Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani&#8217;s swearing in ceremonies on Thursday will combine leftism and Islam, as the 34-year-old is set to become New York City&#8217;s first Muslim mayor when he places his hand on the Quran and is given the oath of office by Senator Bernie Sanders.
Mamdani will use three different Qurans in both of his swearing-in ceremonies on January 1, The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/12/31/nyregion/mamdani-quran-inauguration-muslim.html">reported</a>. For his first ceremony at midnight on Thursday, Mamdani will place his hand on his grandfather’s Quran as well as a Quran that belonged to black history activist Arturo Schomburg, according to the Times. In his second ceremony, Mamdani will again place his hand on his grandfather&#8217;s Quran and one that belongs to another family member.
Mamdani will be sworn in by New York Attorney General Letitia James after the clock strikes midnight on January 1, while Sanders will deliver the oath of office during a ceremony later in the day, the New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/12/31/us-news/zohran-mamdani-will-become-first-nyc-mayor-sworn-in-on-quran-when-he-takes-oath-of-office/">reported</a>.
The swearing-in ceremony will break with tradition as New York City mayors throughout history have placed their hands on Bibles when they were sworn in. Mamdani will become one of the few elected officials throughout the country to use a Quran for their swearing in, joining leftist Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison and Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar.
Mamdani spoke of his Islamic faith while on the campaign trail, even delivering a tearful address on Islamophobia after he claimed that his opponents, Andrew Cuomo and Curtis Sliwa, launched &#8220;racist&#8221; and &#8220;baseless&#8221; attacks on him.

“Growing up in the shadow of 9/11, I have known what it means to live with an undercurrent of suspicion in this city,” Mamdani <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/zohran-mamdanis-islamophobia-speech-echoes-famous-norm-macdonald-joke">said</a> during his Islamophobia speech on October 24, adding, “To be Muslim in New York is to expect indignity, but indignity does not make us distinct. There are many New Yorkers who face it. It is the tolerance of that indignity that does.”
Mamdani also said that he was wrong for thinking that he could focus on his &#8220;central message&#8221; during his campaign and become &#8220;more than just my faith.&#8221;
&#8220;No amount of redirection is ever enough,” he said.
Mamdani&#8217;s election victory was <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/11/05/us/politics/mamdani-muslim.html">described</a> as a &#8220;breakthrough win for Muslim Americans&#8221; by The New York Times. Abdul El-Sayed, a Muslim Democrat running for U.S. Senate in Michigan, said of Mamdani&#8217;s election, “There is a constant effort to try and draw a small barrier around who can be American. That is what makes this moment so special.”

CBS Chief Legal Analyst Jan Crawford sharply decimated claims from the Left that the conservative-leaning Supreme Court is corrupt, describing such narratives as &#8220;patently false&#8221; and &#8220;dangerous.&#8221;
In November, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) called the Court dishonorable, telling CNN&#8217;s Wolf Blitzer: “We&#8217;re committed to driving down the high cost of living, to fixing our broken health care system and, at the same period of time, cleaning up the corruption that exists in Washington, D.C., in the Congress, at the Supreme Court and, of course, with the Trump administration, the most corrupt administration in American history.”
“I just want to be precise,” Blitzer cautioned. “You say the Supreme Court has been corrupt? Is that what you&#8217;re saying?”
“Yes, what I&#8217;m saying is that the outrageous behavior by individual justices like Clarence Thomas and Justice Alito and the failure to have an ethical code of conduct is corrupt. These are the only people in the country who can operate above the law,” Jeffries answered.
“There is a narrative that the Supreme Court is corrupt,” Crawford said on CBS News’ “Face the Nation.” “We saw that emerge in the wake of the Dobbs decision that overturned Roe v. Wade. And now we see it, that they&#8217;re ‘in the tank for Trump.’ Not only is that narrative overreported, it is patently false, and it is dangerous for the institution and the public&#8217;s faith and confidence in the rule of law.”
“This is a conservative Supreme Court,” she stated. “It has been a conservative Supreme Court for 20 years. People can disagree and do disagree with their opinions, but it&#8217;s profoundly wrong to call it – or say corruption where there, in fact, is none.”

“What&#8217;s underreported is any understanding of what this court&#8217;s been doing for the past 20 years,” she explained. “Its views of its role, vis-à-vis the other branches. How it sees the law. How it&#8217;s trying, in its focus, to restore some kind of accountability and our constitutional structure. Again, this is a court that is functional. It is consistent. They are nine justices. They don&#8217;t necessarily see the Constitution the same way by any means or how to interpret federal law. There&#8217;s a struggle over the proper way to interpret the Constitution. But that is as it should be. And I think as we approach our 250th anniversary of this country, it&#8217;s important to think about the court and their rule of law as the justices are doing, especially if we hope to keep democracy intact.”
“That&#8217;s a big statement, Jan, if we hope to keep democracy intact,” host Margaret Brennan responded. “My goodness.”
Undaunted, Crawford replied, “If we lost — if the public loses confidence in the rule of law, I don&#8217;t know what that means for democracy. And that&#8217;s why I think some of the rhetoric about corruption is so, so profoundly irresponsible.&#8221;
“And it causes threats,” CBS News correspondent Scott MacFarlane pointed out.
“Oh, yes. Which, again, I mean the justices are under tremendous (pressure), and federal judges as well,” Crawford concluded.

The Left’s successful rebranding of masculinity as “toxic” didn’t just rewrite a dictionary entry — it rewired the cultural DNA that once produced great men.
In 2018, the American Psychological Association updated its Guidelines for Psychological Practice with Boys and Men, effectively declaring stoicism, risk-taking, and competitiveness — the building blocks of masculine virtue — “<a href="https://www.apa.org/about/policy/boys-men-practice-guidelines.pdf">psychologically harmful</a>.”  
Within months, Gillette aired its infamous &#8220;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYaY2Kb_PKI">We Believe</a>&#8220; commercial, scolding ordinary dads at backyard barbecues while implying every son harbored a bully within. Seemingly overnight, &#8220;toxic&#8221; became the default adjective attached to manhood.
But this cultural ambush was decades in the making. It has its roots in second-wave feminism, which in the 1960s began reframing male strength as patriarchal oppression. By the ’80s and ’90s, freshly-minted gender studies departments were churning out theses that branded healthy male assertiveness “hegemonic.”
On television, the upstanding patriarch of “Father Knows Best” gave way to the beer-bellied, weak-willed Al Bundy. When clickbait culture arrived in the 2000s, every societal ill — from climate change to mass shootings — found a convenient culprit in “<a href="https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2018/01/17/gun-violence-masculinity-216321/">traditional masculinity</a>.”
C.S. Lewis foresaw the danger. “We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise,” he warned in The Abolition of Man — adding the <a href="https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/113211-we-make-men-without-chests-and-expect-from-them-virtue?utm_source=chatgpt.com">punchline</a> our era can’t escape: “We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst.”
The cultural costs are no laughing matter. Today, 17.6 million American children — nearly one in four — <a href="https://www.fatherhood.org/father-absence-statistic">grow up without a father in the home</a>. Their odds of suffering are grim: Barack Obama, citing Census data in 2008, <a href="https://www.politico.com/story/2008/06/text-of-obamas-fatherhood-speech-011094?">noted</a> that such children are “five times more likely to live in poverty… nine times more likely to drop out of school, and 20 times more likely to end up in prison.”
If only he did something about it.

Almost 60 years earlier, Daniel Patrick Moynihan <a href="https://web.stanford.edu/~mrosenfe/Moynihan%27s%20The%20Negro%20Family.pdf">sounded the same alarm</a>, saying, “the deterioration of the fabric of &#8230; society is the deterioration of the &#8230; family.” At the time, he was dismissed as an alarmist. The empty chairs around dinner tables prove him prophetic.
Classrooms reveal the next domino. The same ideology that pathologized masculine energy has left boys academically stranded. On the <a href="https://www.nationsreportcard.gov/highlights/reading/2022">2022 National Assessment of Educational Progress</a>, 8th-grade girls outread boys by nine scale points, continuing an unbroken gender gap that dates to 1992. Overall scores for both sexes hit the lowest level on record. 
College quads tell the same tale. Men have fallen to just <a href="https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2023/12/18/fewer-young-men-are-in-college-especially-at-4-year-schools/">44% of American undergraduates</a>, a gap that’s widened every year since 2011. UNESCO, surveying 140 countries, now calls boys’ lagging literacy a “<a href="https://www.unesco.org/en/articles/leave-no-child-behind-global-report-boys-disengagement-education">growing global crisis</a>.” Christina Hoff Sommers <a href="https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/9334744-boys-today-bear-the-burden-of-several-powerful-cultural-trends">captures the cultural headwind:</a> a school climate that “valorizes feelings and denigrates competition and risk…views masculinity as predatory. Natural male exuberance is no longer tolerated.” 
Why did “toxic masculinity” stick? Because it performed a linguistic jujitsu: attach a moral defect to the identity you want to erase, then offer “liberation” through re-education. Courage degenerates into “aggression,” leadership into “oppression,” fatherhood into “patriarchal privilege.” The outcome is predictable: abolish the virtues that civilize male strength, then lament the violence or apathy that follows.
Yet the data refuse to cooperate with the narrative. Children with involved fathers are <a href="https://www.lakeconews.com/news/community/commentary/56433-delcol-happy-father-s-day">40% less likely to repeat a grade</a>, more likely to earn As, and far less prone to behavioral problems. Even the <a href="https://www.apa.org/about/policy/boys-men-practice-guidelines.pdf">APA guidelines</a> — often cited as proof of masculinity’s hazards — concede that male risk-taking can be “harnessed for good” when directed toward service and innovation.
Harvard’s Center on the Developing Child <a href="https://developingchild.harvard.edu/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/The-Science-of-Resilience2.pdf">summarizes</a> decades of research showing that self-regulation and disciplined resilience — traits once labeled stoic — buffer children from stress and reduce lifetime mental-health risk. In other words, the same virtues our culture now brands “toxic” are the ones empirical science says we need.
Trust the science.
Conservatives bear some blame for this inversion. While we tallied marginal-tax victories, Hollywood and higher ed rewrote the story of manhood. Institutions we once guided — churches, Scouts, civic clubs — sat vacant as HR departments filled the void. The cockpit was empty. The Left merely climbed in and took control.
We didn’t arrive here by accident. The cultural collapse around masculinity wasn’t inevitable — it was permitted. While conservatives focused on policy wins and economic metrics, the Left waged a full-spectrum cultural campaign that redefined manhood itself. They infiltrated the classroom, the newsroom, and the writers&#8217; room. They turned moral virtue into pathology and repackaged fatherhood as oppression. And we let them. Not out of malice, but out of misplaced trust — that truth would prevail unaided, that tradition could defend itself, that boys would become men by default.
Now, we stand in the wreckage of that assumption. A generation of boys has been raised to doubt their instincts, to apologize for their strength, and to see their fathers as liabilities rather than legacies. This is not just a political failure — it’s a civilizational one. But it also means the stakes are finally clear. If the conservative movement wants to conserve anything worth passing down, it must begin with this: the restoration of masculine virtue. Not nostalgia. Not anger. But clarity. The recognition that the war on manhood is really a war on order, on protection, on the nuclear family.
We’re not at the end of this story — we’re at the hinge. The institutions may be hollow, the narratives poisoned, but the hunger for truth remains. And in that hunger lies our moment. Not to manage decline, but to name it. Not to tinker around the edges, but to tell the truth loudly enough that our sons can hear it. Before we rebuild, we must remember who we are — and what we allowed to be stolen in the dark.
Masculinity is not toxic — it’s virtuous. When we reclaim that distinction, we invite our sons to stand tall instead of apologizing for existing — and we give civilization the allies it deserves.

“We will use every attack to actually strengthen and expand the services available, to empower and work alongside our community members who are already doing so much good in the world and setting the example for the rest of the country.”

Her comments come on the heels of a massive Somali-tied welfare fraud scheme that was uncovered in Minnesota involving billions of taxpayer dollars being stolen from the state, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-somali-welfare-fraud-scandal-is-even-worse-than-you-think?author=Amanda+Prestigiacomo&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=The+Somali+Welfare+Fraud+Scandal+Is+Even+Worse+Than+You+Think">reported</a>.
“We believe that the Somali fraud operation in Minnesota is the single greatest theft of taxpayer dollars, through welfare fraud, in American history,” Homeland Security Advisor Stephen Miller said on Fox News. “We believe we have only scratched the very top of the surface of how deep this goes.”
The mayor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/boston-mayor-michelle-wu-blasted-for-white-jokes-at-st-patricks-day-breakfast?author=Tim+Meads&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Boston+Mayor+Michelle+Wu+Blasted+For+%E2%80%98White%E2%80%99+Jokes+At+St.+Patrick%E2%80%99s+Day+Breakfast">made her position clear</a> months after being elected to office. At a St. Patrick’s Day breakfast in 2022, Wu caught heat for joking that she was “getting used to dealing with problems that are expensive, disruptive, and white,” before quickly adding that she was allegedly referring to “snowstorms, [and] snowflakes.”
She also seemingly compared ICE agents to neo-Nazis this June. “I don’t know of any police department that routinely wears masks. We know that there are other groups that routinely wear masks. NSC-131 routinely wears masks,” Wu told reporters at the time, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/sickening-dhs-rips-dem-boston-mayors-seeming-comparison-of-ice-agents-to-neo-nazis?author=Hank+Berrien&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=%E2%80%98Sickening%E2%80%99%3A+DHS+Rips+Dem+Boston+Mayor%E2%80%99s+Seeming+Comparison+Of+ICE+Agents+To+Neo-Nazis">reported</a>.
“Mayor, just to clarify, are you comparing ICE to — you said — to NSC-131, a neo-Nazi group? Are you comparing them to a neo-Nazi group?” a reporter asked.
“What I said is that Boston police, and no police department that I know of at the local level, routinely wears masks” she replied.
The Department of Homeland Security fired back on social media, calling the apparent comparison “sickening.”

The city council in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the home of the University of Michigan, voted unanimously earlier this week to remove hundreds of neighborhood crime watch signs, arguing that the crime watch program promotes &#8220;race-based hyper-vigilance.&#8221;
The Ann Arbor City Council voted 10-0 to direct city employees to begin removing all neighborhood crime watch signs by July 15 in an effort to become more &#8220;welcoming and inclusive,&#8221; according to <a href="https://www.mlive.com/news/ann-arbor/2025/12/heres-why-neighborhood-crime-watch-signs-in-ann-arbor-are-going-away.html">MLive</a>. Neighborhood crime watch programs have been commonplace in American towns for decades, organizing residents to be on constant alert, and warning potential criminals that any suspicious activity will be reported to the police.
According to the all-Democrat Ann Arbor city council, however, the signs reinforce &#8220;race-based hyper-vigilance and suspicion particularly toward Black, Brown, and other marginalized residents and visitors.&#8221;
“These programs were often rooted in assumptions about who did and did not ‘belong’ in a neighborhood,&#8221; the city council stated, adding, “This dynamic encouraged informal surveillance practices that disproportionately targeted people of color and contributed to patterns of exclusion under the guise of public safety.”
Overall, the city&#8217;s crime rate has dropped in 2025 compared to last year, but in downtown Ann Arbor, authorities have seen a 9% <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0QhC2uTG-E">increase</a> in total crime in 2025 and an 11% jump in violent crime.
City officials said that the neighborhood watch programs in Ann Arbor are already defunct, arguing that removing the 600-plus signs throughout the city is the next logical step.
“The neighborhood watch signs that still stand across Ann Arbor really come from a different era,” said Councilwoman Jen Eyer. “They’ve become furniture, just part of the background. I drive past one every day entering my neighborhood and barely registered it until this issue was raised to me.”
But Eyer argued that a major reason for removing is that &#8220;evidence suggests that signs and practices rooted in constant vigilance can actually reinforce fear and erode neighborly trust, promoting a myth of safety rather than safety itself.&#8221;

Councilwoman Cynthia Harrison criticized the &#8220;culture&#8221; of neighborhood watch programs, bringing up the case of Trayvon Martin, a black teenager who was shot and killed in Florida in 2012 by George Zimmerman, who was a volunteer for his neighborhood watch program.
“Many of us could not talk about this culture without remembering Trayvon Martin, a young black teenager walking through a neighborhood he had every right to be in, yet perceived as a threat simply for being there,” said Harrison.
Zimmerman confronted Martin and accused him of suspicious activity in the neighborhood before Martin attacked him. Following a trial that gained national attention, Zimmerman was acquitted by a Florida jury on all charges, including second-degree murder and manslaughter.
Harrison argued that Martin was killed because neighborhood watch programs focus on surveillance over building relationships, according to MLive.
“Neighborhood watch was built on an old idea that heterogeneous neighborhoods create danger,” she said. “Ann Arbor is built on the understanding that diversity creates strength.”
Ann Arbor and the surrounding Washtenaw County are one of the most liberal places in Michigan. Recently, the Trump administration accused Ann Arbor authorities of obstructing federal immigration operations. Ann Arbor leaders rejected the Trump administration&#8217;s labeling of Ann Arbor as a sanctuary city.

She also discussed her plans to implement an “Environmental Crimes Unit” in her first term, which would focus on looking into “air pollution, water contamination, and hazardous waste management.”
“The sheriff’s office historically hasn’t been necessarily a strong champion in this work, but there’s no reason we can’t be,” Dyer added.

The Michigan Republican-controlled House used a little-known provision in state law to cut $645 million in government funding, including slashing multiple left-wing causes, last week.
The cuts were a major move for Republicans who are up against a Democrat-controlled state Senate and a Democratic governor that have pushed for bigger state budgets and a more expansive state government. Republican House Speaker Matt Hall told The Daily Wire that the cuts came after Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer asked for an extension on $2.7 billion that had been earmarked under a previous budget, but had not been spent by the end of the fiscal year.
&#8220;We had the opportunity using this law to cut more spending before Whitmer was able to put it into her slush funds,&#8221; Hall said.
The State Budget Office, which is controlled by Whitmer, sent letters to the House and Senate budget committees, requesting an extension on the $2.7 billion in funding that was not used, Bridge Michigan <a href="https://bridgemi.com/michigan-government/michigan-house-cancels-645m-in-state-spending-without-senate-ok/">reported</a>. The GOP-controlled House budget committee opposed many of the programs in the Whitmer administration&#8217;s funding request and decided to send $645 million back to the state&#8217;s general fund.
Hall accused Whitmer and Democrats of requesting &#8220;a lot more money than they need&#8221; for the budget extension, adding, &#8220;And then they keep the money and they work-project it into their slush fund, so they have it for years.&#8221;
The <a href="https://wwmt.com/news/local/645-million-programs-cut-michigan-house-republicans-work-projects-appropriations-money-politics-wwmt">biggest cut</a> was $159 million to Whitmer&#8217;s Make It in Michigan Competitiveness Fund. The fund, which Whitmer created with the approval of the state legislature in 2024, matches federal grants with the state&#8217;s job creation goals. Another target of the Republican cuts was the Community Enhancement Grants, which were denied nearly $103 million. Some of the money from the grants has gone toward a festival in Detroit to celebrate diversity, according to WWMT <a href="https://wwmt.com/news/local/645-million-programs-cut-michigan-house-republicans-work-projects-appropriations-money-politics-wwmt">News Channel 3</a>. The Community Enhancement Grants were combined under one line item, meaning Republicans had to cut all of them to slash funding for the grants that promoted diversity, equity, and inclusion goals.

Other priorities that were among the Republican cuts included over $1.2 million for a program aimed at stocking public bathrooms with feminine hygiene products. Hall told The Daily Wire that the program also requires boys&#8217; bathrooms to be stocked with tampons. Republicans also slashed funding for some of Whitmer&#8217;s green energy projects, such as her goal to build electric vehicle chargers along the coast of Lake Michigan.
Another department that took a hit from the cuts was the Office of Global Michigan, which housed a program that Whitmer used to make government handouts <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/michigan-republicans-sound-alarm-on-state-program-potentially-giving-illegal-immigrants-up-to-500-per-month-in-rental-assistance">available to illegal immigrants</a>. The Office of Global Michigan, which lost around $1.3 million in the cuts, is also riddled with diversity, equity, and inclusion goals.
Michigan Democrats blasted Republicans over the cuts, calling them &#8220;cruel&#8221; and &#8220;disgusting.&#8221; Democrats specifically called out cuts to the RxKids program, which helps some parents pay for their children&#8217;s prescriptions. Democrats also blasted Republicans for making cuts to &#8220;Wigs for Kids,&#8221; which provides wigs and other services for children going through cancer treatments. Democratic state Rep. Will Snyder said the GOP cuts were one of the most “unprecedented displays of cruelty that I’ve ever seen during my time here in Lansing,” according to <a href="https://michiganadvance.com/2025/12/11/michigan-dems-say-645m-work-project-cuts-are-cruel-gops-rylee-linting-also-calls-foul/">Michigan Advance</a>.
“This budget instrument was never intended for this purpose, and using it with such haste and scale proves the dangerous nature of crossing pre-existing and long standing-lines, even if (it was) potentially legally permissible,” Snyder said. “We are just now beginning to understand the full scope of these disgusting actions.”
“There’s a special place in hell for someone willing to yank money away from moms and babies 15 days before Christmas,” said Senate Democratic Majority Leader Winnie Brinks. “I hope Matt Hall takes this holiday season to look within himself and reevaluate what exactly he’s doing here.”
Democratic leaders also suggested that they could pursue legal action to prevent the massive cuts.
Hall brushed off the criticism from Democrats, arguing that the state could still use some of the other government funding in its &#8220;slush fund&#8221; to put toward charities, such as Wigs for Kids.
&#8220;We can reappropriate funds that have a good purpose. We can come back through a supplemental budget, and we can put it back to use,&#8221; Hall said. &#8220;But I think the Whitmer administration should come in and they should explain to us where every one of these dollars is going. Something they wouldn&#8217;t do when they were trying to prevent us from making the cuts.&#8221;

Researchers at the University of Minnesota’s Institute of Child Development are facing criticism after launching a website claiming that America is suffering from a “Whiteness Pandemic.”
The <a href="https://innovation.umn.edu/culture-and-family-life-lab/whiteness-pandemic">website</a>, created by the institute&#8217;s Culture and Family Lab, is titled, “Whiteness Pandemic Resources for Parents, Educators, and other Caregivers,” and states:

Racism is an epidemic that can also be considered a pandemic given its large cross-national proportion and spread (APA, 2020). However, there is another pandemic lurking behind and driving the racism pandemic – the Whiteness Pandemic. Whiteness refers to culture not biology: the centuries-old culture of Whiteness features colorblindness, passivity, and White fragility, which are all covert expressions of racism common in the United States. &#8230; At birth, young children growing up in White families begin to be socialized into the culture of Whiteness, making the family system one of the most powerful systems involved in systemic racism.

It continues, “If you were born or raised in the United States, you have grown up in the Whiteness Pandemic.”
The nonprofit group Parents Defending Education, which monitors political activism in schools, blasted the website as “far-left programming” reflective of a deeply entrenched diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) agenda. Rhyen Staley, the group’s research director, told Fox News that the project shows how pervasive DEI remains in taxpayer-funded institutions.

The “Whiteness Pandemic” initiative is based on a 2021 study funded by the National Institute of Mental Health and written by lab director Dr. Gail Ferguson. The abstract for the paper, which won an award from the Society for General Psychology, <a href="https://experts.umn.edu/en/publications/the-whiteness-pandemic-behind-the-racism-pandemic-familial-whiten/?utm_source=chatgpt.com">reads</a>, “Family socialization into the centuries-old culture of Whiteness—involving colorblindness, passivity, and fragility—perpetrates and perpetuates U.S. racism, reflecting an insidious Whiteness pandemic.”
The study concluded that parents’ attitudes toward race correlated with their level of “racial identity development,” suggesting that silence on racial events like George Floyd’s death reflected lower progress in “antiracism.”
Critics argue that the framing is both unscientific and overtly accusatory. The study surveyed a highly specific demographic: predominantly liberal, educated, upper-middle-class white mothers in Minnesota, raising serious questions about the generalizability of the conclusions. By defining an entire race’s culture as inherently problematic and framing all white people as contributors to systemic racism, the university is effectively assigning collective guilt based on skin color.

The Regents of the Texas A&amp;M University System voted unanimously on Thursday to adopt a policy requiring college presidents to sign off on any course that could be interpreted as pushing “race and gender ideology or topics related to sexual orientation or gender identity.”
The new policy seeks to prevent another controversy like the one that erupted at Texas A&amp;M earlier this year when an English professor was filmed pushing pro-LGBT talking points during a children’s literature course. The policy approved by regents defines race ideology as “attempts to shame a particular race or ethnicity” or anything that “promotes activism on issues related to race or ethnicity rather than academic instruction,” The Texas Tribune <a href="https://www.texastribune.org/2025/11/13/texas-am-regents-race-gender-ideology-course-audit/">reported</a>. Gender ideology is defined under the policy as “a concept of self-assessed gender identity replacing, and disconnected from, the biological category of sex.”
The policy also prohibits professors from teaching any material that is not consistent with the approved syllabus. Enforcement of the policy is set to begin at all 12 colleges in the Texas A&amp;M University System in the spring 2026 semester.
“What we’re doing is pretty simple,” regent Sam Torn told The Texas Tribune. “It’s not as complex. We’re simply making sure that we do educate, and we’re simply making sure that we teach what the course syllabus specifies that we teach.”

The children’s literature course included material that advocated for introducing leftist gender ideas to children. One of the slides in the class was titled “Let’s talk gender in children’s lit!” and argued that “Childhood is the time for figuring out how to be a boy, girl, man, woman, or another gender.”
In a phone call with the student who publicly opposed the leftism espoused in the literature course, then-Texas A&amp;M President Mark Welsh said, “There’s not a problem” with teaching LGBT literature as long as the university makes it clear it will be part of a class. When the student asked Welsh if any more changes would be made, such as firing McCoul, Welsh accused the student of attempting to “pick a fight,” adding that the university would not punish the professor.
Welsh <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/texas-am-president-to-resign-after-leftist-politics-infiltrated-university-childrens-lit-course">stepped down</a> as Texas A&amp;M president less than two weeks after the videos and details of the children’s literature class were made public. A rule implemented in September requires that all course content at each of the Texas A&amp;M System’s 12 schools be audited.
“It’s a serious system-wide review of every course, every syllabus,” Torn said on Thursday. “We are examining the body of knowledge behind each degree, low-producing programs, workforce relevance and financial stewardship.”
Rep. Harrison <a href="https://x.com/brianeharrison/status/1989310142291100113">celebrated</a> after the regents approved the new policy on race and gender ideology, saying that his use of social media to highlight the issue at Texas A&amp;M “has done more this year to combat woke indoctrination than the entire Texas House and Texas Senate… combined.”
Some professors are concerned that the policy will only add confusion.
Geography professor Andrew Klein told the board of regents, “The vagueness of the language is problematic. Faculty are now assuming that all instructions in the topic of concern will be prohibited. Will subjects like medicine, public health and law, where such content is required to prepare professionals for the Texas workforce, be disallowed?”
Philosophy professor Martin Peterson added that academics must “seek the truth,” arguing, “When we seek the truth, we sometimes have to explore ideas that touch on controversial issues.”
“It is not always clear what counts as advocating for an ideology in those contexts,” Peterson said.
European history professor Miranda Sachs argued that the new rule would prevent her from addressing certain historical topics, such as the Holocaust. Regent John Bellinger responded to Sachs’s comment, saying, “There’s got to be some common sense in this.”
“I think we’re taking it a little bit too far when [we say] that we’re not going to teach about what happened in world wars,” Bellinger said.

The Department of Justice launched a &#8220;full investigation&#8221; into the leftist demonstrations that took place outside of a Turning Point USA event at the University of California, Berkeley, Attorney General Pam Bondi announced on Tuesday.
Bondi said that Antifa was behind &#8220;violent riots&#8221; at UC Berkeley on Monday after leftist agitators showed up at the venue hours before the TPUSA event began on campus, harassing conservative attendees as they lined up for the event. The investigation is being led by the FBI&#8217;s Joint Terrorism Task Force, which focuses on international and domestic terrorism.
&#8220;Antifa is an existential threat to our nation. The violent riots at UC Berkeley last night are under full investigation by the FBI-led Joint Terrorism Task Force. We will continue to spare no expense unmasking all who commit and orchestrate acts of political violence,&#8221; Bondi <a href="https://x.com/AGPamBondi/status/1988339354754769099">wrote</a> in a post on X. &#8220;Under President Trump’s leadership, and pursuant to his Executive Order designating Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization, the Department of Justice and our law-enforcement partners are dismantling violent networks that seek to intimidate Americans and suppress their free expression and First Amendment rights.&#8221;
Two people were arrested after a fistfight broke out between one of the agitators and a man wearing a red Turning Point USA t-shirt. One person was charged with battery, but it&#8217;s unclear if the person who was charged was one of the two men who were seen fighting.

Two more people were arrested for attempting to get past a barrier police had set up to separate protesters from attendees. Some of the agitators lit flares and shouted at the conservative attendees as they waited to enter the building, and when they left after the TPUSA event ended.
The event, which was the last stop on the &#8220;This is the Turning Point” tour, went on as planned, capping off a tour that was started by TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk on September 10 at Utah Valley University, when he was assassinated while speaking to college students.
The DOJ&#8217;s Civil Rights division is also probing the leftist demonstrations at UC Berkeley, according to Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon.
&#8220;We saw all of this at Berkeley back in 2017. @UCBerkeley was sued, and settled the case. The @CivilRights will investigate what happened here, and I see several issues of serious concern regarding campus and local security and Antifa’s ability to operate with impunity in CA,&#8221; Dhillon <a href="https://x.com/AAGDhillon/status/1988272046741111268">wrote</a> on X.
UC Berkeley, which has long been one of the most liberal universities in the United States, was at the center of violent demonstrations when leftist groups protested right-wing commentator Milo Yiannopoulos’ planned speech in 2017. Dhillon brought some of the legal challenges against the university that same year over the free speech case.

Students at Michigan State University hoping to become the educators of the next generation are forced to take a race-centered course that follows &#8220;the guiding principles of the Black Lives Matter&#8221; movement and requires students to read from a book condemning &#8220;whiteness.&#8221;
Course materials obtained by the <a href="https://yaf.org/news/race-obsessed-course-forced-on-future-educators-at-michigan-state/">Young America&#8217;s Foundation</a> group on MSU&#8217;s campus and shared with The Daily Wire show that one class for future teachers pushes leftist theories on race. The introductory three-credit class, &#8220;<a href="https://reg.msu.edu/Courses/Search.aspx?CourseID=342088#Results">TE 101: Social Foundations of Justice and Equity in Education</a>,&#8221; is required for all Secondary Education majors at MSU and is typically taken before their junior year. TE 101&#8217;s course description states that it emphasizes &#8220;racial justice, equity, and social identity markers.&#8221;
The syllabus for TE 101 states that the class is &#8220;committed to the Guiding Principles of the Black Lives Matter Movement, Learning for Justice’s Social Justice Standards, and the principles of the Abolitionist Teaching Network.&#8221;
One Michigan State education major, who wished to remain anonymous, told The Daily Wire that 90-100% of the class is focused on race.
&#8220;This class is an indoctrination of modern racial ideology,&#8221; the student said.
Asked if sitting through hours of leftist ideology becomes discouraging, the student replied, &#8220;No, it actually makes me want to pursue this degree more. It makes me want to be able to teach children instead of these other people.&#8221;
&#8220;Because I feel like there is a lack of conservatives in education,&#8221; the student added. &#8220;We see how the other side has done with these students.&#8221;
The only book TE 101 students are required to read for the semester includes a section that condemns &#8220;whiteness&#8221; as a privilege that &#8220;will never allow true solidarity to take place.&#8221;
The <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Want-More-Than-Survive-Abolitionist/dp/0807069159">book</a>, &#8220;We Want to Do More Than Survive: Abolitionist Teaching and the Pursuit of Educational Freedom,&#8221; by Bettina Love, &#8220;argues that the US educational system is maintained by and profits from the suffering of children of color.&#8221; The author writes that for education reform to take place, leaders must &#8220;approach education with the imagination, determination, boldness, and urgency of an abolitionist.&#8221;
One excerpt from the book focuses on how &#8220;whiteness&#8221; cannot be included in the fight for education reform.

Whiteness is addicted to centering itself, addicted to attention, and making everyone feel guilty for working toward its elimination. Whiteness will never allow true solidarity to take place. Those who cling to their Whiteness cannot participate in abolitionist teaching because they are a distraction, are unproductive, and will undermine freedom at every step, sometimes in the name of social justice. Being an abolitionist means you are ready to lose something, you are ready to let go of your privilege, you are ready to be in solidarity with dark people by recognizing your Whiteness in dark spaces, recognizing how it can take up space if unchecked, using your Whiteness in White spaces to advocate for and with dark people. And you understand that your White privilege allows you to take risks that dark people cannot take in the fight for educational justice.”</blockquote>
Each of the three groups mentioned as being pivotal to the class has a history of advocating for radical leftist ideas. The course syllabus links to &#8220;<a href="https://www.dcareaeducators4socialjustice.org/black-lives-matter/13-guiding-principles">Guiding Principles</a>&#8221; of the BLM movement, which include radical leftist ideas on race and gender. Among the 13 BLM movement principles listed on the website for &#8220;D.C. Area Educators for Social Justice&#8221; are commitments to be &#8220;queer affirming&#8221; and &#8220;trans affirming.&#8221; The &#8220;Guiding Principle&#8221; under transgender affirmation vows to &#8220;dismantle cis-gender privilege and uplift Black trans folk, especially Black trans women who continue to be disproportionately impacted by trans-antagonistic violence.&#8221;

<a href="https://www.learningforjustice.org/about">Learning for Justice</a>, the second group listed on the syllabus, is part of the Southern Poverty Law Center, which aims to be &#8220;a catalyst for racial justice in the South and beyond, working in partnership with communities to dismantle white supremacy, strengthen intersectional movements and advance the human rights of all people.&#8221; The SPLC has been condemned for placing Christian and conservative organizations on its &#8220;Hate Map&#8221; that publicly tracks groups and individuals that it deems radical and hateful. Learning for Justice&#8217;s &#8220;<a href="https://www.learningforjustice.org/sites/default/files/2022-09/LFJ-Social-Justice-Standards-September-2022-09292022.pdf">Social Justice Standards</a>&#8221; seek to teach children as young as five years old about diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
The Abolitionist Teaching Network, another group that guides the MSU education class, encourages teachers to become activists.
&#8220;Abolitionist Teaching Network leverages teachers&#8217; and workers&#8217; power by offering resources for agitators and activists,&#8221; the group <a href="https://www.ewlhub.org/professional-development-resource-guide/abolitionist-teaching-network-">states</a>.
Another MSU education student who previously took TE 101 and spoke to The Daily Wire on condition of anonymity, said that the hyper-focus on race continues in courses beyond TE 101, especially in &#8220;<a href="https://reg.msu.edu/Courses/Search.aspx?CourseID=342088#Results">TE 102: Pedagogy and Politics of Justice and Equity in Education</a>.&#8221;
&#8220;I&#8217;ve had to write papers on different identities. You can choose race, gender, sexuality, income status. I think the goal is to have most students write about their whiteness,&#8221; the student said. &#8220;They teach that white people can&#8217;t see their identity. The core tenet of these classes feels like white people, especially white men, are the number one objection to what stands in the way of a better education system and a better society.&#8221;
The conservative student group, Young America&#8217;s Foundation, which first highlighted TE 101 at MSU, called the course&#8217;s content &#8220;divisive and discriminatory.&#8221;
&#8220;This kind of rhetoric only pushes Americans further apart, and is not only a waste of taxpayer money at a publicly funded university, but also a waste of students’ time,&#8221; Michigan State YAF added in a statement. &#8220;Do we really want our future educators teaching our children that an entire race is evil?&#8221;
Michigan State defended the class. A spokesperson for the university told The Daily Wire that the course &#8220;aligns with national teacher preparation standards, and its associated curriculum is reviewed through well-established academic governance processes at the department, college, and institutional level.&#8221; The spokesperson added that courses and curricula are approved by the department, which requires sign-off from the dean, and then approval by an independent curriculum committee.
Courses and curricula are also reviewed by the Office of Accreditation, Assessment, Curriculum, and Compliance and the University Curriculum Committee. After those reviews, the University Curriculum Committee votes for final approval.
&#8220;Michigan State University remains firmly committed to academic freedom, scholarly inquiry, and the preparation of educators who are well equipped to serve all students,&#8221; the MSU spokesperson added.
Since coming into office in January, President Donald Trump has signed executive orders seeking to crack down on DEI teachings at public universities. The Trump administration has <a href="https://apnews.com/article/trump-dei-universities-investigated-f89dc9ec2a98897577ed0a6c446fae7b">launched</a> investigations into dozens of universities across the country over accusations that they pushed DEI programs on students and faculty, which led to racial discrimination.

In Part II, Xi Van Fleet and Sasha Gong — both activists, scholars, and survivors of Mao’s communist uprising — broke down the endless cycle of victimization that fuels perpetual revolution, and has been embraced by the American Left.
Today, the authors take up the question of women. The American Left, it turns out, is not the first revolutionary movement to encourage androgyny and shame women for being traditionally feminine. Indeed, as our authors, show, destroying womanhood is essential to the revolutionary project.

The story of women under radical Marxist ideology is the story of beauty turned to beast.
Mao Zedong’s wife, Jiang Qing — known in the West as Madame Mao — was once celebrated as a symbol of feminine beauty. In 1930s Shanghai, the so-called “Hollywood of the East,” she gained fame as a rising movie star, embodying the glamour and grace traditionally associated with Chinese womanhood.
But Shanghai was also a hub for progressives, Communist sympathizers, and fellow travelers — and Jiang Qing was soon drawn into their orbit.
In 1937, at the age of 23, Jiang Qing — like tens of thousands of other progressive youths — traveled to Yan’an, the Communist stronghold in the loess hills of northwestern China, to join the revolution. There she quickly caught Mao Zedong’s attention, leading him to set aside his guerrilla fighter wife and marry the former movie star. 
As Jiang Qing bound herself to Mao and the Communist revolution, she began to shed her feminine image: cutting her long hair short, trading dresses for shapeless military uniforms, and abandoning the aura of a glamorous actress.
This transformation was not simply personal; it reflected a broader ideological demand. In Yan’an, and later in Beijing, the revolution required individuals to dissolve their identity into the collective. As Mao’s political power grew, Jiang’s own image moved ever further from the ideals of Chinese traditional femininity.
By 1966, when Mao launched the Cultural Revolution, Jiang’s metamorphosis was complete. Elevated to unprecedented authority as “Chairman Mao’s greatest standard-bearer,” she emerged as a hardened, gender-neutral revolutionary warrior, wearing a distinctly masculine haircut and clad only in a Mao suit or military uniform.
Jiang Qing became the model for all Chinese women to emulate. Feminine qualities were denounced as toxic, bourgeois, and reactionary, and women were expected to abandon not only the ornaments of beauty but the very essence of femininity itself — as lovers, wives, and mothers. Mao himself praised this new ideal in verse: “China’s daughters hold uncommon resolve; they love not splendid ornaments, but the arms of revolution.”
Nowhere was this more stark than in the Red Guard movement: thousands of teenage girls, who might once have sung, studied, or courted love, instead shouted slogans, wielded clubs, and became torturers and killers.
The Red Guard was responsible for the first murder of the Cultural Revolution — the brutal beating to death of their principal at a Beijing girls’ high school — an act that unleashed the nationwide violence which would claim tens of millions of lives.
It was in that era that both of us passed through girlhood, adolescence, and the bloom of youth, devoid of all femininity.
We were told, and we believed, that women could hold up half the sky, and that whatever men could do, we could do even better. We strove to become Iron Girls — the Chinese version of the superwoman — taking on the hardest tasks while training ourselves to look, speak, and act like men. Family, children, and motherhood were pushed from our minds; all that mattered was proving ourselves as revolutionaries.
Sadly, defeminization left deep scars on the women of our generation, eroding many of the traditional Chinese virtues of womanhood: tenderness, modesty, nurturing, grace, and devotion to family. Our generation, unlike our Western counterparts, grew up without dreams of a fairytale love story or a perfect wedding. 
When some of us later came to the West, we shattered the stereotype of what an Asian woman was expected to be in the eyes of Westerners.
As survivors of Mao’s defeminization, we are horrified to see history repeating itself here in America. Although the process began decades ago with the rise of second-wave feminism in the 1960s, its pace has accelerated dramatically in recent years.
Radicalized young women — especially white female youth in search of identity — have taken defeminization to new extremes. The body itself becomes a canvas of protest against convention and traditional feminine beauty: blue hair, tattoos, piercings, and harsh attire announce open rebellion. One needs to look no further than the Antifa girls on the streets for living proof.
As in Mao’s China, defeminization is more than an outward transformation; in today’s woke culture it is a proud declaration of being the opposite of what family, culture, or faith once revered as good, beautiful, or sacred. In this sense, it is a total reordering of values, inscribed visibly on the body. 
What is even worse is that the defeminization of women is accompanied by the feminization of men — a topic for another time. Both trends aim to shake the very foundation of a functioning society.

From Red Guard To Blue Hair: Why Leftists Destroy Womanhood

Jihadists are not hijacking planes anymore. They are hijacking leftists. 
 
Two years ago, Hamas terrorists committed the largest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. In one night, Hamas killed 1,200 men, women, and children; raped and assaulted countless women and girls; and took 251 hostages back to Gaza.
But on this year’s anniversary of October 7, leftists took to the streets of New York City clad in keffiyehs and <a href="https://x.com/thestustustudio/status/1975683499903291713?s=12&amp;t=nnkH5SpU6p7k0VsIc0xI0A">waving Hamas’ flag,</a> <a href="https://x.com/StopAntisemites/status/1975976376026247606">chanting praises for the massacre.</a>
The scene from NYC was not spontaneous. It was another episode in a decades-long bloodless revolution. In a <a href="https://www.investigativeproject.org/document/20-an-explanatory-memorandum-on-the-general">1991 memorandum,</a> the Muslim Brotherhood, a forerunner to Hamas, detailed its strategy for jihad in America. Brother Mohamed Akram wrote:
<blockquote>The process of settlement is a “Civilization-Jihadist Process” with all the word means. The Ikhwan [Muslim Brotherhood] must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western Civilization from within. (Emphasis added).</blockquote>
The New York City rally is proof that, 35 years after Akram penned this plan, jihadists have succeeded in hijacking leftists.
Leading them are the <a href="https://canarymission.org/campaign/Mamdanis_DSA#Who-is-the-DSA?">Democratic Socialists of America</a>. The DSA boasts 80,000 members and 400 community chapters, and notable members of the party include New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and New York City Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani — who, on the campaign trail, <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/10/18/us-news/mamdani-appears-smiling-arm-in-arm-with-imam-siraj-wahhaj-93-wtc-bombing-co-conspirator/">posed for a picture</a> with an unindicted conspirator in the deadly 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
The DSA’s leaders explicitly say that their group exists to “eliminate and destroy Western civilization from within.” <a href="https://canarymission.org/campaign/Mamdanis_DSA#Current-Leadership:~:text=%E2%80%9Ca%20unique%20responsibility%20to%20act%20from%20the%20heart%20of%20empire%2C%20the%20belly%20of%20the%20beast%2C%E2%80%9D%20adding%20that%20%E2%80%9Cthe%20most%20important%20thing%20that%20we%20can%20do%20is%20take%20that%20empire%20down%20from%20within.%E2%80%9D">Francis Gill</a>, an elected board member, said the DSA has “a unique responsibility to act from the heart of empire, the belly of the beast” to take the “empire down from within.”
Ahmed Husain, director of activism for the DSA, said in a web seminar: &#8220;We&#8217;re inside the home of empire &#8230; As they [Hamas] fight there, we fight here &#8230; we&#8217;re doing our part our duty in this fight against empire.&#8221; Sounds familiar.
In June, leader <a href="https://x.com/snackvampire/status/1933397152442822730">Mirah Wood tweeted</a>: “Death to Israel, death to America.”
This leftist-jihadi alliance makes almost no sense — American leftists should recognize the glaring illiberality of radical Islam. <a href="https://www.independent.co.uk/asia/south-asia/afghanistan-taliban-bans-women-mid-wives-education-work-b2659927.html">In Afghanistan</a>, for example, women cannot speak or show their faces in public; and, in the Middle East and North Africa, <a href="https://www.unicef.org/mena/media/17696/file/ChildMarriage-Factsheet-Feb22.pdf%20.pdf">700,000 child brides</a> marry Muslim men every year. Add to that <a href="https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/how-pakistans-rape-culture-led-to-the-uk-grooming-gangs/">rape culture</a>, pervasive and violent <a href="https://www.opendoorsus.org/en-US/stories/10-most-dangerous-places-Christians/">persecution of Christians</a>, and the <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2019/06/14/countries-where-being-gay-is-legally-punishable-by-death/39574685/">death penalty for homosexuality</a>.  
But, for leftists, logic doesn’t matter as long as America is dismantled. The ends justify the means, and as the proverb goes, “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.” Hand in hand with leftists blinded by Marxism, jihadists have set in motion their “Civilization-Jihadist Process”:
In Dearborn, Michigan, <a href="https://x.com/BreitbartNews/status/1976264850268360855">residents hear the Muslim call to prayer five times a day</a> and <a href="https://x.com/DerrickEvans4WV/status/1976507193621905417">Islamists flood streets waving foreign flags</a>.
On college campuses across the country, radicalized students <a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/harvard-settles-with-jewish-student-who-sued-school-for-ignoring-campus-antisemitism/">harass their Jewish peers</a> and <a href="https://www.columbiaspectator.com/news/2024/05/02/timeline-the-gaza-solidarity-encampment/">seize university property.</a>  
And on the New York streets once darkened by the devastation of the 9/11 attack, leftists now praise the very jihad that inspired terrorists to fly two planes into the World Trade Center.
It is clear America has a jihad problem approaching hard and fast from the left. If the United States is to remain rooted in its founding principles — religious liberty, free markets, Christian ethics, and the dignity and equality of the sexes — Americans must resist the “global intifada” unfolding in our streets, universities, and halls of power.
How? Leftists embrace jihad because they hate America. Resistance, then, must be a patriotic love of America and her values: hard work, merit, marriage, family, service, worship, civic engagement, college football, daddy-daughter dances, Mom’s sweet iced tea, and borrowing eggs from the neighbors. The only thing Leftists and jihadists have in common is hatred for America.
That unity is shallow. But patriotism runs 50 states and 250 years deep.
Average Americans should love America. Professors and universities should teach love of country, and elected officials should serve the American people — not dismantle the country.
Good faith debate, civil disagreement, and the democratic process must stand. But they cannot bear good fruit absent a common affection for fellow man and country.
On 9/11, jihadists broke America — but only for a moment. From the ashes of that tragedy came a stronger American resolve and a unifying love of country.
Today, jihadists want to destroy America slowly, from within. But love of country can defeat jihadists again.
