A leaked list of donors to Media Matters reveals that the self-proclaimed &#8220;media watchdog&#8221; is funded by some of America’s largest Democratic donors.
Media Matters, which is not required to disclose its donors due to its designation as a charity, appears to have accidentally identified five of its largest donors in a filing with the New Mexico Attorney General, the Washington Free Beacon first <a href="https://freebeacon.com/democrats/democratic-megadonors-bankroll-media-matters-leaked-donor-list-shows/">reported</a>.
Deborah Simon, the daughter of the founder of one of America’s largest shopping mall companies, donated $4 million to Media Matters. Simon <a href="https://www.ibj.com/articles/deb-simon-willing-to-do-anything-to-oust-trump-in-2020">pledged</a> to “do anything” to beat Trump in 2020 and has given <a href="https://www.fec.gov/data/receipts/individual-contributions/?contributor_name=deborah+simon&amp;contributor_zip=46032">tens of millions</a> of dollars to Democrat candidates and causes, winning her a spot in the <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/interactive/2022/top-election-donors-2022/">top 50 political donors</a> of the 2022 midterm cycle.
The Gill Foundation, the private foundation of LGBT activist Tim Gill, furnished Media Matters with just under $3 million. Gill is a <a href="https://freebeacon.com/democracy-alliance/tim-gill-dark-money-master/">pioneer</a> of the use of “dark money” in politics, helping to flip the Colorado state legislature in 2004 with his <a href="https://www.influencewatch.org/organization/colorado-democracy-alliance/">Colorado Democracy Alliance</a>, which he co founded with fellow Democrat donor Patricia Stryker.
Another $1.75 million came from Bain Capital co-chairman Joshua Bekenstein and his wife, Anita. The couple has given <a href="https://www.opensecrets.org/outside-spending/donor_detail?cycle=2020&amp;id=U0000003074&amp;type=I&amp;super=s&amp;name=Bekenstein%2C+Joshua+%26+Anita">millions of dollars</a> to Democratic causes and were also in the <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/interactive/2022/top-election-donors-2022/">top 50 political donors</a> in the 2022 midterms.
Media Matters received another $1.9 million from the Stephen Silberstein Foundation, a leftwing organization that has <a href="https://www.influencewatch.org/non-profit/stephen-m-silberstein-foundation/">funded</a> other progressive organizations, including the Center for American Progress, Amnesty International, and People for the American Way, among others.
Media Matters raised a total of $16.5 million in 2022, and organization executives enjoyed huge salaries, with president Angelo Carusone collecting a whopping $406,000 and founder David Brock receiving $270,000 as well as a $189,000 payment from a deferred compensation plan.
But while Media Matters is funded by Democrat mega donors and organizes advertiser boycotts against conservatives, it is portrayed as an objective media watchdog by some <a href="https://freebeacon.com/democrats/democratic-megadonors-bankroll-media-matters-leaked-donor-list-shows/">news outlets</a> have <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2023/11/18/musk-threatens-thermonuclear-lawsuit-against-media-watchdog-calls-advertisers-oppressors.html">referred</a> to the organization as a &#8220;media watchdog,&#8221; neglecting to mention its partisan ties.
Media Matters is currently facing investigations from Texas Attorney General <a href="https://www.texasattorneygeneral.gov/news/releases/attorney-general-ken-paxton-opens-investigation-media-matters-potential-fraudulent-activity">Ken Paxton</a> and Missouri Attorney General <a href="https://ago.mo.gov/wp-content/uploads/2023.12.11-Notice-of-Investigation-MMFA-Final.pdf">Andrew Bailey</a>. The organization was also hit with a <a href="https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.txnd.383454/gov.uscourts.txnd.383454.1.0_1.pdf">lawsuit</a> from X, formerly known as Twitter, alleging that Media Matters sought to “portray X’s social networking platform as being dominated by “white nationalist and anti-Semitic conspiracy theories” in order to “drive advertisers from the platform and destroy X Corp.”

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey announced this week an investigation into <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/media-matters-for-america" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Media Matters for America</a> over accusations that the outlet intentionally misled readers about X to pressure advertisers to pull support from the social media platform. 
Last month, Bailey <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/republican-attorney-general-says-hes-looking-into-media-matters-after-musk-threatens-lawsuit" target="_blank" rel="noopener">indicated</a> that he would be looking at Media Matters after it published an article claiming X was placing ads for major corporations alongside Nazi-related content. Musk responded to the article by filing a lawsuit and saying it was “contrived” and a “fraudulent attack.” After the report, several major corporations like Apple and IBM announced they would pull advertising from X.
“We have reason to believe Media Matters used fraud to solicit donations from Missourians in order to trick advertisers into pulling out of X, the last platform dedicated to free speech in America. Radicals are attempting to kill Twitter because they cannot control it, and we are not going to let Missourians get ripped off in the process,” Bailey <a href="https://ago.mo.gov/attorney-general-bailey-notifies-media-matters-of-pending-investigation/#:~:text=JEFFERSON%20CITY%2C%20Mo.,X%2C%20formerly%20known%20as%20Twitter." target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in a statement. “I’m fighting to ensure progressive tyrants masquerading as news outlets cannot manipulate the marketplace in order to wipe out free speech.”
In a <a href="https://ago.mo.gov/wp-content/uploads/2023.12.11-Notice-of-Investigation-MMFA-Final.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letter</a> on Monday to Media Matters President Angelo Carusone, Bailey said that he believed the outlet might have violated Missouri consumer protection laws, “including laws that prohibit nonprofit entities from soliciting funds under false pretenses.” 
Bailey told Carusone to preserve any communication regarding the outlet&#8217;s story on X and any communications on their “efforts to manipulate those advertisers into pulling their ads from the platform.” 
Missouri’s investigation follows an <a href="https://www.texasattorneygeneral.gov/news/releases/attorney-general-ken-paxton-opens-investigation-media-matters-potential-fraudulent-activity" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announcement</a> from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton that he would be probing the outlet. 
“We are examining the issue closely to ensure that the public has not been deceived by the schemes of radical left-wing organizations who would like nothing more than to limit freedom by reducing participation in the public square,” Paxton said last month.

“[The] chill imposed by his retaliatory scheme injures Plaintiffs’ ability to investigate and publish news stories and further chills their ability to participate in a robust public discussion around political extremism on the X platform,” Media Matters lawyers claimed.

Missouri Republican Attorney General <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/missouri-attorney-general-launches-investigation-into-trans-center-for-harming-hundreds-of-children" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Andrew Bailey</a> said Sunday that he was looking into accusations that leftist outlet Media Matters for America intentionally misled readers about X to pressure advertisers to pull support from the social media platform. 
Bailey’s statement came after X owner Elon Musk said on Saturday that he would file a lawsuit against <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/media-matters-for-america">Media Matters</a> over a report it ran last week that claimed X was placing ads for major corporations alongside Nazi-related content. As a result of the report, major corporations like Apple and IBM announced they would be pulling advertising from X. Musk said the report was misleading and intended to undermine X’s commitment to free speech.
Musk said that Media Matters had created a “contrived” experience by using an alternate account to curate what posts appeared on the timeline. “Once they curated their feed, they repeatedly refreshed their timelines to find a rare instance of ads serving next to the content they chose to follow,” Musk said. 
Bailey said his team was &#8220;looking into this matter&#8221; in response to a post from Musk commenting on former Trump advisor Stephen Miller’s allegation that what Media Matters did was a civil and criminal violation.

According to Musk, the Media Matters report misrepresented X&#8217;s advertising practices. He said X logs indicated that of the 5.5 billion ad impressions on the day Media Matters pulled its research, less than 50 were served alongside the content highlighted by the leftist organization.
For one “brand showcased in the article, two of its ads served adjacent to 2 posts, 3 times, and that ad was only seen in that setting by one user, the author of the Media Matters article,” Musk said.

On Sunday, Musk responded to the allegations.

Musk announced the suit early Saturday morning, promising to file the suit as soon as the courts opened on Monday. The Media Matters <a href="https://www.mediamatters.org/twitter/musk-endorses-antisemitic-conspiracy-theory-x-has-been-placing-ads-apple-bravo-ibm-oracle" target="_blank" rel="noopener">story</a> at the center of the suit was published on Thursday and claimed that X was placing ads for major corporations alongside Nazi-related content. 
In the aftermath of the story, multiple corporations said that they would be pulling advertising from X, including Apple and IBM. 
“The split second court opens on Monday, X Corp will be filing a thermonuclear lawsuit against Media Matters and ALL those who colluded in this fraudulent attack on our company,” Musk said, indicating that the suit would target the board and their “network of dark money.”

Former NCAA champion swimmer <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/riley-gaines-blows-up-democrat-witness-testimony-during-trans-rights-hearing" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Riley Gaines</a> responded on Thursday to a hit piece accusing her of using her 5th-place tie with trans-identifying swimmer Lia Thomas to launch a career in right-wing media.
The piece was written by Alyssa Tirrell at left-wing outlet Media Matters for America, and argued that Gaines had traded a fifth place finish in the 200-meter freestyle at the 2022 NCAA championships — where she tied with Thomas — for a platform in conservative media.
MMfA&#8217;s Ari Drennen shared the article along with the comment, &#8220;Riley Gaines has turned a fifth-place tie with Lia Thomas into a lucrative career in the right wing media.&#8221; The headline echoed the same claim: &#8220;Over a year after her last race against Lia Thomas, Riley Gaines has built a media career on the trans swimmer’s name.&#8221;

In the article that followed, however, Tirrell appeared to be suggesting that 29 appearances — totaling two hours and 38 minutes of air time — amounted to a &#8220;media career.&#8221;
The piece went on to complain that instead of talking solely about her race against Thomas, Gaines was being asked to comment on broader issues — such as the athletic advantages biological males have over females when it comes to sports and the trauma that could result from allowing men into locker rooms with biological females and, particularly, young girls.
But as Gaines told The Daily Wire on Thursday, despite the fact that she does not intend to make media a career, critics like MMfA are just going to have to get used to seeing her around.

Fox News host Greg Gutfeld defended his former colleague Tucker Carlson, calling out the &#8220;hall monitor failures&#8221; who would like nothing better than to see the popular ex-Fox News host destroyed.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-democrats-in-d-c-run-when-confronted-by-reporter-about-skyrocketing-crime-rates/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Democratic operatives</a> are flooding battleground states with more than 50 supposedly local media outlets that are really designed to promote liberal candidates, according to a <a href="https://www.axios.com/2022/10/06/democrats-local-news-david-brock" target="_blank" rel="noopener">bombshell investigation by Axios</a>.
One man linked to the scheme is <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/report-david-brocks-non-profits-are-total-scams-aaron-bandler/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">David Brock</a>, the one-time conservative journalist who did a 180-degree turn and founded Media Matters For America, the controversial nonprofit that attacks conservative news sites. Axios&#8217; investigative reporters Lachlan Markay and Thomas Wheatley say the operation uses a “patina of independent local news content designed to put a sheen of original reporting on partisan messaging.”
The 51 pop-up sites have names such as the Milwaukee Metro Times, Macomb Digest, Mecklenburg Herald, and the Tri-City Record, and are aimed at key swing states Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Michigan, New Hampshire, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Wisconsin, according to the report.

The sites carry just enough aggregated stories on local crime and sports to make them look like legitimate local news outlets, but their real mission appears to be to position heavily slanted news favoring Democrat candidates and slamming their Republican opponents, the report revealed.
The sites’ “About Us&#8221; pages reveal they are owned by Local Report Inc., an Orando-based for-profit company <a href="https://search.sunbiz.org/Inquiry/CorporationSearch/SearchResultDetail?inquirytype=EntityName&amp;directionType=Initial&amp;searchNameOrder=LOCALREPORT%20P210000714930&amp;aggregateId=domp-p21000071493-53b4efe4-b445-4f93-b04f-9c234b9b3a3d&amp;searchTerm=Local%20Report%2C%20Inc&amp;listNameOrder=LOCALREPORT%20P210000714930">formed last year</a>.
Local Report has a relationship with The American Independent (TAI), whose current president is Matt Fuehrmeyer. Fuehrmeyer was a former senior aide at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and aide to the late former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
Many of the articles appearing on Local Report sites are written by a half-dozen writers who work for the Washington-based TAI, which was founded by Brock. Jessica McCreight, a former Obama administration operative, who serves as the American Independent’s executive editor, told Axios that American Independent and the Local Report have a partnership and “co-publishing agreement.” She claimed the sites are legitimate local news outlets.
“It’s been widely reported that where local news outlets shut down, dis- and misinformation grows,” she said. “To combat this challenge, the American Independent has expanded to bring readers local, fact-based news and information on topics and issues that impact their communities.”
The websites do not appear to be supported by advertisers, local or otherwise.
Sites in the dubious media chain have run glowing stories about Democratic candidates including Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams and Michigan Secretary of State candidate Jocelyn Benson, as well as stories critical of their opponents and others, such as North Carolina GOP Senate candidate Ted Budd.
“The media squealing about bias lol,” Brock tweeted in reaction to the Axios investigation.

Well, now it’s my turn. I expected something like this might happen. It had to. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/show/the-matt-walsh-show">I have been successful in fighting against the left’s agenda</a>, especially the trans agenda. Those who support the sexual mutilation of children know full well that I am a threat to them. We’re winning and they’re losing. And they know it. They cannot engage with our arguments, they cannot oppose us on the battlefield of ideas, so instead they look for another way. Now they’re convinced they’ve found their kill shot against me by using the same method they always use: digging up ancient history — doing the internet equivalent of rummaging through garbage cans — to find things done and said years ago which can be used to defame and, they hope, silence me today.
Yes, my PR team over at Media Matters apparently wasn’t satisfied to promote just my current show, so they decided to go back 15 years to my time as a rock radio host on an obscure station in Delaware. They spent, it would seem, many tedious hours listening to segments and bits from my time as a shock jock in my early 20s. It could not have been easy to sit through. I commend their persistence. Now they’ve compiled their findings into an “expose” that promises to reveal my “sordid past.” Honestly, I never thought of myself as having a sordid past. I figured my life was far too boring for that. But it turns out that I am a more interesting person than I had previously thought.
As for the vultures at Media Matters, and the Leftists who’ve picked up this hit piece and run with it, they are not very interesting. They are as pathetic and desperate as I’ve always known them to be. The Left isn’t interested in investigating children’s hospitals that literally castrate and butcher children. In fact, such investigations are an act of terrorism, they insist. But they will take the time to scour the internet for evidence that I made offensive remarks when I was 23 years-old. That, in their minds, is far more relevant to the public. A matter of much greater national urgency.
With that in mind, let’s talk now, for a few moments, about the deep dark secrets of my past. The skeletons that have been hiding in my closet, waiting to be discovered by an intrepid reporter at Media Matters. I will tell you the whole ghastly story, even the parts that Media Matters didn’t include.
When I was 20 years old, I moved into a one bedroom apartment in a small town in Delaware and started working at a rock station with a staggering audience that easily reached into the hundreds. Those are my humble beginnings — or the dark and sinister origins of the world’s most notorious terrorist, depending on who you listen to. I worked at the station until I was 25. For a couple of years during that period, I hosted a morning show where we often flouted the rules of political correctness (as was the custom on morning radio at the time).
In their hit piece, Media Matters presents evidence that I used racially insensitive humor, that I told inappropriate jokes, that I engaged in other offensive activities. All of that is, of course, true. They also accuse me of physically abusing our radio interns by tasing one of them as a joke. This is also true, and I submit, still funny. In fairness, I got tased too. In fact, I invented a game called taser trivia where, as the name suggests, you are asked trivia questions and if you get it wrong, you get tased. Media Matters didn’t post that video but they should. It’s quite shocking.
That’s the sort of content you missed out on if you didn’t live in southern Delaware in the early 2000s. But there’s more. Media Matters reveals that I once challenged the intern to lick the inside of a dumpster. Which again is true, but the part they leave out is that afterwards we called a doctor on the air to find out what sort of diseases he might have picked up from the stunt. From what I recall, the answer was “many.”
Also, again as Media Matters exposes, like any other hacky morning show at the time, we did prank calls. Some of the prank calls were offensive by current standards. Sometimes on a call I would imitate a black man. On one occasion I attempted to portray a man with split personalities, one of whom was black and the other white. It worked better on paper than it did in execution. But not all of our prank calls were racially charged. Only most of them were. We did one where I called a hotel pretending to be a wizard who had left his magical sword in his room. It was, I think without question, the nerdiest prank call anyone has ever made, and deserves to be recognized as such in the Guinness Book of World Records. But Media Matters didn’t include that video in their expose. Maybe they can find room for it in the follow up that I’m sure is coming soon.
Yet it wasn’t all fun and games. Media Matters reports that I made politically inflammatory statements, including at a Tea Party rally where I got into an argument with a guy in the audience while I was on stage, and it ended with me calling him an, quote, “old fart.” That’s the kind of devastating insult I could throw around before I became one myself.
But my political extremism wasn’t confined to yelling at people at Tea Party rallies. One thing Media Matters doesn’t mention — perhaps doesn’t know, but now they will — is that I ran for mayor of my town and lost by a vote of, if I remember correctly, 450 to 26. The campaign ultimately floundered because I never campaigned. Also, I had no platform of any kind. I mainly just entered the race because I thought it would be funny. And it was. It doesn’t end there. Other leftists have now joined the hunt, digging up their own evidence. One now-viral video shows me and my co-host burning a book over a charcoal grill. We then dance around the flames and make whooping noises like Indians. That’s all real, but the back story is that we had the author, whose name I forget, on the show. He annoyed us, for reasons I also forget, so we said we were going to burn his book in reprisal. And we did. And again, it was funny.
But the Left is not satisfied to merely accuse me of racism, terrorism, political extremism, and workplace violence. They are also absurdly claiming that I advocated child brides. For that bit of defamation, they are using another segment, from over a decade ago, where we discussed the issue of teen pregnancy. I pointed out that in the past, teen pregnancy wasn’t considered a problem because people got married younger. I was attempting to highlight the fact that unwed pregnancy is a core problem that plagues our society, and is still a problem even when the unwed pregnant person is an adult. No matter the age, I argued at the time, pregnancies become a crisis when they happen outside of marriage, without a stable family structure in place to care for the child. This was, again, not an issue in earlier times because people got married young and stayed married. It’s a rather uncontroversial historical observation, but the Left has latched onto this point, from years ago, and tried to use it to flip the “groomer” label against me, accusing me of “promoting” teen pregnancy and even child rape. This is a defamatory lie, they know it’s a lie, and it shows how desperate they are. They have chosen the most toxic smears available, because smears are all they have.
In summary, my enemies have thrown every last thing they can at me. The whole kitchen sink, and a few appliances to go with it. I am not the first to get this treatment and I certainly will not be the last. Their objective is nothing less than the wholesale destruction of my life and my career. That is the price they expect me to pay for opposing them effectively. They hope to force me to submit and apologize, at which point they will shoo me away with my tail between my legs, out of public view, out of the arena, off into obscurity. This is my punishment, the life sentence they expect me to serve, for trying to stop them from abusing and butchering children. And it’s not just me they are after. They want to send a message to you that if you stand up against them, this is what happens. They want to make me into another head on a spike, a warning to anyone else who might think about defying them.
Well here is my official answer, for the record: kiss my ass. I do not apologize. In fact by all rights you sick freaks should be the ones apologizing for lying and defaming me, and doing it all because I’m trying to prevent you from sexually mutilating children. You child abusing psychopaths. I wouldn’t apologize to you soulless parasites if I had a gun to my head. Instead I will just tell you all to piss off. I apologize for nothing. I concede nothing. I will never surrender even a single inch of ground to a pitchfork mob full of degenerate idiots. The secret that they never say out loud is that nobody is truly canceled unless they consent to it and willingly play their assigned role. I do not consent and I will not play the game.
I’m not going anywhere. I am more motivated than ever to oppose you and fight against everything you stand for because I hate everything you stand for and hate it more with each passing day. You can try to humiliate me, ruin my reputation, accuse me of all of the most heinous crimes you can invent in your tiny, feverish little brains, but I am not going anywhere. I’m staying in the fight and never leaving. I promise you that.
Also, for the record, I will always maintain that tasers are a wonderful source of comedy.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/author/matt-walsh">Matt Walsh</a> is trending on Twitter again for convincing hapless Media Matters that he’s deeply concerned about the rights of translucent individuals being represented in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/disney">Disney</a>’s new live-action “The Little Mermaid.”
The saga began when Media Matters journalist Jason Campbell <a href="https://twitter.com/JasonSCampbell/status/1570156771016065025">shared</a> a clip from Walsh’s show featuring the podcaster complaining that it’s “unscientific” to cast a black <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/entertainment">actress</a> as Ariel in the new <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/watch/movies">movie</a>. 
“From a scientific perspective, it doesn&#8217;t make a lot of sense to have someone with darker skin who lives deep in the ocean,” the Daily Wire host said. “I mean if anything, not only should the little mermaid be pale, she should also be translucent.”
Walsh continued, saying deep sea creatures are “horrifying” and “like skeletons” at the bottom of the ocean, before confirming that he’d actually watch a version of the movie where he could see Ariel’s skull through her face.
Anyone accustomed to Walsh’s deadpan humor immediately recognized this comment as a joke. However, Media Matters, the tax-exempt liberal organization whose mission is to attack conservative news sites, and other outlets took it as truth and have been reaching out to the host for comment on what has become a parody campaign for the rights of translucent skinned individuals.
“I said Ariel should be played by someone with translucent skin like a real deep-sea fish and thousands of Leftists took me seriously and are calling me racist because of it,” Walsh <a href="https://twitter.com/MattWalshBlog/status/1570194290219036673">shared</a> later. “I’m actually being accused of harboring racial favoritism for translucent people. I love it. This is great.”
When asked for a comment from GRV Media on his recent remarks about mermaids, Walsh kept up the act, writing in part that he’s “long been an advocate for the rights of translucent people.” 
“I believe it is time we start giving these casting opportunities to this marginalized community. Translucent rights are human rights. Please include this entire statement in your report,” Walsh replied to the request. 
Other Daily Wire podcast hosts also got in on the joke. 
“I, for one, consider it homophobic, transphobic, and misogynistic that @JasonSCampbell would question the scientific perspective of a beloved LGBTQ children&#8217;s  author and gender studies scholar such as @MattWalshBlog,” Michael Knowles<a href="https://twitter.com/michaeljknowles/status/1570213780696748033"> tweeted</a>.
&#8220;I&#8217;m sure @MattWalshBlog was absolutely serious when he suggested that the only scientifically accurate Little Mermaid would be a translucent, skeletal, gill-possessing being. You nailed him,&#8221; Ben Shapiro wrote.
“Absolutely disgusted by all this translucentphobia (transphobia for short). The systemic forces against our see-through friends are simply unacceptable,” one follower joked. 
Major outlets like <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/matt-walsh-slammed-online-saying-black-little-mermaid-not-scientifically-accurate-1743240">Newsweek</a> picked up on the story, acknowledging that Walsh was joking but still accusing him of being racist for suggesting a translucent skinned person should play Ariel.
“The Little Mermaid” trailer has spurred a lot of positive and negative reactions across the internet with the casting of Halle Bailey as Ariel. The live action version of the 1989 Disney classic will be released in May 2023.

Progressive outlet <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/media-matters-for-america">Media Matters</a> blasted conservative commentator Allie Beth Stuckey as a “fundamentalist Christian propagandist” in a hit piece published on Thursday.
Media Matters researcher Justin Horowitz <a href="https://www.mediamatters.org/blazetv/allie-beth-stuckey-teeters-between-culture-war-crusader-and-fundamentalist-christian">argued</a> that Stuckey, who hosts the “<a href="https://www.theblaze.com/podcasts/relatable-with-allie-stuckey">Relatable</a>” podcast, “weaponizes her Christian faith to attack non-traditional gender roles, often targeting and spreading misinformation about LGBTQ people and those that do not adhere to her prescribed fundamentalist lifestyle.” The article denounces virtually every aspect of Stuckey’s work — from her views on classical Christian education to her “instagrammable set decorations.”
“Stuckey has used her podcast to push her fundamentalist worldview, particularly focusing on enforcing traditional gender roles and family formation,” Horowitz wrote. “These fundamentalist values appear to inform every aspect of her life and guide her commentary.”
Media Matters for America — a nonprofit entity <a href="https://www.mediamatters.org/about-us">established</a> to “systematically monitor a cross section of print, broadcast, cable, radio, and Internet media outlets for conservative misinformation” — relies upon scare quotes and pejoratives to denounce conservative thinkers. In some instances, the group has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/media-matters-digs-old-tucker-carlson-audio-hank-berrien">dug up</a> old remarks from commentators and has been accused of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/media-matters-accused-of-deceptively-editing-fox-news-dana-perino-after-fda-approves-pfizer-vaccine">deceptively editing</a> footage of their ideological opponents. Media Matters recently <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/musk-calls-for-investigation-into-far-left-groups-trying-to-control-your-access-to-information">joined</a> with other progressive groups to urge a boycott of Twitter after Elon Musk made a bid to acquire the company.
In 2010, billionaire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/george-soros">George Soros</a> made a $1 million donation to Media Matters in an <a href="https://www.politico.com/blogs/ben-smith/2010/10/soros-gives-to-media-matters-publicly-030089">effort</a> to “hold Fox News accountable” for its threats to “civil and informed discourse in our democracy.”
The hit piece added that Stuckey is devoted to spreading “Christian ideology to her followers through a narrow feminine aesthetic.” Stuckey told The Daily Wire that she merely subscribes to the same beliefs held by fellow Christians through the ages.
“First of all, the article made me sound much cooler than I am, so I’m grateful for that! I’m just repeating the same Biblical doctrines believers have believed for thousands of years, many of which formed the foundation of Western civilization,” she remarked. “Can’t take too much credit for simply reiterating what other Christians have said for millennia.”
Stuckey added that the purpose of Media Matters is not to create “transparency or accountability,” but to “punish and intimidate those who oppose the progressive zeitgeist” — specifically by “targeting our sponsors, bullying the social media sites that platform us, maligning our supporters, and whipping up outrage among the 17 people that take their articles seriously.”
“They’re classic communists, not just in their intolerance of disagreement and their addiction to propaganda, but also in their hatred of God, the family, and all forms of stability and goodness,” Stuckey observed. “Misery loves company, and the lonely writers at Media Matters fantasize about everyone being as sad and purposeless as they are. It’s their life’s mission.”
Beyond her podcast, Stuckey is the author of <a href="https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/608241/youre-not-enough-and-thats-okay-by-allie-beth-stuckey/">You’re Not Enough (And That’s Okay)</a> — a book that <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/if-youre-not-indoctrinating-your-children-then-someone-else-is-allie-beth-stuckey-on-woke-education-entertainment-and-self-love">encourages</a> her predominantly young and female audience to abandon the postmodern ideology of “self-love.” In recent months, Stuckey was suspended from Twitter on two separate occasions — once for <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/twitter-suspends-conservative-pundit-allie-beth-stuckey-for-stating-that-transgender-weightlifter-is-a-man">saying</a> a transgender Olympic weightlifting competitor is “still a man,” and again for <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/allie-beth-stuckey-suspended-from-twitter-after-challenging-fox-news-segment-that-went-viral">denouncing</a> a Fox News segment that highlighted a family who claimed their child was transgender <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/shapiro-a-complete-betrayal-at-fox-news">before she could speak</a>.
With respect to Media Matters, Stuckey said that she and her audience “will never buy what they’re selling” — and will continue “finding fulfillment in our ‘fundamentalist’ lifestyles that include church, marriage and kids.”

Elon Musk called for an investigation into far-left groups that are reportedly pressuring advertisers on Twitter to boycott the platform if Musk rolls back the platform&#8217;s content moderation policies.
&#8220;Some of the nation&#8217;s biggest brands including Coca-Cola (CCEP), Disney (DIS) and Kraft (KHC) are facing calls to boycott Twitter if the company&#8217;s soon-to-be owner, billionaire Elon Musk, rolls back content moderation policies limiting hate speech and election misinformation,&#8221; CNN <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2022/05/03/tech/twitter-letter-content-policies/index.html">reported</a>. &#8220;In a letter sent to brands Tuesday ahead of the 2022 NewFronts digital advertising conference, more than two dozen civil society groups said marketers should secure commitments from Twitter to retain its most critical policies, including on civic integrity and hateful conduct, and threaten to withdraw funding if Twitter does not comply.&#8221;
Some of the far-Left groups that signed onto the letter include Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation, GLAAD, Media Matters For America, NARAL Pro-Choice America, and the Women&#8217;s March.
The letter stated in-part:
<blockquote>As top advertisers on Twitter, your brand risks association with a platform amplifying hate, extremism, health misinformation, and conspiracy theorists. Under Musk’s management, Twitter risks becoming a cesspool of misinformation, with your brand attached, polluting our information ecosystem in a time where trust in institutions and news media is already at an all-time low. Your ad dollars can either fund Musk’s vanity project or hold him to account. We call on you to demand Musk uphold these basic standards of community trust and safety, and to pull your advertising spending from Twitter if they are not.</blockquote>
&#8220;Who funds these organizations that want to control your access to information? Let’s investigate …&#8221; Musk responded in a tweet. &#8220;Sunlight is the best disinfectant.&#8221;
The letter comes after Twitter’s board of directors unanimously approved an acquisition by Musk last week in a $44 billion sale valued at $54.20 per share.
&#8220;Attacks are coming thick and fast, primarily from the left, which is no surprise, however I should be clear that the right will probably be a little unhappy too,&#8221; Musk said last week in reference to the response his purchase of the platform had generated. &#8220;My goal is to maximize area under the curve of total human happiness, which means the ~80% of people in the middle.&#8221;
Musk added in a separate tweet, “For Twitter to deserve public trust, it must be politically neutral, which effectively means upsetting the far right and the far left equally.”
