The Trump administration launched a new recruitment campaign calling on Americans to become Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in a bid to capitalize on the new wave of funding that the law enforcement agency is set to receive as a result of the Big, Beautiful Bill.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) law enforcement agency launched a new <a href="https://join.ice.gov/">recruitment website</a> calling on Americans to join ICE in one of three capacities: as a deportation officer, criminal investigator, or general attorney.
The campaign comes just after the passage of the Big, Beautiful Bill, which will grant a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ice-will-soon-get-more-money-than-the-fbi-have-capacity-for-a-million-annual-deportations?author=Spencer+Lindquist&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=13&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=ICE+Will+Soon+Get+More+Money+Than+The+FBI%2C+Have+Capacity+For+A+Million+Annual+Deportations">massive influx of cash</a> to ICE, with just under $30 billion earmarked for hiring, training, and retaining agents.
“Your country is calling upon you to serve. Due to the prior administration&#8217;s disastrous immigration policies, the men and women of ICE now face unprecedented challenges,” the site says. “You are critically needed to secure our communities and uphold our laws.”
“The Trump Administration is fully committed to supporting the dedicated law enforcement professionals who secure our borders, shield our communities, and protect our national security and public safety,” the new website goes on to say. “This is a pivotal moment in our country&#8217;s history, and your experience and expertise are vitally needed.”
DHS unveiled graphics featuring President Donald Trump, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, acting Director of ICE Todd Lyons, and an ICE agent along with the text “defend the homeland” and “join ICE.”

The site also features a “frequently asked questions” portion, with answers to inquiries like “what characteristics is ICE looking for?” and “how dangerous is the work?”
Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin encouraged Americans to join ICE in a <a href="https://x.com/TriciaOhio/status/1950271327463514125">post on X</a>.
“Terrorists. Pedophiles. MS-13 Gang members. Murderers. Rapists. Drug traffickers. Human traffickers. We need YOU to get them out,” McLaughlin wrote in a post that featured an image of Uncle Sam and the text “America Needs You.”

An illegal alien from Senegal attacked multiple ICE officers last week after he was detained in New York City, the Department of Homeland Security told The Daily Wire. 
The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York on Thursday announced charges against Bass Ndiaye for allegedly assaulting ICE officers and about one dozen other detainees on July 18 with a pair of scissors. Ndiaye faces one count of assaulting an officer of the United States using a deadly or dangerous weapon. 
“This criminal illegal alien, who released into the country under President Biden, will face justice for his violent crimes,” Assistant Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told The Daily Wire. “Our ICE law enforcement are facing an 830% increase in assaults against them. Secretary [Kristi] Noem stands with the brave men and women of law enforcement as they risk their lives to remove criminal illegal aliens and protect Americans.”
Ndiaye was first arrested on July 17 in New York, where he was taken to the 26 Federal Plaza immigration center in Manhattan for processing. The stabbing incident occurred the next day and the ICE officers were able to disarm Ndiaye, the Department of Homeland Security said
Ndiaye illegally crossed the border on October 22, 2023, when he was arrested by Border Patrol. He was then released into the country by the Biden administration. He could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted. 
In recent months, ICE officers and Border Patrol officials have faced increased attacks and hostility. 
Over the weekend, an off-duty Border Patrol officer <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/suspect-in-shooting-of-border-patrol-officer-released-under-biden-dhs-says">was shot</a> during an attempted burglary in Manhattan. Both suspects are illegal aliens with extensive criminal histories. 
“These violent thugs have committed a smorgasbord of crimes and been arrested multiple times and yet New York continued to release them, ignore an ICE detainer and allow them to continue to prey on Americans and terrorize our streets,” McLaughlin said. “How many people have to die, how many lives have to be changed forever for Mayor [Eric] Adams and his sanctuary politician ilk to end these performative politics?”

The officer shot back, injuring the perpetrator in the leg and groin area, causing him and his accomplice to drive off.
Noem and Homan condemned New York City&#8217;s sanctuary city policies during Monday&#8217;s press conference, saying they made this kind of crime possible by allowing criminals to remain in the country. Noem said she was &#8220;calling on every single mayor in a sanctuary city and sanctuary city governor to change their policies and to change their tactics right now.&#8221;

Noem and Homan recently visited the injured officer, who is in a stable condition.
The suspect, Miguel Francisco Mora Nunez, a citizen of the Dominican Republic, was taken into custody after he limped into a New York City hospital with wounds similar to those inflicted by the officer late Saturday night. The second suspect, Christhian Aybar-Berroa — also a citizen of the Dominican Republic — was taken into custody Monday morning, Noem <a href="https://x.com/Sec_Noem/status/1947300919432905079" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a>.
Nunez&#8217;s criminal <a href="https://www.dhs.gov/news/2025/07/21/second-criminal-illegal-alien-lengthy-rap-sheet-arrested-involvement-ambush-and" target="_blank" rel="noopener">record</a> lists grand larceny, assault, criminal contempt, and armed robbery with a firearm, all of which occurred between October 2023 and February 2025. Aybar-Berroa&#8217;s record includes reckless endangerment, grand larceny, and reckless driving.
Noem wrote in a post Monday that the second suspect, Aybar-Berroa, &#8220;entered the country illegally in 2022 under the Biden Administration and was ordered for final removed [sic] in 2023 by an immigration judge. He has a criminal record in New York City and detainers were IGNORED thanks to <a href="https://x.com/ericadamsfornyc" target="_blank" rel="noopener">@ericadamsfornyc</a> sanctuary city policies.&#8221;

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is set to receive a massive influx of funding thanks to the passage of the One Big Beautiful Act, giving the agency a budget that exceeds every federal law enforcement agency, including the FBI.
“President Trump’s signing the One Big Beautiful Bill is a win for law and order and the safety and security of the American people,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem <a href="https://www.dhs.gov/news/2025/07/04/secretary-noem-commends-president-trump-and-one-big-beautiful-bill-signing-law">said</a>. “This $165 billion in funding will help the Department of Homeland Security and our brave law enforcement further deliver on President Trump’s mandate to arrest and deport criminal illegal aliens.”
That sum includes roughly $75 billion for ICE — additional funding on top of the agency&#8217;s baseline budget, which hovers around <a href="https://time.com/7299360/big-beautiful-bill-trump-ice-immigration/?utm_source=chatgpt.com">$10 billion</a> per year. That additional funding, which is earmarked for hiring agents, creating new detention space, and funding removal operations, translates to an annual funding of more than $25 billion per year through fiscal year 2029. The sum eclipses the $11.3 billion in <a href="https://www.fbi.gov/news/speeches-and-testimony/a-review-of-the-president-s-fiscal-year-2025-budget-request-for-the-federal-bureau-of-investigation">funding</a> requested by the FBI for fiscal year 2025.
The bill empowers ICE to drastically increase the number of agents on its payroll, putting it closer to its goal of 1 million deportations per year. The law enforcement agency currently has 20,000 agents and support personnel in 400 different offices across the country. With the new funding, another 10,000 could be hired, marking a drastic, 50% increase in agents and support personnel.
Just under <a href="https://www.axios.com/2025/07/03/immigration-spending-increases-trump-big-beautiful-bill">$30 billion</a> has been earmarked for hiring, training, and agent retention, as well as for the modernization of the agency’s vehicles.
The legislation also grants ICE a whopping <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/04/07/us/politics/trump-administration-immigrant-detention-facilities-services.html">$45 billion</a> to increase its illegal alien detention capacity over the next two years, a key component in the effort to deport millions of illegal aliens.
That funding will allow ICE to reach agreements with contractors who will construct detention facilities and provide security, medical care, and transportation as the agency aims to create an unprecedented number of detention spots for illegal aliens. The bill, according to the Department of Homeland Security, will allow ICE to secure 80,000 new detention beds and allow the federal agency to maintain an average daily population of 100,000 illegal aliens in detention at any given time.
The bill allocates another $14.4 billion to fund “removal transportation,” like deportation flights back to illegal aliens’ countries of origin or to willing “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-admin-secures-victory-in-scotus-ruling-enabling-more-deportations?author=Spencer+Lindquist&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=17&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Trump+Admin+Secures+Victory+In+SCOTUS+Ruling+Enabling+More+Deportations">third countries</a>” that agree to accept deportees from the United States.
The legislation also aims to bolster border security, notably allocating $46.5 billion to complete the border wall. The effort marks a drastic shift from the previous administration, which <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/exclusive-biden-races-to-sell-off-border-wall-parts-before-trump-takes-office">auctioned off</a> pieces of the border wall for pennies on the dollar just after Trump won the election.
It also grants $3.2 billion for new technology along the border and another $2.7 billion for autonomous border surveillance tech. Customs and Border Protection will, like ICE, be granted funding to hire new agents. That money will allow the agency to hire 3,000 new Border Patrol agents as well as another 3,000 customs officers. Another $855 million will be used to modernize Customs and Border Protection&#8217;s vehicle fleet.

President Donald Trump plans to travel to Texas on Friday to meet with victims of the devastating Fourth of July weekend flooding that led to at least 110 deaths. 
The president will be joined by first lady Melania Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, he confirmed during a Tuesday cabinet meeting. Parts of the Texas Hill Country along the Guadalupe River were hit with sudden flash floods and more than 170 people are still missing. 
&#8220;I&#8217;ll be going down on Friday with the first lady and we will be taking a trip. And we don&#8217;t want to get in anyone&#8217;s way because, you know, it&#8217;s what happens. The president goes, and everyone&#8217;s around focused. I don&#8217;t want anyone to focus on us,&#8221; Trump said. 
First responders are still searching for potential survivors as Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott said Tuesday that 161 people were missing in Kerr County and another 12 throughout other impacted areas. Emergency responders have rescued at least 850 people. 
&#8220;They could have somebody saved still,” Trump said. “And, you know, probably unlikely at this point, but that could be. I mean, they&#8217;re thinking there could be the possibility, but, what a tragic situation.”
Trump also stated that the relationship between federal responders and Texas first responders was very good, noting that numerous federal helicopters were deployed to assist local rescuers.  
Earlier this week, Trump approved a major disaster declaration for Texas, and top administration officials have moved to offer federal help to the region.
 Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. declared a public health emergency on Tuesday to surge healthcare resources to the region. The Department of Housing and Urban Development also announced a 90-day foreclosure moratorium on Federal Housing Administration (FHA)-insured single-family mortgages in Kerr County.
Dozens of children attending Camp Mystic, a Christian girls&#8217; camp in Kerr County, died in the flooding. Five girls and one counselor are still missing, according to an update provided on Tuesday. Flood victims included 8-year-old campers Renee Smajstrla and Eloise Peck, 19-year-old camp counselor Chloe Childress, and the camp’s 74-year-old director, Dick Eastland.
Other young victims include twin sisters Blaire and Brooke Harber, who were <a href="https://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-texas/article/sisters-found-hands-locked-together-following-20630269.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">found</a> 15 miles from where the flood waters washed them away from their grandparents&#8217; cabin near the Guadalupe River. Coast Guard rescue swimmers, formally known as Aviation Survival Technicians, are trained and must earn National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) certification in addition to intense physical training and water rescue techniques in a number of different scenarios. The grueling training lasts approximately one year and has one of the highest attrition rates in the United States military — nearly an 80% fail rate.
The Coast Guard Rescue Swimmer program has been in existence since 1984, and requires trainees to undergo a series of tests monthly that include: push=ups, pull-ups, chin-ups, a one-and-a-half mile run, four 25-yard underwater swims, a 200 yard swim towing a survivor, and a 500 yard timed swim.
Rescue swimmers have been integral to numerous missions since the scchool&#8217;s creation, and saved dozens during the devastating flooding in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was rushed to a hospital on Tuesday after suffering an allergic reaction, a department spokeswoman said.
“Secretary Noem had an allergic reaction today. She was transported to the hospital out of an abundance of caution. She is alert and recovering,” Homeland Security spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin told <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2025/06/17/politics/kristi-noem-hostpital">CNN</a>.
Noem is being treated at a hospital in Washington, D.C., where she was rushed by ambulance Tuesday afternoon. It is unclear what triggered Noem’s reaction.
Noem was one of President Donald Trump’s first nominees, being appointed just days after the president took office in January. Since then, Noem has been one of the chief apologists for Trump’s immigration and deportation agenda to the public, as well as responsible for its implementation.
Immigration has been Trump’s key issue since he first ran for office in 2016, and his handling of it is currently his strongest issue with Americans. According to the results of an <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/trump-administration/poll-americans-disapprove-trumps-performance-republicans-manage-splits-rcna212585?taid=684f0a494f8e5800013ab5b8&amp;utm_campaign=trueanthem&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=twitter">NBC News Decision Desk</a> poll released on Sunday, Americans view Trump’s handling of border security and immigration 51% positively to 49% negatively.
Trump’s immigration agenda has proven the most popular among immigrants to the United States. CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/legal-immigrants-have-swung-40-points-right-on-immigration-favor-gop-polling-expert">said</a> last week that immigrant voters in the United States have swung more toward Trump on immigration than any other demographic.
“Foreign-born voters have gone tremendously to the right on this issue in 2024 and 2025 versus where they were in 2020,” said Enten. “You go back to 2020, Democrats, get this, held a 32-point lead on this issue. Immigrant voters were in the Democratic camp. Jump forward to 2024, 2025. Look at that shift. A 40-point shift to the Right among immigrant voters.”
“Republicans now lead on this issue by eight points over Democrats, more so than any other group that I could find,” he added.

Democratic strategy to beating President Donald Trump and the GOP revolves around “attention-seeking,” according to Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro.
The latest evidence of Shapiro’s theory came Thursday and involved Democratic Sen. Alex Padilla, who was <a href="https://x.com/DailySignal/status/1933225600686149925">handcuffed</a> after unexpectedly barging into a press conference for Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. Shapiro called Padilla’s actions “insanity” and said law enforcement on the scene acted appropriately to stop what they believed to be a security risk.
“[Padilla] basically just rushed in and started yelling at her, yelling at her questions, and security appears not to know who he is,” said Shapiro. “They don&#8217;t know him from Adam. It&#8217;s not like he cleared his presence with security.”
Padilla crashed a press conference Noem gave in Los Angeles regarding ongoing Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations in the area. Padilla’s brief detainment has drawn loud condemnations from Democrats who claim to be holding the Trump administration accountable.
The stunt is the latest in a string of Democratic antics designed to draw attention, but that have little real impact, according to Shapiro.
“Let&#8217;s be clear: Democrats are all looking for attention right now. Everything is about attention-seeking,” he said. “If you think of Democrats, at this point, as a series of 5-year-olds who are desperate for mommy&#8217;s attention, then their behavior starts to make a lot more sense.”

Shapiro cited New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker, who set a record for the longest filibuster speech in U.S. Senate history in April. The Daily Wire host also named Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who appeared to mimic the motion of being in handcuffs while she was arrested for blocking traffic outside the Supreme Court in 2022.
“The Democrats are solely reliant still on this idea that whoever resists Trump the most strongly wins, that all you have to do is just yell at orange man bad and yell at members of the orange-man-bad cabinet, and that will somehow result in a magical victory for Democrats,” Shapiro continued.
“I don&#8217;t know what they&#8217;re thinking,” he said. “They&#8217;ve tried this now for a full decade. If your strategy isn&#8217;t working after a full decade, you might want to try a different strategy.”

Sen. Alex Padilla (D-CA) was swiftly removed from the room after he began to interrupt a news conference being held by Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem in Los Angeles, where the Trump administration has deployed National Guardsmen and U.S. Marines in response to violent anti-ICE protests.
The outburst started after Noem said federal officials would stay and &#8220;liberate&#8221; the city from the &#8220;socialist&#8221; and &#8220;burdensome&#8221; leadership of California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. Padilla started trying to speak loudly, after which security quickly started pushing him out.

Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin, who caught part of the initial incident on video, <a href="https://x.com/BillMelugin_/status/1933229630980534737" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> on X that Noem ended up meeting with Padilla.
&#8220;After I stopped recording, my team witnessed him being taken to the ground by FBI personnel and he was temporarily detained. Awaiting further details on what happened out of our view,&#8221; he said.

Says it was cordial and beneficial. He had concerns about ICE operations &amp; they opened up a line of communication. Said it was a good meeting and things are okay between the two of them (outside of all the political reaction happening now).&#8221;

In a statement, the senator&#8217;s office gave an explanation of what transpired.
&#8220;[Padilla] tried to ask the Secretary a question, and was forcibly removed by federal agents, forced to the ground and handcuffed. He is not currently detained, and we are working to get additional information&#8221; it <a href="https://x.com/kyledcheney/status/1933234559145161005" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) also responded in a post on X.
&#8220;Senator Padilla chose disrespectful political theatre and interrupted a live press conference without identifying himself or having his Senate security pin on as he lunged toward Secretary Noem,&#8221; DHS <a href="https://x.com/DHSgov/status/1933236707060822447" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. &#8220;Mr. Padilla was told repeatedly to back away and did not comply with officers’ repeated commands. [Secret Service] thought he was an attacker and officers acted appropriately. Secretary Noem met with Senator Padilla after and held a 15 minute meeting.&#8221;
Reactions to the confrontation flooded social media.
&#8220;A member of Alex Padilla&#8217;s staff just so happened to record Padilla&#8217;s outburst and then him getting handcuffed in the hall by FBI, and then sent the video to a local TV anchor,&#8221; Washington Free Beacon investigative reporter Chuck Ross <a href="https://x.com/ChuckRossDC/status/1933233156368298376" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> on X.
&#8220;Padilla missed Senate votes all week, only to throw a temper tantrum, rush the stage where DHS Secretary Noem was speaking, and get forcibly removed by security,&#8221; <a href="https://x.com/SteveGuest/status/1933225102318915766" target="_blank" rel="noopener">observed</a> conservative commentator Steve Guest.
Newsom, in a post on X, <a href="https://x.com/CAgovernor/status/1933228665263042839" target="_blank" rel="noopener">declared</a>: &#8220;Senator Alex Padilla is one of the most decent people I know. This is outrageous, dictatorial, and shameful. Trump and his shock troops are out of control. This must end now.&#8221;
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) <a href="https://x.com/SenSchumer/status/1933231055999226078" target="_blank" rel="noopener">called</a> for an investigation.
&#8220;Watching this video sickened my stomach, the manhandling of a United States Senator, Senator Padilla,&#8221; Schumer said. &#8220;We need immediate answers to what the hell went on.&#8221;
According to Punchbowl News reporter Andrew Desiderio, Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso (R-WY) <a href="https://x.com/AndrewDesiderio/status/1933240074180665835" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> of Padilla, &#8220;He has a responsibility to his constituents to show up at work, not to go try to make a spectacle of himself.&#8221;

Dem Senator Handcuffed By Security After Disrupting Noem Presser In Los Angeles

The Trump administration ended an airport surveillance program on Thursday that it said had been “weaponized” by the Biden administration. 
The Department of Homeland Security said that it was closing down the Quiet Skies program because it had been used for political purposes and had not stopped any terrorist attacks. The Quiet Skies <a href="https://www.dhs.gov/sites/default/files/publications/pia-tsa-spqs018i-april2019_1.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">program</a> was an initiative run by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) that flagged fliers deemed by intelligence officials to “pose an elevated security risk” for “enhanced screening” and potential observation by federal Air Marshals. 
“It is clear that the Quiet Skies program was used as a political rolodex of the Biden Administration — weaponized against its political foes and exploited to benefit their well-heeled friends. I am calling for a Congressional investigation to unearth further corruption at the expense of the American people and the undermining of US national security,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said. 
 “TSA&#8217;s critical aviation and security vetting functions will be maintained, and the Trump Administration will return TSA to its true mission of being laser-focused on the safety and security of the traveling public. This includes restoring the integrity, privacy, and equal application of the law for all Americans,” she added.

The program costs $200 million per year and has stopped zero terrorist attacks since its inception in 2010, according to Homeland Security. 
Noem said that enhanced Quiet Skies screening was wrongly placed on Biden administration critic Tulsi Gabbard, who is now the Director of National Intelligence, while she was campaigning for President Donald Trump. She added that preferential treatment was given to the husband of a Democratic senator. 
On Wednesday, Homeland Security claimed that William Shaheen, the husband of New Hampshire Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen, was given a blanket exemption from Quiet Skies after he was flagged for traveling “with a Known or Suspected Terrorist on three occasions.” The exception was granted after Senator Shaheen lobbied the federal government for her husband&#8217;s removal from the Quiet Skies list, according to the department. 
Shaheen has disputed those claims, saying that she was unaware that her husband was ever flagged as a security risk by the Quiet Skies program. 
&#8220;Senator Shaheen contacted the Transportation Security Administration after her husband was subjected to several extensive, invasive and degrading searches at airport checkpoints,&#8221; her office said. &#8220;Senator Shaheen sought to understand the nature and cause of these searches. Any suggestion that the senator&#8217;s husband was supposedly included on a Quiet Skies list is news to her and had never been raised before yesterday, nor was she aware of any action taken following her call to remove him from such a list.&#8221;
Noem called for Congress to open up an investigation into Quiet Skies in addition to her department’s internal probe.
