Gavin Newsom is reading the room.
On the California governor&#8217;s new podcast, “This Is Gavin Newsom,” which launched earlier this month, Newsom distances himself from some of Democrats&#8217; most controversial ideas like trans-identifying men in women&#8217;s sports, tax dollars paying for prisoners&#8217; transgender surgeries, and even the term &#8220;Latinx.&#8221;
With no context, a listener might never imagine Newsom himself has pushed those very progressive policies on California over his nearly 30 years in elected office.
In his first podcast episode, Newsom shocked his fellow Democrats by calling biological men competing in women’s sports &#8220;deeply unfair.&#8221;
&#8220;Would you say no to men in female sports?&#8221; Newsom&#8217;s conservative guest, Charlie Kirk, founder of TPUSA, asked him.
“I think it’s an issue of fairness, I completely agree with you on that,” Newsom answered. “It is an issue of fairness — it’s deeply unfair.”
However, as far back as 2014 when Newsom was lieutenant governor, he <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaA2RIwnXtg&amp;t=437s" target="_blank" rel="noopener">celebrated</a> California&#8217;s new law allowing trans-identifying male students to compete in girls&#8217; sports. He celebrated <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/02/24/transgender-rights-california/5795659/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">again</a> when conservative groups failed to repeal that law.
The Trump campaign&#8217;s most successful ad last year highlighted Kamala Harris&#8217; support for taxpayer-funded transgender surgeries for detained migrants, telling viewers, “Kamala is for they/them, President Trump is for you.”
“‘Trump’s for you, she’s for they/them,’” Newsom <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2025/03/20/politics/kfile-gavin-newsom-podcast-policy-reversal-trans-sports-latinx?cid=ios_app" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> on his podcast, referencing the ad. “Devastating. And she didn’t even react to it, which was more devastating … people that are incarcerated and illegal and illegal incarcerated individuals getting taxpayer-funded gender reassignment surgery. That is a 90/10 not an 80/20.”
But back in 2020, Newsom signed a bill allowing trans-identifying male prison inmates to be housed in women&#8217;s prisons. The new law resulted in a 52-year-old male inmate being transferred to a women&#8217;s facility and <a href="https://freebeacon.com/democrats/gavin-newsom-now-backpedaling-on-trans-issues-signed-a-law-forcing-womens-prisons-to-accept-male-inmates/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">allegedly</a> raping and impregnating several incarcerated women.
The law also <a href="https://legiscan.com/CA/text/SB132/id/2210293" target="_blank" rel="noopener">implied</a> some trans-identifying inmates would need taxpayer-funded hormones and surgeries, stating that &#8220;some transgender&#8221; people experience &#8220;gender dysphoria that requires medical treatment.&#8221;
California also already provides taxpayer-funded surgeries and hormones to illegal migrants thanks to the state&#8217;s 2015 Medicaid law, which was <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2022/01/12/us/health-care-undocumented-immigrants.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">expanded</a> by Newsom in 2021.
Meanwhile, Newsom has repeatedly <a href="https://x.com/search?q=from%3AGavinNewsom%20latinx&amp;src=typed_query" target="_blank" rel="noopener">used</a> the term “Latinx,” a gender-neutral term to replace Latina or Latino.
<p class="paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph" data-uri="cms.cnn.com/_components/paragraph/instances/cm8g9779m000s3b6n6kql6hd9@published" data-editable="text" data-component-name="paragraph" data-article-gutter="true" data-analytics-observe="off">“Not one person ever in my office has ever used the word Latinx,” Newsom claimed on his podcast.
<p class="paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph" data-uri="cms.cnn.com/_components/paragraph/instances/cm8g9779m000t3b6nsw4vhqer@published" data-editable="text" data-component-name="paragraph" data-article-gutter="true" data-analytics-observe="off">“Where did that even – I just didn’t even know where it came from,” he said, calling the term an “out-of-touch fixation.”
Newsom&#8217;s podcast has featured other conservative guests as well, including Steve Bannon, a former Trump White House strategist.
Some conservatives have <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2025/03/20/republicans-gavin-newsom-podcast-2028-00240892" target="_blank" rel="noopener">warned</a> about Newsom&#8217;s apparent attempt to rebrand as a moderate, cautioning that he may be trying to set himself up for a presidential run in 2028.

A group of Hispanic Democrats in the state of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/connecticut" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Connecticut</a> introduced a bill to ban the woke term &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/latinx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Latinx</a>&#8221; from state communications.
The bill was authored by five Democratic members of the state House of Representatives, all of whom are of Hispanic descent. The bill was at least partly inspired by Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders&#8217; move to ban the term &#8220;Latinx&#8221; from state government. The move also comes amid broad distaste for the word among Latinos.
The <a href="https://www.cga.ct.gov/2023/TOB/H/PDF/2023HB-06384-R00-HB.PDF" target="_blank" rel="noopener">text of the bill</a> reads:
<blockquote>[T]he general statutes [shall] be amended to prohibit any state agency, or state employee on behalf of a state agency, from using the term &#8220;Latinx&#8221; on any official communications or forms of the state agency.</blockquote>
It was introduced by five members of the state House: state Reps. Geraldo C. Reyes, Christopher Rosario, Juan R. Candelaria, Robert Sanchez, and Minnie Gonzalez.
Reyes blasted the word &#8220;Latinx&#8221; itself as a woke term that is offensive to the Constitution State&#8217;s sizeable Hispanic population; some 17.7% of the residents are Hispanic, according to the <a href="https://www.census.gov/quickfacts/CT" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Census Bureau</a>. “I’m of Puerto Rican descent and I find it offensive,” Reyes told the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/politics-connecticut-state-government-waterbury-arkansas-77817868efdbd4ee7651575acc665c6f" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Associated Press</a>. “The Spanish language, which is centuries old, defaults to Latino for everybody. It’s all-inclusive. They didn’t need to create a word, it already exists.”
Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/arkansas-governor-sarah-huckabee-sanders-bans-word-from-state-government-documents" target="_blank" rel="noopener">banned the word</a> from state documents in January. “All state offices, departments, and agencies, unless granted an exemption by the Governor, shall review official documents of their respective entities regarding the use of the term ‘Latinx,’ ‘latinx,’ ‘Latinxs,’ or ‘latinxs’ in official state documents,” her order stated. It also ordered agencies to identify all instances of the term in state documents, and within 60 days, replace all of them with some form of &#8220;Hispanic,&#8221; &#8220;Latino,&#8221; or &#8220;Latina.&#8221;
“This has been offensive and derogatory to all Puerto Ricans, and it’s something that hasn’t sat well with a lot of people here for a while.” Reyes added to <a href="https://www.ctinsider.com/politics/article/hispanic-lawmakers-ct-ban-latinx-arkansas-17742243.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CT Insider</a>. “When I found out that Arkansas Gov. [Sanders] banned it on her first day in the office, I saw that as an opportunity for me to do the same thing.” Reyes, however, criticized Sanders&#8217; move, saying she had &#8220;other motivations&#8221; for banning the word in Arkansas government documents.
A search on the <a href="https://portal.ct.gov/search-results/?q=Latinx#gsc.tab=0&amp;gsc.q=Latinx&amp;gsc.page=3" target="_blank" rel="noopener">state website</a> reveals that at least 920 state documents contain the word &#8220;Latinx.&#8221;
A <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/only-1-of-hispanics-prefer-the-so-called-gender-neutral-term-latinx-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">national poll</a> conducted in October found that only 1% of Hispanics identify as &#8220;Latinx,&#8221; a gender-neutral term imposed on Hispanics by left-wing culture. WPA Intelligence, a conservative polling firm that collaborated with Visto Media on behalf of the Latino advocacy group Bienvenido, conducted a poll of 1,288 Hispanic registered Democrat, Republican, and Independent voters.
The poll found that the community prefers to be identified as Hispanic, while others said American or Latino.
Respondents to the poll were asked to choose from a list of options as to why many Hispanics have not embraced the term — a combined 35% of Democrats blamed Hispanics rejecting the made-up term on “machismo culture” or “too much homophobia and transphobia among Hispanics.”
Other reasons Democrats believe the term has failed to catch on with Hispanic culture range from “right-wing disinformation” or simply because Hispanics take pride in their culture as it stands. In contrast, about 14% have no idea what the term means.
Meanwhile, most Republicans said it’s because Hispanics like their culture.

To underscore the unpopularity of the so-called gender-neutral term &#8216;Latinx,&#8217; a pair of national polls found that only 1% of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hispanics">Hispanics</a> prefer the representation that woke politicians and pundits force on a culture that has survived without since its foundation.
&#8220;Latinx&#8221; emerged in recent years as an alternative to preferred identifiers such as Hispanic and Latino through propaganda from news and entertainment outlets, corporations, government agencies, and universities in a global movement to erase gender and create a non-binary future.
WPA Intelligence, a conservative polling firm that collaborated with Visto Media on behalf of the Latino advocacy group Bienvenido, conducted a poll of 1,288 Hispanic registered Democrat, Republican, and Independent voters with a 3% margin of error earlier this month.
The latest national poll found that the community prefers to be identified as Hispanic, while others said American or Latino.
&#8220;This is pretty much consistent with everything that we&#8217;ve seen from Gallup and from other polls that show most Hispanics want to be called Hispanic, and that Latin x is not very popular in our community,&#8221; Giancarlo Sopo, media strategist for the firm, told reporters last week in a presentation. &#8220;So no surprises here.&#8221;

In a separate poll also tallied earlier this month, 1,000 register voters were asked about the term Latinx.
Respondents of the poll were asked to choose from a list of options why many Hispanics have not embraced the term, a combined 35% of Democrats blamed Hispanics rejecting the made-up term on &#8216;machismo culture&#8217; or &#8216;too much homophobia and transphobia among Hispanics,&#8221; which just over half of those opinions came from college educated white Democratic women.
According to the poll, Hispanic culture has more pressing issues to worry about rather than buying into identity politics pushed by far-left extremist groups to garner votes from minorities only to renege on their empty platitudes after another elections season completes its cycle.
Issues like crime, inflation, and the Southern Border have taken the helm of what matters most to Hispanics rather than ideas presented to fuel the culture war legacy media has forced on its viewers for decades.
Hispanics with conservative or traditional cultural backgrounds prefer discussing such social policy bends at the kitchen table.
&#8220;Hispanics do not believe that topics such as gender identity and sexual orientation should be discussed with kids,&#8221; Sopo said.

Meanwhile, most Republicans said it&#8217;s because Hispanics like their culture.
The poll revealed that many Hispanic Democrats still believe left-wing disinformation from Spanish-speaking media sources, such as the false narrative police officers kill 150 or more unarmed Black men every year, the Supreme Court outlawed abortion in the nation, or former President Trump called all immigrants &#8220;animals,&#8221; rather than just referring to MS-13 gang members.
&#8220;I think a lot of the time, Democrats are too eager to brand anything and everything that they don&#8217;t like as misinformation,&#8221; Sopo said. &#8220;I&#8217;m not denying that there is misinformation in Hispanic communities — but as we saw in this poll — it is clearly not limited to right-wing sources … right-leaning audiences. There is misinformation, and I think Hispanic voters are incredibly smart and nuanced, sophisticated enough to decipher fact from fiction.&#8221;

Social media users were ruthless in lambasting the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/nfl" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NFL</a> for unveiling an advertising campaign aimed at the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/latinos" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Latino</a> community.
The NFL unveiled its second annual &#8220;Por la Cultura&#8221; campaign to celebrate Latino Heritage Month, which runs from September 15 to October 15. As part of the campaign, the NFL debuted an alternative logo with an accent mark over the letter N, which the league claims adds an &#8220;unmistakable Latin flavor&#8221; to its campaign. Twitter users were not amused, and blistered the league for blatantly attempting to pander to Latinos.
&#8220;The league is proud to celebrate Latino Heritage Month by highlighting NFL players, coaches, and staff while partnering with the Hispanic Heritage Foundation and the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement,&#8221; the NFL said on Twitter. &#8220;We look forward to continuing collaborations with Latino creators, artist, and writers. We are here to AMPLIFY THE VOICES of the Latino Community on and off the FOOTBALL FIELD.&#8221;
The league also included a photo in its tweet highlighting the accent mark. &#8220;This shield integrates an unmistakable Latin flavor and is fundamental to our always-on, 365-day initiative,&#8221; the NFL wrote. &#8220;The electric brush stroke of the ‘eñe’ is filled with an infectious personality that is carried out through the rest of the look and feel.&#8221;
Twitter users did not hold back in roasting the NFL.

The NFL unveiled a similar campaign last year for &#8220;Latinx Heritage Month,&#8221; using the gender-inclusive neologism &#8220;Latinx,&#8221; a term which only 2% of self-identified Latinos use and a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/aoc-blasts-democrats-for-not-using-a-term-that-virtually-no-ones-uses-plurality-finds-term-offensive" target="_blank" rel="noopener">plurality of Latinos</a>, 40%, said was offensive in a recent survey, as The Daily Wire reported in June.
&#8220;With a large and passionate Latinx fanbase, as well as a number of Latinx NFL players, personnel, and Legends, the NFL and its clubs are committed to celebrating the diverse cultures within the Latinx community,&#8221; the league wrote in a <a href="https://operations.nfl.com/updates/football-ops/nfl-launches-por-la-cultura-initiative/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">press release</a> announcing the 2021 campaign. &#8220;The campaign introduces a new tagline, &#8216;Por La Cultura,&#8217; signifying how the NFL aims to champion the diversity and vibrancy of its fans, players, and personnel. The league will also incorporate a simple, hand-drawn tilde over the N in the NFL shield, a nod to the Spanish language and the Latinx community.&#8221;

Cassy Garcia, a Republican running for Congress in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/texas">Texas</a>’ heavily Hispanic 28th district, showcased a new shirt Tuesday inspired by first lady <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/jill-biden">Jill Biden</a>’s recent comments comparing the diversity of the Hispanic community to breakfast tacos.
Garcia, a lifelong Texan and Mexican-American, posted a picture on Twitter that showed her wearing the new shirt that reads “unique as a taco.” She also used the opportunity to take a shot at her Democrat opponent in the upcoming congressional election.
“Woke Democrats think Hispanics are tacos. Unfortunately for them, we&#8217;re voters,” Garcia captioned the post. “Help me beat Joe Biden&#8217;s ‘Latinx’ puppet,” she added in reference to her opponent incumbent Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX).

During a speech at the &#8220;Latinx IncluXion Luncheon&#8221; in San Antonio, Texas, on Monday, the first lady talked about Hispanics in a remark she would later <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jill-biden-issues-apologizes-to-latino-community-after-latinx-luncheon">apologize</a> for. Biden <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-first-lady-compares-hispanic-people-to-tacos-at-latinx-incluxion-luncheon">told</a> the audience that the Hispanic community&#8217;s diversity is “as distinct as the [bodegas] of the Bronx, as beautiful as the blossoms of Miami, and as unique as the breakfast tacos here in San Antonio, is your strength.”
Garcia is now highlighting the first lady’s recent comments on Hispanics to point out what she sees as a deeper problem within the Democratic Party.
“Jill Biden said the quiet part out loud yesterday. Woke Democrats don’t know us or our culture. Their understanding of Hispanics goes no deeper than a taco. Unfortunately for them, we’re voters,” Garcia told The Daily Wire. “CNN and The New York Times attack me because I’m fighting for the people of my community. Hispanics want a strong economy, safe communities for our families, and an end to the chaos at the border — not the radical policies of Joe Biden and his fellow Democrats, like Henry Cuellar.”
Garcia defeated her GOP opponent Sandra Whitten in a runoff election in May. Her matchup with Cuellar, who barely fended off a primary challenge from Jessica Cisneros, is <a href="https://www.cookpolitical.com/analysis/house/texas-house/texas-primary-fallout-democrats-edge-tx-28-and-rio-grande-valley">expected to give Democrats a scare</a> as the Party faces a predicted “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/red-tsunami-is-coming-kenosha-where-blm-riots-caused-millions-in-damage-just-elected-first-ever-gop-executive">Red tsunami</a>” in the November midterm elections.

The First Lady appeared to misspeak, pronouncing the word &#8220;bodigas&#8221; rather than &#8220;bodegas.&#8221; Bodegas are popular corner stores found throughout New York City, particularly in the Bronx, which provide a range of food and household products.

As for the term &#8220;Latinx,&#8221; polls have consistently shown that the vast majority of Hispanic Americans reject the gender-neutral label. In recent months, Democrats like Congressman Ritchie Torres (D-NY)  have blasted organizations like the New York Yankees for using the word Latinx.

Torres is correct that hardly any Hispanic person prefers the term Latinx despite its frequent appearances. Politico <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/new-poll-shows-only-2-of-hispanics-use-term-latinx-many-find-it-offensive">reported</a> in December that according to a new poll, just 2% of Hispanic American voters used the term Latinx — possibly contributing to the exodus.
However, the Bronx Congressman has also used the term Latinx in the past. After winning his election in 2020, Torres <a href="https://twitter.com/ritchietorres/status/1329969456248971264">tweeted</a>, &#8220;Never for a moment did I imagine becoming the first openly #LGBTQ Afro-Latinx member of Congress and joining the ranks of the @outmagazine.&#8221;
Regarding Monday&#8217;s event, it is unclear why UnidosUS would feel the need to remove the &#8220;S&#8221; in the word &#8220;inclusion&#8221; and replace it with an &#8220;X&#8221; to make Hispanics feel welcomed at Biden&#8217;s speech. The Spanish word for inclusion is &#8220;inclusión.&#8221;
The day before the first lady spoke at the &#8220;Latinx IncluXion Luncheon,&#8221; UnidosUS <a href="https://www.unidosus.org/conference/">hosted</a> a &#8220;Latinas Luncheon,&#8221; according to the conference schedule, adding to the confusion.

Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY) slammed her Democrat colleagues for resisting using the term “Latinx” when talking about the Latino community, even though the term is generally not used by that community.
The far-left lawmaker made the remarks during a &#8220;mini-rant&#8221; on Sunday night in a video that she posted to Instagram.
&#8220;Also in the spirit of pride, I wanted to have a note on gender inclusivity in Spanish language, people sometimes like to make a lot of drama over the term &#8216;Latinx,&#8217; but even before Latinx, people were trying to do this like use an &#8216;@&#8217; to have the &#8216;A&#8217; and the &#8216;O&#8217; together,&#8221; she claimed. &#8220;Gender is fluid, language is fluid.&#8221;
&#8220;I also have a mini-rant about this because there are some politicians, including Democratic politicians, that rail against the term ‘Latinx.’ And they’re like, ‘this is so bad, this is so bad for the party,’ like blah blah blah,&#8221; she said. &#8220;And it’s almost like it hasn’t struck some of these folks that another person’s identity is not about your reelection prospects. Like this is not about you.&#8221;
&#8220;Second of all, if putting a little &#8216;X&#8217; on your campaign literature is what you think is the difference between winning or losing an election, you need to talk about health care more, you need to raise people&#8217;s wages, you need to talk about more issues that also matter to people,&#8221; Ocasio-Cortez said.
Ocasio-Cortez&#8217;s claims come despite polling that shows that only 2% of Latinos call themselves &#8220;Latinx,&#8221; according to <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2021/12/06/hispanic-voters-latinx-term-523776">Politico</a>, which added, &#8220;More problematic for Democrats: 40 percent said Latinx bothers or offends them to some degree and 30 percent said they would be less likely to support a politician or organization that uses the term.&#8221;
Ocasio-Cortez then claimed that people are now trying to use the term &#8220;Latine&#8221; over &#8220;Latinx&#8221; because Latine &#8220;could be more inclusive to people.&#8221;
&#8220;So Latine, you avoid the masculine &#8216;O&#8217; you avoid the feminine &#8216;A&#8217;,&#8221; she claimed. &#8220;Latine is a little more neutral, so it could be more inclusive to people.&#8221;
&#8220;That being said, if you don&#8217;t want to use it, no one&#8217;s forcing you to, but for people who enjoy trying to figure out language and have it meet the modern age, that&#8217;s kind of where it&#8217;s at,&#8221; she claimed.

Pollster Fernand Amandi — whose firm ran the poll — told Politico at the time, “The numbers suggest that using Latinx is a violation of the political Hippocratic Oath, which is to first do no electoral harm.”
“Why are we using a word that is preferred by only 2%, but offends as many as 40 percent of those voters we want to win?” he added.

A new survey of registered American voters has revealed just 3% prefer the gender-neutral term Latinx to refer to Hispanic voters, revealing white liberals are far more likely to use the term than Hispanics.
The new <a href="https://echeloninsights.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Echelon Insights</a> poll shared with The Daily Wire, conducted January 21-23, included 1,029 registered voters who were asked, &#8220;When it comes to describing people who are of Spanish-speaking heritage of some kind, which of the following terms do you think is most appropriate to use?&#8221;
The most popular response was &#8220;Hispanic,&#8221; selected by 42% of respondents, including 55% of Hispanic respondents. &#8220;By their own nationality&#8221; ranked second with 26%, followed by &#8220;Latino or Latina&#8221; selected by 15%.

The use of the term Latinx has been popularized by those who seek to introduce gender-neutral nouns and pronouns into various languages that have traditionally included male and female constructions. The term has been used in the U.S. for at least a decade, added to the <a href="https://www.merriam-webster.com/words-at-play/word-history-latinx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Merriam-Webster Dictionary</a> in 2018.
The Latinx term is not commonly used among the vast majority of Spanish-speaking people. The new survey shows that among American voters, and especially among American voters of Hispanic descent, the term is not a preferred label. According to Echelon Insights, not a single Hispanic respondent identified with Latinx.
Among ethnic groups in the U.S., white voters were the most likely group to prefer the gender-neutral term, though Latinx was still only preferred by 4% of the group.
A <a href="https://www.pewresearch.org/hispanic/2020/08/11/about-one-in-four-u-s-hispanics-have-heard-of-latinx-but-just-3-use-it/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">similar study</a> by Pew Research in 2020 found that about one in four U.S. Hispanics had heard of the term Latinx, but only 3% use it.
The debate over gender-neutral pronouns and the LGBTQ+ agenda associated with them continues to drive controversy among many Americans. The Daily Wire&#8217;s Matt Walsh recently appeared on &#8220;Dr. Phil&#8221; where he asked two transgender individuals to answer the question, &#8220;What is a woman?&#8221; The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-matt-walsh-stumps-lgbt-activist-on-dr-phil-show-what-is-a-woman" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>:
<blockquote>The guests both said that they were unable to define what a woman is, instead telling Walsh, bluntly, “No, I can’t,” and suggesting “womanhood” is “different” for each person and therefore cannot be defined.
Walsh told Dr. Phil that when it comes to children, there can be a “basic confusion” about gender but that does not make a child “transgender.” Giving an example, he said if a four-year-old boy tells a parent they are a girl, the parent should ask why. The author said the kid will likely say that he wants to play with a dollhouse, or likes the color pink. Walsh said that the child just wants to do stereotypically girl things, which is fine, but it does not change his sex or gender. That child is still a boy.
Expanding on the idea, Walsh posed the question to two guests, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CWn5_q4sAY2/">LGBT activist</a> Addison, who is “non-binary,” and Ethan, who is also “non-binary.”
“What is a woman? Can you tell me what a woman is?” Walsh queried.
“No, I can’t,” admitted Ethan, “because it’s not for me to say. Womanhood looks different for everybody.”
Speaking to Addison, Walsh stated, “You stood up here and said, ‘Trans women are women.’ What is a woman?”
“Womanhood is … something that I cannot define,” Addison said.</blockquote>

For some reason, the Left believes that all Americans should live in a<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/toys-r-they-ca-law-requires-stores-to-have-gender-neutral-area-for-kids-products"> gender-neutral world</a> devoid of femininity and masculinity. At the same time, Democrats have wondered why Hispanic-Americans have been <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/d-c-mayors-former-spokesman-bidens-immigration-crisis-economy-turned-me-republican">fleeing the party</a> in droves and voting Republican lately.
On Monday morning, Politico <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2021/12/06/hispanic-voters-latinx-term-523776">reported</a> that a new poll indicated that many Hispanic-American voters are bothered by the term &#8220;Latinx&#8221; — possibly contributing to the exodus.
&#8220;Latinx&#8221; has been introduced in recent years by academics as a way to describe Hispanic voters without using the feminine &#8220;Latina&#8221; or the masculine &#8220;Latino.&#8221;
The national poll was taken between November 17 and November 21 and found that the effort to implement &#8220;Latinx&#8221; is turning off Hispanics, according to Politico:

This latest poll is nearly identical to a <a href="https://townhall.com/tipsheet/timothymeads/2019/11/01/progressive-poll-98-percent-of-hispanics-rejects-genderneutral-label-latinx-n2555753">2019 survey</a> that found 98% of Hispanics preferred a term other than &#8220;Latinx&#8221; to describe their heritage. At the time, the progressive founder of ThinkNow Mario Carrasco said that based on the results, he would &#8220;advise my colleagues across the various marketing, human resources, journalism and communication disciplines to avoid using &#8216;Latinx&#8217; as a descriptor for all Latinos.&#8221;
Pollster Fernand Amandi — whose firm ran the newest poll — echoed these sentiments, telling Politico, &#8220;The numbers suggest that using Latinx is a violation of the political Hippocratic Oath, which is to first do no electoral harm,”
&#8220;Why are we using a word that is preferred by only 2 percent, but offends as many as 40 percent of those voters we want to win?&#8221; he added.
Politico noted that elected Hispanic Republicans also believe the term is driving voters toward the GOP:

New Poll Shows Only 2% Of Hispanics Use Term ‘Latinx,’ Many Find It Offensive

A Virginia elementary school principal gave an “equity presentation” wherein she insinuated that Hispanic parents and students are unable to perform in educational settings because they face “immigration,” “deportation threats,” “health concerns,” and more. 
Guilford Elementary School in Virginia’s Loudoun County Public School (LCPS) district — one of the most affluent districts in the nation — hosted an equity presentation for teachers. The virtual presentation was given by Principal Lauren Sprowls and the school’s equity lead Suzanne Elbeze. 
One slide in the PowerPoint claimed that “Latinx” students and families may be facing outsized hardships in comparison to other racial groups. The presentation listed immigration, deportation threats, language barriers, discrimination, access to services, employment difficulties, family responsibilities, health concerns, and family economics as barriers to “Latinx” families. 
Listed under the category “Barriers to success” for Hispanic students, the presentation claimed that “Latinx” families struggle to communicate with the school because of work demands, lack of access to technology, and lack of understanding of parental engagement in education.

Teachers were told to support Hispanic students by choosing “culturally representative classroom materials and books” and practicing a slew of social justice buzzwords such as “cultural humility,” “awareness of implicit bias,” and “anti-racism.” 
According to the presentation, “anti-racism” is defined as “actively opposing racism by advocating for changes in political, economic, and social life.” Parents find it wildly inappropriate that teachers are trying to politicize their elementary-aged students. 
Ian Prior, the founder of <a href="https://fightforschools.com/">Figthforschools.com</a>, said that such theories and comments have no place in the public school system, especially in a public school system for kindergarteners.
“This is just another unfortunate example of Loudoun County Public Schools injecting regressive, divisive, and destructive critical race theory concepts in the school system,” Prior told The Daily Wire. “Not only are these issues not appropriate at an elementary school level, but they reinforce stereotypes when we should be encouraging teachers and children to treat everyone as a unique individual, not a member of a socially constructed demographic.” 
According to <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/loudoun-spending-6-million-equity-fy22.amp">Fox News</a>, Loudoun County is planning to allocate over $6 million in “equity” and “equity training” for the 2022 fiscal year budget. 
The budget proposal allocated $339,516 on “instruction facilitators, equity, and culturally responsive,” $565,983 for “School Counselor,” $72,000 for “equity training across departments,” and another $50,000 for “diversity interview panels.” 
Prior told The Daily Wire that LCPS is using this money to indoctrinate students with “critical race theory,” the theory that claims that America is irredeemably rooted in racism. 
“LCPS claims it has not implemented critical race theory, but example after example — and even materials from its own equity consultant — demonstrates that is exactly what they are doing.”
The district partners with an equity consulting firm called “The Equity Collaborative,” which consistently touts its relationship to the divisive critical race theory. 
LCPS did not respond to The Daily Wire&#8217;s requests for comment in time for publication.

A human rights attorney who claimed to be “Latinx” has admitted that she is, in fact, white, the latest in a string of people to be exposed for pretending to be Latino or Black.
Natasha Lycia Ora Bannan, the National Lawyers Guild’s first “Latina” president, spent years claiming to be of Puerto Rican and Columbian descent, according to a <a href="https://www.prismreports.org/article/2021/1/7/the-national-lawyers-guilds-outgoing-latina-president-is-a-white-woman">report</a> from the nonprofit news outlet Prism.
“Unbeknownst to many in the Latinx communities she worked alongside and claimed as her own, Bannan is a white woman who grew up in Georgia. Since at least 2006, she has accepted opportunities expressly intended for Latinas and other people of color,” the outlet reported.
Prism added that Bannan, 43, was at the time of its reporting the senior counsel at LatinoJustice Puerto Rican Legal Defense &amp; Education Fund. She claimed for years to be of Latino descent, yet her origin story changed over time.
She once told a Spanish-language newspaper that she was “a little bit Spanish, a little bit Colombian, and a Sephardic Jew,” but denied to the Prism that she ever identified as Spanish, claiming she told the reporter of the newspaper that there was a misprint. It was only a few years ago when she started claiming to be partially Puerto Rican, when she told Voice Latina that she was a “cultural mix of Puerto Rican, Colombian, Italian, and some other.”
As Prism reported, actual documents show no such lineage for Bannan.
“Nothing in Bannan’s lineage indicates that she can lay claim to a Latina identity. According to historical public documents, including census and naturalization records, Bannan’s paternal family arrived in the United States from Ireland and Italy. Her Italian grandmother Lycia, the source of Bannan’s middle name, arrived in the U.S. in 1912. Records also indicate that Bannan’s maternal family all arrived in the U.S. from Russia. Court records from 1994, when Bannan was 17 years old, identify Natasha Lycia Bannan as a white ‘non-Hispanic,’” the outlet reported.
After Prism contacted Bannan about her identity, she admitted on Facebook that she is “racially white.”
“I am racially white, and have always said that. However my cultural identity was formed as a result of my family, both chosen and chosen for me, and that has always been Latinx. My identity is my most authentic expression of who I am and how I pay honor to the people who have formed me since I was a child,” Bannan wrote.
She also sent Prism a private Facebook post to claim she had publicly identified as white.
Bannan tried to pin her heritage on her adopted grandfather, though he is listed as white. Bannan’s mother had two different marriages to men with Spanish last names, though it is still unclear who is the “Colombian family” she claims to have been raised by.
Bannan’s story comes after actor Alec Baldwin’s wife, Hilaria, was exposed to have been <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/impersonates-a-spanish-person-alec-baldwin-wife-hilaria-addresses-controversy-over-accent-spanish-culture">faking a Spanish accent</a> for more than a decade when she is a white girl from Boston. Before that, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/another-white-professor-resigns-after-claiming-to-be-person-of-color">several white female professors</a> were caught pretending to be nonwhite, including Kelly Kean Sharp, CV Vitolo-Haddad, and Jessica Krug.
