Former President Donald Trump’s record and stated policies make him “clearly the better choice” this election, according to former UN ambassador Nikki Haley.
Haley made her closing pitch for Trump over Vice President Kamala Harris in an <a href="https://www.wsj.com/opinion/trump-isnt-perfect-but-hes-the-better-choice-says-nikki-haley-presidential-election-b343f6ab" target="_blank" rel="noopener">op-ed</a> in The Wall Street Journal published on Sunday. Haley unsuccessfully challenged Trump for the Republican nomination this cycle and was a vocal critic of him on the Right, but described her endorsement of Trump an “easy call.”
“I don’t agree with Mr. Trump 100% of the time. But I do agree with him most of the time, and I disagree with Ms. Harris nearly all the time,” she wrote.
Voters need to consider their welfare under Trump versus four years of the Biden-Harris administration, according to Haley.
She mentioned the cost of living, the national debt, and national security, pointing out that each issue fared worse under the Biden-Harris administration than under Trump.

A second Trump term “wouldn’t be perfect,” Haley conceded, “[b]ut I agree with Mr. Trump that we need to keep taxes low and cut them more. I agree that we need to roll back trillions of dollars in special-interest handouts. I agree that we need to expand American energy to empower our families and job creators while making us less dependent on foreign energy.”
Haley said that the question that voters should think about is not whether they agree with Trump on every issue.
“No politician gets everything right,” she said. “For those of us clear-eyed enough to see Mr. Trump’s flaws and honest enough to acknowledge them, the question is whether we’re better off with his policies or his opponent’s. On taxes, spending, inflation, immigration, energy and national security, the candidates are miles apart. And Mr. Trump is clearly the better choice.”
Haley endorsed Trump in a speech at the Republican National Convention in July, smoothing over the rift that had developed between the two during a bruising Republican primary. Haley previously served in Trump’s administration as the ambassador to the United Nations but fell out with the former president, criticizing him over his actions on January 6, 2021.

Cuban, in an effort to portray former President Donald Trump as weak and insecure, instead managed to insult all the women who had ever worked closely with or appeared alongside Trump when he claimed that the former president never surrounded himself with &#8220;strong, intelligent women.&#8221;

Imagine paying 10% on your income. As a member of Congress, he voted against the 2017 tax cuts. Remember we talked that if those tax cuts expire, 62% of Americans are going to see their taxes go up.&#8221;
&#8220;On illegal immigration, not only has he allowed illegal immigrants to come into his state, he has allowed them to have driver&#8217;s licenses,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;He&#8217;s allowed them to have health insurance. He&#8217;s allowed them to get free college, all on the taxpayer&#8217;s dime.&#8221;
&#8220;He&#8217;s subsidized electric vehicles,&#8221; she added. &#8220;He has no statutory limits on abortion at any stage of pregnancy. We know regardless of what side of that debate you&#8217;re on, abortion up until the time of birth is something that most Americans can&#8217;t stomach. She said the thing that freaked her out the most about Walz was when he said: &#8220;One person&#8217;s socialism is another person&#8217;s neighborliness.&#8221;
&#8220;That is the one that sends the chill up your spine,&#8221; Haley said. &#8220;Minnesota&#8217;s losing residents at a record pace, ranked sixth highest in America for a families moving out. You look at the George Floyd riots; we all saw the buildings burning. What is interesting is the mayor of Minneapolis called Walz and Walz declined his request to call in the National Guard.&#8221;
She later added that Vice President Kamala Harris&#8217; decision to pick Walz was a damning indictment of her.
&#8220;We are seeing a Kamala Harris that is basically saying, &#8216;Fake it until you make it,'&#8221; she said. &#8220;And so she&#8217;s faking all her stances and doing 180s on all of them until the election. But the one decision she made was Tim Walz.&#8221;

After challenging former President Donald Trump for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination, Haley <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v723pOifNks">endorsed him</a> at the Republican National Convention in July. She made an attempt to bring Americans who had disagreements with Trump to vote for him, stating:

Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley revealed over the weekend that the FBI held a meeting with her during the Republican Party presidential primary to warn her that the Islamic Republic of Iran was interfering in the election to damage her campaign.
Haley made the remarks during a Sunday interview with CBS News&#8217; Margaret Brennan on &#8220;Face The Nation&#8221; while discussing foreign influence operations targeting U.S. elections.
&#8220;Look at what happened in [New York Governor Kathy] Hochul&#8217;s office with the Chinese influence and what was happening there,&#8221; Haley said. &#8220;Look at the murder-for-hire plot on U.S. soil, which I was named in, by Iran.&#8221;
&#8220;This has been going on for years. Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea, to some extent, they have spent years on the cheapest form of warfare is, which is, how do you divide Americans and cause chaos,&#8221; she said. &#8220;They have done that. When I was running my presidential campaign, the FBI had a separate hearing with me to let me know that Iran was meddling in our – influencing the election through with our campaign.&#8221;

Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley said during an interview that aired over the weekend that if communist China invades Taiwan the impact on the global economy will be ten times larger than the impact from Russia&#8217;s invasion of Ukraine.
Haley made the remarks during an interview on CBS News&#8217; &#8220;Face The Nation&#8221; with Margaret Brennan while talking about the threat China poses to the world.
She discussed a recent trip she took to Taiwan where she learned about how they are preparing militarily for a potential war with China, including by reducing investment in China, extending the length of required military service for 18-year-olds, and training with the U.S.
&#8220;When it comes to our allies, when it comes to freedom-loving countries, we need to be the best friend to them that we can, because, if China takes Taiwan, what we saw with Russia and Ukraine, it affected 1 percent of GDP, and you saw the economy shake from that,&#8221; she <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/face-the-nation-full-transcript-09-08-2024/">said</a>. &#8220;If China takes Taiwan, it would be 10 percent of the global GDP. That&#8217;s $10 trillion, compared to the $1 trillion in Ukraine. We need to care about that. We need to care about it from freedom. We need to care about it from the economy. She said that Americans should not assume that everything will be &#8220;OK&#8221; if the U.S. goes into isolationist mode and ignores Russian and Chinese aggression.

The second day of the Republican National Convention (RNC) kicked off under the theme “Make America Safe Once Again,” but the more poignant message appeared to be Republican unity amid Democratic disarray.
Tuesday featured speeches from a number of former President Donald Trump’s vanquished GOP competitors, such as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy. Sens. Marco Rubio of Florida and Ted Cruz of Texas – both of whom Trump beat for the nomination in 2016 – also addressed the convention.
Haley, who was Trump’s last biggest competitor in the 2024 primary, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/nikki-haley-gives-trump-strong-endorsement-in-call-for-unity-at-rnc?topStoryPosition=3" target="_blank" rel="noopener">delivered</a> her “strong endorsement” of Trump during her RNC address. Under the theme of making America safe again, the lineup included personal stories from Americans impacted directly by violent crime and drug addiction. Madeline Brame, a New York resident, lost her son when he was fatally stabbed in Harlem in 2018. Brame blasted soft-on-crime policies by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who opted to use resources to prosecute Trump.
“My son – Sgt. Hason Correa, an Afghanistan War retired veteran – he received enemy fire from the Taliban only to be murdered with a knife on the streets of New York City,” Brame said. “The four assailants responsible for his death initially were facing justice, but that changed when District Attorney Alvin Bragg was elected.”

Anne Fundner took the stage and spoke of her first-born son who died from fentanyl-laced pills. Fundner placed the blame for her son’s death on Biden’s border policies and the drug trade that has crossed over the United States’ southern border. Her son, Weston, died in a moment of “peer pressure,” Fundner said.

Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley gave her “strong endorsement” to former President Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on Tuesday evening.
Haley was a last-minute addition to the RNC’s lineup, with the announcement that she would attend coming a day after Trump narrowly survived an assassination attempt at a Saturday campaign rally in western Pennsylvania. Last week, Haley, who was Trump’s last major Republican opponent in the 2024 presidential race, directed her delegates to support Trump and called for unity.
“President Trump asked me to speak to this convention in the name of unity. It was a gracious invitation and I was happy to accept. I’ll start by making one thing perfectly clear: Donald Trump has my strong endorsement, period,” Haley said upon taking the stage.

Haley’s endorsement received thunderous applause at the convention, with the crowd chanting Trump’s name in response. Haley then directed her message at those voters skeptical of Trump, a contingent she was seen to represent late in the Republican primary.
“My message to them is simple. You don’t have to agree with Trump 100% of the time to vote for him,” Haley said. “I haven’t always agreed with President Trump, but we agree more often than we disagree.” 
“We agree on keeping America strong. We agree on keeping America safe. And we agree that Democrats have moved so far to the Left that they’re putting our freedoms in danger,” she continued. “We have a country to save, and a unified Republican Party is essential for saving her.”
Haley’s endorsement came alongside a speech by another major primary opponent of Trump: Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. The speeches by Trump’s former opponents rallying around the former president for a second term in the White House contrasts starkly with the divisions that have exploded among Democrats in recent weeks.
President Joe Biden’s campaign struck back at Haley’s endorsement, citing harsh criticisms that Haley had leveled against Trump in the past.
“Ambassador Haley said it best herself: someone who doesn’t respect our military, doesn’t know right from wrong, and ‘surrounds himself in chaos’ can’t be president,” the Biden campaign said in a <a href="https://x.com/BidenHQ/status/1813395217044721996" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a> before making an appeal to the voters Haley addressed in her RNC speech.

Former 2024 Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley blasted ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos on Tuesday after a clip from last August resurfaced on social media showing Stephanopoulos being critical of Haley&#8217;s prediction that Biden would have to step down.
The ABC News host is set to sit down with Biden this week in the president&#8217;s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-to-sit-for-interview-with-former-clinton-flack-after-poor-debate" target="_blank" rel="noopener">first interview</a> since his disastrous debate performance last week. Last summer, Stephanopoulos pressed Haley to show &#8220;evidence&#8221; that Biden would not be able to finish his first term and that Vice President Kamala Harris would assume the role of commander-in-chief.
&#8220;There&#8217;s no way Joe Biden is going to finish his term. I think Kamala Harris is going to be the next president, and that should send a chill up every American&#8217;s spine,&#8221; Haley told Stephanopoulos last August before the ABC News anchor cut her off.
&#8220;Excuse me. Excuse me one second about that. How do you know Joe Biden is not going to finish his term? What is that based on?&#8221; asked Stephanopoulos, the former White House communications director for President Bill Clinton.
&#8220;Do you think that he&#8217;s actually going to finish what he started?&#8221; Haley, the former South Carolina governor and U.S. ambassador to the U.N., replied. &#8220;We look at the decline he&#8217;s had over the last few years. You have to be honest with the American people, George.&#8221;
Stephanopoulos continued to push Haley to provide &#8220;evidence&#8221; that Biden wouldn&#8217;t finish his first term. The legacy media has been criticized for downplaying Biden&#8217;s apparent mental and physical struggles while in office, especially after his debate against former President Donald Trump last week caused panic among many Left-leaning political commentators.
During the debate, the 81-year-old president struggled numerous times to reply coherently to the moderators, CNN anchors Jake Tapper and Dana Bash. Biden <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-admits-he-almost-fell-asleep-during-trump-debate?itm_source=parsely-api" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reportedly</a> admitted at a private fundraiser that he almost fell asleep while debating Trump.

Biden reportedly discussed the future of his re-election campaign with his family over the weekend, and his family members urged him to stay in the race.
“[The Biden family] will not let those 90 minutes define the four years he’s been president,” first lady Jill Biden <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jill-biden-reacts-to-husbands-poor-debate-performance-says-she-wont-let-those-90-minutes-define-presidency" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> Vogue following the debate.

SDEROT, ISRAEL — Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley called for Gazan Palestinians to &#8220;separate themselves&#8221; from the terror organization that governs them in an interview with The Daily Wire after touring several sites where Hamas massacred civilians on October 7. 
&#8220;It&#8217;s not that we don&#8217;t want good for the Palestinians, but the Palestinians have to separate themselves from Hamas because they&#8217;ve been indoctrinated themselves,&#8221; Haley said. &#8220;What we&#8217;ve seen is an entire generation that thinks their job is to murder the Jewish people and we can&#8217;t let that happen.&#8221;
&#8220;It wasn&#8217;t just Hamas that did this,&#8221; Haley said while standing at the site of the former Sderot police station, which was destroyed after being taken over by terrorists. &#8220;Thousands of Palestinian citizens came in and participated in the robbing and murdering of these people.&#8221;
There have been reports that Palestinian civilians, <a href="https://freebeacon.com/national-security/children-as-young-as-10-took-part-in-hamass-oct-7-terror-attack-survivors-say/">children</a>, and <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2024/01/29/israel-un-gaza-hamas-oct-7/">U.N. employees</a> took part in the attack after Hamas breached the Israel-Gaza fence. Haley’s comments came just after she finished touring Kibbutz Nir Oz where 25% of the 380 residents were either taken hostage or murdered, the site of the Nova massacre, a military base near the Gaza border where female soldiers were taken hostage and killed. Her former counterpart in the U.N. who is now a member of Knesset, Danny Danon, accompanied her on her tour.

Haley also called for American universities to stop accepting &#8220;Arab money.&#8221;
“We should not be taking Arab money into any of our universities, we should not be taking any foreign money into our universities,” Haley said, while standing at the site of the former Sderot police station, which was destroyed after being taken over by Hamas terrorists.
Haley criticized colleges and called for revocation of tax-exempt status at academic institutions where antisemitic threats against Jewish students are not successfully being addressed.
“You can look at what&#8217;s happening on American campuses: those kids are not safe,” Haley said. “That is not a situation I want my kids in. I wouldn’t want anybody&#8217;s kids in and those colleges owe it to the kids there and to the future students. 
“One thing is free speech, but threats and intimidation, that&#8217;s very different,” she added.
U.S. colleges and universities receive about $55 billion from foreign sources, with one-fourth ($13.1 billion) coming from Arab individuals, institutions, and governments, according to a May 2024 study by the <a href="https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/arab-funding-of-american-universities-donors-recipients-and-impact-may-2024">American-Israeli Cooperative Enterprise</a>. The biggest foreign donor to U.S. universities is <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/report-examines-how-hamas-harboring-qatar-influences-universities-american-institutions">Qatar</a>, a country with close-ties to Iran and the home to Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh. 
Billionaire hedge fund manager <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hedge-fund-manager-bill-ackman-pushes-to-ban-allowing-foreign-contributions-to-u-s-schools">Bill Ackman pointed out</a> that foreign governments are not allowed to own radio and TV stations, yet fund our universities.

Haley said she is in disbelief by rhetoric coming from college students and activists that denies or downplays the severity of Hamas’ attack on Israeli civilians.
“You can&#8217;t pretend this didn&#8217;t happen,” Haley said. “Everywhere you go, someone knows someone who was murdered. Everywhere you go, you see where cars were burned, where people were brutalized, police officers here in this town were killed.”
Haley said Americans should sympathize by reflecting on how they felt after September 11, 2001.
“We were in shock, then we went through great sadness and then we went through anger of making sure it never happened again,” Haley said. “Just imagine if we had gone through all of that and then people told us it didn&#8217;t happen [or] it was America&#8217;s fault.”
“It&#8217;s like stabbing someone in the back after they&#8217;ve already been shot,” she added. “We need to be with them. We need to stand with them. We need to believe them.”

Haley said her time touring the Nova site with survivor Tali Biner made her think of her own daughter who is also a nurse in her 20s.
“We talked to a survivor, who talked about what she heard, what she saw, how she hid, how so many people hid under dead bodies,” Haley said. “The fact that she heard so many women mutilated and raped and even men. I mean, it&#8217;s so much that happened.”
“That wasn&#8217;t easy for her to tell me her story of what she heard, what she saw and what she experienced,” Haley added. “She&#8217;s doing that because nobody believes her. It&#8217;s a horrible thing to do to a victim, and it&#8217;s victimizing them all over again.”
Haley also visited the post with a photo of Hersh Goldberg-Polin, one of eight hostages held captive in Gaza.

Last week former president Donald Trump said Haley would  “absolutely” be on his “team in some form” going forward after she pledged to vote for him. In a press conference after her tour, Haley said she doesn’t take the intense rhetoric used by the campaigns personally. 
“I’ve always been able to take the emotion and the personal part out of politics because that is the only way you can do the right thing,” Haley said. “This is about America. It’s about a strong America, it’s about a strong Israel. It’s about having the backs of our friends.”

Ambassador <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/nikki-haley" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nikki Haley</a> gave her most extensive remarks on her relationship with former President Donald Trump on Monday in Israel, just days after her Republican primary campaign rival predicted that Haley would &#8220;absolutely&#8221; be on his &#8220;team in some form&#8221; going forward.
Trump&#8217;s comments came just a day after Haley pledged to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/nikki-haley-says-shell-vote-for-trump-has-not-been-perfect-but-biden-has-been-a-catastrophe">vote for him</a> in November, despite the intense rhetoric used by the campaigns before she ended her presidential bid in March. Asked about how she could work with Trump going forward, Haley said you can&#8217;t take campaign fights &#8220;personal&#8221; and that what&#8217;s most important is working together for the country.

Haley explained that voting to reelect President Joe Biden isn&#8217;t an option when comparing his policies to those of Trump.
“This is all about policy, and when you look at the policies of the two, I am very much on one side. It’s not even close,” she added. “We sparred in a campaign. If I thought either one of them were great, I wouldn’t have run. I ran because I thought I could do a better job, but at the end of the day, it is what it is.”
Haley’s comments came at a press conference in Sderot after she finished a tour of places in Israel attacked by Hamas on October 7. Her tour included Kibbutz Nir Oz, the site of the Nova massacre, a military base by the Gaza border, and the site of the now-destroyed police station in Sderot.
Haley positively reflected on her time in the Trump administration as the UN Ambassador, chalking it up to having the freedom to make decisions in the role.

“The goal was to make sure we knew who our friends were and who our enemies were, and I think the reason that he and I worked well together during that time was because he let me do my job, which was to call out our enemies, but we never forgot our friends, which is why we stood with Israel,” Haley said.
“All you have to do is look at the fact that he moved the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and acknowledged the truth, he allowed me to defund UNRWA,” she added.
Trump said last week that Haley was a &#8220;very capable person.&#8221;
“We had a nasty campaign,” Trump said in the interview with <a href="https://bronx.news12.com/trump-floats-possible-vp-picks-in-news-12-interview">News 12 New York</a>. “But she’s a very capable person, and I’m sure she’s going to be on our team in some form, absolutely.” He added that the two “have a lot of the same ideas, the same thoughts.”
When Haley was asked Monday if she would accept being Trump’s running mate, Haley said Trump has “made it very clear&#8221; that she&#8217;s not in the running for that position. &#8220;I don’t think about things that are not reality,&#8221; Haley said.

Haley&#8217;s remarks during her visit to Israel largely steered clear of the presidential election. “The last thing I want to do is come to Israel and talk about American politics,” Haley said. “What I do want to do is come to Israel and make sure that the American people see what I see, hear what I hear.”
She criticized both Republicans and Democrats for failing to make a strong case for supporting Israel to the American people.
“The one flaw that I will say of Republicans and Democrats in America is they’re not telling Americans why they should care about Israel. They’re not telling Americans why they should care about Ukraine,” she said. “They’re just making the decision and allowing Americans to hear it in sound bites. Americans are smart. When you give them the information, when you tell them why they need to care, they do.”
Haley announced she was going to vote for Trump during a Hudson Institute event last Wednesday when asked which candidate would be the best for national security.

Former U.N. Ambassador <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/nikki-haley" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nikki Haley</a> said on Wednesday that she will be voting for former President Donald Trump this fall over President Joe Biden.
Haley made the remarks during a question and answer session at the Hudson Institute in Washington, D.C., when asked who she thought would do better on national security.

Haley stopped short of giving Trump a full-throated endorsement, something that she had pledged to do when she was competing in the Republican Party primary earlier this year. Many of the other competitors, including Trump&#8217;s top challenger, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, did give Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/desantis-suspends-2024-presidential-campaign-endorses-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">clear endorsements</a>.
