The outgoing host, who recently <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/anti-trump-late-night-host-stephen-colbert-reveals-date-of-final-show">revealed</a> his last episode will air on May 21, does have a habit of making offensive statements when it comes to conservatives; in November 2022, he <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/wash-your-klan-robes-with-your-maga-hat-stephen-colbert-mocks-republicans-after-election-results">mocked</a> Republicans as &#8220;fascists&#8221; and Ku Klux Klan members a day after predictions of a red wave <a href="http://dailywire.com/news/republican-red-wave-stops-at-florida-as-initial-midterm-tallies-leave-house-senate-majorities-in-question/">failed to materialize</a> in the midterm elections.
Colbert, who in May 2022 <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2022/may/18/stephen-colbert-future-republicans-primaries">said</a> the GOP was “choosing its direction for 2022: original recipe nutballs or extra crispy cuckoo cojones,” was giddy when Democrats performed better than expected. “As a performer, there are three things you don’t want to follow: animals, children, or a fascist takeover of your country,” Colbert taunted. “These results is (sic) a crisp nut-punch to Republican optimism leading up to this election.”
Colbert continued, citing headlines he&#8217;d apparently seen on the internet.
“&#8217;The vaunted red wave never hit the shore in mid-term elections,’&#8221; he said. &#8220;‘That’s not a red wave,’ and ‘The red wave was more like a pink splash.’”
“Yes, a pink splash,” Colbert said. “It was a salmon drizzle, a rosy wash. It&#8217;s like what happens when you accidentally wash your Klan robes with your MAGA hat. It&#8217;s just a little pink wash.”
Colbert has demonstrated his contempt for conservatives many times in the past. In March 2022, in the face of soaring gas prices devastating American consumers, Colbert <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/stephen-colberts-elitism-on-soaring-gas-prices-hell-ill-pay-15-a-gallon-because-i-drive-a-tesla/">mocked</a> struggling average Joes and said it was part of the price of backing Ukraine in its war with Russia.
&#8220;Today, the average gas price in America hit an all-time record high of over $4 a gallon,&#8221; he said. &#8220;OK, that stings, but a clean conscience is worth a buck or two. It’s important. I’m willing to pay $4/gallon. Hell, I’ll pay $15 a gallon because I drive a Tesla.”
Back in May 2019, the cold open for his show opened by mocking farmers, intimating that if their finances were hurt by President Trump’s tariffs targeting China, they would lose their wives to convicts, start stripping for a living, become alcoholics, and turn to growing marijuana.
The show began by playing a clip from a CNN report that claimed President Trump’s “trade war [is] having a major impact on American farmers after talks with China have halted. Some farmers seem to be losing hope.” That was followed by a clip of a farmer who said he had voted for Trump in 2016 but would not do so again.
The show then aired a cartoon titled “The Farmer in the Dell,” based on the famous children’s song, but this time with new lyrics, accompanied by the visuals in the cartoon:

A  bookstore owner from Minneapolis who has joined an “economic blackout” to protest against Immigration and Customs Enforcement likened ICE to Nazi death camps, saying, “I&#8217;m not saying they&#8217;re putting people in ovens — yet.”
On CNN’s “The Lead,” host Jake Tapper noted, “Hundreds of businesses statewide have closed in solidarity, joining in a so-called economic blackout. One of those businesses participating is an independent bookstore in Minneapolis called Moon Palace Books and the co-owner, Jamie Schwesnedl, joins me now. Jamie, why was it important for you and your wife to close your bookstore today?”
“Well, Jake, we can&#8217;t do business as usual right now anyway because our city has been invaded by masked gunmen kidnapping family members and friends and neighbors of ours to send them to concentration camps,” Schwesnedl replied. “Additionally, there&#8217;s a lot of businesses in our area that have staff or customers or owners who are afraid to come to work, afraid to come in and shop. People are closing down today and we felt like it wouldn&#8217;t be kind or fair for us to stay open. So we&#8217;re closing in solidarity to help send a message.”
“I&#8217;m not here to defend ICE, but I&#8217;m not a big fan of people using the term concentration camp to describe detention camps,” Tapper protested. “That has a very specific meaning in terms of people that —”
“I understand that,” Schwesnedl responded. “But they take people to Fort Snelling here, which literally was built as a concentration camp. And Alligator Alcatraz, which I think we can all agree is a concentration camp. Not saying they&#8217;re Dachau, I&#8217;m not saying they&#8217;re putting people in ovens yet, but these are concentration camps.”

Minneapolis Bookstore Owner Sparks Outrage By Comparing ICE To Nazi Death Camps On CNN

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz on Sunday compared federal immigration officers to the Nazis.
The failed Democrat vice presidential candidate said during a press conference that immigration operations in Minnesota evoke the tale of Anne Frank, a Jewish girl who hid from the Nazi regime in an attic for over two years before dying in a concentration camp.
“We have got children in Minnesota hiding in their houses, afraid to go outside,” <a href="https://x.com/EndWokeness/status/2015512343887708359">said</a> Walz. “Many of us grew up reading that story of Anne Frank. Somebody is going to write that children’s story about Minnesota.”
Walz&#8217;s comments came after a Customs and Border Protection agent shot and killed Alex Pretti, a nurse who was interfering with their operations in the city. Pretti&#8217;s death comes just weeks after Renee Good was shot and killed after attempting to ram an Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agent with her car in Minneapolis.
Rioters have confronted federal agents enforcing immigration law in Minneapolis with increased ferocity since Good&#8217;s death, obstructing and often threatening them. Protesters often greet immigration agents with chants such as “Kill An ICE, Save A Life.”
Walz blamed President Donald Trump for the heightened tensions in his state.
“There’s one person who can end this now,” Walz said, referring to the president.
The outburst is just the latest in Walz’s months-long rhetorical crusade against federal immigration enforcement. Last year, Walz <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kill-an-ice-save-a-life-violent-chants-erupt-at-manhattan-protest">called</a> agents with Immigration and Customs Enforcement “Trump’s modern-day Gestapo.” Other Democratic officials, such as Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, have made similar comments.
Newly-elected New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill, also a Democrat, made a similar statement on Sunday when she claimed on CNN that ICE was like the communist STASI — the East German secret police.
Members of the Trump administration have fired back that Walz and other Minnesota officials have supported “terrorism” against ICE agents after threats and attacks against immigration agents have skyrocketed since Trump took office.
“Minnesota insurrection is a direct result of a FAILED governor and a TERRIBLE mayor encouraging violence against law enforcement. It’s disgusting,” Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a <a href="https://x.com/DAGToddBlanche/status/2011620198751597028">post</a> earlier this month. “Walz and [Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey] — I’m focused on stopping YOU from your terrorism by whatever means necessary. This is not a threat. It’s a promise.”

Democrats are in a tough position in the Senate races in 2026, as there are few vulnerable seats for Republicans.
One of those vulnerable seats was supposed to be in Maine, where Susan Collins, who is a Republican senator from a very purple to blue state, looked to be vulnerable against the Democrats. The Democrat chosen to run by the party was Graham Platner.
Graham Platner is a Bernie Sanders acolyte. He&#8217;s a far-leftist.
And now he is in trouble.
He’s in trouble because he is a radical, insane communist who seems to like Nazis. I don&#8217;t know where all this fondness for Nazis is coming from, but it does seem like a bizarre number of people are kind of into the Nazis these days.
The reason this is coming up is because Graham Platner apparently released a video showing him shirtless when he was drunk at some sort of event, and displayed a Nazi symbol tattooed on his chest.

Platner&#8217;s campaign shared video with Pod Save America of him singing shirtless that exposed a skull tattoo on his chest that resembles the &#8220;Totenkopf,&#8221; a symbol used by Hitler&#8217;s Schutzstaffel (SS). The move was intended to get ahead of opposition research, and the GOP&#8217;s Senate campaign arm seized on the images, accusing Platner of having a &#8220;Nazi tattoo.&#8221;</blockquote>
Platner then decided to go on the Pod Save America podcast, joining Tommy Vietor (former van driver for Barack Obama).
Platner said that the video was from his brother&#8217;s wedding, adding, “I am not a secret Nazi.”
It’s never a great political sign when you have to say you&#8217;re not a secret Nazi.
“I went to college,” Platner said. “I went to the gym, I did all the things. And at no point in this entire experience, of my life, did anybody ever once say, hey, you&#8217;re a Nazi. It never came up. Until we got wind that in the opposition research, somebody was shopping the idea that I was a secret Nazi with a hidden Nazi tattoo. And I can honestly say that if I was trying to hide it, I&#8217;ve not been doing a very good job for the past 18 years.”
Controversy has now broken out over whether he meant to have a Nazi symbol tattooed on his chest.

Now, I don&#8217;t know how many people accidentally have Nazi symbols tattooed on their chests. I feel like the number is relatively low. That&#8217;s not something you just randomly stumble onto. You get drunk one night and say, “Hey, let me get that Nazi tattoo here on my chest.”
Jewish Insider (JI) <a href="https://jewishinsider.com/2025/10/graham-platner-ss-tattoo-maine-senate/">reported</a>:
<blockquote>But according to a person who socialized with Platner when he was living in Washington, D.C., more than a decade ago, Platner had specifically acknowledged that the tattoo was a <a href="https://www.adl.org/resources/hate-symbol/totenkopf">Totenkopf</a>, the “death’s head” symbol adopted by an infamous Nazi SS unit that guarded concentration camps in World War II. “He said, ‘Oh, this is my Totenkopf,’” the former acquaintance told Jewish Insider recently, speaking on the condition of anonymity to address a sensitive issue. “He said it in a cutesy little way.”
The exchange occurred in 2012 at Tune Inn, a popular dive on Capitol Hill where Platner later worked as a bartender and was a frequent patron while he attended The George Washington University on the G.I. bill, according to the former acquaintance. He would often take his shirt off drinking with friends late at night at the bar, and on at least one occasion had stated he knew what the tattoo represented, the former acquaintance recalled.
Platner gave varying accounts of the image during this time, saying at one point he was aware it was a Totenkopf when he had first gotten the tattoo several years prior and at another time claiming he had not known, according to the former acquaintance. </blockquote>
That is why he&#8217;s revealing the video now, early, in an attempt to get past it before the vote.
JI continued:
<blockquote>Platner’s former political director, Genevieve McDonald, who <a href="https://www.bangordailynews.com/2025/10/17/politics/elections/former-maine-lawmaker-resigns-graham-platner-campaign/">resigned</a> from his campaign last week over her objection to his recently unearthed incendiary Reddit comments, said in a Facebook post on Tuesday that “Graham has an antisemitic tattoo on his chest.” “He’s not an idiot, he’s a military history buff,” McDonald <a href="https://image.jewishinsider.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/21135315/PHOTO-2025-10-21-19-24-33.jpg">wrote in the post</a>, which was reviewed by JI. “Maybe he didn’t know it when he got it, but he got it years ago and he should have had it covered up because he knows damn well what it means.”</blockquote>
This is not a gigantic shock coming from Platner because there were a bunch of Reddit posts that are pretty ugly as well. In one of them, he openly described himself as a communist. He called all cops “bastards” and dismissed sexual assault in the military. He also defended a man with a Nazi SS lightning bolt tattoo who later admitted to impersonating a federal officer at a BLM protest in Las Vegas in 2020.
What&#8217;s amazing about this — aside from the fact that Graham Platner seems to be a bit of a scumbag — is this the kind of stuff that would normally get you canceled, especially by Democrats (if you weren’t a Democrat).
Jon Lovett, one of the Pod Save America brothers, <a href="https://x.com/jonlovett/status/1980783543354810546">tweeted out:</a>

Also, Jon Lovett routinely calls people Nazis. Interesting how that double standard immediately applies.
Bernie Sanders <a href="https://x.com/igorbobic/status/1980703417229000878">declared</a>, “There’s a young man who served his country in Afghanistan and Iraq, and he went through some really difficult experiences seeing friends of his killed or whatever, and in spite of all of that he had the courage to run. I personally think he is an excellent candidate. I’m going to support him.”
I don&#8217;t think Sanders would be making the same excuses if the person were on the other side of the aisle.
When asked about Platner’s comments on sexual assault, Sanders then shot back, “Have you served four tours of duty?”
I love Bernie Sanders pulling out the patriotic military service card after spending an entire career ripping on the American military industrial complex and America&#8217;s foreign policy.
But in the end, this is the Democratic Party. It is all about power. It is not about actual, consistent argumentation. They are perfectly happy to have a self-described commie with a Nazi tattoo on his chest running for the Senate in Maine. If it means the Republicans lose control of the Senate, that&#8217;s it.
That&#8217;s what really matters to them in the end.

A Taylor Swift fan who accused the singer of selling a necklace with allegedly blatant Nazi symbolism has gone viral with her claims.
Also, the item has disappeared from Swift’s <a href="https://store.taylorswift.com/">merchandise site</a>, though it’s unclear if this was due to the accusations or because it sold out. Reps for Swift did not immediately return a request for comment on the controversy.
User sampire1513, whose profile describes her as “the friend that’s too woke” and “happily gay married,” posted a video detailing all the symbolism she saw on the necklace being sold on Swift’s merchandise website. The jewelry piece was meant to go along with the song “Opalite” from the singer’s newest “The Life of a Showgirl” album.
The video has gone viral on multiple social media platforms, earning 5.4 million views on TikTok and a ton of supportive comments.
The TikTok creator opened by mentioning the reception to the song “Opalite,” which she said has “racial undertones.”
“I am in the business of  listening to black women. I think they would know what a microaggression sounds like against them way better than I ever could,” sampire1513 began.
She said after seeing the necklace, she has decided that the song “Opalite” is “completely intentionally racial. And I am sick.”

The TikTok creator goes on to describe how the necklace has lightning bolts, but insists that the way these lightning bolts are designed is meant to represent something specific while acknowledging that the lyrics say, “dancing through the lightning strikes.”
“They are specifically SS lightning bolts,” sampire1513 continues. “Okay? It is not ambiguous. That is exactly what it is.”
She goes on with the conspiracy accusations.

“And then, if you&#8217;ll look, there are eight of them,” the TikTok user says. “Why does that matter? Because H is the eighth letter in the alphabet. Many Nazi, neo Nazi circles, gangs, will put an 88, meaning [Heil] Hitler, they&#8217;ll put it in their bios, they&#8217;ll tattoo it on their bodies, they&#8217;ll put it on their motorcycles, their leather jackets … I&#8217;m not reaching … the 88 thing is extremely common.”
Sampire1513 goes on to claim that the cross on the necklace is a “f***ing iron cross,” a German military medal.
The social media creator said after seeing the necklace, there are only two options.
“Number one, Swift&#8217;s team and Swift herself, they put this out, and they genuinely just didn&#8217;t know what they were doing. And it&#8217;s a complete happenstance that it resembles any commonly used Nazi dog whistles,” she said, noting that for this to happen, there would have to be no one on the team who is Jewish or who went through “cultural sensitivity training.”
“&#8230;Option number two, which is, she knows exactly what this is, and that’s what she decided to put out. What the f***,” the user said.
Sampire1513 demanded that Swift put out a statement condemning Nazism and hatred. “I don&#8217;t think I&#8217;m reaching at all,” she said in conclusion of the necklace’s alleged symbolism. “I think it&#8217;s clear as f***ing day.”
The user set her TikTok account to private Thursday as the video continued gaining traction online. X users called her out for the allegations.
“That’s some unhinged stuff right there. As someone who studied the 3rd Reich for many years at university &#8211; no, they don’t look like SS lighting bolts, those look like the last 2 letters in KISS. That looks NOTHING like the Iron Cross,” one commenter <a href="https://x.com/Davidwebrooks/status/1978750769584087290">wrote</a>.
“If you see a [lightning] bolt and think nazi i think there&#8217;s only one person obsessed with nazis and it aint taylor swift,” another person <a href="https://x.com/Swiftsbeatle13/status/1978575424427847890">said</a>.

We have seen a massive spike in the number of attacks on ICE agents over the course of the last six months, since President Trump took office and decided we were actually going to enforce our border.
On Monday morning, a 27-year-old man with a rifle and tactical vest was killed after <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-gunman-in-tactical-gear-killed-after-opening-fire-on-border-patrol-agents?author=Zach+Jewell&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=BREAKING%3A+Gunman+In+Tactical+Gear+Killed+After+Opening+Fire+On+Border+Patrol+Agents">exchanging fire</a> with law enforcement officers at a border patrol facility in McAllen, Texas.
Border Czar Tom Homan has said attacks on ICE agents are up nearly <a href="https://grabien.com/story?id=535014">700%</a>. Border Patrol Chief Mike Banks said Left-wing anti-police rhetoric is having something to do with the uptick in violence, <a href="https://grabien.com/story?id=535050">asserting</a>, “All of the rhetoric and the false information that&#8217;s been put out by the Left is just increasing violence against our agents, and it&#8217;s just unacceptable.”
The Left has been claiming for a very long time that if you use rhetoric that is too colorful, if you say things that are borderline, this can lead to “stochastic terrorism.” What you&#8217;re doing is creating a permission structure for terrorism.
As I&#8217;ve said before, unless you are actually excusing or inciting violence, you are not responsible for that violence. With that said, when you raise the temperature, there will be people who bubble over.
That doesn&#8217;t mean Bernie Sanders is responsible for the congressional baseball shooter, for example, but what it does mean is that when you keep saying over and over and over that Republicans are going to kill your grandparents when they take away Medicare or some other such nonsense — and then somebody goes and shoots a bunch of Republican congresspeople for playing baseball — at the very least, you should consider whether the language you used was well-calibrated.
This is the problem. The language currently being used by the Left with regard to ICE or Border Patrol is extraordinary. It sets up a permission structure that causes people who are unhinged to take their behavior to the next level.
In the same way, if you keep saying President Donald Trump is Hitler, at some point, someone might take you seriously and go and try to kill Hitler.

Here are just a few examples of members of the high-ranking Left going after ICE and Border Patrol in language that is completely unhinged.
Failed Vice-Presidential candidate <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVOrOkxeCD4" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tim Walz</a>: “Donald Trump&#8217;s modern-day Gestapo is scooping folks up off the streets. They&#8217;re in unmarked vans, wearing masks, being shipped off to foreign torture dungeons. No chance to mount a defense. Not even a chance to kiss a loved one goodbye.”
Boston Mayor <a href="https://x.com/RapidResponse47/status/1930630848832831496">Michelle Wu</a>: “I don&#8217;t know of any police department that routinely wears masks. We know that there are other groups that routinely wear masks.” 
Los Angeles Mayor <a href="https://www.courthousenews.com/newsom-files-emergency-motion-to-block-military-deployment-in-la/">Karen Bass</a>: “Which is why I say that I feel like we have all been in Los Angeles a part of a grand experiment to see what happens when the federal government decides they want to roll up on a state, or roll up on a city, and take over.&#8221;
Rep. <a href="https://www.breitbart.com/clips/2025/06/12/dem-rep-goldman-dhs-agents-are-using-gestapo-like-tactics/">Dan Goldman</a> (D-NY): “The combination of these Gestapo-like tactics with the fact that these are nonviolent, non-criminal immigrants doing things the right way &#8230;”
Rep. Alexandria <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/transcript/rep-alexandria-ocasio-cortez-blasts-conditions-at-migrant-detention-centers">Ocasio-Cortez</a> (D-NY): “I mean, in that last facility, I was not safe from the officers in that facility.”
Rep. <a href="https://x.com/DailyCaller/status/1933172641646416273">Stephen Lynch</a> (D-MA): “You know, my dad served in the Second World War. He fought the Nazis in Northern Africa. He fought the Nazis on the Italian peninsula. And I think he&#8217;s looking down right now, and he&#8217;s happy that I&#8217;m fighting today&#8217;s Nazis.”
There are a lot of prominent Democratic figures using this kind of rhetoric, and that language is going to have some sort of consequence.
It doesn&#8217;t mean they&#8217;re responsible for a person trying to shoot Border Patrol agents, but if you keep increasing the temperature and if you keep excusing violence on the other end — which, by the way, the Democrats have been doing for quite a long while, ranging from the sort of violence we saw during the BLM riots of 2020 to excusing the alleged murderous actions of Luigi Mangione on the streets of New York — you&#8217;re obviously going to lead to an uptick in violence.
You may not like President Trump&#8217;s immigration policy; that is your prerogative. But it is also the law of the land. You are not allowed to cross our southern border illegally and simply live here.
That is the law of the land. If you don&#8217;t like that law, you should talk to your member of Congress. If you don&#8217;t like that law, then you should try to change that law.
That&#8217;s how it works in a democracy.
You don&#8217;t get to simply call the people who are enforcing the law “Nazis” and “Gestapo agents” and then act surprised when people attack the supposed Nazis and Gestapo in our midst.
