy, and equality &#8230; the City of Worcester hereby maintains it should be a policy of the City of Worcester that no city resources be utilized for cooperating with or providing information to any individual or out-of-state agency or department regarding the provision of gender-affirming healthcare or gender-affirming mental healthcare performed in Worcester and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts &#8230; the City of Worcester as a sanctuary city will not cooperate with Federal and State on policies aimed to harm transgender and gender diverse people &#8230;”
Councilor-at-Large Thu Nguyen, who claims to be “non-binary,” returned after having announced a hiatus and leaving the council in mid-January, alleging “transphobia” and being “misgendered” within the council, the Telegram and Gazette <a href="https://www.telegram.com/story/news/local/worcester/2025/02/12/nguyen-returns-as-council-backs-sanctuary-for-transgender-gender-diverse/78430723007/">reported</a>.
Councilor-at-Large Donna M. Colorio, who voted against the resolution along with Councilor-at-Large Morris A. Bergman, wanted to delay the vote because she was worried the city would lose federal funding.
“While echoing Colorio’s arguments, Bergman was often interrupted by taunting from the audience, including snorting sounds, which had to be quelled by Petty’s gavel,” the Telegram and Gazette noted. “A voice from the second floor of the chamber also hurled insults in German at him.”
“Fascism is trying to bully and intimidate people to think the way you think,” Bergman stated, adding, “What new rights does this resolution give that don’t already exist? I can’t say with 100% confidence that something that doesn’t add any more protection than already exists isn’t going to cause harm to the other 200,000 people in the city of Worcester.”
Worchester is the second-largest city in New England.

President Donald Trump will reportedly issue an executive order officially recognizing gender as &#8220;male&#8221; and &#8220;female&#8221; only on his first day in office Monday.
According to The Free Press, the executive order <a href="https://www.thefp.com/p/trumps-day-one-executive-order-male-female-gender-ideology-pronouns" target="_blank" rel="noopener">will</a> be titled, “Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government.”
The order will reportedly officially define a woman as an “adult human female.”
It will also <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/01/20/us-news/trump-executive-order-to-define-sex-as-male-and-female/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reverse</a> the current policy of allowing people to change their sex on passports and personnel records. Since 2010, Americans have been able to choose male, female, or &#8220;X,&#8221; a designation that will be eliminated under the new order.
The order will also attempt to ban housing men in women&#8217;s prisons as well as taxpayer-funded medical gender transitions for prisoners. This move is likely to be challenged in court by liberal opponents. The order also aims to protect women&#8217;s privacy in migrant shelters and rape shelters.
Also, the order intends to prevent federal funds from promoting gender ideology, and federal agencies will be prevented from doing so.
The order also includes protections for Americans&#8217; First Amendment rights not to use &#8220;preferred pronouns&#8221; in the workplace and public schools.
Under the order, the attorney general will also be directed to tell agencies to ensure that federal workers are provided with Title 7, part of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits employment discrimination based on race and sex.

Trump was sworn into office around noon on Monday and is expected to sign a flurry of executive orders on a range of issues from immigration to gender ideology.
Gender ideology became a flashpoint during the election, especially as parents across the country sounded the alarm on child medical gender transitions.
Vice President Kamala Harris also attracted negative attention on the issue after the Trump campaign released wildly successful television ads highlighting her support of far-left policies, including taxpayer-funded transgender surgeries for illegal migrants and federal prisoners.

Chloe Cole, a detransitioner who is outspoken about the harms of child transgender medical interventions, reacted Monday to Elon Musk saying he &#8220;lost&#8221; his son to gender ideology.

Cole began identifying as male when she was just 12. She was put on puberty blockers and testosterone and received a double mastectomy before age 17, when she began identifying as female again and detransitioned.
&#8220;My mom and dad and I had no idea what we were really in for. And I went through this as the child, as the patient, but I can&#8217;t fathom the pain of being a parent and watching this happen to your own child,&#8221; Cole continued.
Cole offered words of encouragement to Musk, the same ones she said she has offered her dad.
&#8220;I&#8217;m sorry that this happened to you and your son, Elon. But I&#8217;ll tell you what I say to my own dad,&#8221; Cole said, her voice breaking. &#8220;And that is that you might feel a lot of guilt for signing off on this, but it was at a time where you weren&#8217;t given any other option, and you were just doing the best with what you were given, and that wasn&#8217;t very much.&#8221;
&#8220;What these doctors are doing to children and their families is evil,&#8221; she said. &#8220;It&#8217;s unconscionable. And I&#8217;m so grateful that, in spite of that pain that you&#8217;re going through, you still have chosen to speak up, and I&#8217;m so incredibly grateful for your conviction in fighting against this movement that is tearing up families like ours. During Peterson&#8217;s interview, Peterson asked Musk why he was willing to make child medical transgender interventions an issue.
&#8220;Well, it happened to one of my older boys,&#8221; Musk said. &#8220;I was told oh, Xavier might commit suicide &#8230; It&#8217;s incredibly evil, and I agree with you that the people who are promoting this should go to prison.&#8221;

Gavin Newsom signed into law legislation making his state the first in the nation to ban school districts from alerting parents of their children&#8217;s sexuality, or if they use pronouns or have adopted gender identities that conflict with those on their school records.
“This bill would prohibit school districts, county offices of education, charter schools, and the state special schools, and a member of the governing board or body of those educational entities, from enacting or enforcing any policy, rule, or administrative regulation that requires an employee or a contractor to disclose any information related to a pupil’s sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression to any other person without the pupil’s consent unless otherwise required by law.”
Assembly Bill 1955 <a href="https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id=202320240AB1955" target="_blank" rel="noopener">states</a>, “LGBTQ+ pupils have the right to express themselves freely at school without fear, punishment, or retaliation, including that teachers or administrators might &#8216;out&#8217; them without their permission. Policies that require outing pupils without their consent violate pupils’ rights to privacy and self-determination.”
California Legislative LGBTQ Caucus Chair Susan Eggman celebrated, “Today is a great day for California. The Governor’s signature on AB 1955, a first-in-the-nation policy, reaffirms California’s position as a leader and safe haven for LGBTQ+ youth everywhere.”

Sam <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sam-brinton" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Brinton</a>, the disgraced Biden administration official who was arrested for stealing women’s luggage at multiple U.S. airports, snagged a cushy plea deal last week.
The former Department of Energy employee <a href="https://freebeacon.com/biden-administration/crossdressing-luggage-snatcher-and-ex-biden-official-sam-brinton-gets-sweetheart-plea-deal/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">will serve</a> no jail time after he pled guilty to misdemeanor petty larceny, downgraded from his felony grand larceny charges that carried a sentence of up to 20 years, the Washington Free Beacon <a href="https://freebeacon.com/biden-administration/crossdressing-luggage-snatcher-and-ex-biden-official-sam-brinton-gets-sweetheart-plea-deal/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
Back in 2022, Brinton, 37, who uses they/them pronouns, was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/disgraced-non-binary-biden-official-helped-create-school-policy-to-hide-childrens-gender-changes-from-parents" target="_blank" rel="noopener">fired</a> as deputy assistant secretary for the Office of Nuclear Energy and charged with stealing a woman’s Vera Bradley suitcase from the Minneapolis airport and another woman’s suitcase from the Las Vegas airport. The suitcases and their contents had a combined value of more than $9,000, according to <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/former-biden-official-sam-brintons-mug-shot-released-bail-set-15000" target="_blank" rel="noopener">police</a> and court <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/biden-non-binary-nuclear-official-charged-stealing-womans-luggage-airport" target="_blank" rel="noopener">documents</a>.
Then, in May of last year, Brinton was <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/non-binary-ex-biden-official-sam-brinton-arrested-again-fugitive-justice" target="_blank" rel="noopener">arrested</a> a third time for stealing a Tanzanian fashion designer&#8217;s luggage with her custom designs, which he proceeded to wear himself at high-profile public events. That theft occurred at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
In all three cases, Brinton has escaped jail time.
The plea deal in the designer clothes case was quietly announced last week by prosecutors in Arlington General District Court.
Brinton is now required to undergo mental health treatment, write a letter of apology, and perform 50 hours of community service helping the elderly, per the terms of his plea deal.
The Tanzanian designer, Asya Khamsin, went public with her allegations against Brinton last year after seeing photographs in news articles of Brinton wearing her custom designer clothes.
“I saw the images. Those were my custom designs, which were lost in that bag in 2018,” she <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/police-find-female-designers-stolen-clothes-at-home-of-sam-brinton-non-binary-former-biden-official-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. “He wore my clothes, which was stolen.”
She said she had flown to Washington, D.C., for an event where her clothing was set to be on display, but when her designs went missing, she was not able to show them.
At one point, the fashion magazine Vanity Fair <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/vanity-fair-published-fashion-feature-on-sam-brinton-showcased-allegedly-stolen-dress?utm_campaign=news&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_content=na_feed_dailywire&amp;cid=news&amp;mid=&amp;xid=0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">published</a> an article praising Brinton&#8217;s style, including some of Khamsin&#8217;s designs he was wearing.
Khamsin also sued Brinton and reached a settlement this week. In it, Brinton agreed to pay her an unknown amount of money and wrote her an apology letter.
&#8220;Mr. Brinton has apologized to Asya Khamsin, and Asya Khamsin has forgiven Mr. Brinton,&#8221; Khamsin&#8217;s attorney said. &#8220;Asya Khamsin has decided not to publish Mr. Brinton’s letter of apology, as she considers the letter to be quite personal, sensitive, sincere, and heartfelt.&#8221;
A follow-up hearing scheduled for June of next year will examine Brinton&#8217;s progress.
Brinton initially attracted attention for being one of the federal government’s first “non-binary” officials.
Before his stint in the Biden administration, Brinton <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/sam-brinton-helped-craft-model-school-policy-keeping-parents-dark-kids-gender-change?intcmp=tw_fnc" target="_blank" rel="noopener">worked</a> for The Trevor Project, where he <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/disgraced-non-binary-biden-official-helped-create-school-policy-to-hide-childrens-gender-changes-from-parents" target="_blank" rel="noopener">helped</a> create a model school district <a href="https://www.thetrevorproject.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Model_School_Policy_Booklet.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">policy</a> that says schools should hide suicidal students’ sexual orientation and gender identity from their parents unless the student wants their parents to know. Several states have adopted this policy.

Scholastic is encouraging teachers to &#8220;disrupt the status quo&#8221; by exposing children to LGBT books this Pride Month, telling them they &#8220;absolutely know queer children.&#8221;
The children&#8217;s book publishing company recently released its 2024 <a href="https://www.scholastic.com/content/dam/scholastic/educators/discussion-guides/read-with-pride-disc-guide.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">guide</a> for Scholastic&#8217;s <a href="https://www.scholastic.com/site/read-with-pride.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">annual</a> &#8220;Read With Pride&#8221; initiative, which includes LGBT children&#8217;s book recommendations.
The guide assures teachers, caregivers, and &#8220;advocates&#8221; that &#8220;whether or not they are out to themselves or you, you absolutely know queer children and interact with them in your classrooms, libraries, and communities.&#8221;
&#8220;Books and literature are never neutral; by engaging with queer literature for children and young adults, you are disrupting the status quo that implies being cisgender, heterosexual, and allosexual are the default. You are showing children an expanded way of thinking and being that validates all children and all people,&#8221; the guide states.
Scholastic recommends LGBT books for children as young as preschool age.
For &#8220;the youngest reader,&#8221; Scholastic recommends several books, including &#8220;My Moms Love Me&#8221; about a lesbian couple with a baby, and &#8220;You Are Loved,&#8221; a book in which &#8220;readers will meet families with two moms and two dads,&#8221; <a href="https://www.scholastic.com/site/read-with-pride/books.html#loved" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to the description.
Scholastic recommends dozens of books for older children ages eight to 12, including three by the same author, Alex Gino. &#8220;Melissa&#8221; is about a trans-identifying boy, and the other two books are about non-binary characters.
&#8220;When people look at Melissa, they think they see a boy named George. But she knows she&#8217;s not a boy. She knows she&#8217;s a girl,&#8221; reads the book&#8217;s description.
Another recommended book for ages eight to 12 is &#8220;Moonflower&#8221; by Kacen Callender. It is about a depressed non-binary 12-year-old who is &#8220;afraid that their mom hates them&#8221; and travels to a &#8220;spirit realm.&#8221;
The guide includes dozens of books aimed at young teens 14 and up, including &#8220;The Feeling of Falling in Love&#8221; by Mason Deaver, which introduces children to the idea of a &#8220;friend with benefits.&#8221;
The guide also lists resources for &#8220;supporting&#8221; LGBT youth and books, including The Trevor Project, a nonprofit that says it works to prevent LGBT youth suicides. The Trevor Project previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/disgraced-non-binary-biden-official-helped-create-school-policy-to-hide-childrens-gender-changes-from-parents" target="_blank" rel="noopener">helped</a> devise a model school policy that says schools should hide suicidal students’ sexual orientation and gender identity from their parents unless the student gives permission.

Several recent studies have <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10101898/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">suggested</a> that social transition does not necessarily improve children&#8217;s and teens&#8217; mental health.
&#8220;As a teacher, librarian, educator, or caregiver, how you interact with all children and teens around queerness matters,&#8221; Scholastic&#8217;s guide states. &#8220;What literature you provide them with, and how you talk about both literature and identity, can have an immense, life-changing impact on the young people in your life.&#8221;
&#8220;Everyone benefits from books with authentic representation of queer identities,&#8221; the guide adds.

The new <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/disney">Disney+</a> Star Wars animated series “Tales of the Empire” just introduced a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/nonbinary">nonbinary</a> character.
Libs of TikTok shared the clip in question on X. “New <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/star-wars">Star Wars</a> show on Disney+ &#8216;Tales of the Empire&#8217; features a non-binary character that uses they/them pronouns,” the caption says. “Parents, make sure you know what your kids are watching! They&#8217;re after your kids.”

The clip is from episode five of the series, which includes six shorts. It introduces a character about to surrender to an Inquisitor (a character who hunts Jedi) before another Inquisitor, The Fourth Sister, strikes the Jedi down with a lightsaber.
“They’re still alive,” the Inquisitor says while checking the character’s heartbeat. “We need to get them to the ship. We can save them.”
The Fourth Sister replies, “Forget it. Let them die. It’s not worth the trouble.”
“They were about to surrender,” the Inquisitor argues.
The “Star Wars” franchise has dabbled in radical left-wing gender theory before. Director J.J. Abrams <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/rise-of-skywalker-will-feature-first-lesbian-kiss-in-star-wars-history">bragged</a> in 2019 that the film “Rise of Skywalker” would include a kiss between two women.
“In the case of the LGBTQ community, it was important to me that people who go to see this movie feel that they’re being represented in the film,” Abrams told Variety at the time. “I will say I’m giving away nothing about what happens in the movie. But I did just say what I just said.”

Disney also added two “trans and non-binary” Jedi Knights on the cover for Marvel’s “Star Wars: The High Republic” comic series in 2021.

A <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/disney-world">Walt Disney World Resort</a> guest was reportedly disappointed with &#8220;Story Book Dining&#8221; at Wilderness Lodge in Orlando, Florida. Upon encountering a character portraying the Evil Queen from “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” He believes the employee was a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lgbtq">biological male</a>. 
The unnamed Disney guest reached out to the fan blog <a href="https://thatparkplace.com/exclusive-walt-disney-world-cast-members-express-support-but-concern-over-the-evil-queen-situation/">That Park Place</a> to voice his concerns, discussing how he and his family had been looking forward to meeting the Evil Queen during their visit. 
He said his kids posed for photos with the Evil Queen who “without a doubt had a man’s voice.”
“I told my waiter that I had a problem with something. He then asked what was the issue and I simply stated I have a problem with Evil Queen being a man dressed in drag. The waiter immediately said he was going to get a manager and he looked panicked,” the guest reportedly told the blog.
“At first I said I wanted to formally complain about the Evil Queen being a man and that I felt very disrespected by Disney because this is not the sort of thing my family values and they didn’t give us any type of notice that this sort of thing was even a possibility,” he continued. 
“I stated we are a conservative Christian family, I’m spending $8,000 on this current trip in addition to the tens of thousands I’ve spent together in the past at Walt Disney World and Disney Cruises, and that this is not right,” the guest continued.

“For the most part the manager just listened and never once apologized for anything. At one point the manager stated ‘I can assure you that she is a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/transgender">woman</a>.’ She went even further, trying to shame me, informing me that ‘she’ was so excited to get the part as the Evil Queen. For a brief moment I thought ‘oh… maybe I’m wrong’ but then I realized that I was just being gaslighted,&#8221; he said.
&#8220;I politely told the manager that ‘I know what you are doing and that I do not appreciate the fact that you are trying to be funny and disingenuous.’ So since the manager doubled down I also doubled down and asked, ‘Is the Evil Queen a biological male?’ The manager’s reply was, ‘I’m sorry sir, I cannot answer that.’”
A <a href="https://twitter.com/wdwpro1/status/1782611140503056676">clip</a> of an employee portraying the Evil Queen was posted on X and has 5.5 million views. It was an excerpt of a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VeG5JU_UpyU">YouTube video</a> posted in January from an account reviewing a Story Book Dining experience at Artist Point located inside Disney&#8217;s Wilderness Lodge in Orlando.
The person behind That Park Place reportedly spoke with several anonymous cast members who work with the individual in question. 
“The only thing I personally feel safe saying as a statement is that Inclusion is a Key for a reason,” the anonymous source said, citing one of Disney World’s new policies. “It’s the newest Key the company has introduced. Inclusion means Everyone Belongs. Guests and Cast Members alike. No matter who you are, no matter how you identify, if you’re cisgendered, trans or non-binary, you can be a performer. Especially a look-alike one.”

Disneyland made headlines last year when photos and videos showed male cast members in dresses greeting guests at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/disturbing-man-in-a-dress-welcoming-children-to-disneyland-princess-boutique-sparks-outrage-on-twitter">reported</a>. 
These changes have been seen ever since Disney parks updated its uniform policy in 2021 to allow employees, or as they’re referred to in the park, “cast members,” to wear gendered clothing of their preference regardless of their biological sex.
Reps from Walt Disney World did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Walt Disney World Resort Guest Voices Concern About Suspected Male Portraying Evil Queen: Report

A medical examiner has determined that the death of Oklahoma “nonbinary” teenager Nex Benedict, which became a national news story based on media suggestions that the teen died from a beating by bullies, actually died from an intentional drug overdose.
In a statement, the Owasso Police Department said it waited to release the cause of death until the toxicology report was completed, KJRH <a href="https://www.kjrh.com/news/local-news/me-report-reveals-nex-benedicts-cause-of-death" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. That toxicology report indicates that Benedict died by suicide, the result of an overdose of Diphenhydramine and Fluoxetine, or, Benadryl and Prozac.
&#8220;From the beginning of this investigation, Owasso Police observed many indications that this death was the result of suicide,&#8221; the police statement said. &#8220;However, investigators did not wish to confirm that information without the final results being presented by the Oklahoma Medical Examiners Office.&#8221;
The original narrative surrounding Benedict’s death was that the teen died as a result of a beating from three girls who had been bullying Benedict and Benedict’s friends. Teen Vogue <a href="https://www.teenvogue.com/story/nex-benedict-everything-we-know-about-16-year-old-oklahoma-students-death" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> when the story broke that “a source who claimed to be the mother of Benedict’s best friend told a local outlet the cause of death was ‘complications from brain trauma,’ and that ‘three older girls were beating the victim and her daughter in the girl’s bathroom.’”
This same anonymous source told the outlet that Benedict needed help walking to the nurses’ station after the fight and that Benedict texted a family member saying the teen “got jumped at school 3 on 1 had to go to the ER.” Benedict also claimed the girls “had been bullying me and my friends and I got tired of it so I poured some water on them and all 3 came after me. School did not report to the police and is probably getting sued.”
Other media outlets followed that general narrative, while also blaming Oklahoma law that requires students to use the bathroom that corresponds to their biological sex.
The narrative of the tragedy was revealed to be completely different than what certain media outlets reported. Benedict told a police officer while in the hospital with no visible injuries that the three girls didn’t actually start the fight, <a href="https://www.oklahoman.com/story/news/2024/02/23/oklahoma-teen-dies-nex-benedict-owasso-police-bodycam-footage-of-interview/72719139007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to The Oklahoman</a>.
&#8220;They said something like &#8216;why do they laugh like that,&#8217; and they were talking about us, in front of us,&#8221; Benedict told police officer Caleb Thompson, referring to the other girls involved in the fight. &#8220;So, I went up and poured water on them and all three of them came at me.&#8221;
Benedict’s mother told the officer that the three girls had bullied Benedict and the teen&#8217;s friends previously, even claiming the girls had thrown things at them. But the actual encounter that took place the day before Benedict died involved Benedict instigating the fight. Throughout the interview, Benedict’s mother refers to Benedict using female pronouns.
Thompson also informed Nex that because of this, Benedict could face assault charges.
&#8220;You got freedom of speech,&#8221; Thompson told Benedict and Benedict’s mother, referring to the other teen girls. &#8220;The minute you threw water on them you made the first jab. It may not go the direction you want it to go.&#8221;
&#8220;Running the mouth is freedom of speech, unfortunately,&#8221; the officer adds. &#8220;You can say mean, hurtful things all day long and you gotta let it roll off your shoulder.&#8221;
Benedict returned home from the hospital but the next day, Benedict’s mother called 911 to report the teen’s breathing was shallow. Benedict died shortly after – due to an overdose, not any physical trauma.
Oklahoma Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/oklahoma-schools-chief-says-radical-leftists-exploiting-death-of-nonbinary-student" target="_blank" rel="noopener">previously called out</a> the media&#8217;s portrayal of Benedict&#8217;s tragic death.
“I think it’s terrible that we’ve had some radical leftists who decided to run with a political agenda and try to weave a narrative that hasn’t been true,” Walters <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/02/23/us/oklahoma-nonbinary-student-superintendent.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> The New York Times in February. “You’ve taken a tragedy, and you’ve had some folks try to exploit it for political gain.”
“We’ve been told death wasn’t directly related to the fight at school,” he added.
The same New York Times article, several paragraphs above the claims by Walters, suggests that her death was related to the fight the day before, referring to &#8220;the death earlier this month of a 16-year-old nonbinary student a day after an altercation in a high school girls’ bathroom.&#8221;
