On Saturday, former Vice President Kamala Harris took a not-so-subtle rhetorical jab at President Donald Trump, who defeated her in the 2024 election last November, and Elon Musk.
Harris delivered remarks upon receiving the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/unwavering-commitment-to-justice-equity-naacp-bestows-award-on-kamala-harris" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Chairman&#8217;s Award</a>, which <a href="https://www.naacpimageawards.net/press/pressRelease/144" target="_blank" rel="noopener">honors</a> people who &#8220;excel in public service and leverage their unique platforms to ignite and drive meaningful change&#8221; at the NAACP Image Awards in Pasadena, California.
&#8220;Some see the flames on our horizons, the rising waters in our cities, the shadows gathering over our democracy and ask &#8216;What do we do now?'&#8221; Harris said a few minutes into her speech.
&#8220;But we know exactly what to do, because we have done it before,&#8221; she added. &#8220;And we will do it again. We use our power. We organize, mobilize. We educate and we advocate. Because, you see, our power has never come from having an easy path.&#8221;
Harris later needled Trump and Elon Musk, a wealthy tech executive who is overseeing the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), without mentioning them by name.
&#8220;While we have no illusions about what we are up against in this chapter in our American story, this chapter will be written not simply by whoever occupies the Oval Office nor by the wealthiest among us,&#8221; Harris said. &#8220;The American story will be written by you. Written by us. By we the people.&#8221;
Reports <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kamala-is-a-young-politician-and-will-be-back-ex-adviser-says" target="_blank" rel="noopener">emerged</a> after Trump won the 2024 election indicating that Harris, 60, was signaling to her confidants that she wants to keep her future political options open, including a potential 2026 campaign for governor of California or a presidential run in 2028.
&#8220;I don’t think the world has seen the last of Vice President Kamala Harris,&#8221; Symone Sanders, a former adviser to Harris who became a host on MSNBC, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kamala-is-a-young-politician-and-will-be-back-ex-adviser-says" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in December. &#8220;I don’t know how she will show up again, but she is a young politician who garnered over 75 million votes in this election, and she will be back.&#8221;
Harris has not formally embarked on any campaigns in the intervening months, but last week she made <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2025/02/19/kamala-harris-caa-creative-artists-agency/79216896007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">headlines</a> by signing with Hollywood talent agency CAA, joining former Presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama.

The NAACP will bestow its Chairman’s Award, which honors people who “excel in public service and leverage their unique platforms to ignite and drive meaningful change,” on former Vice President Kamala Harris.
The award will be presented at the NAACP Image Awards on February 22.
“Vice President Kamala Harris is more than a leader – she is a force of change, driven by an unwavering passion to shape a brighter, more equitable future. It is with great honor that we present her with the Chairman’s Award at this year’s NAACP Image Awards, celebrating her relentless dedication to justice, equality, and the betterment of our society. The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/naacp" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NAACP</a> attempted to use Marine veteran Daniel Penny&#8217;s acquittal to stir racial unrest on X, and immediately got hit with a community note laying out several key points explaining why race had absolutely no bearing on that case.
Penny was acquitted on Monday in the death of Jordan Neely, a black man who had a relatively impressive rap sheet before he began behaving erratically and threatening people on a New York City subway. Penny stepped in to stop him, briefly placing Neely in a choke hold — and while he died later, Neely was alive when police arrived on the scene.
The NAACP shared a CNN report on the acquittal and added the following commentary: &#8220;The acquittal of Daniel Penny in the death of Jordan Neely has effectively given license for vigilante justice to be waged on the Black community without consequence. It&#8217;s a painful reminder of the inequities in our justice system. Jordan deserved compassion. Instead, he was met with violence. We stand with his family in calling for accountability.&#8221;

The response from Community Notes was as thorough as it was quick:
&#8220;Daniel Penny did not act alone in defending himself and others from Neely. A black man can be clearly seen assisting Penny to subdue Neely. A black woman testified in defense of Penny. There is no evidence that Penny was motivated by race,&#8221; the note read — and included video showing proof that at least one black man had aided Penny in restraining Neely.
&#8220;It should be noted that another black man attempted to restrain Jordan Neely,&#8221; the video was captioned. &#8220;This event was not racial nor was the verdict. If you wanted to show compassion to Mr. Neely it should&#8217;ve [come] during the 100+ prior times he was arrested. He was a danger to his community. Just a fact.&#8221;

NAACP Slapped With Brutal Community Note For Using Daniel Penny Acquittal To Race-Bait

A year before former President Donald Trump was convicted on 34 felonies, and a month after Trump was indicted, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg was attending a fundraiser for a group that wants Trump&#8217;s name off the ballot alongside a man who has <a href="https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2021/01/spike-lee-donald-trump-hitler" target="_blank" rel="noopener">likened Trump to Adolph Hitler</a>.
In May 2023, Bragg attended the main fundraiser for the NAACP Legal Defense Fund (LDF), which has been on the front lines of legal efforts to keep Americans from being able to hear from, and vote for, Trump. He was pictured alongside film director Spike Lee, who has said Trump &#8220;will go down in history with the likes of Hitler&#8221; and that both Trump and &#8220;all his boys&#8221; are &#8220;going down on the wrong side of history.”
Bragg has come under fire by Trump&#8217;s supporters for what they characterize as a political prosecution of the former president. Bragg used a dubious and unproven out-of-jurisdiction crime to transform an alleged paperwork misdemeanor into 34 felonies, all of which a Manhattan jury quickly <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/verdict-trump-found-guilty-on-all-charges-in-hush-money-case" target="_blank" rel="noopener">convicted</a> the former president of. His attendance at a fundraiser will likely only fuel allegations that Trump was targeted only because he&#8217;s the Republican nominee for president.
The George Soros-backed district attorney&#8217;s prosecution of Trump was in keeping with the aggressive rhetoric of the legal group, which is also supported by the Soros family.
Jonathan Soros, the son of George Soros, who has spent heavily on district attorney races including Bragg&#8217;s, is on <a href="https://www.naacpldf.org/about-us/board-of-directors/">the board</a> of the group, as is the wife of Matthew Colangelo, who <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bidens-number-3-at-doj-left-to-prosecute-trump-in-ny-a-lawsuit-seeks-insight-into-the-move" target="_blank" rel="noopener">left a top role</a> in Joe Biden&#8217;s Department of Justice to work for Bragg on the Trump case. Colangelo&#8217;s wife, Anne Small, is listed as a top sponsor at the event, donating at least $25,000.
It is unclear who exactly paid for Bragg to attend the fundraiser. His office said he was not an official guest of Lee, but did not respond to questions regarding the anti-Trump mission of the group.
The NAACP LDF has used extreme tactics to keep Americans from being able to hear from, and vote for, Trump. When Colorado sought to simply take Trump off the ballot, the fund filed a <a href="https://www.naacpldf.org/press-release/ldf-files-amicus-brief-defending-full-enforcement-of-the-fourteenth-amendment-in-trump-v-anderson/">friend-of-the-court brief</a> supporting the move, saying Trump had &#8220;engaged in an insurrection.&#8221;
When every member of the Supreme Court, including its most liberal justices, said that this was unconstitutional, the group&#8217;s president, Janai Nelson, called it a &#8220;disturbing and dangerous pattern of judicial overreach&#8221; that threatened &#8220;our multi-racial, multi-ethnic <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/wife-top-biden-doj-official-prosecuting-trump-donated-thousands-biden-obama.amp" target="_blank" rel="noopener">democracy</a>.&#8221;
It also blasted Facebook for allowing him on the platform by saying the company was not legally &#8220;compelled&#8221; to reinstate him and saying being able to hear from a former president <a href="https://www.naacpldf.org/press-release/ldf-condemns-meta-decision-to-restore-former-president-donald-trumps-facebook-and-instagram-accounts/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">&#8220;endangers&#8221;</a> the public. It called allowing Trump on the platform a &#8220;reckless, unjustifiable, and irresponsible decision.”
<a href="https://www.essence.com/gallery/legal-defense-fund-dinner-2023/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Essence</a>, a black-oriented magazine, reported on the 2023 fundraising event by saying that money raised for the group would go towards fighting Trump  &#8220;in the courtroom and beyond.&#8221;
Bragg claimed that Trump violated federal campaign finance law by not filing a report with the Federal Election Commission saying he paid a porn star to keep silent about an affair, arguing that the move was campaign-related. That&#8217;s despite there being no precedent for campaign finance law being interpreted in this way, the federal government declining to charge Trump for it, and Bragg having no authority to charge federal crimes.
The law-and-order approach to President Trump — whose alleged crimes had no identifiable victim — is in marked contrast to the usual philosophies of Bragg and the NAACP, which typically view the harsh enforcement of law and order as racist against blacks.
In May, the NAACP LDF issued a &#8220;Statement <a href="https://www.naacpldf.org/press-release/ldf-issues-statement-honoring-george-floyd-and-calling-for-a-new-framework-for-public-safety-and-a-continued-commitment-to-racial-equity-four-years-after-his-death/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Honoring George Floyd</a>,&#8221; a violent felon who served only a short prison stint for robbing a pregnant woman at gunpoint. It used Floyd&#8217;s death to propose <a href="https://www.naacpldf.org/framework-for-public-safety/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">replacing police</a> with a &#8220;Corps of Unarmed Civilian Responders,&#8221; and criminal punishment with &#8220;Restorative Justice Programs.&#8221;
Bragg&#8217;s prosecution of Trump failed to separate itself from politics in the eye of the public. A recent <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/plurality-americans-trumps-guilty-verdict-correct-hush-money/story?id=110744698">poll</a> found that 47 percent of Americans think the charges against Trump were politically motivated, compared to just 38 percent who say they were not.

The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/supreme-court" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Supreme Court</a> upheld Republican-backed electoral maps in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/south-carolina" target="_blank" rel="noopener">South Carolina</a> in a 6-3 decision on Thursday, arguing that those suing to overturn the maps had not proven they were racially drawn.
A lower United States district court <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/supreme-court-upholds-gop-drawn-voting-map-south-carolina" target="_blank" rel="noopener">previously</a> ruled that maps approved by the Republican-controlled South Carolina legislature were unconstitutional after they were challenged by a chapter of the NAACP and the ACLU. The majority opinion, written by Justice Samuel Alito, said that the district court had ruled wrongly and that the maps could stand.
“When partisanship and race correlate, it naturally follows that a map that has been gerrymandered to achieve a partisan end can look very similar to a racially gerrymandered map,” Alito <a href="https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/23pdf/22-807_3e04.pdf#&amp;_intcmp=fnhpbt3_1,hp1bt" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a>. “In other words, the plaintiffs failed to meet the high bar for a racial-gerrymandering claim by failing to produce, among other things, an alternative map showing that a rational legislature sincerely driven by its professed partisan goals would have drawn a different map with greater racial balance.”
Alito’s decision was joined by Justices John Roberts, Neil Gorsuch, Amy Coney Barret, and Brett Kavanugh, with Clarence Thomas adding a concurring opinion.
Thomas wrote that the court had no authority to be intervening in disputes over electoral districts.
“In my view, the Court has no power to decide these types of claims,” he wrote in his concurrence. “Drawing political districts is a task for politicians, not federal judges. There are no judicially manageable standards for resolving claims about districting, and, regardless, the Constitution commits those issues exclusively to the political branches.”

The liberal wing of the court, including Justice Elena Kagan, Sonia Sotomayor, and Ketanji Brown Jackson, said they agreed with the lower court in their dissent and said that it was “more than plausible” that South Carolina had done race-based districting.
&#8220;In every way, the majority today stacks the deck against the Challengers. They must lose, the majority says, because the State had a &#8216;possible&#8217; story to tell about not considering race — even if the opposite story was the more credible,” they wrote.
The challenged map was already slated to be used for the 2024 election due to the ongoing court deliberations over the case.

By now we&#8217;re all painfully aware of how LGBT activists insist on having about 500 days on the calendar to celebrate themselves, from International Pronouns Day to Pride Month to the Transgender Day of Remembrance to my personal favorite, Gay Uncles Day. There&#8217;s clearly something pathological about all of this. But it&#8217;s also strategic at the same time. Leftists understand that to win, they have to completely flood the zone with their propaganda. They don&#8217;t want anyone have any kind of reprieve from it, even for a single day.
Unfortunately, as mind-numbing as this tactic is, it&#8217;s also effective — which is why it was never going to stop with the gender cult. And indeed, predictably, now the BLM movement is getting in on the action. They&#8217;re demanding that the death of Michael Brown — the criminal who attacked a store clerk, then charged at a police officer, punched him, and tried to take his gun — be memorialized on multiple days every single year. This was the martyr at the center of the &#8220;Hands up, don&#8217;t shoot&#8221; hoax, who kickstarted the rise of BLM.
It was less than a year ago, back in August, that I <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-media-is-still-lying-about-michael-brown-9-years-later-heres-why" target="_blank" rel="noopener">discussed</a> all the different memorials for Michael Brown. Everyone from the city of St. Louis to the Biden administration decided to eulogize Brown on August 9th, which was the ninth anniversary of his death. That&#8217;s the big Michael Brown Day, during which we&#8217;re all supposed to pretend Michael Brown was a useful and contributing member of society. We&#8217;re also supposed to pretend that a white supremacist police officer shot him in broad daylight in cold blood.
But as of yesterday, August 9th is no longer the only Michael Brown Day on the calendar. This week we saw a renewed effort to mark the occasion of Michael Brown&#8217;s birthday, which apparently falls on May 20th. The NAACP, for example, <a href="https://x.com/NAACP/status/1792572275570495511" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tweeted</a>, &#8220;Michael Brown should be celebrating his 28th birthday today. We will continue to say his name and fight for justice and accountability. Sending love to his family and friends.&#8221; NAACP president Derrick Johnson posted a similar <a href="https://x.com/DerrickNAACP/status/1792611942554808409" target="_blank" rel="noopener">message</a>: &#8220;Black people deserve to grow old.&#8221;
These messages — as detached from reality as they are — were echoed all over social media yesterday. Veena Dubal, a professor of law at UC Irvine, <a href="https://x.com/veenadubal/status/1792607444075688403" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a>, &#8220;Rest in Power, Michael Brown. &lt;3.&#8221; This is someone who allegedly teaches the law, celebrating someone who brutally attacked a law enforcement officer.

For its part, the nonprofit called &#8220;Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights,&#8221; led by Kerry Kennedy, <a href="https://x.com/RFKHumanRights/status/1792556011280126245" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tweeted</a>: &#8220;Michael Brown should be celebrating his 28th birthday. Today, we honor his life and legacy.&#8221; As for what that &#8220;life and legacy&#8221; entailed, that part was left unstated, for obvious reasons.
But congresswoman and BLM activist Cori Bush was a little more forthcoming. She uploaded this video to honor Michael Brown:

&#8220;We&#8217;re only left with the memories of who he was,&#8221; says Cori Bush. It&#8217;s supposed to be a sad line, I guess, even though all it does is remind us of the fact that Michael Brown roughed up a store clerk on camera, then attacked a cop.
For several years now, Cori Bush has simply ignored those inconvenient details. She&#8217;s been trying to make Brown&#8217;s birthday into a national day of mourning since before she was elected to Congress. In fact, Michael Brown is one of the main reasons she&#8217;s in Congress, as she&#8217;ll readily <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_56fSS3AB_Q" target="_blank" rel="noopener">admit</a>. But this week&#8217;s effort to promote a new Michael Brown Day was particularly embarrassing, for a few reasons.
For one thing, it&#8217;s hard not to notice how carefully worded Cori Bush&#8217;s statement is. She knows she has to steer clear of saying that Darren Wilson, the police officer who shot Michael Brown, actually did anything wrong. Even Barack Obama&#8217;s DOJ cleared Wilson, so in all likelihood, she&#8217;d get sued if she tried to do that.
As a result, Cori Bush (and her team of lawyers, we can assume) decided on the term &#8220;police violence&#8221; instead of &#8220;murder.&#8221; They probably figure that the term &#8220;police violence&#8221; gives them the wiggle room they need to insinuate that Darren Wilson is a murderer, without coming out and saying that directly. After all, the act of self-defense can definitely qualify as &#8220;violent,&#8221; even if it&#8217;s completely justified. 
That&#8217;s the level of word games and manipulation that we&#8217;re seeing from BLM activists in Congress right now. They&#8217;re choosing their words very carefully to elicit the reaction they want.
But somehow that wording about &#8220;police violence&#8221; was not, in the end, the most deceptive portion of Cori Bush&#8217;s video. Let&#8217;s listen on:

This is one of those statistics that, when you hear it, you immediately know it&#8217;s fake. You don&#8217;t need to use Google, you just recognize it intuitively.
She says that police killings of unarmed black people are directly responsible for, &#8220;50 million additional days of poor mental health days per year.&#8221; But she doesn&#8217;t define &#8220;poor mental health days&#8221; or explain how she&#8217;s concluding that police shootings are causing these &#8220;poor mental health days.&#8221; Or explain how we distinguish regular poor mental health days from the “additional” one.
That&#8217;s because the whole point of statistics like this is to shock you with big numbers so that you don&#8217;t stop to think about what they&#8217;re saying — which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. If you look into them — even for a second — you&#8217;ll realize they&#8217;re completely made up.
This particular statistic has been cited all over the place, <a href="https://thurgoodmarshallcenter.howard.edu/sites/tmcrc.howard.edu/files/2021-05/A%20Growing%20Dilemma%20-%20How%20Police%20Brutality%20Affects%20Mental%20Health%20in%20the%20Black%20Communities.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">including</a> Howard University Law School. As best I can tell, it originates from a 2018 <a href="https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(18)31130-9/abstract" target="_blank" rel="noopener">article</a> in The Lancet entitled, &#8220;Police killings and their spillover effects on the mental health of black Americans: a population-based, quasi-experimental study.&#8221; Right away, that title is something of a red flag. We&#8217;re talking about a &#8220;quasi-experimental study&#8221; here, which doesn&#8217;t seem nearly as definitive as Cori Bush made it sound.  She made it sound like she had actual facts, not quasi-facts.
Indeed, if you read on, you&#8217;ll find that the researchers — who apparently took money from a foundation specializing in &#8220;health equity&#8221; — aren&#8217;t certain of their findings at all. The summary of the Lancet article reads: &#8220;Police kill more than 300 black Americans — at least a quarter of them unarmed — each year in the USA. These events might have spillover effects on the mental health of people not directly affected.&#8221;
Did you catch that? &#8220;These events *might* have spillover effects on the mental health of people not directly affected.&#8221;
That&#8217;s quite a hedge, and if you look at the methodology, you&#8217;ll understand exactly why they&#8217;re hedging. Apparently the researchers just looked at two existing data sources. First, they analyzed the U.S Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, which is just a telephone survey system that asks people if they&#8217;re feeling okay. Then, the researchers looked at the dates of police shootings of unarmed black people (without regard to whether those black people, like Michael Brown, were attacking police officers when they died). And then the researchers checked to see how many people reported feeling sad within three months of a police shooting of an unarmed black person. They say they noticed a correlation where only black people seemed upset in the 1-2 months after these shootings, while white people didn&#8217;t care. This is a methodology so absurd and arbitrary that if a fourth grader used it for a science fair project, he should get a failing grade. And possibly be expelled. 
It&#8217;s not even worth going into detail about correlation and causation because everyone understands that this data is garbage. For one thing, you&#8217;d expect white liberals to be quite shaken up by the death of an unarmed black person, but that doesn&#8217;t show up in the data at all. But more importantly, there&#8217;s about a million other explanations for why these respondents might have been unhappy.
Even these researchers concede that point, which is why they hedge their findings in the summary. This paper only serves one purpose, which is to give Democrats like Cori Bush a talking point, and a bogus justification to waste more taxpayer money. In this case, she&#8217;s asking for $50 million to redistribute in the service of mental health &#8220;equity,&#8221; which inevitably will mean allocating resources along racial lines.
But Cori Bush and activists like her aren&#8217;t the only ones benefiting from these lies. Outfits like BET, which claims to be, &#8220;where black culture lives,&#8221; are also promoting the narrative. BET put out its own video for Michael Brown&#8217;s birthday, describing him as &#8220;courageous&#8221; and saying that, &#8220;Black boys should be able to grow into Black men in peace&#8221; — regardless of whether they attack other people, apparently. As with the Cori Bush video, you&#8217;ll notice that they don&#8217;t want to talk about how Michael Brown actually died. It&#8217;s all about how activists &#8220;organized&#8221; and spread their message online. It&#8217;s about &#8220;what type of person&#8221; Michael Brown was, according to his mother.
All of these activists and organizations — from the UC Irvine law professor to Cori Bush to BET — understand exactly why Michael Brown died. They know he didn&#8217;t die in service of any higher purpose. He wasn&#8217;t a martyr or even a footsoldier. He was a violent criminal who somehow made living in Ferguson even more dangerous than it already was.
But all of these activists also understand that the Michael Brown hoax gave rise to the BLM era. That&#8217;s a mythology they cannot revise or reject at this point —  nor would they want to revise or reject it, because it&#8217;s given them so much power and influence. Therefore the perpetrators of the hoax are sticking to the script no matter what. They are simply ignoring all evidence that clearly contradicts their claims.
This is what you have to do if you desperately want to build a movement around a false narrative. You can never admit that the narrative was false. You just have to keep repeating the lie, over and over again, at every opportunity. They won&#8217;t stop until we&#8217;re celebrating Michael Brown all 365 days of the year. They&#8217;re betting that, eventually, the history books will reflect their manufactured version of what happened in Ferguson. That&#8217;s clearly their goal. And unless conservatives start telling the truth about that day — until they start defending Darren Wilson anywhere near as much as the Left worships Michael Brown — then eventually, through sheer repetition, activists like Cori Bush will get exactly what they want.

Speaking at the Detroit NAACP Fight For Freedom Fund Dinner on Sunday night, President Joe Biden championed DEI values, saying they represented the “core strength of America.”
The Daily Wire reported earlier this month that the “Biden administration has launched a sweeping effort to embed the diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) agenda throughout the federal bureaucracy, leveraging race and sexuality-based employee associations to push for leftwing ideology within the administrative state.”
“Look, the values of diversity, equity and inclusion are the core strength of America,” Biden said in Detroit. “That’s why I’m proud to have the most diverse administration in history to tap into the full talents of our country. I promised you when I was president I would have an administration that looked more like America, We have more African-American, we have more women, we have more minorities in our administration than any other administration in all of history. That’s why we’re doing so damn well.”
As far as Biden’s administration “doing so damn well,” surveys conducted by The New York Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and Siena College released last week showed former President Donald Trump leading Biden in five of six swing states. “As three-quarters of likely voters in these six battleground states say the economy is no better than only fair or poor, large majorities in each state trust Donald Trump to do a better job on the country’s financial well-being than Joe Biden,” a Siena College poll synopsis <a href="https://scri.siena.edu/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/NYT0524-Release.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stated</a>.
In early May, it was <a href="https://www.tampafp.com/secret-service-agents-seek-probe-of-bidens-dei-policies-after-female-agent-launches-bizarre-physical-attack-on-male-superior/">reported</a> that roughly 40 U.S. Secret Service agents signed a petition calling for a congressional investigation into whether DEI policies have created a national security threat.

The Daily Wire report added:

It advertises several invite-only groups, including for Latinx, Working While Black, and even one called Not Your Dude, which is intended for “cis women, trans women, trans men, non-binary people, and those who are otherwise marginalized (i.e., non-hegemonic masculine folks).&#8221;
The Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the top intelligence agency that oversees the CIA, NSA, FBI, and elements of the Pentagon, explained in a <a href="https://www.dni.gov/files/documents/FOIA/DF-2024-00143-Dive-Winter-23-24.pdf">document obtained</a> by The Daily Wire that affinity groups led a race-based leadership development program. The African American Affinity Network and the Latino Intelligence Network hosted a leadership summit where attendees “learned about unique opportunities at other agencies” and were invited to a workshop on building a professional brand.
The document also shows that employee resource groups within the intelligence community for those who are Asian or Pacific Islander have influenced how America’s intelligence apparatus refers to our foreign adversaries. The employee organizations “have been particularly successful in creating a new framework and language guidelines for how we talk about the People’s Republic of China,” the <a href="https://www.dni.gov/files/documents/FOIA/DF-2024-00143-Dive-Winter-23-24.pdf">document</a> obtained by The Daily Wire reads.
At the National Security Agency (NSA), there are 10 different <a href="https://www.nsa.gov/culture/diversity-equity-inclusion-accessibility/employee-resource-groups/">employee resource groups</a>, the majority of which are based on employees’ racial or ethnic backgrounds. “These employee-led groups are composed of individuals who work together to foster an inclusive and unified culture,” the NSA states. “Individuals may join ERGs as either a member or ally.”</blockquote>

In the late 90&#8217;s, a veteran and father of three named Norman Browning <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13371505/baton-rouge-school-sports-coach-racial-tensions-wealthy-white-residents-city.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">took</a> a job as a volunteer coach at Woodlawn High School in East Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Browning had been educated by Baton Rouge&#8217;s public schools and he wanted to give back to the community. But very quickly, he realized that Woodlawn was very different from the school it used to be.
For one thing, there wasn&#8217;t much discipline. Teachers didn&#8217;t have close relationships with parents, and didn&#8217;t seem particularly interested in doing their jobs. Test scores were abysmal.
Additionally, demographics had shifted dramatically. Students were poorer than they used to be. And there wasn&#8217;t much of the fabled &#8220;diversity&#8221; that we&#8217;re told is so important. More than half of the student body was black. Meanwhile, Baton Rouge and its schools were becoming increasingly violent. (Currently it&#8217;s one of the ten most dangerous cities in the country).
Here&#8217;s just one recent example of a common sight in Baton Rouge schools:

So there&#8217;s a brawl in the school, and then the parents show up and they get involved in the brawl too. And then a gun turns up, and the cops aren&#8217;t remotely surprised by any of this. This kind of thing has been happening consistently in Baton Rouge for the past decade. As the Daily Mail <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13371505/baton-rouge-school-sports-coach-racial-tensions-wealthy-white-residents-city.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reports</a>, on a single day in 2013, Browning observed &#8220;as many as six separate fights between unruly students.&#8221;
Instead of shaking his head and moving on — which he very easily could have done — Browning decided on a different course of action. As the Daily Mail reports, Browning decided to help lead a breakaway movement to effectively secede from East Baton Rouge parish and incorporate a new city called St. George. This new city would have schools that admit students who actually want to learn, and teachers who want to teach.

The idea was a longshot. Other movements to incorporate new cities and secede, most notably the effort by Buckhead to secede from Atlanta in Georgia, have <a href="https://www.atlantanewsfirst.com/2023/03/02/buckhead-cityhood-bill-fails-georgia-senate/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">fallen</a> short. That&#8217;s mainly because local politicians — including conservatives — have stood in the way. 
But — after a campaign that took the better part of a decade — in 2019, voters finally approved a ballot initiative to create St. George. What followed were years of legal battles that ended last week, when the Louisiana Supreme Court ruled in a <a href="https://www.lasc.org/opinions/2024/23-1108.C_23-1118.C.OPN.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">4-3 decision</a> that St. George can indeed incorporate. St. George will be a 60-square mile area, with a population of more than 85,000 residents. (For comparison, Baton Rouge is 76 square miles, with a population of more than 200,000). 
That&#8217;ll make St. George one of the largest cities in the state. They&#8217;ll have their own mayor, public services, and city council. Watch:

A key part of the Louisiana Supreme Court&#8217;s ruling is that, contrary to what Baton Rouge claimed, St. George has the financial means to be self-sustaining. And that&#8217;s not surprising. Taxpayers in the area that&#8217;s now known as St. George <a href="http://stgeorgelouisiana.com/faq/#:~:text=George's%20taxpayers%20provide%20two%2Dthirds,that%20government's%20expense%20in%20return." target="_blank" rel="noopener">pay</a> roughly two-thirds of the total tax revenue of the government of East Baton Rouge. But they receive only about one-third of the government&#8217;s expenses in return. And, despite paying all these taxes, St. George residents haven&#8217;t been <a href="http://stgeorgelouisiana.com/about-us/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">represented</a> in the mayor&#8217;s office in Baton Rouge in modern history.
In other words, St. George is vital for East Baton Rouge&#8217;s economy. And in return for all the tax revenue St. George has generated, Baton Rouge has done basically nothing for St. George. They made their neighborhood more dangerous and their schools even worse. And on top of that, the people of St. George have no real representation in local government. So now East Baton Rouge isn&#8217;t going to get that tax revenue anymore, or at least not anywhere near the same amount. In fact, St. George residents are currently <a href="https://www.wbrz.com/news/st-george-leaders-say-they-want-east-baton-rouge-to-return-residents-tax-dollars" target="_blank" rel="noopener">seeking</a> tens of millions of dollars in back taxes that they&#8217;ve paid to the East Baton Rouge parish government since 2019.
You have to wonder why this isn&#8217;t happening more often. Governments that don&#8217;t provide basic services or representation for their citizens don&#8217;t deserve tax money from their citizens. That&#8217;s a pretty intuitive principle. And there&#8217;s no rule that says you can&#8217;t make your own city if you want to. Quite the opposite. The right of free association is a fundamental part of the constitution. So why isn&#8217;t this more commonplace?
One reason might be that anyone who attempts to incorporate a sane, high-functioning city will immediately be defamed as a racist. Predictably, that&#8217;s been the main reaction from the Left to the incorporation of St. George. There has been no reckoning about the failures of Baton Rouge&#8217;s leadership whatsoever. Here for example is a former president of the NAACP in Baton Rouge, reacting to the ruling of the Louisiana Supreme Court:

The NAACP guy starts off by saying that some of the people leading the secession movement are on the school board, so they&#8217;re responsible for the failing schools. Apparently these school board members should have used their vast influence in order to prevent brawls from constantly breaking out. They also should have forced the students to be smarter, the teachers to care more about their jobs, and parents to actually parent their children.
Then his argument devolves into accusing everyone in St. George of racism. They didn&#8217;t stay and try to fix East Baton Rouge&#8217;s broken school system, so they must be bigots who just want to get away from black people.
This is one of the stock responses you&#8217;ll hear on the Left in response to the secession of St. George. For example, on Twitter, a &#8220;black activist&#8221; named Samuel Sinyangwe <a href="https://x.com/samswey/status/1785826822388686961" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a>: &#8220;They’re &#8216;seceding&#8217; from a majority-Black city to create a whites-only enclave in Louisiana.&#8221;
Just as a factual matter, what this activist is saying about the new city isn&#8217;t true. It&#8217;s not a &#8220;whites-only enclave&#8221; because there are black people living in it. Specifically, <a href="https://apnews.com/article/new-louisiana-city-st-george-f06a362f9d2e10d7e8b559d4fa50563a" target="_blank" rel="noopener">12%</a> of the population is black, which is roughly the same percentage of black people you&#8217;ll find in Barack Obama&#8217;s preferred island, Martha&#8217;s Vineyard. It also mirrors the overall percentage of black people in the United States at large, which <a href="https://www.pewresearch.org/social-trends/fact-sheet/facts-about-the-us-black-population/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stands</a> at around 14%. In other words, these activists calling St. George a &#8220;whites-only enclave&#8221; are also, in effect, calling the entire country a &#8220;whites-only enclave.&#8221;
Additionally, Woodlawn High School, which I mentioned earlier, is <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woodlawn_High_School_(East_Baton_Rouge_Parish,_Louisiana)" target="_blank" rel="noopener">within</a> the limits of the new city of St. George. This school, with a lot of black students attending, is not being abandoned by this new city. The point is to improve its leadership so that there&#8217;s more learning and less fighting.
Of course, if you let these activists talk a little more, it becomes very clear what they&#8217;re really upset about. They&#8217;re not upset about racism or whatever. They know that East Baton Rouge, like so many other cities in this country, is dysfunctional — and no sane person would want to continue funding it with their tax dollars. What bothers these activists is that their source of funding is about to go to zero. Their cash cow is abandoning them. They will have to be productive for once and solve their own problems, without taking other people&#8217;s money and wasting it.
That NAACP president in Baton Rouge eventually gets around to admitting this. Listen:

&#8220;It&#8217;s pulling a lot of the resources and the tax bases from Baton Rouge. Stuff that is used to keep our city stable. &#8230; This is going to be paid for on the backs of poor black folks.&#8221;
There&#8217;s finally some honesty there. It&#8217;s true that, without St. George, Baton Rouge will probably have a lot of financial problems to deal with. But the people responsible for those problems are not living in St. George. They&#8217;re running Baton Rouge, which is losing population by the day. As the Louisiana Supreme Court <a href="https://www.lasc.org/opinions/2024/23-1108.C_23-1118.C.OPN.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said in its decision</a>: &#8220;Baton Rouge has arguably experienced a windfall by collecting taxes in St. George without returning proportionate money and services.
Incorporation will allow the money paid by St. George citizens to stay in St. George &#8230; The record establishes the population of St. George is increasing. Conversely, the population of Baton Rouge is declining.&#8221;
As St. George creates its new school system and builds out its infrastructure, it&#8217;s very likely that Baton Rouge&#8217;s population will continue to decline. That&#8217;s why, already, there&#8217;s an <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJ6TvNk46qI&amp;t=27s" target="_blank" rel="noopener">effort</a> by Baton Rouge activists to get the Louisiana Supreme Court to reconsider its decision.
But that will probably fail, as it should. For one thing, some of the economic success of St. George will almost certainly benefit Baton Rouge in a variety of ways. St. George will keep many more people in the area, and the residents there will still pay for some services provided by the government of East Baton Rouge.
But more importantly, if St. George continues to thrive, it will send a very clear signal to dysfunctional governments all over the country. And that signal is: Stop wasting our tax dollars, or we&#8217;ll leave — and we&#8217;ll take our tax dollars with us. That&#8217;s how our system was always supposed to work. Our country was founded on the principle that governments cannot lawfully tax people without representing them or working for their benefit. And with the secession of St. George from the capital city of Louisiana, for the first time in recent memory, that principle is back. Hopefully there&#8217;s much more to come.

The Oakland chapter of the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/naacp" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NAACP</a> blasted city leaders and called for a state of emergency over the city&#8217;s crime &#8220;crisis&#8221; in a statement on Thursday.
The liberal California city&#8217;s chapter of the NAACP, a black civil rights organization that <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/lets-stop-pretending-naacp-is-more-than-weaponized-left-wing-propaganda-machine" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tends</a> to lean Left, blamed the &#8220;defund the police&#8221; movement specifically as part of the reason for the crime spike.
&#8220;Failed leadership, including the movement to defund the police, our District Attorney’s unwillingness to charge and prosecute people who murder and commit life-threatening serious crimes, and the proliferation of anti-police rhetoric have created a heyday for Oakland criminals,&#8221; Oakland NAACP President Cynthia Adams, along with Bishop Bob Jackson of the Acts Full Gospel Church, <a href="https://www.ktvu.com/news/oakland-naacp-blasts-local-leaders-calls-for-state-of-emergency-due-to-crime" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in their statement.

&#8220;Oakland residents are sick and tired of our intolerable public safety crisis that overwhelmingly impacts minority communities,&#8221; the statement continued. &#8220;Murders, shootings, violent armed robberies, home invasions, car break-ins, sideshows, and highway shootouts have become a pervasive fixture of life in Oakland.&#8221;
The group called on elected leaders to declare a state of emergency and deploy &#8220;massive&#8221; resources to address the public safety crisis.
They also noted that people are moving out of Oakland &#8220;in droves&#8221; and are afraid to leave their homes, sending the city&#8217;s economy into a tailspin.
&#8220;As economic pain increases, the conditions that help create crime and criminals are exacerbated by desperate people with no employment opportunities,&#8221; the local NAACP chapter said.

The group argued that Oakland needs 500 more police officers than it currently has, meaning the 911 system does not work, and criminals know this, they said.
&#8220;There is nothing compassionate or progressive about allowing criminal behavior to fester and rob Oakland residents of their basic rights to public safety. It is not racist or unkind to want to be safe from crime. No one should live in fear in our city,&#8221; the NAACP chapter said.
Violent crime in Oakland is up 11% so far this year, <a href="https://cityofoakland2.app.box.com/s/sjiq7usfy27gy9dfe51hp8arz5l1ixad/file/1247649383801" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to police data. The city has experienced more than 3,300 incidents of violent crime so far in 2023.
Robberies are up 14% to more than 1,500 robberies, and rapes are up 16% to more than 90 rapes. More than 470 robberies were strong-arm robberies, and just under 600 robberies involved a firearm.
Car thefts are also up 33% to more than 6,200, an increase of more than 1,500 compared to this time last year.
Oakland residents have been sounding off about spiking violent crime for months.
In May, hundreds of angry residents of liberal Oakland, California, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hundreds-of-angry-oakland-residents-show-up-at-town-hall-on-crime" target="_blank" rel="noopener">showed up</a> to a town hall meeting on crime.
One woman in her 50s said two teenagers &#8220;beat the s*** out of me&#8221; in front of her North Oakland home last month. At first, she thought the kids needed help, she said, but then a teen boy body-slammed her, and a teen girl joined in on the attack.
In Oakland’s Rockridge neighborhood, considered one of the city’s safer areas, a 63-year-old woman was <a href="https://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/east-bay/rockridge-oakland-crime/3241152/#:~:text=The%20Rockridge%20neighborhood%20has%20always,something%20needs%20to%20be%20done." target="_blank" rel="noopener">attacked</a> in broad daylight outside a bustling indoor shopping mall in May. The attackers were part of a group of nine teens and pre-teens, police said.
Business owner Adam Stemmler, who owns a pizza shop in Oakland, said his staff had been held up at gunpoint four times over the last six years, and his shop has been broken into multiple times.
Stemmler accused the city of “encouraging this type of behavior” by refusing to address it.

Congressman Mike Waltz (R-FL) fired back on Tuesday after an MSNBC guest claimed that <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/florida" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Florida</a> was &#8220;about to be a terrorist state&#8221; for black Americans and anyone in the LGBTQ community.
Democratic strategist Aisha Mills made the comment to &#8220;Deadline White House&#8221; host Nicolle Wallace, referencing a travel warning from the NAACP that labeled Florida &#8220;hostile&#8221; to black Americans and the LGBTQ population. Waltz, a combat veteran and a Green Beret who was literally trained to fight terrorists, said Mills was &#8220;legitimately insane.&#8221;

Wallace brought up the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/naacp-leader-tells-black-americans-that-florida-isnt-safe-for-them-guess-where-he-lives" target="_blank" rel="noopener">travel warning</a>, issued by the NAACP over the weekend, which said in part, &#8220;Florida is openly hostile toward African Americans, people of color, and LGBTQ+ individuals. Before traveling to Florida, please understand that the state of Florida devalues and marginalizes the contributions of, and the challenges faced by African Americans and other communities of color.&#8221;
Mills said that she appreciated the warning from the NAACP, saying, &#8220;I think it was extremely clever, and I really appreciate the NAACP&#8217;s guidance on this issue, you know, I just took my family to Spring Break in Florida recently, and I think about all of the folks who travel there for sun and joy and peace and restoration — and to be reminded that actually this is getting to the point where Florida is about to be a terrorist state to many of us here in America. Certainly as a lesbian, as a black woman, I don&#8217;t want to have anything to do with the place.&#8221;
Mills went on to say that she felt like the NAACP&#8217;s guidance drew attention to those who might have considered traveling there and would choose to make different plans: &#8220;I thank them.&#8221;
Radio host Clay Travis shared a video clip of Mills&#8217; appearance, adding, &#8220;These people are legit insane&#8221; — and Waltz readily agreed.

Florida GOP Chairman Christian Ziegler also responded to the NAACP&#8217;s warning, noting that the organization&#8217;s chairman — Leon Russell — lived in Florida himself.

Twice-failed presidential candidate and <a href="https://www.rockethomes.com/real-estate-trends/ny/chappaqua" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Chappaqua, New York, resident</a> Hillary Clinton summed up the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/democratic-party" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Democratic Party&#8217;</a>s new base on Tuesday, and boy is it different from the Democrats of old.
The NAACP has issued a travel advisory warning that Florida is somehow unsafe for black Americans under Governor Ron DeSantis (R). Leftists don&#8217;t provide any evidence for why that is, and the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/naacp-leader-tells-black-americans-that-florida-isnt-safe-for-them-guess-where-he-lives" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NAACP chairman is a Florida resident</a>. But, Clinton also wanted the world to know that Florida is also allegedly unsafe for &#8220;LGBTQ+ people, or even multi-billion dollar corporations.&#8221;

It is a bit odd to be concerned about the well-being of gigantic corporations — especially as a Democrat. Leftists have historically painted Republicans as the party of Big Business — whereas the Democrats look out for the little guy.
Now, even The New York Times admits that is no longer the case.
Why? Well, corporate America is now often more aligned with social justice warrior causes such as advancing <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/new-analysis-corporate-america-has-donated-82-billion-to-blm-related-causes-so-far" target="_blank" rel="noopener">BLM-related initiatives</a>, the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/knowles-dissects-bud-light-parent-companys-leftist-agenda-ties-to-wef-mulvaney-partnership-least-of-our-problems" target="_blank" rel="noopener">LGBTQ agenda</a>, and even <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/here-are-the-woke-businesses-vowing-to-cover-travel-costs-for-employees-abortion-tourism" target="_blank" rel="noopener">abortion</a>.
As the Times&#8217; Andrew Ross Sorkin said in 2021, &#8220;Companies from Netflix to Citigroup got behind Black Lives Matter last summer; boycotts, including by the National Basketball Association’s All-Star Game, pushed North Carolina to repeal a law preventing transgender people from using restrooms that match their gender identity; and now, companies are speaking out against efforts that disproportionally suppress minority votes.&#8221;
Folks on Wall Street, often employed at these &#8220;multi-billion dollar corporations,” <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2020/10/28/wall-street-spends-74-million-to-support-joe-biden.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">donated more than $74 million to then-candidate Joe Biden in 2020</a>, too. Biden raked in donations from Wall Street while Trump was given a measly $18 million from those in the industry.

In 2016, those same players gave Clinton herself a whopping $84 million. Trump received only $20 million.
Democrats, and &#8220;<a href="https://twitter.com/TimMeadsUSA/status/1659509403282726912?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Disney Conservatives</a>,&#8221; have rallied around Mickey Mouse in its fight against DeSantis. Democrats want corporations to act hand-in-hand with the party&#8217;s identity politics agenda — especially on issues relating to LGBTQ activism.
For years now, the Left has seen their ticket to power as ruffling up racial strife, celebrating victimhood, and convincing those who identify as lesbian, gay, transgender, and everything else that Republicans hate them. Meanwhile, Democrats have all but ditched their pretense that they care about the average American worker so that they can court new fat cat donors.
As long as businesses go along with diversity, equity, and inclusion, then Democrats like Clinton are happy to defend them.

The NAACP Board of Directors issued a statement on Saturday warning black Americans that the state of Florida was not a safe place for them and included an official &#8220;travel advisory&#8221; calling the state &#8220;openly hostile&#8221; – but the board&#8217;s chairman, Leon Russell, apparently lives in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/florida">Florida</a> himself.

Florida has been the target of a number of attacks from the left in recent weeks – largely due to actions Governor DeSantis has taken to prevent doctors and parents from allowing minors to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/florida-senate-passes-bill-banning-minors-from-having-gender-reassignment-surgery-desantis-florida-house-likely-to-make-it-law" target="_blank" rel="noopener">begin the medical process</a> of gender transition and to prevent schools from teaching radical gender theory to elementary school students.
