A new study reveals that roughly nine in ten students fake leftist views to please their professors or their peers.
Between 2023 and 2025, Northwestern University psychology researchers Forest Romm and Kevin Waldman interviewed roughly 1,500 undergraduates at Northwestern University and the University of Michigan, two of the most prestigious universities in the country. They asked themselves this overarching question: “What happens to identity formation when belief is replaced by adherence to orthodoxy?”
In order to test their question, they asked the students if they had ever pretended to hold more progressive views than they truly endorsed to succeed socially or academically.
“An astounding 88 percent said yes,” they wrote in <a href="https://thehill.com/opinion/education/5446702-performative-virtue-signaling-has-become-a-threat-to-higher-ed/">The Hill</a>. They continued:

Seventy-eight percent of students told us they self-censor on their beliefs surrounding gender identity; 72 percent on politics; 68 percent on family values. More than 80 percent said they had submitted classwork that misrepresented their views in order to align with professors. Perhaps most telling: 77 percent said they disagreed with the idea that gender identity should override biological sex in such domains as sports, healthcare, or public data — but would never voice that disagreement aloud.

“We do not fault students for perpetuating a climate that is hostile to intellectual integrity,” the researchers opined. “We fault the faculty, administrators, and institutional leaders who built a system that rewards moral theater while punishing inquiry.  In shielding students from discomfort, they have also shielded them from discovery. The result is a generation confident in self-righteousness, but uncertain in self.”
As far back as 2018, an <a href="https://www.nas.org/academic-questions/31/2/homogenous_the_political_affiliations_of_elite_liberal_arts_college_faculty">article</a> published by the National Association of Scholars found that roughly 40% of colleges across the United States did not have a single professor identifying as a Republican.
This bias toward the Left was illuminated by Mitchell Langbert, an associate professor of business at Brooklyn College, who wrote, “The political registration of full-time, Ph.D.-holding professors in top-tier liberal arts colleges is overwhelmingly Democratic. Indeed, faculty political affiliations at 39 percent of the colleges in my sample are Republican free—having zero Republicans.”

Langbert added that the remaining 61% are &#8220;absurdly skewed against Republican affiliation.&#8221; He noted that 78.2% of the academic departments that he sampled had either zero Republicans, or “so few as to make no difference.”
Between February 2017 and September 2017, Langbert sampled 8,688 tenure-track professors with PhDs from 51 of the 66 top-ranked liberal arts colleges in the U.S. News 2017 report. Of those 8,688 professors, 5,197 (59.8%) were registered as either Republican or Democrat. He wrote, “The mean Democratic-to-Republican ratio (D:R) across the sample is 10.4:1, but because of an anomaly in the definition of what constitutes a liberal arts college in the U.S. News survey, I include two military colleges, West Point and Annapolis. If these are excluded, the D:R ratio is a whopping 12.7:1.”
Langbert pointed out that in response to the widespread bias displayed at universities, over 1,000 professors and graduate students had started Heterodox Academy, an organization committed to increasing “viewpoint diversity” in higher education.
There were exceptions to the pervasive prejudice against conservatism at colleges and universities, but notably, they were primarily either religious or military colleges. Thomas Aquinas had 33 full-time faculty; all were Republican. West Point and Annapolis were more balanced than most universities; they had D:R ratios of 1.3:1 and 2.3:1. Claremont McKenna and Kenyon colleges also featured more viewpoint diversity.

&#8220;The internet has been quick to condemn the advertisement as noninclusive at best and as overtly promoting &#8216;white supremacy&#8217; and &#8216;Nazi propaganda&#8217; at worst,&#8221; the op-ed reads, calling some of this criticism &#8220;fair.&#8221;
&#8220;These critics point to the copy and the implication of calling a white person superior because of their genes,&#8221; the piece continues, adding that the &#8220;campaign feels regressive and not retro, offensive and not cheeky.&#8221;

For a brief period of time after Donald Trump’s 2024 election victory, there was talk of the Democratic Party finally learning from the clear lesson taught by the American people. But in the eight months since the election, Democrats have shown that they didn’t learn anything, and they’re just as annoying and woke as ever. 
From their attacks on Trump’s immigration agenda and ICE agents to their defense of socialism and massive government spending, liberals are doubling down on all of the things that sent them to the woodshed on November 5, 2024. 
<h3>Crying over Deportations</h3>
Throughout the entire 2024 campaign, Trump was clear on his goal to conduct the largest deportation operation in American history, and a majority of voters approved of the plan, giving Trump the mandate to get cracking on booting illegal immigrants from the country. Instead of adjusting their position on deportations to fit with the will of the people, Democrats just cried about the issue even louder. 
Leftists’ temper tantrums over deportations have also turned into referring to ICE agents as “<a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/progressive-dem-rep-faces-backlash-calling-ice-nazi-thugs-defending-ms-13-gang-member">Nazi thugs</a>” and a <a href="https://www.ice.gov/news/releases/statement-ice-acting-director-todd-m-lyons-minnesota-gov-tim-walzs-anti-ice-comments">“modern-day Gestapo</a>.” 
Democrats’ rhetoric on the issue has been blasted by the Trump administration, which has pointed to an <a href="https://www.dhs.gov/news/2025/07/15/dhs-announces-ice-law-enforcement-are-now-facing-830-percent-increase-assaults">800% increase</a> in violence toward immigration agents, including armed assaults on Border Patrol and ICE officers. 
Leftist protesters and rioters opposing the ICE operations have also <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-vows-to-liberate-los-angeles-shut-down-migrant-riots-and-insurrectionist-mobs">clashed</a> with police officers and agents and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/idiots-massive-drug-bust-impeded-by-anti-ice-protesters-sheriff-says">impeded</a> law enforcement duties. Talk about annoying … and dangerous! One Arizona sheriff summed it up perfectly: “They don’t have individual thought, they have group think.”
<h3>Defending Massive Government Spending on Wokeness</h3>
Another main goal for the Trump administration has been to strip out unnecessary government spending and dismantle wasteful government agencies and programs. Of course, this too riled up the Democrats, who couldn’t bear the thought of people in Iraq going without their own <a href="https://x.com/DOGE/status/1871397453720695148">Sesame Street</a> and people in Africa going without <a href="https://africa.businessinsider.com/local/lifestyle/us-aid-cuts-leave-dollar11-million-in-birth-control-supplies-for-sub-saharan-africa/jqe9l80#google_vignette">birth control</a> (yes, those were real things your government was spending money on). 
Most recently, Democrats are upset that the Left-leaning National Public Radio’s government funding is also getting axed. Yeah, the same NPR that <a href="https://cloud.house.gov/posts/npr-chief-admits-dismissing-hunter-biden-laptop-story-was-a-mistake">said</a> it wasn’t going to cover the Hunter Biden laptop story in 2020 because it didn’t “want to waste our time on stories that are not really stories, and we don’t want to waste the listeners’ and readers’ time on stories that are just pure distractions.” 
And it gets worse. In 2024, NPR ran a Valentine’s Day segment on “<a href="https://www.npr.org/2024/02/14/1198909355/valentines-day-relationships-gay-animals-nature">queer animals</a>.” Two years prior, it <a href="https://www.wbur.org/endlessthread/2022/01/14/fight-for-dinosaur-emoji">discussed</a> the  “whole community of genderqueer dinosaur enthusiasts” and “trans-ceratops.” Yep, those are your tax dollars hard at work over at NPR. 
Did Democrats admit that maybe NPR went a little overboard on the leftism? Nope! Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-WI) <a href="https://x.com/SenDuckworth/status/1945637648086761889">claimed</a> that NPR is vital for public safety, saying that it’s important for “emergency alerts, disaster updates, the weather and other reliable news.” Sure, Tammy. Because everyone you know only ever listens to NPR for breaking news. 
<h3>Pushing Socialism</h3>
Leftists already have their attention on the next round of elections in 2025 and 2026. Common sense would suggest that this time around, they’ll push more moderate candidates … but Democrats aren’t big fans of common sense. Instead, they’re pushing a <a href="https://thenationaldesk.com/top-videos/zohran-mamdani-divides-democrats-with-socialist-platform-house-leader-chuck-schumer-endorse-president-donald-trump-eric-adams-hakeem-jeffries">radical socialist</a> (possibly full-blown <a href="https://x.com/JonathanTurley/status/1940556297021411558">Marxist</a>?) candidate in this year’s New York City mayoral race, while <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2024/08/23/aoc-mainstream-democrat-dnc-00175955">socialists</a> Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/no-apologies-bernie-sanders-221k-spent-private-jets-fighting-oligarchy-tour">traveled</a> the country on a “Fight the Oligarchy” tour, seeking to stir up the leftist base for the Democratic Party. 
“Assemblymember [Zohran] Mamdani has demonstrated a real ability on the ground to put together a coalition of working-class New Yorkers that is strongest to lead the pack,” AOC <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/05/nyregion/aoc-endorse-mamdani-mayor.html">said</a> in her endorsement, which helped lead Mamdani to a Democratic primary victory last month. 
Even after the Red Wave that pushed Trump and Republicans over the top in 2024, Democrats keep whining about conservative policies and running to the Left. And then they wonder why Americans reject their craziness.

The White House ripped leftists for claiming that the Trump administration was threatening the food supply by going after suspected illegal immigrants working at cannabis farms.

California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom blasted President Donald Trump following the Thursday raids.
“Kids running from tear gas, crying on the phone because their mother was just taken from the fields,” Newsom wrote. “Trump calls me ‘Newscum’ — but he’s the real scum.”
According to Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott, agents at one of the Ventura County cannabis farm raids found 10 children at the marijuana facility, eight of whom were not accompanied by an adult. The farm is &#8220;now under investigation for child labor violations,&#8221; Scott said.
Multiple protesters who were &#8220;impeding&#8221; federal agents were arrested, according to Bill Essayli, the U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California. A news helicopter <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WKRvYmtWOE&amp;t=159s">video</a> showed the moments when leftists slung rocks at federal vehicles, smashing the windows, as the agents attempted to leave the farm with detainees. Another video captured the moment a man appeared to open fire on federal agents. The FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of the suspected gunman.

While many Americans have made their frustrations with wokeness heard loud and clear, the Left continues to push “Pride,” even in what should be the unifying pastime of baseball. Earlier this week, the New York Mets bizarrely showed the “Pride” flag on the Citi Field jumbotron while the “Star-Spangled Banner” was being sung, because nothing shows the beauty and power of America like the rainbow flag apparently.

Later in the game, the Mets <a href="https://x.com/ThePatriotOasis/status/1934227418429923769">showed</a> two dudes smooching it up while holding a “Pride” flag. Would it surprise you that for the month of June, the Mets changed their logo on social media to “Pride” colors? Hey, at least for Mets fans, their team is still sitting at the top of the league in the <a href="https://www.espn.com/mlb/standings/_/group/overall">standings</a>. But there are few things that men hate more than their beloved sports being injected with leftist politics. 
The wokeness of the Left is a losing message with men, especially young men, who are turning to the Republican side at incredible rates. In 2024, men between the ages of 18 and 29 <a href="https://www.npr.org/2025/06/13/nx-s1-5415878/democrats-young-men-trump">shifted</a> to the Right by 12 points. The problem has become so big for Democrats that they <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2025/06/03/democrats-young-men-study-00384370">set out</a> to “study young men and how Democrats can reach them.” Maybe just be normal?
Cygnal pollster Brent Buchanan told “<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yG6zVr4v-4U">Morning Wire</a>” this week that cultural issues are the main driver behind young men abandoning the Democratic Party. 
“Those cultural issues are essentially proxies for radicalism, and if you don’t see yourself as radical on those issues, then you don’t see yourself as a Democrat right now,” Buchanan said. 
The 2024 election showed us that millions of young men don’t want to sign onto the Left’s radical platform, and they’re tired of the culture constantly shoving crazy ideologies.

The Left’s successful rebranding of masculinity as “toxic” didn’t just rewrite a dictionary entry — it rewired the cultural DNA that once produced great men.
In 2018, the American Psychological Association updated its Guidelines for Psychological Practice with Boys and Men, effectively declaring stoicism, risk-taking, and competitiveness — the building blocks of masculine virtue — “<a href="https://www.apa.org/about/policy/boys-men-practice-guidelines.pdf">psychologically harmful</a>.”  
Within months, Gillette aired its infamous &#8220;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYaY2Kb_PKI">We Believe</a>&#8220; commercial, scolding ordinary dads at backyard barbecues while implying every son harbored a bully within. Seemingly overnight, &#8220;toxic&#8221; became the default adjective attached to manhood.
But this cultural ambush was decades in the making. It has its roots in second-wave feminism, which in the 1960s began reframing male strength as patriarchal oppression. By the ’80s and ’90s, freshly-minted gender studies departments were churning out theses that branded healthy male assertiveness “hegemonic.”
On television, the upstanding patriarch of “Father Knows Best” gave way to the beer-bellied, weak-willed Al Bundy. When clickbait culture arrived in the 2000s, every societal ill — from climate change to mass shootings — found a convenient culprit in “<a href="https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2018/01/17/gun-violence-masculinity-216321/">traditional masculinity</a>.”
C.S. Lewis foresaw the danger. “We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise,” he warned in The Abolition of Man — adding the <a href="https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/113211-we-make-men-without-chests-and-expect-from-them-virtue?utm_source=chatgpt.com">punchline</a> our era can’t escape: “We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst.”
The cultural costs are no laughing matter. Today, 17.6 million American children — nearly one in four — <a href="https://www.fatherhood.org/father-absence-statistic">grow up without a father in the home</a>. Their odds of suffering are grim: Barack Obama, citing Census data in 2008, <a href="https://www.politico.com/story/2008/06/text-of-obamas-fatherhood-speech-011094?">noted</a> that such children are “five times more likely to live in poverty… nine times more likely to drop out of school, and 20 times more likely to end up in prison.”
If only he did something about it. 
Almost 60 years earlier, Daniel Patrick Moynihan <a href="https://web.stanford.edu/~mrosenfe/Moynihan%27s%20The%20Negro%20Family.pdf">sounded the same alarm</a>, saying, “the deterioration of the fabric of &#8230; society is the deterioration of the &#8230; family.” At the time, he was dismissed as an alarmist. The empty chairs around dinner tables prove him prophetic.
Classrooms reveal the next domino. The same ideology that pathologized masculine energy has left boys academically stranded. On the <a href="https://www.nationsreportcard.gov/highlights/reading/2022">2022 National Assessment of Educational Progress</a>, 8th-grade girls outread boys by nine scale points, continuing an unbroken gender gap that dates to 1992. Overall scores for both sexes hit the lowest level on record. 
College quads tell the same tale. Men have fallen to just <a href="https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2023/12/18/fewer-young-men-are-in-college-especially-at-4-year-schools/">44% of American undergraduates</a>, a gap that’s widened every year since 2011. UNESCO, surveying 140 countries, now calls boys’ lagging literacy a “<a href="https://www.unesco.org/en/articles/leave-no-child-behind-global-report-boys-disengagement-education">growing global crisis</a>.” Christina Hoff Sommers <a href="https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/9334744-boys-today-bear-the-burden-of-several-powerful-cultural-trends">captures the cultural headwind:</a> a school climate that “valorizes feelings and denigrates competition and risk…views masculinity as predatory. Natural male exuberance is no longer tolerated.” 
Why did “toxic masculinity” stick? Because it performed a linguistic jujitsu: attach a moral defect to the identity you want to erase, then offer “liberation” through re-education. Courage degenerates into “aggression,” leadership into “oppression,” fatherhood into “patriarchal privilege.” The outcome is predictable: abolish the virtues that civilize male strength, then lament the violence or apathy that follows.
Yet the data refuse to cooperate with the narrative. Children with involved fathers are <a href="https://www.lakeconews.com/news/community/commentary/56433-delcol-happy-father-s-day">40% less likely to repeat a grade</a>, more likely to earn As, and far less prone to behavioral problems. Even the <a href="https://www.apa.org/about/policy/boys-men-practice-guidelines.pdf">APA guidelines</a> — often cited as proof of masculinity’s hazards — concede that male risk-taking can be “harnessed for good” when directed toward service and innovation.
Harvard’s Center on the Developing Child <a href="https://developingchild.harvard.edu/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/The-Science-of-Resilience2.pdf">summarizes</a> decades of research showing that self-regulation and disciplined resilience — traits once labeled stoic — buffer children from stress and reduce lifetime mental-health risk. In other words, the same virtues our culture now brands “toxic” are the ones empirical science says we need.
Trust the science.
Conservatives bear some blame for this inversion. While we tallied marginal-tax victories, Hollywood and higher ed rewrote the story of manhood. Institutions we once guided — churches, Scouts, civic clubs — sat vacant as HR departments filled the void. The cockpit was empty. The Left merely climbed in and took control.
We didn’t arrive here by accident. The cultural collapse around masculinity wasn’t inevitable — it was permitted. While conservatives focused on policy wins and economic metrics, the Left waged a full-spectrum cultural campaign that redefined manhood itself. They infiltrated the classroom, the newsroom, and the writers&#8217; room. They turned moral virtue into pathology and repackaged fatherhood as oppression. And we let them. Not out of malice, but out of misplaced trust — that truth would prevail unaided, that tradition could defend itself, that boys would become men by default.
Now, we stand in the wreckage of that assumption. A generation of boys has been raised to doubt their instincts, to apologize for their strength, and to see their fathers as liabilities rather than legacies. This is not just a political failure — it’s a civilizational one. But it also means the stakes are finally clear. If the conservative movement wants to conserve anything worth passing down, it must begin with this: the restoration of masculine virtue. Not nostalgia. Not anger. But clarity. The recognition that the war on manhood is really a war on order, on protection, on the nuclear family.
We’re not at the end of this story — we’re at the hinge. The institutions may be hollow, the narratives poisoned, but the hunger for truth remains. And in that hunger lies our moment. Not to manage decline, but to name it. Not to tinker around the edges, but to tell the truth loudly enough that our sons can hear it. Before we rebuild, we must remember who we are — and what we allowed to be stolen in the dark.
Masculinity is not toxic — it’s virtuous. When we reclaim that distinction, we invite our sons to stand tall instead of apologizing for existing — and we give civilization the allies it deserves.

Earlier this month, we celebrated the 80th anniversary of V-E Day, “Victory in Europe,” which marked the end of the European Theater’s part in the Second World War. It is a date certainly worth commemorating as it closed one of the darkest chapters in European history, which was the rise and fall of Hitler’s Third Reich.
For the countries in what today we call Western Europe that languished for years under the jackboot of Nazi oppression — France, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg, Denmark, Norway, Greece — the Allied victory truly represented liberation.

But there was another side to V-E Day that seems to get glossed over. And that is the less happy fate of the Eastern European nations who were not liberated by the Anglo-Americans rolling in from the west, but rather the Red Army coming in from the east. And for those nations — Poland, Hungary, then-Czechoslovakia, the Baltic states — V-E Day merely meant trading one brutal oppressor for another. Indeed, as the Allies were closing in from both sides, the dark joke in Germany was “Optimists are learning English, pessimists are learning Russian.”
We have been conditioned for over 80 years to viscerally recoil at the very mention of the Führer’s name. Just say “Hitler” and the mind conjures up images of the Holocaust and mass murder of millions of innocents carried out by robotic, goose-stepping stormtroopers wearing their signature coal scuttle helmets.
Yet, when we utter the name “Stalin,” no such dark imagery materializes in the collective mind. And yet, in terms of pure numbers, it can be argued that the Soviet “Man of Steel” had more blood on his hands than even Hitler. Why the indifferent reaction?
It could perhaps be attributed to a curious media/academic tendency of apologetics towards communism. As polls consistently show, both of these institutions lean very much to the left. And Stalinism is the ultimate expression of their collective leftist ideology come to fruition in all its destructive inevitability. During the 1930s, for example, dispatches from Moscow-based New York Times correspondent Walter Duranty were shamefully obsequious towards Stalin, offering up for his readers images of a prosperous, happy communist USSR workers’ paradise.
No matter that the Soviet dictator was coldly stripping Ukraine of food and inducing a famine in 1932-1933 (called the “Holodomor”) during which anywhere from 3.5 to 5 million Ukrainians died of starvation — atrocities Duranty labeled as a “big scare” and “exaggeration.”
Then there was Stalin’s 1929-1933 genocide against the Kulaks (wealthy peasants who resisted his policies) to facilitate the expropriation of farmland. In one directive, the Soviet leader declared, “We must smash the Kulaks, liquidate them as a class.” Millions died.
And what of the estimated 700,000 to 6 million who died in Stalin’s Gulag, the far-flung network of concentration camps where he sent his enemies, whom the hyper-paranoid dictator saw all around him. (Figures vary widely; the latter number comes from dissident Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, who was imprisoned for eight years.)
Starting in 1936, Stalin wiped out his political and military adversaries in a series of show trials called “The Great Purge.” Stalin’s biographer Oleg V. Khlevniuk estimates that 1.6 million were arrested, with 700,000 shot; no one knows how many died of torture.

During the Second World War on the Eastern Front, Stalin was so profligate with the lives of his people that by the time the red banner of the USSR was flying over the Reichstag in the conquered Berlin, some 27 million Soviets lay dead. Many as a result of combat and German atrocities, of course, but also due to Stalin’s unimaginative strategies that callously offered up both his soldiers and civilians before the guns of the Wehrmacht as fodder.
Whereas Hitler’s policies were driven by twisted racial hatred, delusions of grandeur, a sense of grievance on behalf of a nation he felt was ill-treated at Versailles, and, by the end, drug-addled bona fide madness, Stalin in some ways is even more disturbing as there was a cold, calculating, and ruthless nature to his machinations.
Stalin will also go down as one of the most treacherous characters in history. It should be remembered that until Hitler turned on him and attacked Russia in June 1941, Stalin and the German dictator were allies. Hitler only felt secure enough to invade Poland and trigger the Second World War because Berlin and Moscow had just entered into a non-aggression pact the month before. In fact, people often forget that in September 1939, Poland was not just invaded by the Wehrmacht but also by the Red Army. After which, Stalin’s NKVD promptly rounded up 22,000 members of Poland’s military and intelligentsia, marched them to the Katyn Forest, and shot them all dead.

Says historian Victor Davis Hanson: “Of the six major belligerents of World War II, on the Axis side, Italy, Japan, and Germany, and the United States, Russia, and Britain, Stalin made a deal with every one of them at one time or another, and he honored the ones with the Axis better than he did us.”
But, unlike Hitler, Stalin’s image during the war was softened by the Roosevelt administration and pliant media due to the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union. FDR, especially, was hopelessly naïve about the duplicitous nature of the man whose military he was now supplying through Lend-Lease. As far as he saw it, the Russians were now our allies after all. And, frankly, we needed the Red Army to kill as many Germans as possible before we invaded France. The mass murderer of Moscow was thus re-christened “Uncle Joe” Stalin. And as it was his Red Army more than any other that destroyed the Wehrmacht, what he did to his own people and those in Eastern Europe were swept under the rug until the Cold War commenced in the late 1940s. After all, as the saying goes, “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.”

80 years after the war in Europe ended, modern Germany is still horrified by, and ashamed of, their Nazi past. But to this day, even in a post-Cold War Russia in which information regarding the horrific crimes carried out by the Bolsheviks is now widely accessible, Stalin is revered by the Russian people. A 2021 poll by the Levada Center found that 70% of Russians held a mostly or very favorable view of Stalin.
And that same lack of revulsion over Stalin’s decades-long reign of terror carries over into the West today as a misguided affinity for Marxism slithers its insidious way through the halls of so-called higher education. A poll by the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation found that millennials, particularly younger ones, displayed a dreadful ignorance of communism and even support for it. Almost half of Americans between the ages of 16 and 20 “said they would vote for a socialist, while 21% would go so far as to back a Communist.” Even more shocking was that a “third of millennials say they believe more people were killed under George W. Bush than Joseph Stalin.” This is criminal negligence on the part of academia — and dangerous.
I have a shirt that reads “Communism killed 100 million people and all I got was this lousy t-shirt.” Though gallows humor, the message is also a searing indictment of a left-leaning academic and media establishment that are utterly dismissive of the crimes perpetrated by the founding fathers of their own defunct and cruel ideologies. The verdict of history should have condemned Soviet communism to the ashbin of history decades ago. But a fatal attraction for this defunct ideology that invariably leads to mass murder is alive and well in the West today. This is a tragedy — and dangerous.

Democrat strategist James Carville told young Democrats to get over themselves in response to a leftist contestant on a reality TV show who broke things off with her partner because he was not progressive enough for her.
Carville responded to a scene from Netflix&#8217;s reality dating show &#8220;Love is Blind&#8221; where contestant Sara Carton broke off her relationship with Ben Mezzenga because of his politics.
“I remember I asked him about Black Lives Matter,” Carton said. “And I’m no expert. But when I asked him about it, he’s like, ‘I guess I never really thought too much about it.’ That affected me!”
Carville responded in an interview with Fox News: &#8220;Get over your preening and your moral superiority.&#8221;
&#8220;And the more pragmatic in how you approach life, you&#8217;ll end up being a lot happier, and you&#8217;ll actually win an election,&#8221; he said. &#8220;And therefore, you can actually do things, and you could do some of the things that you want, because if you lose, it doesn&#8217;t do any good. It&#8217;s about nothing. That&#8217;s what I would tell them.&#8221;

Palantir CEO Alex Karp said on Tuesday that people should forget everything they learned in college about the way the world works because what they have been taught is likely a lie.
Karp made the remarks during an interview on CNBC&#8217;s &#8220;Squawk Box&#8221; while talking about his new book.
&#8220;Everything you learned at your school and college about how the world works is intellectually incorrect,&#8221; he said, noting that his book is &#8220;a way of seeing the world that may not be right, but it&#8217;s not wrong.&#8221;
&#8220;And so trying to be right is very hard, but you can definitely know what&#8217;s wrong,&#8221; he said. &#8220;And what you&#8217;ve been taught in college, that you basically should have no beliefs, that the West is inferior, that the intellectual tradition of the West, it leads to self-flagellation and losing on the battlefield, losing intellectually, losing your party, losing your country, losing your border, that your institutions can&#8217;t work because we&#8217;re so good. It&#8217;s actually wrong. And the West was actually never about that.&#8221;
&#8220;You can be good, decent, and win, and be intellectually correct,&#8221; he continued.
He said that the way that incentive structures are changing is forcing home hard realities that Americans will have to adjust to, including things like institutions having to &#8220;actually live up to their core mandate.&#8221;
&#8220;A country has to have a border. The educational institutions have to work,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;The military actually has to be scary.&#8221;
He noted that the West is &#8220;obviously superior&#8221; to other parts of the world and that it is important to recognize that basic fact and be proud of it.
&#8220;We had a pagan religion that has infiltrated our universities,&#8221; he said. &#8220;And that pagan religion basically says, everything that&#8217;s good about America, everything that actually works, is ipso facto bad.&#8221;
&#8220;And by the way, you can&#8217;t talk about it not working because it&#8217;s a religion. And it&#8217;s a new religion. It&#8217;s not an old great religion, Judaism, Christianity,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;It&#8217;s a new religion, and the tenets are, West is bad, nothing can work. If it works, it&#8217;s bad. And that way of thinking has corroded every aspect of our psyche.&#8221;

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/democratic-party" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Democrat</a> staff members who belong to a far-Left caucus wrote a letter to congressional leaders this week asking that they reduce the full-time work week to just 32 hours so that they do not get burned out.
The Congressional Progressive Staff Association, which represents House and Senate employees across the country, claimed that their proposal was about &#8220;a more sustainable approach to work on a national level.&#8221;
&#8220;By adopting a 32-hour workweek for staff on a rotating basis, you can accomplish these goals while retaining the productivity and quality of work you expect and deserve from your team,&#8221; they claimed. &#8220;We urge you to consider piloting the program in your own offices and encouraging your fellow Members across your conference or caucus to do the same.&#8221;
They complained that their jobs working for members of Congress were &#8220;often demanding and intensive.&#8221;
&#8220;Staffers routinely work long hours at a level of rigor that regularly leads to burnout,&#8221; the letter claimed.
The proposal, which was widely mocked online, said that members should institute &#8220;a 32-hour workweek for D.C.-based staff during district work periods and a 32-hour workweek for district-based staff while in-session.&#8221;
&#8220;Doing so — without a reduction in pay — would allow both D.C. and distinct staff to be fully available around the clock throughout more intensive periods when the Member is in town while allowing for a more sustainable schedule when workloads are more manageable,&#8221; they added. &#8220;If implemented, offices are not likely to see a drop in overall productivity.&#8221;

The staffers claimed that members who were skeptical should &#8220;engage in a six-month pilot&#8221; to see if the reduction in hours leads to increased outcomes.
Rep. Burgess Owens (R-UT) responded to the letter: &#8220;Members of Congress are always looking to hire and retain the best staff—hard workers who you can count on to go above and beyond on behalf of constituents.&#8221;
&#8220;My advice to these &#8216;progressive staffers&#8217; is simple: find a new industry. Public service is clearly not meant for you,&#8221; he added.
Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) responded: &#8220;If progressive hill staffers worked 0 hours per week, it would probably do more to help the Democrats win than anything else they could do.&#8221;
&#8220;You want to work 32 hours but get paid for 40? Nope,&#8221; said Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL). &#8220;The taxpayers aka your boss, deserve folks who hustle and work hard FULL TIME on their behalf. This is public service after all…&#8221;

A “social justice academy” run by a California school district teaches elementary school kids to disavow “whiteness” and embrace transgender ideology, lesson plans shared with The Daily Wire show.
Every summer since 2021, the New Haven Unified School District in the San Francisco Bay area has trained rising 3rd-6th graders in leftist gender and racial politics during its annual “social justice academy.” Specific details about the academy’s curriculum were revealed in documents recently obtained from the school by Parents Defending Education through a public records request.
“Scholars will define and critically think about Social Justice, identify social injustices in the community, and create opportunities for activism through writing, action, art,” according to a plan from 2023 for the academy, which operates in deep blue Alameda County.
The three-week academy, which costs the district around $20,000, was formed, in part, due to an Alameda County resolution that instructs educators to “help our children understand and react to racial differences, and to teach our youth how to speak up against injustice, racism and inequality.”
Throughout the three-week course, students are taught the full gambit of leftist positions from “womxn rights” to Black Lives Matter and transgender ideology. The course comes as test scores show that under half of elementary students in the district are proficient in math while only half are proficient in reading.
A lesson plan from week one shows that the academy focuses on issues of racial and sexual identity while reading from the book “Not My Idea: A Book About Whiteness.” The book says that “whiteness is a bad deal. It always was” and that “you can be white without signing on to whiteness.”
The students are also taught that it is “white supremacy” that the 10 richest Americans are white and that governors were 96% white based on 2016-era statistics, according to planning materials for the academy from 2024.
In another exercise, students were taught about stereotypes by being forced to fire people from a list of names, before gradually learning more about them, including their sexual identities and disabilities.

In week two of the academy, students are taught about Black Lives Matter, defunding the police, and taught to compare former President Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler.
The comparison between Trump and Hitler happens during a section on “dehumanizing language,” where students are shown an image of the two men with quotes. However, the quote attributed to Trump is completely fabricated.

Trump is quoted in the image as saying “Undocumented immigrants are not human; they are animals.” While Trump has referred to violent gang members and murderers as “animals,” he never said all illegal immigrants are animals in a blanket manner.

The course also takes a pro-Palestinian bent, accusing Israel of being a colonialist power and pointing students to a video from the leftist outlet The Root called “Why Black people should care about Palestinian Liberation.”
Also during the second week, students are taught about “defunding the police,” the history of the Black Lives Matter movement, and the “criminalization of BIPOC.” The course materials argue that school disciplinary practices create a “school-to-prison” pipeline that disproportionately impacts black students.
During week three of the social justice academy, students read from two books pushing transgender ideology. One book, “I Am Jazz,” is based on Jazz Jennings, a man who identifies as a woman. Jennings’ parents moved him towards “gender-transition” at age 3, and he quickly became the star of a reality TV show that highlighted transgenderism.
Students are taught that being “transgender is not a choice” and how to be an “LGBTQIA+ Ally.” Course materials list “transgender rights” as things like “access to medical care” and “all gender bathrooms.”
Students are also taught about a Florida law that prohibited discussion of gender identity and sexual orientation for young children in classrooms. The legislation was derisively referred to as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill by the Left.
New Haven Unified School District did not respond to requests for comment.
Erika Sanzi, the director of outreach for Parents Defending Education, said that the academy should be shut down.
“This summer program should have been advertised as an indoctrination camp where ideologues who spell the word ‘women’ with an x feed students propaganda about defunding the police, transgenderism, and oppression,” she told The Daily Wire. “At the same time that they lie to kids about book bans, the curriculum includes a children’s book that calls whiteness bad and equates it with the devil.”
