Former U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch tried to secretly push the Department of Defense to remove a controversial Chinese drone company from a U.S. <a href="https://home.treasury.gov/news/press-releases/jy0538">list</a> of Chinese companies that are part of the communist country’s military.
Reuters <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/us/former-us-officials-work-chinese-client-stirs-concern-over-disclosure-loopholes-2024-03-11/">reported</a> that SZ DJI Technology Co. turned to Lynch and two other former U.S. officials — former Assistant United States Attorney Michael Gertzman and Associate White House Counsel in the Obama administration Roberto Gonzalez — to get them removed from the list.
All three former U.S. officials — who now work together at the Paul, Weiss law firm — signed the letter to the Pentagon official last year and put a “confidential treatment requested” label on the letter.
DJI represents a potential threat to U.S. national security, the Pentagon <a href="https://www.defense.gov/News/Releases/Release/Article/2706082/department-statement-on-dji-systems/">said</a> in 2021.
The report noted that the letter, which it obtained a copy of, is an example of why U.S. officials are pushing to close loopholes in the law that allow lawyers and lobbyists to avoid disclosing their work for foreign companies that could be subject to U.S. sanctions.
The loophole in the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) does not require individuals involved with “commercial activities and legal representation” to disclose their work to the U.S. government.
Jim Risch, the top Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, slammed Lynch over her advocacy for entities connected to China’s military.
&#8220;It is appalling that former senior U.S. officials use their connections to serve the interests of U.S. adversaries,&#8221; Risch said.
Lynch pushed the U.S. to drop the designation immediately because the drones were already in “wide use” in the U.S.
She also requested a meeting with the department so she could address the issue.

Law enforcement officials in Alabama are investigating an apparent &#8220;suicide&#8221; by the reporter who broke the bombshell story in 2016 that former President Bill Clinton secretly met with then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch on a Phoenix tarmac in the run up to the presidential election while his wife, then-candidate Hillary Clinton, was under federal criminal investigation.
&#8220;At 8:13 a.m. Saturday, the Hoover 911 center received a call of a person down at a residence on Scout Trace. Hoover police and fire personnel arrived to find the 45-year-old [Christopher] Sign dead,&#8221; AL.com <a href="https://www.al.com/news/2021/06/christopher-sign-birmingham-tv-anchor-former-alabama-football-player-dead-in-apparent-suicide.html">reported</a>. &#8220;Hoover police Lt. Keith Czeskleba said the death is being investigated as a suicide.&#8221;
Sign, who played football at the University of Alabama, moved to a local ABC News station in Alabama in 2017 after working at a news station in Pheonix.

&#8220;It was a planned meeting,&#8221; Sign said. &#8220;It was not a coincidence.&#8221;
“[The book] details everything that they don’t want you to know and everything they think you forgot, but Bill Clinton was on that plane for 20 minutes and it wasn’t just about golf, grandkids, and Brexit. There&#8217;s so much that doesn’t add up,&#8221; he said. “He then sat and waited in his car with the motorcade, her airstairs come down, most of her staff gets off, he then gets on as the Secret Service and FBI are figuring out ‘How in the world are we supposed to handle this? What are we supposed to do?’”
Sign, who said that he received death threats over his reporting, said that the story &#8220;isn’t about Right or Left, Republican or Democrat, it’s about right and wrong and journalism.&#8221;
“My family received significant death threats shortly after breaking this story,” he said. “Credit cards hacked. You know, my children, we have code words. We have secret code words that they know what to do.”

On Tuesday, Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell made it clear that the GOP-led Senate would indeed pursue an investigation into the alleged abuses committed by federal officials during the Obama administration, asserting, “The American people deserve answers about how such abuses could happen and we intend to get those answers.”
McConnell referenced the FISA warrant calling for surveillance of former Trump campaign aide Carter Page:
<blockquote>Does any senator think it’s acceptable for any federal warrant application to include seven significant inaccuracies and omissions? This wasn’t just a run-of-the–mill warrant; it was a FISA warrant to snoop on a presidential campaign. This is just one of the realities that President Trump’s Democratic critics spent years calling “conspiracy theories” or “inventions of the president’s mind.”</blockquote>
Those seven inaccuracies and omissions included, as The Heritage Foundation <a href="https://www.heritage.org/crime-and-justice/commentary/igs-report-reveals-4-spurious-allegations-basis-fbi-spying-trump">delineated</a>:
<ol>
<li>The FBI failed to inform the FISA court that it had been notified by another government agency that Page had provided information to that agency and the FBI about some of his contacts with Russian intelligence agents and had approval of “operational contact.”</li>
<li>Stating that Christopher Steele’s prior reporting had been “corroborated and used in criminal proceedings.”</li>
<li>Eliding the fact that although Steele claimed that critical information he was reporting about Page from a “sub-source,” Steele also described this source as a “boaster” and an “egoist” who “may engage in some embellishment.”</li>
<li>Fourth, as the Heritage Foundation wrote, “To bolster Steele’s credibility, the FISA application stated that some of the information that Steele reported had appeared in an article in Yahoo News, and that Steele was not the source for that story. This implied that somebody else had the same information Steele had and could serve as independent corroboration. However, it turns out that Steele was the source for that story, and that the FBI either knew it or easily could have learned it.&#8221;</li>
<li>The FISA application did not acknowledge that George Papadopoulos explicitly denied that anyone from with the Trump campaign was collaborating with the Russians or anyone else about the disclosed DNC emails.</li>
<li>The FBI elided the fact that Page said that he never had met or spoken to Paul Manafort and that Manafort had not responded to any of his emails.</li>
<li>That Page denied meeting the Russians Igor Sechin and Igor Nikolayevich Divyekin, and denied even knowing who Divyekin was.</li>
</ol>
McConnell continued:
<blockquote>Yet here it is, in black and white, from exactly the kind of independent Inspector General that Democrats rush to embrace when convenient. Sadly, this was no isolated incident. Just recently, Attorney General Barr has had to take the incredible step of unwinding a DOJ prosecution of another former Trump advisor because the government’s case against him was unfair or distorted as well. It was largely on the basis of these proceedings that Democrats and the media spent years fixating on wild theories of Russian collusion.
But upon investigation, the Mueller investigation — remember that one?— it is those wild allegations that collapsed along with the credibility of several of these investigations that helped create the cloud of suspicion in the first place …
As if this debacle needed even more shocking behavior, I understand a federal judge may try to continue prosecuting one of these cases even though the prosecution itself wants to drop it. The judge has taken it upon himself to go browsing for other hostile parties.  Obviously, that’s subverts our Constitutional order in which the executive alone decides whether to prosecute cases …
No matter what some Washington Democrats may try to claim, you’re not crazy or a conspiracy theorist if you see a pattern of institutional unfairness toward this president. You would have to be blind not to see one. You would have to be blind not to see one.  All of this is why the Senate passed important FISA reforms in last week’s bill to help bring accountability and transparency into that flawed process, and we aren’t nearly finished.
Just yesterday Chairman (Lindsey) Graham announced the Judiciary Committee will vote on a serious new set of subpoenas so the Senate can hear directly from key players like James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Loretta Lynch, and many others to continue getting to the bottom of this.
So let me say that again: Senate Republicans are taking steps to issue new subpoenas to a wide variety of Obama Administration officials with some relationship to the abuses I’ve laid out. The American people deserve answers about how such abuses could happen and we intend to get those answers.</blockquote>

Newly released transcripts from House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff&#8217;s (D-CA) closed door Russia investigation hearings show that former Obama officials and Schiff appeared to know that there was little to no evidence that the Trump campaign colluded with Russian officials during the 2016 election.
Here is what former Obama officials testified to when asked during Schiff&#8217;s hearings if they had or had seen evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia:

<li>Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper: “I never saw any direct empirical evidence that the Trump campaign or someone in it was plotting/conspiring with the Russians to meddle with the election.”</li>
<li>Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power: “I am not in possession of anything – I am not in possession and didn’t read or absorb information that came from out of the intelligence community.”</li>
<li>Former National Security Adviser Susan Rice: “I don’t recall any intelligence or evidence to that effect.”</li>
<li>Former Attorney General Loretta Lynch: &#8220;I can&#8217;t say that it existed or not.&#8221;</li>
<li>Former Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes: “I saw indications of potential coordination, but I did not see, you know, the specific evidence of the actions of the Trump campaign.”</li>
</ul>
Despite the testimonies contained in the 53 transcripts, Schiff repeatedly promoted the now-debunked claim that the Trump campaign had colluded with Russia during the 2016 election and went as far as to <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/schiff-says-there-is-direct-evidence-of-collusion-between-trump-campaign-and-russia">say</a> that he had &#8220;direct evidence&#8221; that it happened.
Donald Trump Jr. told The Daily Wire, &#8220;Sounds like it was 53 up, 53 down. None of the former Obama admin people were able to testify that they had seen evidence of collusion. These are probably the same people that the New York Times, CNN and WaPo quote as &#8216;former US officials&#8217; saying that there totally was clear evidence of collusion.&#8221;
Clapper, who had testified that he had no evidence of collusion, said two years later when he was a paid CNN contributor, “What was the Trump campaign doing the same time was essentially aiding and abetting the Russians.”

The transcripts were released after Republicans pressured Schiff to release them and Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell informed Schiff that the transcripts were cleared to be released after redactions had been made.
Schiff reportedly <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/schiff-is-in-panic-mode-russia-probe-transcripts-to-be-released-allegedly-contradict-schiffs-claims-report-says">panicked</a> over releasing the transcripts because he knew what is is now public: that the things that he was claiming in public did not match what officials were testifying to behind closed doors.
A source close to the White House told The Daily Wire yesterday, “Schiff really is panicking In a state of panic, Schiff has been making sloppy mistakes. It was a colossally stupid mistake on his part to send his staff out to find out what role Grenell had in the process, it gave Grenell’s allies in the Intelligence Community the perfect opportunity to disclose that the redactions took place before Grenell got there. Some of Schiff’s other mistakes will play out over the next couple of days.”

Former Attorney General Loretta Lynch said during closed-door testimony on December 19, 2018, that she did not instruct former FBI Director James Comey to refer to the investigation in Hillary Clinton&#8217;s emails as a &#8220;matter,&#8221; contrary to what Comey said during public testimony in 2017.
Comey <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/17314/comey-testimony-loretta-lynch-pressured-me-james-barrett">testified</a> before the Senate Intelligence Committee on June 8, 2017, that Lynch specifically directed him to call the investigation a &#8220;matter,&#8221; and not an investigation.
&#8220;At one point, the Attorney General [Lynch] told me not to call it an investigation but instead to call it a &#8216;matter,&#8217; which confused and concerned me,&#8221; Comey said during testimony. &#8220;But that was one of the bricks in the load that led me to conclude I have to step away from the [Justice] Department if we&#8217;re to close this case credibly.&#8221;
This revelation came <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/james-comey-loretta-lynch-bill-clinton-hillary-emails-2017-5">about a month</a> after Comey testified that the tarmac meeting between Lynch and former President Bill Clinton was one of &#8220;a number of things&#8221; that concerned him about the Justice Department&#8217;s ability to &#8220;credibly complete the investigation and decline prosecution without grievous damage to the American people&#8217;s confidence in the justice system.&#8221;
In <a href="https://dougcollins.house.gov/sites/dougcollins.house.gov/files/Lynch%20Interview%2012-19-18.pdf">newly released</a> testimony from Lynch from December 2018, the former attorney general denied ever telling Comey to change how he spoke about the investigation. Zach Somers, a House Judiciary majority staffer, asked Lynch about whether she instructed Comey to use the term &#8220;matter&#8221; when referring to the Clinton email investigation. Lynch said Comey&#8217;s testimony &#8220;was the first time that he had ever indicated &#8230; that he had that impression of our conversation.&#8221;
Somers asked Lynch directly if she ever asked him to call it a &#8220;matter.&#8221; Lynch replied: &#8220;I did not. I have never instructed a witness as to what to say specifically. Never have, never will.&#8221;
When Lynch explained the background of the conversation that led Comey to claim he was instructed to call the investigation a &#8220;matter,&#8221; Lynch repeatedly used the word.
&#8220;Obviously, we wanted to testify fully, fulsomely, and provide the information that was needed, but we were not at that point, in September of 2015, ready to confirm that there was an investigation into the email matter &#8212; or deny it. We were sticking with policy, and that was my position on that,&#8221; Lynch said. &#8220;I didn&#8217;t direct anyone to use specific phraseology. When the Director asked me how to best to handle that, I said: What I have been saying is we have received a referral and we are working on the matter, working on the issue, or we have all the resources we need to handle the matter, handle the issue. So that was the suggestion that I made to him.&#8221;
Lynch further said that she was &#8220;surprised&#8221; at the way Comey characterized their September 2015 conversation and again insisted she did not directly tell him to use the term.
&#8220;I was quite surprised that he characterized it in that way. We did have a conversation about it, so I wasn&#8217;t surprised that he remembered that we met about it and talked about it. But I was quite surprised that that was his characterization of it, because that was not how it was conveyed to him, certainly not how it was intended,&#8221; she said.

The Department of Justice&#8217;s Office of the Inspector General has found that former FBI Director James Comey defied authority at various times while leading the bureau, according to a new report.
<a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/doj-watchdog-finds-comey-defied-authority-fbi-director/story?id=55670834">ABC News</a> reported on Monday that sources claim that the DOJ&#8217;s internal watchdog &#8220;explicitly used the word &#8216;insubordinate&#8217; to describe Comey&#8217;s behavior.&#8221;
The report also reportedly &#8220;rebuked&#8221; former Attorney General Loretta Lynch &#8221; for her handling of the federal investigation into Hillary Clinton&#8217;s personal email server.&#8221;

Making matters worse for Comey is the fact that disgraced former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe is now seeking an immunity deal from federal prosecutors.

They were basically using unofficial channels&#8230; to launder information, like you would launder money. Because if they put it through official channels, something would&#8217;ve happened. You know what that one thing is? They would have had to verify the information before they used it and they didn&#8217;t want to because this was a political hit job. This was not an intelligence investigation.&#8221;
Asked who else knew about this, Bongino said James Clapper, Obama&#8217;s director of National Intelligence, Obama&#8217;s Atterney General Loretta Lynch, and &#8220;of course Comey knew what was going on in this.&#8221;
&#8220;There was a very small working group of people who were involved in this political hit job on Donald Trump. &#8230; Here&#8217;s the problem,&#8221; Bongino said. &#8220;The reason Brennan&#8217;s panicking and a lot of others have gone silent is they&#8217;re not just worried about reputational harm &#8212; Brennan&#8217;s disgraced himself, he knows history&#8217;s not going to be kind to him &#8212; they&#8217;re worried about staying out of jail.
&#8220;There were criminal leaks here &#8212; criminal leaks, felonious criminal leaks,&#8221; Bongino said.
Trump also implied that former president Barack Obama knows more about the whole debacle.

Embattled former FBI Director James Comey is aiming at President Donald Trump with his memoir, &#8220;A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership,&#8221; but he may end up taking scalps he didn&#8217;t anticipate taking.
According to a &#8220;good friend&#8221; of Comey&#8217;s, Benjamin Wittes, <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/04/19/comey-friend-hints-forthcoming-report-could-be-damning-for-loretta-lynch.html">who spoke to Fox News</a>, a forthcoming report about the inner workings of President Obama&#8217;s Department of Justice will skim over Comey&#8217;s role in the Clinton emails probe and focus squarely on Attorney General Loretta Lynch, who Comey is convinced is far more responsible than he for the department&#8217;s &#8220;train wreck&#8221; of an investigation.
Wittes told Fox that &#8220;the consideration of other decision-makers, &#8216;particularly Lynch,&#8217; paint a full picture for those people who believe the probe was a &#8216;train wreck&#8217; that cost Clinton the 2016 presidential election.&#8221;
Wittes gave few further details, but claimed that Lynch was a &#8220;compromised figure&#8221; when it came to the Clintons, and that Lynch allowed Comey to &#8220;fall on that grenade&#8221; &#8212; by which he means becoming the target of blame for oddities in the Clinton email probe &#8212; and that she told him, directly, to &#8220;look beat up&#8221; about the investigation when it relaunched just days before Election Day.
He also named Lynch deputy Sally Yates as being complicit in the frame-up. &#8220;Her deputy, Sally Yates, did not persuade her to step aside. In October, when Comey decided to inform Congress of new investigative steps, both women contented themselves with staff-level messages objecting,&#8221; Wittes said.
It&#8217;s clear that Comey and Lynch are intent on getting into a war of words. Late Sunday, Lynch, sensing that Comey had laid some of the blame for his own malfeasance at her feet, fired back at the former FBI director on Twitter, suggesting that if Comey had the problems he described in his memoir, that he could have come to the Attorney General&#8217;s office for help and explanation &#8212; and he didn&#8217;t.
Wittes could certainly be trying to do some preemptive damage control for his friend, in case Lynch decides to forcefully fight back.
A civil war is brewing among anti-Trump forces. The report on the Clinton email investigation is due out within the next several months.

Comey ‘Friend’ Says Forthcoming Report Might Be Bad News For Loretta Lynch

On Wednesday, 11 members of Congress signed a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions, FBI Director Chris Wray, and U.S. attorney John Huber asking them to conduct a criminal investigation into multiple members of the Obama administration.
&#8220;In doing so, we are especially mindful of the dissimilar degrees of zealousness that has marked the investigations into Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the presidential campaign of Donald Trump,&#8221; the lawmakers wrote in a letter released by Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-FL).
The letter specifically calls for a criminal investigation into former FBI Director James Comey, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former Attorney General Loretta Lynch, former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, and anti-Trump FBI officials Peter Stzrok and Lisa Page.

In May 2017, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein wrote a memo slamming Comey for making &#8220;serious mistakes&#8221; throughout the course of the investigation.
&#8220;Almost everyone agrees that the Director made serious mistakes; it is one of the few issues that unites people of diverse perspectives,&#8221; Rosenstein <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/09/us/politics/comey-fbi-memo-rod-rosenstein.html">wrote</a>. &#8220;The way (Comey) handled the conclusion of the email investigation was wrong.&#8221;

BREAKING: Members Of Congress Call For Criminal Investigation Into Comey, Hillary, Lynch

On Sunday, former Attorney General Loretta Lynch released a statement slamming former FBI Director James Comey just hours before a blockbuster interview of him with ABC News&#8217; George Stephanopoulos is set to air.
In a 330-plus word statement, Lynch highlighted what she claims are her career accomplishments before turning her attention to Comey&#8217;s upcoming interview. Addressing the issue of the criminal investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton&#8217;s use of a private email server, Lynch wrote:

I have known James Comey almost 30 years. Throughout his time as Director we spoke regularly about some of the most sensitive issues in law enforcement and national security. If he had any concerns regarding the email investigation, classified or not, he had ample opportunities to raise them with me both privately and in meetings. He never did.

Lynch&#8217;s statement comes just hours before Comey&#8217;s interview with Stephanopoulos is set to air on ABC News. In the interview, Comey addresses his decision in October 2016 to announce that he was reopening the investigation into Clinton&#8217;s use of a private email server, just days before the election.
&#8220;I was operating in a world where Hillary Clinton was going to beat Donald Trump,&#8221; <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/29444/bombshell-comey-admits-he-reopened-hillary-ryan-saavedra">Comey says in the interview</a>. &#8220;And so I&#8217;m sure that it was a factor. That she&#8217;s going to be elected President and if I hide this from the American people, she&#8217;ll be illegitimate the moment she&#8217;s elected, the moment this comes out.&#8221;

BREAKING: Loretta Lynch Releases Statement Slamming Comey Before Interview

On Tuesday, House Oversight Committee members called for a new special counsel to be appointed to investigate crimes involving bias and FISA abuse at the Obama Department of Justice.
Making the official request to the DOJ were Republican Reps. Trey Gowdy (SC) and Bob Goodlatte (VA), the chairmen of the oversight and judiciary committees respectively.

&#8220;Matters have arisen &#8212; both recently and otherwise &#8212; which necessitate the appointment of a Special Counsel. We do not make this observation and attendant lightly,&#8221; the letter addressed to Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein begins.
&#8220;We believe that, in the case of certain decisions made and not made by the Department of Justice and FBI in 2016 and 2017, both an actual conflict of interest exists and separately, but equally significant, the public interest requires the appointment of a special counsel,&#8221; the letter continues.
The letter cites the anti-Trump dossier, paid for by the Democrats and Hillary Clinton, as being strong evidence of bias at the FBI and DOJ, considering the fact that the dossier was never vetted and was a politically-motivated document which was used in court filings.
&#8220;There is evidence of bias, trending toward animus, among those charged with investigating serious cases,&#8221; they wrote. &#8220;There is evidence political opposition research was used in court filings. There is evidence this political opposition research was neither vetted before it was used nor fully revealed to the relevant tribunal.&#8221;
Gowdy told Fox News that a special counsel is needed because &#8220;Congress doesn&#8217;t have the tools to investigate this. &#8230; We leak like the Gossip Girls.&#8221;
The letter also made mention of Inspector General Michael Horowitz, who is expected to be releasing a new report at any time over the next several weeks.
&#8220;While we have confidence in the Inspector General for the Department of Justice, the DOJ IG does not have the authority to investigate other governmental entities or former employees of the Department, the Bureau, or other agencies,&#8221; the letter states.

Conservative author and radio host Mark Levin blasted the mainstream media for their role in covering up for former President Barack Obama in regard to the highly politicized FISA warrant detailed in the recently released <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/26855/breaking-text-messages-between-fbi-agents-show-ben-shapiro">memo</a>. 
&#8220;Barack Obama had to know, at least generally, what was taking place for multiple reasons, and he&#8217;s the one the Democrats are protecting the most,&#8221; Levin said on his Monday radio show. &#8220;He&#8217;s the one the media are protecting the most.&#8221;
Levin explained how he believes that Obama is being disingenuous when the former president claims he knew nothing about the FISA warrant against then-candidate Donald Trump&#8217;s campaign.
&#8220;Number one, the Attorney General of the United States Loretta Lynch, she knew about it. She wasn&#8217;t bashful about revealing information. She met with Bill Clinton on the tarmac in Phoenix to let him know that his wife was in the clear,&#8221; said Levin. &#8220;The idea that an Attorney General of the United States as political as she was, wouldn&#8217;t inform the President of the United States what&#8217;s taking place with these FISA applications and then the FISA warrant, to me, is preposterous.&#8221;
He continued, &#8220;Number two, the deputy attorney general, at the time, Sally Yates &#8212; extremely political, as she demonstrated when she refused to defend President Trump&#8217;s refugee executive orders, which were constitutional. She refused to do it. She knew about the relevant FISA application.&#8221;
&#8220;Number three, FBI Director Comey, at the time, he knew about the FISA application,&#8221; said the radio host. &#8220;Number four, the Deputy FBI Director, McCabe, he knew about the FISA application.&#8221;
According to Levin, these factors make it highly suspicious that Obama knew nothing about what was going on in the Justice Department.
&#8220;There&#8217;s no way,&#8221; he said. &#8220;And yet he&#8217;s never asked about it. And he&#8217;s the one the Democrat Party&#8217;s protecting. And he&#8217;s the one the Praetorian media are protecting.&#8221;
