Comedian and HBO host Bill Maher appeared taken aback when his guest, actor Michael Rapaport, revealed just how unsafe people feel in New York City — even during the daylight hours.
Rapaport joined Maher on his &#8220;Club Random&#8221; podcast, where he described a number of situations in which his wife had felt unsafe in New York City — and then told Maher that every scenario he&#8217;d described had taken place between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

&#8220;Really, like going out for lunch?&#8221; Maher asked, still apparently in disbelief.
&#8220;I&#8217;m not saying she&#8217;s f***ing shaking in her boots,&#8221; Rapaport clarified, and then described several scenes: &#8220;My wife in the last two or three years has been groped in Times Square, has had a f***ing shoe thrown at her, has been called the N-word and got proposed to on the train by a homeless person — all between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.&#8221;
&#8220;And when my wife got touched in the middle of the day coming out of a play, I&#8217;m not happy with that,&#8221; Rapaport continued. &#8220;I don&#8217;t care that you&#8217;re homeless! Don&#8217;t touch my f***ing wife! It bothered me so deeply that this happened to her, and that she&#8217;s got a shoe thrown at her &#8230;&#8221;
&#8220;Why a shoe?&#8221; Maher wanted to know.
&#8220;Because a crazy person,&#8221; Rapaport replied. &#8220;Crazy. But when you touch my wife, and my wife is violated, I get to thinking, I&#8217;m sorry that you&#8217;re mentally ill. I&#8217;m sorry that whatever you&#8217;re on, and whatever got you to this place, but you&#8217;re touching my wife at 3 p.m. at 47th and 6th. I want this person put the f*** away forever. Period! And there&#8217;s other women in New York City that also feel uncomfortable and unsafe.&#8221;
&#8220;I&#8217;m comfortable saying, &#8216;Put him under the f***ing jail.&#8217; And he should never come out — &#8217;cause God forbid he comes out and does something worse!&#8221; Rapaport concluded, saying, &#8220;It&#8217;s not cool for women to feel unsafe during the daytime in the greatest city on earth.&#8221;

Actor Michael Rapaport expressed his disdain for repeat offenders being released in New York City as a way of protesting the election of far-Left NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani.
“I’m sorry you’re a psychopath. I’m sorry you’re mentally ill. But I don’t need you walking around me. I don’t need you walking around my wife. My wife was groped in New York City in broad daylight,” the 55-year-old comedian said.
Rapaport went on to relay the story of how his wife and her friend went to see a show in the city. After they left, they were walking down the sidewalk when a man approached her and “rubbed up on her.”

“Violated my wife in New York City,” the actor seethed during a clip from his podcast that he shared on X.
“I don’t want people like that walking around my wife,” he added. “I don’t want people that have been arrested 14 times, for whatever reason, walking around my wife, walking around my kids. Nor should you, and it has nothing to do with politics.”
“Put them in a f***ing zoo,” Rapaport concluded.
The comments were filled with followers applauding the celeb, likening his rant to a red pill moment.
“Watching a liberal metamorphosis into a conservative after life happening to them is like watching a caterpillar turn into a beautiful butterfly,” one person <a href="https://x.com/harr72247/status/1966914027600441545">wrote</a>.
“I love to see Michael’s complete 180 transformation. That’s what happen[s] when you start to see things for how they are and not what you’ve been told they are,” another <a href="https://x.com/TexasTraderOne/status/1967071669689696534">said</a>.
Once an outspoken liberal and critic of Donald Trump, Rapaport, who is Jewish, has come out publicly in support of Israel following the October 7 attacks and has begun to distance himself from the Democratic Party. Besides being a pro-Israel advocate, the comedian has also spoken about crime before, filming a viral video documenting retail theft at a Rite Aid in NYC in 2022.
Days ago, Rapaport spoke out against the way many people were reacting to the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

The Democrats are in disarray, and that’s not a partisan talking point.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/democrats-flail-schumer-fails" target="_blank" rel="noopener">days in charge may be waning</a>. Polling suggests the Democrat brand is at a shocking low. Progressives keep taking the 20 side of 80/20 debates like trans women competing against biological female athletes.
And the GOP controls the White House, the Senate and the House, the latter albeit by a whisker.
Enter three Hollywood liberals who grasp their party’s sorry state. They’re rarities in this space, willing to share contrary views no matter the consequences.
They may be truth tellers, full stop. Perhaps they understand their party is making a mad dash for the electoral cliff and they want them to stop before they fall to their doom.
Take Bill Maher. He’s been a constant presence in pop culture for decades, first on ABC’s “Politically Incorrect” and now via “Real Time with Bill Maher” and the “Club Random” podcast.
And, for all of that time, he’s been a proud liberal with a dash of Libertarianism for good measure.

Maher has hated President Donald Trump from the jump and takes delight in mocking GOP figures like former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. He once <a href="https://www.hollywoodintoto.com/flashback-bill-maher-trashed-sarah-palin-family-inbred/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">mocked her family</a> as a clan of “inbred weirdos” straight out of “The Hills Have Eyes” movie that featured mutant killers.
Palin’s child has Down Syndrome.
Yet in recent years Maher has been one of the Left’s most ardent critics. He’s savaged fellow progressives on the <a href="https://www.imdb.com/news/ni64058436/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Woke Mind Virus</a>, to use a certain billionaire’s phrase.
He even sided with President Trump recently regarding the move to pull funding from Columbia University for <a href="https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2025/03/08/maher-trumps-right-to-pull-some-funds-from-columbia/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">failing to protect Jewish students</a>.
Maher regularly invites conservative guests on his “Club Random” show and recently stood up to guest Don Lemon for calling <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bill-maher-shuts-down-don-lemons-racist-comments-about-black-trump-supporters" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Black MAGA supporters irrational.</a>
Radio show titan Charlamagne Tha God also refuses to toe the party line 24/7. The host of “The Breakfast Club” radio show often clashes with the progressive groupthink, much to the shock of many Democrats.
Recently, Charlamagne Tha God questioned why his fellow Democrats were fighting to stop Team Trump from <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/charlamagne-tha-god-asks-why-anyones-raising-hell-over-gang-members-being-sent-away" target="_blank" rel="noopener">deporting dangerous illegal immigrants</a>.
“Like, there are some other deportation cases, I’m sure they could be fighting about, like folks who’ve been in this country for a long time, not committing no crimes, paying taxes, but have gotten caught up in the process,” he added. “Those are folks they should be fighting for. Why are they raising hell about a gang being deported?”

It’s a question few liberal celebrities are willing to ask. It’s one of many reasons the polls have been so cruel to modern-day Democrats.
He also defended rappers like Snoop Dogg from hardcore Leftists for performing at Trump’s second inaugural gala. You can’t savage stars for doing that while letting Democrats off the hook after they said Trump was Hitler 2.0 and a threat to democracy.
Those same politicians lined up to congratulate Trump following his 2024 electoral victory.
“We know why the rappers did what they did. We know why they’re doing it. They got paid. What’s the politicians’ excuse for normalizing Trump?”
The talker even called the “lawfare” attacks on Trump <a href="https://www.breitbart.com/entertainment/2025/01/13/charlamagne-tha-god-calls-prosecution-of-trump-pure-political-theater-ridiculous-watching-liberals-celebrate-this/">pure “theater</a>.” That’s something you’ll never hear on the late-night TV circuit or “Saturday Night Live.” It also resonates with voters across the political spectrum.
Few celebrities haunted President Trump quite like Michael Rapaport. The star of “Atypical,” “Beautiful Girls,” and many other projects used his podcast and social media to savage the president at every turn.
The <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/michael-rapaport-threatens-hog-tie-032648035.html">word “pig”</a> may be the only one suitable for family-friendly consumption.
That was then. In recent months, Rapaport has been busy attacking his own side on many fronts. 
Take <a href="https://www.hollywoodintoto.com/michael-rapaport-trump-charlottesville-lie/">the “Very Fine People” hoax</a>. The actor initially fell for it and blasted Trump via his social media platforms. He later learned the media had fed him a false narrative. He could have stayed quiet about it, but he had to speak out.
“When you see the full quote, that wasn’t what [Trump] said and I ranted on him hard for that, hard … I was like, ‘what are you talking about, man?&#8217;” Rapaport recalled.
Remember, Joe Biden launched his last presidential campaign with that lie.
How many liberal celebrities would not only do their own research on a chronic anti-Trump narrative but later go public with a mea culpa? That’s rhetorical.

The actor also has repeatedly lashed out at Hollywood liberals for staying silent on the Hamas hostage ordeal. He even starred in a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5esBxX5YoI&amp;t=26s">faux Oscars sketch</a> where he used his monologue to mock activist celebrities for standing down when they should be screaming for the hostages’ release
This all matters because the vast majority of Hollywood liberals refuse to concede their party’s current, sorry state. We’ve recently seen late-night hosts take delight in domestic terrorist attacks against Tesla dealerships, for example, just to burnish their anti-DOGE, anti-Musk bona fides.
Both Jimmy Kimmel and “The Daily Show’s” Jordan Klepper teed up images of burning Teslas while their audiences clapped in approval.
That cruelty may appease the hardcore Democratic base, but it’s surely alienating left-leaning voters and independents alike.
As a result, Democrats will double down on their deeply unpopular beliefs. They might even watch as their polling numbers droop anew.
They’d be wise to follow Maher, Charlamagne Tha God and Rapaport. The trio is trying to save fellow Democrats from themselves. Their warnings still may fall on deaf ears, meaning the 2028 election cycle could look suspiciously like 2024 for Democrats.

Comedian and actor Michael Rapaport slammed a leftist Canadian politician for encouraging lawmakers to ban him from doing stand-up comedy shows in the country.
The 54-year-old made his opinions known in a <a href="https://www.thefp.com/p/michael-rapaport-comedian-canada-ban-antisemitism">column</a> he wrote for The Free Press in which he mentioned Canada’s New Democrat Party member Heather McPherson encouraging others to protest the comedian’s performance.
McPherson referenced Rapaport’s “significant criminal history,” history of “Islamophobic speech,” and tendencies towards “inciting violence” as reasons for the proposed ban.
“We are witnessing an alarming increase in Islamophobia in Canada and globally,” she <a href="https://x.com/HMcPhersonMP/status/1895235206522818866">wrote</a> as part of a lengthy X thread shared late last month. “All Canadians deserve to feel safe in our communities. New Democrats are calling on the Liberal government to deny entry to Michael Rapaport.”

She concluded by saying, “Hate has no place in Canada,” and tagging several other members of the Canadian Parliament in the post.
Rapaport called McPherson’s reasoning the “craziest campaign against me yet.” 
He also responded to all the parliament member’s charges, writing, “I have no criminal history other than calling my ex-girlfriend Lili Taylor too many times back in 1997. (I’m not ashamed; I was in love). I have no outstanding warrants. I don’t have any parking tickets. As far as racist Islamophobia, my only phobia currently is of radical jihadists. I’ll admit: I have a phobia of anybody who wants to kill, hurt, or dehumanize Jews.”
Rapaport continued, “The irony is that McPherson, in her post, asserted that ‘hate has no place in Canada’—except, of course, when hate is directed toward Jews, which Canada apparently has no problem with,” he wrote, linking to a report which found a “670 percent increase in antisemitic incidents in Canada since October 7, 2023.”
“Rather than call attention to that—or the horrific antisemitism sweeping her own country—this member of Parliament is spending her capital making pleas to keep me out, rather than fixing whatever is going wrong in her own backyard,&#8221; he wrote. 
Rapaport noted that his shows were still going on as planned later this week. “Luckily, at least for now, it seems [Canadian Prime Minister Justin] Trudeau and his party aren’t listening. I’ll still be crossing the border this week,” he concluded.
“If you’re reading this, Heather, I have front-row seats reserved for you and the New Democrats. That’s a genuine offer.”

Comedian <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/michael-rapaport" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Michael Rapaport</a> blasted “Saturday Night Live” for remaining silent about the Israeli hostages who remain in captivity nearly 500 days after the October 7 Hamas terrorist attack.
In a video <a href="https://x.com/MichaelRapaport/status/1882811333458194626">posted</a> to X on Friday, the 54-year-old actor pointed out how “SNL” hasn’t been afraid to tackle things like the accusations of physical abuse by women against Sean &#8220;Diddy&#8221; Combs, but have yet to mention the words &#8220;Jews,&#8221; &#8220;hostages,&#8221; &#8220;Israel,&#8221; or &#8220;kidnapped.&#8221;
Rapaport talked about how Dave Chappelle hosted the <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/dave-chappelle-donald-trump-snl-monologue-rcna188333">show</a> the weekend ahead of President Donald Trump’s inauguration and called on Trump to “not forget your humanity, and please have empathy for displaced people, whether they’re in the Palisades or Palestine.”
“And I was thinking, Dave Chappelle, you did not mention, &#8216;or if they are being held hostage in Palestine,'&#8221; Rapaport said. “But ‘Saturday Night Live’ you pride yourself on being this anti-establishment, punk rock, cutting edge, rock and roll, against the man, establishment of comedy.”
“This is the second time in 470-plus days you’ve had one of your hosts mention or say something about free Palestine … but not one time in 470-plus days, not one of you motherf***ers says Israel, Jewish or the word hostages,” he added.

“You are upset about Elon Musk, [but] you’re not upset about the fact that seven Americans are still being held hostage,” the actor blasted, pointing out how AOC went to Columbia University “yucking it up” with protestors who called to “globalize the Intifada.”
“And you’re worried about Elon Musk, you f***ing clown…” he added, telling AOC if she&#8217;s really worried about Jews, she should go back to Columbia university and “chastise the motherf***ers who are saying &#8216;globalize the Intifada,&#8217; which means kill f***ing Jews. Start violence against f***ing Jews.”
“You’re yucking it up up there, AOC, and you got nothing to say. You’re freaked out about Elon Musk,” Rapaport continued, telling AOC if she’s really worried about Jewish people, she should say things like, “Free the hostages,&#8221; or she should &#8220;condemn Hamas.”
The comments come following the release of the first three hostages under Israel and Hamas’ hostage and ceasefire deal. Actor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/actor-michael-rapaport-signals-shift-on-trump-after-years-of-fervent-opposition-my-political-views-have-changed">Michael Rapaport</a> torched California Gov. Gavin Newsom for the Los Angeles wildfires after Newsom turned his focus on making the state “Trump-proof” ahead of President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration.
In a lengthy rant on <a href="https://x.com/MichaelRapaport/status/1879152133582598389">X</a>, the 54-year-old actor called on Newsom to resign and said the governor was done in the state following the devastation of the three fires in Southern California.
“You thought you were going to be president,” Rapaport blasted. “You’re never, ever, ever gonna be president, Gavin with the good hair. I don’t care how slicked back it is … little Nancy [Pelosi’s] little nephew.”
&#8220;Gavin with the good hair, you have overseen two of the most important cities in California and you’ve ran them, nose-dived into the ground,” he added. “San Francisco is apocalyptic. The Hollywood star said Newsom has been talking about making the state “Trump-proof” when he should’ve been &#8220;fire-proofing California.”
&#8220;You’re talking about Trump this, Trump that. He’s not even president,&#8221; Rapaport blasted. “This is on you. This is on you. You’re the governor … you’re done.&#8221;
The comments were the latest from <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/completely-unacceptable-celebrities-slam-ca-leadership-as-fires-rage" target="_blank" rel="noopener">celebrities who have been blowing up</a> on Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass following the multiple fires that have nearly destroyed whole towns due to days of out-of-control blazes.
Actress <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/patricia-heaton">Patricia Heaton</a> recently called out both Newsom and Bass for the devastation in L.A.
“We have a mayor who cut the budget of the fire department in California by over $17 million dollars,” Heaton said in a video posted on <a href="https://x.com/PatriciaHeaton/status/1877112025207419073">X</a>. “Fire is the biggest hazard in Los Angeles. Why would you cut that budget? There was no water in the fire hydrants in the Palisades.”
“The people running the show just decimated [CA]. Drugs, homelessness with mentally ill people on the streets, crime … taxes. What do you pay all these taxes for to see your neighborhood go up in smoke?” she added.
“It is so enraging,” the actress continued. “That they took one of the most beautiful states, maybe the most beautiful state in the union and just continue to destroy it. Gavin Newsom standing there with his hands in his pockets … I just really feel for everybody there.”
