The Department of Homeland Security launched a website Monday to showcase a whopping 10,000 of the &#8220;worst of the worst&#8221; illegal immigrants nabbed in President Trump&#8217;s historic mass deportation campaign, The Daily Wire has learned.
The American public can now see for themselves the thousands of illegal immigrants with rap sheets that range from homicide, assault, rape, drug trafficking, child molestation, cruelty toward a child, battery, and armed robbery that federal immigration authorities have taken off the streets. Some even have ties to terrorism.
It&#8217;s the Trump administration&#8217;s latest attempt to debunk the mainstream media&#8217;s narrative that ICE isn&#8217;t prioritizing the arrests of criminals.
“This new Worst of the Worst webpage allows every American to see for themselves the criminal illegal aliens that we are arresting, what crimes they committed, and what communities we removed them from. This is all about transparency and showing results,” Assistant Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement to The Daily Wire following the website&#8217;s launch.
“As the media whitewashes the facts, day in and day out, our brave men and women of ICE risk their lives for the American people. Americans don’t have to rely on the press for this information, with this transparent tool, they can see for themselves what public safety threats were lurking in their neighborhoods and communities,&#8221; McLaughlin added.

Among the bad hombres featured on the website is Iranian national Mehran Makari Saheli, 56, a former member of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) with admitted connections to Hezbollah. He was arrested by federal authorities in Minneapolis after his conviction for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The website also showcases Egyptian national Yehia Elham Badawi, 48, who has multiple violent felonies following a 1994 shootout that left a Philadelphia police officer seriously wounded. Badawi also has a criminal history for robbery and aggravated assault.
Federal immigration agents arrested Badawi in Philadelphia.
Mexican illegal immigrant Aldrin Guerrero-Munoz in Minneapolis is also listed on the new page following his arrest in Minneapolis after he was sentenced to 32 years in prison for intentionally killing his 3-month-old son. He was also convicted of assaulting a fellow inmate at Minnesota&#8217;s Stillwater Prison.

Federal immigration officials arrested a man allegedly linked to the terrorist group that killed 13 American soldiers during the U.S. military’s withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Wednesday <a href="https://www.dhs.gov/news/2025/12/03/miles-nations-capital-ice-arrests-isis-k-afghan-terrorist-who-was-released-us-under">arrested</a> Jaan Shah Safi in Waynesboro, Virginia, located about 100 miles from Washington D.C. Safi is a terrorist linked to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria-Khorasan, known as ISIS-K, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
“The Biden administration brought this terrorist into the U.S. under the disastrous Operation Allies Welcome program. This terrorist was arrested miles from our nation’s capital where our brave National Guard heroes, Sarah Beckstrom and Andrew Wolfe, were shot just days ago by another unvetted Afghan terrorist brought into our country,” said Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem in a statement.
Noem blamed the Biden administration for creating “one of the worst national security crises in American history” with its botched handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal and the tens of thousands of Afghans that immigrated to the United States as a result.
“Biden let into our country nearly 190,000 unvetted Afghan aliens–only determining who they were and their intentions when they were already on American soil. President Trump has been working every day since January 20 to clean up this unmitigated national security crisis,” said Noem.

In the final week of the Afghanistan withdrawal, a suicide bomber blew up a bomb outside Kabul’s Hamid Karzai International Airport. The airport at the time was serving as the headquarters for U.S. operations extracting service members and others from the country, including thousands of Afghans.
On August 26, ISIS-K <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/united-states-arrests-isis-k-attack-planner-role-killing-us-military-service-members-abbey">conducted</a> a terror attack in which a bomb was detonated outside the airport’s Abbey Gate, killing 13 U.S. service members along with dozens of Afghans.
Safi is the third Afghan that entered the United States during the Afghanistan withdrawal arrested in the past week. On November 26, law enforcement arrested Rahmanullah Lakanwal after officers said he shot two National Guardsmen in Washington, D.C. One of the guardsmen, Sarah Beckstrom, died from her injuries while the other, Andrew Wolfe, is still fighting for his life.
A day prior to the attack, law enforcement in Texas arrested Mohammad Dawood Alokozay on charges of making terroristic threats after he allegedly posted a video to social media threatening to carry out a suicide bombing attack against Americans.

A newlywed couple was tragically killed in a collision allegedly caused by an illegal immigrant truck driver with a California license, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
Rajinder Kumar, of India, jackknifed his semi-truck and trailer on November 24. The disabled big rig blocked both lanes of a major highway in Deschutes County, Oregon, and led to the deaths of William Micah Carter and his wife, Jennifer Lynn Lower, after their vehicle &#8220;struck the trailer at highway speeds,&#8221; <a href="https://bendbulletin.com/2025/11/28/two-vehicle-crash-in-deschutes-county-kills-two/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to local reports. The couple had been married for just sixteen days when the crash occurred, Jennifer’s father, Tom Lower, told The Bulletin.
The truck driver crossed the southern border illegally into Lukeville, Arizona, in 2022 and was later released into the country at a time when the Biden administration was allowing entry of thousands of illegal immigrants each month, according to the Department of Homeland Security. From there, he received a work permit in 2023 and a California Commercial Driver&#8217;s License to drive trucks.
“Rajinder Kumar, a criminal illegal alien from India, was released into our country under the Biden administration and issued a commercial driver’s license by Gavin Newsom’s Department of Motor Vehicles. How many more senseless tragedies must take place before sanctuary politicians stop allowing illegal aliens to dangerously operate semi-trucks on America’s roads?” said Assistant Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.
“Our prayers are with William and Jennifer’s families. Under Secretary Noem, ICE will continue its efforts to get illegal alien truck drivers off America’s highways,&#8221; McLaughlin added.
The Indian national is charged with criminally negligent homicide and reckless endangerment. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has also placed a detainer with the local jail, formally requesting that local authorities hand him over to federal custody if he&#8217;s ever to be released.

However, it&#8217;s unlikely that local authorities will work with federal authorities since they&#8217;re hamstrung by Oregon&#8217;s sanctuary laws.
The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/california-has-issued-thousands-of-illegal-trucking-licenses-to-foreigners" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Department of Transportation</a> has labeled California as a major source of several fatal collisions involving illegal immigrant drivers. The agency recently revealed that California authorities issued 17,000 non-domiciled Commercial Driver’s Licenses to foreign drivers.
As a result, the Trump administration is withholding $40 million in federal funding from California after its investigation found that state authorities weren’t enforcing the English-language requirement for truck drivers.
Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier filed a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/florida-sues-california-over-sanctuary-policies-trucker-licenses-for-illegal-immigrants" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lawsuit</a> in October against California, which handed Indian illegal immigrant <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/illegal-given-commercial-drivers-license-by-californias-newsom-charged-in-fatal-semi-truck-crash" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Harjinder Singh</a>, who allegedly killed three people while making an illegal U-turn in August in the Sunshine State, a Commercial Driver&#8217;s License.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem recommended a “full travel ban” on potentially dozens of countries on Monday.
Noem said on Monday she had met with President Donald Trump and pushed for a travel ban on all countries that have “been flooding our nation with killers, leeches, and entitlement junkies.” Noem’s move to crack down on foreign entry into the United States comes as the president has paused asylum claims from 19 countries after an Afghan national allegedly killed a National Guardsman in Washington, D.C.
“Our forefathers built this nation on blood, sweat, and the unyielding love of freedom—not for foreign invaders to slaughter our heroes, suck dry our hard-earned tax dollars, or snatch the benefits owed to AMERICANS,” Noem wrote in a <a href="https://x.com/Sec_Noem/status/1995642101779124476">post</a> on X. “WE DON&#8217;T WANT THEM. NOT ONE.”
Noem did not specify which countries would be included in the travel ban under her criteria.
Law enforcement says that Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal shot two National Guardsmen in D.C. last week. Lakanwal worked with U.S. forces in Afghanistan before coming to the United States during the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan under former president Joe Biden.

Lakanwal applied for asylum in the United States last year, and his request was granted earlier this year under the Trump administration.
Noem deflected on Sunday when asked if the Trump administration vetted Lakanwal before granting him asylum. The Homeland Security secretary said during an interview on NBC’s “Meet The Press” that “vetting is happening when they come into the country, and that was completely abandoned under Joe Biden’s administration.”
Trump paused asylum claims from 19 countries last week, announcing the move in a pair of Truth Social posts on Thanksgiving. The countries included under the pause are Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen, Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela. Those countries “of Identified Concern” were originally listed in a June 4 <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/06/restricting-the-entry-of-foreign-nationals-to-protect-the-united-states-from-foreign-terrorists-and-other-national-security-and-public-safety-threats/">executive order</a>.

Over the Thanksgiving weekend, President Trump went into high gear talking about the necessity of deporting all third-world migrants and of stopping further third-world migration into the United States.
This has been a long time coming — Trump has been saying this for roughly a decade. One of the very first things he did during his first administration was attempt a migration moratorium on a series of countries where vetting was very, very difficult.
All of this is now coming to a head. On Thursday, President Trump said he would permanently pause all immigration from what he called third-world countries.
President Trump <a href="https://x.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1994272683387687053">stated</a>:

I will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries to allow the U.S. system to fully recover, terminate all of the millions of Biden illegal admissions, including those signed by Sleepy Joe Biden’s Autopen, and remove anyone who is not a net asset to the United States, or is incapable of loving our Country, end all Federal benefits and subsidies to noncitizens of our Country, denaturalize migrants who undermine domestic tranquility, and deport any Foreign National who is a public charge, security risk, or non-compatible with Western Civilization.
These goals will be pursued with the aim of achieving a major reduction in illegal and disruptive populations, including those admitted through an unauthorized and illegal Autopen approval process. Only REVERSE MIGRATION can fully cure this situation. This happened in the aftermath of a dual set of stories, one of them being an Afghan national shooting two members of the National Guard, killing one, and the other the unbelievable story of Somali welfare fraud in the state of Minnesota.
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem <a href="https://grabien.com/story?id=558818">stated</a>, “The President is absolutely determined to stop all processes at this point in time from third-world countries until we can have a thorough opportunity to go through these individuals, know that they&#8217;re here for the right intentions, and that they even should be in our country to begin with. He&#8217;s putting Americans first, their safety first.”
The State Department then immediately announced it would pause visa issuance for individuals traveling on Afghan passports, stating, “The department is taking all necessary steps to protect U.S. national security and public safety again.”
Noem said the shooting suspect, who was let in the country by the Biden administration, was later radicalized through connections already in the country, which is significantly more dangerous than just bringing people in from cultures that are non-communicative and non-coalescing with Western civilization.

If there are people being brought in who are initially somewhat friendly to the United States and then become radicalized in the United States, you have to start asking some pretty serious questions about which organizations in the United States are actually radicalizing people.
The real concern then becomes an Islamization problem inside the United States, which would fit with lone wolf attacks, ISIS-inspired attacks, or ISIS-connected attacks. Those range from the Fort Hood shooting in 2009 all the way through to the 2025 New Orleans truck attack, in which an ISIS-inspired person killed 14 people.
It&#8217;s amazing how terrorist attacks like the latter can completely be memory-holed. It happened at the beginning of this year. 14 people were killed, and we&#8217;ve already forgotten about it because the way the media works is this: If someone is inspired by ISIS or a radical Islamic group and they commit a terror attack in the United States, we simply memory-hole it.
The same thing happened in 2016 with the Orlando nightclub shooting, the deadliest mass shooting in American history at that time, in which a shooter killed 49 people. The shooter in that case pledged allegiance to ISIS.
What did we get? A national debate about whether Christians were too intolerant toward gay people, even though it was an Islamic terror attack.
There was also the 2015 San Bernardino terror attack, in which a couple of people who communicated with ISIS via encrypted messages killed 14 people and injured 22 others.
So radicalization in the United States is a massive problem that requires the FBI and the DOJ to actually follow through on what they are supposed to do: Track down the groups doing the radicalizing, follow them around, and monitor the places where the radicalization is occurring.
That is a significantly harder problem to solve than shutting the borders, which is what President Trump is attempting to do. They are not mutually exclusive. You can shut the borders to immigration and mass migration from third-world countries. We should also track down the groups doing the radicalizing.
In the National Guard case, it seems that the shooter became radicalized after he came to the United States.
The New York Post reports that a leading national refugee agency was warned multiple times about him. Apparently, the shooter&#8217;s behavior was so disturbing that a local community advocate reached out to a refugee organization for help.
This connects with another gigantic story that broke over the course of last week, the amount of Somali welfare fraud in Minnesota. Between 1990 and 2025, the United States has seen significant Somali immigration, with estimates suggesting between 140,000 and 167,000 Somali immigrants settling here.
The fraud scandal in Minnesota is staggering. Over $1 billion in taxpayers’ money was reputedly stolen, more than Minnesota spends annually to run its entire Department of Corrections. The reality is that importing gigantic waves of Somali immigrants into Minnesota, of all places, might create some culture clash.
Reports say that when the allegations were first made about welfare fraud in Minnesota, the first response was, “We can&#8217;t look into this. It&#8217;s racist.”
So President Trump has responded to all of this by doubling down on his suggestion that third-world migration be reversed.
Douglas Murray has a great <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/11/27/opinion/afghan-terror-and-somalia-fraud-shows-why-trump-is-right-on-migrants/">column</a> over in the New York Post in which he states:
<blockquote>You have to be careful with a country. Even a nation as vast in size and huge in population as the United States cannot be endlessly experimented upon. You cannot just leave borders open, or allow in large numbers of people with totally different value systems from your own. That is the mistake many European countries have committed in recent years. They have opened their homes up to people from almost every part of the world where there is civil strife, war or just a lower standard of living.
The results can be seen everywhere. It is the reason why a country like Sweden — that used to be such a placid, decent place — has become one of the most violent countries in the world not actually at war. Grenade attacks, gang-warfare: these things were recently alien to Sweden. Not anymore. It is the same here in the United States — though here the effects are more dispersed, so the problem can be covered up for longer.</blockquote>
He writes that all of this begs the question: Why should a group of people be given sanctuary in the United States, who presumably say they were fleeing from terror, only to use their time in the United States committing fraud to send money to terrorists?
The president of the United States is right about this particular issue.
Democrats, of course, are freaking out about it.
It&#8217;s all coming to a head now, and not just because of the recent shooting of National Guard members in Washington, D.C., or what&#8217;s happening in Minnesota.
It’s happening all over the West because the West has finally decided to wake up to the reality that — through our niceness, kindness, and civility — we should never have allowed our nations to be eaten from within by people who enter and then take advantage of all the benefits, only to fight and destroy that same civilization.

The Afghan national suspected of killing one National Guardsman and wounding another in Washington, D.C., last week was &#8220;radicalized&#8221; after coming into the United States, according to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
Noem told NBC&#8217;s &#8220;Meet the Press&#8221; on Sunday that the federal government believes 29-year-old Rahmanullah Lakanwal maintained &#8220;connections&#8221; to people in Afghanistan who may have helped radicalize him. Lakanwal was allowed to enter the United States under the Biden administration&#8217;s Operation Allies Welcome following the former president&#8217;s disastrous withdrawal of U.S. troops from the country.
&#8220;I will say we believe he was radicalized since he&#8217;s been here in this country,&#8221; Noem said. &#8220;We do believe it was through connections in his home community and state, and we&#8217;re going to continue to talk to those who interacted with him, who were his family members, who talk to them.&#8221;
Lakanwal is accused of shooting National Guardsmen Sarah Beckstrom and Andrew Wolfe on the day before Thanksgiving, killing Beckstrom and seriously wounding Wolfe. The suspected shooter was injured by return fire, but he is expected to survive and stand trial. Lakanwal was charged with first-degree murder, with more charges expected to be handed down as the investigation continues. President Donald Trump called the shooting a &#8220;terrorist attack,&#8221; saying that the suspect &#8220;went nuts.&#8221;
&#8220;It happens too often with these people,&#8221; Trump added.
The suspected shooter was granted asylum in the United States after serving alongside U.S. troops in a special Afghan Army unit that was backed by the CIA, the Associated Press <a href="https://spectrumlocalnews.com/mo/st-louis/ap-top-news/2025/11/30/suspect-in-national-guard-attack-struggled-with-periods-of-dark-isolation-community-member-says">reported</a>. Noem blamed the Biden administration for failing to properly vet Afghan refugees who were granted asylum in the United States. Lakanwal&#8217;s asylum claim was approved in April under the Trump administration, but Noem <a href="https://x.com/Acyn/status/1995145198192771113">said</a> &#8220;the vetting process all happened under Joe Biden&#8217;s administration.&#8221;
&#8220;Vetting is happening when they come into the country, and that was completely abandoned under Joe Biden&#8217;s administration,&#8221; Noem added.
Lakanwal reportedly exhibited troubling behavior long before he attacked National Guard troops in D.C., according to the Associated Press. Lakanwal settled with his wife and children in Bellingham, Washington, where he reportedly struggled to hold a job and failed to assimilate into U.S. culture, according to emails from a community advocate who works with Afghan refugees.
In one email from January 2024, the community advocate wrote that Lakanwal &#8220;has not been functional as a person, father and provider since March of last year, 03/2023. He quit his job that month, and his behavior has changed greatly.&#8221; The community advocate added that Lakanwal would spend weeks in a “darkened room, not speaking to anyone, not even his wife or older kids.” After receiving the emails from the community advocate, the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants checked up on Lakanwal, but it appears that Lakanwal was not contacted or refused assistance.
Lakanwal drove across the United States from Bellingham to Washington, D.C., where he allegedly carried out the attack, according to U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro.

&#8220;Our Merchant Marine Academy, they&#8217;re excited to play on a on a big venue like this,&#8221; Duffy told The Daily Wire ahead of the game. &#8220;And sometimes they don&#8217;t get the attention that they deserve &#8230; they&#8217;re critical as part of America&#8217;s infrastructure and making sure that we can defend ourselves.&#8221;
&#8220;The Merchant Marine Academy, our young men and women go out and make sure we have the capability of supporting the military in doing sea lifts, making sure products are moving, supplies are moving, and our midshipmen provide those services,&#8221; he explained.
The Merchant Marine Academy is housed under the Department of Transportation, which formerly also housed the United States Coast Guard. The &#8220;Coasties&#8221; were moved under Homeland Security&#8217;s umbrella in 2003. But the reshuffling did nothing to the football rivalry, which dates back to 1949.
The Daily Wire spent the day with Duffy as he wandered around Fenway Park, even down to the locker room, where he aggressively hyped up the mariners before they headed out onto the field. &#8220;You guys have more heart, more grit,&#8221; Duffy told the animated mariners. &#8220;So please go kick some Coast Guard ass today!&#8221;

Many of the midshipmen who were at the game were delighted to chat with the transportation secretary, who spent a big chunk of his time hanging out in the stands with them.
&#8220;Oh, yeah,&#8221; Edward Lippert told The Daily Wire, asked if he was a Duffy fan. &#8220;He&#8217;s the man. He&#8217;s the man.&#8221;
&#8220;I love that guy,&#8221; added Christian Meyers. &#8220;I can&#8217;t wait to see him.&#8221;
The two young men, who are both seniors at the academy, responded emphatically when asked what it means to them to be mariners. Meyers will go into Navy aviation after graduation, and Lippert will be sailing on his third mates license in the maritime industry.
&#8220;Oh man, it&#8217;s everything,&#8221; said Lippert. &#8220;I mean, it&#8217;s how cargo moves around the world right? World needs mariners.&#8221;
&#8220;Pretty much everyone here will graduate with a license in the US Coast Guard that&#8217;s capable of operating any boat or vessel in the American fleet,&#8221; he added.&#8221;We move cargo, whatever it be, cars, containers from point A to point B. We&#8217;re what puts food on your shelves.&#8221;
The second mariner conceded that without their work, American lives would be significantly impacted.
&#8220;It&#8217;d be really hard to live,&#8221; he said, asked where Americans would be without them. &#8220;Costs would be insane. I mean, there would be no food in supermarkets. There&#8217;d be nothing. There&#8217;d be nothing without us.&#8221;
Duffy feels that the Merchant Marine Academy has been not only forgotten but downright neglected by other secretaries of transportation, including his predecessor, Pete Buttigieg (&#8220;Boot-edge-edge,&#8221; as Duffy chuckled aside to his kids).
&#8220;They&#8217;ve been shunned,&#8221; Duffy said of the mariners. &#8220;They haven&#8217;t had the investments. They have one of the most beautiful campuses, but no one has  reinvigorated it. No one has invested in it.&#8221;
When Duffy first arrived in Kings Point, New York to visit the Merchant Marine Academy, he found out that these midshipmen had gone four months without hot water. A green energy effort brought in an electric boiler that didn&#8217;t work and ultimately led to the midshipmen going without water for months, he said with a shake of his head.
&#8220;So they&#8217;re taking cold showers. They have mold in in their dorms. Their dishwasher broke. They didn&#8217;t have regular plates and silverware. They had plastic plates, plastic silverware.&#8221;
When he brought it up to the midshipmen, he expected that they would be angry. Instead, he joked, they beat their chests and were proud of their tough situation: &#8220;I said, &#8216;No hot water?&#8217; And they&#8217;re like, &#8216;ROAR!! You&#8217;re damn right we did! No hot water!'&#8221;
He also found out that President Joe Biden&#8217;s administration removed a mural of Jesus Christ on the water from the academy and put it in the basement.
&#8220;Shameful,&#8221; said Duffy. &#8220;It&#8217;s been in the academy for over 50 years!&#8221;
&#8220;I said that&#8217;s it, we are going to we are going to resurrect the painting of Jesus on the water out of the basement and put him back in his place of prominence. And when I mentioned it to the to the midshipman, they lost their minds.&#8221;
He doesn&#8217;t have to &#8220;bring faith back to the academy,&#8221; he said, questioned about the move: &#8220;These are faithful young men and women.&#8221;
One way that he&#8217;s boosting morale is by telling the mariners that the &#8220;black sheep&#8221; is their mascot, leaning into the idea that they are the &#8220;black sheep&#8221; of the academies and need to fight to reclaim their identity. Duffy himself was sporting a Merchant Mariners sweatshirt with the black sheep on it, as were his daughters and son who attended the game with him.
&#8220;I just I think it&#8217;s wrong that we have a great American academy with great young American men and women, that we don&#8217;t respect them,&#8221; Duffy shared. &#8220;They are the black sheep of all the academies, right? And sometimes when you feel a little beaten, you&#8217;re an underdog, you come back, have a little more heart, a little more energy, a little more fight.&#8221;
&#8220;You can see we have our black sheep shirts on,&#8221; he added. &#8220;And we embrace it and we still kick ass. We still have grit. We still crush it like what&#8217;s going to happen today on the football field here at Fenway.&#8221;
The mariners did indeed crush the Coast Guard that day in the very final seconds of the game. Duffy joined them on the field, holding the trophy high above his head as he cheered, exuberantly celebrating with the young men — and even jokingly trash talking Noem, who didn&#8217;t come down to the field for the Merchant Marine Academy victory.
&#8220;Well done man,&#8221; he told the mariners as they left the field, shaking their hands and slapping them on the back. &#8220;Thank you for fighting! Well done.&#8221;

On the final day of the longest government shutdown in U.S. history, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) continued to arrest the “worst of the worst,” the Department of Homeland Security told The Daily Wire. 
Those arrested on Wednesday included men convicted of assault and other sexual offenses. ICE agents went without pay throughout the 43-day shutdown and continued to make arrests and carry out enforcement operations. 
“Thank you to every DHS team member for your dedication and resilience throughout the Democrats’ Shutdown — 43 days without pay for many of you — a hardship on your families. Your continued work and dedication to protecting our homeland are a testament to your patriotism,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said.  “You made America safer during the longest shutdown in American history.”
According to DHS, those arrested on Wednesday included:

<li>Jesser M Sandoval-Cruz, an illegal alien from Honduras, convicted of assault family/household member. </li>
<li>Felipe Antonio Ramon-Ramon, an illegal alien from Ecuador, convicted of possessing sexual performance by a child and use of a child less than 17 years of age in a sexual performance in Poughkeepsie, New York.  </li>
<li>Victor Manuel Mendoza-Garcia, an illegal alien from Mexico, convicted on three counts of aggravated kidnapping/ransom in Cook County, Illinois.  </li>
<li>William Giovanni Lopez-Fuentes, an illegal alien from Guatemala, convicted of assault of a child in Sunbury, Pennsylvania.  </li>
<li>Hoang Huy Lu, an illegal alien from Vietnam, convicted of distribution of a controlled substance and dangerous drugs in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.</li>

“Thanks to law enforcement for their hard work during the government shutdown these monsters&#8211;including pedophiles, kidnappers, and drug traffickers&#8211;are out of our communities,” Noem said. “Thanks to President Trump, our government is open. Together, we will continue to deliver on our promise to the American people: securing our homeland.”
ICE agents and other federal workers will again receive pay after eight Senate Democrats joined with Republicans to pass a bill that keeps the government funded until January 30. That came after a 43-day standoff where Democrats demanded that the funding package include new funding for Obamacare subsidies.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced on Thursday that thousands of TSA agents would receive a $10,000 bonus check for showing “exemplary service” and “stepping up” during the government shutdown.
Noem made the announcement at a press conference, standing alongside a group of TSA agents who were among the more than one million government workers who went weeks without pay during the longest government shutdown in American history. Government workers who went without paychecks during the 44-day government shutdown are also getting back pay.
“We are not only going to continue their paychecks like they should’ve received all along, but also they’re going to receive a bonus check for stepping up, taking on extra shifts, for showing up each and every day, for serving the American people,” Noem said.

Noem added that the administration “will be looking at every single TSA official that helped serve during this government shutdown and do what we can to recognize that and help them financially with a bonus check to get them and their family back on their feet.” The Homeland Security Secretary then passed out checks to the agents standing behind her.

Airports and the airline industry were hit hard by the record-breaking government shutdown, as the federal government had to address a shortage of air traffic controllers. The Federal Aviation Administration said last week it would slash air traffic by up to 10% at 40 of the busiest airports across the country as the shutdown continued. While the shutdown officially ended on Wednesday night when President Donald Trump signed the short-term government spending bill, officials warned that air travel disruptions could continue for days.
Trump also <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-floats-plan-to-reward-air-traffic-controllers-who-didnt-take-time-off-due-to-shutdown">promised</a> to hand out $10,000 bonus checks to air traffic controllers who stayed on the job during the shutdown.
“For those Air Traffic Controllers who were GREAT PATRIOTS, and didn’t take ANY TIME OFF for the ‘Democrat Shutdown Hoax,’ I will be recommending a BONUS of $10,000 per person for distinguished service to our Country,” Trump said on Monday.
Many controllers called in sick during the shutdown, with some picking up temporary jobs to cover lost income, and the president sharply criticized those absences.
“For those that did nothing but complain, and took time off, even though everyone knew they would be paid, IN FULL, shortly into the future, I am NOT HAPPY WITH YOU,” Trump said. “You didn’t step up to help the U.S.A. against the FAKE DEMOCRAT ATTACK that was only meant to hurt our Country. You will have a negative mark, at least in my mind, against your record.”

After the Trump administration publicly shamed sanctuary cities and states, some have chosen to reverse course and work with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The Trump administration officially removed Nevada from its list of sanctuary jurisdictions in <a href="https://nevadacurrent.com/2025/09/26/nevada-first-state-to-be-removed-from-list-of-sanctuary-jurisdictions/">September</a> after eleven sheriffs in the Silver State recommitted to helping the feds, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem wrote on X Monday.
Law enforcement agencies in sanctuary cities traditionally ignore ICE requests to hand over illegal immigrant criminals from jails, instead letting them go free. They are also barred from assisting with ICE arrests more generally.
But Republican Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo previously blamed the state&#8217;s Democratic attorney general for making attempts &#8220;to implement sanctuary policies.&#8221; Lombardo insisted that the state has &#8220;never been a sanctuary state, and never will be&#8221; one.
Lombardo&#8217;s office asked the Trump administration to clarify the designation, according to an August statement.
In addition to recommitting their support for the feds, Nevada pledged to use FEMA funds to assist ICE and upgrade local jail cells designated for federal detainees. The state National Guard will also support ICE operations.

“When others cower, real leaders step up,” Noem wrote of Nevada’s policy reversal.
“I applaud the Nevada Sheriffs’ &amp; Chiefs’ Association and Governor @JosephMLombardo for their commitment to working with @ICEgov to protect American citizens from dangerous criminal illegal aliens,” she said, adding, “Because of their efforts, Nevada has been removed from the Trump Administration’s sanctuary jurisdiction list. I encourage every leader across our nation to follow their example so that all Americans can live in peace and safety.”
Last month, the Department of Justice removed Baltimore County from the list after the previously-designated sanctuary authorities signed an agreement with ICE.
“Despite restrictions from state leadership, Baltimore County has shown a willingness to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement. This is a small step toward restoring public safety and we appreciate the county’s commitment to updating its policies,” Associate Attorney General Stanley Woodward said in a <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/justice-department-announces-removal-baltimore-county-sanctuary-jurisdiction-list-following">statement</a> at the time.
The Trump administration rolled out the list of sanctuary states, cities, and counties in August, threatening possible legal action against them for refusing to work with ICE.
“Sanctuary policies impede law enforcement and put American citizens at risk by design,” said Attorney General Pamela Bondi. “The Department of Justice will continue bringing litigation against sanctuary jurisdictions and work closely with the Department of Homeland Security to eradicate these harmful policies around the country.”

Immigration and Customs Enforcement is facing a massive leadership shakeup, exposing a major internal divide over the direction of President Donald Trump&#8217;s mass deportation effort.
ICE leadership in Los Angeles, Phoenix, Philadelphia, Denver, El Paso, San Diego, Seattle/Portland, and New Orleans will be replaced with Border Patrol officials, according to sources familiar with the plan.
An internal message informing Homeland Security personnel of the changes came from senior adviser Corey Lewandowski, whose role is temporary and similar to that of Elon Musk&#8217;s former position in the White House, sources said.
&#8220;It&#8217;s a s*** show &#8230; this is all Corey Lewandowski,&#8221; one source fumed. &#8220;He wants power.&#8221;
&#8220;Noem isn&#8217;t even in control, it&#8217;s all Corey,&#8221; the source added.

Lewandowski is at odds with Trump&#8217;s Border Czar Tom Homan and Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons over the mass deportation targets, sources said. Homan and Lyons want more criminals arrested, while Lewandowski is only concerned with increasing numbers.
Border Patrol has largely made arrests during sweeps of Home Depot parking lots and car washes, facing legal backlash for the operations.
Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino is set to testify in a federal court in Chicago after he allegedly used tear gas on anti-ICE agitators in possible violation of a court order.
They&#8217;re &#8220;used to being on the border&#8221; and don&#8217;t have as much experience &#8220;working in the community,&#8221; where they must &#8220;build relationships&#8221; and develop intelligence to target the worst of the worst, said a source.
However, DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said on X that &#8220;this is one team, one fight,&#8221; adding that Miller, Homan, Lyons, Bovino, Lewandowski, and ICE Deputy Director Madison Sheahan are &#8220;patriots who wake up every day to make this country and its people safer.&#8221;
&#8220;President Trump has a brilliant, tenacious team led by @Sec_Noem to deliver on the American people’s mandate to remove criminal illegal aliens from this country,&#8221; McLaughlin wrote.
&#8220;As we said, we have no personnel changes to announce right now but we remain laser focused on RESULTS and we will deliver,&#8221; she added.

Questions have also arisen about Lewandowski&#8217;s ability to call any shots at DHS, since his role has a 130-day limit.
By mid-August, Lewandowski, who served as Trump’s campaign manager in 2016, had logged 69 days, DHS <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/08/14/us-news/lewandowski-has-only-worked-69-days-under-noem-with-61-still-to-go-dhs-says-after-concerns-over-his-special-status/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>.
Axios <a href="https://www.axios.com/2025/08/14/white-house-dhs-lewandowski-noem" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> in August that Lewandowski was serving as Noem&#8217;s &#8220;de facto chief of staff&#8221; who &#8220;has gamed the system by undercounting his work hours to avoid leaving his unpaid job when he should have.&#8221;
This reporter observed Lewandowski introduce himself to officials in ICE&#8217;s Phoenix office as &#8220;chief of staff&#8221; while on a ride-along with Noem.
&#8220;We&#8217;re hearing that Corey&#8217;s doing everything — failing to swipe in, working from home, whatever — to undercount his days. It&#8217;s fair to say his work is being watched now,&#8221; a White House official told Axios.
&#8220;He&#8217;s lying about his special government employee status 100%,&#8221; a source told The Daily Wire.
DHS, however, dismissed the claims.
“Such an allegation that Mr. Lewandowski is using other people&#8217;s email and phones is categorically FALSE and bizarre,&#8221; McLaughlin told The Daily Wire.
&#8220;Mr. Lewandowski is a Special Government Employee. Mr. Lewandowski’s time is kept by a career DHS employee who submits the paperwork on a bi-weekly basis. He has completed all of the required Office of Government Ethics forms, including a full financial disclosure and any investments by his family. Mr. Lewandowski does not receive a salary or any federal government benefits. He volunteers his time to serve the American people. He serves as an advisor. The Secretary, like all previous Secretaries, has various senior advisors,&#8221; she added.

President Donald Trump also weighed in Sunday, pledging to deploy National Guard troops to the sanctuary city. He&#8217;s already attempted to send soldiers to both Portland and Chicago, which have become hotbeds for anti-ICE riots, but the deployments have been held up over ongoing lawsuits.
Over the summer, Trump deployed the National Guard and the Marines to Los Angeles to quell anti-ICE attacks, where rioters hurled concrete blocks at federal agents, set cars ablaze, and blocked major highways.
“San Francisco was truly one of the great cities of the world, and then 15 years ago it went wrong, it went woke,” Trump said during an interview with Fox News anchor Maria Bartiromo Sunday.
“We’re going to San Francisco and we’re going to make it great,&#8221; said Trump.
California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom responded to Trump on X Sunday, saying &#8220;Nobody wants you here. You will ruin one of America&#8217;s greatest cities.&#8221;

San Francisco became a <a href="https://www.sf.gov/information--sanctuary-city-ordinance" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sanctuary</a> city in 1989 with the passage of the &#8220;City and County of Refuge&#8221; Ordinance, which bars local police from handing illegal immigrant criminals over to ICE.
