President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donald Trump</a> called out a reporter on Tuesday for bias over hyper-focusing on the pardons that he issued this week while ignoring the pardons and commutations issued by former President Joe Biden during the final moments of his failed presidency.
Trump said that he was not aware of the specific details of the pardon that the reporter was asking about, after he pardoned or commuted the sentences of approximately 1,500 the night before, but said that he would look into it.
The president then highlighted how George Soros-backed district attorneys around the country have often let some of the most violent offenders off the hook.
&#8220;These people have already served years in prison,&#8221; Trump said of the January 6 defendants whom he pardoned. &#8220;And they&#8217;ve served them viciously. It&#8217;s a disgusting prison. It&#8217;s been horrible. It&#8217;s inhumane. It&#8217;s been a terrible, terrible thing.&#8221;
&#8220;Joe Biden gave a pardon yesterday to a lot of criminals,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;These are criminals that he gave a pardon to, and you should be asking that question, why did he give a pardon to all of these people that committed crimes?&#8221;
&#8220;Why did he give a pardon to the J6 unselect committee when they burned and destroyed all documents which showed that they did what was wrong, not me?&#8221; Trump asked as the reporter tried to interrupt.

President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donald Trump</a> slammed a reporter during a press conference on Tuesday for repeatedly interrupting him, saying that the country was tired of &#8220;horrible people&#8221; like him.
Trump was asked about some of the people that his administration pardoned who were involved in the January 6 riot in 2021.
The reporter tried to pit Trump against Vice President JD Vance by asking him why Vance was &#8220;wrong&#8221; about something that he said.
As Trump started to answer the question, the reporter repeatedly interrupted him.
&#8220;Listen to me for a second,&#8221; Trump fired back. &#8220;Stop interrupting.&#8221;
&#8220;They served years in jail and if you look at the American public, the American public is tired of it. Take a look at the election. Just look at the numbers on the election,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;We won this election in a landslide, because the American public is tired of people like you that are just one-sided, horrible people, in terms of crime.&#8221;
Trump said that reporters like the one who repeatedly interrupted him &#8220;don&#8217;t talk about all the people that have been killed and what happens to those murderers.&#8221;

&#8220;Can I just say, I think comparing Biden&#8217;s pardons to Trump&#8217;s is like comparing apples to Volkswagens,&#8221; Ana Navarro cut in. &#8220;It does not seem similar to me because Joe Biden&#8217;s family, the people he pardoned on the January 6th Committee, have not actually committed crimes, he is trying to prevent them from spending the rest of their lives fighting the government, which is no easy feat.&#8221;
Navarro made no mention of the congressional investigation into Biden&#8217;s family members and their foreign business dealings, nor did she mention that less than two weeks earlier, Biden had said he had no intention of issuing pardons to anyone who had not committed any crimes.

As Navarro noted, Snoop Dogg has said critical things about Trump in the past — but after Trump commuted the sentence of Death Row Records founder Michael &#8220;Harry-O&#8221; Harris in January of 2021, the rapper appears to have changed his tune.

Sunny Hostin spent part of Tuesday&#8217;s broadcast of &#8220;The View&#8221; on ABC complaining that President Donald Trump had been allowed to take the oath of office on Monday, beginning his second term on Martin Luther King Day.
Hostin, who admitted that she did not watch any of the proceedings because she&#8217;d &#8220;decided to protect my peace,&#8221; argued that it was hypocritical to have Trump sworn in on a day honoring King.
Instead of watching the inauguration, she said she&#8217;d chosen to participate in a service day in Harlem with her sorority sisters.

Complaining that Trump has called for a move toward &#8220;meritocracy,&#8221; Hostin then asserted — even though he won both the Electoral College and the popular vote in the 2024 election — that Trump himself &#8220;didn&#8217;t become the president of the United States because of merit.&#8221;
&#8220;He hasn&#8217;t — he had no political experience whatsoever,&#8221; she added, leaving out the fact that he has, in fact, already served one term as president. &#8220;He was given everything that he has. He is a legacy hire. He is, if anything, a DEI hire, a didn&#8217;t earn it hire.&#8221;
Trump is the second president to be sworn in on MLK Day. Former President Bill Clinton started his second term on the commemorative holiday in 1997. Additionally, after being sworn in on Sunday, January 20, both former Presidents Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama held multiple inaugural events on the holiday in 1985 and 2013, respectively. It was Reagan, in 1983, who declared that the third Monday in January would be recognized in honor of the Civil Rights leader.

Now-former President Joe Biden spent his last few hours in office issuing blanket pardons — which he swore in 2020 that he would not do — to a few select people, most of whom he simultaneously claimed were not guilty of any wrongdoing.
While a number of critics pointed out the fact that Biden had gone back on his word, most voiced concerns about who had received those pardons and what that said about them — and about Biden.

The former were described by NYT reporter Peter Baker as being issued &#8220;to head off politically driven prosecutions.&#8221; The latter, as described by Maggie Haberman and Michael Schmidt, were intended &#8220;to override courts, juries and prosecutors to apply his own standard of justice for his allies.&#8221;

&#8220;Then, in May 2024, I read an article that talked about Trump&#8217;s speech in Charlottesville, where he said there are good people on both sides, and the article said it was completely propaganda and didn&#8217;t actually reflect what he said,&#8221; Pincus said. &#8220;That he denounced the Nazis a bunch of times in his speech, so then I went and watched that video, and that was my red pill moment.&#8221;

The defamation came when the network went ahead with a segment focused on his work aiding in high-risk evacuations from Afghanistan in the wake of President Joe Biden&#8217;s disastrous withdrawal. In that report, put together by chief national security correspondent Alex Marquardt, Young had been singled out as the poster boy for &#8220;exploiting&#8221; desperate Afghans who wanted to flee from the Taliban-controlled country.
The segment initially ran on November 11, 2021, as part of &#8220;The Lead with Jake Tapper,&#8221; and the anchor introduced the story as follows:

After he was introduced, Marquardt doubled down on the characterization of Young as someone who was willing to take advantage of desperate people to make a quick buck.

One LinkedIn user posted messages with Young, where Young said it would be $75,000 for a car to Pakistan. He told another it would be 14 and a half thousand per person to get to the United Arab Emirates or Albania for another 4,000. Prices well beyond the reach of most Afghans.</blockquote>
As the trial played out, however, the jury saw evidence that Young had done nothing of the sort — and that it was likely at least a few people at CNN were well aware of that when the story went to air.

Scott Jennings, often CNN&#8217;s sole Republican commentator on panels, gave his take Thursday night on why some Democrats are looking to have a relationship with President-elect Donald Trump in the wake of his massive election victory.
Mayor Eric Adams of New York City is set to meet with Trump on Friday at Mar-a-Lago. Rumors circulated that Adams is angling for a pardon in the wake of his indictment on charges of bribery and wire fraud, but the Democratic mayor has also indicated he wants to work with the incoming administration and has been critical of the Biden administration.

Maher argued that it wasn&#8217;t really a Left or Right issue, but one of accountability, telling TMZ hosts Harvey Levin and Charles Latibeaudiere that he&#8217;d had previous run-ins with California&#8217;s extensive building regulations when he had tried to install a shed and some solar panels on his own property.
&#8220;I always think there’s a middle of the road, actual practical solution to everything and for this I would say, was California’s uber progressive politics the cause of this fire? Of course not. Did it impede them to some degree? Absolutely. That’s the margin of error that I’m saying we can’t abide by anymore,&#8221; Maher explained.

Newsom announced that he would slash red tape for residents who chose to rebuild in the aftermath of the devastating fires, and also promised to prosecute any developers who attempted to sweep in and buy up the land.
