A new player on the U.S. women’s national soccer team (USWNT) apologized on Thursday after facing pressure from people on social media, including former USWNT player Megan Rapinoe, for reposting a clip of a Christian man who spoke on his past experiences with same-sex attraction and transgenderism.
Korbin Albert, a 20-year-old midfielder who played for Notre Dame, <a href="https://twitter.com/tonaliana/status/1773139822858719624?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1773139822858719624%7Ctwgr%5E9786f621f97252cda4bc7f8b7974937bad3c4660%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailymail.co.uk%2Fsport%2Ffootball%2Farticle-13251253%2FUSWNT-midfielder-Korbin-Albert-apologizes-Megan-Rapinoe-criticism-backlash-admits-post-anti-LGBTQ-content-insensitive-hurtful.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sparked outrage</a> after she shared a <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@wareagle25/video/7298398026119318814?_r=1&amp;_t=8l2YLz7GWCf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">clip</a> on her TikTok account that showed the Christian man, who previously thought he might be a woman, telling his church that he stopped taking hormone treatment after expressing his faith in Jesus Christ, The Daily Mail <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-13251253/USWNT-midfielder-Korbin-Albert-apologizes-Megan-Rapinoe-criticism-backlash-admits-post-anti-LGBTQ-content-insensitive-hurtful.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. After Albert shared the clip, Rapinoe — who is a lesbian and staunch LGBT advocate — posted what appeared to be a response to Albert on her Instagram story without naming the young soccer player.
“To the people who want to hide behind ‘my beliefs’ I would just ask one question, are you making any time of space safer, more inclusive, more whole, any semblance of better, bringing the best out of anyone?” Rapinoe wrote. “… because if you aren&#8217;t all you believe in is hate. And Kids are literally killing themselves because of this hate. Wake TF up! Yours Truly, #15.”
Some of Albert’s teammates on the U.S. women’s soccer team shared Rapinoe’s post, including USWNT captain Becky Sauerbrunn, according to the Mail.
Albert — who now wears #15, Rapinoe’s old number, for USWNT — posted a statement on Thursday, apologizing for her “actions on social media” and promising “to do better.”
“I want to sincerely apologize for my actions on social media. Liking and sharing posts that are offensive, insensitive and hurtful was immature and disrespectful which was never my intent,” Albert wrote. “I&#8217;m really disappointed in myself and am deeply sorry for the hurt that I have caused to my teammates, other players, fans, friends and anyone who was offended.”
“I truly believe that everyone should feel safe and respected everywhere and on all playing fields. I know my actions have not lived up to that and for that I sincerely apologize,” she added. “It&#8217;s an honor and a privilege to get to play this sport and on the world stage and I promise to do better.”

Controversial soccer star <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/megan-rapinoe-calls-playing-for-u-s-team-worst-job-in-the-world" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Megan Rapinoe</a> mocked Christians during a recent podcast addressing remarks she made about her soccer injury being &#8220;proof&#8221; God doesn&#8217;t exist.
In her final game before retirement in November, Rapinoe suffered an injury to her achilles. “I’m not a religious person or anything and if there was a God, this is proof that there isn’t,&#8221; she told the media in a post-game interview, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/proof-that-god-doesnt-exist-rapinoe-after-injury-in-her-last-game" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Wire</a> previously reported.
Addressing the remarks on the &#8220;Pablo Torre Finds Out&#8221; podcast, Rapinoe mocked Christians for being upset about the comments. &#8220;Somebody needs to check on the Christians. They’re not okay,&#8221; Rapinoe snarked, <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/sports/megan-rapinoe-says-somebody-needs-check-christians-after-criticism-proof-god-remark" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to Fox News. &#8220;They also missed the whole joke, but okay.&#8221;

Rapinoe, referring to herself as a &#8220;controversial figure,&#8221; went on to say that some people celebrated her injury, and those people are in a &#8220;special place in hell.&#8221;

Rapinoe has indeed been a controversial figure throughout her soccer career. When she was playing on the U.S. women&#8217;s national team, she often led anthem-kneeling before games and frequently sounded off on Left-wing causes. She also curiously turned her back on girls and women-only sports.
Notably, in 2022, Rapinoe <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/megan-rapinoe-tells-girls-parents-to-suck-it-up-over-trans-athletes-your-kids-volleyball-team-just-isnt-that-important?%3Futm_source=twitter&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=dwtwitter" target="_blank" rel="noopener">mocked girls’ sports</a>, specifically girls’ volleyball, while advocating for the inclusion of boys and men who identify as transgender in female sports. The athlete <a href="https://time.com/6188583/megan-rapinoe-equal-pay-title-ix-transgender-sports-bans/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> Time magazine at the time that female athletes and their parents need to suck it up over advantages male athletes have over girls and asserted that she&#8217;s “100% supportive” of “trans inclusion” in girls’ sports.
Dismissing concerns about fairness, Rapinoe said that people “need to understand that sports is not the most important thing in life.”
“I would also encourage everyone out there who is afraid someone’s going to have an unfair advantage over their kid to really take a step back and think what are we actually talking about here,” she told Time. “We’re talking about people’s lives. I’m sorry, your kid’s high school volleyball team just isn’t that important.”

In the Netflix documentary &#8220;Under Pressure: The U.S. Women&#8217;s World Cup Team,&#8221; the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/megan-rapinoe-is-the-worst" target="_blank" rel="noopener">liberal activist</a> — who retired from soccer this year — said that having to hear from critics was too much on top of the normal pressures of the job, the <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/sports/megan-rapinoe-calls-uswnt-worst-job-in-the-world" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Washington Examiner</a> reported.

After reputedly tearing her Achilles tendon in the last game of her professional career, U.S. Soccer star Megan Rapinoe, 38, declared that the injury was proof that God does not exist.
Rapinoe was playing in the NWSL Final for OL Reign against Gotham FC on Saturday night when she injured herself in the third minute of the game.
“I&#8217;m not a religious person or anything and if there was a God, this is proof that there isn&#8217;t. This is f***ed up,” Rapinoe said in her post-game interview, adding, “For sure, I tore my Achilles,” describing the moment of the injury as a “huge pop.”
“I wasn&#8217;t overly emotional about it,” Rapinoe said. “I mean, f***ing yeeted my Achilles in the sixth minute in my last game ever in the literal championship game. &#8230; I guess I just rode until the wheels came right off &#8230; I&#8217;m just a NARP, a normal-ass regular person, having to do rehab which is f***ing devastating.”

In September, Rapinoe refused to sing the national anthem at the last game she played as part of the U.S. Women’s Soccer team.
As far back as September 2016, Rapinoe refused to stand during the national anthem, taking a knee instead. “Quite honestly, being gay, I have stood with my hand over my heart during the national anthem and felt like I haven&#8217;t had my liberties protected,” she stated.
In May 2019, Rapinoe told <a href="https://sports.yahoo.com/megan-rapinoe-is-a-walking-protest-162416461.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Yahoo Sports</a>, “I&#8217;ll probably never put my hand over my heart. I’ll probably never sing the national anthem again,” boasting that she was &#8220;a walking protest when it comes to the Trump administration,” because of &#8220;everything I stand for.”
She added, “I feel like it&#8217;s kind of defiance in and of itself to just be who I am and wear the jersey, and represent it. Because I&#8217;m as talented as I am, I get to be here, you don&#8217;t get to tell me if I can be here or not. So it&#8217;s kind of a good ‘F you&#8217; to any sort of inequality or bad sentiments that the [Trump] administration might have towards people who don&#8217;t look exactly like him. Rapinoe Says Injury In Her Last Game Is ‘Proof’ That God Doesn’t Exist

Two-time Olympic gold medalist Carli Lloyd recently explained why she stood for the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/national-anthem" target="_blank" rel="noopener">national anthem</a> as the rest of the U.S. soccer team took a knee during the bronze-medal match of the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, and further criticized former teammate Megan Rapinoe for her &#8220;distracting&#8221; kneeling stunt.
Lloyd, a legend in women’s soccer, retired in 2021. During her career, the former striker was a major player in securing two World Cup championships, two Olympic golds, and was twice named FIFA Player of the Year.
“In that moment, we were kneeling — it was right before kickoff, so it wasn’t necessarily like a protest per se, but I guess everybody in the English Premier league was just taking a knee before kickoff,&#8221; Lloyd <a href="https://justwomenssports.com/reads/carli-lloyd-megan-rapinoe-uswnt-kneeling-protest-2023/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">explained</a> to CBS Sports, earlier this month. &#8220;So we had done it every game, and I knew that was going to be my last world championship game, so I wanted to stand.&#8221;
The soccer star said she was &#8220;sure&#8221; her decision to be the only player to stand for the anthem communicated something to viewers, and added, “I just thought that, we had done enough of the kneeling, and I just wanted to stand at my last world championship game.”
Lloyd also took on Rapinoe for kneeling during 2016 games, which she said was a distraction for the team.
“I had conversations with Megan [Rapinoe] — like, this isn’t a personal thing,&#8221; the athlete said. &#8220;What she’s doing, it was distracting our team, it was distracting others to play.&#8221;
&#8220;I was a captain at that time as well, so I said to her, it’s not to dampen what you’re trying to achieve with it &#8212; it just became, everything was focused on Megan kneeling and nobody was talking about the reasoning why, is what I was trying to get at,&#8221; Lloyd explained. “And so I had conversations with Megan during that. And every game we rolled up to, it was the camera to her, but no one’s talking about actually what the messaging was about, it was just, she’s kneeling and no one else is kneeling.”

This summer, Lloyd, newly retired, criticized the U.S. women&#8217;s team for dancing and smiling after barely advancing at the World Cup with a 0-0 tie against Portugal, thanks in large part to the goalpost blocking a would-be goal for Portugal.
“There’s a difference between being respectful of the fans and saying hello to your family,” she blasted, <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/08/01/carli-lloyd-doubles-down-on-uswnt-2023-world-cup-criticism/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to the New York Post. “But to be dancing, to be smiling — I mean, the player of the match was that post. You were lucky to not be going home right now.”
“I spoke up in that room, and I told them that you can’t take anything for granted — you have to work for everything that you get,” Lloyd said she told the women’s team.
“I just talked about what the mentality of this team has been about and passed down from generation to generation,” the athlete continued. “But the problem is when you win, and you get things, winning has taken on a different meaning. It is no longer we want to win because we want to win. No, we want everything that comes with winning, and we think we can just roll out and win games.”
“Teams see that,&#8221; Lloyd added. &#8220;They see the arrogance in the U.S. and see that they’re not this unstoppable team. They see that they’re able to be broken down and beaten.”
And last year, Lloyd criticized the degrading &#8220;culture&#8221; of the national team since 2015.
“The culture for me is what the culture has been on the national team since the inception,” she <a href="https://www.insider.com/carli-lloyd-uswnt-culture-criticism-not-about-race-or-gender-2022-3" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> Insider. “All of those players, they brought a fight. Chief executive Martin Waters said that, &#8220;Despite everyone&#8217;s best endeavors, it&#8217;s [woke initiatives have] not been enough to carry the day.&#8221;

Executives hope by making this move it will improve the company&#8217;s earnings, putting it closer to the $7.5 billion it earned in 2020 in annual sales, <a href="https://www.cnn.com/style/why-victorias-secret-is-bringing-sexy-back-bof/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CNN</a> noted.
The company said while the move to push LGBTQ identities was favored by critics, it didn&#8217;t equal better sales. The brand is projecting revenue of $6.2 billion this fiscal year, which is down 5% from the previous year, and 15% from 2020.
Over the last two years, Victoria&#8217;s Secret ditched its glitzy annual Victoria&#8217;s Secret Fashion Show — and sexualized ad campaigns with VS Angel models — that made people like Gisele Bundchen, Heidi Klum and Adriana Lima famous among so many others.
Instead, it said the company would push a more &#8220;inclusive&#8221; lingerie campaign, featuring liberal activist soccer star Megan Rapinoe, trans-identifying male model Valentina Sampaio, plus-size models and others.
In 2021, activist <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/10/18/victorias-secret-ditches-wokeness-over-sexiness-after-sales-drop/?utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=nypost&amp;utm_source=twitter" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rapinoe</a> called out the company, claiming that before its woke push, the company had sent out a &#8220;really harmful&#8221; message that was &#8220;patriarchal, sexist, viewing not just what it meant to be sexy but what the clothes were trying to accomplish through a male lens and through what men desired.&#8221;

American journalists, and other sentient pustules on the goat-like buttocks of Satan, are absolutely furious with conservatives because conservatives are mocking the U.S. women’s soccer team after the team’s hilariously humiliating loss to Mesopotamia or Sweden or some absurd backwater like that. Conservative reaction to the American team’s comical downfall ranged from startled surprise that a soccer match had been going on — to startled surprise that anyone from a great country like the United States would stoop to playing a crap-hole time-waster like soccer — to startled surprise that WOMEN would play soccer when they should be doing something useful or entertaining — to uncontrollable laughter that the women’s team had lost before conservatives were even aware they were playing whatever it was they were playing which we can’t remember because it was soccer.
Now for everyone who had something better to do than pay attention to soccer, perhaps I should  explain. &#8230; I’m sorry, I misread that sentence, let me start again. For everyone — who had something better to do than pay attention to soccer — let me explain. It turns out there actually is or maybe once was a U.S. Women’s soccer team and they actually did set a record by losing the Women’s World Cup before any of us knew such a thing existed. This amusingly public graveyard spin of spectacular abasement occurred when Megan Rapinoe — an ill-mannered and unpleasant anti-American loudmouth — missed a shot so easy that anyone could have made it if anyone cared enough about soccer to waste time kicking a ball that any self-respecting American would have picked up and thrown with the hands God gave him.
Now, to be fair to the American News media and other wing-ed spawns of the dark night of western moral collapse, conservatives did seem to take some pleasure in the hitherto unheard-of American team’s pricelessly ignominious defeat. As one conservative commentator put it, “Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Ha ha ha. Ha. Ha ha.”
But to look at it from a different angle than the media’s — let’s say the angle of decent and honest human beings — there were some ways in which the American women’s soccer team had been kind of alienating to patriots and religious people and ensouled life forms and other entities who otherwise couldn’t care less about soccer.

For instance, Megan Rapinoe — an ill-mannered and unpleasant anti-American loudmouth — had shown disrespect to her home country in the presence of foreigners as when she knelt during the American national anthem while playing against Thailand, whose players did not kneel during the Thailand national anthem because if they had, they would have been arrested and tortured before disappearing altogether. Conversely, Megan Rapinoe — an ill-mannered and unpleasant anti-American loudmouth — wrote a book about the experience and was lauded as a hero — which is almost exactly like being arrested and tortured except for the fact that you’re not arrested or tortured because you’re an American so stand up when the anthem is played, you miserably spoiled little weasel-woman.
Miss Rapinoe — an ill-mannered and unpleasant anti-American loudmouth — also ran a successful campaign to get women soccer players equal pay for doing work that’s equal to men soccer players except for the fact that it makes less money. So essentially, the women’s team is now being supported with money earned by the men’s team, which would be fine if the women’s team would at least keep house for the men’s team and then have sex with them instead of wasting their time losing at soccer.
Now I must admit that some conservative mockery of the women’s soccer team’s laughable loss was rather harsh. Like when I said that if the men’s team is supporting the women, the women could at least have sex with them — that was a little harsh. But on the other hand, the harshness of that remark was balanced by the fact that it was almost as hilarious as watching Megan Rapinoe — an ill-mannered and unpleasant anti-American loudmouth — lose the match because she shoots like a girl.
So all in all, I think we can come away from this controversy with the following lesson: If you’re an ill-mannered and unpleasant anti-American weasel-woman, don’t disrespect the flag or you could be punished by being forced to play soccer. Then you’ll really have something to complain about.

The Daily Wire editor emeritus Ben Shapiro offered his thoughts on <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/07/08/sports/soccer/megan-rapinoe-retirement-world-cup.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">retiring</a> women&#8217;s soccer star Megan Rapinoe and her less-than stellar performance at the World Cup — which resulted in a loss to Sweden and an early exit from the competition.
At particular issue for most was a penalty kick — which Rapinoe whiffed, handing Sweden the win — and the striker&#8217;s awkward response to the loss, which appeared to at least initially be laughter.
Conservatives <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/u-s-womens-soccer-eliminated-from-world-cup-in-earliest-exit-in-team-history" target="_blank" rel="noopener">mocked</a> the outspoken player — who is best known outside of soccer circles for her blue hair, her protest of the American national anthem, and demands for &#8220;equal pay&#8221; despite the women&#8217;s team delivering <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/female-co-hosts-tag-team-don-lemon-for-daring-to-defend-mens-soccer-team" target="_blank" rel="noopener">far less market value</a> than the men&#8217;s.
&#8220;All righty. So Megan Rapinoe, one of most irritating people on planet Earth,&#8221; Shapiro said by way of introduction. &#8220;She had an opportunity to push the United States women&#8217;s national soccer team into the next round. Now, she&#8217;s most famous for having blue hair and also for really hating America. I mean, the national anthem is bad and America is a deeply sexist and racist place, even though they&#8217;re paying her way too much money to play a sport no one has ever watched, except once every four years when we all pretend to be interested in women&#8217;s soccer and all the rest of it.&#8221;
&#8220;Well, Rapinoe apparently had a penalty shot and she missed and the United States lost and they got booted by Sweden. And bizarrely enough, she started kind of laughing and smiling after she missed the shot,&#8221; Shapiro continued. &#8220;And she didn&#8217;t miss by a little, she missed by like a lot.&#8221;
Shapiro went on to note that he didn&#8217;t really fault her for having a &#8220;weird&#8221; initial reaction, saying that people often handle horrible news in ways that seem strange in the moment.
&#8220;So I&#8217;m not going to blame her for like laughing and then crying. People do react in weird ways to bad situations. If you&#8217;ve ever had to tell somebody truly horrible news, you don&#8217;t know what to do,&#8221; he said. &#8220;So I get that.&#8221;
&#8220;The part about Megan Rapinoe that is annoying is that she&#8217;s Megan Rapinoe,&#8221; he continued, pointing to her postgame interview and the fact that after playing and winning in international competition, the part of her career that stood out most was scoring a point for &#8220;equal pay.&#8221;
Shapiro concluded with his final assessment of Rapinoe, saying the real problem wasn&#8217;t what she did in her last World Cup appearance — no matter how dismal that may have been — but who she was as a person.
&#8220;Again, the problem with Megan Rapinoe is not that she missed a penalty shot. A lot of people miss penalty shots. The problem is not that she reacted weirdly. When that happens, when bad stuff happens, bad stuff happens,&#8221; he explained. &#8220;The problem with Megan Rapinoe, is that she&#8217;s kind of a terrible person and that she&#8217;s spent her entire career pressing for the idea that America is a terrible, horrible place that has made her extraordinarily wealthy and famous for playing a sport that no one cares about worldwide.&#8221;
&#8220;So that&#8217;s — that&#8217;s that. And we bid a not particularly fond farewell to Megan Rapinoe. Don&#8217;t let the door hit you on the way out.&#8221;

The United States Women’s National Team (USWNT) has been eliminated from the FIFA Women’s World Cup after losing in a penalty shootout to Sweden — marking the earliest exit in history for the team. 
Sweden beat the United States in the round of 16 following 120 minutes of play and a dramatic penalty shootout in which the video assistant referee <a href="https://www.cnn.com/sport/live-news/uswnt-sweden-womens-world-cup-knockout/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">confirmed</a> a shot by Sweden’s Lina Hurtig did cross the line — shocking American players and fans who thought it was saved by the American goalkeeper. The USWNT has won the tournament four times, more than any other national team, and a win this year would have marked the team’s third consecutive championship. 
“We want to express our gratitude to the fans and supporters who have stood by our team. Your unwavering support means a lot to us, and we appreciate your dedication,” a USWNT <a href="https://twitter.com/USWNT/status/1688174183178752000/photo/1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a> posted to X said. “Our goal remains the same, to win. We are committed to surpassing the standard we helped to create and we will rise to meet the challenge.”

The American women were dominant throughout much of the first 90 minutes of regulation and the two 15-minute halves of extra time, with <a href="https://www.foxsports.com/stories/soccer/womens-world-cup-2023-top-plays-sweden-united-states" target="_blank" rel="noopener">more shots</a> on goal. When neither side was able to gain the advantage in 30 minutes of extra time, the game went into a penalty shootout, where Sweden was able to win with five goals compared to four for the U.S. The U.S. has at least made the semifinals in all previous women&#8217;s World Cups, <a href="https://www.cnn.com/sport/live-news/uswnt-sweden-womens-world-cup-knockout/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to CNN. 
Players Megan Rapinoe, Sophia Smith, and Kelly O’Hara all <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/sports/live-blog/usa-sweden-live-updates-womens-world-cup-soccer-news-results-rcna98387" target="_blank" rel="noopener">missed</a> their penalty kicks, securing the win for Sweden, which advanced to the quarterfinals and will face Japan. Rapinoe is a controversial player who previously <a href="https://www.cnn.com/sport/live-news/uswnt-sweden-womens-world-cup-knockout/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> she would retire at the end of the 2023 National Women’s Soccer League season, and this could have been her last game with the national team, CNN notes.

Rapinoe, a forward, <a href="https://time.com/6293102/megan-rapinoe-world-cup-2023-interview-retirement/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> Time Magazine last month that she would “absolutely” support a man who claims he is a woman to play on the USWNT and said people like Dave Chappelle making jokes about transgender issues “directly leads to violence.”
The women’s team struggled to stay alive during the tournament, nearly losing to Portugal during the group stage, which could have sent them home. They survived and were able to advance to the round of 16 by tying Portugal.

“[USWNT], you made this sport matter,” first lady Jill Biden <a href="https://twitter.com/FLOTUS/status/1688163560470319104" target="_blank" rel="noopener">posted</a> to X after the loss. “Today, you inspired us with your grit and determination. We are proud of you. Always remember that you encourage women and girls everywhere to show up and fight for their dreams.”  
Striker Alex Morgan said the loss felt “like a bad dream,” adding, &#8220;I feel like we dominated, but it doesn’t matter. At the end of the day, we’re going home. It’s the highs and lows of the sport of soccer. So yeah, it just doesn’t feel great.”
The American soccer team had been heavily criticized throughout the tournament, which is taking place in Australia and New Zealand, for its displays during the national anthem, in which only a few players appeared to be singing before each match. The majority of the American players stood silent with their hands away from their hearts. 
Megyn Kelly, host of &#8220;The Megyn Kelly Show&#8221; podcast, <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/08/02/megyn-kelly-slams-uswnt-as-morons-who-are-poisoned-by-megan-rapinoe/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">blamed</a> Rapinoe for the women’s team display during the national anthem, saying she “poisoned” the entire team against the U.S. and said she wasn’t rooting for them. 
“They won’t sing the national anthem, half of them won’t put their hands over their hearts, even the ones who are singing are half-a**ing it,” Kelly said.

USA Soccer’s Megan Rapinoe mocked opponents of men competing in women’s sports, calling their concern “bulls***.”
Rapinoe attacked comedian Dave Chappelle, tennis legend Martina Navratilova, and ESPN’s Sage Steele in her diatribe from an <a href="https://time.com/6293102/megan-rapinoe-world-cup-2023-interview-retirement/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">interview with TIME</a>.
 “We as a country are trying to legislate away people’s full humanity,” Rapinoe snapped. “It’s particularly frustrating when women’s sports is weaponized. Oh, now we care about fairness? Now we care about women’s sports? That’s total bulls***. And show me all the trans people who are nefariously taking advantage of being trans in sports. It’s just not happening.”
“The most amazing thing about sports is that you play and you’re playing with other people, and you’re having fun and you’re being physically active,” she preached. “We’re putting this all through the lens of competition and winning. But we’re talking about people’s lives. That’s where we have to start.&#8221;
“I don’t want to mince words about it,” she carped. “Dave Chappelle making jokes about trans people directly leads to violence, whether it’s verbal or otherwise, against trans people. When Martina or Sage or whoever are talking about this, people aren’t hearing it just in the context of elite sports. They’re saying, ‘The rest of my life, this is how I’m going to treat trans people.’”
Asked if she would embrace a biological man identifying as a woman on the U.S. women’s soccer team, even if a biological woman lost her place to him, Rapinoe declared, “Absolutely,” adding, “‘You’re taking a ‘real’ woman’s place,’ that’s the part of the argument that’s still extremely transphobic. I see trans women as real women. What you’re saying automatically in the argument—you’re sort of telling on yourself already—is you don’t believe these people are women. Therefore, they’re taking the other spot. I don’t feel that way.”
In 2022, President Biden awarded Rapinoe the highest civilian honor in the U.S., the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
In March, Rapinoe ripped H.R. 734, the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act.
H.R. 734, which wanted to ban transgender-identifying males from competing in female sports, stated that “sex shall be recognized based solely on a person’s reproductive biology and genetics at birth.”
“Today, politicians in DC are claiming to ‘protect women&#8217;s sports’ by pushing a trans &amp; intersex sports ban,” Rapinoe tweeted. “Call your Congressional rep today to say women&#8217;s sports need protection from unequal pay, sexual abuse &amp; lack of resources, NOT from trans kids.”
In the <a href="https://www.si.com/sports/2023/04/10/sue-bird-megan-rapinoe-among-40-athletes-letter-opposing-federal-anti-trans-sports-ban" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letter</a> to House legislators considering the bill, 40 athletes, including Rapinoe, wrote, “Our deepest hope is that transgender and intersex kids will never have to feel the isolation, exclusion and othering that H.R. 734 is seeking to enshrine into law.”

&#8220;I also think that just calling it a crime is taking it one step further, and that&#8217;s the scary part, is now it&#8217;s not just saying, &#8216;Oh, this is wrong,&#8217; we&#8217;re criminalizing,&#8221; she added. &#8220;It&#8217;s very much the Left&#8217;s disposition to take dissenting viewpoints and criminalize them.&#8221;
Arnolt went on to describe Thomas, a biological male who identifies as transgender and competed on the University of Pennsylvania&#8217;s women&#8217;s swim team, as the &#8220;biggest bigot that I have encountered in recent times because [Thomas] is forcing [the swimmer&#8217;s] own beliefs onto other people and saying that if you don&#8217;t believe in this, then you&#8217;re a hateful person.&#8221;
&#8220;You [Thomas] were a mediocre athlete in terms of male competition, and then you decided that you wanted to jump up the ladder and enter into the women&#8217;s competition,&#8221; she added. &#8220;You are built differently than a woman.&#8221;
&#8220;Anyone who tries to make the argument that there is a gender spectrum, you can believe whatever you want, but science will tell you, the DNA will tell you, there was a man and there was a woman,&#8221; Arnolt continued. &#8220;I don&#8217;t care how you want to identify; at ground zero, that&#8217;s who you are. I find it offensive as a woman when a man decides that just because they have decided to live their life and identify differently, that now they can enter into a space that belongs to women that they have fought so hard for and just completely obliterate the success and opportunities that they should have.&#8221;

The broadcaster felt similar about Rapinoe, who she blasted for supporting the rights of biological males who identify as transgender to participate in women&#8217;s sports.
&#8220;Suddenly she&#8217;s turning around after she retires from playing for the national team and says, &#8216;Yeah, I totally I totally believe that males should be able to play with women,'&#8221; the sports reporter said of Rapinoe.
&#8220;She&#8217;s promoted equality and women&#8217;s rights and the ability to be able to share in their success, that is almost completely the opposite to what she&#8217;s put forth,&#8221; Arnolt added.

Adriana McLamb, a former Division I volleyball player and activist for girls&#8217; and women&#8217;s sports, hit back at U.S. soccer star <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/megan-rapinoe" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Megan Rapinoe</a>.
Rapinoe last year <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/megan-rapinoe-tells-girls-parents-to-suck-it-up-over-trans-athletes-your-kids-volleyball-team-just-isnt-that-important?%3Futm_source=twitter&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=dwtwitter" target="_blank" rel="noopener">mocked girls&#8217; sports</a>, specifically girls&#8217; volleyball, while advocating for the inclusion of biological boys and men in female sports.
&#8220;I think it&#8217;s actually kind of absurd because we do care, especially as a volleyball player,&#8221; McLamb <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/former-college-volleyball-player-hits-back-soccer-star-megan-rapinoe-absurd-stance-trans-athletes" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> on Fox &amp; Friends, rebuffing Rapinoe&#8217;s commentary. &#8220;We very much do care about your daughter&#8217;s high school volleyball team.&#8221;
The athlete-turned-coach said that the inclusion of males in girls&#8217; and women&#8217;s sports is not only unfair, but proving to be &#8220;unsafe.&#8221; McLamb referenced high school athlete <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/i-still-suffer-high-school-volleyball-star-spiked-in-face-by-trans-player-describes-her-horrific-injuries" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Payton McNabb</a>, who was seriously hurt in a game when a biological male spiked the ball at her face.
&#8220;Especially in the case of Payton McNabb, who actually testified this week in North Carolina, who is severely concussed and injured by a biological man on the other side of a net,&#8221; McLamb said. &#8220;So we very much do care because this is not just about it being unfair for female athletes, but we&#8217;re getting to the point that&#8217;s unsafe.&#8221;
&#8220;I think it&#8217;s common sense,&#8221; the athlete continued. &#8220;In the sport of volleyball, [in] the position I play … the male side is an average of over six feet tall. I&#8217;m five-four. I would never be able to compete against a biological male.&#8221;
&#8220;There&#8217;s reasons why the net is higher,&#8221; she added. &#8220;There&#8217;s a difference in baseball and softball fields. And there&#8217;s a reason Title IX was fought so, so hard for 50 years ago, so we had these separate categories, so we can all play on a fair playing field.&#8221;
Rapinoe <a href="https://time.com/6188583/megan-rapinoe-equal-pay-title-ix-transgender-sports-bans/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> Time magazine last year that female athletes and their parents need to suck it up over advantages biologically male transgender athletes might have over girls.

The forward said she&#8217;s “100% supportive” of “trans inclusion” in girls&#8217; sports, dismissing concerns about fairness while emphasizing that people “need to understand that sports is not the most important thing in life.”
Rapinoe also argued that high-level sports are all about “regulation,” which the athlete apparently believes can erase trans athletes’ advantages. A recent <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/study-trans-women-still-have-athletic-advantage-over-women-after-year-of-hormone-therapy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">study</a> published in the <a href="https://bjsm.bmj.com/content/early/2020/11/06/bjsports-2020-102329.full?ijkey=yjlCzZVZFRDZzHz&amp;keytype=ref" target="_blank" rel="noopener">British Journal of Sports Medicine</a> suggests that’s not true.
“I would also encourage everyone out there who is afraid someone’s going to have an unfair advantage over their kid to really take a step back and think what are we actually talking about here,” the 37-year-old said. “We’re talking about people’s lives. I’m sorry, your kid’s high school volleyball team just isn’t that important.”
