After teasing her upcoming album, Madonna, 67, stepped out at Coachella’s final weekend, practically matching in lingerie with 26-year-old <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sabrina-carpenter">Sabrina Carpenter</a>. Maybe age is just a number, but when you’re relying on whatever fabric got the job of separating the world from your hoo-hoo, we’re all faced with the fact that sex doesn’t sell well as celebrities age. 
Almost half a century after the <a href="https://www.grammy.com/news/madonna-like-a-virgin-anniversary-queen-of-pop">Queen of Pop</a> made history by rolling around in a 1980s cutout tunic, leggings, and a rosary-as-a-necklace for “<a href="https://youtu.be/s__rX_WL100?list=RDs__rX_WL100&amp;t=133">Like A Virgin</a>,” Madonna’s elderly eroticism feels less provocative and more “drunk mom talent show.” 
Madonna last appeared at Coachella back in 2006 singing “<a href="https://youtu.be/P24CuD5HgU0?list=RDP24CuD5HgU0&amp;t=18">Hung Up,</a>” which opens with the hypnotic line, “Time goes by so slowly.” This year, the sprightly sexagenarian returned to duet “<a href="https://www.youtube.com/shorts/tGOQfrnu1AE">Vogue</a>” and “<a href="https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Ew3V6ELiZgE">Like A Prayer</a>” during Carpenter’s set. One of Madonna’s old lyrics goes, “Oh God, I think I’m falling.” Slightly catchier than “<a href="https://www.youtube.com/shorts/mMoq-hx9xnM?t=29&amp;feature=share">I’ve fallen and I can’t get up</a>” from that retro medical alarm ad. 
I promise I’m not ageist. But after Madonna popped a <a href="https://youtu.be/1pTfyERUvSE?t=89">squat on stage</a>, I was legitimately impressed that she was able to stand up just as fast as her 20-something co-star. Whatever she’s on, it’s working. I only hope my knees work as well when my AARP card arrives in the mail.
Maybe Madge was trying to relive her glory days in the same purple boots, corset, and <a href="https://www.instyle.com/madonna-bodysuit-stockings-first-coachella-20-years-2026-11953336">Gucci jacket</a> from the last time she stopped by Coachella, but she’s still got it. Or she’s got the shapewear for it. Still, as Madonna continues to dabble in a “<a href="https://youtu.be/nozX2rl3gaM?t=43">custom grills</a> and shaving-my-<a href="https://www.jezebel.com/madonna-and-the-case-of-everyones-missing-eyebrows-1850077892">eyebrows</a>-off” era, not everyone’s convinced that if ya got it, you should definitely flaunt it. Especially once you’ve aged out of overflow parking behind the fountain of youth. 
“We are stuck with all the geriatrics who don’t know when to sit down,” someone posted on <a href="https://x.com/madameheretic/status/2045462497990234405">X</a>, post-Chella. Another observed on <a href="https://www.facebook.com/PopCultureUpdates/posts/madonna-faces-online-criticism-after-appearing-during-sabrina-carpenters-coachel/983686374013042/">Facebook</a>, “[Madonna] seemed to have a problem walking down the stairs during ‘Vogue’ and seemed quite out of breath during ‘Like A Prayer.’”

But the lackluster response from a live audience obsessed with <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/Fauxmoi/comments/1sp81s4/comment/ogz8uwh/?utm_source=share&amp;utm_medium=web3x&amp;utm_name=web3xcss&amp;utm_term=1&amp;utm_content=share_button">recording</a>, not dancing, proved Madonna didn’t stick the landing. A <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/Fauxmoi/comments/1sp81s4/comment/oh02blb/?utm_source=share&amp;utm_medium=web3x&amp;utm_name=web3xcss&amp;utm_term=1&amp;utm_content=share_button">Redditor</a> posted, “They honestly probably barely know anything about Madonna &amp; definitely don’t know those songs.” 
Maybe the most candid moment happened when <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@billboard/video/7629991357205024031">Madonna said</a> of Carpenter, “She’s a magician. She’s gonna make me disappear,” as she was lowered offstage through the world’s slowest trap door. “Madonna, everybody,” Carpenter said with Gen Z enthusiasm. As far as the Coachella crowd was concerned, Madonna had just vanished from existence. 
So if it doesn’t inspire new audiences, and it raises the eyebrows of your established fanbase, why are aging stars obsessed with clinging to their once-sexy looks? Don’t call it a comeback; call it “empowerment” — but with the adverse effect of making these former trailblazers even less relevant. 
I’d love to cite the entire “Real Housewives” franchise as an example, but the Orange County cast’s 2025 trip to “<a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DP4SacvCcna/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;ig_rid=2ceab72d-8ec6-4fea-8884-629168b2d053">AmsterD*MN</a>” proves the point. Allegedly egged on by producers, the ladies hit the streets in lacy cutout looks that left little to the imagination (as tourists dressed in age-appropriate khaki pants and Tevas observed). Fellow Bravo star <a href="https://www.realitytea.com/2025/10/27/jeff-lewis-drags-rhoc-cast-fashion/">Jeff Lewis</a> commented, “How do we get the message across … that they need to start dressing more appropriately? I feel like, dress your age … it’s time to start covering up.” While some suggested that Lewis should zip it, <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@just_bookin_around/video/7564514358684912926">others</a> agreed. “Omg! Yes!!!! Thank you, Jeff, it&#8217;s trashy AF.”
With roughly 11 years of youth on Madonna, <a href="https://share.google/vzedNSwjdug5kla9v">Jennifer Lopez</a> has also never met a <a href="https://youtu.be/pILCn6VO_RU?t=552">bedazzled bodysuit</a> she didn’t like. Looking fit and fierce at 56, she seems nowhere near closing up shop on Jenny from the Block. She sees the hate, <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@oldiesvibe/video/7589901366387150110?_r=1&amp;_t=ZP-92gPTtinF3G">explaining</a> on stage during her Vegas residency, “I can just ignore a lot of it.” When a fan asked why she was “always naked,” she replied, “If you had this booty, you’d be naked, too,” before strutting away so fans could get a good look, slightly obscured by her beaded skirt. 
The most gorgeous woman at Coachella wasn’t Madonna, Sabrina Carpenter, Kylie, or Kendall Jenner, Teyana Taylor, or even Hailey Bieber. According to social media’s fickle barometer, the “most beautiful woman alive” was an Australian influencer named <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/04/14/lifestyle/influencer-leah-halton-dubbed-most-beautiful-girl-at-coachella/?dicbo=v2-RWJUId5">Leah Halton</a>. Don’t know who she is? It won’t matter in a few days that her thrashed boho desert looks had Instagrammers dubbing her so “<a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DXEFZzbFQrD/?igsh=MWt4azZna3F0dXBsdQ%3D%3D&amp;img_index=8">perf</a>” she had to be AI.
Maybe the real problem for stars like Madonna and JLo is that the fresh faces making headlines limit our bandwidth for appreciating their hard work. (I’m tired just thinking about the time and dedication required to keep up those figures.) But there seems to be a way to age more gracefully in the public eye without the gaudy costuming and world-class narcissism.
She wasn’t at Coachella, but actress Dame Helen Mirren celebrates every hard-earned wrinkle at 80. She dresses in a way that flatters her soulful glow. But don’t patronize her by telling her she looks good for her age. “It’s insulting. We hate that compliment,” <a href="https://www.facebook.com/womenshealthmagazine/posts/you-look-good-for-your-age-is-patronizing-says-80-year-old-helen-mirren-its-insu/1155763709757653/">she says</a>. 
She appeared on <a href="https://www.allure.com/story/helen-mirren-on-aging-loreal-paris-women-of-worth-interview">Allure</a> magazine when the brand officially banned the term “anti-aging,” she’s been a longtime ambassador for <a href="https://people.com/helen-mirren-80-embodies-effortless-sophistication-in-sparkling-silver-top-at-loreal-paris-runway-11821139">L’Oreal</a>, and she has this bit of advice for the rest of us. “Women, you want to look great, but you don’t want to look 15 when you’re 55. You can’t. It’s impossible. And you don’t actually want to; you want to look like a beautiful, cool, energetic … 55-year-old!” As for life at 80, she does whatever fabulous thing she wants, adding, “F*ck it, I&#8217;m alive,” for as long as she’s here.

A new animated Christmas movie “That’s Christmas,” which is geared towards families with kids, jokes about abortion as it mocks the nativity scene depicting the birth of Jesus Christ.
In the Netflix movie — from the Hollywood director of 2003’s “Love Actually,” Richard Curtis — a group of school kids decide to put on a Christmas play complete with three wise women instead of three wise men, and instead of animals, the shepherds herd vegetables, <a href="https://cbn.com/news/entertainment/animated-netflix-christmas-movie-kids-mocks-nativity-jokes-about-aborting-baby">CBN reported</a>.
The production opens with one of the kids explaining that the story won’t be “boring,” like Christmas stories they’ve seen in the past.
“He [Jesus] wouldn’t have wanted us to do the same boring Christmas story year and year, right parents?” the child asked. “He’d want a strictly vegetarian, multi-cultural fun fest with lots of pop songs and stuff about climate change.”

However, the scene that is getting the most attention involves the child playing the role of Mary, Jesus’ mother, who carries a watermelon with a face on it that is supposed to be baby Jesus. 
The character Mary sings a solo rendition of Madonna’s 1986 song, “Papa Don’t Preach.” In the song, the pop star is singing about the choice of a teen girl to not abort her child after becoming pregnant.
At the end of the song, the child holds up the watermelon, which is then accidentally knocked to the floor by another child, and the insides of the watermelon squirt out all over the audience.
After the performance, the parents are asked to share their thoughts, and one says, “I don’t think Jesus and jokes go together, dear.”
The movie is <a href="https://cbn.com/news/entertainment/animated-netflix-christmas-movie-kids-mocks-nativity-jokes-about-aborting-baby">described</a> as “an unforgettable Christmas” for the people of Wellington-on-Sea, a fictional seaside British town, where “the worst snowstorm in history alters everyone’s plans — including Santa’s,” the outlet noted.
The reviews on <a href="https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/that_christmas/reviews?type=user">Rotten Tomatoes</a> seemed to be mixed, with many who watched it saying it wasn&#8217;t for kids.
“This movie uses the same concept as Cocomelon,” one person wrote. You&#8217;ll never see a shot longer than 6 seconds. Don&#8217;t watch with kids.”
Another person wrote, “Really poor. It was just a box ticking exercise, we got Santa in there, naughty kid who really is nice, bumbling idiot dads, trunchbull who is nice really, kids left to fend for themselves, etc I think there wasn’t enough made of the main characters of Danny &amp; Sam it seemed a little strained for flow. Certainly my kids weren’t overly impressed. I don’t think it will be one we watch again next year.”

The pop singer headed to <a href="https://www.instagram.com/madonna/">Instagram Stories</a>, where she shared a photo of a cake that included a message saying, “F*** Trump.” 
“Stuffed my face with this cake last night,” she wrote in text across the image. A second story showed a selfie and said in the text caption, “Trying to get my head around why a convicted felon, rapist, bigot was chosen to lead our country because he&#8217;s good for the economy?”
Madonna had indicated she was voting for Harris last week, writing in a social media <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DBy6oG3xgI7/?hl=en&amp;img_index=1">caption</a>, “Paris was so FUN! It was hard to leave, but I had. to come home.to V.O.T.E. [Kamala Harris] For. President!!!!”
The singer had also previously expressed her feelings about Trump at the Women’s March in Washington, D.C., in January 2017, when she said she thought “an awful lot about blowing up the White House.”

Other musicians and celebrities have been expressing their dismay at Harris’ big loss to Trump. Billie Eilish put on a show Wednesday night and addressed the election, saying, “I kind of couldn’t really fathom doing the show on this day, but the longer the day went on, I kind of had this just feeling of like it’s such a privilege that I get to do this with you guys and that we have this in a time like right now.”

Singer <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">Courtney Love</a> had some criticism for some fellow <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/music">recording artists</a>, which she candidly shared during a recently published <a href="https://www.standard.co.uk/culture/courtney-love-bbc-6-music-interview-taylor-swift-b1151094.html">interview</a> with U.K.-based outlet The Standard.
The 59-year-old took aim at <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/taylor-swift">Taylor Swift</a>, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lana-del-rey">Lana Del Rey</a>, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/madonna">Madonna</a>, and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/beyonce">Beyoncé</a> specifically.
“Taylor is not important,” Love told the outlet of the global pop star. “She might be a safe space for girls, and she’s probably the Madonna of now, but she’s not interesting as an artist.”
The alt-rocker said she and the Material Girl don’t get along, either. 
“I don’t like her and she doesn’t like me,” Love said of Madonna. “I loved [the 1985 American comedy-drama film] ‘Desperately Seeking Susan,’ but for the city of New York as much as her.”
At another point in the interview, the former Hole band member said she’s also not a fan of Beyoncé’s new album, Cowboy Carter. 
“I mean, I like the idea of Beyoncé doing a country record because it’s about black women going into spaces where previously only white women have been allowed, not that I like it much. As a concept, I love it. I just don’t like her music,” she explained.
She also voiced her critique of Grammy-nominated singer Del Rey: “I haven’t liked Lana since she covered a John Denver song, and I think she should really take seven years off. Up until ‘Take Me Home Country Roads,’ I thought she was great. When I was recording my new album, I had to stop listening to her as she was influencing me too much.”

Love went on to say that contemporary artists overall sound too much alike. “It’s great that there are so many successful women in the music industry, but lots of them are becoming a cliché,” she told the outlet. “Now, every successful woman is cloned, so there is just too much music. They’re all the same. If you play something on Spotify, you get bombarded with a lot of stuff that’s exactly the same.”
Love is best known for her rise to fame in the alternative and grunge scenes of the 1990s as a member of the band Hole, plus for her marriage to fellow rock star Kurt Cobain. She also appeared in several films in the early 2000s.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/madonna">Madonna</a> is responding to two fans who filed a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lawsuit">lawsuit</a> against the pop singer for starting her concert three hours late.
<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/music">Concert</a> attendees Michael Fellows and Jonathan Hadden sued Madonna and concert organizer Live Nation for false advertising when the singer didn’t take the stage until hours past the scheduled start time on December 13 at Barclays Center in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/new-york">Brooklyn</a>. The two fans argued that concertgoers suffered hardship because of the late start.
The lawsuit claims they were “confronted with limited public transportation, limited ride-sharing, and/or increased public and private transportation costs at that late hour. In addition, many ticketholders who attended concerts on a weeknight had to get up early to go to work and/or take care of their family responsibilities the next day,&#8221; the Daily Mail <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/usshowbiz/article-13274443/Madonna-responds-late-concert-lawsuit-time.html">reported</a>. 
The document further accused Madonna and Live Nation of “wanton exercise in false advertising, negligent misrepresentation, and unfair and deceptive trade practices.”
Court documents obtained by the <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/usshowbiz/article-13274443/Madonna-responds-late-concert-lawsuit-time.html">Daily Mail</a> show Madonna filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit on Wednesday. The 65-year-old recording artist said via her lawyers that most fans understand that she’s not likely to be on time. 
“No reasonable concertgoer — and certainly no Madonna fan — would expect the headline act at a major arena concert to take the stage at the ticketed event time,” the motion filed on behalf of the pop star stated.
“Fans got just what they paid for: a full-length, high quality show by the Queen of Pop,” the document continued.
Madonna’s lawyers also presented evidence that one of the plaintiffs wrote a positively worded Facebook post after the show, saying the concert in question was “incredible as always.”

They further asserted that concert attendees are well aware of how long shows typically last. 
“The Complaint itself concedes that Madonna fans, like Mr. Hadden, would not expect Madonna to appear onstage at the printed 8:30 p.m. event time, alleging that she has a ‘years-long history’ of ‘arriving several hours late to prior concerts,’ such that ‘Plaintiffs knew or should have known that the Concerts would not start at 8:30 p.m.,’” the filing says. 
“Reasonable concertgoers also know that concert lengths vary based on numerous factors, such as the duration of the opening act and the artist’s set list for the night. So, they would not reasonably expect the night to end by 10:30 p.m. unless an advertisement or ticket says as much — and none did here.”

During her <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">show</a> at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, on Thursday, the 65-year-old pop singer directly addressed the individual from the stage. “What are you doing sitting down over there? What are you doing sitting down?” Madonna can be heard saying on video clips of the interaction. She walked to the edge of the stage to get a closer look at the offending party.
After seeing the concert attendee was in a wheelchair, the “Like a Virgin” singer quickly backtracked and apologized. “Oh, okay. Politically incorrect. Sorry about that,” she said after seeing the fan was in a wheelchair. “I’m glad you are here,” Madonna added.

Social media users wondered why someone should be called out for sitting down whether they were physically disabled or not.
“Does it matter if they’re sitting or standing? they paid for the ticket and took the time to be there? Isn’t that enough???” one account <a href="https://twitter.com/Across3Horizons/status/1766606894150439409">said</a>.
“Ok you shouldn&#8217;t be calling people out for sitting down anyways. She&#8217;s not the queen of England,” another X user <a href="https://twitter.com/TalkerReel92/status/1766615768127422795">agreed</a>. “Some people are tired or have conditions where they need to sit. You want them to leave altogether?”

The 65-year-old <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">recording artist</a> revealed the “first word” she said after experiencing a “near-death experience” and waking up from a four-day medically induced coma.
&#8220;This show every night is not really so hard on me physically. It&#8217;s hard on me emotionally because I&#8217;m really telling you the story of my life. My heart is on my sleeve,&#8221; she said from the stage of a Los Angeles stop on her Celebration Tour this week, per <a href="https://people.com/madonna-reveals-first-word-waking-up-coma-los-angeles-celebration-tour-8604667">People</a>. &#8220;I&#8217;ve fallen off a lot of horses and broken a lot of bones &#8230; but nothing can stop me.&#8221;
The singer also brought up her time in the hospital.
&#8220;I&#8217;m pretty sure that was God saying to me, &#8216;Do you want to come? Want to come up with me? [I said] no,'&#8221; Madonna added, which made the audience break into a round of laughter.
The “Material Girl” singer also related a conversation she had with her manager, Guy Oseary, about what would happen after she left the hospital.
&#8220;He said, &#8216;Well, when do you think you want to go back on tour?&#8217; I took the oxygen out of my nose. I looked at him, and I said, &#8216;In two f****ing months!&#8221; she said. &#8220;I just said it. Sometimes you just have to say sh** [and] put it out in the universe. And it happens.&#8221;
Madonna reportedly had to be revived with Narcan and spent several days in the ICU as the result of a serious bacterial infection in June 2023. The event forced her to postpone her concert tour, which she has since resumed. The Grammy Award-winner revealed more about her time in the hospital.

When can I go on tour again?&#8221; she said. &#8220;All he would say is, &#8216;Go outside in the sun&#8217; &#8230; It was so hard for me to walk from my house to the backyard and sit in the sun. I know that sounds insane, but it was difficult.&#8221;
&#8220;It&#8217;s a strange thing to finally not feel like I was in control, and that was my lesson: to let go,&#8221; she added.

The Grammy Award-winning singer was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/music">performing</a> &#8220;Open Your Heart” at the Climate Pledge Arena when the incident occurred. As Madonna began singing, one of her backup dancers started dragging her chair across the stage. That’s when the male dancer tripped while wearing high heels, causing the “Like a Virgin” singer to tumble off the chair onto the floor.
Videos of the fall show Madonna laughing it off. She got up and sat back down on the chair, though she was facing the opposite way. The singer can be heard saying, &#8220;Sh**, I forgot the words,” while the song kept playing in the background. This led to accusations of lip-syncing.

When a backup dancer brought her another chair, Madonna got back to singing, and the show went on.
Though the fall was mostly the fault of the stiletto-wearing backup dancer, this incident led fans to question Madonna&#8217;s decision to keep doing such physically demanding performances at her age. 
Images of the singer dancing on a moving platform while gripping a support pole made the rounds on social media in January. While many fans argued the pole was for her safety, others believed the performance to be risky.

Her “Celebration Tour” had to be rescheduled following a medical incident in 2023. Madonna was hospitalized in June with what her manager called a “serious bacterial infection,” and the tour was put on hold.

Two <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/madonna">Madonna</a> fans from <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/new-york">New York</a> are suing the pop singer for delaying her Brooklyn <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/music">concert</a> two hours past the scheduled start time, a move which they say caused undue hardship and stress.
Michael Fellows of Brooklyn and Jonathan Hadden of The Bronx are upset in part because they had to be up early for work the next day. That made them especially aggravated when the 65-year-old star didn’t take the stage until close to 11 p.m. at her December 13 performance at Barclays Center. The show was part of the singer’s “Celebration Tour.”
The two men filed the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lawsuit">lawsuit</a> Wednesday in Brooklyn federal court, per <a href="https://nypost.com/2019/11/27/madonna-cancels-more-madame-x-shows-due-to-overwhelming-pain/">The New York Post</a>. The document states that their tickets showed a start time of 8:30 p.m. but Madonna didn’t start her portion of the show until around 10:45 p.m.
The lawsuit accuses Madonna, entertainment company Live Nation, and hosting venue Barclays Center of “unconscionable, unfair, and/or deceptive trade practices.”
Fellows and Hadden further noted that they were “confronted with limited public transportation, limited ride-sharing, and increased public and private transportation costs at that late hour,” side effects which were blamed on the late start time, the outlet noted.
“In addition, many ticketholders who attended concerts on a weeknight had to get up early to go to work and/or take care of their family responsibilities the next day,” the document says. The plaintiffs are seeking unspecified damages and hope to create a class action suit as other performances have also started later than advertised.

This isn’t the first time the Material Girl has been sued for being tardy. In 2019, Madonna was named in a class action lawsuit which sounded very similar to this latest complaint during her “Madame X” tour. 
 “Ticketholders [have] to work and go to school the next day, which prevent[s] them from attending a concert that would end at around 1:00 a.m.,” the suit said, per a <a href="https://pagesix.com/2019/11/10/fan-sues-madonna-saying-her-concert-starts-too-late/">PageSix</a> report at the time. Plaintiff Nate Hollander accused the pop star of having a “long history of arriving and starting her concerts late.”
Madonna responded to the accusations at the time, <a href="https://twitter.com/Madonna/status/1193030826574983171">telling</a> a crowd of concert attendees at the Colosseum in November 2019, “Here’s something you all need to understand, and that is … a queen is never late.”

The 65-year-old pop singer was previously supposed to launch her new world tour on July 15 in Vancouver, British Columbia, with it running through October 8 in Las Vegas. She was hospitalized in June with what her manager called a &#8220;serious bacterial infection&#8221; and the tour was put on hold.
On Tuesday, Live Nation released the new dates for the tour celebrating her four decades of music, with the festivities now kicking off in October in London at the O2 Arena, the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/madonna-celebration-tour-dates-icu-infection-health-47f9f956ffd66d96709461519e6ea6b6" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Associated Press</a> reported.
The <a href="https://www.livenation.com/artist/K8vZ9171ub0/madonna-events" target="_blank" rel="noopener">concert site</a> showed that the majority of the pop star&#8217;s North American tour dates have been rescheduled for the end of the year and 2024, kicking off on December 13 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, and running through April.

However, five shows that were scheduled to hit large cities have been completely canceled. Those include concert dates in San Francisco, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Tulsa, and Nashville due to scheduling conflicts. Refunds will be issued.
