<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The suspension from the first two games of the 2024 regular season will apply to Garoppolo regardless of whether he&#8217;s with the Raiders or not, ESPN noted. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Garoppolo signed on with the Raiders when it was being led by then-head coach Josh McDaniels and GM Dave Ziegler. McDaniels and Ziegler were let go mid-season and linebacker coach Antonio Pierce was made interim head coach.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Garoppolo previously played for the New England Patriots as well as the San Francisco 49ers.</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> His best year with San Francisco was the 2019-2020 season when he helped take the team to Super Bowl LIV against the Kansas City Chiefs.</span></p>

<p>The owner of the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/las-vegas-raiders" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Las Vegas Raiders</a>, Mark Davis, shocked sports fans when he announced both the team&#8217;s head coach Josh McDaniels and General Manager Dave Ziegler had been fired following the Raiders embarrassing loss Monday night to the Lions, 26-14.</p>
<p>A Tuesday night statement from Davis posted on the official X account for the Raiders&#8217; team read that the Raiders have relieved McDaniels and Ziegler of their duties.</p>

<p>The Raiders also reportedly fired offensive coordinator Mick Lombardi, sources told the outlet.</p>
<p>On Wednesday, the Raiders announced that former NFL player/Raiders linebackers coach Antonio Pierce would fill in as interim head coach for the remainder of the 2023 season. The team also named current assistant general manager Champ Kelly as interim GM.</p>
<p>Earlier this season, fans were calling for McDaniels to be fired after the Las Vegas team fell to a 1-3 record, <a href="https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/raiders-fire-head-coach-josh-mcdaniels-general-manager-dave-ziegler-in-surprising-late-night-move/#:~:text=Less%20than%20two%20years%20after,head%20coach%20and%20general%20manager." target="_blank" rel="noopener">CBS Sports</a> noted. <p>Going into Week 9, the Raiders sit at 3-5 with Jimmy Garappalo as their quarterback &#8212; who isn&#8217;t playing as well as expected. He took over the top job last year when the team moved away from QB <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/raiders-qb-derek-carr-says-goodbye-after-9-seasons-says-he-gave-them-everything-he-had" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Derek Carr</a>, who had started for nine seasons with the team, after Carr was benched and made inactive for the final two weeks of the 2022 season.</p>
<p>A big question for many Raiders fans this season has been why the teams&#8217; all-pro wide receiver Davante Adams wasn&#8217;t getting the ball in his hands. <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ruggs, 24, appeared in the Clark County District Court where he pleaded guilty to one count of a DUI resulting in death and one count of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter, ESPN </span><a href="https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/37596226/henry-ruggs-iii-officially-pleads-guilty-fatal-dui-case" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">reported</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. Ruggs is scheduled to be sentenced on August 9 and faces three to ten years in prison.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;Today, like every day, we remember Tina and Max, and how they were taken from us that fateful night,&#8221; the Tintor family said in a statement issued by their attorneys. &#8220;No sentence will ever bring Tina and Max back, but we hope that everyone learns from this preventable incident so that no other families suffer like we do.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ruggs, a first-round draft pick in 2020, reached 156 mph in his Corvette Stingray before plowing into Tintor’s Toyota RAV4, propelling Tintor’s vehicle 571 feet, according to police. Ruggs’ girlfriend was also injured in the crash. Two hours after the fatal crash, a blood draw revealed that Ruggs’ blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit in Nevada at 0.161.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">District Attorney Steven Wolfson said that the DUI charge was “the most serious charge the law allows” when a person is killed by a drunk driver. The DUI resulting in death charge was based on the result of the blood draw, which Ruggs’ lawyers challenged.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;I recognize this outcome is not sufficient to punish Ruggs for the loss the Tintor family has suffered,&#8221; a statement from Wolfson said, &#8220;but there was a legitimate concern that a court would have suppressed the result of the blood draw. We would have lost the felony DUI charge. We couldn&#8217;t take that chance. This resolution sends Ruggs to prison for up to 10 years on a felony DUI conviction and brings closure to the Tintor family.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The day after the crash, Ruggs was released from prison on a $150,000 bond and cut by the Raiders. He has been confined to his home ever since, only being allowed to leave his house to work out twice a week. Ruggs will remain under house arrest until his sentencing.</span></p>

<p>The Raiders acquired Stidham from the New England Patriots in an offseason trade. McDaniels previously was the Patriots&#8217; offensive coordinator. Stidham got the start against the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs and the team lost both games and their chance of getting into the playoffs.</p>

<p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t think anybody feels like we&#8217;ve done enough offensively certainly in a couple of these games,&#8221; McDaniels shared. &#8220;We couldn&#8217;t put enough points on the board, so I don&#8217;t think anybody&#8217;s really happy with what we&#8217;ve done.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re all accountable to where we&#8217;re at, and I think this (decision) is more about an opportunity to see a guy that we haven&#8217;t seen play in a situation like this against a couple of good teams, really good teams,&#8221; he added. &#8220;Derek&#8217;s played a lot of football. There&#8217;s a lot of evaluating that&#8217;s going to take place here in terms of once the season&#8217;s over in terms of how we made the most progress, what makes the most sense for everybody, how to move forward.&#8221;</p>

<p>Boston sports radio host Meghan Ottolini had a few choice words for those upset about NFL legend Troy Aikman&#8217;s comments during Monday Night Football that some deemed &#8220;misogynistic.&#8221;</p>
<p>During a recent &#8220;Merloni, Fauria &amp; Mego&#8221; <a href="https://twitter.com/MFMonWEEI/status/1579999433160548352?s=20&amp;t=MZ6zhIL2V_xk_E2AyZrYPQ" target="_blank" rel="noopener">show</a> on WEEI-FM radio, two of the hosts, Lou Merloni, Christian Fauria wanted Ottolini to weigh in on the story they said was causing &#8220;everyone&#8221; to lose &#8220;their mind.&#8221;</p>
<p>Aikman objected to a roughing the passer call during the Chiefs and Raiders game and said, &#8220;I hope that the Competition Committee looks at this in the next set of meetings and, you know, we take the dresses off,&#8221; <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cancel-mob-seeks-to-sack-nfl-announcer-aikman-over-misogynistic-remark" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Wire</a> previously reported.</p>
<p>The radio hosts played the clip, and Melloni said the former quarterback meant, &#8220;stop playing like a bunch of girls.&#8221;</p>
<p>Ottolini&#8217;s co-hosts then asked her if she was &#8220;offended&#8221; by Aikman&#8217;s comments and if she thought the Hall of Fame QB should apologize.</p>
<p>&#8220;Hell no to both!&#8221; Meghan replied.  &#8220;I&#8217;m not offended at all &#8230; Honestly, who cares?&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t care,&#8221; she added. &#8220;If you&#8217;re offended by that, it&#8217;s like when somebody asks me if you can say like, &#8216;Let&#8217;s go guys&#8217; to your team of girls soccer players. It&#8217;s like, yeah, honestly, why are you wasting your time on this?&#8221;</p>

<p>Raiders star wide receiver Davante Adams is in legal trouble after he was seen on camera shoving a photographer after the team&#8217;s loss on &#8220;Monday Night Football&#8221; against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.</p>
<p>Initial reports Wednesday said the 29-year-old NFL player was facing a misdemeanor assault charge. However, later there was a clarification from the report from the Kansas City Police Department, <a href="https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-wr-davante-adams-charged-misdemeanor-assault-chiefs">NFL.com</a> reported. Adams was only facing a city ordinance violation, per a Kansas City Municipal Court public information officer.</p>
<p>It read that the WR &#8220;did by an intentional, overt act, inflict bodily injury or cause an unlawful offensive contact&#8221; upon the worker, pushing him to the ground using two hands and &#8220;causing whiplash and head ache&#8221; and a possible concussion, the report noted.</p>

<p>The photographer filed a police report with the Kansas City Police Department Tuesday, claiming he was a victim of assault after Davante was caught on camera pushing the worker to the ground after the Raiders loss to the Chiefs 30-29, as <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/photographer-files-police-report-after-star-nfl-receiver-shoved-him-to-the-ground">The Daily Wire</a> previously reported.</p>
<p>&#8220;[The victim] made arrangements for private transport to the hospital for treatment at which time he called police,&#8221; the incident report read. &#8220;The injuries are preliminarily thought to be non-life threatening.&#8221;</p>
<p>Later, Adams apologized in the locker room.</p>
<p>&#8220;Before I say anything, I want to apologize to the guy running off the field and he ran and jumped in front of me,&#8221; Adams said. &#8220;I&#8217;m coming off the field and I bumped into him and pushed him. I think he ended up on the ground, so I want to say sorry to him because that was just frustration mixed with him running in front of me and I shouldn&#8217;t have responded that way and that&#8217;s how I initially responded. I want to apologize to him for that.&#8221;</p>
<p>Las Vegas head coach Josh McDaniels weighed in on the issue and said he supported Adams after the shove.</p>
<p>&#8220;I support Davante wholeheartedly as a human being,&#8221; McDaniels said, <a href="https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/34776742/raiders-josh-mcdaniels-supports-davante-adams-incident">ESPN</a> noted. &#8220;As a person, he&#8217;s a great guy. I know that was an unfortunate situation. We obviously don&#8217;t want any of our guys to be doing anything like that. He knows that. He&#8217;s very well aware of that. But I know the person; I don&#8217;t think there was any intent behind it, on his part.&#8221;</p>
<p>A court date has been set for Thursday, November 10. There is still no word yet on if the player will be facing any discipline actions from the league.</p>

<p>&#8220;I was raised in the church,&#8221; Carr explained. &#8220;My grandpa was a pastor, my uncle was a pastor, my other grandpa was a deacon, my dad was a deacon, my mom&#8217;s a worship leader, my grandma is a pastor &#8230;&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;My mom and my dad, they taught me that my faith was number one,&#8221; he added. &#8220;If there was a game on Sunday, as a kid, we always told my traveling coach, &#8216;I&#8217;m not gonna be there, I&#8217;m gonna be at church.&#8217; They made the priorities, the priorities.&#8221;</p>

<p>&#8220;And it worked out for me – I made it to the NFL,&#8221; Carr continued. &#8220;So all these moms and dads that say, &#8216;No, we have to go to your games at eight years old,&#8217; – you know, it&#8217;s okay to miss one.'&#8221;</p>
<p>The NFL player is outspoken about being a Christian and shared that his faith is an expression of who he is.</p>
<p>He talked about a recent moment where he put his faith into practice when he said he felt &#8220;the Lord telling me, &#8216;I want you to pray'&#8221; for a female photographer while he was at a celebrity golf tournament.</p>
<p>&#8220;She was limping, and I knew she was going to have to walk all day and take pictures and all this kind of stuff,&#8221; the QB shared. &#8220;And so, I shared a story about how my mom was recently healed &#8230; I said, &#8216;Can I just pray for you?&#8217; And she goes &#8216;absolutely&#8217; …  So I prayed with her.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;And the next day she comes back, and she&#8217;s like &#8230; &#8216;Hey, you prayed for me. I walked for three and a half hours, took pictures [and] I had no pain, all the pain left … I just want to say, &#8216;Thank you,'&#8221; he added. &#8220;I was like, &#8216;Praise God.&#8217; Even though we had fun at golf, that was the victory that weekend.&#8221;</p>

<p>Colin Kaepernick, who soared to mainstream media fame when he took a knee as the quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers, hasn&#8217;t thrown an NFL pass in five years.</p>
<p>And according to a new report, he might never throw another one.</p>
<p>Kaepernick worked out with the Las Vegas Raiders in May. How&#8217;d it go?</p>
<p>“I heard it was a disaster. I heard one of the worst workouts ever,” NFL Hall of Famer Warren Sapp said during an <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vrWQRuc9w0" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">appearance</a> on VladTV last week.</p>
<p>Kaepernick, who knelt during the national anthem to protest racial injustice, last played on Jan. 1, 2017, for the 49ers.</p>
<p>Sapp — a defensive tackle who played for 13 seasons before being inducted to the Hall of Fame in 2013 — questioned why no footage was released showing the free-agent quarterback’s workout. “I’m wondering how the hell this happened and the tape didn’t get out, right?” he said before declaring he doesn&#8217;t think it&#8217;s likely Kaepernick returns to the NFL.</p>

<p>The 49ers picked Kaepernick in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He led the team to Super Bowl 47 in 2012 but lost in a close game to the Baltimore Ravens. He stayed with the 49ers until they released him in March 2017, and no other team has picked  him up since.</p>
<p>Kaepernick has stayed in the headlines since losing his NFL job. Over the Independence Day holiday in 2017, Kaepernick took to Twitter to protest celebrating the Fourth of July. In a minute-long video, Kaepernick was seen at the Cape Coast Castle, a former slave fort in Ghana. The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/colin-kaepernick-bashes-america-4th-july-joseph-curl">footage</a> also features the “Door Of No Return” at another slave outpost in Senegal. He questioned why African-Americans would celebrate the day when they were brought to America as slaves.</p>

<p>The quarterback of one NFL team is advocating for bringing disgraced former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick onto his team, claiming that Kaepernick would be &#8220;great&#8221; for them.</p>
<p>Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr, one of the <a href="https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-qb-index-ranking-all-62-starting-qbs-of-the-2021-nfl-season">top</a> quarterbacks in the NFL, said Tuesday at a press conference that he thinks that Kaepernick would be &#8220;great&#8221; for the team, which comes two weeks after Kaepernick worked out for the Raiders.</p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve told you guys, I&#8217;ve loved my time with him; I think he&#8217;s a great guy,&#8221; Carr said. &#8220;He&#8217;s been great to be around. I&#8217;ve enjoyed being around and talking with them, competing against him.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;For us, I think he&#8217;d be great,&#8221; he later added. &#8220;I think, you know, I don&#8217;t want to speak for everybody in that kind of sense. Like, I don&#8217;t want someone mad at me for saying like, &#8216;I think it&#8217;d be great&#8217;. But I know him and I would get along great. I know we have in the past I think we would again and I think for the most part, I think for the most part he&#8217;d get along just fine with our guys.&#8221;</p>
