The post did not divulge any details on why Flores was hospitalized.
Flores became the first Mexican-born woman ever elected to Congress when she won the special election for Texas’s 34th Congressional District in June 2022. She <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/elections-2022-texas-house-republican-mayra-flores-projected-to-lose-seat-no-red-wave/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lost</a> her bid for a full term in the general election later that year to Rep. Vicente Gonzalez (D-TX) after district maps were redrawn. Gonzalez defeated Flores again in the 2024 election.
Hours earlier on Tuesday, Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/first-mexico-born-rep-targets-indictment-plagued-democrat-house-gop-comeback-bid" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that Flores was embarking on a new campaign in the 28th Congressional District against Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX), who was indicted along with his wife in 2024 on federal bribery charges. Cuellar denied that he and his wife committed any wrongdoing. A trial is still <a href="https://x.com/nicholaswu12/status/1865123044601033126" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pending</a>.

Republican Mayra Flores, the former U.S. Representative from Texas who lost a bid to keep her seat last year, has announced she is running to retake it. 
Flores announced her campaign during an <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/texas-republican-mayra-flores-announces-campaign-return-congress" target="_blank" rel="noopener">interview</a> on “Fox &amp; Friends” Tuesday, saying she’s ready to &#8220;take back what&#8217;s ours.&#8221; The former representative won her seat in a special election last June, marking the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/republican-mayra-flores-wins-u-s-house-seat-in-south-texas-first-gop-win-there-in-150-years" target="_blank" rel="noopener">first</a> Republican to represent the South Texas district in more than 150 years, but lost it months later in November’s midterm elections. 
“I am announcing for Congress,” Flores said during an appearance on Fox News. &#8220;We are taking back our seat, Texas District 34. I&#8217;m very excited, and I have a lot of faith in God, in my family, in my amazing team, that we will flip this district and take back what is ours in 2024.” 
Flores, the wife of a border patrol agent, emphasized securing the border and preventing child trafficking in her announcement. She also blamed the Biden administration for “losing track of 85,000 children,” referencing a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/senator-hawley-calls-for-full-scale-fbi-investigation-into-85000-migrant-kids-missing-under-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> that the Department of Health and Human Services has “lost touch” with as many as 85,000 migrant children, according to The New York Times. 
&#8220;And so this is for our children, for the future, for their parents, and also for these children that are being brought into the United States as well, to be trafficked,” Flores said. 
Flores, the first Mexican-born U.S. congresswoman, also released a campaign ad on Twitter, touting her family’s roots in South Texas and the value of family. “I’m running to help restore the American Dream, secure our borders, and stand strong on our values of God, Family and Country,” she tweeted.

Last week, The Texas Tribune <a href="https://www.texastribune.org/2023/07/06/mayra-flores-congress-nrcc/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) had been recruiting Flores to run again for the seat, which Democrat Rep. Vicente Gonzalez currently holds. Gonzalez <a href="https://www.texastribune.org/2022/11/08/vicente-gonzalez-mayra-flores-texas-34/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">garnered</a> 52.7% of the vote in November compared to Flores’ 44.2%. Despite Flores winning the special election months earlier, redistricting before the November election was a significant factor in Gonzalez&#8217;s win, according to The Texas Tribune.

An NRCC poll from late May showed Flores tied with Gonzalez in a hypothetical matchup, but according to the Cook Political Report, the 34th District currently <a href="https://www.cookpolitical.com/cook-pvi/2023-partisan-voting-index/118-district-map-and-list" target="_blank" rel="noopener">favors</a> Democrats by 9 points.

The CHC <a href="https://www.texastribune.org/2022/10/26/mayra-flores-congressional-hispanic-caucus/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">confirmed</a> Wednesday that Flores was denied entry, in part, because she&#8217;s a Republican, after Townhall first <a href="https://townhall.com/tipsheet/juliorosas/2022/10/26/mayra-flores-prevented-from-joining-the-hispanic-congressional-caucus-n2615023" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> on the reason for the rejection based on sourcing.

The caucus is exclusively made up of Democrats, and refuses to accept Republicans, including Flores, the Texas Tribune noted. The CHC, the report noted, was originally founded in 1976 and made up of both Republicans and Democrats, but the group fractured during the 1990s. Republicans left the CHC to form the Congressional Hispanic Conference in 2003.
“In 2003, led by Rep. Diaz Balart, GOP Members split from the CHC to form the Congressional Hispanic Conference. Per our bylaws, the CHC is now for Democratic Members,&#8221; CHC spokesperson and communications director Sebastian Roa said in a statement sent to The Daily Wire.

Flores has been on the receiving end of Democrats&#8217; numerous attacks, including some centered around her Mexican heritage.

Rep. Vincente Gonzales (D-TX), the Democrat congressman who ran against Flores for her <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/texas">Texas</a> House seat, paid a blogger who referred to his opponent as “Miss Frijoles,” “cotton-pickin’ liar,” and even more vile insults, according to <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2022-election/miss-frijoles-attack-roils-latino-heavy-congressional-race-texas-rcna38787">report</a> from NBC published over the summer.
Gonzales paid $1,200 to the McHale Report Blog on June 24 for “advertising services.” After the payment, the blog has repeatedly and viciously attacked Flores, calling her “Miss Frijoles” over 20 times, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/democrat-paid-advertiser-attacks-mayra-flores-as-miss-frijoles-miss-enchiladas" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Wire</a> reported.
“My far left opponent, Vincent Gonzalez, hired a local blogger to run hateful &amp; racist ads against me,” Flores <a href="https://twitter.com/MayraFlores2022/status/1549093565317406721">tweeted</a> at the time. “But, I love frijoles &amp; I grew up eating frijoles. I am not embarrassed of my upbringings &amp; frijoles w/tortillas de harina is simply the best. Here’s to Miss Frijoles 2022.”
Jerry McHale, who runs the blog, has accused Flores of being a “Trump fanatic” and defended his attacks as just part of the political game. He also posted on May 13, prior to the check from the Gonzalez campaign, “Does Flores want Trump to come &amp; take her p****?”
The blog also included other attacks against Flores, including vulgar descriptions of her vagina and labeling her “Miss Enchiladas” and similar terms. Included in other posts is conversation with a friend who discusses not wanting to spend the night with Flores because of concerns about “rotten p****.”

Flores was referencing blogger Jerry McHale, who <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/democrat-paid-advertiser-attacks-mayra-flores-as-miss-frijoles-miss-enchiladas" target="_blank" rel="noopener">received</a> campaign funds from Gonzales for &#8220;advertising services.&#8221; After the payment, the blog repeatedly and viciously attacked Flores, calling her “Miss Frijoles” over 20 times.
Gonzales currently serves as the Congressional representative in Texas&#8217; 15th Congressional District and now is trying to unseat Flores in Texas’ 34th Congressional District.
The campaign ad featuring the allegedly doctored photo slammed Flores for voting against first the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, which she opposed because it would implement red flag laws.In late September, Flores introduced the Reduce Gun Violence Act.
&#8220;The safety and well-being of our future, our children, is the number one priority of all parents across America,&#8221; she said at the time. &#8220;As the mother of four children, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about this. If we can afford to send billions of dollars overseas, the least we can do is secure our children’s schools and provide them with adequate resources.&#8221;
She proposed funding her legislation through the use of unobligated funds already appropriated for the IRS.
“Instead of hiring thousands of IRS tax enforcement agents to go after hard-working American families, I want to see these funds be used to secure our schools, hire more school resource officers, and help train teachers and students on school safety best practices,” Flores asserted.
The bill <a href="https://flores.house.gov/uploadedfiles/rgv_one-pager_bill_summary.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">allocated</a> $2 billion annually over five years to the DFOJ’s Byrne-Jag program and the COPS program “to harden the physical security of our nation’s schools.” It required the creation of a school safety task force headed by the U.S. Attorney General.

Gonzalez falsely claimed late this week during an event at Shotz bar in Brownsville, Texas, that Republicans &#8220;stole&#8221; the election.
&#8220;Our democracy is at stake,&#8221; Gonzalez claimed. &#8220;There&#8217;s millions and millions of dollars from outside our region and outside our state that are coming here to try to steal our elections and take away your value and take away the process that we rely on, which is elections. And we don&#8217;t have the resources to compete with these outside resources. We can&#8217;t compete with the Koch brothers, we can&#8217;t compete with big oil, and big tobacco, and the NRA. They can outspend us, but they can&#8217;t outwork us.&#8221;

Rep. Mayra Flores (R-TX) called on the Hispanic community during an interview on Tuesday to tune out the future takeover of 18 Spanish-language AM and FM radio stations bankrolled by left-wing billionaire George Soros.
&#8220;He wants the Hispanic community to forget about God and family values,&#8221; Flores said during an interview on &#8220;<a href="https://open.spotify.com/episode/6h7gAtELkJMISqA32IYprA?si=bbc6cdc80c9c4073">The Truth with Lisa Boothe</a>&#8221; podcast. &#8220;That&#8217;s what the far left wants us to do, and I&#8217;m calling on the Hispanic community, fight for your Abuelo&#8217;s values — fight for your parent&#8217;s values that were instilled in you that live in us, and instill those values into your kids and into your grandkids.&#8221;
Latino Media Network announced last month that the company signed &#8220;one of the largest single acquisitions of stations by a Latino owned and operated company in history&#8221; in a $60 million all-cash deal with TelevisaUnivision. The still-pending acquisition would take over 18 radio stations in ten of the nation&#8217;s largest media markets to reach approximately one-third of the U.S. Latino population.
The network reportedly secured equity investments from investors and debt financing for the acquisition from Lakestar Finance, which affiliates itself with Soros Fund Management.
Soros has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in left-wing politicians and at least 75 progressive prosecutors across the U.S. to transform the criminal justice system with radical policies and anti-police narratives.
One of the network&#8217;s founders, Stephanie Valencia, <a href="https://latinomedianetwork.com/news/latino_media_network_lmn_launches_to_build_content_creation_and_distribution_company_to_reach_latino_market/">said</a>, &#8220;with minority media on the decline, now is the time to be investing in more resources to create content for Latinos by Latinos.&#8221;
A 2021 Pew Research <a href="https://www.pewresearch.org/journalism/fact-sheet/hispanic-and-black-news-media/">chart</a> shows Spanish news radio stations&#8217; revenue has declined over the last decade by roughly half a million dollars.
Valencia said as the Latino population drives the growth in the United States, they continue to navigate what&#8217;s happening in the world and their place in it.
However, Steve Cortes, who previously served on the Hispanic Advisory Council for President Trump&#8217;s campaign, told<a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/george-soros-hispanic-radio-stations-reeks-desperation"> Fox News</a> he believes with the population moving away from the Democratic Party, Soros&#8217; latest project indicates liberals &#8220;rightly fret about the incredible gains among Hispanics for the America First Movement.&#8221;
&#8220;The radicalism of the Democrats today has effectively left formerly Dem-leaning Latinos as political orphans,&#8221; Cortes told Fox News Digital. &#8220;Hispanics increasingly rally to the America First combination of cultural conservatism plus patriotic populist economics.&#8221;
Integrated Communication and Research, a public opinion and market research consulting company based in Miami, Florida, recently published a <a href="https://app.box.com/s/ecygirvsu4yuqszvvrxv7y7yvpg0ee6d">poll</a> that showed Democrat-leaning Hispanics have considered leaving the party &#8220;by a double-digit margin.&#8221;
Jorge Arrizurieta, the Spanish-language conservative Americano Media president, told <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/elections/poll-hispanics-arent-flocking-gop-democrats-still-problems-rcna20794">NBC News</a> the &#8220;results showed good news, but not great news, for the Republican Party and conservative candidates.&#8221;
&#8220;We confirmed what we thought might be true,&#8221; Arrizurieta said. &#8220;Hispanic voters are moving toward the center-right, but continuing this trend will require engagement by the party and its candidates.&#8221;
&#8220;Republicans must show up in the Hispanic community,&#8221; he added.
Rep. Flores, who previously voted Democrat, said she ditched the party when she realized the it did not align with her beliefs, such as her standing for God, the unborn, and family.
&#8220;I was not aware, to be honest with you, what each party stood for,&#8221; Flores said. &#8220;I voted Democrat because most people in the Hispanic community do vote Democrat, but once I realized what each party stood for, I realized that my values aligned with the Republican Party.&#8221;
Flores said many Hispanics had walked away for other reasons — especially on the cultural and economic front.
&#8220;I am blown away because that wasn&#8217;t the Democrat Party,&#8221; she said. &#8220;They&#8217;ve gotten so far left,&#8221; noting they completely abandoned American values and the Hispanic community.
&#8220;I just don&#8217;t recognize that party anymore,&#8221; she added.
Flores said she asks the Hispanic and American communities to pledge their loyalty to God, family, and each other instead of aligning themselves with political parties.
&#8220;Because this is really a battle against good versus evil,&#8221; she said. &#8220;And them wanting to take everything away from us.&#8221;

Rep. Vicente Gonzales (D-TX) responded to a report Wednesday accusing him of paying a blogger who used racist and vulgar language to refer to his fellow Rep. Mayra Flores (R-TX), who he is running against in November.
The blog McHale Report repeatedly referred to Flores, a Latina Republican, as &#8220;Mis Frijoles&#8221; and also speculated as to whether she wanted former President Donald Trump to grab her genitals. Gonzales, who paid $1,200 to the blog on June 24 for &#8220;advertising services,&#8221; tweeted a statement condemning the blog and denying that he paid for political attacks against Flores.
&#8220;We advertise on many platforms and have no control over their editorial content,&#8221; Gonzales said in a tweet. “We do not pay for political attacks, and we will not be advertising on this platform again.&#8221;
Gonzales said he condemns the offensive remarks on McHale&#8217;s website, while not letting the opportunity to criticize former President Trump slip away in the statement.
He said his campaign denounces the blogger&#8217;s attacks just like they denounce Trump&#8217;s so-called &#8220;racist rants&#8221; referring to Mexicans as rapists and murderers — a false narrative propagated by legacy media.
&#8220;If only Rep. Flores has the courage to do the same,&#8221; Gonzales added.
Gonzalez&#8217;s campaign also denounced the language used by McHale.
&#8220;Of course, the congressman is against referring to Rep. Flores as &#8216;Miss Frijoles&#8217; or a &#8216;cotton-picking liar,’” said Collin Steele, Gonzalez&#8217;s campaign manager.
Despite the denial from both Gonzalez and his campaign, records show that after paying for the advertising services, the blog attacked Flores, calling her &#8220;Miss Frijoles&#8221; over 20 times.
Jerry McHale, who runs the blog, has accused Flores of being a &#8220;Trump fanatic,&#8221; and defended his attacks as just part of the political game.
His blog also included other attacks against Flores, including vulgar descriptions of her vagina and labeling her &#8220;Miss Enchiladas&#8221; and similar terms. McHale also posted a conversation with a friend who discusses not wanting to spend the night with Flores because of concerns about &#8220;rotten p****.&#8221;
&#8220;I am a liberal Democrat. And it&#8217;s war against the Republican,&#8221; McHale told NBC. &#8220;I&#8217;m going to be merciless with her.&#8221;
McHale, who received $1,000 from Gonzales last year in a separate payment, has not run any advertisement yet for the congressman on his blog.
Last month, Flores won a historic special election race in Texas to become the representative for Texas&#8217; 34th District. She became the first Republican to represent the area since 1870, and the first Mexican-born congresswoman.
Flores responded with a statement saying that her &#8220;historic win will bring back God to the halls of Congress!&#8221;
&#8220;This win is for the people who were ignored for so long!&#8221; she said. &#8220;This is a message that the establishment will no longer be tolerated!&#8221;
&#8220;We have officially started the red wave!!,&#8221; she said, adding &#8220;#TX34 God, Family, Country.&#8221;

The Democrat congressman <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/2022-midterms">running</a> against Republican <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/mayra-flores">Mayra Flores</a> for a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/texas">Texas</a> House seat paid a blogger who refers to the Hispanic candidate as “Miss Frijoles,” “cotton-pickin&#8217; liar,” and even more vile insults, according to a new <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2022-election/miss-frijoles-attack-roils-latino-heavy-congressional-race-texas-rcna38787">report</a> from NBC. 
Rep. Vincente Gonzales (D-TX) paid $1,200 to the McHale Report Blog on June 24 for “advertising services.” After the payment, the blog has repeatedly and viciously attacked Flores, calling her “Miss Frijoles” over 20 times.
“My far left opponent, Vincent Gonzalez, hired a local blogger to run hateful &amp; racist ads against me,” Flores <a href="https://twitter.com/MayraFlores2022/status/1549093565317406721">tweeted</a> on Monday. “But, I love frijoles &amp; I grew up eating frijoles. I am not embarrassed of my upbringings &amp; frijoles w/tortillas de harina is simply the best. Here&#8217;s to Miss Frijoles 2022.” 
Jerry McHale, who runs the blog, has accused Flores of being a “Trump fanatic” and defended his attacks as just part of the political game. He also posted on May 13, prior to the check from the Gonzalez campaign, &#8220;Does Flores want Trump to come &amp; take her p****?&#8221;
The blog also included other attacks against Flores, including vulgar descriptions of her vagina and labeling her “Miss Enchiladas” and similar terms. Included in other posts is conversation with a friend who discusses not wanting to spend the night with Flores because of concerns about &#8220;rotten p****.&#8221;
“I am a liberal Democrat. And it’s war against the Republican,” McHale told NBC. “I’m going to be merciless with her.”
&#8220;If you entertain any illusions of winning, you&#8217;re going to have to run on stronger issues that being baptized Miss Frijoles. In your rebuttal to the Miss Flores&#8217; designation, you expressed your love for frijoles. Be careful and don&#8217;t eat too many because you&#8217;ve already done enough farting out of your mouth,&#8221; one of the diatribes against Flores <a href="https://themchalereport.blogspot.com/2022/07/trump-rips-mayra-la-macha-flores.html?view=magazine">reads</a>.
McHale, who has been paid by Gonzalez before, has not run any advertisements yet for the congressman on his blog leading to questions about the nature of the “advertising services” he is being paid for. He received $1,000 in compensation from Gonzales last year. 
Democrats, including Gonzalez’s campaign, have said that they do not support the language used by McHale. 
“Of course, the congressman is against referring to Rep. Flores as ‘Miss Frijoles’ or a ‘cotton-picking liar’,” said Collin Steele, Gonzalez’s campaign manager. 
The blog also includes other objectionable content, such as use of the n-word.

Outspoken conservative <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">actor</a> James Woods bashed <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/new-york-times">The New York Times</a> after the paper ranted that new Rep. Mayra Flores (R-TX) is a “far-Right Latina.”
Flores flipped a district in the Rio Grande Valley to the Republican Party and became the first Latina Republican to be sent to Congress from Texas.  In an article titled “The Rise of the Far-Right Latina,” The Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2022/07/06/us/politics/mayra-flores-latina-republicans.html">wrote</a> hopefully, “Her abbreviated term lasts only through the end of the year, and she is seen as a long shot to win re-election to a full one.”
“You scared, guys?” Woods tweeted. “She ran on family, hard work, and patriotic values. Oh, right. Of course you’re scared.”

“Her campaign slogan — ‘God, family, country’ — was meant to appeal to what she calls the ‘traditional values’ of her majority-Hispanic district in the border city of Brownsville,” the Times mocked disdainfully.  “She called for President Biden’s impeachment. She tweeted QAnon hashtags. And she called the Democratic Party the ‘greatest threat America faces.’”
Flores was elected to fill the vacancy left after a Democratic congressman retired. She will seek re-election in November for a full term, running against Rep. Vicente Gonzalez (D-TX). “Democratic leaders are optimistic that Mr. Gonzalez will defeat Ms. Flores,” The Times puffed.
The Times predictably quoted a Latino Democratic representative who patronized that Flores’ victory was a “public relations coup” for Republicans. “It does not mean she represents mainstream Hispanic voters,” Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) condescended.
In June, a poll from Quinnipiac University <a href="https://twitter.com/GiancarloSopo/status/1534650597470789634?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1534650597470789634%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailywire.com%2Fnews%2Fnew-left-of-center-poll-shows-seismic-shift-in-hispanic-political-support">asked</a> Hispanic respondents, “If the election were today, would you want to see the Republican Party or the Democratic Party win control of the United States House of Representatives?”
Respondents favored Republicans by 3 percentage points, 41% to 38%.
In May, a Quinnipiac University poll <a href="https://poll.qu.edu/poll-release?releaseid=3846">found</a> President Biden’s support among Hispanics had plummeted in the last 12 months to less than half of his approval numbers the year before.
Quinnipiac University’s poll in May 2021 found Biden’s approval rating among Hispanics riding high at 55%. But the poll released in May 2022 revealed that number had plunged to 26%, barely more than a quarter of Hispanics.
“Biden is less popular among Hispanics than any other demographic, including age and gender,” Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/biden-hispanic-approval-rating-plummets">noted</a> of the poll’s results.
A paltry 27% of Hispanics approved of Biden’s economic policies, a percentage even lower than the 32% of Americans nationwide. Hispanics ranked inflation as the most pressing issue concerning them.
In March, Axios <a href="https://www.axios.com/2022/03/24/latino-democrats-inflation-poll">reported</a> that their poll showed inflation had replaced COVID as the major source of concern among Hispanics.

Flores&#8217; daughter seemed unfazed by the whole situation, continuing to smile and moving back to her original spot as soon as Pelosi dropped her arm back to her side.

Earlier this month, Tesla CEO <a href="http://dailywire.com/topic/elon-musk">Elon Musk</a> announced that he would <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/elon-musk-has-a-super-bad-feeling-about-the-economy-wants-a-massive-layoff-at-tesla">lay off</a> 10% of the electric automaker’s staff due to his “super bad feeling” about the <a href="http://dailywire.com/topic/economy">economy</a>. According to electric vehicle news outlet <a href="https://electrek.co/2022/06/20/tesla-lay-off-head-lgbtq-diversity-elon-musk-woke-mind-virus/">Electrek</a>, Bobby Berretta-Paris — the volunteer “President of LGBTQ+” at Tesla who worked as a recruiter — was among those who lost their jobs. Berretta-Paris included &#8220;President of LGBTQ+&#8221; on his LinkedIn page, although it is unclear what the designation entailed.
An unnamed engineer, who volunteered as a “Diversity and Inclusion Leader,” was also let go. Electrek made clear that both separations were part of the &#8220;broader wave of layoffs,&#8221; but repeated that both employees had received multiple promotions in their relatively short tenures, seemingly indicating that their performance was not a cause for concern.
Large corporations frequently enforce a progressive social and political agenda under the guise of “diversity, equity, and inclusion” initiatives. Technology companies are <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/woke-corporations-really-hate-diversity-of-thought-new-viewpoint-diversity-score-reveals">particularly intolerant</a> of conflicting worldviews outside of leftist orthodoxy. However, a recent poll conducted by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/poll-by-two-to-one-margin-investors-reject-woke-companies-pushing-political-causes">Echelon Insights on behalf of The Daily Wire</a> revealed that American investors — by a two-to-one margin — disapprove of companies leveraging their financial power for political or social means.
As Electrek noted, the layoffs come amid Musk’s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/get-woke-go-broke-elon-musk-says-woke-mind-virus-makes-netflix-unwatchable-as-shares-plummet-20">concerns</a> about the “woke mind virus,” which he believes to be “the biggest threat” to civilization. Days earlier, rocket company SpaceX — which Musk also runs — <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/get-woke-go-broke-spacex-fires-employees-who-wrote-a-letter-blasting-elon-musks-behavior-and-values">fired multiple employees</a> who circulated a letter criticizing the billionaire entrepreneur for his “behavior” and “values.”
“Elon’s behavior in the public sphere is a frequent source of distraction and embarrassment for us, particularly in recent weeks,” the letter asserted. “As our CEO and most prominent spokesperson, Elon is seen as the face of SpaceX — every tweet that Elon sends is a de facto public statement by the company.”
The authors also said that “it is critical to make clear to our teams and to our potential talent pool that his messaging does not reflect our work, our mission, or our values,” demanding that SpaceX “swiftly and explicitly separate itself from Elon’s personal brand.”
The day after the letter circulated, an email from SpaceX President and COO Gwynne Shotwell — who has often <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/spacex-president-tells-employees-she-does-not-believe-elon-musk-sexual-misconduct-allegations">defended</a> Musk from spurious allegations — said that the employees had been canned.
“The letter, solicitations and general process made employees feel uncomfortable, intimidated and bullied, and/or angry because the letter pressured them to sign onto something that did not reflect their views,” Shotwell wrote. “We have too much critical work to accomplish and no need for this kind of overreaching activism.”
The separations at both companies came days after Musk made headlines for announcing that he <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/elon-musk-tips-hat-toward-ron-desantis-to-be-next-president-of-the-united-states">cast his ballot</a> for Mayra Flores — a Mexican-American Republican congressional candidate who won a historically Democratic district in southern Texas — after earlier announcing that he would vote Republican in this year’s midterm elections.
