A 21-year-old leftist college student is in custody after admitting to burning a cross in Chicago’s Grant Park, saying it was a protest against the Trump administration — an act that sparked outrage from Democrats who initially called it the “seeds of racism and fascism.”
The incident first flared up on June 9. A disturbing video showed a wooden cross burning at Grant Park in Chicago. Firefighters extinguished the flames and police released photos of a &#8220;person of interest&#8221; fleeing the scene, per <a href="https://abc7chicago.com/post/1-custody-connection-burning-cross-grant-park-chicago-police-say/19308857/?ex_cid=TA_WLS_TW&amp;taid=6a314feea3997400016fe6fd&amp;utm_campaign=trueAnthem%3A+Trending+Content&amp;utm_medium=trueAnthem&amp;utm_source=twitter">ABC 7</a>.
With no suspect in custody, Democratic Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, a potential presidential contender, rushed to judgment. 
“The fact that it even occurred at all speaks to what happens when the seeds of racism and fascism grow unchecked in our country,” <a href="https://chicago.suntimes.com/news/2026/06/11/pritzker-summons-words-of-the-late-rev-jesse-jackson-to-decry-cross-burning-in-grant-park?utm_source=chatgpt.com">Pritzker said</a>, appearing to blame the arson on the political Right. “The threats are real. And in times like these, it’s easy to fall prey to despair, to think that the fight for justice is just too costly to engage in, that the mountain is too high to climb and the path is too narrow to navigate.”
Then came the twist. 
On Monday, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQhCFLw1p80">NBC Chicago</a> identified University of Illinois Chicago senior Merlin Lu as the suspect in the cross-burning arson, who admitted to constructing and burning the cross and placing a red hat — symbolizing MAGA hats — on top in a protest against the Trump White House.
For decades, the Ku Klux Klan (KKK), a white supremacist group, used cross burnings to intimidate black communities. 
&#8220;How did you land on a burning cross?&#8221; reporter Chuck Goudie asked.
&#8220;Just it came up to my head one day. I wanted to find something that I could do by myself, like no organization, no friends,” Lu said. &#8220;I did know about this historical relevance beforehand, but I didn&#8217;t know the severity, how racially motivated it may seem from what I did.”

Last week, Lu sent a scripted video to the local NBC affiliate, claiming responsibility for the cross burning. In his statement, he made alarming comments about President Donald Trump.
&#8220;I don&#8217;t want to wait till his term ends,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I don&#8217;t wanna wait until he may or may not get impeached. I want him gone right now.&#8221;
“On that video, are you threatening him?” Goudie asked. 
“No,&#8221; Lu replied. 
Goudie said back: “You say that you think he should be brought to an end.”
“I think no, I said, I said he deserves to stand trial to the American people,” Lu responded.
Goudie pressed again: “You use the word end.&#8221;
“That’s what I mean. By end, I don’t mean like a civil war, if that’s the imagery that you’re trying to imagine,” Lu said. 
The college senior said he was trying to send a message to Trump and what he called “MAGA Christian nationalist supporters.” 
“He’s just scamming people,” Lu said. “And I think that&#8217;s a great reflection of how this country works right now, where money controls everything. Money has power over health care, money has power over transportation.” 
Even with Lu in custody and his intentions known, Mayor Brandon Johnson <a href="https://x.com/WesternLensman/status/2066936632243007877?s=20">said</a> the incident is &#8220;a painful reminder of how hatred towards black Americans still permeates in our society.&#8221;
 The FBI is investigating to determine whether the arson amounts to a hate crime.

Every time I read a post or article from a mainstream leftist, I endure the five stages of grief. 
First comes denial, that something so deranged, so tone-deaf, so nakedly divisive could have been stated publicly in the first place. Then rage, that anyone could feel entitled to say such things at all. Then bargaining — a naive, fleeting hope that if I just explained it calmly, they&#8217;d stop spreading the lies. When that fails, I am hit with a wave of sadness at the state of this country, and the Left’s iron refusal to reflect. And finally, I accept, again and again, the reality of the leftist mind. They are unchanging, unreasonable, and utterly immune to consequence. Sighs. Scrolls.
All of this happens within 30 seconds of reading a typical lefty post, and it happened again Sunday afternoon, when our feeble, smug, former divider-in-chief Barack Hussein Obama took to his social media accounts to pretend that he had absolutely no idea what could have motivated another attempt on President Trump&#8217;s life.
Yes Barack. It’s a mystery, wrapped in a puzzle, wrapped in an enigma, wrapped in a riddle! Bangs head against wall repeatedly.
It couldn’t possibly have anything to do with the fact that the gunman described Trump as a “pedophile, rapist, and traitor” — the exact language parroted by Obama&#8217;s closest allies, and spelled out explicitly in the shooter&#8217;s own manifesto. No, no. Couldn&#8217;t be.
Obama has to feign ignorance, because the alternative is honesty, and an honest tweet from Barack Obama would read something like: “For the last eighteen years, my party and I have systematically divided this country, using inflammatory rhetoric, identity-based grievance-stoking, and outright lies to make you all hate each other. This has culminated in a surge of Left-wing violence. Sorry!” 
He’ll never write that post.
Instead, he’ll continue to play dumb, while our sitting president, his cabinet, and virtually every prominent conservative in the country fear for their physical safety. That’s the daily reality of American political life, and Obama helped build it.
For my younger friends who have only ever known the media&#8217;s soft-focus, golden-hour portrait of the Obama years: they lied to you.
In 2008, he promised healing. “There are no red states or blue states. Only the United States.&#8221;
Members of the media will often reminisce on the “good ol’ days” when he was in office. But were they all that good, or did they foment much of the hatred we see online and in reality today?
Obama repeatedly injected race into incidents before the full facts would emerge, knowingly amplifying identity-based grievances. When they arrested Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr. at his home, Obama declared the Cambridge police &#8220;acted stupidly&#8221; before a shred of evidence supported that conclusion. He personalized the Trayvon Martin shooting by saying, &#8220;If I had a son, he&#8217;d look like Trayvon,&#8221; a calculated statement not meant to comfort, but to inflame. He amplified the Ferguson narrative as it was still collapsing under its own contradictions. He pitted &#8220;the 99%&#8221; against job creators and entrepreneurs, fueling the kind of class warfare that made half the country feel like villains in their own economy. His administration’s IRS targeted conservative groups. “Punish our enemies” were the exact words he used to describe political opponents, revealing how he viewed the 60 million Americans who disagreed with him.
What started as a promise of unity became a master class in division.
And the movement he midwifed — Black Lives Matter, the mainstreaming of political rage, the normalization of viewing your political opponents as existential threats rather than fellow citizens — did not evaporate when he left office. It metastasized.
Far from becoming a graceful elder statesman, Obama remains one of the most actively divisive voices in American politics. In recent speeches, he has attacked the Trump administration as a “clown show” of “lawlessness and recklessness,” dripping with “mean-spiritedness and just plain craziness,” while framing Republicans as an existential threat to democracy itself. Instead of calling for calm when conservatives are literally fearing for their lives, he continues to pour gasoline on the very cultural fire he helped ignite.
The man who once pledged to heal the nation can’t stop picking at the wound.
Of course, Barack Obama is not solely to blame for the toxic state of American politics. The American Left has spent the better part of a decade poisoning it alongside him.
Kathy Griffin posed for a photo holding a bloody, severed mock-up of President Trump&#8217;s head. Tim Walz — the almost-vice president of the United States, and current governor of Minnesota — publicly wished death on Trump. Sitting members of Congress have declared they&#8217;re going to &#8220;bury&#8221; Republicans under the Capitol. Left-wing cultural figures now openly platform voices calling for the murder of &#8220;capitalist motherf*ckers,&#8221; romanticizing political violence, and explicitly advocating for Trump&#8217;s assassination. And pop culture — just downstream from politics — has followed suit. Jimmy Kimmel, days before the most recent attempt on Trump&#8217;s life, delivered a fake White House Correspondents&#8217; Dinner speech with the punchline: &#8220;Mrs. Trump, you have the glow of an expectant widow.&#8221;
Did no one ever tell him that if he can&#8217;t say something nice, don&#8217;t say anything at all?
No one should be shocked that “progressive terrorists” exist. Least of all Barack Obama, as he was instrumental in creating the conditions that produce them. 
But what is shocking is the Left’s refusal to acknowledge how their incessant denigration and demonization of conservatives has led to conservatives being shot at, doxed, or attacked.
As someone who has been harassed by the online Left, I can tell you exactly what his faux-bewilderment feels like from the receiving end. It feels like someone peeing on your leg and telling you it’s raining. And it sends me into my 30-second grief spiral every time. 
 
The truth is that Obama does not want the violence to stop. He hopes that one day he’ll wake up to the “threat” extinguished by his foot soldiers and his work finally done.
That’s the progressive project. Campaign as a moderate, rule as a radical, divide and conquer, and leave the country more broken — and bloodied — than you found it.

Cory Pesaturo isn’t the typical musician in the crowd at the Grammys. 
Firstly, He’s a three-time accordion world champion and maybe the only attendee known for his work with the box-shaped instrument popular in various folk traditions. Secondly, and perhaps making him more unique in that audience, he wasn’t infatuated with Bad Bunny and the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/billie-eilish-roundly-mocked-for-stolen-land-comments-at-grammys">land acknowledgement virtue signaling</a> by millionaire celebrities.
Pesaturo shared his thoughts on his Instagram stories on February 1 as he sat in the crowd at the awards. One of the posts in question was on Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny, real name Benito Ocasio, who said during his speech: “Before I say thanks to God, I’m going to say: ICE out. We are not savage. We are not animals. We are not aliens. We are humans, and we are Americans … the hate gets more powerful with more hate.” 
“The first time in history an album with zero English wins the most important award, Album of the Year,” Pesaturo’s post said. “The guy who hates America… cheered on by those who hate America.”
A few Instagram stories watched by approximately 100-150 followers were enough to get him axed from Festa Italiana, which is scheduled for June 6-7 in San Francisco&#8217;s North Beach. It’s an annual, all-ages celebration hosted by The SFIAC Foundation, a <a href="https://sfiacfoundation.org/">nonprofit</a> that’s “focused on community events, revitalization and engagement that enhances the Italian culture and history of North Beach.”
Another post defended the idea of colonization, suggesting that without it, Native Americans would still be stuck with ancient methods. 
&#8220;Only a hundred to one hundred fifty people watch my stories,&#8221; Pesaturo insisted during an interview with The Daily Wire. 
After Pesaturo posted his Grammy commentary, a member of the festival&#8217;s board was rumored to be unhappy with the post. His closest contact at the festival called to break the news: they weren&#8217;t going to have him perform as planned at the 2026 show.
He claims the reasoning for his cancellation came down to fear from the person in charge.
&#8220;He doesn&#8217;t want to deal with the bullsh*t of the people on his board that do not want to hire me because of… what I could say,&#8221; Pesaturo explained. &#8220;They&#8217;re worried you&#8217;re going to come to the festival, not have a good time, and then start attacking us.&#8221;
Pesaturo&#8217;s cancellation is just the latest example of how the woke mob operates, not through official channels or public debate, but through back-channel pressure on people who would rather avoid conflict. The festival organizer wasn&#8217;t willing to defend Pesaturo. He preferred to cater to the ones who make the most noise.
Pesaturo, who describes himself as &#8220;anti-leftist&#8221; and “more libertarian” rather than conservative or Republican, has always been careful about where and how he expresses political opinions. 
&#8220;I do not believe in that idea at all,&#8221; he said about celebrities using their platforms to push political views. &#8220;Do you want the waitress coming over to give you French toast to say, oh, before I give you this, I want to tell you my opinion on abortion? Nobody would agree to that.&#8221;
&#8220;So I never say anything social or political at a concert,” he continued. “You will never find a clip of me saying anything remotely controversial there.&#8221; 
The only place he posts opinion content is on Instagram stories, which automatically disappear after 24 hours and are viewed by a tiny fraction of his followers.
The musician expressed shock that Italians of all people would punish him for expressing mainstream conservative viewpoints since that demographic leans heavily to the right of center. 
&#8220;Italians came here with nothing, with no welfare … were discriminated against. And it&#8217;s the ultimate pull yourself up by your bootstraps legacy that Italians came here,&#8221; Pesaturo told The Daily Wire. &#8220;So they&#8217;re mostly conservative. They hate free money going out. They hate paying taxes.&#8221;
Organizers for the festival did not return The Daily Wire’s request for comment.
The musician is particularly upset that this happened with Festa Italiana. Pesaturo mentioned another festival he headlines annually that’s &#8220;as left as it gets,” mentioning how he has no problems there despite having opposite political views compared to almost everyone involved. &#8220;The head of the festival is pretty left. And we&#8217;re very good friends. And I&#8217;m the headliner every year.&#8221;
When I asked if he would change anything he posted, his answer was unequivocal: &#8220;No, I mean, this is what I told him. I said I will not be silenced. Especially when everyone in my industry is forcing things upon people.&#8221;
&#8220;He just didn&#8217;t want to deal with [the drama]. It&#8217;s kind of the same story,&#8221; Pesaturo said. &#8220;They don&#8217;t want to deal with the woke bullsh** around them. So instead of fighting, they just say, yeah, we&#8217;re going to bow to them.&#8221;
And that&#8217;s how a world-class musician got canceled from an Italian festival for Instagram stories seen by about 100 people. It’s because even when conservatives are in power, standing up to the woke mob is often seen as more trouble than it’s worth.

Every year it’s the same story. Thanksgiving rolls around, and suddenly half the country is being told to feel guilty about eating turkey. According to the Left, Thanksgiving isn’t about gratitude or family — it’s a celebration of genocide, colonial oppression, and white supremacy.
That’s right. Headlines in the Washington Post and Time have called the holiday a “harmful lie” and blamed centuries of violence on the Pilgrims. In 2021, the Post ran a <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/2021/11/23/violence-root-our-thanksgiving-myth-has-been-hemispheric/">piece</a> titled, “The violence at the root of our Thanksgiving myth has been hemispheric.” In 2019, Time Magazine published an <a href="https://time.com/5457183/thanksgiving-native-american-holiday/">article</a> titled, “The Thanksgiving Tale We Tell Is a Harmful Lie.”
&#8220;Indigenous&#8221; writers and progressive outlets talk about “decolonizing” Thanksgiving, claiming that the story we learned in school—Pilgrims and Native Americans sharing a feast—isn’t just inaccurate; it’s a cruel myth hiding the truth of colonization. In 2023, The Nation published a <a href="https://www.thenation.com/article/society/thanksgiving-debate/">piece</a> arguing, “Thanksgiving’s roots are intertwined with colonial aggression.&#8221;
&#8220;I do not think we need to end Thanksgiving. But we do need to decolonize it,” it said.
Some go even further. The World Socialist Website <a href="https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2025/11/27/uynt-n27.html?utm_source=chatgpt.com">paints</a> Thanksgiving as a symbol of everything wrong with America today: millions going hungry while billionaires swim in cash, AI replacing workers, and government programs cut to the bone. For them, that turkey on your table is just a reminder of a bankrupt social order, not a family meal. And activists have signed a change.org <a href="https://www.change.org/p/end-the-wall-street-journal-s-thanksgiving-insult-to-native-americans">petition</a> telling newspapers like Wall Street Journal to stop publishing Pilgrim accounts, calling them racist. On social media, activists and progressives argue that celebrating Thanksgiving honors oppression rather than gratitude.
Conservatives, of course, see this differently. To us, Thanksgiving is about more than a history lesson — it’s about what makes America…well, America. Yes, history was messy. But it wasn’t all darkness. The Pilgrims and the Wampanoag made a treaty, shared a meal, and cooperated — a model of people from different backgrounds working together. That first feast shows grit, ingenuity, and faith in God. The Mayflower Compact? That’s the first written constitution in the New World, the kind of experiment in self-government that would later inspire the Declaration of Independence and our Constitution. Those are things worth celebrating.
We don’t deny the wrongs in history. But leftist attacks on Thanksgiving are less about truth and more about hatred of anything that celebrates America’s virtues. Gratitude, family, cooperation, hard work—these are values that built this country, not lies to hide injustice.
So when the woke brigade tells you Thanksgiving is a holiday of shame, remember: it’s really about remembering who we are, what we’ve survived, and what we can still be thankful for.
And maybe, just maybe, pass the turkey without an apology.

The far-Left outlet Teen Vogue will no longer operate as a standalone publication, with Condé Nast announcing plans to fold it into its flagship digital brand, Vogue.com.
The NewsGuild of New York and Condé Union both condemned the move, which <a href="https://www.thewrap.com/teen-vogue-layoffs-politics-team-election-day-social-reactions/">reportedly</a> led to 75% of staffers being laid off, including the entire political editorial staff. They also complained about who in particular lost their jobs.
“Management plans to lay off six of our members, most of whom are BIPOC women or trans, including Teen Vogue’s Politics Editor — continuing the trend of layoffs at Condé disproportionately impacting marginalized employees,” a joint statement from the unions <a href="https://x.com/condeunion/status/1985488830019907664">said</a>.
“As of today, only one woman of color remains on the editorial staff at Teen Vogue. Condé leadership owes us — and Teen Vogue’s readership — answers. We will get those answers. And we fight for our rights as workers with a collective bargaining agreement as we fight for the work we do, and the people we do it for,” the statement said.
The Vogue business team said in a letter that this “transition” is “part of a broader push to expand the Vogue ecosystem,” and claimed that the new, merged version of Teen Vogue, “will remain a distinct editorial property, with its own identity and mission,” per <a href="https://deadline.com/2025/11/teen-vogue-merger-vogue-conde-union-condemns-layoffs-1236606081/">Deadline</a>. 
“We are looking forward to this new chapter. In our increasingly fragmented media landscape, making all Vogue — Teen Vogue and Vogue Business — accessible in one place sets us up for growth,” Vogue’s head of editorial content, Chloe Malle, said in a statement.
Teen Vogue launched in 2003 as a sister publication to Vogue, targeting a younger demographic of women. The magazine is known for pushing a far-Left agenda on topics such as abortion, climate change, President Donald Trump, and a host of other political issues.

Having access to abortion should be your right, regardless of your parents’ beliefs.”
“You know your parents best: Do you fear for your safety if you reveal your pregnancy?” the article asked. “Are you worried they might meet you with violence or kick you out of the house? If yes, there is a legal option in 36 states that would let you get an abortion without parental approval called a judicial bypass procedure — an infantilizing holdup to which nobody should have to resort.”
“Everybody loves someone who’s had an abortion. Including you,” the article concluded.

Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro entered the lion’s den in a video posted on Thursday, taking down arguments made by 25 Kamala Harris supporters on numerous topics. 
Shapiro faced off with the leftists in a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QK-liQhqPjs" target="_blank" rel="noopener">video</a> produced by Jubilee, a media company that focuses on putting people in provocative conversations. During Shapiro’s one hour and forty minutes being surrounded by Harris supporters, the Daily Wire host destroyed emotional leftist arguments by calmly presenting a conservative point of view. 
The debate was structured so that each person in the room raced to a single chair facing Shapiro for a chance to challenge him. Whoever was in the chair could speak until either a majority of their fellow leftists voted them out by raising a red flag or until the time limit on the specific topic was reached.

Daily Wire host Michael Knowles stumped a leftist at the University of California, Berkeley, who disagreed with Knowles’ past criticisms of modern science, especially relating to transgenderism and climate change.
Knowles, who <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/michael-knowles-reveals-the-lefts-ignorance-about-hamas-october-7-attack-in-speech-at-uc-berkeley" target="_blank" rel="noopener">spoke</a> at the liberal university on the anniversary of Hamas’ brutal attack on Israel, took questions from the crowd and was asked by a student about his past statements.
“In your show, I see you often say that science is mostly fake in regards to transgenderism, climate change, cigars that might give you cancer,” the student said.
Knowles replied, saying, “Science is mostly good. Natural philosophy is good, but the notion that a little boy is actually a girl, which we call ‘science’ today … that is fake.”
The student shot back, arguing that “the most educated researchers” he has talked to “all seem to disagree” with Knowles’ view on modern science.
“So, how do you pursue evidence-based policy if you ignore so much of the evidence, or do you flip the script like your co-worker says and put your feelings over facts?” he asked.
“Which studies do you mean?” Knowles pressed.
“The fake ones, I guess,” the student responded.
“Can you cite the studies you’re talking about? … Could you name even one of them off the top of your head?” Knowles asked.
“No, you know, I just threw them all out. They’re all fake, right?” the student quipped.

“That’s my complaint with modern science is that it is fake,” Knowles said. “And you’re proving to me that it’s fake. You’re not even relying on it. You’re relying on a kind of gut intuition, which is really just a half-baked religious sense that a boy can be a girl and the sun god is going to kill us all in 12 years or whatever AOC said 15 years ago. And, unfortunately, it’s not grounded in any serious philosophy or theology or, certainly, anthropology, but it’s also not even grounded in modern science.”

Bath &amp; Body Works, which <a href="https://www.bbwinc.com/people#:~:text=Our%20more%20than%2057%2C000%20associates,that%20guide%20everything%20we%20do.">employs</a> over 57,000 people, says DEI is so important because “We all inhabit several different identities, based on our race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religious background and so much more—and we’re actively working to foster a diverse workforce that not only respects these identities, but removes any barriers to access and opportunity by continuously reassessing and updating processes within our business.” 
Bath &amp; Body Works doesn’t just talk about DEI. They practice it too. In October of 2022, the company <a href="https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2022/10/26/2542195/0/en/Bath-Body-Works-Announces-New-Chief-Diversity-Officer.html">hired</a> Kelie Charles as its “Chief Diversity Officer.” Charles, who previously worked in the DEI realm for Home Depot and Target, is in charge of “working closely with associates and senior leadership to continue to evolve and refine the company’s journey to becoming an even more diverse, equitable and inclusive organization.”
Bath &amp; Body Works claims to be a great company for women, but can they even define “woman”? The company claims to “champion diversity” by respecting all “genders” and “orientations.” That’s DEI-speak for going along with the claims of a man who wants to be a woman. 
The personal care brand also promoted LGBTQ “Pride Month,” writing, “This June, Bath &amp; Body Works welcomes Pride Month – a time of celebration and self-acceptance for the LGBTQ+ community and its allies, and a time for reflection on the progress made and the work still needed to achieve equality for all.” And of course, Bath &amp; Body Works came out with a <a href="https://www.facebook.com/bathandbodyworks/videos/its-pride-every-day-with-the-love-always-wins-collection-/433312056277221/">“Pride” collection</a> to celebrate “Pride every day.”

A group of students at the University of Florida were outraged that the college’s chapter of the Young America’s Foundation (YAF) was advertising on campus for its upcoming screening of The Daily Wire’s hit movie “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/videos/lady-ballers" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lady Ballers</a>.”
“Lady Ballers,” directed by company co-founder Jeremy Boreing, tells the story of one down-on-his-luck former high school basketball coach, Rob (played by Boreing), who will do anything to win — which in this case means teaching his team of men radical modern gender theory and leading them to identify as women in order to brutally dominate multiple women’s sports.
The YAF advertisement for “Lady Ballers” was written in chalk on a university sidewalk and informed students of an April 4 screening of the movie and a Q&amp;A with “Lady Ballers” stars and “Crain &amp; Co.” hosts Jake Crain, Blain Crain, and David Cone at Florida’s Emerson Alumni Hall. Video taken by YAF staffer Aléjandro Flores captured a woman pouring water on the chalk, attempting to erase the conservative student group’s ad, claiming it’s “transphobic” and “against women.”
Caitlyn McCoy, the University of Florida YAF chair, told The Daily Wire, &#8220;Chalking is one of the best ways we advertise our events to students, faculty, and staff on campus.”
“UF YAF’s chalk is always met with buckets of water and angry students who try to silence speech,” McCoy added. “It’s clear that there’s some students on campus who think basic biology is wrong and are fuming over a comedy film.”

In the video, the female student tells Flores “Trans women are women,” but when Flores asked if she could define what a woman is, the student replied, “Anybody who self-identifies as a woman.”
The woman was then joined by multiple other students, including a man who told Flores, “I’m sorry you guys have nothing better to do than to write transphobic comments on there.”
“It’s not transphobia; it’s just the truth and we’re announcing an event that’s coming up,&#8221; Flores responded. &#8220;The Daily Wire is bringing out ‘Lady Ballers.’”
“It’s a transphobic film against trans women, and I think that trans women should have rights,” the female student said while pouring water on YAF’s chalk message. As the leftist students began walking away, the male student told Flores, “You know, watching so much gay s*** kinda sounds gay if you know what I mean.”

Phillips’ piece was roundly mocked on social media after he condemned the young fan for wearing “blackface.” X owner Elon Musk even chimed in after a community note was placed on the article explaining that the photo used in the article only showed the side of Armenta’s face that was painted black and ignored that the other side of his face was painted red, which is the Chiefs&#8217; primary color.

Phillips called out his critics in a post on X Monday, writing, “For the idiots in my mentions who are treating this as some harmless act because the other side of his face was painted red, I could make the argument that it makes it even worse. Y’all are the ones who hate Mexicans but wear sombreros on Cinco.”
In his piece targeting the young Chiefs fan, Phillips also threw in a jab at conservatives who take a stand on cultural issues.
