Rumors are swirling that ex-New York Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who resigned in disgrace three years ago, may run for mayor of New York City.
Cuomo has long told insiders he wouldn’t run for the position because he didn’t want to run against current NYC mayor Eric Adams, POLITICO <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2024/09/26/cuomo-mayor-adams-indictment-00181288" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. The two share a similar base of moderate, black Democrat voters.
But Adams was indicted this week, The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/nyc-democrat-mayor-eric-adams-charged-with-bribery-fraud-acting-as-foreign-agent" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>, charged with bribery, fraud, and acting as a foreign agent. He faces up to 45 years in prison if convicted on all counts.
That indictment may have changed the game for Cuomo, who resigned in 2021 following allegations of sexual misconduct by nearly a dozen female staffers. But with Adams’s legal troubles, some insiders are suggesting Cuomo may run for mayor.
“I think he’s going to run,” Chris Coffey, a former adviser to ex-Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Andrew Yang’s 2021 mayoral campaign, told POLITICO. “He was probably going to run no matter what, and a weakened, or out-of-the-race Eric Adams is a better bet for him.”
Cuomo also reached out to New York business and labor leaders last year to gauge interest in a potential mayoral run. But his spokesperson, Rich Azzopardi, says that’s not going to happen.
“Governor Cuomo has spent a lifetime in public service fighting and delivering for the people of New York — that said, the speculation is premature as Governor Cuomo believes Mayor Adams is entitled to due process,&#8221; Azzopardi told The Daily Wire.
But, POLITICO reported, Cuomo’s political team is trying to create an aura of inevitability, even after the ex-governor testified before Congress about his disastrous COVID policies, The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/andrew-cuomo-to-defend-nursing-home-covid-policy-as-congress-demands-accountability-for-13000-deaths" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. Shortly before he testified, the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic released a report that found Cuomo “edited” a state report that minimized the deaths that occurred in New York nursing homes during the pandemic, The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/andrew-cuomo-edited-report-that-minimized-covid-deaths-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
“They [Cuomo and his then-staff] want to assert that that order is exactly the same as the federal CMS, which it is not,” Rep. Marc Molinaro <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/06/11/us-news/cuomo-grilled-by-house-panel-over-nys-covid-nursing-home-deaths-dont-see-a-lot-of-remorse/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. “The state order says, ‘You shall take back individuals and you cannot deny them solely on the basis of COVID,’ which left them no option but to accept individuals that we knew would cause risk to the other patients.”

“Andrew Cuomo was attempting to shift blame for what was a clear directive,” Molinaro continued. “When they identified and knew that the order was causing great loss, they subsequently cooked the books to suggest that the numbers of those who died in nursing homes were much less than we knew.”
His handling of COVID is not the only baggage Cuomo would carry in a mayoral election. He ultimately resigned after multiple female staffers, including former adviser Lindsey Boylan, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/woman-who-accused-andrew-cuomo-of-sexual-harassment-finally-details-allegations" target="_blank" rel="noopener">accused</a> him of sexual harassment. Boylan claimed in 2021 that Cuomo sexually harassed her “for years” and that “many saw it, and watched” and that she “could never anticipate what to expect: would I be grilled on my work (which was very good) or harassed about my looks.”
“Not knowing what to expect what’s the most upsetting part aside from knowing that no one would do a damn thing even when they saw it. No one. And I *know* I am not the only woman,” she continued. “I’m angry to be put in this situation at all. That because I am a woman, I can work hard my whole life to better myself and help others and yet still fall victim as countless women over generations have. Mostly silently. I hate that some men, like @NYGovCuomo abuse their power.”
Boylan is now speaking out about a potential Cuomo mayor candidacy, saying, “There is no fight I will not take on if this monster thinks he can slime himself into power once again.”
“It already is retraumatuzing (sic),” she said in a post on X. “Frankly it never stopped being traumatizing legally because he never stops abusing. But he didn’t just abuse his women staffers. New Yorkers, Andrew Cuomo abused you too. He abused you with his constant lies, bullying, and self-promotion. For years.”

On Thursday, former New York Democrat governor Andrew Cuomo’s lawyer insinuated that the initial woman who leveled sexual harassment charges against Cuomo might have had an affair with New York’s economic development czar, later using a super-secret messaging app to text him, “I can’t wait to destroy your life” after he contradicted her claim that Cuomo <a href="https://nypost.com/2021/02/24/ex-aide-details-sexual-harassment-allegations-against-cuomo/">asked her to play strip poker </a>during a flight on his official jet.
At a virtual press conference, Attorney Rita Glavin said state Attorney General Letitia James had given her evidence that Empire State Development CEO Howard Zemsky had confessed to investigators that he and Cuomo accuser Lindsey Boylan, then his chief of staff, were “more than professional” in late 2017.
Glavin stated:
<blockquote>The Attorney General, in February of 2021, before the referral was made, not for her to do an investigation but to select independent reviewers, what she had told (former top Cuomo aide) Melissa DeRosa, was what she had heard, which was that Lindsey Boylan is not credible. But fast forward some months later, the AG’s report found that regardless of Ms. Boylan’s “political or other personal motivation for making her allegations public, we find that the factual allegations she has made are credible and are supported by the rest of the evidence in our investigation.</blockquote>
“They weren’t,” Glavin said bluntly. “The report credits Ms. Boylan’s claim that on a plane in 2017 the Governor asked Ms. Boylan to play strip poker. And they credit it on the ground that Howard Zemsky, the former head of the Empire State Development Board, had testified that he recalled the Governor making such a statement. So because of that, the AG credited Ms. Boylan.”
“Yet the report at the same time says that Mr. Zemsky initially didn’t have the slightest inkling or memory that the governor made any such comment,” Glavin asserted. “But after Ms. Boylan first made this claim — it was in a February 24, 2021, Medium essay — that same day Mr. Zemsky signed on to a public statement with three other Chamber staffers who were on that flight with Lindsey Boylan, and what they said publicly is that ‘This conversation did not happen.’ That is what Howard Zemsky said February 24, 2021.”
“But here’s what the report didn’t tell you: Later that same day, February 24, Boylan sent a threatening message to Howard Zemsky,” Glavin declared. “What the report put in is they said at some point after the Medium essay Zemsky received a threatening message, a jarring message, but they didn’t tell you it was the same day. And they never told you what that message was, and there is no excuse for that because it goes directly to the credibility of Ms. Boylan; it goes directly to the credibility of Mr. Zemsky.”
“We now know what Ms. Boylan sent to Mr. Zemsky,” Glavinb continued. “She sent to Howard Zemsky on a(sic) application, it’s a phone application and it’s called Confide. That application is encrypted; when you send a message through it, it self-destructs and the messages are screenshot-proof. Using that application, Ms. Boylan said to Howard Zemsky that same day, because he was disputing her, ‘I can’t wait to destroy your life, your s*** follower.’ &#8230; And I presume Ms. Boylan is referring to herself and knowing something about Mr. Zemsky.”
“The Attorney General’s investigators never asked Lindsey Boylan about that text,” Glavin stated. “They interviewed Howard Zemsky in July of 2021; they didn’t circle back and say to Ms. Boylan, ‘Why did you have a Confide application? Why did you send him a text that was encrypted, self-destructing and that he couldn’t take a screenshot of?’”
“When you said, ‘I can’t wait to destroy your life,’ Ms. Boylan, what did you mean? What did you have on Howard Zemsky that you could destroy his life?”
“And then after he got that text, he changed his story,” Glavin said.

Boylan’s attorney, Julie Gerchik, responded to Glavin’s claims, saying, “The former governor and his attorney are continuing their smear campaign of Ms. Boylan to punish her for being the first of multiple women to expose the governor’s misconduct. In addition to the Attorney General’s findings, the New York State Assembly hired one of New York’s top law firms to conduct an independent investigation and they concluded that there was ‘overwhelming support that the former Governor engaged in multiple instances of misconduct.’ The facts and two independent investigative reports speak for themselves.”

‘I Can’t Wait To Destroy Your Life’: Andrew Cuomo’s Attorney Claims Lindsey Boylan Used Super-Secret Messaging App To Threaten Cuomo Defender

On Monday evening, CNN anchor Chris Cuomo finally “explained” his deafening silence in recent days regarding the wave of scandals facing his older brother, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.
“Before we start tonight, let me say something that I’m sure is very obvious to you who watch my show,” Chris Cuomo <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/chris-cuomo-announces-he-cannot-cover-brother-gov-andrew-cuomo">said</a> as he opened “Cuomo Prime Time” Monday evening.
“Obviously, I’m aware of what’s going on with my brother. And obviously I cannot cover it because he is my brother,” Chris Cuomo continued. “Now, of course, CNN has to cover it. They have covered it extensively, and they will continue to do so.”
It’s almost impressive that such a short collection of words can contain such high levels of misdirection, evasion, and deceit. As we break down each sentence, the true scale of the younger Cuomo’s journalistic malfeasance becomes clear: he’s an integral part of the Cuomo cover-up.
First, let’s take a look at his initial statement, “Before we start tonight, let me say something that I’m sure is very obvious to you who watch my show.” It’s unclear how Chris Cuomo could conclude that his later statements could possibly be “obvious” to audience members given that he has been completely silent on the matter. Unless the average CNN viewer possesses psychic abilities, of course.
Next, there’s the demonstrably absurd claim, “obviously I cannot cover it because he is my brother.”
It goes without saying that familial connections between politicians and journalists are rife with potential for intellectual corruption, with the Cuomo brothers standing as ongoing proof. Throughout 2020, as Andrew Cuomo was lauded as the hero of the pandemic — with “America’s governor” even finding time during his busy schedule to write a book on leadership and accept an Emmy award for his masterful use of television — Chris Cuomo couldn’t welcome the New York governor onto his show often enough. 
“Obviously I cannot cover it because he is my brother” didn’t seem to apply when they were joking about who was the favorite son, debating who was a “meatball,” and chortling about the size of the governor’s nostrils. It certainly didn’t apply when Chris Cuomo vocally defended Andrew Cuomo during a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-ted-cruz-chris-cuomo-slug-it-out-in-explosive-interview-cruz-donald-trump-broke-you-guys">segment</a> with Sen. Ted Cruz. All while, lest we forget, he ignored the brutal impact of Gov. Cuomo’s nursing home policies.
Finally, there is the outright lie, “Now, of course, CNN has to cover it. They have covered it extensively, and they will continue to do so.” As <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/cnn-coverage-kavanaugh-allegations-fire-framing">Fox News</a> reported, CNN were actually “stone-silent” about the accusations leveled against Gov. Cuomo by former aide Lindsey Boylan “for nearly 24 hours,” and “finally covered the story online &#8230; and led with Cuomo’s denial.” 
While Chris Cuomo’s status as CNN’s leading propagandist has been cemented in place by his “obviously” speech, in some ways, he is telling the truth. Whether last year or today, Chris Cuomo’s job is clear: to protect his older brother. That involves hiding unfortunate “obvious” facts, like his failure in leadership or his alleged sexual misconduct.
While Gov. Cuomo’s fortunes have clearly changed, his younger brother’s strategy has not.

After enjoying an adoring media spotlight throughout 2020 for his award-winning “leadership,” the tide seems to be turning for New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who was described as “America’s governor” almost one year ago.
Not only is he under active investigation for his administration’s cover-up of their disastrous COVID-19 policies — which involved mandating that nursing homes admit COVID-19 positive patients — Cuomo is now facing another scandal involving accusations of sexual harassment and, reportedly, sexual assault.
Here’s a full timeline of the accusations being leveled against Cuomo.
December 7, 2020

She continued to say that “If people weren’t deathly afraid of him, they’d be saying the same thing and you’d already know the stories.”
“Seriously, the messages and texts I receive when I speak the truth about this…it’s a whole book of people who have been harmed,” she continued. “Don’t be surprised that it’s the same small group of white people sitting alongside him at every presser. The same group that he has had by him the whole time, doing his dirty work. If you’re not one of those handful, your life working for him is endlessly dispiriting. I tried to quit three times before it stuck. I’ve worked hard my whole life. Hustled – fake it till you make it style. That environment is beyond toxic. I’m still unwrapping it years later in therapy!”
Responding to one comment which read, “My ex girlfriend’s mother used to work for him and she would end every day in tears because he is such a megalomaniac,” Boylan wrote, “This is a universal story. He is a total a**hole surrounded by enablers.”
She also recalled witnessing Cuomo “demolishing” someone on the phone, who turned out to be a “famous reporter.”

Then, as <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/sexual-misconduct-allegations-surface-against-potential-biden-attorney-general-pick-andrew-cuomo">reported</a> by The Daily Wire, Boylan accused Cuomo of sexually harassing her “for years.”
“Yes, @NYGovCuomo sexually harassed me for years. Many saw it, and watched,” she said. “I could never anticipate what to expect: would I be grilled on my work (which was very good) or harassed about my looks. Or would it be both in the same conversation? This was the way for years.”
“Not knowing what to expect what’s the most upsetting part aside from knowing that no one would do a damn thing even when they saw it. No one. And I *know* I am not the only woman,” she continued. “I’m angry to be put in this situation at all. That because I am a woman, I can work hard my whole life to better myself and help others and yet still fall victim as countless women over generations have. Mostly silently. I hate that some men, like @NYGovCuomo abuse their power.”
At the time, Cuomo was reportedly being considered as Biden’s pick for attorney general.

Cuomo <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cuomo-responds-to-sexual-misconduct-allegations-a-woman-has-the-right-to-express-her-opinion">denied</a> the allegations.
“Yeah, I heard about the tweet and what it said about comments that I had made and it’s not true,” he said. “Look, I fought for and I believe a woman has the right to come forward and express her opinion and express issues and concerns that she has, but it’s just not true.”

Boylan published a piece on <a href="https://medium.com/@lindseyboylan4NY/my-story-of-working-with-governor-cuomo-e664d4814b4e">Medium</a> titled, “My story of working with Governor Cuomo,” which began with the line “‘Let’s play strip poker.’”
“I should have been shocked by the Governor’s crude comment, but I wasn’t,” wrote Boylan, saying that Cuomo made this comment while flying on a taxpayer-funded jet alongside his press aide and a state trooper.
“Governor Andrew Cuomo has created a culture within his administration where sexual harassment and bullying is so pervasive that it is not only condoned but expected. His inappropriate behavior toward women was an affirmation that he liked you, that you must be doing something right. He used intimidation to silence his critics. And if you dared to speak up, you would face consequences,” Boylan continued. “That’s why I panicked on the morning of December 13.”
Boylan explained her decision to discuss the atmosphere in Cuomo’s administration, saying that “a former Cuomo staffer confided to me that she, too, had been the subject of the Governor’s workplace harassment,” and that “Andrew Cuomo abused his power as Governor to sexually harass me, just as he had done with so many other women.”
She then referenced Assembly Member Ron Kim, who asserted last week that Cuomo had <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/dem-accused-cuomo-threat-destroy-him-latest-governor-bullying-behavior">threatened</a> to “destroy” him, and that New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio had stated that Cuomo’s bullying “is nothing new.”
“I expect the Governor and his top aides will attempt to further disparage me, just as they’ve done with Assembly Member Kim. They’d lose their jobs if they didn’t protect him. That’s how his administration works. I know because I was a part of it,” Boylan wrote.
She then began to describe her history in the Cuomo administration, joining state government in 2015 and being quickly promoted to Chief of Staff at the state economic development agency. After being appointed, a friend warned her: “Be careful around the Governor.”
She wrote of being told by her boss that Cuomo had a “crush” on her, and that “Stephanie Benton, Director of the Governor’s Offices, told me in an email on December 14, 2016 that the Governor suggested I look up images of Lisa Shields — his rumored former girlfriend — because ‘we could be sisters’ and I was ‘the better looking sister.’ The Governor began calling me ‘Lisa’ in front of colleagues. It was degrading.”
“I had complained to friends that the Governor would go out of his way to touch me on my lower back, arms and legs,” she continued. “His senior staff began keeping tabs on my whereabouts.”
Later, she stated that Cuomo “kissed me on the lips” after a “one-on-one briefing with the Governor to update him on economic and infrastructure projects.”
After saying that she resigned on September 26, 2018, Boylan wrote, “There is a part of me that will never forgive myself for being a victim for so long, for trying to ignore behavior that I knew was wrong. The Governor exploited my weaknesses, my desire to do good work and to be respected. I was made to believe this was the world I needed to survive in.”
“It was all so normalized — particularly by Melissa DeRosa and other top women around him — that only now do I realize how insidious his abuse was,” Boylan added.
After the Medium piece was released, Megyn Kelly shared the post on Twitter, saying “This is so damned brave of her,” and that Cuomo is “a disgusting bully.”

If these allegations are true, then Andrew Cuomo joins the seemingly ever-growing list of high profile Democrats whose careers have been built on abuse, bullying, and debauchery while they and their counterparts lecture others on the importance of dignity and respect.
Yet again, it seems like “Believe All Women” simply doesn’t apply to Democrats.

In mid-December, a former adviser to Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) alleged that he had sexually harassed her while she worked for him.

Boylan made her allegations at a time when Cuomo was viewed by many in the Democratic Party as a potential pick for President Joe Biden’s Attorney General, The Daily Wire reported at the time.
Cuomo <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cuomo-responds-to-sexual-misconduct-allegations-a-woman-has-the-right-to-express-her-opinion">denied</a> the allegations, saying simply: “Yeah, I heard about the tweet and what it said about comments that I had made and it’s not true. Look, I fought for and I believe a woman has the right to come forward and express her opinion and express issues and concerns that she has, but it’s just not true.”
The media dropped the story quickly, something that would not have occurred had the allegations been made against a Republican.
On Wednesday, Boylan <a href="https://medium.com/@lindseyboylan4NY/my-story-of-working-with-governor-cuomo-e664d4814b4e">wrote</a> a lengthy article on Medium detailing her allegations against Cuomo, beginning with a suggestion the government made while the two were on his taxpayer-funded jet in which he suggested they play “strip poker.”
“That’s exactly what I was thinking,” Boylan said she responded, claiming her statement was made “sarcastically and awkwardly” and that she “tried to play it cool.”
“Governor Andrew Cuomo has created a culture within his administration where sexual harassment and bullying is so pervasive that it is not only condoned but expected. His inappropriate behavior toward women was an affirmation that he liked you, that you must be doing something right. He used intimidation to silence his critics. And if you dared to speak up, you would face consequences,” Boylan wrote.
Boylan said she decided to come forward on December 13 after another former staffer confided in her that she had also been sexually harassed by Cuomo. She said the harassment began shortly after her first encounter with Cuomo, when she was “surprised by how much attention he paid me.” Boylan said her boss then informed her that Cuomo had a “crush” on her because she looked so much like his rumored former girlfriend Lisa Shields, even calling Boylan by Lisa’s name in front of coworkers.
“He said look up Lisa Shields. You could be sisters. Except you’re the better looking sister,” Boylan’s boss wrote to her in an email, a screenshot of which was included in Boylan’s article.
Boylan said she complained to friends about Cuomo constantly touching her on her “lower back, arms and legs.” She said his “senior staff began keeping tabs” on her whereabouts. She included screenshots of a text message exchange she shared with her mother in November 2016 detailing a particular instance of what she says is sexual harassment.
She claimed that Cuomo apparently left a government party in December 2016 to show her around his office. She claimed she avoided him when he was shaking hands, but “minutes later” she received a call from the governor’s body man, who took her to the Hall of Governors and into Cuomo’s office. He came in the room and began noting various things to her, one of which was a cigar box he said was given to him by former President Bill Clinton while Cuomo was the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. As Boylan noted, the “two-decade old reference to President Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinsky was not lost on me.”
She said Cuomo gave roses to female staffers on Valentine’s Day and gave her a signed photograph of himself, which was left in her office while she was not there. She claims she was promoted to Deputy Secretary for Economic Development and Special Advisor to the Governor, but she tried to turn it down to stay away from Cuomo, but she eventually accepted the promotion with the stipulation that her office remain far from the governor and his inner circle.
Boylan said the harassment was mostly words until one day after a one-on-one briefing with Cuomo where he allegedly kissed her on the lips. She said she worried people would think she only received her position because of Cuomo’s “crush” on her. She said she started speaking up and was then ostracized by the women on Cuomo’s senior team.
Boylan finally resigned on September 26, 2018.
She said that since she came forward in December, two other women have reached out with their own stories of sexual harassment from Cuomo.
“I am speaking up because I have the privilege to do so when many others do not. No one should have to be defined or destroyed by this kind of sexual harassment. Nor should they be revictimized if they decide to speak their own truth,” Boylan concluded.
