The Trump administration notched a victory when a Kentucky federal judge temporarily blocked the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau from implementing a rule critics say puts Americans&#8217; financial data at risk.
The 1033 Rule, proposed under President Joe Biden&#8217;s CFPB Director Rohit Chopra, <a href="https://www.consumerfinance.gov/personal-financial-data-rights/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">requires</a> banks to &#8220;make available to consumers, upon request, transaction data and other information concerning a consumer financial product or service that the consumer obtained from the covered entity.&#8221;
Forcht Bank, the Kentucky Bankers Association, and the Bank Policy Institute sued to block the rule, saying it exceeded the CFPB’s authority and would force the institutions to hand over large amounts of sensitive data, creating security and liability risks. Judge Danny C. Reeves of the United States District Court for Kentucky concluded the rule could cause more harm than good.
&#8220;The public could arguably lose some benefit from the Rule not being enforced at the set compliance deadlines,&#8221; said the judge. &#8220;However, the plaintiffs also contend that enforcement of the current Rule puts consumers at risk due to security risk as to their banking information.&#8221;
The <a href="https://bpi.com/joint-statement-on-courts-decision-to-stay-section-1033-compliance-deadline/">Bank Policy Institute</a> issued a statement saying the organization was grateful for the court&#8217;s decision.
&#8220;This is a common-sense procedural step,&#8221; said the Bank Policy Institute. It &#8220;doesn’t interfere with the rulemaking process but ensures banks won’t be forced to invest time and resources preparing for a rule that is currently being rewritten.”
&#8220;This preliminary injunction marks a pivotal moment for those who value consumer privacy and limited-government issues,&#8221; a source familiar with the matter told The Daily Wire. &#8220;The Trump administration now has a unique opportunity to advance a new 1033 rule that gets the government out of the way and unleashes innovation.”
Under Vought&#8217;s leadership, the CFPB issued <a href="https://www.consumerfinance.gov/personal-financial-data-rights/">an advance notice of proposed rulemaking,</a> inviting the public to give input to form the basis of the final rule. Once input has been provided, the CFPB will share a draft of the rule.
The CFPB is now analyzing public comments and data around four key issues related to the implementation of the 1033 rule: who should be allowed to access financial data on a customer&#8217;s behalf, whether companies should be allowed to charge data sharing fees, how big are the security risks of sharing financial data, and how big are the privacy risks.
The Bank Policy Institute writes that the current rule &#8220;unlawfully mandated banks to share sensitive consumer data with third-party fintechs and aggregators; it required no oversight of third parties using bank customer data,&#8221; among other issues.
Earlier this year, Chopra was notified that he had been <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-fires-rohit-chopra-director-of-the-consumer-financial-protection-bureau/">fired by the president</a> via an email from the White House. President Trump appointed Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to lead the agency in interim before handing the reins over to Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vought.
Rethinking the CFPB has been a priority of the Trump administration&#8217;s since the start of his term. In February, the White House issued a statement stating that the agency &#8220;has long functioned as another woke, weaponized arm of the bureaucracy that leverages its power against certain industries and individuals disfavored by so-called elites.&#8221;
The Trump administration accused the CFPB of &#8220;supporting radical advocacy groups, threatening banks for refusing to lend to illegal immigrants, targeting a Chicago small business after it complained about the city&#8217;s rampant crime, and mining American citizens&#8217; personal financial information.&#8221;
On The Charlie Kirk Show, Vought discussed the importance of putting a stop to the agency&#8217;s ability to weaponize &#8220;the tools of financial laws against small mom and pop lenders and other small financial institutions.&#8221;

Grammy Award-winning singer Billie Eilish is furious with Elon Musk, accusing him of not donating to organizations claiming they can solve world hunger, among other things.
The 23-year-old recording artist reposted several infographics put out by the activist group My Voice, My Choice on her Instagram page on Thursday. The group had said Musk is the world’s first trillionaire, which is not accurate.
These images list ways Musk could use his money for charity, including donating $40 billion a year to end world hunger by 2030 and paying between $1 and $2 billion a year to bring down the endangered species status of 10,433 animals. Another suggestion was that he donate $53.2 billion to “rebuild Gaza.”
In a final slide, Eilish called Musk a “f***ing pathetic p***y b*** coward” for not giving away more of his money to her preferred causes.
This isn’t the first time Eilish lashed out at celebrities who are wealthier than she is.
“We’re in a time right now where the world is really, really bad and really dark and people need empathy and help more than kind of ever, especially in our country,” Eilish <a href="https://people.com/billie-eilish-calls-out-billionaires-in-room-with-mark-zuckerberg-11840118">said</a> during a speech at the Wall Street Journal Innovator Awards last month. “Love you all, but there’s a few people in here that have a lot more money than me. If you’re a billionaire, why are you a billionaire? No hate, but yeah, give your money away, shorties.”
Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg was in the crowd at the time.
The internet came after Eilish for her naive view that throwing money at a problem makes it go away. Several people brought up that in 2021, Musk <a href="https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1454808104256737289" target="_blank" rel="noopener">offered to donate</a> $6 billion to the United Nations World Food Program if it would provide him with a detailed plan for solving world hunger.
Others accused her of hypocrisy, arguing that she demanded Musk give away his wealth while retaining substantial wealth herself. Eilish became the youngest member of the Forbes World’s 100 Highest-Paid Celebrities in 2019, earning an estimated $53 million as of 2020, <a href="https://www.the-independent.com/arts-entertainment/music/news/billie-eilish-net-worth-mark-zuckerberg-billionaires-b2856568.html">per</a> The Independent.
“He has done more to help humanity than Billie Eilish ever has,” one X user <a href="https://x.com/SNS_Anon/status/1989279284037353656">observed</a>. “If you genuinely think people’s money shouldn’t be in their pockets and should be redistributed, demonstrate that revolutionary concept by giving up yours first, liquidate your assets, donate your income, and live by the principles you’re demanding everyone else follow.”
“Elon has helped so many countries and communities across the globe with access to internet, information, medical help and transportation,” another social media user agreed. “She’s done nothing even remotely close to that, her music is so negative and her whole vibe is negative. What a crybaby.”

From this point forward, you’ll have to pay more than a penny for your thoughts. The U.S. Mint made the final penny on Wednesday, ending the coin’s 232-year run.
The U.S. Mint said in a release that the final penny was struck in Philadelphia by United States Treasurer Brandon Beach.
“While general production concludes today, the penny’s legacy lives on,” Kristie McNally, Acting Mint Director, said. “As its usage in commerce continues to evolve, its significance in America’s story will endure.”
If you want the Mint’s two cents on the issue, production costs are to blame for the penny’s extinction. U.S. Mint’s release stated that over the past decade, the cost of making each penny has risen from 1.42 cents to 3.69 cents. Business Insider reported that the government will save roughly $50 million annually by ceasing penny production.
There are still about 300 billion pennies in circulation. The Mint stated that because the supply exceeds the amount needed for commerce, pennies can still be used. Stores can still price items in one-cent increments — so don’t throw your piggy bank away just yet.
President Trump ordered the penny to be canceled back in February of this year. He said on Truth Social: “For far too long, the United States has minted pennies which literally cost us more than two cents.”
In the 2024 annual report, the U.S. Mint recorded that the cost of producing pennies increased by 20.2% in that year alone.
“This is so wasteful! I have instructed my Secretary of the US Treasury to stop producing new pennies,” Trump declared.
So, nine months later, it did, at the Mint where the country’s lowest-value coins have been made since 1793. The penny entered circulation after the Coinage Act was passed in 1792.
President Abraham Lincoln has been the face of the one-cent coin since 1909. Lincoln was the first president featured on a coin in honor of his 100th birthday. The tails side of the most recent coin represents Lincoln’s preservation of the United States as a single country.
Over the 232-year lifespan of the penny, the <a href="https://www.usmint.gov/learn/coins-and-medals/circulating-coins/penny?srsltid=AfmBOorp-P0PbOJ5jRYvigQlRIm4B-3l4zGXxjxQJQtTp0bE4wPjPh8E">design</a> has evolved. The first penny showed a woman with her hair flowing, which the U.S. Mint said symbolized liberty. In its original form, the penny was larger and completely made out of copper. Today’s design is a mix of copper and zinc, featuring smaller elements.
More fun facts — back in 1943, the majority of pennies were made of zinc-coated steel in order to conserve copper needed for munitions during World War II.

Bessent also understands how fiscal health drives innovation. In recent remarks to community-bank CEOs, he urged them to “go on the offense” by adopting fintech and AI. That was not banker talk; it was a blueprint for growth. By modernizing lending rules and keeping borrowing costs low, he has opened new paths for regional lenders to support early-stage biotechs and rural innovation hubs.
Some critics claim his attention to global markets, such as the Argentina initiative, distracts from domestic priorities. They miss the larger point. In life sciences, borders are illusions. A stable global economy ensures supply-chain reliability, research collaboration, and steady talent flow. Bessent’s diplomacy prevents the kind of market shocks that raise costs and choke investment at home.
What sets him apart is a blend of intellectual rigor and street-smart optimism, refined through years in global markets and at the helm of his own firm, Key Square Capital. He is not a bureaucrat trading in slogans but a market-tested operator who knows how to turn downturns into momentum. In his speech at the Federal Reserve’s Community Bank Conference, he described a future where small lenders and big ideas combine to help America out-innovate China in quantum computing, biologics, and sustainable manufacturing. For those of us funding the next generation of cures, that vision is a North Star.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has cut over $30 million in &#8220;frivolous and unnecessary” government grants and contracts in the last three weeks, the Department of Homeland Security told The Daily Wire. 
The department said that it had cut a total of $31,692,166 in spending between August 22 and September 12. The savings were from de-obligated grants and contracts targeted as part of President Donald Trump&#8217;s efforts to cut down on government waste, the department told The Daily Wire.
“In just three weeks, Secretary Noem has saved the taxpayer more than $30 million. That’s more than $1 million per DAY,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, it is no longer open season on the American taxpayer at DHS. The Trump administration is draining the swamp, restoring accountability to the federal government, and putting hardworking Americans FIRST again.”
Under the Trump administration, all department contracts worth over $100,000 have to be approved by Noem.
In total, the Department of Homeland Security said it has saved over $12 billion during Noem’s tenure. In total, that equals out to saving about $50 million per day during the Trump administration.
Homeland Security also said that it was providing savings to American taxpayers by deporting illegal aliens.
“These savings figures don’t even include the additional savings from DHS’s immigration enforcement efforts since President Trump resumed office,” the department said.
According to an estimate from the Federation for American Immigration Reform, the net cost of illegal immigration on American citizens is around $150 billion per year. These costs include schooling, health care, and food assistance for illegal aliens.
“Taxes paid by illegal aliens only cover around 17.2 percent of the costs they create for American citizens, bringing the net cost to $150.7 billion a year. For every dollar in taxes paid by illegal aliens, they and their dependents consume six dollars in benefits and services,” the organization <a href="https://www.fairus.org/new-fair-report-annual-costs-illegal-immigration-soars-1507-billion-year">found</a>.
The Trump administration is looking to use new funds allocated by the Big, Beautiful Bill to help increase deportations.

Whoopi Goldberg is once again claiming that one reason she won’t retire from hosting “The View” is that she doesn’t have enough money.
The 69-year-old comedian discussed the situation during a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight. When asked if she was ready to slow down and enjoy her life, Goldberg replied, “Yeah, but who can afford to do that? You know if you don’t marry well, you gotta keep working.”
The interviewer pressed on that point, saying Goldberg may be someone who could afford to retire. “No, not by now. Not yet,” the “Sister Act” star insisted.
At another point, Goldberg said, “I’ve got to keep paying those bills, baby.”

This isn’t the first time the host of “The View” indicated that she hadn’t earned enough money to step back from her career. 
In November 2024, Goldberg indicated she was “working class” because she was still working.
“I appreciate that people are having a hard time. Goldberg and the other panelists on “The View” have been mocked for years for their stridently partisan opinions. They are currently in full meltdown mode over Trump’s second presidency, criticizing him for his stance on almost everything. 
Joy Behar, 83, also spoke with Entertainment Tonight, saying she wasn’t planning to retire either. She said it had to do with creativity, not finances.
“I just really like to write and create stuff,” she said. “Creative people don’t retire, they don’t resign, they just keep going,” she added.

JPMorgan Chase <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-07-11/jpmorgan-tells-fintechs-they-have-to-pay-up-for-customer-data">just announced</a> a new set of fees on financial-technology (fintech) platforms for access to their customers&#8217; bank account information. This move from the banking giant is a direct attack on consumer choice, financial innovation, and the free market.
America’s biggest bank is effectively imposing a tax on consumers. These fees aren’t about protecting customers or improving service; they’re about preserving the bank’s monopoly over your money and your information.
This is the clearest sign yet that Wall Street is terrified of competition from fintech platforms, decentralized finance (DeFi), and crypto. That’s because these sectors are delivering what traditional banks have long resisted: greater consumer choice, better user experiences, lower fees, and more transparency. They’re unlocking new technologies, slashing costs, and giving users greater control over their financial futures.
Apps like Venmo, Acorns, Robinhood, and Chime rely on secure access to banking data to offer direct-to-consumer services. These apps work because they can securely link to a user’s bank account through third-party platforms. When banks like JPMorgan make those connections more expensive or difficult, they’re not just squeezing fintech platforms, they’re cutting off consumers from tools they increasingly rely on and, in essence, forcing you to pay for access to your own banking information.
It&#8217;s clear JPMorgan and other major banks are trying to preserve their role as gatekeepers and consolidate control over consumers. It’s anti-competitive, plain and simple.
Worse still, when big banks like JPMorgan consolidate control, they’re able to impose political agendas. We&#8217;ve already seen how major financial institutions have embraced ideological causes and weaponized their power to &#8220;debank&#8221; disfavored individuals and businesses, usually conservative ones. Restricting access to financial data is just another tool to block the rise of independent platforms they can’t control.
These new fees will stifle innovation, suppress competition, and force Americans to depend on institutions that have prioritized politics over people.
At risk are the apps and digital currencies that give Americans the freedom to move their money, manage their budgets, invest in new ways, and protect their data from the very institutions that have spent decades abusing their trust.
That’s why Consumers’ Research is calling out JPMorgan’s tactics for what they are: predatory, monopolistic, and dangerous.
This is not what the future of banking should look like, but rather the past trying to hold on. By making it harder for outside platforms to access data, the big banks keep users locked into their own systems and interfaces. This allows them to charge higher fees, limit transparency, and maintain their control over customer relationships and financial insights.
Consumers’ Research has long warned that consolidation in the financial sector is a danger to both economic freedom and political neutrality. These new fees are another way to prevent disruptive platforms from offering alternatives that embrace consumer choice and remain free of political agendas. JPMorgan’s self-serving actions are bad for consumers and bad for America.

The GOP-led House passed a trio of bills on Thursday that are poised to have a tremendous impact on the cryptocurrency space in the United States.
Members voted <a href="https://clerk.house.gov/Votes/2025200" target="_blank" rel="noopener">308-122</a> in favor of the <a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/senate-bill/1582/text" target="_blank" rel="noopener">GENIUS Act</a>, a stablecoin regulation bill that already passed through the Senate. The legislation now heads to the White House, where President Donald Trump is expected to sign it. House lawmakers also approved the <a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/house-bill/3633/text" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Digital Asset Market Clarity Act of 2025</a>, legislation from Financial Services Chairman French Hill (R-AR) that aims to provide a &#8220;system of regulation&#8221; for digital commodity sales by the Securities and Exchange Commission and Commodity Futures Trading Commission, by a <a href="https://clerk.house.gov/Votes/2025199" target="_blank" rel="noopener">294-134</a> vote.
&#8220;The Web 3 race is here, implementing clear regulations with CLARITY and GENIUS will protect consumers and ensure U.S. leadership in digital assets,&#8221; Rep. Bryan Steil (R-WI), chairman of the Crypto Subcommittee, <a href="https://x.com/RepBryanSteil/status/1945903351083716903" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> on X.
In addition, the <a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-bill/5403/text" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act</a>, a measure that seeks to prohibit the Federal reserve banks from issuing their own digital currency or using one to implement monetary policy, prevailed in a <a href="https://clerk.house.gov/Votes/2025201" target="_blank" rel="noopener">219-210</a> vote. That bill is set to be included in the National Defense Authorization Act (<a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/senate-bill/2296/text" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NDAA</a>) as part of a <a href="https://x.com/RepAndyHarrisMD/status/1945681755559924107" target="_blank" rel="noopener">deal</a> with conservatives who held out during a procedural rule vote that <a href="https://x.com/GOPMajorityWhip/status/1945677323040354398" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lasted</a> a record-breaking nine hours and 45 minutes.
&#8220;Attaching our Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act to the NDAA will ensure unelected bureaucrats are NEVER allowed to trade Americans’ financial privacy for a CCP-style surveillance tool,&#8221; House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN) <a href="https://x.com/GOPMajorityWhip/status/1945677323040354398" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in a post on X. &#8220;[Trump] has made it clear: our legislation is a key piece of our America First agenda, and we will deliver.&#8221;
Many, but not all, Democrats voted against the bills. In fact, nearly half of them voted for the Genius Act. Those who opposed the proposals warned they would benefit a Trump family crypto venture and possibly cause a financial calamity.
The &#8220;GOP crypto bills don’t just fail to protect consumers, they greenlight Trump’s billion-dollar crypto grift and invite the next financial crisis,&#8221; read a <a href="https://x.com/RepMaxineWaters/status/1945151846433140920" target="_blank" rel="noopener">post</a> on X from Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), the ranking member of the Financial Services Committee.
A handful of House Republicans voted against the GENIUS Act, too, amid concerns about it allowing a <a href="https://x.com/RepMTG/status/1945880979949891750" target="_blank" rel="noopener">&#8220;back door&#8221;</a> to a central bank digital currency one day that could infringe upon financial privacy — if the Senate ends up not approving the Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act.
For now, Trump has an <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/strengthening-american-leadership-in-digital-financial-technology/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">executive order</a> that calls for policies that prevent a CBDC in the United States.

It seeks to create a framework for <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/white-house-gop-leaders-pledge-major-crypto-bills-in-first-100-days" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stablecoins</a>, which are significant in digital asset exchanges and pegged to stable assets such as the U.S. dollar.
“The GENIUS Act will cement U.S. dollar dominance, protect customers, drive demand for U.S. Treasuries, &amp; ensure that digital asset innovation happens in the U.S., not overseas,” Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-TN), the bill&#8217;s sponsor, <a href="https://x.com/SenatorHagerty/status/1935074302396649918" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in a post on X. &#8220;With this bill, we are one step closer to becoming the global leader in crypto.&#8221;
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced that a signing ceremony for the GENIUS Act was being planned for Friday afternoon.

Bhagavan &#8220;Doc&#8221; Antle, who grew to fame in the Netflix documentary &#8220;Tiger King,&#8221; was sentenced to 12 months in prison and was fined about $197,000 after pleading guilty to animal trafficking and money laundering.
The &#8220;Tiger King&#8221; documentary <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/review-netflix-docuseries-tiger-king-is-a-bizarre-and-fascinating-true-crime-tale?author=Frank+Camp&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=REVIEW%3A+Netflix+Docuseries+%E2%80%98Tiger+King%E2%80%99+Is+A+Bizarre+And+Fascinating+True+Crime+Tale">garnered</a> a massive audience from its debut during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdowns. During its two-season runtime, the documentary featured bouts between cult personality and gay polygamist Joseph &#8220;Joe Exotic&#8221; Maldonado-Passage and rival Carole Baskin.
Many stars of the series have been sentenced on charges ranging from animal mistreatment to falsifying wildlife records to hiring hitmen. In 2020, Maldonado-Passage was <a href="https://www.npr.org/2022/01/28/1076619186/tiger-king-joe-exotic-gets-one-year-knocked-off-his-22-year-prison-sentence">sentenced</a> to 22 years in prison, which was later reduced to 21 years upon appeal by his lawyers.
Antle owns Myrtle Beach Safari, a South Carolina wildlife reserve that offers personal encounters with endangered species such as tigers, cheetahs, and gibbons. It was through this zoo that Antle <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/doc-antle-owner-myrtle-beach-safari-sentenced-federal-wildlife-trafficking-and-money">conducted</a> illegal animal trafficking activities, which included illegally purchasing chimpanzee infants.
Antle was also involved with laundering over $500,000 in coordination with Andrew &#8220;Omar&#8221; Sawyer, which were reportedly the proceeds from an operation to illegally smuggle aliens across the southern border. Antle had attempted to launder the money by paying Myrtle Beach Safari for &#8220;construction-related services.&#8221;
Bryan Stirling, a U.S. attorney in South Carolina, said, &#8220;Doc Antle portrayed himself as a conservationist. But in reality, he was a key player in the illegal chimpanzee trade, and he laundered more than half a million dollars through a complex web of deceit.&#8221;
Sawyer&#8217;s conspiracy to launder money with Antle resulted in a sentencing of two years of probation, a fine of $185,000, and the forfeiture of a chimpanzee.
In a connected case, Shaylynn Kolwyck-Peterson pleaded guilty last month for selling a chimpanzee to Antle for $200,000 back in 2022.
Maldonado-Passage made news recently for marrying fellow inmate Jorge Flores Maldonado, a 33-year-old Mexican national, who was <a href="https://people.com/joe-exotic-dating-history-11719808" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> to be Maldonado-Passage&#8217;s sixth similar relationship, this past April. 
Flores was in prison for illegally entering the United States but was released in May. Days after his release, Flores was promptly <a href="https://people.com/joe-exotic-husband-jorge-marquez-flores-deported-to-mexico-shortly-after-release-from-prison-11737602">deported</a> by ICE. 
Flores&#8217;s deportation prompted Maldonado-Passage to appeal to President Donald Trump for both a pardon for himself and assistance in reuniting him with his husband.

The GOP-led Senate passed on Tuesday a stablecoin regulation bill that supporters argued will help the United States become the &#8220;global leader&#8221; in cryptocurrency.
A bipartisan group of 68 senators voted in favor of the <a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/senate-bill/1582/text" target="_blank" rel="noopener">GENIUS Act</a>, which prevailed after hitting a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/crypto-bill-falters-in-senate-for-now" target="_blank" rel="noopener">speed bump</a> in May before going through <a href="https://www.congress.gov/amendment/119th-congress/senate-amendment/2307" target="_blank" rel="noopener">amendments</a>. Another 30 members banded together in opposing the legislation.

Bill Hagerty (R-TN), the measure seeks to create a framework for <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/white-house-gop-leaders-pledge-major-crypto-bills-in-first-100-days" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stablecoins</a>, which are significant in digital asset exchanges and pegged to stable assets such as the U.S. dollar.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) was one of the lawmakers who voted against the bill. Sharing a Wall Street Journal article on how Walmart and Amazon are exploring their own stablecoins, she warned on Monday the legislation needed changes.
&#8220;If Congress doesn’t fix the GENIUS Act, billionaires like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos could launch stablecoins that track your purchases, exploit your data, and squeeze out competitors,&#8221; Warren <a href="https://x.com/SenWarren/status/1934686958875246824" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> on X. &#8220;These billionaires will come begging for a taxpayer bailout when it inevitably blows up.&#8221;
Warren <a href="https://x.com/SenWarren/status/1934686958875246824" target="_blank" rel="noopener">added</a>: &#8220;The GENIUS Act has a major loophole allowing Big Tech companies and major retailers to issue their own private currencies structured as stablecoins. This bill shouldn&#8217;t pass without amendments preventing these risks.&#8221;
President Donald Trump&#8217;s administration has endorsed the bill, which now heads to the Republican-controlled House.
&#8220;Recent reporting projects that stablecoins could grow into a $3.7 trillion market by the end of the decade. That scenario becomes more likely with passage of the GENIUS Act,&#8221; Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent <a href="https://x.com/SecScottBessent/status/1935027160374210573" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> on X.
&#8220;A thriving stablecoin ecosystem will drive demand from the private sector for US Treasuries, which back stablecoins. This newfound demand could lower government borrowing costs and help rein in the national debt. It could also onramp millions of new users—across the globe—to the dollar-based digital asset economy,&#8221; Bessent continued.
Insisting that it is a &#8220;win-win-win&#8221; for the private sector, the Treasury, and consumers, Bessent concluded: &#8220;These are the fruits of smart, pro-innovation legislation.&#8221;

Personal income increased by 0.8% in April, well ahead of the forecasted 0.3%, CNBC <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2025/05/30/inflation-rate-slipped-to-2point1percent-in-april-lower-than-expected-feds-preferred-gauge-shows.html#:~:text=Personal%20income%20surged%200.8%25%2C%20a,inflation%20components%2C%20increased%200.4%25.">reported</a> on Friday.
In an X post on Friday, the White House’s Rapid Response account posted a report by CNBC’s Rick Santelli in which he showed the data that reveals the 0.8% increase.

“Personal income is up eight-tenths of a percent,” Santelli states. “That is almost triple the expectations. … When you look at income for the first four months of the year, they’re powerful numbers. Up six-tenths in January, up seven-tenths in February, up a half of 1% last month, and up eight-tenths this month. This is a great four month start to any year.”
Per the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, personal income <a href="https://www.bea.gov/news/2025/personal-income-and-outlays-april-2025#:~:text=Personal%20income%20increased%20%24210.1%20billion,U.S.%20Bureau%20of%20Economic%20Analysis">increased</a> by $210.1 billion in April. Disposable personal income (DPI) increased by $189.4 billion, which is also 0.8%, and personal consumption expenditures (PCE) increased by $47.8 billion, which is 0.2%.

In spite of this, consumer spending slowed, showing just a 0.2% increase in April. This is in line with the consensus, but is significantly less than its 0.7% increase in March. Consumers also showed more wary spending habits, as April’s personal savings were $1.12 trillion and the personal saving rate was 4.7%.
“The increase in current-dollar personal income in April primarily reflected increases in government social benefits to persons and in compensation,” the Bureau <a href="https://www.bea.gov/news/2025/personal-income-and-outlays-april-2025#:~:text=Personal%20income%20increased%20%24210.1%20billion,U.S.%20Bureau%20of%20Economic%20Analysis">wrote</a>. “The $47.8 billion increase in current-dollar PCE in April reflected an increase of $55.8 billion in spending on services that was partly offset by a decrease of $8.0 billion in spending for goods.”
In his report, Santelli revealed the impressive news that “eight-tenths is the strongest month-over-month jump since May of 2021, when it was 1.9%.”
