Nine states allow food stamps to be spent in restaurants, and two more are in the process of allowing it. The fact that the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program is buying taxpayer-funded meals at establishments like McDonald&#8217;s has triggered one Republican senator to introduce a bill to stop it.
More than half a billion dollars in taxpayer money went to paying for the indigent to dine out through the Restaurant Meals Program between June 2023 and May 2025, a new investigation by Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) found.
&#8220;While franchises like McDonald’s are making McMillions off of SNAP RMP, allowing fast food to be purchased with food stamps is an idea that is a few fries short of a Happy Meal,&#8221; she wrote. &#8220;The &#8216;N&#8217; in SNAP stands for &#8216;Nutrition,&#8217; and we all know fast food isn’t exactly nutritious,&#8221; she continued, alongside photos of Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and KFC locations advertising that they accept government benefit cards.
&#8220;McSCUSE ME?&#8221; Ernst <a href="https://x.com/SenJoniErnst/status/1991604757841203254">added on X</a>. &#8220;The amount of SNAP being spent at fast food should be $0 not McMillions.&#8221;
The Federal Agriculture Department, which funds the food stamp program, <a href="https://www.fns.usda.gov/snap/retailer/restaurant-meals-program" target="_blank" rel="noopener">allows</a> states to optionally allow food stamp recipients to spend their money at restaurants if they are 60 years or older, disabled, the spouse of such a person, or homeless.
Ernst has introduced the &#8220;McStopping Chains from Using SNAP EBT to Make Entrees Act,&#8221; or the <a href="https://www.ernst.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/mcscuse_me_act.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">McSCUSE ME Act</a>, that would allow the elderly or disabled to get hot, prepared meals from deli counters and hot bars of grocery stores, but not from fast food chains. It would also remove spouses of qualified people from eligibility.
The SNAP program was already under scrutiny for allowing the indigent to purchase nearly anything edible, such as candy and soda, even as poor people are more likely to be obese than starving, leading to expensive medical care that is also paid for by taxpayers. Nearly 5,000 stores with words related to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/food-stamps-accepted-at-thousands-of-liquor-and-tobacco-stores-contributing-to-healthcare-fiasco" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“liquor” or “tobacco”</a> in their names accept food stamps, a Daily Wire review of government data found.

In the last year, conservative states have initiated bans on the purchase of soda — a move that states like New York have also pursued over the years, only to be blocked by the federal government, which must issue a waiver. Yet liberal states are moving in the opposite direction, with some newly adding fast food to the menu.
Oregon is running a <a href="https://www.oregon.gov/odhs/agency/pages/ssp-rmp.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">&#8220;SNAP Restaurant Meals Program&#8221;</a> pilot based on a bill its legislature passed in 2024. It will apply to anyone 60 or older or who has a disability, as well as the homeless. <a href="https://www.dhs.state.il.us/page.aspx?item=136655" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Illinois</a> is piloting a restaurant meals program with the same criteria, except that it also extends eligibility to the spouses of people who are disabled or over 60. Restaurants must sign up with the state to accept food stamps.
Other states allowing food stamps at restaurants are Arizona, California, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Rhode Island, and Virginia, though the vast majority of the spending is in California.
The move to curtail free soda was met with a lobbying campaign by lobbying groups representing soda and candy manufacturers, who rake in billions of dollars from the program. Ernst&#8217;s bill could be met by a similar move from fast food chains.

President Donald Trump told McDonald&#8217;s franchise owners on Monday night that his 2024 election victory was vital to the U.S. economy, touting his push to lower prices.

The summit also featured speeches from Democratic politicians, such as New York Governor Kathy Hochul, Maryland Governor Wes Moore, Rep. The event provided Trump with an opportunity to push forward the administration&#8217;s refocused efforts to address economic issues.
During his speech, Trump argued that under former President Joe Biden, &#8220;Welfare was going up &#8230; government jobs were going up, real jobs were going down.&#8221;
&#8220;You would&#8217;ve had a catastrophe,&#8221; he added. &#8220;You probably would&#8217;ve had a bankrupt country. You are so damn lucky that I won that election, I&#8217;m telling you.&#8221;
Trump acknowledged that &#8220;there&#8217;s still a lot of work to do&#8221; in his effort to boost the economy and help businesses, but argued that America is already in a &#8220;golden age.&#8221;
&#8220;Because we are doing better than we&#8217;ve ever done as a country,&#8221; the president added. &#8220;Prices are coming down and all of that stuff. &#8230; Nobody has done what we&#8217;ve done in terms of pricing. We took over a mess.&#8221;

The president said that inflation remains one of the issues that his administration would continue to address. Trump said he would like to see inflation drop &#8220;a little bit lower,&#8221; as the White House seeks to address Americans&#8217; lingering economic concerns.
&#8220;We have it down to a low level, but we&#8217;re going to get it a little bit lower. We want perfection,&#8221; Trump said.
Year-over-year <a href="https://www.bls.gov/charts/consumer-price-index/consumer-price-index-by-category-line-chart.htm">inflation</a> sits at 3% as of the latest update. It has hovered at fairly low levels — between 2.5% and 3.5% — throughout Trump&#8217;s second term, but Americans continue to see the prices of some food items increase. Ground beef, for example, shot up 13.5% from last year. The prices of imported foods, such as bananas, avocados, and coffee, have also increased due to Trump&#8217;s so-called reciprocal tariffs, which he imposed on nearly every country worldwide.
The Trump administration <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-rolls-back-tariffs-on-dozens-of-food-imports-heres-what-will-be-affected">acknowledged</a> last week that some tariffs on food are negatively affecting Americans and moved to roll back tariffs on numerous food items, including beef, coffee, tea, bananas, oranges, tomatoes, and tropical fruits and fruit juices. During his speech on Monday night, however, Trump argued that his tariffs are an overall benefit to the United States.
&#8220;We have over $17 trillion being invested in our country in nine months. It&#8217;s now just about ready to crack $18 [trillion], and by the end of one year, we will have about $20 to $21 trillion invested in our country,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;That&#8217;s more [than] 10 times the highest amount ever invested in any country ever before, and it&#8217;s largely because of tariffs.&#8221;
Trump thanked McDonald&#8217;s for working to lower its prices, but many Americans have complained that the fast-food giant&#8217;s prices have continued to rise. According to The Economist’s “<a href="https://www.economist.com/interactive/big-mac-index" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Big Mac Index</a>,&#8221; McDonald’s prices have increased in recent months, with the average cost of the chain’s signature Big Mac jumping to $6.01 as of July, which was up from $5.69 at the same time last year. Trump suggested that he would speak at the summit next year if the company gets prices &#8220;down enough.&#8221;
&#8220;And I want to give a very special thanks to McDonald&#8217;s for slashing prices for your most popular items, bringing back extra value meals. As President Donald Trump focuses his energy on bringing food costs back down, he&#8217;s taking his messaging to the people who serve food to millions of Americans for a living each day: McDonald&#8217;s franchise owners, operators, and suppliers.
Trump is set to address an audience of McDonald&#8217;s franchisees in Washington, D.C., on Monday evening as the White House does a full-court press on economic issues, Axios <a href="https://www.axios.com/2025/11/17/trump-affordability-mcdonalds-summit">reported</a>.
&#8220;The Biden administration started the affordability crisis, but President Trump will end it so all Americans can achieve economic prosperity,&#8221; a White House official told Axios.
Trump is scheduled to speak at 6:00 p.m. ET. The &#8220;Impact Summit&#8221; will also <a href="https://foxbaltimore.com/news/nation-world/trump-to-speak-on-affordability-at-mcdonalds-impact-summit-french-fries-wes-moore-kathy-hochul-rahm-emanuel-rep-pete-aguilar-washington-dc-one-big-beautiful-bill-economy">feature</a> a slate of Democratic speakers, including New York Governor Kathy Hochul, Maryland Governor Wes Moore, Rep. Pete Aguilar (D-CA), and former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel. It&#8217;s a venue where Republicans and the Trump administration want to make their presence known as the economy comes back to the forefront of the political conversation.
The summit will give Trump a chance to double down on his administration&#8217;s efforts to address the economy and food prices. McDonald&#8217;s CEO Chris Kempczinski warned earlier this month that inflation was continuing to place &#8220;pressure on the industry.&#8221;
&#8220;It&#8217;s still a difficult environment, and inflation is proving to be sticky,&#8221; Kempczinski said, according to <a href="https://www.foxbusiness.com/retail/mcdonalds-ceo-warns-rising-beef-prices-remain-challenge-inflation-stays-sticky">Fox Business</a>. &#8220;I mean, we&#8217;re expecting to see there&#8217;s going to be above-average inflation next year. … We&#8217;re seeing very, very high inflation around beef prices versus what we&#8217;re used to historically, and so I think all of that just keeps putting pressure on the industry.&#8221;
McDonald&#8217;s executives have said that higher overhead costs have forced the company to raise prices, which has driven away many low-income customers.

Ground beef, overall, has risen 13.5% from last year, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Trump has argued that high food prices are leftover effects from the Biden administration, which saw inflation rise to 9.1% in June 2022.
The Trump administration has taken more steps recently to address high prices and point out where prices have fallen.
&#8220;Since Day One, the Trump Administration has been on a mission to tame Biden’s inflation crisis, stop the sky-high Biden price increases, and lower costs for everyday families — and while it can’t happen overnight, evidence shows the trend is in the right direction,&#8221; the White House <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/articles/2025/11/were-making-big-progress-on-prices-and-well-keep-working-to-make-sure-everyone-benefits/">said</a> on Friday.
Trump also removed tariffs on hundreds of food imports on Friday, marking a major pivot in the president’s trade strategy. Trump&#8217;s tariff rollback is aimed at lowering prices for Americans and will apply to food items that are not grown or produced in the United States in “sufficient quantities,” including beef, coffee, tea, bananas, oranges, tomatoes, and tropical fruits and fruit juices.
McDonald&#8217;s is a personal favorite of Trump&#8217;s. The president made a pit stop at a McDonald&#8217;s location in Pennsylvania during the 2024 campaign, where he ran the fry cooker and served food to customers. He has also served McDonald&#8217;s food to special guests in the White House.

McDonald’s, which is the largest fast food chain in the nation, is working with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and others to invest more than $200 million over the next seven years in regenerative grazing practices, habitat restoration, and water and wildlife conservation on cattle ranches spanning 4 million acres across up to 38 states, a press release from the company outlines.
The investment, McDonald&#8217;s said, shows the company&#8217;s &#8220;continued commitment to responsible beef sourcing and stewardship of natural resources.&#8221;
Calley Means, an advisor to Kennedy, said on X, &#8220;McDonald’s invests $200 million to shift supply chain to more regenerative practices. Soil Health and regenerative practices are a true win-win between MAHA advocates and large companies. These moves should be celebrated.&#8221;

A new president might be in the White House, but Washington, D.C., is pushing “Pride” as much as ever this year. 
From parades and marches to dance festivals and drag performances, the nation’s capital has not stepped back from using “Pride Month” to push radical gender ideology. Most Americans are tired of the “Pride Month” shenanigans, but they’re still being shoved down their throats with the endorsements of some of the country’s most popular brands.

Earlier this week, people rallied around the man who claimed he left his three children at the restaurant playground to attend a job interview, raising money through a crowdfunding campaign. But now police say he &#8220;was not engaged in a job interview or application process&#8221; while his three children were left alone.
George Louis, 24, was arrested in Augusta on March 22 for deprivation of a minor after leaving the kids, ages 1, 6, and 10, alone at McDonald’s for a few hours. The Augusta Press reported that Louis had told police he was at a job interview. This caused an outpouring of support online from people who justified the man’s decision in order to improve his situation. 
Police are now saying the job interview story was untrue after they spoke to the eldest of Louis&#8217; children following the incident.
&#8220;A 10-year-old child, stated that she, her father (Chris Louis), and her two siblings had walked to McDonald’s from [an apartment complex],&#8221; the report said, per <a href="https://people.com/georgia-dad-left-kids-mcdonalds-not-job-interview-say-police-11708460">People</a>. &#8220;She further stated that her father left to deliver a backpack to [the apartment complex] and told her he would return shortly. The child also mentioned that her father frequently left them alone.&#8221;
Two witnesses said they heard Louis on the phone about 4:30 p.m. say he had to &#8220;drop something off.&#8221; This item was later stated to be a black backpack. Louis said &#8220;he lost his ID and another card and had been retracing his steps to find them,&#8221; per a <a href="https://www.augustachronicle.com/story/news/local/2025/04/02/augusta-father-disputed-alibi-in-child-neglect-case-spurs-fundraiser-mcdonalds-gofundme/82779661007/">statement</a> from Capt. Danny Whitehead of the Richmond County Sheriff&#8217;s Office Field Operations Division.
Law enforcement also visited the location when Louis said he applied for a job.
 “[The West Bank Inn manager] confirmed that Mr. Louis came in on March 22, 2025, and completed a job application,” police said. “She also conducted an informal interview with him on that date. When asked if Mr. Louis would be expecting a callback for a formal interview, she stated no,” the report continued. 
Police also questioned the timeline, saying security footage showed Louis leaving the West Bank Inn three hours before his children were observed alone at the McDonald’s.
“Based on the video evidence and the timeline provided by all parties involved, it was determined that Mr. Louis was not engaged in a job interview or application process during the time the children were left unattended,” the sheriff’s office reportedly said. “Furthermore, by his own admission, he was walking between McDonald’s and [an apartment complex] on foot during that period.”
The misdemeanor charge of deprivation of a minor &#8220;was appropriate to ensure the welfare of the children and facilitate a review of the matter by the court,&#8221; Whitehead concluded.
Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown started a GoFundMe to help Louis&#8217; cause.
“Story caught me by surprise. A dad just trying to find a way to make money for his family. I know he shouldn’t just leave his kids, but some people don’t have the means for babysitting, etc,” Brown wrote on GoFundMe, which is titled “Pursuit of Happiness.” 
As of Friday morning, the campaign had raised more than $83,000.

Social media users are divided over the story of a young Georgia father who left his three children unattended at a McDonald’s restaurant playground so he could go to a job interview.
Chris Louis, 24, was arrested after leaving the children, ages 1, 6, and 10, at the restaurant after walking them there from his apartment in Augusta just before 4:30 p.m. on March 22, per <a href="https://theaugustapress.com/augusta-man-jailed-for-leaving-kids-at-mcdonalds-while-job-hunting/">The Augusta Press</a>. A witness saw Louis leave the children, then return to check on them before leaving again. 
Law enforcement was dispatched to the location after receiving a call from a concerned customer. They were waiting for Louis when he returned to the McDonald’s again at 6:20 p.m. The father told police he didn’t want the children to walk back home alone while he had the job interview. Officers waited at the restaurant until the mother arrived and picked up the children.
Louis was arrested and charged with deprivation of a minor.
The story has inspired a lot of conversation online, with users arguing both sides of the situation. Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown put his support behind Louis and started a GoFundMe to help his cause.
“Story caught me by surprise. A dad just trying to find a way to make money for his family. I know he shouldn’t just leave his kids, but some people don’t have the means for babysitting, etc,” Brown wrote on <a href="https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-the-man-from-the-story-that-has-gone-viral">GoFundMe</a>, which is titled “Pursuit of Happiness.” 
As of Wednesday morning, the campaign has raised just over $40,000 of the $50,000 goal, with $1,000 of it coming from Brown.
“This man is a hero, not a villain,” one person <a href="https://x.com/matt_vanswol/status/1907162412660179112">said</a>. “He is trying to get a job to support his kids and he CORRECTLY assumes that a 10 year old can watch their siblings at McDonalds for a few minutes while he interviews for a job across the street. All charges should be dropped immediately.”
“He had a kid when he was fourteen and holds himself responsible for it. A ten year old can watch a sibling for a short amount of time. This is a wild overreaction on the part of [law enforcement],” another X user <a href="https://x.com/bethanyshondark/status/1906859867085684738">agreed</a>. 
“If the kids were fine, he should be left alone to try and do his best. All that has happened here is they&#8217;ve turned someone that was working to be a productive member of society into someone forced to be a non-productive member of society. I have respect for this man for doing his best to better his situation, and all the police did was destroy it,” a third <a href="https://x.com/karldickey/status/1907098455815651697">agreed</a>.
Some users were skeptical that Louis was actually attending a job interview and questioned why he didn’t get a babysitter.
“Nah! I call BS. Did you read the article? It states that he was seen leaving and returning to McDonald’s multiple times,” one person <a href="https://x.com/LStark711/status/1907193116798693656">observed</a>. “If he was waiting for his turn to be interviewed and was uncertain about how many other applicants were ahead of him or how long it would take, why not have the 10-year-old entertain the younger children safely in the apartment during the interview? It makes no sense to take them to McDonald’s, leave them there, return, and repeat. Something about this scenario seems off.”
Many locals also noted that the location of that McDonald’s was not in a safe part of town.
“McDonald&#8217;s in Augusta is not a safe place for little kids unsupervised,” an X user <a href="https://x.com/MattDeluccia/status/1907171199341207966">said</a>. “Maybe it was 30-40 years ago, but definitely not today. I don’t think he should have been arrested though. I think a warning would have sufficed. Hope he got the job if he’s got 3 little kids.”
“There’s a huge difference between having a 10 yr old watch kids at your house for an hour and leaving them at a McD’s in a busy city,” another person <a href="https://x.com/544pibble/status/1907113606585385225">wrote</a>. “Hard no. I get that he’s trying. While I respect that, as an employer I’d say his judgment is questionable.”

Fast food giant <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/mcdonalds" target="_blank" rel="noopener">McDonald’s</a> announced Monday that it would step back from several diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in light of a “shifting legal landscape.” 
The move comes after a number of other major corporations like <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/tractor-supply-reverses-course-backs-out-of-woke-initiatives-following-conservative-backlash" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tractor Supply</a> and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/toyota-slams-brakes-on-dei-commitments-after-robby-starbuck-expose-on-lgbtq-support" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Toyota</a> have scaled back their DEI commitments following public scrutiny. McDonald’s executives said in a <a href="https://corporate.mcdonalds.com/corpmcd/our-stories/article/our-commitment-to-inclusion.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letter</a> to company employees that the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn affirmative action prompted the changes. 
The changes announced by McDonald’s include no more participation in third-party surveys, eliminating “aspirational representation goals,” and axing its supply chain DEI pledge. 
“Following the Supreme Court ruling in STUDENTS FOR FAIR ADMISSIONS, INC. v. PRESIDENT AND FELLOWS OF HARVARD COLLEGE, we also assessed the shifting legal landscape to anticipate how this ruling may impact corporations such as McDonald’s,&#8221; the executives wrote. &#8220;And finally, we benchmarked our approach to other companies who are also re-evaluating their own programs.”
McDonald’s said it would stop “setting aspiration representational goals” and instead work to “embed inclusion practices that grow our business into our everyday process and operations.” 
The fast-food chain added that it would pause participation in “external surveys to focus on the work we are doing internally to grow the business.” Previously, the company had participated in the leftwing Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index Survey, <a href="https://www.csrwire.com/press_releases/791476-mcdonalds-receives-100-human-rights-campaigns-2023-2024-corporate-equality" target="_blank" rel="noopener">boasting</a> that it had received a 100% score for “advancing LGBTQ+ friendly policies.”

McDonald’s added that it was ending its supply chain commitment to the DEI pledge “in favor of a more integrated discussion with suppliers about inclusion as it relates to business performance.”
Despite the changes, the company said that it reports demographic information on its board, employees, and suppliers and rebranded its diversity team as the Global Inclusion Team. 
Conservative activist Robby Starbuck <a href="https://x.com/robbystarbuck/status/1876375295218835908" target="_blank" rel="noopener">celebrated</a> the news, saying he contacted McDonald’s three days before the announcement to ask about its “woke policies.” 
“Companies can see that America wants sanity back. The era of wokeness is dying right in front of our eyes. The landscape of corporate America is quickly shifting to sanity and neutrality. We are the trend, not the anomaly anymore,” he posted on X. “We’re winning and one by one we WILL bring sanity back to corporate America.”

Former President Donald Trump spent some time at a McDonald&#8217;s franchise in Pennsylvania on Sunday afternoon, largely to troll Vice President Kamala Harris — but The New York Times took the bait too, and the outlet just can&#8217;t let it go.
The Times ran a story on Monday titled &#8220;<a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/10/21/nyregion/trump-mcdonalds-employees.html?smtyp=cur&amp;smid=tw-nytimes" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Trump Took a Turn at the Fryer. McDonald’s Workers Have Thoughts</a>.&#8221;

The Times spoke to several McDonald&#8217;s employees who said that &#8220;right away&#8221; something had seemed to be not quite right with Trump&#8217;s job performance.
&#8220;The box is, like, backwards,&#8221; complained David Ye, a three-year employee at a McDonald&#8217;s in Lower Manhattan. &#8220;He doesn’t seem to know how to do it.&#8221;
Another was concerned after seeing that Trump had jokingly tossed a pinch of salt over his shoulder when he spilled a little. Kishia, a McDonald&#8217;s manager in Flatbush, told the Times, &#8220;You don’t throw salt like that. Somebody could have been behind him, you know?&#8221;
A cashier at a McDonald&#8217;s in Queens objected to the campaign stop in its entirety, claiming that it minimized the work she did every day.
&#8220;How many days are they gonna drag this out? Why do they keep playing into his hands?&#8221; Jon Gabriel asked. &#8220;I know they&#8217;re the smartest people ever to have lived. They wear glasses, nod thoughtfully. They must have a good reason.&#8221;

While in the McDonald&#8217;s in Feasterville, Bucks County, near Philadelphia, Trump put on an apron, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-works-fry-cooker-at-mcdonalds-roasts-kamala-ive-now-worked-15-minutes-more-than-she-has" target="_blank" rel="noopener">worked the fry cooker</a>, and even handed out food at the drive-thru window. He also talked with people, including journalists and employees.
Trump was doing what &#8220;I think what he does best, which is just being among the people, talking to them about what they care about,&#8221; Vance said. &#8220;He showed I think genuine interest in the employees and their lives and where they came from and what they were actually doing in their job, and that&#8217;s something you can&#8217;t stage, and you can&#8217;t fake. That is just a genuine person that Donald Trump is.&#8221;
Vance stressed that these interactions are &#8220;why I think a lot of working people, even though, of course, he&#8217;s a successful real estate billionaire, have this emotional connection to Donald Trump. You can&#8217;t make up that kind of connection.&#8221;
Also during his visit to McDonald&#8217;s, Trump took jabs at his 2024 rival, Vice President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kamala-harris" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kamala Harris</a>, over her saying that she held a job at McDonald&#8217;s while she was a college student in the 1980s. The Washington Free Beacon and others have <a href="https://freebeacon.com/elections/i-did-fries-kamala-harris-claims-she-worked-at-mcdonalds-but-she-never-mentioned-it-until-she-ran-for-president-did-she-really-toil-beneath-the-golden-arches/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">raised questions</a> about the claim, noting a lack of documentation to back it up.

&#8220;I don&#8217;t know what&#8217;s ultimately true here,&#8221; Vance added, &#8220;but it&#8217;s interesting where the media will try to nitpick and micromanage every single thing that me or Donald Trump has said. And yet they just buy into this narrative&#8221; from Harris.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz claimed on Monday that Vice President Kamala Harris worked at McDonald&#8217;s and that former President Donald Trump &#8220;disrespect[ed]&#8221; McDonald&#8217;s workers by showing up at a restaurant over the weekend and serving customers.
Walz made the remarks during an interview on ABC News&#8217; &#8220;The View&#8221; after Trump stopped at a McDonald&#8217;s in Pennsylvania to serve food to supporters.
&#8220;She actually worked in a McDonald&#8217;s,&#8221; Walz claimed without evidence. &#8220;She didn&#8217;t go and pander and disrespect McDonald&#8217;s workers by standing there in your red tie and take a picture.&#8221;
&#8220;His policies are the ones that undermine those very workers that were in that McDonald&#8217;s, whether it&#8217;s home ownership, health care, reproductive rights or cost of products,&#8221; he claimed.

Trump&#8217;s appearance at his favorite fast food restaurant was intended to draw attention to Harris&#8217; disputed claims.
“I’ve now worked 15 minutes more than Kamala [at McDonald&#8217;s],&#8221; Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-works-fry-cooker-at-mcdonalds-roasts-kamala-ive-now-worked-15-minutes-more-than-she-has">said</a>. &#8220;She never worked here.&#8221;
The company said in an internal message on Sunday to U.S. franchise owners that they were proud of Harris&#8217; &#8220;fond memories working under the Arches&#8221; while seemingly <a href="https://archive.is/y2CG5">acknowledging</a> that the company does not have a record of her employment since they &#8220;don&#8217;t have records for all positions dating back to the early &#8217;80s.&#8221;
Walz concluded his remarks on the matter by falsely claiming that &#8220;every economist&#8221; says that Trump&#8217;s policies would &#8220;drive up inflation,&#8221; even though Harris is <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/how-kamala-harris-triggered-the-inflation-crisis-that-harmed-america">largely responsible</a> for the inflation crisis that has plagued the U.S. under the Biden-Harris administration.
